It was crazy, you know, my little happy ass in the middle doing the video presentation. Ship. So I had met this real fly chick in New York at the time at a part of Model Joint. You know, you

know cats always want to model Joint. When you start getting you got to have that strong. So I had met this real bad little shorty at the at the party and I was like, yo, you know I'm doing the little MTV Awards in a couple of weeks. You want to flow with me? And she was like yeah, MTV chat. So she comes, letting Mode out pick her up in New York. We go, we get to the party and I'm thinking, in the back of my mind, it's gonna be a great night. I'm not bad. I got a baddy Whitny likes good. So I come into brand Park literally right like walking and I'm coming going towards the bar. I'm about to get a drinking ship. And around the corner come Puff with like ten niggers like like they and they sty they come around the corner, didn't Puff turn and he see me and I'm like, yo, like I'm thinking, like he getting ready to say what. He was like, Yo, I've been waiting to see you. And I was like me, now, be not you yo, And I said, oh you. She

was like why me? He was like, you know what you did? You know what's up? And I'm like, please tell me what's uped because you're messing up my date. I'm thinking I'm gonna have a great night. Yeah, there you go. Then you get this new cat coming in. You know, you're

Terry Bridgewater or you you got you. Maybe I'm gonna give you a better example, maybe like Marl Jackson. You know I had dinner with Mike Vick last night that you know, like Mike Vick, come in. He that dude, he changing the game. He's giving us another edge and he not really tying into the vest. He doing his own things. So it's conflict and that was the context.

But doing the movie, we are joking around. This is how the ship really started getting kind of tight, because you you can't be a rapper hanging around comedians trying to snap you. now they so now we're get into this race. This is in the movie where we're talking trash again about who's an athlete, who's a real athlete? And I played basketball. I never played football. So I was like, yo, I've been an athlete my whole life. Played baseball, play football, never played play baseball and basketball. Never played motherfucking football. It was too skinny. So this is this is the line of crazy line. Right. So Jamie was like, yo,

um so, l you ever played football? He was like, nah, I was. I was. I was on tour at sixteen seventeen. He was coming to see me. That was it. So it wasn't because their character. It was just funny. It was fun and games like it's like just poking the bear little bit. It wasn't serious, right, so we all laughing. There's a bad play and we The funniest ship was he's saying line, I said a line, north line, and then he's said a line and then I waiting on my line. Bro. That never had he never got that line. I never got the talk because they just started fighting. Like it was like saying, what by the

way to see this man to see? So the craziest ship is he does it in a way that you can't really tell if it's a He hits it side of his helmet though. So he's talking to line, he's saying his line, He's like boom, and you know that's what we call that an ear hole, Like that's that's crazy because you it's like cool. So Jamie's like, damn, man, you don't have to do that. Damn bro, what's up? Like, what's what your ear hold me for? He was like, you know what you're doing, but I'm in my scene.

I ain't tripping. Todd does not have a helmet on. Jamie does. So we go the third time we go to do the take to Jamie just turns off. Boom, punch him in the face, bust his lip. Whatever. I said, oh ship, because now I know I'm never gonna get my line like okay,

this ship right here then got out of hand. So now I never I see you ever seen like a Remember the Hope? Remember when when uh, the original one, like like l L co J turned into the Hope Like he was so mad and it just seemed like he was growing. This nigga is gonna So he was like, dude, you hit jeez, tell me you did not hit me before he's changing everything. I hope you didn't hit that

and they broke it up. Everything he said on everything on everything I love ain't nothing you're gonna be able to do to stop with him, What's gonna happen to you? And we're like yo yo yo, relax. Everybody calmed down and then got out of hand. He what he did that was slick was he talked us out of He was like, no, I'm good man. Come on, y'all tripping man. Oh ship. So we go back across the field. We come back again accident, he says something. I say something. He says something. Todd just snatches his helmet off, like just snatches it up. Boom knocked the boy like I mean like it looked like like he got thrown by like a goddamn transformer something. It's like, I was like, oh ship, Jamie Boom, it's his head on this big thing. Everybody's going crazy and they kept it rolling. Nobody. If you go back right there, you go back and watch

the movie. Part of it is in the movie. Then they cut to something else, and then you see Albert. You know what's going on, guys, come on. But that real part that look, that part was real. Now we didn't have back then, you know, obviously social media and it would have went crazy. But we had about five thousand people in that in that stadium watching it live and they saw what happened. Then it got crazy. I'm

not gonna eat up your whole show. That's why, you know what what what was really really unfortunate was that the guys got into it. But the comedy to me was the after party or the afterwards. Right. So Jamie cut his tongue. It has to go to the hospital. He's got to get like six the stitches or something in his tongue because he's been down on his tongue. Blah blah blah. So he's going to the hospital. L

L goes his trailer and ship and it's tight. Bro, we can't film right now because we don't know what's going on with Jamie when he comes back from the hospital. The tension is crazy. Now here's the funny part. My trailer is here, l El's trailer here, Jamie's here. I'm in the middle. So everything is going past my trailer window every few minutes and it's all like, yo, what it is, it is, what it is, It's going down. I'm like, oh my god, he catches on their phones

were in Miami. We're right here, yeah, yeah yeah, bring them all. Yeah. I want the whole clue down here. You already know the whole two here. In twenty four hours, it was Motherfucker's coming down on South Beach and Timberland Bullets and Yankee ass motherfucker. It was so many New York cats in the parking lot. It was easy, bro, like with the leather jacket on, with the leather jacket on, it's ninety degrees and you know, they meet, They got

the production people shook. I don't know who l L call, but it was eighty five Motherfucker's outside of his trailer. The next day it was deep. I was like, oh, this is bad, bad. And then Jamie had like you know, T G T. They was like little R and B cats. You only had like three or four cast you know, I'm just yourking, Like, I'm like, wait man, it was like your funny ship was you got all these real New York guns. But he didn't have his friend Brian. Brian.

Brian wasn't there at the time was Dave Brown. It was a couple other but but the contrast of power was shifted. You had the entire all the Queen's Brooklyn whatever here, and then you had like Jamie and his manager and if you guys, Jamie got security. Now yeah, oh now, yeah, he got his way. They's done. But I'm saying at that time, I was like, yo, what we're gonna do? Like, is it gonna be like more ship? So we wasn't. We wasn't filming. Nobody was filming, and

nobody knew agencies on the phone. It's bad. The person who saved the day was Jim Ohhead Jim Brown. O G thought he was in the Civil rights No, no to the civil rights. So I'm sitting there and they try to talk it out. Blah blah blah. He's orchestrating and telling us what Jamie is not Jamie. Jamie

So Jim Brown somehow figured out a way to talk to them to figure it out, then go back and talk to people and then we start filming again. But without Jim Brown, I don't know what would have happened, because he just gave us some type of clarity, you know what I'm saying from from

You know, he made it seem like, you know, basically was stupid that we would be fighting or disrupting eighty million dollar movie black men getting a chance to do something together and we out here fighting. We look crazy because we didn't look crazy at the end of the day. But they ended

up fixing it. But it was, it was, It was really crazy because only like at that time, Jim Brown and Bill Cosby could have squashed to be But we're talking, this is going there to ninety nine here in Miami. He got on Eddie Murphy back in the day for being raw, but everybody laying different. It doesn't mean that, you know, I'm less of a comedian because I'm raw and you're not. Like we're both achieving the laughter than it works. Like Dave Chappelle ain't like a dirty comic, but he's used as you know, flavor words,

but like he's not a dirty comic. I mean, Eddie Murphy was more edgier than you know, a Dave or Kevin Hart at that time. But it's a different time. So you could be raw people to people right now. I don't know, but I'm saying, like, for me as a comic when I was coming up in the game, I never got a chance to meet Mr Cosby, you know what I'm saying. He was my idol coming up in the game. I

was like, Yo, I want to get on TV. I want to do my own show. He was writing, producing, I mean, he did everything the right way, you know what I mean. So I was like, Yo, Bill Cosby, you know, oh man, he's he's the blueprint for how the Brothers can move right, like right. But what I'm saying, like, you know, it was a lot of stuff that came out that you just go Wow. You just never know in this game and in the business, you just never fucking know what's gonna happen on people who they truly are.

Like comedians, our job is to snatch reality, snatch observations, turn it around and bring it back to you in a funny way. Why are we so now? We got a tiptoe? So you got a guy like me, you got a guy like Dave. We can't say a joke that we thought of that's so funny that might make people think about stuff in

Let me tell you something when when just you know, I have so much fun google in you, right because you have a luxtrious career, you've done, in my opinion, from outside of us looking at that's the inside of that's looking out. You've done everything that any actor, comedian, a person that wants to get in this game. You've accomplished it. But the thing about you is your humble about it.
