I always say he doesn't get the credit he deserves, but from the streets, he does get the credit he deserves. The streets recognize them. They recognized for the brilliance that he's been a part of. Phenomenal people's career is like the late, great legendary DMX.
I believe he created the wave as well. Uh, he definitely smokes our these doesn't caught the body with me and we threw the body in the drunk uh form likes of Cameron to Mace to or whatever, baking a lot of music. You know in the nineties when you were out that ship meant something. That ship was it was. It was an error. And then for him to keep going, him to still be here, still be the person that he has he is. We are gonna get all in
his business today. We're gonna ask about anything, you know what I'm mean, from the wave to whatever whatever to And in case you don't know who we talked about, we talked about motherfucking Dame. Now let's take it from the beginning, because when we first get at Me Dogs, is you produce get at Me Dog? Yeah? Okay, okay, So for the first time we've seen DMX get at Me Dog. You described describe that situation, um, but actually kind of go back a little bit. Okay, Um, Mary
had told Puff about the locks. Okay, you know what I'm saying. That's when the Locks got signed a bad boy and me and Mace came from from from Hall up to Yonkers because why I kept trying to get me with my beats up to Yonkers for the Locks of Excellent ship, you know what I'm saying. And then boom they got signed. And then I saw him. He was like the young Niggers and bad Boy running around
and Big was like in the next room. He was doing this one to Ductor who you know what I'm saying, Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know what I'm saying. So he like, you know, he was, you know, locks just got signed. He's just got signed. Dog was running them around like he always said, robbing with the dog. You know what I'm saying. That ship. So um, we was like we was young and a puffers dick in the beach, you know what I'm saying. So um, we was in there locks to the joint
with Big with Biggie, you know what I'm saying. And he was like, oh, we're getting close, We're getting close. And then um, I think Pocket put Off hit him up and we was just fun. It's like, oh fuck, he was in bad Boy. Studios were saying yeah man, Like he was like, damn man, we ain't gonna make it. Yeah. But it was the older Jeeves, you know, and you know all the Brooklyn you know what I'm saying. So they was all we was like the little niggas like
now you know what I'm saying. But we actually happened to fly out there with them and ship um when Big I did get killed, you know what I'm saying, Yeah, CALLI you know, and when we came back, that's when we maybe always a love Bi Papa, you know what I'm saying. We had did the record first and then um, we was like, we can't put this out. We don't want, you know, for the family think we try to monopolize
on trash situation. So we gave the record of Pup first, you know what I'm saying, and it was like that we always loved Big Papa Papa. Then Puff heard it and ship him and on there was crying. It was like, yo, thank you, okay, people do so I love Big That was my ready first record. Let's make some choice for that because at the time we heard it at Me Dog, it was so much of a new sound, so much of a new style, right that I thought that that
was your first record that I've been used before. It's used season what I'm saying, Yeah, you know so, um, all right, all right, um this record get at Me Dog? You produced it. Yes, you noticed as a monster. Yeah, now because I don't tell you. I knew it was crazy because I get the little pre stories with the story. Okay, first of its niggers to start of someone to mix sape like locks, Mason, Dog, you know what I'm saying. It was like, yeah, we're gonna eat these things. And
then we attempted to recreate it. Not recreated, but we're like, we're gonna do another post cut. And that was getting at me dog. The first version, the first version actually had Chic on there. No, the first show was all all of them. It was all the locks and X. He did a whole another white label. Yeah, she'd we put it and put it as a remix. But it's a very original version. And I saw eating the clue tapes.
She was like, we got these that he wanted to go do lo Yeah now not right there, right right. And then it came see boom. Then EARV got the position at death gym boom and herb. It's like yo, leo, he got to sign this nigger boom boom boom, and the momentum was going so crazy with dogs on four three to know it was twenty fours. A little first, that was the right live right, and that was eating them niggas like, oh my god, he got in the mud. He was the only one who got the money right.
Else stay pretty money. He in the right. He was different. So that yeah, so it's like boom we started doing that. It was like shoot the momentum, the momentum like yo, hit three verses only get at Me Dog beat? All right, so we're the same beat and that's to get at me Dog. That you know. I'm not gonna lie to you. Um, that was my that's my year, best year in my life, seven gold. Yeah, best year in my life. All that set up that you're saying that was happening. I saw
none of that. I saw none of that. All I saw was what the fund is that get at Me Dog? When that ship dropped. And then the fact is, I don't know whose idea was was The video was black and white, so I think it was definit chairing my hype. I was pissed about the video. Listen, listen, I'm not gonna lie. I got a video bad from TV. I hate band from TV video, But it actually does work right at least you can see get at Me Dog.
You can't even see bad from TV you, but I learned like like like making it look funke up like that. So so when I see the actual video, I said, hype Whims did because it's not doing a cheap video, it's that it was black and white. So right now, I heard you say that earliest you when you see the video, you're like fuck yeah. I'm like, you can't see me, you can't see nobody. But I get it though. Over the years, I'm like, oh, it was the electricity. Yeah, like, oh,
I got it. I think the videos would help carry the record EVENU because the visual to go with the sound, right, he made it look electric. And this is the time missy videos he's shooting Bustard come out with you like, damn, this is there's nothing, it's just the time of black. Yeah. He did what he was supposed to do. So now this whole first album, when I look at the credits, it's mostly you, p K Swiss, am I missing somebody or earth her. Okay, all right, so you're creating this album,
describe to describe to us what's going on? Okay, Um, quick little flashback. The reason why I'm like, wow, you know he came down to home. To nine. He was like, Yo, man, we need job beasts with these you know, with these cats. We got the yarkh who's coming down? He said, Okay, yeah, I knew why Kim first. Okay, we just know him as why he's hitting. He's like, Marsha, we don't know, you know, Marsha, I love minem to. He showed us it was poor white people in the world, especially from
New York. It's like, exactly why I came down, and yeah, why I came down to the block. He used to come a couple of times like yo, man, get down with us. Man. I'm like, now out and were getting home. You're getting money, you know what I'm saying. And then he came down one time It's like, Yo, you better get down with us. Oh ship click, you know what I'm saying. That big spak we pulled out. You know what I'm saying. He's like, Yo, chilling. And then I
was like, yeo, this thing is crazy. You you would get shot to get me the yunkers wo me a big sense said Yo, let's go to young. Then that's the Locks came out first with Casino, so always there was for them. You know what I'm saying. He came out, can't can't, can't get me a bit like he's niggas is fired. You know what I'm saying. He kept saying, Now we got to find a big dog. He's out doing crazy. Ship. We gotta find him. And was always the big stuff. They knew that locks the pups, know
what I'm saying. Right then, Um, then about tom Dog came to the the studio. You know, you know you had knew the dog before. They don't know. So this is your first time meeting the dog. You have a dog with him at that time. I don't know. I don't know because why dog Grudge was always around and if dog did have a dog, it was because Grudge was one of them. Like I'm talking about him sitting down his towering over this motherfucker, big big Brooklyn dog. Now
he's just looking a ship like over there. Yeah, you know know what I'm saying. So be a cat person to be down with rough riders. It got to be official, officiated. It can't be no running dog's not no fucking skinny as big And if you don't lose the fight, he got to get dirty cool. But at the same time and ship, you know what I'm saying he came to shooting. He was super hyphi. You know what I'm saying. He had books and books and books and books and books
and wraps. You know why with all the books, all the books, he will move every time with the whole library. He wasn't like like I'm going somewhere, I'm taking a book. No, he moved with the library, probably to the company with all his crates exactly, you know, because he from the ever what I'm saying out it with all that ship what I'm saying, so boom he had come and then like he like, you know, while I was like, you spit that one from him? This, I'm like, cool, and
he's spitting that for you. Yeah, okay, I'm like, who spit that one for him? Do? Do? Do they? I'm like, oh, probably two verse. I'm like, hold on, say that to this. I'm like, oh, we got something, we got something, right, I said, say that other one to this beat boom, Oh we got something that other one said to this beat boom. I'm like, oh, yeah, we aren't here now,
we're in the pocket. We're in the pocket. Because my beast was always theatric and he's theatric so it was like a match like the hip hoppy hoppy hoppy ship, you know what I'm saying. He rhymed to it on freestyles and coming up, but it came with that gothic you know what I'm saying, you're not a body and the trump what I'm saying, it's like gothic in Metropolitan. When he came with them balls and I came with that, it was like, oh, ship got him, you know what
I'm saying. Then EARV got the fucking position. It was like, oh we in the IRV. I ain't going I gotta give hervos props to should he give he tap dance? And I think he almost got fired trying to get get, trying to get dogs like you ain't signing my quick and you was like, damn this students passionate, come on, it's going to yonkers. And that's when Dog had a broken jaw and you were there that day. I was playing the beats. Oh Nix was trying to leave my name out of ship out here with all that, you
know what I'm saying. So I'm playing the joints. He cutting down, cutting, could only the old meal and ship for months, Wired, Yeah, Wired he was the first he was to wire. Yeah, he was the first one. He was breaking a little bit and get a little more. Yeah, thats crazy. Yeah, it's just amazing. Like I feel like I was there. I heard it from lear heard it from I'm playing cutting cut. I don't even know that he was used to or he was just it's dope.
You know, you'll you'll catch it all right, Like it was a beat playing right now and I'm gonna fucking he kicks some ship. Yeah. I think DMX like me more. When I stopped rapping, you became non competition at school. I think that's how much of a competition guy. You know, I'm not gonna lie like it was a little different. It's hard for me to have friends and ship. You know. I'm around in prim time because we get nobody, no beats, something like naked. I gotta move around a little bit,
like come on, you know what I'm saying. That portfolio Yeah, like, you know, come on, man, I love the squad, but I kind of here. I had to come to Queens. Yeah, that's all right. When I googled you, something amazing came up and said Harlem. But it's that born in the Bronx. Yeah is that the truth? Okay, Yeah, I'm boring. Okay, born in the Boston Bridge project. Okay, my mom s CARDI from projects. That gives me a little extra primeness. Okay, yeah,
you know what I'm saying. You know, we will be flash, but I still wanna like a little more me and cousin to talk about that and ship. So you might be richer than the still might get stuck. So so during the during the course of time, I started to think of something the other day, knowing that if I had you here, and I just want to be straight up and just asked the question right like, I don't remember seeing you and Swiss in the same room, and over ten years, only time I can think of you
and Swiss being in the same room. Was it like at that time? Yeah, And I don't know. This is a question. I seriously don't know. Like I know, I'm close to both sides, so I should know, but I seriously don't know this. I swear to go. I swear to go if if you want to take my fingers not crossed, none of that, you know that funny? I swear I don't know the answer to this. Why is that though like, okay, I did well, it was a
little big paper I did. If you think I'm jiggie, five cuts from the money per respect boom, I didn't get out me dog, numerous cuts and corpro duce on like these thirteen cuts on uh, it's Alcohelo's hot. They with the keen time for flushing my flesh the blood the blood, right, you know what I'm saying. I was getting kind of veto okay, but I was getting kind of blocked. Yeah, I was getting kind of blocked because rough outs with my management. I wasn't a rough frauther
of producer, you know what I'm saying. So at the same time, like my phone call stopped coming through the office on I'm like, yo, I got just so seven million records collectively a matter of fact. But on you it's a little bit popular beast sign and miss you know it's like six million money properly respecting from one point five Dog went about three out the gate all
that underwear management, you know what I'm saying. So I'm at the beginning of them starting flesh of my flesh felt Vito, I think you said, yeah, Like my phone calls wasn't coming through from you, the management. Yeah, so I had to go a little deep cover. Okay, you know what I'm saying. I spoke to I think I spoke to so so death. There was like, yo, he says, you're not doing be some more, hold on, hold on, okay, and then they're insinuated this is coming from your camp exactly. Okay,
from my management. Okay, Wow, you know what I'm saying. So the same time, and it actually it's written in blood, you know what I'm saying, the same time I'm doing flesh your flesh, if you know the Swiss of the majority of flesh my flesh and different things. And I did one song It's called Dogs for Life, you know what I'm saying the same time, and Dog was catching the the the the vibes. He just made the song
for me. Robert still with your dog nink it would right to me, think blood, you know what I'm saying. So with the one song that they don't flesh my flesh, Dog just you made it for me. Okay. You know what I'm saying that. You know Greece, Nick, I'm here. You know what I'm saying. Besides, with the politics is you know what I'm saying, but actually Swiss is successful to it. Let's not get it to us right right? No word? Yeah yeah, yeah, Actually was the best thing
to happen to me. You're not being a part of flesh, of my flesh as much as you wanted to be. Na. Just really it made me to an individual producer. Okay, like yeah, it made me to like iron grease, you know what I'm saying. That came after that, Yeah, came out. They focused say okay, let's set over. Okay, all right, I said, that's my flesh. You're feeling a little crazy. But you don't get word. You get word from social death. But did you add a goal to your management and
say what's going on here? Like? Um, not quite? Okay, now quite he took so so no no no no no no no no no no no. I got it from the office downtown, Michael say, specific name is up with the ladies working there. It's so funny ship going on. They're sending your phone calls. So another producer, so it's forth like, oh but the cap all this up pulled up to jay Z. Clip jay Z said the loll in one shot. Okay, what clip is that? And clip that jay Z put up because actually I'm so glad
Jay did. I'm like, I gotta tell this storry numbred. But Jay was like, um for one of his albums, like, yo, I went to the dude doing all them records, Uh, Dame Crease that produced the stock and hell of Shot and then um, that's just smelled good too, right then? Um, J was like, you know, I wanted I wanted Dame Crease and then he sent me the Nephew, but now I want to Crease. I'm like, nah, I can't be sitting what you're doing, you know what I'm saying. So
at the same time, you know what I'm saying. You know, Jay kept the Fisher like not but mean enough for We did some hits, you know what I'm seeing. We did some ship you know what I'm saying. But I can't front. I went to work with Fat Nigger. So that was one of the phone calls that got redistributed. Did you ever get a chance to work with the whole one song? Okay, um Freeway, big Spender, Hey, big Spender. You know what I'm saying. Okay, that was the only time.
It's the only time. But we actually we always have great, good dialog, especially on the toys with dog and everything. Great dollargue there always give me a lot of great insight. So this is for people that don't know, and obviously me, I'm a part of that and they don't know. So flush of my flesh comes out. Another successful he has too number one albums in one year. You guys know each other from back then. You did feel a little Vito like you said, how do you black ball? Black ball?
So how do you amend this? Like how do y'all come back together? No dog? Dog never ever ever dog. You never saw it as him. Dog never ever love my nig. He always kept it to billion with me. Always crease some new album, pull up if nobody else wanted me to. His movie scores Greece. I'm doing a movie called X and wounds, come through the score, the
whole score on that, Greece. I'm doing a movie called Credit to the Grave, Come through the score and that you know what I'm saying, and all the main things. So he will always keep me involved. But all his projects or anything he was doing, but yourself. But earlier he said you felt black ball. You can't feel black ball that they're doing scores no, no, I was black
ball in the almost society in your own camp. You're saying, no, you know from the rough fry of situation was a little yeah, it was a little like, uh, I don't know, but from X there's DMX. Let me just ask you thought it was Swiss himself saying no, I don't know. Never no never never, I never never never never never. I'm actually actually quite proud of Swiss. Okay, but ye's just having beat competition. That's what everyone had at that time.
Not quite what's I didn't always having to beat competitions. Okay, I'm just cranking and doing dope shit. I don't know. It was, uh, competition and the door behind you ships coming, it's always coming. No, I just got just do dope shit. I ain't know. It was like getting the closest door behind you. It's times sometimes yeah, you know, it happens like that. I don't say sometimes it is like that, but sometimes it happens like right right, Wow, this is interesting,
this is interesting. Now I just don't through. Man, it's dope. It's still a movie still filming. So so what's part of the un d MX is going back together on his albums because I know you said that the soundtracks the third album. The third album was X Okay, you know what I'm saying, Uh, that album is super successful too. When I came in on, came in on d XL with the locks and drag and damn what the record on that faint my you know what I'm saying. Yeah,
it came in on Area boom. You know what I'm saying. That was a third album. Okay, fast board to the new album Excellence. Yeah, that's it right, excedus right there, right, yes, um, would you on there? Okay, what did you think about the album? It was politically correct. That's a politically correct answer. You know what I'm saying. I don't. I don't have to know he loved the album. Yeah, I don't. I don't. I don't like and trust me like social media and
all that ship. You ain't know what are your beach is the harder sould accident everything. You know what I'm saying. I need to had to put up a post. It's like if I'm on this album but not support my motherfucking nigger, I'm not with all that that that that ship. You know what I'm saying. I know it's kids but why are you saying family correct? Um, you got to
think about it. Actually, Swisses as a a it's a good name and uh a good brand, so it's only right for him to push it and put things together to get what you know what I'm saying. It could be you know, gotten gone and even bringing all the celebrities evolved to supporting and different things. It's done real good, you know what I'm saying. But politically correct, that's that's like something different. I mean I was expected hot cool, No, I mean it's hot, you know what I'm saying. But
I'm saying, like what literally correct means? Not only am I producing ship? You know what I'm saying, I'm the president too, So I'm gonna look at things like and even if I'm not producing on it, I'm gonna look at things like, Okay, the marketing on this ships eight plus, I like the way the cook down. Okay, these things
right here. So it's I learned that from check. You know what I'm saying, Just the things just to make sure things selling and get to where they need to be without the ego of just me being on it. I asked you something else in that vein what do you think that album would have sounded like had X been here, because I think he was heard a lot of it, but now it was different. Yeah, it was different.
It was was completed. The ALBUMA came out. It's not the Zach version, and he was working on I know there was a record that he talked about that never made the car all the record spoke about one Champs actually made it. But there was a record that everybody kept saying, Yeah, the pop Smoke record. Oh pop smoke Okay, yeah that was probably yeah, Okay, damn, that's right. I forgot that, Okay, Yeah, I smocused on that beat. But for the most part, like I heard, I heard it.
I didn't hear when loud Wayne was on the record, and I didn't hear the Nas and the Jay record, Like I didn't hear that at all record for like four couple of years. It sounds you know, it sounds like locks joint. Know that this is what my dogs and you know what I'm saying, Actually, I see you. Bront So. You even did an album with riff Raff. Yeah, was that bag? Like that was it was independent? It was independent still a back Yeah, it was half on an independence. Um we did as a mix sape. First.
You know what I'm saying, we did see Now that was See that's different. Okay, Yo producing locks and x YO fan base comprise. What are you doing? Oh my god? Yeah, oh yeah, I could imagine they was shooting me up like crazy. See I met Riff, you know what I'm saying, but Andy Midical Lockers and I'm probably yeah, probably you know, dirt Nasty, Yeah, the White Weird three amigos, and I did the track for them. Riff was like, you got more of those? I'm like, yeah, you know, so, I
wasn't really aware of his fan base. I saw to do some reach like that because they got like a cult following. He got some whole ship w w F type of So I'm like, you know what, now I'm gonna go in. I shocked the shut on me. You started doing an album and he was just like going ham and his way him. I'm like, oh he is,
And I was listening like Yo. He looked at a lot of TV as a kid, you looked at a lot of You could tell he was just in in the crib looking at MTV, looking at I'm going Connie like Chung spitting on the type of wild bars and Ship and then um, when the project came out, you know a lot of people was like, yo, Greece, how you do that? You know the Locks and X fans, you know, how you do that? How you make me like him? In fact? How you do that? What I'm saying?
And it just was a whole different uh music, you know that. It was like it was cool, you know what it was differently Ship because I mean, like, you know, we're dog in the lock. We killed everybody, killed half of the world, catching kill them in And I'm like, let me do so. How do y'all tip through the group? Through that group? Yeah? Okay, Actually I'm honking saying, um, my man, Big Chuck, Phoenix, Server soon and Ship. You know what I'm saying. He throw the shows, He got
the store out there, and he hooked it up. I was, I was, well, you know, I was living the Phoenix for I was like, Yo, I'm hooky over with dirt. I was living out the X to right. Yeah. I first went out there weeks and like that little living mad White Boys listen excellent day about Gona some snakes like hold on, buddy, it's not it's not a normal city. Ship. What the Phoenix and you'll just changed the snakes and
like that. Come on, funny, I saw rad coons right right now, coons get I'm not going to say that because there might be some type of law. Now, I don't think about no raccoons. I want to be honest. I got a friend named raccoon. No one cares about him. So we're gonna hunting raccoons, Holy ship. No, no, that's where I live now. You don't eat raccoons though, right, No, no, no, motherfucker's at the rattle snaks. I eat it the raccoons. No, no, no,
no raccoons, okay, two different coats. Okay, where I live now, there's raccoons and DIDs now living in Phoenix, the Carolinas or somewhere. Okay, they're all living in Phoenix. Stopians, rattle snakes East the raccoons. No, it's no, it's no rash bad. I'm sorry. Are we gonna get the motherfucker's okay? Moving them on? We flop floating around? Another thing that that
that that that was interesting. I think one day I was in the w hotel and Max b walks in and you walk in Frenchman trying to walk in and I forget the name of this point star kicked. I wouldn't deploy a name off. I don't remember her name is. But they came down. This is a long time ago. Obviously. It was a lot of poinn stars that Max B and at the Long State mine because they've seen this porn star Tip Roxley Stad crazy for Roxy so himnful
and I hadn't here. I am like, I'm I'm like when I jerk go up, I just regular jerky, like you know what I'm saying that you need the internet and got it like they knew my name all that, so I like what, I don't need the end. You got a great imagination, amund gotta picture you got it. So but they were so into that, So I say, let's just let's subscribe Max Be. For people who never met Max B. Subscribe Max B if you can't, I motherfucker, that's my little bro man. I love him, manum now
Max Man. She's like he he put the whole prestorring, yes, pre storing, okay, and you got something to do with this pre starker, I believe, So I got something to do with everything, right, you actually a matter of fact, just to go back after the black ball Okay, you know, the nigga's first thing is to fun with me, right with you made trunk? I was in Queens, yes, and I am, but I boom uh all right. It was two thousand and six seven. And by the way, I
don't think he was black balled. I'm gonna be honest. I don't know. It wasn't it was. It was not my phone calls coming through, okay, through my management. So I had to get out there on my own and find my own way, okay, and it worked out pretty spectacular, thank you, right, not two dours of six, well seven,
and just as New York, we're getting Clawbert. Now, I love all music, you know, if you see my catalog, I'll work with Yeah, I ain gonna say everybody, but just the night's over here, buging how much animated artists? You what I'm saying. So, but you meet back to thand and six. Right now, we're getting closer, Like I'm sure about New York, like God and the hes just trying to hate these songs. We're bringing New York back. Oh my god, everybody doing the and all that. Just then,
no niggers in the city's saying. You know what I'm saying that I signed in the crib, right, and this is gonna suck you up a little bit. I'm in the crib like, yo, man, I kind of make something that's on meat. Okay, I'm not an artist, but I just I know what I need and I pulled the piano and I'm like, fuck it, we're smoking side that I sent it to you. Then I send it the styles and y'all put verses on it and we shot it and it started bringing the city back because we
had the weed from New York that was clicking. It was from New York, New York, New York side with diesel everywhere, right, gangster and fun song at the same time, and then it was dead. And then you brought me for the song and you put it off reality. It's okay, it's probably me what I'm saying, wrought me for You're right, and that was me put me bay. That was crazy like that at each other to be before something. Listen.
I'm like, he's like, yo, know, I got this verse um that you that you did, so I'm trying to clear it and I'm like, your maphis mad high and they're like how I never did a verse for Mathis so I'm not putting together as Greece who gave it to him? So then they finally play it for me, I'm like, Yo, maphis an ill, how did you get that? Got it? And he turned out of this Greece. Let's get back to your story, you know what I'm saying. So let's go hold on because I want to get
this sour for a separate part. But I wanted to get like when you first I knew that Max b was like because he was a different type of artist, Like I think you were saying that's why you were saying New York was getting crised. Yeah, you know what I'm saying. See, the thing was, it was right off the the the Burg game. I was about to ask you for the game, right and Max brother my nigga, Mike Murder shout to Mike Murder. You know what I'm saying.
He was like, Chris, get this nigger. You know what I'm saying to him to leave burgag say no he was. They had the frictional. Yeah, I don't know what the fun was. That's why you see that come up video. I'm like, what you think about it and I don't think nothing about it. That's they shipped, and they know they ship. You know what I'm saying. Boom, So they say, you ain't not gonna get me. The ain't a little nigger,
you know what I'm saying. So at the same time, Max Brother was like, get the snicker man, Get the snigger man. They're gonna kill a snigger man. They I'm telling you, get this nigger because it was the music in the street streets, you know what I'm saying. So it's like, all right, cool, and then you know, I'm like, yeah, bring He's like, no, Greece, get him please, oh, bring him up. So he came up boom and was like yo, man where we didn't even get getting you know, just
like dog, but in a different way. Another ray animated artists, you know what I'm saying. And then um he started going I'm like, damn, this nigga is different, you know what I'm saying. So we started, you know, shouting young little young lowers. The U was doing a lot of beats, a lot of beats, and they saw it coming up to you want to tell me that you want to go to come to me like this? This is different. You know what I'm saying, like, oh, this is this
is groovy. You know what I'm saying that. I'm like, Okay, well I'm coming to dude. Let me turn the temple up. Dude in that Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. And then we just started doing it from there, and then we just saw the grooving and and then that's when French came on. French came with the Cocaine City DVDs. He French was young French. First come up DVD was Dorkey Diamonds. When you said earlier, I mainly through the French Montana. I was out of live Dorky Diamonds. That was DVD Dorgy Diamonds.
And I believe I got the other guy named, but it was cocaine. What Cocaine Cocaine City was was French Montenda DVD. And and he was still he was coming out of beings when the Coke Boy drew pop right there, Bank Bank. You know what I'm saying, he was coming out of being young French. Okay, when I was just ratting names like French Montana now you know, saying, so boom him and Max Star doing the tape and we did the Colke Wave tape or three of Us and Ship with the DVD. You know what the v game
So Boom did that Ship. That's just a pu you know what I'm saying. A matter of fact, even winded a little bit after the Solar Dasy. You got the baby grind situation. Then I got the baby grind situation. I did Google music, so when I was doing Google Music, I was still on that beginning Claubert. I just got to do something, So I made the whole mix sape just hard me wrapping on everything and songs for I'm like, I don't care nigs like me or not that I
had Max come through one song Connecticut cutsh Connecticut. Yeah, that's just said Boom Blue, and he was like, yo, I hear what you're doing. We didn't talk about nothing, but he felt the vibe was like I'm Achilles Niggers. I'm not the artist, but I'm still with Akillings because I know the wave limps. You know what I'm saying. It's like Greece, I got it, let me do it. I'm like, go ahead. And then that's why I did
the mix, said boom Is at one point five. It's just said Pune after that, then we did Coke Wave. So did you ever get like any slack from like the dip set side, because you know you're being hall and related him. I'm pretty sure, Okay, I'm pretty sure somebody certain way that's what it is. Who well, hey, whatever, you know what I'm saying. Nobody never said nothing to me, all right, right, okay, So now let's move on to French for a second. We're seeing French announcing projects where
Harry Fraud. Yes, we see it, and we know it's nothing. But does that feel weird? Do you see you're seeing that sometimes? Um, not quite frenchman worker Harry Fraud. Actually I was working for it too. Actually I wrapped to a couple of Spece sues um a while ago. Funny servant Harry for it too. Let's get to it, pretty, Let's get to it and into that's what we're here for, all right. I think it might be a mad I
don't care, my boy dre right. I think, yeah, purchased some of have you fraud equipment back then, Yeah, purchased or perks have even purchased what I'm saying. And so at the same time, I think, um, happy Frauda, probably because some of a lot of producers double beats up. That's one thing to give the same year. It's one thing I never dine in my whole twenties something damn the thirty career. I never gave an artist to artists same people would be the pro and doing that though,
I mean, besides obviously getting paid twice being greedy. But if one person takes off of the record legitimately, then the other one is canceled out and somebody owe some money and somebody got some hard feelings, which I'm getting to the hard feelings right. So I think the bro Dre came in, um took hold equip right, not London Dre right, London Dre Okay cool. I can't even want to say that part. Okay cool, but you know that's what it is. Came you know, and took all the ship.
So I have you called me up? I was like, yo, man, good give dud damn like man, because I'm a producer, producer and trip from you know what I've been doing. So I'm like Dre, I call it drading. Negotiate with Dre. That's my good guy too. I'm like, Drey, get it guys stuff increase this nigger you get the accident, I'm like, have you give them six extra beats? Make it work? All right, I'm gonna work with dre Bo boom. You want to get this equipment back. I had to come
to negotiate. God makes noise with Christ. So you know, it's stories and pre stories with a lot of things. But even going back to the virginal French working solely but happy for aud on his hip hoppy type ship. You know what I'm saying now, it's not nothing okay cool because it's just like that. So I'm proud of everybody. Is it a level up? Sometimes like I would still always have SEVENI four million soulton counting because he's like,
you know that. You know what happens is when we when we uh we do this, I tweet, I tweet out, r so, I tweet out. I say, yo, we got grease on. I'll say we got suth to such on. One of the main things is that's saying does grease feel away? Like it seems like once French bleue like he didn't come back have that wave no more together like you him And this is from the people. You know what I got this. This is with drink champions for so I got out. It's about the people being quietly.
That was they see it, you know, That's what I'm saying. That was the most asked question was what does he feel away about French working with Harry Fordon and as like, does he feel away that when French went to a certain level that seemed like y'all stopped working together. Um Na, man, now all or some ship? Yeah, it could be some
fun life involved, but you know what I'm saying. But to me where I'm at in time, actually I needed to take some cool breaks off I had, like especially with Dog and all that I had like a fucking consecutive years of mashing all his beers of French out there. That's for him, you know what I'm saying. I had to take a break off, Like I said, I'll smoke or drinking more, different things and ship, kids has grown and different things. Just really, uh, take time for me,
you know I'm saying. Different ship beside. Yeah, running this fucking race for so many fucking years and ship, you know what I'm saying. So I don't feel no way. Actually I took time off to get a lot of spiritual healing and get very closer to my family. And Dad's sitting still. Did you said, no, Dad's sitting still still? Yeah, Dad is home. I'm not outside. I'm home, you know something like I've been outside bumping to you that is that I come my uncle house in the Bronx nor like,
how does looping back? Going back backwards now on some Harlem ship. Did you have any interactions with big El? Yeah? And what give us something else? Though? Man, big El, that's my guy, guy guy, you gotta understand um going no way back. My crew and I being sure from the corn. We had a big gas battle saying that Paul cam blood shot everybody mace. Wow, we cut him and I'll beat niggas some black I was big staying me no, my Nika pelleah and I'll be niggas a
black He was on they were children a card. Yeah, but we just was on some black hoodie guns and bracklets. You know what I'm saying. But m L was the first person our Age range to get signed, so we signed Sony. He was with d I T. C. He was with Columbia. Yeah, that was you know what I'm saying. Well, no is this only Columbia has always been on the SNY. It wasn't. I don't think Columbia ever stood on his own. I don't know. I think so No, I think it's
always been on the SNY. Bro whatever he was okay, So I was like the first person out of all of us to yeah, you know, I'm pretty sure. Kim and Mace was like, oh, ship, that's right there. He was like, oh, that's right there. You know what I'm saying. You know, far as the young generation, ham Teddy Roley grew up from the block where I grew up back raw base was on the projects and your projects to
make thinks. Kumo d was I'm Hunt nine Hunt twenty nine Street did he had a little glasses always always superstars Yeah, and then all the DJs Bruce CB what I'm saying. So it was always a lot of ship going on in the hood, but different levels and generations. Niggas wrapping, rapping, rapping, spin L was the first one. L got signed and we knew it was close and just like theoretically my studio I was on twenty ninth Street right before L got killed. He would come to
my studio all the time. I kept it in the hood as long as I could. I had to get funk out of there, you know what I'm saying. But L would come to the studio and this is after he had the singles with everything out. He was doing a party from Oh and he was just like Yo, creething oft the b C D And he was just going down the second floor and just right right right. And even when he got um, we gotta killed his
his uh flyers from the club sending the studio. You got the bag with the whole thick of flyers and ship what I'm saying. So it was like fuck, you know what I'm saying. But L is the legend of our age range, especially your hall. He was, you know, and it seemed like he was about to get I mean he was supposed to get sign the rocket Feller around your time, right, yeah, and it would have been crazy. Jay was sounding like up a little bit too, he said, he was sounding like the girl A lot of people
sounded like big. Yeah. He was coming like with original style becomes some original style, was like, that's the new wave. Ye yeah, I mean, yeah, we're gonna do quick time with Slim. Usually this time we take shots. But you're not taking shots. So we're just we're just we'll just we'll just no no, no weak shot. We'll just we'll just ride with it that one of your homies want to step in for you? On your homies, wanna stepping
in for you? Do you want to stepping No? No, no, no, no no, you gotta take You gotta take the whole game, the whole game. You got your own ship, Like, all right, come on, I like you got your own ship, Tracy, you help the bole. You're gonna take the shot. You gotta bring your own patrol, bring up with yeah. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah yeah, we got we got on my shot glass. I'm so shoot my water. Yeah, this this is kind
of easy, man, it's my step. I'll talk about this. Yeah, because did him Okay, yeah, some of these are good. Some of these are good. Hi. You ready? You only take the shot if he says neither or if he says both. If he doesn't say neither both, you know, but it's it's it's prayer question, all right. So this one, I know, I kind of know he's gonna go. Um, it's quick to have a slide uh nahs or jay, I'm fucking technical man, J what aspect No, it's just
any aspect one, whatever it is. Don't don't be toothings. Don't worry about it if you want to. It's hard because I didn't take a shot there. It's okay, both of them. It's two lates. I was, I would say, J on the oporneal and doing different things. But quietly, no, it's got a lot of different right both to me, sir, I'm saying it sounds like both to me. That's been just a right cool All right, now this one, I pretty much know where're gonna go with this one. DMX
with Tupac. I love Tupac. Okay, but you're going with X. Gotta keep you roll roll some of these I'm ill give. Just pass me back to product the thing, dump it out because I'm still trying to promote. Yeah, yeah, get back the case. Yeah there you go. Hey, you want
this one too? You get him everything? Yeah? Yeah, I like I wrote about Molly's yea throwing back old okay, all right, Sunny catch it, okay, I didn't know what you got with this, come on, okay, all right, Ace hood or currency comes okay, that's you got a lot of drinks and currency spy, virginal godless original style that does virginal groove. There, that's what I funk with Derek currency figure all right, nineties or two thousand of hip hop? Rusk said to two thousand's two thousands? Oh ship, I
am alright cool. Damnever considered two thousands or was nineties? That one? That's true because it bleeds. It bleeds what I'm saying like Semon could like it could be radio podcasts were in the future now okay, uh better up podcast. That's cool looking at it, still the same semi song. Okay, I know Scarface or ice Cube, he gonna take a shot. I gotta go with Uncle Face. Okay, Okay, I love God Uncle Facing al Right, this one he's definitely gonna
take a shot to. He should almost Biggie or Big Gul. Damn, that's a shot. See see that's the ship that sucks me up. It sounds like a shot. Just gotta pick both because yeah, I'm gonna say both. Yeah, because the one thing, like you know what I'm saying, course, l bro, you know what I'm saying. But that's the legacy. But I just be a little with big. It just was the one thing that. I wish I was a little
older we were doing it. I would have had them do more songs, just more, just keep going, all right. But at the same time, the amount of songs is a legacy, right, Okay, DJ Mogs or Alchemists m hmm, name from the same did lineage? Did Monks produce um at Cypress Hill? No? The single which one time for some action? I know that's Redman hook. But now you're talking about if I could just kill a man, Yeah, I got it. Damn Alchemists fire too. I gotta go
with Moms. Yeah, because because because you know what I'm saying, I can just kill him. That's part of the influence. What's got part of us here? You know what I'm saying? So all right? Yeah, not taking when alcoms dope? No analog? Did you? Oh? I don't know. Go both. I'm gonna go both because somebody both. We got a drink were all the way? Yeah? Are you going right there? Here? You're driving? Right? Okay? All right? What was that? I was ana long digital? I agree with that. Um I
learned the Seeker from Dr Dre and The Lord in Digital. Okay, but hold on, we gotta got MP three NPC two thousand or the SP twelve hundred. What about the three thousand? That's not dead brother ship. I didn't want to put that one, and I'm going have to say specause I don't like to some thousand at all. Okay to digit reason times f L studio reason our f L studio. What's that reason? It's record, that's all right? The ship that okay, major or indie m that's kind of both. Sorry, yeah,
just go ahead. Don't go to the tequila. Come on, yeah, yeah, you're good, right there, you're good. That's a that we all have that. Okay, the rules n how many halfway through? I think we halfway through? Okay, pro tools or logic pro tools okay, yeah, because I um I use ableton ableton That just sounds like some witch scientists like he definitely made glasses like you. He looked like you, so able tonight, So you're going pro tools protels okay to me,
people who wear glasses smarter. I'm just saying, just want to throw that out. Yeah l A or Miami l A because I do movies, okay, in video games, Okay, I know I love Miami. I love y'all. Please don't Joe, you can make more money we got okay, or Mace. That's just was on the text with Mace earlier. That's the pros both. It's not me, brother, it's the way the game got expect. Okay, Tracy is right there. You know everybody, Okay, all right, we're gonna waiting to finish.
It's part of the game. He had more questions. No, no, no, no, it's all here. No banks on the mess. I'm not even in sports, but I'm not gonna do both. Alright, I don't do my Grandpap's and uncle's. We're from the Bronx, so that he die hard. Okay, correct, same, Okay, Papa, Daddy or Dre. That's gonna be tough. Dre is most of my influence and Puff is my first Chet sounds like both, damn Tracy both and I work with both
of them personally. You know what I'm saying, Oh, this is fire because you don't know by the way, Yeah, uh, we'll wait. Okay, Swiss, Swiss or Timberland. You're going after this. Swiss is extended family. But I gotta go with Timberland. Okay, sure, you're okay, I'm going Timberland. Okay, come on, m Luck the way he said that, Come on, Marb deeper outcast. I don't know where you're going with this one. That's kind of fucking crazy because they're like two of them
are at the young boy. Yeah, look outside. You gotta go both. You know what you want. Just don't don't go with the mom. I'm going with them, all right. This is one. I know, Rose is one of my favorite records all the time. But you know that man or Jada Kiss. Yeah, I'm gonna both New York. You gotta understand. I got multiple songs with anybody, and I got a song with Meth and coming. It's only three left, It's only three left, Only three shots. Letter. This is up in the air. This is up in the air.
This one. I'm pretty sure he's good. Three three more shots. You're gonna even Foxy Brown. I gotta go with Eve, Okay. You know I work with even when she was even destruction. I worked even she was even destruction as well. After that, I went to Philly to do it too. I'm with the l a Um common Ground, Coolgi wrap A Big Daddy Came, I love Came, but I'm about to go to Cool. You wrap on the Gangster Ship and I got a COUCHI rap single coming up, So you're gonna
Cuchi rap. I love Kano, but I'm gonna cut rap Gangster French Montana or a SAP Rocky French. I didn't really hear too many of a SAP records that Rocky record. I know, No, I didn't real it. Right now, let's get a negat some that's enough his record. Shout out to shout out to a sapping for because I cleared the Pups record. I cleared the Pups record for them. Okay, Ship, you gotta go back to what you said about dre
about teaching you the analog, did you Okay? So with the analog, when I will work with Yah, you know what I'm saying that. But when I work with Drake beause I work with a thousand times one was even destruction before she was out of the East. Um another artist, Amy Tavern Brazilian singing artists, but m we would track the drums analog. All drums stay analog and all that sounds digital. So we used two inch and pro tools. The reels are the drums and then everything else is digital.
For the warmth especially come out to three thousand and ship. That's why I picked the two thousand too crispy, That's why I went with hunted and we got were kind of described it for people who don't understand what the hell we're talking. Actually, people don't know. No, no, no, the real the real ship, you know, that's the drums on the reel and everything else would be digitally recorded. It's like holding a little person. So the first I don't know, but okay, that's a little crazy. The two
inch real I'm talking about yo, listens. Sorry to sound like the old hen and the Landies used to have a two inch real and you literally could not send a verse like Buster RBS do a verse. Nobs is doing the first for you have to come to your studio because in order not on even that, in order to punch in that they would they would literally have to put tape on the actual ship, like you have to cut tape. Yeah, cut the tape that sorry. Look at these guys, these guys like this, they make a
record in two minutes. Hey, I'm looking like fun. Took us hours like just to just to track the beat. Remember, they had to track out the soul. Sorry, but the sounds like what you're saying that warms. You can't get it, especially for the drums. You know what I'm saying. He used to we call the drums an analog and everything else did here. And when I record or make beats for aftermfractive things, I would record my drums too much
reels analog and all it sounds keep makingthing. Wow, that's crazy. Goddamn, that's crazy. At one point you started to become a part of your project. He was laying versus you. I think people had a singing album or something and you were singing, awesome ship. It was Blanket Jackson. That okay, okay, And so you know, you go back to the incredible name. You go back to the Michael Jackson song when it was like the kid ain't mine. That was me. Okay,
you're the kid. Yeah, that was you know what I'm saying, checking the mail Michael Jackson. So you know that's Blakey Jackson is Oh, I get it, Jackson even get the Jackson just speaking all of us. Name is Jackson somewhere, you know what, Let's find out he really is the kid. That's hilarious. When it came actually came on the mix, sape. I think when the goomi at one point five, I
just did a fucking uh uh skit. I'm like with the auto tune, fucking around like Blake could he used to being honey out and blue and red star, blue red Staux. Know what blue red Staux? The pills? Yeah, oh yeah, I know some of the drink blue red stalls. Like where was I for that one? Okay? I was here for the pills. Still over the pills. I speak up front with our fans over right, It's okay, he pills. Here's something the pills. So this guy all right, so
me Max Frend's reasonly fucked up. So that's how you made music with a pill? Put the guyline on it only want to get to the point already. I can tell you I did the skit. You know what I'm saying. And that's like to turn the tune on. Fuck it, Blanket Blanket Jackson of all those Michael Michael Jackson hit right now, like yo, that's dope. The skits aw going crazy. I'm like, word, put a beat on, did that on the beat, put another one on. She just saw the
catching and saw the catching. That did the mixtape Ship Club Music, which is all blanket featuring increase featuring yourself. Well not really. Yeah, there's a couple of over there. Sorry to be bouncing around, but listen, right when we interview people, we want to listen to their catalog or the ship. So we come here earlier. I can't here way too early today. I don't know why I was here before. Everybody like there wasn't even a thing right here,
Like he was just here, the lady said. The lady looked at me and said, norm me, like you never hear at this time anyway. So that was a great thing because I could go through your catalog. But pause, you really have how many songs to have to record? Like you really, Paul, I don't want to say that you have a long ass catalog like like you know, pauls like that's like you said, three thousand songs made a pride over gaggerated or probably around there. You just
try to get nine the County Ship. You know what I'm saying that it's like the school of Tupacat. Yeah, that's what you're saying. You wish Big would have cranked out more records, because you're telling from me, Big had one beat of mind. He was writing to one beat and Puff now Puff wild into action. I mean, you know Puff Puff is super regular in the studio, boxing
basketball shorts or whatever. He's a hut Okay, I don't know that puff though, all right, I'm just you know, yeah, yeah, but he was like, your big right to this joint, crease, let me take your the room. And that's the only one time I met Bigger Stark here at the La Moon. He's like, yo, you made this, like yeah, killless dope and this is this is very to die big or this is life after that band, that double album Big, Okay, that's after death. You know. I had to maintain my excitement.
I'm like, okay, dope in my head, like, oh I'm about to get a big record. It was the beat was crazy. I don't even got any more. Who was somebody? You did? You did you would like to work with? I just broke with Snoop. I always like Snoop, never work with Snoop. I never walk Stoop because I like I like, I like artists with their own character personality. How about Buster? How about from Wow? No, I never work with Bust. That's what you know what I'm saying,
It's just you know what I'm saying. I don't like to work with artists sounds like other people. I can't do that. Oh yeah, you can't work with nobody new right now? That for the Meals is the folks you're working with the Meals recently? No, no, I will Okay, they're original to me, like the New Ways, Yeah to me. To me, there the original of that style. Now there's a lot of people who silite the Megals, but to be hands down the Megs, and you know, I like that.
I like their tightness, like you know, like the fact that the Locks because you know all these years and her styles p this Jada. I've never heard Jada this year. And I've never heard Offset just take off and take off this on Crabo. I've never heard that. And they actually seemed tighter now that they had like a discrepancy with their label like I think they had they they had. They're going through their bad way. Yeah, that bad way moment where how the Locks went through their moment with
bad Boy, and I think they're going through that. Hope hopefully all that works out, but um, it actually makes me say, damn, I fount with him even more, Like you know what I'm saying, I seem to be the Nickelodeon Awards, which is right, you're walking through the melet's walk through it. Um, what's CARDI b Manum? It was something I was like, oh Ship, I even know what
you think? You know me, I'm like, oh Ship, But yeah, I think they're cool and I think, um their music and I think they still the text of time and I actually think they legends. Man, so you know what I mean? Step so um boom doing all this? Um, I want to get back to the Way for a minute. It's the way even something that Max be created. And there's something that Max we created. Okay, yes, but I just came on and made it more. Yeah, okay, you know more. What do you think when you hear people
use the way? There's a lot of people, know, it's a lot you know what I'm saying. Um, it's just unfortunately that he got locked up. You know what I'm saying. Did he patting the word? Not quite, not that I know of. I don't don't quote me like you know what I'm saying, but not that I know of. You know what I'm saying that I would have patting the worst slie. Come on, he would have pat. I was the first one to say slie and it's not and it's not guy. Yeah, it wasn't no gang ship and
that it was a simple. My friend went to the store asked me, I want a piece of his sanwards. I said no. When he came back with sandwich, was like, yo, man, let's look good because he said it's pepper so I thought it was pepper, pepperoni. Pepper and pepperoni sounds like same to me too much. I thought it was pork. When I came back and it wasn't pork, I said, oh, should give me a piece and it was like that. He said slime. It's no, no, no crazy ship to it. We put it on records. He put it on and um.
I actually spoke to uh Young Doug the other day. I was actually after we finished Belly interview, I was with Cash Belly's manager and he faced time Young Thug and we talked about the Slime situation. I was gonna come on the show. He's like, I gotten, and I like, you know, I like I like the coach side of the new generation. Some of them don't don't know the school.
You can't be bad at somebody for not knowing. But but I'm telling you there's people out there that have like wave cemeteries and wave uh the wave the farm and the wave crew like like like not the way the wave the wave every implement of now right from even that's it's wavy like down with that a little too little baby actually saying wave. So um, Drake Travis Scott, you know what I'm saying. I think Drake, shout it out,
Quabo the wave everything the culture at the point. Yeah, it's what it is, you know, like max Is is a real part of right now culture. You got to think about it, like, um, two thousand and seven, he got locked in two thousand nine. How long he's been in jail right now? Two thousand nine? Twelve? Yeah, I can't count the right twelve, you know what I'm saying. Let me shout at the max. So the sunny Fire
years got chopped down fifteen. He's been in there twelve, So that means three years from now he should be all right and he might get a couple years back, you know what I'm saying. Okay, now, let's be honest. I want to need the honesty, grease, that's all I am, Leo. I need the honesty. Can't he really survive because listen, let's just be clear, and I want to say this will all due respect. Yes, I want to say this to all do is Shine was the most anticipated New
York coming back home. He it was like he lost the step. But he must have knew he was going to be a political person. Now he in believes being the president of some ship. Max, I don't see him being the president of nothing. And he come home and be the way because part of why Max is the wave was he was a step above on fashion. He was a step above on all that. Jail naturally puts a step put you in a step behind. That's why
I brung up Side. Yeah, I brung up Shine. I'm bring up certain people who did certain amount of time like jail puts a little rust on you. But it's too much of like like what happened Shot, It was too much of the public eye for his first bars is not to be looked at. I think it was College. I think was DJ College who actually got the first show in verse, and I believe he rushed it and it just took all the the what a better word, the wave away from Shot. It's all the way because
everyone's like, man, maybe he lost it. Maybe because that's really what what's gonna happen with Max? Max? That first record that he get on, he gonna have the flaming. Is that something that you think that he does. He need that time to get that rust off. No, that definitely gotta happen. You got Yeah, that's what coach, thin didn't come out. You gotta come in and you gotta do your push ups. You gotta you might want to
do it. We gotta do deep research and homework like come come on chance and I'm saying, you gotta do the right And now that that first record that you recalled drops, No, the only gotta we gotta you guys to get in and go in and got to know, gotta know. And just like it said, the competition on the talgets okay, we got the talkets lined up. He's definitely no, no, no, no. At this point, he's definitely the O g right. Like he went from being a little man that was destructed or looked at like he
was like he's now coming home. There's gonna be like I could see there, people are gonna be bowing to him. I see these this new degeneration but if he come home and one wrong move, yeah, because that they love to tell you that it's gonna they pick you up. And he comes home and he made one more more move. I think that's what this music industry is about. So what was you saying? I'm sorry, I feel like a na I said, we got um. Yeah, I gotta go in and do the training is retraining now? Max always
got some ship ship ship, but it's beat selection. Is these beats and to changeable in compatible with these beats now? Or we're just gonna say fun everything, go on your own wave. Yeah, that's that's my next question saying or different things. See that's what I do. That's actually a line up? Was my next question? Your friend, what do you mean? What do you do you try to admit into today's music? Did you try to do your own? Like it's very hard. Ship You can do a little
bit of both. You create your own, but then you start featuring on others to kind of like show that you can. All that ship gotta be fired, all of it, got it. That's my job as producer. It's a looking to all the dimensions and set up and have all the dimensions ready. So other producers to hit you and say, yo, this is for Max. You could be able to differentiate your this beat is not for you. This beat for you. You can do know. It would be like, all right, this is for two two Max, or this is for
this Max up. We don't even know yet two thousand and twenty, what is it? No? No, you come over three years so five, but we want the advanced version of that. You want to right, I should see I am so. But for the most part, you think he could come and you think it got it got to be, well, well round it training, you know what I'm saying, The different things, and it's just something retraining um because he
always got some ship. He always gotta slick as bar and different things and waits to say it, you know what I'm saying. But as far as like you know, just watching the whole battlefield, you know what I'm saying, the different things, because it probably was a couple of songs that probably came out and came through and I was like, who did that? Who allowed you? You know what I'm saying, The different things, like, okay, who allowed that? You can't put anything out the same way you feel.
I was like, you can't put anything out. There's a lot of ship going on right now. You know what I'm saying, it's a lot of repeating ship. It's a lot of you know, you know, disrespect to music today because I like a lot of it. But if remind me of a break a, it's the rhythm. Oh, everything is the same rhythm, the rhythm. You know what I'm saying. What you got the rhythm. But that's what made those artists so dope and regga is that gets the same near them, but they made a whole So it's like
it's a little like that. Now, that's what it is. Now, you're right, Yeah, you know you catch the rhythm. Yeah, I ain't gonna lie, I'll be I'll be listening to I don't know who who who? Who? Ain't? I just I like the rhythm. Now that's my daughter. Who's this? I like because that like forty two dog my nephew too. He'd be playing all the super gangster like little Dirt, Yeah not dirt, going supervio crazy. Now I like about
them dudes. I just gotta you know, um Dirk ship chump, he was hitting and then I guess you's just said nah, I could be a super so I'm going superstar and he went superstar. Now I felt like that Drake record was what him there and he was already becoming the superstar. But I think I think that was like the ultimate push that made him let me, let me bounce around. You know, you was around where a friends they beating with dip set, they beef in and now French and
and and Jimmy squashed the beef. How did you feel about that? That's different? Okay, you know what I'm saying, that's um like I said, and even with Max and Jim, like I wouldn't say, I'm not gonna say, Jim Joan, I'm not doing that ship. You know what I'm saying. Max, you know, And even that's what I always say to come up DVD because you know, as journalist, Doky Diamonds like, yeah, Nigel, you know Max here, I'm just when the dogs like,
so Greese, what's you think? Okay, Max Crease, don't think nothing. He got nothing to do with this. This is me so because you're not pulling me into all that political ship because I mean, technically I know Jim first, you know, and it's Cam. You know, we all came out Mason Cameron. You know what I'm saying, was going and Jim was holding Cam down. Jim would get jumped by twenty motherfucker's the holders man down, you know what I'm saying. So you know he was holding this man down. So we
knew Jim as holding his man down. You know what I'm saying, different ship. So, um, when it comes to the maxif front, the maximum Jim Jones ship, you know what I'm saying, it definitely wasn't for me to jump in a cause i'mone for the protection around Max. Make sure he's straighten. Ain't nobody, ain't no where. Phone calls like they used to come through through the hotline, Yo, twenties came through the seat. Twenties came through and yet turn the cameral I saw you got god this ship.
But you know, just certain different things. And and then um see French is after we got off the mix tape wave and different things. French came entirely politally clear, correct, because I mean he knew on the gang banging side he wasn't gonna be the French that he is now. Almost pops off French, so he know that he had to clean up a few ships and not funk with too many of the goon's to get to where he
needed to be. Right, So you know, boom for Max and us working together to Waka Flocker and Guci Man. But we all heard the Gucci Man story. But Waker then, um the Rick Rossa Piti Puff Daddy sonomy too. You know where you got to go to Drake different things. You know what I'm saying that just you know, position himself, French and small MOUs, you know, position himself and to get to where he needed to be at now you
know what I'm saying. Internationally, French, Montin and Danny put out that fucking unforgettable wind right, But what did you feel when um they said that they squashed the beat? Because I didn't. I didn't. I didn't feeling anything. I didn't fit anything. Like you know what I'm saying. I know what French is doing. You know what I'm saying, they'd be different and different ships. You know what I'm saying, Like, Um,
I'm pretty sure we've we've been out there. We know what it's really out there, we know what the codes are, we know what it is. But nowadays, because it's the only thing is out there, like that everybody else is on some whole other shops like, you know what, let's go home. I'm going home. I thought it was still because there's one thing for them to squash it, but there's another thing for them to get in each other's records,
film videos together. I think one of them they was in l A. The next one they were in New York and I think they shut down the highway. I thought that was dope because if people put energy into beating, you should put energy and like squashing and moving on, like you know what I'm saying. So you we thought Max and Jim was gonna be squash, but Jim ain't. He ain't so even with the even women. I think French he said something I think on Angie he's trying to, Okay,
do what he's trying to do. But like after the French and Gym ship a right, Jim cool, French cool. And let me just say I saw some of that Angie Martinez interview with French want talent. You know she's still is a goat, yo know, she is still as yo bro. She hasn't lost a step at all. And hey, I'm going into watching it like you know, being a little cocky like, you know, let me see what she could do, and I'm like, yo, she's still like the goal.
So Angie, just in case you know, I bowed down just watching a little piec Still, Angie, I ain't ain't getting to finish watching the whole interview. So um, so, what's your favorite part of the game. Is it making the record or performing the record? I'm reducing I'm nothing being performed though, Bingo, Okay, that's your favorite. Dog. I didn't go on the first tours. I mean I was in the city with you. Okay, what I'm saying hard knock life, the hard knock, but the survival, the Elston
cash money to all that. I didn't go. I didn't go on the tours, so you didn't see how your records was reacted in stadiums. Not the dog had the world tour. Causso signed me dog, signed me up the world. You got to go back to it. Becuzzo signed me up, Dog, sign me up. I'm a innomate to your niggas once again, be Cauz signed me up. Don't you gotta Tonics? Five times? So they are like, did you put on the alright? Cool, I'm on the now overseas different speaking everywhere. Man. We
did about five shows in Germany. Pezzle, I don't know. Sorry, No, he's the ambassador. I love I love door, but I want to see if my own hood Shepherd's Bush in London? What? Okay? Where else? Germany? Else where? H everywhere Belgium, Germany and Insterdam, Switzerland. Um, now I ain't gonna get to the last show. For the last show, all these faces went crazy. I keep forgetting that y'all call him because it always I'm always two steps behind y'all. That's for Kiyo. That's what I know.
That's a show almost chopped all the up now it was after him. He was a negotiation person. Negotiation so era like beating Persian. Yeah, you know the crazy ship when I saw a dog on it. Then he said the story it's the same as I can show. I'm like, yep, yeah exactly. We had to call embassy, get down, then jump on the trucks, sip out. They came. They speak Portuguese, they were and he say NonStop cock. He can't speaks
he speaks Spanish right, but kept some words. You know what that's that's It's like, it's like, um, that's what brazilla. That's yeah, okay and yeah yeah, but he no stopped heard the keyword. See, I'll let you know. He's doing the role man. Everything is straight, everything's fine, and Non saw him like, no, it's not. He said, y'all got a problem if y'all try to leave. No, I stopped heard that. Whatever fucking language was, you know, it was
comes of job. Everything it's gonna be cool, everything's good, everything's straight. The words gonna very optimistic. Never I learned the artist. The artists think everything that. Yeah, so you know we're like, oh, ship all right, and now I ain't got I got a good mcgavaman. It just won't kicking. I'm like, okay, I take the button knife poked him one soldier in the hallway, but get out the country then not the way he just said soldier. So you're
fighting against them. Don't even like police. The police know what I'm saying, like, like, you know, get to boom one, grab the joint. You know, got a little trick, put the finger behind the trigger, so I'm gonna go back boom and poked them up and you know it's like yeah, it's moved the cornback. But then boom, take that, get in the car, drive and then the thort process stopped. There is we going yea Africa? Yeah, we we're gonna drive to the jungle next. What we had to call
the police? The U s SIMPAC. Don't say the police. That's what everybody is happy to be from the unit. I never like got from Hollm. You're Americans. Yeah, yeah, it means you used to go places like Brooklyns, like world up. You can't do that in Africa. I think even those dudes in the assassinated the president got pulled out by the U s MBAs. The Dosian Americans that were part of that creaty, they got pulled out by the being pulled out. They were part of that Colombian
hit squad and what they was locked up. Yeah, imagine they killed the president. Everybody said that the U SMBC pulled the two Haitian because they're Americans. They pulled them out, pulled them out, while the Colombians are getting tortured for information. So what they allegedly to obey time. It's Haiti bro, it's not Cuba do I'm talking about what they said the Americans, though you said they is Haitian. But they Americans.
You don't know what happened in Haiti? Yes, to kill the president, right, so do Haitian Americans went in with the Colombians, Okay, to do so? America grabbed the two. They cut the Haitians. They caught them. They're doing with them. No, I don't know. They just the only one baby, they know not why they're back in US. That's the US. So where they got him? Know what I'm trying to say, They I don't even know if they're in trouble like
that for killing the resident. They didn't leave them in Haiti while the other ones are in Haiti under in custody. The American with them. I don't know why would they would have left them there? Though. What I'm trying to say is ultimately, like if the U. S Embassy saved
you guys. The Colombians are getting tortured over there, allegedly and Hatie, Yeah, because they're trying to figure out who they They got military, they got really Haitian man's stopping this man stop anyway, they got pulled out, they got the US hooked them up. At least they're not getting torture. They might be locked up here, but they're not tortured in Haiti right now, so that I was just playing around around kid, But what then is happening with Cuba?
What is that mean? Yeah, it's I mean, we don't know when this is going to come out, but it's the first time since the revolution that the entire island rose up against the government. So if they can. It's led by artists, by hip hop artists, by by urban street you know, you like, the artists are the ones that led the movement. Yeah, against the government, against the government.
Everybody rolls up against the government. And right now, because I'm talking to people directly on the island, they're literally going house to house pulling out people who are riding, people who are part of the their protesting, I mean writing someplaces protest like anything else. And they're pulling them out and they disappearing, not not the saying they're dying, but they're they're disappearing. Then they're putting them locking them up. Huh. A lot a lot of artists. The artists were the
first waiver. Really yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's yeah. Because my homegirl from the movie Coming Home, the Nice Water she's lived, she lives in Cuba. Right, she's the one communicating with me, one of the people. Yeah, God, bless God, bless anybody happy to be American now, kid, Yeah, it's always. It's always. Hey man, you could be a patriot and still want your country to be better. That's what That's what it's like. How better ship do you want? You want?
Horseshit bullshit? When you travel overseas as American, you realize, Okay, I want to go back home. Y different, you know what I'm saying. And that's that's the reality. And tell mcaveman didn't kick in, and that's the Mike Tysons after you got in your ship. Yeah, okay, let's look at the one of my ideas. I go, you see the movie Hangover with Mikes, Like, that's it taken off, like you're getta knockba. Have you ever seen Mike because you had it? You have you ever seen Mike said you
you had the tattoo? Ain't seen I know Mike too, Remember, okay, but what if you're seeing me but he's take that then you're just imagine like that because I'm scared of devil Mike. Right, It's just like it was pretty scary man, Like he was being nice. It's a very intimidating. What I don't know about what you have a gun on you And I'm still scared of Mike, like you people talking you up. We met a couple of times, like a shoppers whistle, like I'm at a one time on
the Swift's like Greece. You said Mike is soft and swift. You know that that It was like Mike peace gree Boom bang bang. There was a couple of years later, I'm like, michaelsoft Greece. They thinking crease know, like, oh ship, you know what I'm saying, shop you know, but you said if you missed, you know, like he was with a guy. You just I'm just saying, I'm just giving you us that, like Mike is a scary Mike man,
Mike is one of us. Yeah, beautiful warrior. Yeah what I'm saying, like like you know, we all come from. But you see what he had. Yeah, yeah, that was a different Mike right there. Yeah he was rubbing up to Mike. Mike. Yeah, he went back that ship right then. That ship, that ship was some piece of warrior Mike and Mike. Mike, because you gotta like you gotta thick
real fast. Once Mike tell you something back ship y'all in the room like this you other things you gotta get Cafoe, I don't get what do you think you're game? And was like, come on man, little straight guy gets asked that ever ever, so if you're getting asked that, you know this ain't good. Not good. I don't give any world safe with mask. When you see a man
that's in you say so you get. Your first reaction first off is to act what the fun you're talking to Mike, thinking of the fun you're talking about, homie that ain't happening. Holmies outside your homies is taking of my whole lot. I'm not running your holmies a second, your niggas. You laugh, then outside the room like I'm not sure if I'm running in Mike stars mikey, you signed a waiver to go into that room. I feel I didn't read it, but it seemed like he said,
if you get sunked up, it's on you. I'll try to want me because I was late to the interview and he's like, none, that signed, we gotta sign with us. When we're talking about that talking no, no, no, that's Mike, Mike is a different type of dude. So who who who? We asked who you would want to work with? What's your favorite artists to collaborate with? No? As I worked, as you work, Who who's your favorite that you worked with? Um?
Who's easiest to work with? Favorite or both easiest? No? No, no, okay, but no, I mean nothing was wrong. Okay, let me get on superdu But like, um no, like, I don't. I ain't gonna lie like I ain't wanna. I'm a street nigger, you know what I'm saying. So it ain't it ain't really much that's gonna like throw me. I mean I grew up with all the creepy Crawleys. I know, the creepy colies. So it's like says unique work unique,
that's good work work unique. Dirt who dirt ol dirty bastard or dirty bast Yeah okay, cool, I'd like that you call him Dirk. I love I love my guy. You know what I'm saying. Dirt work work together. Yeah, we um rush out of soundtrack. We didn't. You don't stop. You know what I'm saying. To record on that first of it was just me and dirty and said, well him rapping me during the beat and then they put the whole War and that's back then, and then um, he need Me did his last his last album, you
on it, Yeah, I am. I wanted a rail record right now when I did I'm onna do I'm on one high, don't do what? What? What? Yeah? Okay and we can do it like this okay? Hell yeah. That was after he got out jail. He was kind of probably a little more sedated, you know, saying just ship, you know, just you know that means this ship not quite the problem. You mean you mean he was like to dated like purposely. Yeah, not legally, probably his medication
from doctor. Ok. I thought he just was different periods naturally, but you mean like he was you know. Yeah. So he did his last album with Studio Upstate, and you know he was he just was blank like I known him already. Like I said, he did the Rushack Russia soundtrack back then, and it was like right before he passed away, and Ship, you know what I'm saying, he was just like cool hill, quiet dirt, like paled up. Yeah, you know, but legally medication not nothing else. I used
to talk with my mouth never moved. Did you know of my mom? I was saying something, but my mouth didn't move. It was just like probably saying that seems like when I was in jail. So my mother came to see him. Look like, that's what they put me on this I was. I was getting in trouble too much as they hit me with that. You know what I'm saying. So um so you know he was in there and ship, so he just cried Dirt was good,
You're good. You know what I'm saying. Because I would rent the front studio room out, it was only two things that I was getting his reaction. It was my man wife Sean. I'll be like, you're like, yo, what sun I said? Dirt? Yeah, I'm like dirt. He was a double backer, you know what I'm saying. It was like, all right, gem that gets to kick in like that. But you know she was a gangslation cool boom boom boom.
And then I think I was making um the move backbeat that he jumped on the remix and that ship woke them out of it, you know what I'm saying. I was in the other room, huh huh, and I just saw the door creep over real slow. You peeked in yo, gee, you worked the ship out that try yea yo, you worked that Yo, that's dope, NIGGI you want to get on it? Yeah, fifteen minutes. Brother, First he was bad, you know what I'm saying, and did um the whole I think the albums for land Speed
or something. Okay, you did it and ship? Okay? No, well grease do versus? Huh will grease do versus? I've done versus? No, you didn't do versus? What are you talking? Right? No? Two thousands bad like versus versus. Not that type of versus horses versus. No, No, we know you not that we know, but do so on that? But battle, um, what you want about it? If you if you had a choice, it came to you. The price was right, time was right, the venue. I don't know from what
I'm hearing been lately. Okay, yeah, I don't know, man, because like this this this Cameron ain't coming out for less a check. So trust man can don't move, he don't, He'll leave his driveway in the count. So um, I don't know, man. I would really say, you know what if you could just sid' doing one. Let's just say you did consider doing one. Who did you want to battle.
It's kind of bank. No, that's so bro, but it's it could be like yeah, yeah, no, no, no, no, all right, what you would want to hear that ship against yours? U p K E L. I don't dispect to come about cheese what I'm saying. But just far as the colorfulness of catalog, you know what I'm saying, it's a difference. You know, I spent my career making a colorful catalog and taking chances of risk with other people like you do hate that. Shoot, you know what
I'm saying. I'm trying to get to ten thousand, right, you know what I'm saying. So I used to hust only job I have with something crack been doing music, so not an add a gram up when it was yeah that was so. Who do you think if they came to you? Right? I don't know who would you think I'm thinking right now? Because his mainstream hits there's on the ground spectaculars. Yeah, but it's twenty it'sut is just fucking you know what I'm saying. All around hip
hop classics, I think I got a perfect one. I think ALCMS would be a good matchup. I like that. I like that, But you know I was taking the Coast to coast battle cattle Cat. He's fire, he's five. But come on, they've gotta be a wh who've done a record that you said? Damn, I wish I would have produced. They never like for producing if we're only coming out the house though now he's not coming out. Yeah, it's not even thinking now, but producer, I like, actually,
I mean it might be shocking. I like all Kelley's producer Kelly as a producer. We gotta relax what we say saying I wanted to sound kind of crazy Kelly as a producer. So you want to do you want to bat r Kelly and versus I'm not bad at all Kelly at all. He wants like all of them joints the producer Kelly. I read the credits. Yeah, so his publishing is crazy then, I mean or scoff I didn't know Scoffs was producing all the back that he was on faces in my studio playing Yeah, yeah, yeah,
he's crazy like that. He's crazy like that. Damn. Let's let's look. I would say p K two, but that's like too much. Yeah, it's it's it's family and not just you know, discredit anything, but you know, mostly PK joints is just for excellent locks. They fire one so that stick out, don't get it twisted producers. Yeah, anybody draining around, Yeah, with draining, I might need a bucket. I might need a late real quick. I'm gonna take We're gonna go. We've got bathrooms. Brother, you don't need
a block. We can take it. I don't know, man, because I'm kind of thought about I don't know, like, h get him that credit. That would be a good I think that versus would be good right there. That the whole Oh, it would be a fun one, not shame raw Lawrence would be a fun one, I know, trust me. Was only the same studio. I raped a whole lot spudget and they were sitting in piss half Niggers was like Greece dope all the knicks like what this new nigga? Now, you wasn't easy helping down with
them too. You gotta understand, Like, think about the Mark Ride Carvey remix with the locks on it. Think about you see all that bad boy that was the puff just was on the record and doing that. But there was dumb nicks like this and ship had the mixtapes on crazy blocks. That's what I'm saying, like crazy and it's a different suit, like you know what I'm saying. Like like I said, I got mainstream part of my kellogg, but most of it and a lot of it is
street in different things I don't have. I don't have uh many critical tracks like that. I got him, you know, I got him. We're gonna have to highlight that he's not drinking. But he was the first guest ever. Sad you gotta bucking around here. I'm just right here, right here. He's not drinking us. We got back from brother, we got a bathroom budget. I love me ready, but I think we haven't stopped. So how about lodge professor? What you think about that? Nice? That's a good one. Have
you ever watch persons? Yeah? Okay, alright, cool? Actually what's the last best? I can't wait for the locks? And okay, So so pulling this out after this would be out part of the week after. So who are you? Who are you? Who are you betting on? So? Man, who's your money gone? Who taking a shot? Back out? Who're taking? Because you got the technical, got the give my homes on whatever? Come on to me, like I gonna take this shot like I'm technical with it, you know what
I'm saying. Like now, Cam, he was battling rapid before any of us got on, So which is niggas in the park, So that means something. And my very first single live Alynics, Cam came through Good Morning America and he's haul embroid to the same as That's why guy got got all right, But my Platinum records and everything came from the Locks. You know what I'm saying. When I went to both both again, I went to Yonkers,
you know what I'm saying. That's why I was like, oh, because you know where you from, you a little arrogant. Ain't nobody else hot in the world? Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, And then you went to Yonkers like these nickles spent my Okay, damn, you know what I'm saying. But I can't. I mean, I'm like the she got the oh in the Locks that part of the you, Yeah, I can't.
I can't wait either. I was going to try to go actually attending the crowd, but I think we got three things to do out here that those those two days, you know, it's only one day. I think it's agus third, right, yeah, my guy trying to get we got August third. Oh that's already silk. Oh yeah, so the motherfucker shock he was. He's allowed on this holy ship speaking a lot. I know, we spoke about a little bit, y'all didn't speak about yacord.
You know, I never never wanna ended. So but I'm I'm live on this okay, because I was like the first I'm not supposed to commercial excuse me, compilation album, I ever kind of seen like what DJ Klin for lack of a better term, is doing now. I kind of seen you do that first. Like at first, I didn't even know what the compilation was. When you hit me, I was like, yeah, I got to mention in my compilation. I was like, yeah, whatever. I actually technically didn't know
back then. So when was that? Two? Wow? Wow? All right, So what made you want to want to do accompolation? The thing was just like um um, I had artists. I had artists needed before us at to produced with her fathers. You know what I'm saying. There was always making a lot, and like I saw that our group, like you know, the way we started like you know, fifteen sixteen and ship and we had our group, and then more Niggers came and saw a rapping and I
made demo group. The more Niggers, I made dem a group, and then some of the Niggers viewle was actually getting too wild and some of the guys like, yo, you're doing too wild much or too wild, and we just made them a cool group. So we was actually doing a label thing already. You know what I'm saying. Yeah, what I'm saying with no money though, but you know, we're just doing crazy saying talent shows and beating everybody down, you know what, you know, just New York City. Yeah,
nobody better than us. Happen ball fights and ship. But it um after like I said, doing X album, locks album, different things and ship and I'm like, all right, put the album out. I'm not a rapper, so what the funk I'm gonna do. Like you know, I actually did rapping one song, but I was just working. But at the same time, I'm like, all right, let me just call anybody up and me hit up. I think he was just coming up body in the Trump and I was like, yeah, that was going I hit you up.
You know what I'm saying, Um, yeah, find him chapped on there with you. Um, I think I did ghetto presses for now It's around the same time. So I hit him up. He came there, want to play rough um Scarface even notice I picked him. It was always one of my favorite, my favorite artists, hit Face up. Um. I did my my deal as a joint venture with Promity because I didn't want to sign directly to the labels because I was getting checks from the labels average
the bad Boy. I'm in the whole death Chain building and I'm like, I love what Master p door. You know what I'm saying. One of my ideas as far as like all right, come on, we're gonna do this ship, you know what I'm saying. So I was actually following master Pace steps, you know what I'm saying. So I went to Priority out West different things, and no limit was on there. And when I got to the building, that's for me and p Man and he was getting me all type of points this ship. And in fact,
real story, Andrew Shack was the president one time. I remember flying out Thicks. I'm like, niggas is playing games with letting the budget loose and ship, you know what I'm saying. And I was smart because I wanted to wile out, but I know my wile out in the backseats, you know what I'm saying. So I'm like, fuck pist off, huffing the puff around the office. People like, yo, let me say you how to do this ship boot kick the doorp in Jo Shock, my man got something to say.
And you're sitting there with all my apps and ship apps like Andrew Shock was like, oh you were him. Oh my god. I'm like, that's how you do it, hey, Nickel Freeman, motherfucker budget up. You know what I'm saying. And boom. You know you're not to move around. I mean, you know, probably to do a couple of times. Yeah, you know what I'm saying. So we just saw the making. Some things happened. I'm like, Pete, I'm doing an album
Boom song fourth with some of silk. Let me get silk, Boom, you're silk, So going on the joint, don't limit go and make a lot, make some noise. That so now so now and people see you, they're gonna notice a whole dramatic rate change rate laws for you. And you first walked in, you told me that you was it. You thought you was battling or something, So you want to share that with the people now. Actually, um, at the operation, actually right after it was on ex funeral.
It was the Barkley Center, which was like that Saturday, and then um that Sunday was the funeral and like right after the funeral, had to jump on the hobbics out out of our o eraction. The next day, you know what I'm saying. And Dad to check my chest because last year I had a lung infection. What I'm saying, you had to check. People thought it was COVID wasn't. I'm saying. I had to check my chest for you know,
lung affection to make sure what's the cancers. So you know they cutting the po where they put me, sweep, cutting neck open, got tissue samples, blood samples, you know, all the good ship you know what I'm saying, Boom, they'll all in there. So um they checked from the cancer but cancer free, nothing in there, you know, God bless. And they had because what you said, because you said, what was it a dirty level? What was it? I
had a lung effect affect. You know what I'm saying, which you actually had to get a blood clout in my life Oh wow, I'm saying, you know, the crazy shit this is half while smoking. Everything happened after I stopped smoking cigarettes and drinking. Wow, what do you think the cause? You know now, I think my body was was was used to smoke so many years. Right. You know what I'm saying, what withdraw cold turkey and I'm one of the type of intelligent dickheads. I'm done. That's
a body said, No, I'm shot. You know what I'm saying. So you know they tested boom uh. First test came back negative. Trying to let it grow for a couple of moms. Negative growth for a couple of moments, still negative, So cancer free. I'm good, God bless God. So now all right, now this is um. I remember getting I believe it was a CD huh, And I believe this is how it happened. Me and Oas was on the way of the studio jungle and the dude was playing around with this idea. But we get to the studio.
I played nos a bunch of beans, then I put on the grease beat and I remember us just laying this ship in twenty minutes, like no exaggeration. As soon as it came on body in the trunk and I remember you just giving me the beat tape, and I remember me calling you that night and you come into the studio, but I never asked you how to How did you because I remember you actually said you, I think you should make the intro a little longer and you have to speak about I think. But I never
asked you, like how did you feel that night? Like because like it wasn't like I called yourself using your beat. I just used you. You gave you had to. I had to beat tape for a while. As soon as Nois heard the beat, we just started writing, like me and him like literally didn't even speak to each other. It was just like yo, he said, I'm gonna say this, I'm gonna say this, I'm gonna say this, and we did it. So you kind of heard almost complete record when you first heard it. Like how did you feel
like when you when it hit factory? I think it was a hit factory over the new hit Factory, not the old one. And you came down and how did you subscribe? When you walk in the studio, Man, it was like y'all understand, like um definitely coming to the game, like y'all was in the game like before. So I'm a fan already. You know what I'm saying. I'm a fan of you fan uh Son, you know what I'm saying. And just ship you have said something to me that night.
I don't know if you remember. Yeah, it was like your Greece. I feel were going to know what you're for a long year anything, anything that's going on. And it's been like that. It's been like that ever since I was in that clear sound like this thing is magical. It's really you know what, this is really my my first like really theatrical record. That's why when you said Theantrica earlier, Um, it was crazy because I remember that
was not his only thing I had had. We have already had I loved my life, um, and I thought I was gonna use it with him on there. I already had all these other records with him. He was like, Yo, let's do a concept record. And then this was just the perfect record. And to this day that's the most record. People always ask me to make a part too, too, and it's just like, you know, like without all those
elements at that time. But but again, like what was that moment when you know, because I like cool, you know me and you have had a relationship. You had gave me a me tape. But this is Nas now like like you knows just that bar when you came in and you're a complete record with Norria Nas talking about body and what was you saying in your mind? Now it was fucking magical, Like you understand, Like Norrie Naskarball, I'm like niggas on the mat, I'm gonna make a master,
do you know what I'm saying? Boom and the right to the thing, but the story, you know what I'm saying. And then after that, something's like you got more those I'm like yeah, and that's when we did get a person. So that god damn makes a noise that crazy. I don't know if you know our shows about giving people the flower Man giving people, they usually drink at this top. But I figured, you know what, if you ain't drinking, I'm gonna guy out it out with you. You know
what I'm saying. So that's what reason want to drink. But I see you got the flowers sweater. You know what I'm saying. He's he's a butterinos. You know what I'm saying, Like, come on, got that made even But let me just tell you something for real, because you know I usually do this while I'm taking shots at whatever, but I figured, you know, you ain't drinking. I ain't wanna um uh you know you know what? Yeah, exactly, So I want to tell you to your face. Man,
you're a legend. You're a guy that you know, you in every different era. You're a guy that gets props and in most places. But I want you to get more props. You know what I'm saying, because you really deserve that. Really a great guy, you really, um you know, you're really made a real staple in this game. And in case people didn't know that pace, nobody didn't tell you. I'm gonna tell you that to your face. I wanna
tell you that I'm drunk. You know what I'm saying, Like, you know what I'm saying, And you deserve your flowers. You're a real good guy. You're one of the greatest producers of all time, and we wanted to get so we're going, we're gonna yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's just do the picture and then you gotta do some drops. All right.
