Speaker 1

Welcome to Drink Champs, the production of the Black Effect and I Heart Radio and his drinks motherfucking podcast. He's a legendary Queen's rappers. He's said that's your boy here, No R, He's a Miami hippop pioneer. D J e f N. Together they drinking up with some of the biggest players in the most professional, unprofessional podcast and yet number one sorts for drunk backs. Motherfucks New Year's e just for Drink Champs. Trick up on the what it

could be Hopeley would have should be. This is your point in o R. What up is d J e f N and this drink chap yapao make some No. And right now when I'm when I'm talking about the guests to the left of me, I am talking about R and B phenomenon. I'm listening to his music and I'm trying to look for old o'tune. I'm trying to look for the cheek codes. And now this is a this is a he's hanks. I he arrails hands, Hans he hit that. No, he came here, loved man. Let's

get it. Don't camera, don't caumecra, don't get you don't camera. This man has been out there working doing what he gotta do, and this motherfucking field always happy every time I see it. So case you don't know who the hell I'm talking about, because he's gonna sing your girls panties off, and this is true. Case you don't know how'm talking about, what only to say inevitable camera. Yeah, for the record, we're coming off this oscars, right, I

just want to stay off top. I'm scared of world Smith, like, you don't vote for them, right. I've met Will a few times. I've I've never met Chris Rock. Okay, okay, Well one time I met Chris Rock talk. It was in the party and if I'm talking and sayd hey, Chris, you no take a picture? And Chris is like, what is the world going to? The um? I want the picture with Noriega and Chris Rock. And I was like, I couldn't tell that. First of all, it wasn't funny.

That wasn't funny to me. And then I was like, and I started to think about it that comedians don't know how to turn off being So what did you see? What did you see when when you first saw that? Where was you at? What what was you saying to yourself? I saw I saw a man fat up. I saw a man feed up. You know what I mean? I think when we when we look at Will, we we want to paint this perfect picture because to us, you know,

he is a king. He is that standard, that bob, and so we we we great him on a very high scale. Will is not allowed to make mistakes, he's not allowed to have bad days. He's not a lot of it's a lot of pressure. And then I see the wife, you know, who's been enduring, you know, enduring for the last however long, and I just saw a breaking point. And the joke probably wasn't the worst joke that's been said. We've seen some crazier jokes. But sometimes

it's just the straw that breaks the camels. Question under what I'm saying, Like, weird at a breaking point. So even this straw right here, it may not be all about you, but this little straw that you just put on that camel's back, it was enough to send me. Now was he wrong? I don't know, I don't know. I want your opinion. I just up listen. Yes he was wrong, undoubtably a full chest wrong. Now here's what you do know, sometimes you have to go there to

let people know that you will. Yeah, I equated to talking to shot earlier. I equated to being on the basketball court. Right. There are fouls, and there are technical fouls, right, and so at a certain point in the game, when you're trying to send a message to the other team, you may say, you know what, for the sake of the energy moving forward, I need to not issue a regular fiul. I need to issue a technical foul. So you mother fuckers. No, I will go there if I

have to. Because I felt him when he said keep my wife's name, I'll keep motherfucking mouth. That's I said. I was immediately scared of the person who made parents don't understand. You don't mess with said, I've been judged. I missed judge this for years. Leave a man, leave a man's money alone, leave a man's kids alone, leave a man's food alone, and by God, leave a man's wife alone. Just like that, Just because the last time act like this is the first time a comedian has

been ran up on, not just magnitude though, I got it. Yeah, but this is commonplace. You can look in the crowd. I do comedy. You can look at the crowd and tell I shouldn't talk about him because he's already giving me the place, like, don't bring that ship over here like I'm enjoying myself. But I will. I will do that. You know what I'm saying, Comedians so this, I don't think anybody could have anticipated that. But because he didn't smack,

he smacked the internet. He smacked the means all the jokes that did be said every time Tupac is bored up, they'd be saying, it's like some funny ship. He's tired of that. He smacked. It's like a pressure, just like that's what it was. Fed up. Will has the size he has to reach. Have you seen Chris thought about that? Chris say, man, let me just let it go. That's the disappointed. If I walk up on you and swing on you, I know it's something coming behind that we're

going to wrestle fight this thing out. I needed Chris Rock. I needed him to just give me so good. He's taking like a taking like a let me tell you something. He took it like a g let me tell you something. When they say when they say, I'm saying, it could have gone crazy, it could have gone crazy, but let me just like it's supposed to. At that moment, it felt like the Sauce Awards. It doesn't even be like you right when you smack me automatic. That's another part

I forgot. He didn't want him. He's the ultimate, but I think the smack is worse in the punch. You're treated me like I got penny holes on, like coming hard? No, what is this? Like? I can't That was because it's Oscars and the truth. Let me just tell you something. I've never been in the Oscars. I've never I'm just I just I felt like it's there awards show, right. I always felt like that this you know more is boycotting that, but I always felt like it was their

award show. But they had my man producing it. Um Wacker, Yeah, woll Packer. And don't I feel like every time they like we do get something like we do something for ourselves up, like like I want to do real Smith is gonna smack with Rock. That's a fucking just there was sound like a joke like like here's the thing. Okay, okay, we are event for We're an eventful people like that somehow another the stars always line for us to have a moment when we're trying to have a moment. That

was good. This just just what it is sometimes, man. And shout out to Willpacker for for producing a hell of a show. The show was actually good. Very proud of Will pack Great show you get because I don't like award shows it did. It looks like it has no soul and you could tell before I knew Will Packer was doing it, I could tell this was made

with soul. Somebody, somebody who's producing this soul and their motherfucker looking out for me and wanted me to watch absolutely aslutely so, have you ever been in an access I've never been to the oscars. I've never been invited. Um, I can don't consider myself an actor. You know. I have some big BET blockbusters as well as some some major TV one blockbuster. Did you see me in the new edition? Starts Joe bust me? You didn't, Okay, that's fine.

Anybody in here and see me, That's fine. I hate it. I'm like, I'm a big deal on BT Okay, nothing made to the big screen yet I'm on my way. I'm gonna need your support, so you're doing you know they don't invite me, so you know what. The Oscars they't invited me yet. You know, I guess they don't nominate BT movies and TV one movies. But we're getting there, We're making progress. How about the Grammys? What do you what do you in terms of that? Like your photogrammis?

Are you like the Grammys? I'm not. I'm not saying funck the Grammys. Okay, I'm never say that, But I can't say there is a need for immediate change. This gradual we're working on it. Oh, we're gonna get to it. Not gonna work because music is ever changing. As we see now that these platforms have come in, all these new platforms that have come into place to help monetize music more and give more visibility to certain kinds of artists,

the landscape is completely different. And you have a format that is catered to traditional to traditional music or the traditional style of judging music, you can't do that no more. You just can't, like case in point, like when oz was going crazy. Of course, if you don't, if you're not in the festivals, if you're not tapping into that place where that music is played, you don't know how massive that kid is you don't know to put him in the top rap categories at your Grammys because you

don't know. Everything you're doing is still done in a traditional space, different metrics. So it has to change, and people who understand the new metrics have to be integrated into the Grammys or they're gonna or they're gonna lose touch with everybody. They're gonna lose touch with everybody, and these things have to be televised. Like I argue this, UM, shout out to hear those guys. I love everybody. Um, you know, shout out to BT, shoutout to Soul training,

all these guys. But accused me that the R and B best R and B category is not televised. Why why why can't we Why can't I love be seen? Huh, sexuality be saying that's crazy. I didn't even that. I don't want to hurt nobody, nobody. You know what I'm saying. My songs are you know, your phones are different. You know what I'm saying. But yet, and not against hip hop, you have more of a platform to say and do the things you need to do versus me. I'm just

selling love. But I digress. So I think the format needs to be adjusted. In the way you adjust that format is by integrating people who know what the fund is going on right now, right like we like we're supposed to be at the the championship of that, Like when these these awards and things like that, it's supposed to be some of us in the room. Is that what you're intended? Absolutely? Yeah, in the room and listen. It can't be everybody can't be over thirty. Everybody can't

be over forded. Okay, but a sixty five year old listen, I don't care how long I don't already trying to hang on. He should not be voting in just shouldn't be doing it right the pop category. He should listn't. If he want to vote on smooth jazz, let let him do that. But there has to be changed, and the integration has to happen now or you're gonna lose touch with the culture R and B and hip hop for that matter. Let me let me ask you changing it up a little bit. One thing I can hear

from you, like I could. I can hear when I'm listening to your music, I could tell you was raising the church boy. Are you absolutely like it? Says that, and I know that's we're real singers. It always it starts out like that. How do you feel I'm switching it up a little bit? How do you feel about people who don't go to that, people who just take the easy route out and go order tune and then they can't even perform live because they're really not they can't sing at all. I love it. I did not

expect that. I love it. It's a place for all of its love. Because listen, there are R and B R, and there are R and B singers. There's a difference. I need them so that the highlight of what I do is personified even more. You're gonna get some of that. You canna have playtime over there, you know what I'm saying, and enjoy them. Tune the lyrics in Maryland, I I turned the tune on. Sometimes I turned it on to

the aesthetic for the sound, tap into the youth. But when you want to hear a real singer, when you want your soul touched, you know what I'm saying. When you when you when ladies, when you want your inner secretions to flow in section, I don't want to after that mean, I know what it means. Then you come see R B singer. And again I always, I always

try to speak to the equality of a thing. If you're gonna give the guys with the auto tune all the mainstream look, then give the vocal listen real singers some mainstream looks as well. We're asking let make some that would be the equivalent of lyricists m c s. And some that aren't. But they make dope music. They make dope music. Some some rappers are stylists, you know what I'm saying, where it's like a voice you just can't deny, you know what I'm saying. Some rappers are

good at making songs. The hook is fired the body of the so so maybe a few lines. And then some are just flat out lyricists to where there are bars, you know what I'm saying. That they're just undefeated. So it's room for all of it. I just want us to be able to I'm an R and B singer. Man, let me eat too, Let me with my big right right? Are you drinking beer? Is that pace efical? Yeah? He might be met Say so when I googled you it, say so. When I doled you seen you will see

slack for performing at a Black gay pride event. Yeah, why would you see slack for that? You you tell me, I'm asking you. He saw your tweet. You know, I think it's I think it's just a disconnect. I'm not gonna understand that, you know what I mean. I think

I'm gonna speak. You know, in terms of the Black community, there's a there's a stigma, and there's there's there's a hate that goes along with being gay, right right, And oftentimes in our language, to even um to I mean the greater person to the lowest, we can degrade them. We use gay. It's the adjective. And so that carries on even into entertainment. So paint the picture for you. Guy Brian who used to manage your fantasia, who's a

gay man, who's my friend. He said, hey, man, what do you think about performing a gay pride in d C? I said, yeah, well we kind I'm from DC. Yeah, I said, I said, ship, we're kind of back. The guy he said, they got this kind of bag. I'm all the way right. And so we we get in there and and the first thing you say, are you gonna take your shirt off? And I said, you called me, I'll do what I do. I do a thing I'm not scared of im. I's not gonna rub off on

me because I had to do my show right. So I go out there and I'm doing the first song right, and as I'm singing my first song, I just kind of noticed I'm scanning the crowd. You know, they don't know how to receive me at this time. I'm not knowing I'm the first straight mail artists to ever do it. I'm not. I'm not. I'm not knowing the energy and my understanding why all these questions are, you know, surrounding this.

So I get out there and you know, I finished my first song and the explosions going out bad bad. They're like, all right, don't like this, y'all trying to masculinity and saying the sisters don't turn out now. I came to see you all and they said yeah. And it was at that moment that they understood, like, I have no judgment for you in your lifestyle. I only have love for you as a human being. You also are the reason why I'm able to feed my family, So I love you for that and I'm gonna I'm

gonna entertain. Ain't the same way I would entertain on any stage, whether it's a bunch of girls in the front row a bunch of guys in the front room. I'm securing my ship. I'm secure. I don't feel like I'm gonna walk into a game room and all of something become gay. Right, And so when the backlash comes and people are saying, oh, he must be gay, I can laugh at that because that's not the worst thing you can call me, right, because I don't see it is that. So I just did Pride in Dallas. Where's

the bag? As I got fans there? Do they got the bag? I'm on the way. You sure you want to take picture? You goddamn r I don't want to take pictures, and ain't really if it ain't photographs, they don't hit the ground there in full support. So and I told him, I said, once we get out of once we get out of this hate space and are willing to have a real sit down and try to understand each other and do it in love, it's always gonna be this barrier between so many things. So for me,

I leave with love. Man, I don't care what it is like. We had Jason Lee on here um and I had to ask him the question that we asked everyone else. You know what I mean, because if not, wouldn't have been that. You know what the question is, does he eat? Ask? Wow, you want to go? Just talk to me. Brother. I'm here on the club. I hate the same Jason Lee's a whole different kind of ass, remember I mean Harry answer, He's right, but the club, so obviously you say you do eat as just be clear,

woman's asked, woman's woman. I just want to keep this clear. They're gonna try to find a way. So we also had Trick Daddy on here, and Trick Daddy said he not only he enjoys being an ass, eat a booty gang, eat the moody and I he said, he got legs up and everything. I said, No, no legs up, he said, and he asked you to. But Trick, Trick Daddy is the president, and we are members in this cart not always legs up. We don't always. You know what I was gonna be that compromise up a little bit. You

know what I'm saying, This scotch up. What I'm saying, I feel like, you know you chest no, no, And he wears a bit, you wear a bit no nothing, Oh my god. Yeah, no, listen, man, it's a man and a woman, you know, being consensual about things that you know what I'm saying, there are there are lines draw hey, don't just don't know. No no, poke pokey. He toned that down, you know what I'm saying. You know, but the first time it did happen to me, I was, you know what, I don't know why I'm doing this.

I was in my Susie Rodeo and I'm sorry, Susie Rodo Suo rodeo. You know how long ago that was radio and I was thinking the older woman at the time, and she was like me, you know, show your first time, my first time. You got the first time. Eventually, that's how I got, you know, brought into this world. Check that he world. And uh and and you know, I you know, I haven't had my legs up on the

head resting it. You know, it's very tick It tickled before I could actually enjoy it, right, so you know, and and it's like wow, wow, wow, he re funked up my child. A second he was on the road and I told you, I can really went smoke weeds. So only we would smoke weeds so I went to his room. He just did not ask him. He's like he was playing video games. He just went to turn on the TV and he just he had his legs on the TV on the because you know, yeah himself,

so take We don't know if you know. The show was about giving out flower giving giving out flowers, showing people to love while they are alive and while they stand, and showing people how great they are. So no doubt, we want to give your flowers live and flash being what the hell you all lifetimes? A lifetime? We changed the time fire. Thank you brother. So let me ask you. Moving around, We're gonna get back to the later, you know anything, So what do you what do you? What

do you still love about this game? It's that's changed for me. Um before what I loved about this game was everything that I had to offer, very selfish about the way I was gonna sing to him, about the way I was going to perform, by the way I was going to write it and produce it and deliver it me how I'm going to do it right. Every every show, every time I wake up, I'm about to

kill these I'm like kill him right. And now it's I can't wait to build up this next singer songwriter producer so that they can go kill on R and B's behalf. I can't wait to give everything that I have to somebody else. That's what drives me now, because like, what good is the game if it? If it dies with me? You have to right and that, and that's how you truly truly build. That's how you truly create a legacy when your arms extend as far as humanly possible.

Right if an artist thirty years down the line says all of this was made possible because one day Tank gave me a call and said, I believe in you, and we're going to make something great happen. I've done my job. I've done my job because that that's my true gift. My true gift is championing and supporting and

putting the battery. You can do it. I used to have a kid, uh that used to sing backgrounds with me my name and Luke James right, and and Luke James just also live well, so you can live with me. Man A said, first of all, you need to be writing songs. You need to be doing all this stuff like this is what you need to be doing. It's the first song he wrote was on my albums. That club and pain Right brought him in and we're singing back, We're singing. He's on the road singing backgrounds with men.

I got my guys standing back there doing that thing. And one day we're at the house. You're singing, going back and forth, you know, sharpening the tools, and he goes into this high active Mariot Carrie Slash. I was like, it's like, NICKI, it's crazy. I said, this is what we're gonna do. We're gonna go on my stage and I'm gonna call you out and I'm gonna say if Maxwell was here, what would he do? That kid? And

then I want you to go crazy? And this kid stood at the front of my stage and almost took over my entire show every night. I had to fight to get my show back little James every night. But I wanted him to do that. I wanted them to scream and go crazy every time he touched that microphone. Now he's a little James believed in that kid still, do you know what I'm saying, Like, I'm looking to build things bigger than me, and we did that for you.

Genuine m hmm, genuine. That was my next question. I was about to say, what the hell happened to teach superfess we get there, I'm fresh out of church to let's let you interview some you know, I'm fresh from prior rehearsal to the plane to l A. You know what I'm saying, at this time, the devil kind of is still in the music. You know what I'm saying. I was brainwashed to believe that this is the devil. Right, it's no longer the devil. But we get to rehearsal

and I'm one of those overachievers. Before we get to l A, I know every genuine song, top to bottom, every harm No we were I was just there to sing almost already done Pony number one platinum. I learned every background part on his album, interludes everything. He walks into rehearsal, he starts chewing some stuff up, you know, just playing on the microphone, and we're back like I'm gonna try another be Doobie out me like oh these they started playing it like I'm like, yeah, we're ready.

He's so excited. He's like, I got to call this background singers on the hall tour it's Mary on the tour. It's Drew Hill on the tour. And I got the calling singers. He calls the Leah. I got the best singers on the tour. You better come see him. The Lah comes to this to the rehearsal studio. Here's a sing She's like, niggers cold. I come down. I get to me to Lea for the first time, She's like, what's your name? I was like Darrell. She's like, where

you from. I'm from such and such. You're really doing with your real name because at the time only my family knew my nickname. My name is out of the baby, so I was just Durell at the time. You know what I'm saying. This time, I'm twenty two and she's you know, she's just asking me questions like I'm the main attraction. I don't know what this is the Lea She's got on the outfit bros To tell me this is the share the stomach is that. I'm like, this

is a liv and she's concerned about me. Right, And about a week later, Alia fired two background singers and hired me and another guy. You and and those two

um mainly genuine like Alia would say you dope. You're like a one man Joe to see what you need to do, like you gotta wear this, and then then then you got the you got the song, focus on the piano, but you need to throw some of that edge like she was just just game me gave me and Ginuine would sit sit with me at the top of a theater, sold out theater, right and he was

standing there. He would watch his picture line and to be a thousand girls in the picture line literally and he would say, dog, I'm gonna take every one of these picture dogs. That's what you gotta do. You wanna be a style. You got to keep a die. If the last one of them dig I'm gonna touch him all. If last one of the last one of them, dog dog. And I would watch him do this every night, left no fan behind every night. This is what you gotta do,

taking things and you're writing songs. And then I got to meet my favorite producer, Timberland, and me and Timberland on the bus with my PVDPM keyboard making beats together and he's like, take you talent, you got the sauce, but you gotta do is you gotta do this. You gotta do this, all these guys gaming me, gaming me, gaming me, and then Ginuine did what gave me the front of his stage. Go crazy, little brow. You talk about you talk about the leftovers. Amen, Yeah, yeah, yeah,

I'm the coldest wingman in history, in history. I carried the foot locker bags. You know what I'm saying. I carried the oak tree bags. I would be in the middle of the mall buying the silver jewelry. You know the sound I'm saying, the sterling silver sock to fit in with Genuine. His wing men wouldn't look so crazy. And when Genuine went out and he needed that wing we got supers there. I'm staring. I'm starine head. We

got him out. You would have going on the power of a laminate the r late with the wine, Oh my god, with Genuine. We'd love to go see him. I would love for you to see him. You got any friends, You got any friends? So that's that's Genuine. Let's let's cross over in the t G T. Let's

do it. Let's get into that. What then happened? Man, I'm gonna blame all of us, you said all of us, all of us, as I put most of the blame on Tyrese, and then and then some more and now some of the blame on Genuine, and then I'll get back to myself. I gotta you know, I'm I'm here with you. Never make myself look better than those guys. This is just the true Okay, okay, Um. What happened the first time around is we fought to make that album.

It was a hell of a process. Yeah no, no, no's like literally like the only thing that kept me from fighting Ti Reese, like you know what I'm saying, like really like like slamming, slamming him on top of his head was it was that guy right there. Yeah, my manager. He was like, you can't go over there and fight. I said, why can't I can't. I can go to his house. We can fight, get it off our chest, and then make some more music. But you are not gonna text me text me like like I'm

not a grown like Tyrese on the text chain. Oh oh, he greasy on the text shape. He'd go there on the tech shape right and as soon as I say, cool, I'm coming to fuck you up. While we always want to fight because all the fighting words. Okay, who's on the text change though? Me? Genuine and tyrese. It's the craziest check. And then you'll see I say, yea, I shouldn't do this. That y'all better than this, said no,

I'm gonna him up absolutely um. But that was just to Alpha Like me and Tie are both capitalcorns, and we bumped heads every step of the way. I'm way first, he's he's the December thirty one. We bumped heads every step of the way. That's my brother, so I can I can say, I can talk about anybody else talking about um. And I just felt like he was doing too much. Why I was mad? He knows this. I was mad. I was like, listen, I make albums. I make bodies of work. I have classic albums. I am

still doing this ship at a high level. To let me handle the music. Your cash. As the biggest star in our group, I will give way to you handling the business. Use that Tyree's blockbuster billion dollar box office cache to get us the best deal imaginable, all the fast and furiousness. Rightious, He's furious, come furious, but let me handle this music. This is what the funk I do. And he wouldn't get out of my way, kept stepping

on my toes. He likes to do boot camps. I like to lock in with two or two or three producers, a couple of writers and make magic. People like a thousand producers and writers making I don't. I just don't make music like that. I'm from the Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis from Teddy Riley, from the Timberland, the Doctor Dre. I'm from those schools where we lock in and we find it and we make magic. That's what I'm from. But but his process is not wrong, just not my process.

So our arguments and our beef was more so men who have been successful trying to figure out a way being successful individually trying to figure out a way to be successful together, right, And so neither one of us wanted to bow down to either person's process. Your process, it's not better than mind. Your process is not better than mine. Well, then here we are, and that's what made it difficult. Finally get the album done. Over time, album finally comes out, we do some shows overseas, I

think seven shows overseas. We do like three shows in the US, and again we have a movie start in the group. He gets called away to do a movie which we couldn't control because you know what, Paul passed and got rest his soul um it from a scheduling standpoint, it got crazy for for Tie and everybody that was a part of the franchise, And so when that responsibility called, he had to answer, and so that threw us off on the first one. Getting into this second one looks

like you're passionate about this one. Yeah, yeah, I'm passionate about this one. I want to say this so that everybody can get on their ass right. T g T the second time around is bigger than music. Bigger than music in terms of it as it relates to us. It's for the It's for the R and B universe as a collective and for kings as a collective to see the Kings can come together and do real ship, creating a blue merin what what what I think is happening right now is as stressful as that process was.

Nobody feels like they have to inconvenience themselves anymore to do it, and I blame that on people being rich. Is rich? Genuine is rich? Do they need t g T. No, It doesn't matter to them what the fans needed. But the R and B universe needs t g T. For the love of what we are, for the legacy of what we're building. That's what t g T is about. This is my last album, but t g T would be my absolute last album if we did that right, because the people who are watching us, what is the message?

What is the message we send? After one album? Arguments online and nothing after what did we do? We heard ourselves more than we helped ourselves. We believe that with all this ship after the fact, I mean, people may be able to separate the music from the foodsgenes that we went through. I respect it. It was one of the greatest R and B albums ever created. I will say that. But we gotta finish right. We gotta finish right, man, all the way down to the wire. It's fourth quarter,

last three minutes left. What are we doing? So that's where I'm at? Right, can give me some more You got it? S yeah, you send it to both of us, asks just me, okay, I got it? Boom. You want to play it on the rules? The rules are no politically correct answers. Ship. If you say both or neither, we all take a shot. So it's it's a it's multiple or two. So we're gonna do this for two nights. It's one. Are these shots? You say one? We're good?

Nobody drinks say both are neither. We're drinking. We drink with you, don't drink by yourself. We drink with you. Yeah, we all drink. Y'all can drink too. Yeah. I felt like I said at first, But as long as you're with me, are you ready? Absolutely love my shot up normally see them a little my shot up. Now you're all correct? This is this is Japanese that you're on right here. This is Dominican mamajuana right here in the national nations nations right here. I would have the day

later on your thing. Yes, yes, spot me a mama pup. Yes, poor lightly. It is a long game. Snoop Dogg with jay z A. We drink it. We could drink. We could drink. I mean, unless you gotta answer it sounds like a drink. That sounds like a drink to me, ship both. Okay, you started off early. You didn't do I don't know what you're gonna askwer for this morning. I was a little too much. Take good time, take good time. At no I've been I've lost a couple

of times. It happens Chris Brown or Usha Chris Brown. I didn't I didn't know what she was gonna go with it. There trade songs or Jeremiah trade songs? Podcast or radio you got a podcast? Okay, this one, I don't know what you're gonna say. Rianna Beyonce Missy or Eve Missy? Keep sweat, Johnny Gil keep sweat. He played the game for real or Kanye for Real? Fab for Jada kiss high Beverages, Who yeah solo. I don't like

what's happening right now. I don't know that's addressed that you you you're making a face like you just did a whole shots like this coming. This is, this is it's that whiskey, y'all. You have something that I don't know a little top of this is trust me do this all things? All right? All right? Um we are okay? Mariah or Janet Janet? I gotta ask this why why on that one times? In totality the overall you know what I mean sing sing Janet as like the complete

performer that she is. Um, she just is what she is, you know what I mean? From from a dancer to what I'm saying the full Circle's Bust the rhymes are Eminem. You know what I gotta go with what I listened to? Okay, bust the rhymes? You want to explain now, it would be good. I think that. Here's what I think people have to figure out. If you've never seen anybody trying to follow bus the rhymes on stage on stage, oh yeah,

you won't understand this. You do not want any smoke with Buster rhymes and split Star when them songs come on and start going back to back to back to back. Now to the Eminem hamlet in the right setting and the verses in the right setting. Let's let's let's let's we we want this question. Let's say versus Buster. First, Eminem, what is happening? Buster? Your face? Anybody has an opportunity to jump on that man with Eminem, with Eminem, it's Buster,

it's Buster because he had game on here. Game said that he's better than Eminem. The game is better. He's a game. Yeah, and what rapping? Okay, you have to believe that you are the best. That's how this works. It, that's it. I will never I will never talk down on the man believing in himself. He believed it to period. I don't know, I don't know. I will say, I will say I think again in terms of what I listened to, game song's on the playlist, So just no, no,

no Monica or Brandy, Brandy, digital or analog. Yeah, Toby Lanes on the weekend. Whoa, oh sorry about the weekend. Wow, that was crazy. Take the shot. Nope, stuff, Nope, I'm gonna go. I'm gonna I'm gonna go with overall artistry. In terms of tool bag, I'm gonna go with Tori. Mm hmm. That was I ain't been broken the mitt All right, let's go keep thriller or off the wall. Go ahead, get my shot, right, Yeah, I don't want to do this. We gotta play with it. We gotta

play with it. Give it to you, Okay, I say, I think, I say I respect Oh Dr Dre or pup Daddy. Yeah, it's starting to feel like they are. It's starting to feel like they leone. Um. You don't criteria whatever, your criterias stop so much. He don't give you can answer every way you want. I wanna take that shot. That'll get the whether. You gotta get these shots ready, man, Because he was going through them like Oh yeah, I was having a good time and then I just just hit a wall. Hit the wall, Puff

and Dr Dre. I mean talking about guys bro Like you're talking about brand and headphones and liquor and it just gets billions. It's crazy. Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robs, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Teddy Penagraph, Al Green, the grit Stone, Jerry Curl Baptist preaching, Womanized and gens. I'm not sure makes makes some noise to that. That's when the music music. It's crazy, right, that's a little The day I felt terrible, I said, it's kind of funny because as you're going

through this ship, you're making the best music ever. And it was like you're hurt. It's making my ears happy. That's what pain does. That's what pain does. Yeah, please don't go. It was a real song. Maybe I deserve it was a real song. That's my notes, chill sucking up my notes. Mm hmm. I've never known this question. Michael Jackson or Prince Michael Jackson? Have you met either

one of them? The day I was supposed to go meet Michael what what the day Jamie was Jamie was taking all of us out out to uh out to the ranch. Jamie Fox I'm sorry, Jamie FOXX was taking us all out to right, Jamie, I'm not like we was just noticed. I was singing backgrounds. Okay, all right, So you supposed to Jackson, Yes, I was supposed to me. He was going. They were rehearsing next right right next door to us, and then they told Fox bring your crow,

come on down. Michael would love to have you guys, like you're just calling Fox just now. Is either Jamie Jamie, It's not both. So if you say, you say, Jamie, motherfucker you got it's a hard package. And I think he's got that, you know, trademark or something. Oh that's crazy. Holy Okay, Bobby Brown, I'll be sure Bobby Brown don't do that. I need to explain because the way you said that Bobby Brown is is one of the kings,

one of the kings. Like when Bobby Brown left New Edition, who was the greatest group and probably the greatest group blueprint of all times? Right, Bobby Brown went told to toll with New Edition every night by himself, by himself, and what I gotta do. Listen and in d C. You know what I'm saying, at the Capital Center. He gave them problems. What do you mean he went up against them. It was like he was right before new edition. I'll be sure somebody before, I'll be sure. Then I'll

be sure. Then Bobby Brown, then new edition. You know, Bobby went crazy because Bobby went to that thing. Bobby, Bobby went to that ship. You ever read his book when um he said that he fried cocaine chicken, chicken and cocaine. I did not read. Did you say how it tastes? He kept the rest of no one else who said, well, supposedly in his book goes somewhere he has so much cocaine that he didn't know it was cocaine, and he thought it was flower at one point. Yeah,

it's accident. And he didn't. You don't you make think he didn't. And I want to hear the after. You know what, that's not the best. You know, it's like you know your real nick. I never thought of that. I didn't taste it's because number Oh god, that's that's crazy right there. We'll talk later. Oldest read it or Sam Cup, Sam Cup, Stevie Wonder, Luther vandros Stevie Wonder. I think Stevie see, huh. You can see sometimes what

you're looking at it sometimes driving license huh. I think Stevie got Stephen can see sometimes I don't know how he does. I mess Stevie a bunch of times. Stevie gave me a recording kit. One time, me and Stevie sets out the side on the piano on the keyboard before singing lyrics. He's singing my lyrics and I messed his up. It's cool, It's fine. Apologize, you know it's

that apologize. I apologize the ultimate Frost. He's flawsing on us on the spot, like Stephen, don't walk up to you all the time and sit next to you on the keyboartist and I know all of your songs and just start singing your lyrics and I was I choked, Shot said, he wrote in the elevator with Stevie and Stevie press but the story out there. Let's get love the frost. You sat down and play the piano together. Let's just be clear you think you can see the

piano because this is this is weird. I'm not even like I mean, at that point, you don't have to see when you can say like that, I don't have to see the real life. You think he can see though, for real I think he can see sometimes, right, because how you notice? I think that because other sentences, other senses are so heightened, right, and be and being able to understand the sensibility of shapes and sizes of things, and and counting in the math of things, the ability

to visualize what's in front of you. It's possible to see shades. It's possible to be able to from a sonic standpoint. Right, You've seen Batman when they were using the phones to pin uh pin uh what do they called it, with the with the with the submarines, which is right, And so there's an idea of sonar existing within us, and so that will create the structure or whatever space that you're in or whatever thing that you touch. Right, possible can he see switch lanes? No, No, Stevie can

switch lanes. This is nothing, Shock said, Shock said, he will were in the elevator. He didn't say that he was in there. He just seek Stevie like they lived in the same building and they both walked in and Shock because he didn't want to say that, and Stevie said, when Shaq walked out, all right later Diesel like he was a pressing the button to it obviously, but this is you can google it on line. U Sho accuses that Stevie could actually see the way too. They figure

it's Stevie. He's been, he's been to professionally understand how that works. That's true. Look, they just hit me with Stevie. ONEA gave Darryl Dwkin his chocolate done the nickname. What he gave Darryl Dawkins his chocolate thunder nickname? How do you know he's hunk man. I'm sure somebody told him Darrel Dawkins. That's that's a darker guy, we said, oldest ready man, Sam Cook? Right, do we skip over Erica

about doing at least? Yeah? You spose I do all at least your kids about you pussy instance, No, I wouldn't. What do you mean, I don't have it? You don't want to support the pussy. I support pussy. You don't know that, Yeah, pussy home good, it's called the whole product line. Like, I don't know. I don't know how to explain that to my wife that I brought some pussy home. You know what I'm saying. I don't. I don't.

That's a good point. You know what. I'm like, bab I got this got it might be like, what is so? So you want to know what her? You want me to put it off so I can. You can be around supporting? Are you support? It's not a goodly ship. That was good. I had no idea who are new addition we did? We did a new addition or the Jackson five? Fuck? I have to go with a new addition. You really love new addition, love new addition. I was

raised on that album. My love for R and B grew with any heartbreak, you know, going to that tour, my my first concert, asking my father, please can you take me to see a New Edition? We need a yes, Yes, that's the blueprint for me. And then from New Edition spawned every other group that you can think of at this point, from the Instincts, the Whole Boyfriend before that, really right after Jackson five, when did they come out

it seventies Yeah, I'm seventy seven, I'm seventy six. Yes, So New Edition became the blueprint for every successful group thereafter. The blueprint nothing different. This is how we're gonna rehearse. So we're sing this is how we're gonna do it. We need five the whole thing, the whole thing to be able to do that. Yea. And they're the blueprint. God damn, it makes a noise. New addition. So besides, besides new edition, who else were you listening to? Really

young Jodac. I can see it, I can see it, Jodac. Now that's a blueprint. Yeah. That was like the bad Boys are someone's well, Bobby was the bad boy, and then and then uh, and then the the three UM B B D. Of course the first the first R and B and hip hop group, which new edition. It's a new edition but in a spawn off, but never had been done before. They were the first, so they had kind of an edge to them. If you want

to say that, you know what I'm saying. And then there's no addition you have Jodac my god, Yeah, we just take a shout to join. That's because that's because so that was my makeup. When I would go to churches over you know, all over the d m V. They'd be like, you sound like a gospel Jelasy, Like you know what I'm saying, you sound like a gospel Jeltacy or r Kelly, like, you just got you know, Kelly, Yeah, let's just let's R Kelly, He said, Robert Kelly's blueprint.

I get it. Yeah, I get it. I understand. But there's there's absolutely no way that now they are the guests, right, There's absolutely no way that I can dig into my musical DNA and strip away Joe to see and R. Kelly and Brian mynight in baby Faces. It's absolutely impossible. Everyone else is like, we get it, we understand, But like, I still watched The Cosby Show, And how does it make you feel when you watch it? Do you do the lessons? Do you see Did you see the Bill

Cosby documentary? We got to talk about Bill. It's cold, We got to talk about that. It has the same the documentary. I saw the Rob documentary, which scared me. You scared me. Did you work with Kelly? Right? Indirectly? I did a song for Sharissa that R. Kelly ended up featuring on SO and I produced and wrote it and I Kelly got on it and sang so. Indirectly, UM hung out with him a couple of times. Play some basketball. You want to hear that? Would like to

hear that? Kelly? There I'm gonna try to I'm gonna try to make this short because it's it's three parts, right, all right. So we're having a celebrity basketball game. Okay, first time I meet Rob. Let's go back to that first time I meet R Kelly was with Tyrese. We call up, come outside because Tyrese's Tyres is the is the fan club president of r K. Did not know this fan club president him right now in jail number R Kelly. What do you need tywheek Tyrees? I thought

I was the big R Kelly fan. Tyrese trumps me by a thousand, okay, big of Tyres. So we the with the W and uh where is this the W? And uh yeah? Westwood, Westwood, Westwood, Yes, and this is the first time I meet R. Kelly at the W. At the W, Kelly gets off the bus, walks over to me, gives me a hug, and the only thing he says to me is a devil dead or alive, can't keep us apart. And I know what you meant by that. You're trying to say that y'all have smoked

no no for my bad. The first time you met him, he said, king of devil dead or alive, keep us apart. I know he was talking about. I know who he was talking about. Somebody was talking about, y'all know, somebody who was just keeping us apart. Because I was signed under the idea that I was the next R Kelly by the person who made R Kelly m So I knew exactly what he was talking about. But that was then separate ways and seen him again since cut to Orlando.

I think it's All Star or Super Bowl celebrity basketball game. Chris Brown and celebrity friends versus R Kelly and celebrity friends. That's it. They're announcing Chris Brown's celebrity team. It's a bunch of celebrities. It's us, right, all of us. Our Kelly comes running in with this team. They announced the celebrities for the R. Kelly team. Give it up for R Kelly Playball. It is R Kelly and seven Team goods fresh shout. None of their clothes match shoes. Is

fucked up like a movie. These these guys are not basketball players. They are criminals for sure. I know the criminal outfit. I know it. I know it. The game starts, I said, I got kills part of me. I as we needed the fans to understand what you're saying. You're saying you're guarding. I'm checking our Kelly. Okay, yes, let's go right r Kelly. Kelly decides to cut to the left. I get a pick upside my head, like a pick,

like a pick. Okay, bomb, okay, okay, boom upside my head one of them, I said, got me on that one. That's got some men still checking out Killy still checking out Kelly. Kelly cut boom, boom. Two picks from sad goon. I said, hallelujah. I'm trying to keep my ship together. So no feeling right. Kelly gets the ball, come to the basket, turn to go with him. Boom said going again, same guy. I said, cool. If that's how the funk y'all want to play, that's how the funk we're gonna play. Yes, okay,

I play football. I played basketball because I can. I'm a football player. I'm gonna lying back on the running back. I said, let's play. I proceeded to run every one of these motherfucker's the funk over every player. I'm talking cash ship to kill. Yeah, you got these motherfucker's trying to pick me. I'm you don't want he coming out trying to check me, or you can't check me on this show game, this trash check this thing to the funk out of here the whole game. I'm going crazy.

The first half. It gets to a point to where t I fresh Out comes out of the stands and says, hey, Tank, you gotta keep a cool head, bro, you gotta you gotta keep a cool I said, I'm in my mind, you just gotta. And then I'm thinking, like, am I that bad? That a hand freshout of freshout of Prinson to tell me to come down. I'm gone. Though, second half comes, we're about to win the game. Our current it makes a shot, they give him thirty points. I'm leaded,

while Wayne Williams, I'm cussing him the funk out. I'm cussing our Kelly out. I'm cussing his gooms out there like tanking a person. That's how we gotta play with our funck y'all. And Rob I'm oh kiss the ball. Two sets of stuff, win the game, Get in the funk out of here, get them out of here. Who Assi, I'm there, I'm bare. My people don't know that side of him. Guy. They leave never see R. Kelly again, never see him again. But that's on my mind. I'm

pissed R. Kelly for the rest of the time. That's how you make you know what I'm saying. That's how you make real enemies. On the basketball court, right, that was some whole ass ship niggas just picking for you all game. Nikos would catch the rebound up under the basketball court and throw it back to him so he could shoot. That's how they play. Kills gets the ball, anybody else shoots, somebody get sucked up. That's how he plays. Cut to We're in Chicago on some T G T

business again, ty reeses are all things are Kelly? He got He like, look, man, Rob really wants you to come by the gym. You know what I'm saying. Just you know that bygones be bygones, you know, make fun Rob Man. I tell him, I said that, No, don't be like that tank. You know the Kings, Yeah, the King just want to haul at you. The King. Why are you calling him the king? First of all, he you know, he's the kid, he the King. But anyway,

just right right, what are we talking about? Right? So I was like, he finally talking to me, and so I was like, out, go for the tapes, or this is after the tapes, this is before the case for the case for the tapes. You know the tape. You know that was like the people want on bootleg after the tape. After that was going there all expect that. So he was he wasn't convicted, right, I can't judge him anyway, solus. Plus, you still want to bust his ass and I still want to bust So we get

to the gym, right, nobody. I definitely told this part of the store. I leave this part out, but you know we're here. So we walk in and as soon as he walking to the gym, I'm stone wall because it's just me and tires. I know it's killed. I know he got his gunes with him. Know what I'm saying, I'm ready for whatever it is, what it is. Right, So soon as I walk in the gym, walking in with my face on, yeah, ni, he like this tank, Come on man, you know I love you. Man, Come here, man,

come here, man. And he go up to embraced me and he starts tickling me. What the fun? Now, here's the problem with that? Again? I'm really ticklish. So I'm like stop. Yes, yes, stop, you don't. It's that kind of on it's embarrassing moment, A tickling me, right. I said it was his way of making friends, and he's like, oh my god. But he was like, yeah, this that's how you got a comment that you gotta tickling because

just take a funk, you up the tank. I have no idea, girl, No, I'm not gonna do this with you anyway. I've been here so anyway, this is R Kelly's way of trying to get back at me. He put me on the opposite team. R Kelly's rules in the gym is when he wins, he plays next. When he loses, he plays next. He sounds like rules to me at all Y's world. It's world. He never right. He put me on every opposing team. Now the first game, I'm going crazy like that. It is what it is, right,

So I'm going I'm going to ham on him. But then I stopped and I checked myself. By the way, the first game you won, right, First I checked myself. I said, you know what, and in in in real life, I respect this man in real life. He is the king of R and B. In real life. Yes, some athletically superior. I'm younger, he's older, right, Let let let me let my older do do his thing. And so you let him win for the rest of the rest of the games. I let him win. I was like,

you know what it is? What he'll make a shot? Kills, I said, shot right there. I can't, boy, what do you shoot that from? You shot that from Manica? I allow you a better man. Listen, I'm not done. Maybe the ticklings something you over. I think that's what it did. It definitely worked him. I think he knows me. Cut to brother Jake Valentine comes to town. He's always my ringer, right, and I said, listen, man, Kills wantus to come play

basketball with him tonight. I feel like we're back cool again, right. He's like, man, I'm not going to play with Kels. I played real basketball. I say, I know, but you know it's it's the King. Like that reason now it's the King. You know, we get to go who like, just you know, we'll play, but you don't gotta really gotta play, like just be cool. He's like, just, man, I don't want the part that please please. So Jake said, I'm coming, let's go. So we're gonna pull up at

the gym with kels kel see me this time. Hey tanke, how you doing. Man, Good to see you. I said, that's my manager. Jay Valenceine said, your manager. He looked like you goddamn son. I said, yeah, he's aging and black. You know they on age. You know what I'm saying. Like, So, we starts to playing right and I'm telling j I'm like, j be cool. You look at him. You don't think he getting ready to do what he get ready to do. Well, he's gonna do it. I don't know where this is gone.

I'm going. We're sitting there. We played refused. Kelly win was the first game and he starts talking cash Ship told you whole asked niggas from l A like y'all like that. This shottown nigga, this shottown you. You niggas ain't Oh, He's calling us everything out of the book. Jake walks over to me and says, I'm not losing the next game. Shit, come down the court, next very first player. The next game, Jake got the ball. Three, Chuck,

come down the very next place, spending in the circle. Three, Come down the next place to the hold the funk up. Who got the pretty nigger? What do you mean you get the funk out, you get the fun in? He's so we won that game. I said, Jay, are you good now? He said, I'm good. We'll lose the rest and we lost the rest of the games for the sake of are killing It looked like he still ain't agree with you. He's still he's still he got a career.

But you know, but you know, those were good moments like for me because it's like I got to be around you know, that guy who I thought musically was, you know, the greatest of all times. You know what I'm saying in spite of you know what I mean, it's it's a lot connected to it that you know, we don't have to unpack. We get. But that's why that's why I bring up the Bill Cosby thing is because and I think you asked me earlier that I didn't know how to answer it, um saying, how do

you feel when I still see the Cosby Show? Cosby Show is still one of the greatest. It's still a cosmic show, and it made me feel ill like that I could see a positive black family on there. So

I don't think it takes away from that. So if you still love R. Kelly's music, that's but it's just the thing is the music what it depicts, and then knowing what the charges, not even what the music depend it's more so with the music enabled the power of the music and the power period, right, but the sexual content thinking that you're talking to a woman or whatever. Then knowing now, that's probably where people have problems, you know, connecting know that think it's great, but then have a

hard time. But at the time, while I was being inspired by it, I'm a kid. I don't know. Yeah, but people will see that and say, you know the headline O tank was inspired by R. Kelly and not put it in and not put it in proper context. Every R and B singer you ever run into from now, from then to now on, we'll tell you he's the guy. You can't deny our Kelly. How many rappers careers if they didn't have R Kelly on the home the hook? You gotta like, you gotta give, you gotta give, you

gotta give that, yeah, if you don't give nothing else. Yeah, that's why I broke up the Cosby Show because the Cosby Show is just it was it was it was everything we needed. It was funny about the Cosby Show. Sorry to change such a a little bit, but you notice no one from the Cosby Show is dis in Bil, not one of them. It's one character that was Denise's old boyfriend, that's it. But none of them are this

and Bill. Well, because you have to look at it like this, right, and let's say, let's say there is a monster that is Bill Cosby. Let's just say it hypothetically. I guarantee you they never got to see him. I guarantee you they never met him. Only only person they met was was a man that changed their lives for the better. Right, they gave them an opportunity to probably so somebody else wouldn't. Nobody else would. That's what they see, you know what I mean? So how do you? How

do you? How do you say something against that? If anything, you can't say nothing at all to be in support or or nothing. I don't know who you guys know, who you guys see, or who you guys have met, but the man that I met changed my life for the better. I wouldn't be the So I am the woman of the man that I am without that man, right, Look, come says Shaquillo now jokingly look says that it's not really blind. Get joking, sad, Just Stevie one is not

really blind the elevator saying, what's up? I just told you he's blind, but he can see some ship. I love that. By the way, we got one more question to Okay, sorry, I thought it was just not go on that tangent? Was that me? That's my phone, that's all. We didn't do. No, we didn't do the that's that's our phone. Actually, okay. Oh TLC or s w V. I love that. No, no, no, no, no no, I'm just I'm just cooling my drink off. I'm just have one ready. I'm going with I'm just cooling my drink. Okay,

it's cool and cute a drinker. That's w V. That's w V over T easy cocoa. We need s w B and and well Jack Jack said he could get a jack through. That's right, that's rights Coco single. And then my girls too. I just did a show with them not too longer. Love love them, love them. Last question, all right, loyalty or respect. It's a great question. It's a great question. I'm gonna go with, just take a shot. Nope, I'm anna with respect. Okay, we definitely need an explanation

for this. Respect Why because because loyalty has so many levels to it. There's so many levels to it in terms of what you require from something or someone in order for it to feel like loyalty. It just it

just varies so much. But as long as I have your respect, as long as you understand that I am who I am and I do what I do, and you can acknowledge that, I can live with that, as long as you can say, you know what, whether you whether you stay with me or not in terms whether it's business or a person or whatever it is, as long as you can announce acknowledge that motherfucker did right about me. He is what he is, he is everything he says he is. But I can live with it. Man.

I'm gonna take a shot to that though. I'm gonna be honest, even though because because you know why, we me and we solo. I'm gonna get over there. I think so. And we always say both, yeah, and we always say both to it because well that's the answer. When it was answered that way, we all it made the most sense to us, right. I mean, I'm still I'm still with both. I'm still with both because I think loyal with loyalty comes respect. I think respect comes loyalty.

They're not handed in the same sense. Okay, yeah, because at some point we have to consider self preservation, right, and so as we consider self preservation, we have to consider that for the other person, and sometimes within the interests of self preservation, you are now not the priority. M Like, I love you, but in the interests of self preservation, I can't pick you right, and so the respect takes over when you're able to come to me and articulate that I respect you. So let's let me

have this conversation with you. Whether it be a tough conversation or not, it's when there there's no respect involved where that disloyal situations can be wrong by both. You can't but respect. If you don't want to wrong with me no more after everything I've done, at least come and tell me. Don't let me find out on the streets. Have that kind of respect for me. That's that's why

I could respect. I think the reason why we would say both is because we feel when you have both, there's better chances in heah, it'll be a better situation when there's just one there, there's more opportunity can tell you it's it's it's hard to get both after it's hard to get even when you think it's usually not the both are this moment circles this moment. I can count those people on one and a half hands. Right,

let's make some noise for that. Good questions? What era of R and B do you think has is the most impactful? Nineties? And that what google should we talking about in the nineties boys men to see even before the going back to Kelly sixties and seven, Juine, Drew Hill, uh Jacket, Edge one twelve, Danielle Jones, Monica Brandy And why do you think that's the most impactful. Why do you think those groups? What did they do that you feel most impactful. I'll be selfish first and say they

made me. I'll start there, um and that was my era, That's the ere I lived in. That's the era where I put on some into pocket guest jings in the party shirt and and went to some young ladies house who was having the basement party. You know what I'm saying, And we gotta try and put the lights off, you know what I'm saying finger popping. Absolutely, what do you mean not so lovely? Just get a little bit on that figured Okay, pack my hands out. This is straight banker,

I'm big. That's my era, like where they were the last even when you know the up tempos were ruling through in the world the last hour, hour and a half of whatever function you was at. Slow jams, you got to you got to really dig in and grab them cheeks and side to side. Man, what you're doing like they're like, I've been feeling you all know, I've been looking at you. I've been looking at you, looking at me, look at you, look at me, like me,

like what are we doing? Closing one of the fights at the club after that, I always I was always jealous of your RB niggas. Because of that. You should have been like, like, my ship is ending with we all then we barty and I'm doing the best performance that with someone want to stab some nigga, I'm like, I hate this ship. I go to R because these things gotta fights. You you're so fu No no no, no, not mean that's Music's tell what you did getting a

man been stabbed? Because if you're walk through to man, you know what I was. I was to jealous. I went to a Mic Apps concert, yeah, and I just answer, just wanted to see how this ship feel, and it was all positive energy. I was like, yeah, do you know how y'all blessed? Like hip hop? We hip hop. You gotta be on point because you just feel like someone else is just gonna test you or try you. But when I go to R and B, or I go to a comedian concert and I just sit there

and there's no valid very jealous. Validation is different. Your validation is a rap sheet that's just suck up. That's funny because it's true. It's funny. That's your validation. You have to have attempted murder, being the murder can serve the drug and shot they want you to get at. He's grazy, show me the wound. Yeah, it's a survival music. It's still yeah. My validation. Let's my validation is a

woman screaming out loud. But there could be dangerous too, like hey, got wed let me just let me tell you something. When I did regg E thron for the year and a half two years i did, I was probably the most happiest I've ever been at the music because I would party and in Orlando you said on Lando earlier, Land was one of mym and we were

party and party afterwards. I wasn't used to that. I was used to party and then the party closes, something's going to happen, and I could sit there and I could just damn and I was just I was like the happiest guy. I should have been a vegan at the time, because I was just happy because because you knew to be happy and like I was just said, and I was like when I realized, then I went back to hip hop and I had to get back used to violence like that was just you have no

front ship, wasn't done a drink. I'm a be honest. I'm gonna be honest. Nine nine shows and a hundred shows of reggae through I swear to god, probably ninety nine of them. Nothing nothing ever happened. Nothing, nothing never happened, I swear to god. It's nothing to say. That's why I said ninety nine. I never said that. Was that one of them that who was that and got crazy? It's probably because when she makes nothing, y'all, yeah, it happens.

Probably crowd. I don't even do that. Inspires you to show what you made, though, But that's fuck does sheet music? That's you know, say I got a rap sheet as it in today's time, because nobody's really checking them all, not all MC's not all rappers. It's fabricated. Not all of them are rhyming about that, that's true. I mean most star nine D sound that's a percentage. Look at the charts. No charge. If you're talking about charges, that

what's the I mean? But but but that's how we're identified rights a lot of things that if they want to know the best about, that's where they look. They looking mainstream culture, right, and what is maxstream culture? It's violence, just drug dealing, is drug selling us? That's what That's what they that's what they perceived the best. Why why

is that the best of us? Why? Like Sam Smith gets to sing a great song about stay with Me that goes straight to power rotation on the mainstream radio station. If I sing that same song stay with Me, limited bandwidth. Because our violence isn't the threat our love it Yeah, our family separated, it's fine, it's perfect. The man staying with his family and raising his kids and pouring into his woman, that's a threat. You're about to be a preacher.

And that's what R and B stands for. And that's why R and B takes such a back seat, because we're not promoting the aesthetic that continues to perpetuate the stereotype. You guys are killers, you guys are animals, You guys are savages. That's when you're at your best. So that's what we're going to reward. Those are the guys who get the hundred million dollar deals. Those are the guys who fill up the arenas and stadiums to talk that ship. We love when you talk that ship love, We're cool.

We're cool. I love love you do. Wasn't love and love popular? We don't control, we don't own conglomerates. It comes down to ownership. Yeah, we don't own radio, we don't own streaming, we don't own media, we don't own none of it. But we own our feelings. And it's very seldom that people promote love and love, love and being in love well, because what happens now is that with with social media and all these other things, you get hypnotized by an algorithm, so and everybody wants to

be popping right. So in the idea of wanting to be popping, You're gonna roll with what's popping. Nobody's they're not leaders anymore. The followers like what happened in the oscars that that became immediately everybody had to post that had they want they wanted to be so bad. It's the algorithm. I'm sorry, you have a business. I got you didn't, I mean whatever. I'm just saying last night immediately, not a second past. And that means they put everybody

bom bom bom. And I'm like, wow, we live in a mean beef in that algorithm, right, And so the algorithm is is drugs, abuse of any kind, ratchet killing. It's all like it's a I'm victim of it. I'm a world star. Like I'm just looking. I'm like, you know, and I'm seeing that the headline you doing something take yeah, accidentally accidentally shoots her friend in the in the head. I'm like saw that. I'm like and I'm like, I have to click that. I have to see what that is.

So that's where we are in society, especially ours over my man Danny people. Yeah, yeah, so we could we could post some cool love shot. All you can say tomorrow. I'm in love my life. I say all the time, I'm married, but nothing's gonna get married to Nothering's gonna go more viral out here, smack of a mask. If you say, you know what, I'm gonna be honest with y'all. I got I got two bodies in Denver. H don't I won't saying that nothing would be more fun to

hell with your love. Yeah, with your love, your brown love, about your brown legs. We care about your brown savagery. Show us the savage. That's when you're at your best. I always go back to, like I think about, think about Denzel. You what he said told Will? He said, the Devil's gonna come at you when you're at your high. Of course, of course it's gonna be Would imagine didn't Tel winning an oscar for training day and not winning for Malcolm X. It's the world we're living. Yeah? Did

he did he work? Did he work? One of my favorite movies of Denzel Remember the Titans football? Absolutely, you will remember the night you played the Titans. Whether you win or lose, you don't remember this night. I used that. I used that to do you remember like the saw to night you saw Tank? Yeah? You gave me when you get lucky enough what you're doing right. But but imagine, imagine winning for being a crooked cop, being a nigger at its finest. But let's just be clear, Tank and

all honesty. He killed, that's not going to lie to you. He did, but didn't kill everything that everything he didn't. But I don't sell it for that or not anything else, you know what, I'm gonna be honest. I think that they slept on Malcolm X and they didn't. They didn't want to give that power black image. We're not giving power to black. I respect that power. What it is you're going to win in the space we think you should win in where we think you're at your best.

This is where you live for us. Now we will reward you how that works. I'm about to say, take a shot, but I don't think she'd take a shot for that. Probably not, but maybe not just as real. It's real, And I'm not listening as much as as much as the Will you know smacking, you know, smack and Chris is a thing. I'm not gonna let that overshadow the fact that Will got his oscar. He did you see the movie? Actually Smith wanted for absolutely. I

was obviously with the movie what's that? What do you mean? Because and I think I think it probably was a licensing issue because I felt like we never got to see Venus and Serena do everything that they did, and maybe that's for another movie. Yeah, you know, but I was I was waiting about Tupac. I was I was waiting to go into all the grands. I was waiting to go there because I watched all of it, and that's all. That's only when I was mad at I got to where it didn't go there. I got where

I probably didn't. There's some probably some Venus and Serena was like, now that that's ours, this story, his story. That's what I felt like. I felt like it was his story with them in it. But I wanted to see that. So was it? What was his name? Was the name of it? You can't watch that and not be like, I gotta be a better parent or create a better structure all the time. Can we take a shot to came rich? Figure? I say this all the time.

I said the other day in Queen's Bridge, I said, Yo, the first time I actually thought I saw like over extended, extended the amount of love was watching wrong our tests as father t and they I mean, you know when New York sit. So I'm from left Frac City, but I used to go to Queensbridge and go visit my friends and it was too cold for us to even

stand outside. And I would see Ron Artests and his father and he'll be throwing the ball like staring his chest and this is snowing, he's slipping, he's picking them up, and at first my first thought was this is child abuse. But first of all, excuse me. It was so bad. At first, I didn't even know that was his father, I thought because because I didn't think that was they were brothers. And then I realized, I said, yo, the same. They go at it all the time, these brothers, and

they're like, nah, that's Ron's father. So he would be out there in the snow, like I know for a fact one million per cent Ron Artest is one million percent in NBA because of his father. I got to see this ship with myself. I'm talking about in the snow. I'll be sitting there's it's too cold for me to smell cracker because I'm out there like that, and these nickers is out there. That's that was my job. I'm sorry.

That was sun cry. So I'm still handsome, Freezing. You need to go back, and you need to go back and cook Freezing. And I'm seeing him throwing the ball at him, and then they told him that's his father and I was like, so there was no When I went on to you know, become, it was like, damn, Like that was the strongest father figure I've ever seen me. And it was so strong that I actually like, WHOA. I didn't even accept it. I was like that that was wrong. And then went to the NBA. I was like,

I knew that ship bro. I felt then it Listen. They talked about Joe Jackson like that was wrong, right, They talked about Matthew Knowles like that was wrong. But guess what came out of that Richard like he was like he was crazy, he was doing too much. Yeah, relax, yes, relaxed. No, I'm not gonna relax. She told you she was gonna within it. She told you was confident. She told you why I stopped nothing with that, And look what you made. You're gonna beat somebody. Ye if I got something to

do with it, You're gonna beat somebody. M you reward that all right, King Richard, King Richard, I don't want some of this Japanese del y'all. I'm gona take another shot, Jane. I feel like you said, I'm doing the real del all. Let me yes, yes, yes, I'm doing the deal. After this, this is a rocket deli again. After that, it's something sexy to represent this print. Let me ask you something, please, I've seen you in this industry. We've been both in

this industry a long time. You've always smiling, you always in a good mood. Is that a front? Or is that really like you? Really love life like that? I mean, I think if you're gonna say yes, I know you're gonna say yes. I guess what my mother acts is. I felt out of love with this music business, not with the music, the music badness. Have you ever felt out of love with the music business? Fell out of love with the music business? You ever in love with

the music business? Oh? I have the business of it. I was in love with all of it from I signed the out on. But still I'm still in love with it anyway, still in love with the music business. I was still in love with it. I gotta get in there, and I got in and I was in love and in two thousand two I had fifteen hundred dollars in my account and the man owed me seven hundred thousand. This man is and he wouldn't give it to me. You have hundred. He owes you seven. This

calculation is crazy. Had a wife and a kid. Wouldn't give it to me. I knew he owed me, wouldn't give it to me. I tried to. I tried to hurt, said man, I'm not a gangster, not affiliated. I know people, but I'm a soldier. So for mine, I'm a ride or die for mine. And I adopted that. I tried that right, which set me on the bench for and said man did pay. Said men paid a little. L A Reid said man paid a little. Why I needed it? No, went from seven hundred thousand to a hundred. Yeah needed it.

H needed it. Caught me slipping fun this music business. That's that's my point. Like this music buss. The more I learned about the business, and I'm watching I'm first off, I'm watching the promo guy. I'm watching myself do fifty promo shows and I'm watching the promo go to the back room and grab cash, and you're doing it for free back this wait funck this up funk this fun this music game. Yeah, I'm at a house on Ved all day one day, walk into a club one day.

Let me let me me go back. I walk into a club one day and somebody screams, take look over, Jamie Fox. I walk over Jamie Fox and my hey man was like, he said, man, I've been looking for you, nigga. You look calls nigga. We gotta talk at this time. I'm having these feelings. Fuck the music business. I go back to the d m V. I'll be the minister music at somebody's church. Finished my calling to be a preacher.

I'll do that. I'm standing in Jamie Foxx's kitchen with him and his sister Dietro, and he's like, so, what's the man, what we're doing? Like, what's going on? Said, I ain't doing nothing. I'm about to go home. I'm about to go the church thing, move back into my mom's house until I can figure my own place out. He's like, you got the records out, okay record He like, You're like, you can't go home. It's the funk. I can't. He said, no, you can't. He said, what I'm gonna do.

That's what you mean? He said, Who's gonna inspire me? I'll look to you. He just said, ain't know where you're going home, Niger at the do you dream playing? You ain't going nowhere naked. We're gonna fight this, We're gonna ride this ship out, Nick, And I'm like, well what at this time, I'm kind of homeless. He's like, what you're gonna do? He said, this is what you're gonna do. You're gonna use my studio and you're gonna live in my house until you figure at the funk out. Wow.

Jamie Fox, real nigger like that? Wow? That I would love to Jamie Fox and Brian and Brian too. So if Jennie Fox doesn't say that there's no tank, there's there is no sex, love in pain? What wrong you there to say that? She was about to quick? What? What? What was? What was that moment? I saw people who weren't as good as me making it right? So the niggas ain't like me. It ain't as good as me, And you're not a hate. It's not a hater, but I compete for a living. Nigga ain't nice like me?

But there at the top of the charge. Look at them niggas, I kill him niggas every not on stage don't want to work like I'm a hundred percenter Like most people don't know what that is. Two. I produce it, write it, sing it, perform it by myself. You know, they changed they changed publishing rules for two people because of R Kelly, because the Tank. Oh, we can't have you placing ten songs on one album. We have to create thresholds, we have to create benchmarks. So at two

hundred and fifty thousand records, three songs count. At five hundred thousand records, three and a half songs count. At a million, all the songs count, but not unto then for you and Rob, because I was running through them. Give me my back end, now give me my front an. I got eight on this one hunt a per center? Right, but you do you let people right? Right? Okay? Absolutely? Why does that so accepted an R and B world? I don't know why it's not. I think rapping is

like here. First of all, I used to wrap. Everybody hates when I go into my MC hurricane upping a little. I'm gonna going to my m C Hurricane days that means you still wrap. Let's go. I'll start it off. It's a wrapper. I'm not gonna do it. I do it. I'll tell your freestyle fas, that's not what I want to go back. Just stop what I want to go back. You have the berct name for this city, Hurricane, But I can tell you I don't want to hate your

I'm already I was Hurricane. Used to when I was a kid, I would go around the hood rapping against the you know, vice lords and the g d s, and I would I would. I would in d C No in mil Walk, Wisconsin, right war in Milwaukee, Klwaukee, Wisconsin. Yeah, Wisconsin. So I used to go around the hood in battle real gangsters with my wraps. I a rap called Rated R that used to kill everything. How did rad a go? I'm not doing it with just you. Just just freestyles

horribly on the drake. Spell it will be so you know where were we going? We was used about the freestyle Hark was coming. I'm a rapper first, then I'm a R and B saying that is crazy. Most people don't know that. But I'm not telling everybody. Okay, you ain't gonna tell you. I'm not freestyling. Let's never let's get out of this, Let's go to the next let's go to the ness. Okay, why did you call it maybe I deserve, because, by the way, for years, I

call it baby, I deserve. I was fucked up today when I realized it's baby, I was like, oh, I'm just thinking this sh it wrong for years because because you were living in the affirmative, I think you're picking me up. I'm not sure, but I think you're me up, just taking Yeah, I'm just taking that's big up. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I think it's having fun. It's your fun's interview you have. Let's go read wrong as well. Okay, I'm gonna take me another show. I'm just gonna get

me ready. Okay, you're living in the affirmative, right, which means you're sure that things, these things should happen, And I was living in the speculative space, where isn't maybe maybe you should do that. I wouldn't advise it, but if so, maybe if it did happen in some way, shape or form, I could accept it because of all the things that I've done. Maybe leaves a lot of room right for for men. We need room. We need room to change our minds. We need room to be assholes.

We need room. So when she does it and she says, well, you said that, do you deserve saying maybe maybe get your ass out of here? Because I hadn't decided definitively if I was okay with that, I have thought about it. Hence them Maybe this nick is getting deep. I write songs for a living. Maybe it's a hell of a word. I'm not giving you permission. I'm just saying there's a chance I might forgive you and excuses now in real life, because in a song, you're saying that you deserve she

getting you back. Correct to wonder who's calling so damn late for you to say I'm tripping just to hold me from upstate? Don't he know it's one o'clock in the morning. You say it's cool. Maybe it's cool. Maybe I deserve for you to say he's coming into town, for you to say that he wants you and him to hang out. I don't like it, but I know I gotta trust you. It ain't cool, but I know it's true. Maybe I'll deserve for you to go out and find some other guy. Maybe I'll deserve for you

to stay out with him all night. Maybe I deserve for you to do all the things I did to you. Maybe I deserve maybe for you to put on that sexy dress, for me to ask you, who the hell are you trying to impress? Bitch, for you to laugh at all like that. I'm just splitting on some cool shit. What did you deserve? For me to ask you where the funk you've been? For you to say, I'd better

stop tripping to grab your neck until you let me know. Yeah, that's the part that flew way under the radar, so happy under the You don't run crying, crying out the door to grab my coat and chase you down the street, to say it's not you, it's my own securities. For you to say, yes, I cheat on you, For me to say I don't care after all I put you through, Maybe I deserve well, was listening to this song. I couldn't help it. I can't have said that we're gonna

suck me up. You've got the reach of the side that and that's maybe maybe you did you deserve it. Maybe, thank you, thank you, I've accepted my faith in a few situations. Let me ask you, because like, when I'm listening to your songs, I couldn't. I was like, I'm listening like this, I've been through some ship, everything is you're going through it, been through it, been through it, and once maybe I deserve worked. It led me to believe that everything about my real life will will work

from this point on. So I never wrote from fantasy or fallacy. I always wrote from fact. And you worked with Beyonce too, right, No, I worked with Kelly Okay fire and working with Kelly Rowland, she's dope. You have no idea. I had no idea, she says, a great person though she's done. It's one of the best of us. Her, one of the best of us. Him too, Yes, yes, yes,

both of them as are just amazing people. I work with Kelly Rowland, and I was completely throwing the funk off because well, we always know, we always want to give the credit to Beyonce. Who is Beyonce? Yeah, the greatest of all times? Right? We always want to notice what you said about bust the rhymes. You said busting rhymes and swift Star on stage. That's what you just said, bust the rhymes, bust the rhymes is that's that's what

I'm like. Yes, Kelly Roland is by far one of the most talented females I've ever worked with in my life, by far. And I'm sitting in the studio like, hear these harmonies? You hear? Do you hear her? Do you hear the text? Do you hear her? Her change? And do you hear are hearing this? I never knew because I gave all the credit to Beyonce. That's how the business of Destiny's Child was set up to a door Beyonce.

And then I finally got in the ring with Kelly Rowland and realized that while while Beyonce is in the booth, there's a Kelly Rowland saying, oh try this. Oh, and this notice is crazy. Oh, and there's and we never knew. She's amazing fire And I thank her to this thing for those two records. God damn make some looks for that I keep. I'm keeping the real tank. I just gotta shop. Yeah, I ain't a lot. You're a real drinker, though, are you kidding? Yeah? I don't know what I'm gonna

do for the rest of the day. But by the way, by the way, sol i've seen you. Let me just tell you how real Tank is. Maybe you'll hang out for maybe I'm to take it l A. It wasn't on the flight. No, it's in front. What I'm not gonna say because I love this hotel and I don't want to blow it up because I'm gonna be there, so you're not going back. You blow it up. So I see him, I'm like, yo, super down the Earth

and I'm not gonna tank. I don't know if you know what you're I gotta show God dream jamps And he's like, of course I know, asshole, Why would you say that. I was like, think what you're doing? He said absolutely, And you kept your word from that minute on you said no, but listen to hear me out. It's so beautiful when when when I see people keep

their word everything, but because you know what's crazy. I'm so used to the fakeness, too used to words and just seeing me and saying, hey, they just say what they say. Because so when I meet a word one, I gotta I gotta salute you like I gotta salute you because you said, what motherfucker, I pull up on you. I'll come right with Miami, no problem, and everything you said you've done. I'm a victim of people not keeping

their word. Me too, so I know how it's you know, yes, that's okay, and I never want anybody to feel that way about me. I've fallen short. I'm not perfect. Of course, I'll miss some deadlines. Absolutely, But if you ever see me and say, like I called you, you were supposed to say my apologies, I got you different, right, I'll take care of that. That's where I like to live. So when you say, first of all you say Drake Champs, first of all, I don't think you know what? Then

that means first of all, what do brother? By the way, let's just tell you something day, I'm gonna let you talk. Okay, where in this prestige this hotel? And I say you know his hand? And the god comes walking out with a moving box full of weed. It says, would you like some of this? Where in the funk do you think I'm already putting hand full of weeds? Would you like something? Why do you have? Where are the bags I put this? I'm gonna take you allgine you got

you got cheat you with respect, No, I respect. I'm just concerned that was so much of weed I've never seen that much of weed in the box, and you were gracious me. I don't smoke. I drink a little. Yes, we take no But I'm gonna be honest with you. I'm gonna tell you something. You have one of the best souls I've ever seen. Like I promise you. You know you said you came out since ninety eight. You

know we've seen each other. We've always showed each other respect, you know, but I've never kind of saw you mad. I know you get mad, don't get it twisted. But other than you and tires, that's the only one who gets you mad. I was no. I wasn't mad when when you know, when a guy was holding seven hundred thousand Okay, so that's where I but that wasn't public.

That's where that's where I went. You know, I went different, and I turned into a guy that I didn't I shouldn't have been, and I and I and I I suffered because of that. I set from two thousand two to two thousand seven, because you know, I told a guy listened before before any of those guys, you know, we'll get to your house to protect you. I'll get there before them. Now, let's work. I've been in that place. You know what I'm saying. But I really loved this ship,

nor you really love the music. I really love making music. Listen, I was doing this for a hundred and fifty dollars a week. I was doing it for a hundred and fifty dollars a week, and I was happy. I got close to six figures a show. Are you kidding me to sing? Yes, sir, having the time of my life? I'm having the time of my What you need? No? No, no, no, no, no, keep going. You keep blowing that smoke. I don't know what's happening to me. I don't smoke. Well, you didn't

take smoking. I genuinely, I genuinely enjoy R and B music and everybody doing it. I genuinely even Young Blue new guy. What's he saying again? What the song would right if I ever time? Is because we had a we had a thing online. What happened I forgot okay,

I only google the positive part of you. I didn't appreciate you for that, I thought, But you got to it, says A guy says, I think that Young Blue might be the new king of R and by well, one record to okay, my back, and I said, I'm so glad I was born in a different generation, because this generation is wild in terms of how they throw out calculates. King and Queen got go Not any disrespect to him, no disrespect for him at all at all. But do you know what goat? And what do you know? What?

Do you know what that means? You know what it means to have a guy like jay Z, have a guy like nas Drake, to have a guy, to have people, to have a Chris Brown, r Kelly, to have these guys who have to have guys who have had another name. To that that, I have to add baby Face. You've been skipping baby Face all night. Let me not baby Face, because he's the guy who I really want to be Slash Keith Sweat. We'll get to all of that. I don't think baby Face ever raised his voice. Doesn't have to.

I don't think he's yelled in his life. Doesn't have to. Ye, I don't know why he says, I give the love. I'll cook your dinner too as soon as I get home from work. This motherfucker worked eight hours, came home, fuck the ship out of him, and then cook dinner. That's what he just said. That's what he said after he got home from work eight hour shift, hard body, karate who you want to be? Who you want to be? Where were we going? But the tweet came out and

he felt a way like as if I was disrespecting him. Right. I don't think he realizes that I'm a fan of him because I only liked that song and I only want the younger generation two fight for their space and earned their space, versus just throw around to take it like you can't you can't take king or go. You can't take that. You have to earn that. But I do understand why he felt that way because but he didn't say he's the goat. No, he didn't say it them.

But what happened to We're back to that straw breaking the camel's back. And this is what I noticed in some of what he said in his response. People have been people have been taken away from his creativity and diminishing his ability to do what he does since he started. It wasn't about me, m hmm. I was just the person that came at the right time that you're CHRISTI where he was Chris Rock, did we go there? I mean I was Christal I was. I was My voice

was too much at that time. Had it been anybody else but Chris Rock, I don't think Will would have walked on that stage. But it's Chris Rock. It's too big, it's too powerful. I have to address this. So I understand why Young Blue had to address it the way he did. And I even text him before he even tweeted anything. I said, Si, bro, it's not what you think it is. I rock with you. And he's still made some more posts, which I think was probably encouraged

by some other people because he's a good kid. He's not a bad kid at all. So what actually happened this was over my head. I just didn't want I don't like me and John Queens went through this. Who's my brother, my little brother, and I love Jack Quiss. He is the king of R and B two. I love Jack Quis. He could say whatever he want to say, and I'm a support him period. I don't care what

he says. That's my little nigga, right. And somebody was somebody was calling somebody else was saying he's the king or he's the way I said, you and not the king. You ain't put enough work yet how do you pass Chris Brown just all of a sudden because and he said it's this generation, it's not a generational thing. I think he's right. Let me just tell you why what this generation calls goat and king is only different. You gotta say what you're saying, right, So what's right about that? No,

that's not right. You can see the point. I can see you know what I'm saying, because I can see them saying he is the most revered in that space at the moment, because you know what I think, because everything nowadays is at the moment in the social media come from we come from we come from pain, dudes different, it's different now. And me and Jocquis is my that's my family. I know his mom that that's the family. Like.

So we talked it out. We were able to talk about and like, I love beautiful, I love you bro, and we mean Young Blue, we're taking a shot to that. I feel like it's take a shot that we just you know, I'll just take a shot and get a little shot with you. Yeah, come on, let's go on. Let's go. Yes to R and B niggas not having me. So me and Young Blue haven't been able to talk that out yet, which I which I hope to do. Yeah, your RB niggas gotta stop. But but no, no, he

just wanted. He just won an award for Best Hip Hop New Artists. Wow, which validates my point. Now what was your point? He's not the King of Army's not the new king of R and B. I love him. I love his work. I buy his work, which which even goes even further. So you feel like he's more of a rapper. I feel like he's a hybrid. He's the he's the evolution. He's not. I think he's he's a hybrid. He's a new evolution of of everything that we've that we've done, and there is no category for him.

There's no category at the Grammys or the Soul Trained or at the BT. They haven't created the category that that that speaks to what he and so many of these new artists do. They do everything. So while I'm celebrating him, which he doesn't realize because he's catching so much flak from whatever side. My straw was the straw that broke the camel's back and he felt the need to come at me. So you feel like because a lot of the times in hip hop, we go through

this a lot um. First, I'm so happy to be here. Thank you for appreciate when I say that. But the hip hop there's so many stories of O G s not really accepting the young people. Are you thinking this? Is that the way it came off? I hit him. Here's how it started. Okay, First we he connected slightly. And then where at our R and B money runs, my bro j J runts and he comes over to me and said, O G, let's get something. Let's get something, okay. And so I said, I got the perfect record, and

I'm like, he said, send it to me. I sent it to him, and I'm like, what you think because I'm open for criticism if you ain't working with it. I sent Drake three records before he said, that's the one, right, you ain't working with it. I'm I got tough skin me that game too. By the way, keep going, keeping so fantastic because I love it. So at any point you couldn't said, oh gee, that's not the one, send me something else. Okay. He never did that. Hit him again,

talk to me baby, nothing. At this point, I'm like, got it, and I text him back. I'm like, listen, bro, in this business, you've got two things. Your gift in your word honorable. At any point you can tell me O, g I ain't feeling it, or I ain't even fucking with you right now, give me a second. Good luck. I can take all of that, but the radio silence, that's the Hollywood ship, which I'm like, don't do that.

And we all been through that very easy, and I'm telling him not to do that because I just know what it is, and and you would, you being the elder artist, you know exactly. I know exactly what that means. You don't, And I'm telling him with me, you don't have to do that. I said, but in the future, just make your word your bond. If you fucking still and if not, say so, it's gonna get you so

far in this business. And so that was my only message to him, not that I'm mad at you for not getting on my record, because well, but people again don't understand, is that I don't need people on my record. I'm a hundred percenter. My last two number ones were me a hundred percent written produced saying it's me, It's me. I don't need anybody, but I love collaborating. That's fire. I love going to to to Chris Brown studio and hearing a hundred songs in a row and being like

this nigga is cold shit. I gotta get there like. I love that. But the respect from elder to the new generation there there is a divide, and we gotta figure out how to fix that, because I only want what's the best for the new generation. You know what I'm saying, whether it be money long, whether it be whoever it is, whether it be Jock Quins, whether there's

power in numbers. I understand you want to go out on tour by yourself and build your heart ticket, you know, build your heart screen necessary five six R and B as on one tour. It's necessary. Of course. I'm a close two years in. If you want to close, I'll let you. I'll let you try it for at night. But it's gonna be heavy. Once I take these clothes off, it's gonna get different. But I'm always preaching numbers because that's how you guys did it. You guys did it

with numbers, because guess what you would do. You would get in the room, you would smoke that fucking weed. It's legal. I got a medical card on, you would smoke that medicinal weed, you would drink that liquor, and you would come to an agreement. We don't have weed and liquor in common. R and B guys only have women in common, and we're always trying to be one up. So let me ask you how long you've been married? Three years? Okay, so I'm not talking about this. You

can talk whatever I'm talk about. When you use a home. Okay, let him talk talk because I need to imagine the difference between R and B bussy, bussy or pussy. He just buzzy, he said, Pete, it's a pee because dank, I could just imagine how the tours was when you were single. Obviously, because we want to respect wife. I got my wing on, you got your ring on. We both out spide, but we had life before the life absolutely that we love right now, because they're the like

we love. We want to be married. I'm staying married. I want to stay man. You're staying marry I got. I'm not giving her half of anything. Holy ship. I don't know how to take that. Those ship stop nigger. Yeah, me and you were clearly, but when you were before you met her. I don't know how it feels to have the number. Want R and B record and be outside finger popping everything? If how was it? Everything? He said, it's different. Let me let me just coming to my concert.

Let me give me to Mattis like, wait a minute, it's been Let me help you going to do me a shot? Get your together. I need to hear this thing because I need to know and be as different you're different. Before I get to a city, I'll equated to. Now I do the numbers. For now. There are three to five there's three to five thousand women who are preparing themselves for tank to come in town. They got they got their wave caps. Maybe DA's Greece. Maybe you

know when they're getting their nails done. They know when they're getting their hair done. The y'all fit has been purchased, The nails have been manicured and pedicured. The monkey has been either is either hairless or has a landing strip. Landing strip. Not because I'm gonna get to him, just because I'm into preparation for it all. They could get lucky with anybody. Don't got to beat me. But R and B dictates that at some point you're gonna get

touched up. I'm trying to hold back my clap now imagined that all of that energy is really for me. I can pick, choose, and decide as I desire. Everybody else can deal with the rest. But a woman is hoping, she's been waiting to waiting and hoping to be chosen, because it only works if they choose. You know that, right. We can talk all the ship. We won't until a woman says it is so it don't happen. Are We're taking a shot to that real correct? But keep going

with your patience. Mm hmm. That is what I walk into. I walk into a woman being the best she can be on that particular night, just because I'm in town. How do you not partect? And she chose you? She chose you. M I come from the house of Genuine, who, first of all, was the ultimate light skin and he had good hair. You ain't gonna beat him on stage, and you can't beat him up in real life because he will beat your motherfucking asks. For some reason, I think Gene want to know how to fight. I feel

Genuine watches boxing from sun up to sundown. She always knew beat it your motherfucking asks if you think it's sweet right now, That's who I learned from. So I don't want I don't want every woman in my days, I wanted the right one. I discernment is as a gift, right. You don't gotta have every watch, you gotta have to write watch watch. I don't want every It's not even my thing. I've had threesome, spot some fives and got it. That ain't he would have kept going something and that

doesn't I don't care about that. What What What I care about is taking a motherfucker part and putting them back together again. That's what I'm different. R and B R and B money, R and B money. I think you got a fan right now? Let me we we we before we interview anybody, we listened to their music and we was in here and this is let me just say something. This is the sexiest we ever felt that. Wait, let's listen. Listen, what what are you doing it for?

You got your kids, You got either your wife or a few baby mamas that you got to make sure that the buildess covered. But what are you doing it for? So that so that the nigga would see you in the street it's say my nigga, or so that a woman will see you in the street and say, oh my god, that is him. Which one makes you feel like you are the man that you are. I'm through because you know what, because you know what through. Let

me tell you why. Let me tell you why. It's like a one million per cent tell you that me and you have probably that the exact sit fans this of course for the most part, because what I'm saying is I can tell Nigga's come up to you and say, Nigga, I made a baby to you. Nigga's come up to me and be like, I went to jail to ship terrible. It's fine, but you're my friend. I think where you're going. Okay, yes, yes, right, that's right. Come on, that's right, Dane. Now, but that's

real ship. How um. I've always wanted to have those fans. By the way, people said, nick I made a baby to your ship. It's a choice. Yes, you you are a product of your environment. Yes I'm fucked up. You product of your environment. I'm a product of my environment. Raised by my great grandmother, grandmother mother in the church, strong black woman receipt. Women opened the door, say thank you.

I'm sorry. That's why I was raised. I'm out there trying to be trying to be a gangster disciple, and it's like, we're not gonna let you do none of this ship because your grandmama gonna kill us. I gotta pitch for it. Carved in my arm as we speak, that's disciples sign trying to be it, all of it. I wanted, man, you better go home. Your grandmama may want to play. My great grandfather said on the porch. Paul lewis with a shotgun and gangs. The gangsters would

talk at the at the shrubbery before my house. He stand up on him. They stopped talking. When they got at the end of the shrubbery of our block, they started talking again. He sat out, put the shotgun. That swell, we're not fucking with you a little Darrell. You're not gonna be no gangster disciple. You're not now. Paul Louis gonna kill us if we bring you into this. I love our generations where I'm from. I love our generation. We would like listen. I love I love the stories

like that. I was there. It was there was a shotgun pointed at me. In fifth grade, that's him right there. Get him. I said, I'm not him. I promise I'm not him. That's him. Nigga, no nigga front. He said, that's not him. Nick. I'm telling you that. M hm. That ain't sexy. If that's your life, if that's what you come from, I respect it. You gotta fight your way out. What I was trying to say, sorry, because

is I love our generation. That generation that you're talking about, is because we protected our talents when we've seen somebody that's gonna make it somewhere. Kenny Anderson, Um, you know, I'm from Left Fact City, Keny Anderson from that Fact City, and I remember all the drug dealers coming together and chipping in to make sure Kenny Anderson never had to

sell a drug, never had to do anything. So he was going through college and people I thought that, like the NBA was hitting them off, but it was all my prizes, just all people from my hood, was just making sure that you want to roll that gag, you know, go have this that goad, and that's not that's this generation that you just how I stayed there, I would have turned into a guy, right inevitable. Two cousins dead from murder m first cousin. He beat that from how

he did it. He home God, bless God, bless um family. There were the guys we understand family like own bracelets. Five years, two years, three years too, his family right. I would have had no choice. That's what I'm supposed to be. I'm overachieved, so I win. We said that I win. Father said to my mother, I love you. With my family back, I'm staying in Maryland. I need you. Took me out of that to that. So your father

and your mother broke up. And then your pop said, I need that, I need that, I need you, I need them. My pops, don't man up. I'm in the in intentury or dead. Pops said, no, I need that. And then that's when y'all move to a decent station on Andrews Air Force Base. And he gave me the whooping of my life, the beating of my life. That changed my life. What did you do? Seventh grade? We go to the principal's office for the I don't know tiph time, maybe ayby more. She says, if you take

him home, I'll pass him. Just never bring him back. Wow, don't ever bring him back here. I'll pass him. I was that guy, got to ask you what you did everything? So the teacher, I'll whoop his ass. Tek me to deal with your father. Take him home, never bring him back, and I'll pass, and I'll pass. What great are we talking? Seven seventh grade? That said grade I dropped? It was I was an animal. If they won't do it, I'll do it. Then they scared, I'll do it. Punch the teacher.

It scared. I punched the nigger. Oh are you making love music right now? Sir? You killed that? How far you killed that? That's why you're making Take him home? Never bring him back. My father looked at me and said, cool, I got him at the beating of my life. He bungs you home. He probably What's what I need to understand. Was it extension cord? You want black beatings? Extension cord familiar as I But yeah, we got well to everywhere and that next year, Now I can get detention once,

and then the year after that, I found God. You never had to worry about anything. I just see my mom's this weekend, and my mother said I was the only child that she didn't beat you. Yeah, I was on what my friend you know about coming I don't know what did you felt it? You felt it? He didn't know anyone laughing? Any want to know this? Just nick want But I said it was Eila, and she said it was either you tricked me too much. Baby. This is my mother. By the way, Oh well, you

know you would act, you would ask swift. Then my sister comes out and says exactly what he said. You should have been catching on. He was foul. I don't want, but this is a famous story about me in my hood, how I jumped off the fifth floor? What all right? The police came, right, and so my sister tells the story. By the way, I've never told his story because I don't really think people care. Right, I got this, I

got this. So yeah, so my sister said, a story, listen nor we jumped off the fifth floor because the police is coming from him. So I'm like, all right, cool, we're laughing whatever whatever we feel me did me come out? And this this is this is my only astortionists ever in life? Is this lady name show extortionist? Yes? She just stort to me every time she sees me. I don't want to say why, but um with your every

time I see on it whatever. And then she sees me and we're filming, and we're filming, and she goes all that gangster rap ship he'd be talking about. I bet you I don't know about when he jumped off the film flaws like the people we are sitting there filming, like, oh, this story is legend. So I say that, Just say I'm a motherfucking legening man. That's all we need. Let me ask you. I want to always ask you, what is your relationship with you and John? Yeah? I don't

really have a relationship with John. I remember walking in I remember we were doing a ski a ski resort trip, met him with headliners Yeah and the ski resort, ski resort, and he was going to yeah, Upper New York, Okay, and he was going after me, which I didn't think was the right. But I was like, you know what you shooting. I'm gonna kick his right. I did not know. I did not know he's gonna I'm a killer, right. So I come back from the ski resort, which is an hour and a half away. M hmm. We went

and eight at Applebee's on the way back. All that, and we get back and Johams in the lobby in show gear and and he's just before and I was like, oh, shoot you on the white niggas. He's like, now, I'm gonna let you have that champ. What do you mean? He's like, I ain't feeling it tonight. You know what I'm saying that you do your thing, baby. You know what I'm saying, like it's all good. I said, what do you mean You're not going? No, no good, I'm good.

I ain't got time for that tonight. He was the first guy I ever seen saying I don't feel like performing tonight. Good luck. But it feels like you're saying you felt like you don't feel like performing with you. Nope, what about me? What about you? What about me? What about nobody? Jahim literally marched to the beat of his own drum. If I don't feel like performing tonight, I'm not going to perform. M hmm. Period. That's gonna be a business mess. No, it's just it's it's it's here.

I'm not saying he was threatened by you. I feel like, I'll be honest, I feel like you're saying that, but he's not saying that. That's what I'm saying about that part. Most things are threatened by me because that's what you said. That's a fact. Niggas don't want to perform, don't want to. I got work because I don't just sing it. I write it and produce it. Honey, my ship is over sixty million out in the streets. So but he's not

a guy that was concerned about that. He was a guy that was like, I'm gonna do what the funk I want to do when the funk I want to do it. M he was the first guy I've ever seen like that in R and B that said I'm gonna do what the funk I wanted to do. That's what Mack quietly, what made me want to do it? I told my manager Ja I said that that won't kill us, right A right, if it's right, we'll go. So not right, we won't. I asked Twitter Tank who

was he against on versus nobody? You're asking the wrong question, kim Puis, I said, okay, you're sorry, kim Pits. You should have asked in Spanish man, who can do what the funk I do? Kim Putis, I said, who can write it, produce it, sing it and go number one? With nobody else in charge? Nobody else producing it, nobody else writing it, nobody else doing anything? Who else? Name one? Alligan can't kill us. I just want you to keep going, sir.

You're saying place produce it, screaming no you can. I'm that guy. I can do it all and welcome to his studio by myself and walk out with an album and in Spanish English and in Spanish by myself, and go number one. So it's not the question is who's better than me? Who do you know? They can do that? Only one guy that was close. He's locked up. Okay, they got us jump me to beat me. They need the best producer, they need the best writers, They need

the best choreographers too. To jump me by my motherfucking self, to name one? Taking a shot? Put this, put the liquer down. Who no name one? Dream? We need you, bro. He was talking to that ship earlier. Nobody who's gonna produce it, write it, sing it, go number one by himself? You name one? I'm going then ask me who the king is. Don't ask me that. I don't nobody to do what I do. Clap for that. I'm now gonna start of seeing a look at the story deal the story I see him do and say I want story

do I want to? Not in past? Its right now. So right now, you're not bab your hand. I'm not battling nobody. I don't leave a break. God, maybe you could do it from that. Listen. I'll tell you honestly, I can't be R Kelly in the versus. Okay, that's hard. I can't so who you want? Who you want, like if Swiss, there's no there's nobody. I can't beat R Kelly in the versus. He is R Kelly. I can't beat him in the versus. In terms of who I am.

There's nobody who does what I do. There's no producer, songwriter, singer who does what I do. There's nobody, Like, let's say us sure is the product of Jermaine dupri Confessions is his story. It's not. It's not us your story. It's his story. It's just it's be Cox at the produce, Brian Cox producing at that they gotta jump me. It's it's at the top of their game there. It's for people against me. So what about this song for song?

Never mind song song for the song? It's five niggas on the song first me by myself as you against you on versus. Let's go tyrenks. Don't write or produce. He not me? I right for Jinua one. He not me. He's my mentor he's not me. Who's me? Listen? I gotta keep my ship straight? Who produces it right? It sings it? He's not me. You don't produce ship tree and no produced nothing, I thought, dreams nothing. I'm here from start to finish. The kick, the snare, whatever the

pad is, whatever the memory line, that's me. I'm him your because there's only one Guy's goake it because there's only one guy. Because you're popping wow ships like a guy. You gotta take it or don't count. He's in jail. That could come close. That's what he came to me and said, they need to learn that ship you're doing. And you and your manager beat him in ball. When you want to beat his ask me and h he never wanted to give him the games. But let's not get it twisted. R Kelly is the king of R

and B. Let's not get this ship twisted. Let this be your headline. R Kelly is the king of R and B. Whether you like it or not, I'm not don't need anything that he might have done outside of the real legalities. He's piano bitch. She's like a motherfucker. Who has believed I can fly? You stop it. I can't believe who has believe I can fly? No, no, no, no, who has done who has fiesta with jay Z the Goat a biggie. I don't care what you say, we will we will always be chasing the ghosts of our Kelly.

I don't care how great I feel like I am. I know I am r. Kelly said, nigger, you got that falsetto. I don't know how you do that. You gotta teach me that ship. I respect it. I'm not him yet. I'm not him yet. I'm not I'm a problem mean that music. Let's music very musically. I am not him. We don't want to become him. Not him, right, Okay? You know Fortunate the Batchell thing, that's a Kelly. He wasn't going to give that record away. They said, in order to make do on your deal, you gotta give

that to Max Will let him let him fortunate. Fortunate have you? Girl, I'm surprised I heard. I don't know what Kelly that was? Life live my life, life, life, Live, life, Live. That's a give, that's our killing, fucking kidding me. I got, I got a million miles before I beat him. He's the bar okay, none of he's on the niggas fun with me. He's the bar okay. How many people you think is right in R Kelly and jail right now?

Like from R and B people A bunch a bunch, So no one really cut him off in ya world. I separated myself because he wasn't a friend of mine, be honest, and once you beat him in ball, he didn't like you. He's not earlier. He wasn't a friend and manager manager wanted to beat him every time. Every time. I wanted him to be a friend of mine. But because R. Kelly was R Kelly, he was the tip of the food chain, so he was like anything beneath

me is beneath me. He really wasn't a nice guy, so he didn't sunk with me, but he foke with me. He foke with me because he knew what I was. But I'm not gonna give it to you, nigga that I earned it. Nigga old school wasn't that guy, and I respect him for it because I didn't want it given to me. Of course we all do. I wanted to beat you, nigga. I didn't get a chance to beat R. Kelly. Fans call me King, fans call me all sorts of names. I didn't get to beat the guy.

I didn't get to beat R. Kelly. He beat a lot of ship right now, how did you get to beat him? He's the guy these things are Kelly Kelly was That was the headline of the arena tour. It was him. I didn't get to beat him, so I can't. I can't assume a title. I can't. I'm the General of R and B. That's the title was given. That's I'm in the filipedia. Then your nickname says the general. I'm in the field to sit on their thrones and

watch people do battle. I'm in the field. But by the way, there's very few people who worked with Aliyah and R. Kelly. Listen, I'll say this Aaliyah gave me all the confidence I needed to step into this thing called R and B. Because before that I was just a church kid, singing church music and singing church and that wrong with being nothing wrong with it. But I wasn't ready you're a I was green. Aliah told me you're ready, You're ready for this ship, and like nothing

valid Okay, get my a shot ready. Nothing validates you more than a woman real. When Aliah says you're that guy, all right, that makes all the difference in the world. Nothing trumps that. And when she said that to me, I tuck it and I ran with it. I said, Leah said it, so keep none of y'all funk with me. I don't care what none of y'all say. Elijah said, I'm him. Yeah, we'll funk what you say. I'm him. Because Elijah said so in genuine gave me. He gave me the He gave me the battle him. Let's just

be clear, you are my shot, is right? I don't not right. He gave me the battery. Shout out to Jine, Shout out to Tyrese while vocal battle wrest in peace to Eliah. Yeah, vocal battle you Tyres. When Elia said you him, yeah, you know you him? You are him guy Tyres tried to battle me in his early days, said Nicky, you're not me, I'm him. Kicked his ass. How does a vocal battle go? Run for run? So what do you it's not that, it's not that, it's

not that, it's not what he just did. I promise you, it's not tarres to tell you we wouldn't run for run on the e O L Elements of Life video, shoot we want note for note And I said, this is why I'm different. Mm hmmm. And he said, and that's when he became my friend. M Eliyah said, you're different. I got you. This is what you should be and everything she said I should be, that's what I became, nothing less. I become nothing less than what Elijah said

I should be. And Genuine is sitting at his house, rich with bags of money, saying, that's my son. I told him he was gonna be that. It's fire. That's what the funk I am. So when these niggas started talking about King and all this other ships they're talking about twenty two years in, I'm number one right now. Come see me, nigga. I love this. You know why I love this. I'm gonna tell you why I love this, because um, you've given us all you this is one

million for saying you. And I watched the interviews on the Burthos Club. I watched it and I was so happy to meet you. That I mean to see you that day, not to meet you, that to me and you and then for you to bring your whole energy into fruition like like I said this, wrappers will out of me and say and I called him good, you know whatever, But you kept your word from the minute we've seen each other again reconnected and I know for one million but sent you're a real person and I

just want to salute that. I just want to get you your flowers. I also want them before you say something, but I also want one thing to tell you. Thank you A whole legend out my nigga niggers like I cause just a tiny bit of what I'm here is sometimes you're still fighting for something that's already given to you. We all respect you, we all salute you. We all know like you that guy, We all know that. You

know what I'm saying. And you know what's crazy about us is the more money we get, you more whatever, and sometimes we try to fight for something that's already ours. You know what I'm saying. I had to learn that. I had to learn that is you know. Um, so many people keep every time I go on Twitter, They're like, we want people to interview you and e fan because y'all give out flowers, but as y'all turn to get the flowers, and and my response is, uh, when we

give out the flowers, that is all flowers too. You know what I'm saying, That as all flowers too. And I just want you to know Tank, your music is endless. I've studied you, know you. I consider you my friend, but I studied you because I wanted to be like and what I said is like, damn, this is probably the last R and B real person like left. We love you, we respect you, we honor you. And it's in case you've never knew the ship that you do matters? And

I've been studying you for since I've seen you in l A and I was just like, I was like, damn, is that people making real music, real music feelings where you feel it in your feelings. And I gotta give those people power. Yes, I got to use my moment as I am number one, It's not just about me. How do I empower the next artist to be number one on R and B radio? How that's the point we went to, good shot. I have a little bathroom,
