Speaker 1

Welcome to Drink Champs, the production of The Black Effect and I Heart Radio and it's Drink Chess, motherfucking podcast. Mason, he's a legendary queen's rapper. He's like, is your boy in O R. He's a Miami hippop pioneer. What up is d j e f N? Together they drinking up with some of the biggest players in the most professional unprofessional podcast. And your number one sort for drunk fact drink Mother Day is New Year's e. That's time for Drink Champs. Drink up Mother Mother? Would it good be?

Hopefully's when it should be? This is your point in or what up is d j e FN? This tim crazy war? Yeah? Up right now, when you're talking about state boos, when you talk about a legend, when you talk about when you google Virginia, this man face should pop up like the state farm doesn't already, I think

it does. But the man we talk about bars bar lord, we talk about lyrical when you're talking about everybody from his state has to pay homage to him, the first very one from that and we won't get to the I if this is the South or notion, But the man has transition the man is a ghostwriter. He's done numerous he's still here and we're don't get to all the controversy everything, But we don't even know right now, Virginia's number one representative in a world. Motherfucking maskillers. Can't

we say mankillers? You just wanted me just say something, right because we have a groun'm on here. And this became a controversy topic. He declared Virginia as being the South, but I said that Baltimore was the South to the ball. That was a controversy. People did not like Yeah. They were like, no, we are not the South. Ye be more, be more now, I wouldn't say, be more in the South.

So the South starts in Virginia. Yeah, we light on the middle of the Mason Dixon and was the capital of the South, the capital of the South, you know, during the Confederacy, the wealth all day. Wow. Yeah. I kicked out of Virginia Mall because I was, um, yeah, sego. I was walking through and people were following me. And instead of like the police said yo, you know stop the people the police said you gotta go. I said, listening,

I said, I said to continue. Crazy, So let's just take it back right because a lot of people got the uh well there's another for real thing too. A lot of people got Telly Rowley was like a person who kind of like made Virginia. How is that accurate to say? But Teddy was from New York? So how did how did that? How how did that go? When Teddy came down? Um, we were like enamored, you know what I'm saying, lost so to speak, because it was like he was right there, you know what I'm saying.

So you be like like nigga, Like nigga, you be in school at lunch and Nigga's like, yo, Michael Jackson's people like you. So Um, Teddy coming down and making that move opened up like he opened up a whole fucking stratosphere of opportunities. Like you gotta think Teddy's the only nigga that was a super producer and made like we're not made, but opened the door for two other super producers. Yeah, I'm got a whole genre for him,

new jack Swingers, you know what I'm saying. Like, So like you you go, you know, you ride by the studio and see the fucking lamb Older for all You're like think it like it's right there. I'm saying, super close, and I don't want the places that Teddy could have went. What made him pick? You have no clue, I have no clue. I remember being at something in the water the first one. Yeah, at the Yeah, I remember being at something something in the water. My man, Bookie, you

know what I'm saying, something man bogie. We're standing there watching Teddy performed, and he's saying he said to me, he said, skills. Do you realize that Teddy is performing rump Shaker on the same beach that he shot the video hosted at a fucking festival body he put on

at some amount of years later, Like, that's insane. So women was the first time because I want to be even push your tea sat shout push, So you know this is what I do when I um and a few people, I hit people that's around them, across them. He said, no real story, just that he was really the first rapper that was truly proud of from the v A he was performing with the tribe, I believe when they came to v A four show, and that

alone meant that he made it in my eyes. I remember his outfit the Tommy or Polo Chino styles, zip up. We weren't like friends or anything back then. We were it even from the same town. But I thought he represented via the way I wanted it to see it done. He probably he probably doesn't remember that time, might not even remember me there. I don't. I never knew he

was there, you know what I'm saying. But n like but like, but let me let me try to say a little bit when when people thought of Virginia it was one person they thought of at one time, because I know we just thought Teddy, but Teddy, Let's just be clear. Teddy from Hall yeah all day. You like when when you google you all of these people names from pushing t to around Off. What was that like? That's one part question. Let's just answer that question first.

I mean, to be first was always weird. You know what what I'm saying, like because it's so money and nigga's niggas forget the first. You know, I'm saying that they're quick to him saying I don't feel like we pay enough respects to the bands and the herds, and you know what I'm saying, like like that, So it's like when you first, it's weird. But I knew that where I was from had to be represented in a way

that people hadn't seen it before, you know what I'm saying. Like, so it was niggas calling us country, niggas calling us baders. It's the same same ship with Atlanta in a way, like my nigga like like we we we get fucking busy, like we do what we do. Like half of your nigga's down here in school anyway, come down and get show money, drug money. You know what I'm saying that this is what it is. So it's like what you ain't gonna do is clown on us. But nobody was

out there. The only nigga was was Dangelo, and that's R and B Like like, oh you know Diangel little you know. I'm like, Nick, what you want to do? Yeah, I'm like he came out first, so I shouldn't have dropped the album dropped. He's held as a R and B superstar and he's like, oh, you know, he don't really say the town. I'm like a lot of pussy. I'm like, nigging here, on B artist, what you want to make a song called fucking cruising in Richmond? Like he on B artists so it was up to me

too to hold that flag. And I was like, when I get the shot, like it's gonna be a problem because it was like Michael Vick and yes, and then you like was it yeah? And then we kind of knew because I want to say, like I don't want to say like like conscious, but you were like you you're aware. But when we looked at Michael and we were looked at these guys, and then we looked up Newport News, yeah, bad news. Yeah, So what was it like hearing hearing these guys or you. Yeah, we called

we called a bubba chuck. What I'm saying, like, we need that's all we knew, so vic bubba chuck to see them make it, you know what I'm saying. We knew like that we had people in that we were talented, you know what I'm saying. Because you gotta understand, like I'm from where I'm from. I'm from a town called Richmonds, like an hour away from where for rele there. So yeah, they filmed like Virginia Beach, but seven cities in that

whole region. So imagine imagine fucking Miami, Imagine Florida Miami. And let's say Fort Myers is twenty minutes away. Orlando's fifteen minutes away, fucking and it's a whole different city. So they got seven different cities from where I'm from, like an hour back towards in Inland. You know what I'm saying, Like rich med so like to see Ai and Vic. Man, it was like somebody you know what

I'm saying. And they was rapping in D'Angelo. He was rapping it but he he r and b So it's you know what I'm saying, He ain't about the way eight chains in the vena what I'm saying. So ay man, it's like a guy him and Vic like gods what I'm saying. Wow? Wow, man, let's make some noise for that. Yeah, I don't know bootles, you want to move boggles, Bros. Getn't camera bro Oh that's what they what we got. But you're like regular ship, right, get my part? We do it? Yeah? So um so boom, how did you

even come up? Two? Okay, okay, put you on cue tip. I was discovering by Q tip you went too fast. Let's let's describe that. Is this this show that what your tea is talking about? Yes? Well later, So so ninety three, I'll go to Jack the Rapper in the landing. Hold on, hold on, hold on. Those those are the days. I'm sorry to be old right now, but listen, your motherfucker's at Give me to look at your Instagram and you get tags we used to have called Jack the

fucking Reverence. Yeah. We we're gonna fucking line to see DJ read Alert thanks to C. D J. Collins to see these people. Yeah, and that was real great. I'm sorry, you just gotta be a flashback. I'm sorry, man, I called the Holy Ghost the Holy rap Ghost. I'm sorry. Was on the original. Yeah, yeah, original before before I could after. So go to I go to Atlanta with with three of my homies and I'm in this lobby I got. We got passed it, so we legit. We

ain't sneaking around. We got you know, we paid the money, what I'm saying. So I'm walking around and it's just it's in the lobby. It's huge ass hotel, fucking sixty floors, right. So I see these niggas in the corner like bopping, like niggas is like it's it's a b playing out of here. B I see niggas like bopping. I'm like, yo, who that that be hard saying. I'll walk over and

I see fucking cut it. But it's it's it. It's it's like, imagine this this this ship right here, This is a plant, but it's like the lobby so big. It's a fucking tree in the lobby. But bone, this is just some of that Midnight Marauders is about to come. He's he's this is out of this. He found out like he was doing he had did one love. He did the mob deep ship like Nigga's like, oh he doing them beat? So I see it was a producer

from from Jersey's name is lot Teeth. These niggas had a radio and they're bopping, and I'm looking and I can't get in. It's too many niggas around to get in. I go to the back of the fucking tree. This ship is like six feet tall. It's like a fucking potted plant. I crawled up on the back of the ship and walk over. So this nigga looks over his shoulder, came out of the tree like he looks over his shoulder, like, damn,

who is sonning the trees? But I'm bobbing and I'm like, I'm vibing, so nig ain't trying to rob, you know, so some tips like nothing, so it's a nigga rapping for cute tip and I'm sitting there like, no nigga like now it's now, so I bom I started rapping. So I started rapping and he like he looking like yo, this nigga crazy, like this ship crazy. The nigga that I cut off cut me back off. So now I'm so I cut him off, go mucking. Yeah, yeah, I

was definitely back I go him by body. The nigga security comes over, Yo, y'all gotta disperse your my man come down at the tree like y'are doing too much? Are you doing? Ship in the tree? Where from the trip? So I get up off the tree, but I'm standing over to the side, and you know, niggas is walking up the ship like this is my tape You're from Jersey with people. But I see him. He keeps like looking to it right like I guess to see if I'm there. So I'm like, I ain't going to way,

I'm just gonna stay here. So I'm standing there. I see the nigga. He's like, yo, yo, commit something. So I walked over like, Yo, what's your name? I said, Mad Skills. He's like, yo, saying you else where are you? Where you from? Sir? I was like, I'm from I'm from Virginia. He's like from where? I said Virginia. He was like, you know what you're doing? After this, I said, now I'm just chilling my nigga, Like what what's up? He's like, Yo, you want to roll to this radio station?

And I was like fuck yeah. We go up to his room. This first time I seen the nigga had a sweet. I'm used to walk in the hotel rooms and this is the fucking hotel. We walk in the room, it's the sweet. I'm like, oh, they got the whole. She's like polo shit everywhere, fucking closed tims. You know what I'm saying this. Then in the third he said,

y'all gonna get dressed real quick. Let me change the old sitting quick yo, And it's a CD player right here goes the nigga goes, but it's cute, and I'm saying so the nigga goes, jo Um, I'm gonna get dressed real quick, yo. This the album and then niggat hit a button and I hear way and comes out like before the only thing out US Awards tour. No, it's just me if you if you didn't come, who you are, nigga? Pep straight locks no Instagram back then. So I'm sitting there and I'm like what then is

that some jash like what the fund did this? And I had but the Linden Bulevard represented and I'm like, oh, Ship like the fucking album, so I hate the fucking album. I think the next song was Awards. So I think the next song was the fight. Uh went through Lyndon Boulevard to get the milkshakes. This nigga comes out of the room like, Yo, you're ready. I'm like yeah, like nigga, because I like you, elder you at that point, Ship,

I'm like early twenties. Like one we get in the elevator, light throws in the elevator, his road manager, we go downstairs. We go downstairs, and me being thinking mind I had one of those yellow fucking code that caim I said, Yo, let's take a picture real quick. He's like, all right, cool, the van is supposed to come up take the picture. This little kid walks into the picture. I got to it on my grands crazy little kid walks into the picture. I get into the van, slide over. He get in

the front seat. This nigger goes, Yo, this is my man merse and this mace and I turned around and daylight as in the fucking back of the van, and I'm like, nigga, I'm in the name or something like, this was you? Officially No, I wasn't, but I swear I wish I was. And he like he like, he tells post. He goes, you're the nigger. I possible. He crazy, he's like your Sonniger that he was lady to talk. I think about it. This is you know, while it's

like bred man is technically woo tags get it? Yeah yeah, okay, all right, So the hip hop Confession series, right, what was what was the motive behind that? Well? I started that's just like ten years old, right, So I started it. And this is what's crazy. I not not really. I'm running around and I'm asking niggas like ship like yo, like tell me some stories, like tell me some hip hop show, like what's what's your hip hop confessions? So it was niggas like, yo, you know, I never really

you know, listen to songs. So I don't like songs or as the MC. I know you the hottest thing gout don't like them like it was you would say that you really wouldn't say around the homes. So hip Hop Confession started because me and Big sat down and I had it. Yeah, and I had a whole it was a whole TV show. Yeah, yeah, I had an old TV show and we put the ship out and then after like six episodes, it got it got harder to find niggas to to want to tell the truth,

to tell stories. So I fell back off the ship. Than a year later podcast happened, and I'm like, fuck, NIGA was earlier. So the nigga has been asked me for ten years straight, YO, bring back hip Hop Confessions. So I just brought it back like this year. I just wrunn about so um super Naps, what was your relationship your battle I mean, if he was a battle MC at that time, you're going through Supernatural. I send it. I sended the demo in the back of the source

to Clark Kent Superman Battle for Work. Yeah, that's my old g I have funny Clark Kent story too. Everybody I send it. I send the tape in and fucking I get picked. I get to New York and it's the New Music Seminars thirty off right there on fucking Midtown Manhattan, fucking forty nine on whatever, Hella Green Badges all that ship. So it's sixteen M sees that the DJ battle did the rap Battle. It's sixteen M sees.

I see this one nigga walking with dreads. I'm like, yeah, this is nike A different, Like it's gonna be me and him like this Nigga different. So he started running, running past motherfucker's getting them out of there. I'm doing the same thing. Puffers Puffer is on the Judge of Table, Tracy Waits, Sheena Leicester and Todd one from from MTV, from your TV raps. So nigga get to the end and dam is there like this nigga can't like, they

can't decide who's gonna win. And I think the winner was you got a demo deal and the jacket and a ring, and then the second person got the demo. They nobody know about that. So Boo mus keep going back and forth. He hopped in the crowd. He freestyle about what niggas get on, I hop into crowding after him, freestyle by what niggas. Niggas like yo, these niggas said,

what they have on? He like Clark like Yo. They're going back and forth, puff like nah, man like these niggas, don't let them go to Clark like yo, Nigga is like, we got to get the funk out of here. So they do the whole um the apologip yo' giving up give it up for supernatural from Brooklyn, give it up for mad skills from Virginia. Later I find out he from Brooklyn, but then he was from Indiana. But then he then they say, like, Yo, this man was nice enough.

He's gonna take the ring in the jacket. He's gonna give him the demo deal. So I'm like, I don't want the fucking demo deal and they want the ring in the fucking jacket Like me, I want to be the best. I'm not coming up here to be second. So I came in second and I got the demo deal, which which kept me in tune with Clark. I go outside and it's a cipher outside jay Z outside demolishing

niggas running through blow for us. No niggas sign rappers was looking at the cipher like, oh you're not I want the props with this and getting straight in the car service like our home was killing niggas young. It's a young green Landing and they're looking like a fucking fourteen year old hole and Clark is behind him acting out all the words this and the dird But me and Clark ended up having a relationship afterwards, and Clark did my demo. I used to go to Clark's house

and talk about is he like a dumb man? Record? No? No, no, I would go to Clark kiss I'm driving, driving, I dropped back and forth and I'm going to Clark's house and I'm still trying to I came in second, so I'm still trying to prove not Nick, I'm the best. And He's like, y'all want you listen to this nigger I got named named Jay And I'm like all right. So he played me records and Ship and I'm like you I'll smash that nigger Clark and he like, yeah, yeah,

comes to listen to record. Listen to the records again. He played he played me in a record call What's in the name? Ship was most crazy shot I heard my life. He was talking about he was talking about hustling, but he was talking. He was using his names and the sort like rappers name. It's crazy. It's still ten records I heard at Clark's house I've never heard before.

So then I guess maybe after the third time me and Clark did some ship, Clark just gets tired of and he like, he played me another jay Z record. I'm listening to the ship. I'm like, I see your club man, Yo, put me in the room. Then they got I bought it, and he like, Nigga, I funk with you. I'm gonna do your demos. Jay Z is at Jesus Christ a rat. Stop talking about j Jesus Christ a rat like you got He's like before before. So at this point I'm like, I'm like the g

so boom, I'm doing it yours. Fast forward way later, I'm in ninety eight or somethhing. I I'm signed with Timberland. We're in the Manhattan Center and in the little studio knocking out joint. So it's me. I want to say, Tim, Pete, Pablo, and Jimmy Douglas, right Tim, I think Pete is there don't give me the line. They left me and Jimmy Douglass in the studio this ninety eight whole. This nigger comes into the studio, just me, Jimmy Douglass, jay Z.

He like, yo, we're tim man. He's like yo, he left. I think he'd be right back. He said, yo, pull pull it up? What he what he wants me to pull it up? He pulls the beat up beat playing, and this nigger takes the tennis ball and just starts throwing the tennis ball to the floor, to the wall, back to his hand, floor to the wall, back to his hand. He just mumbling, floor to the wall, back to his hand, floor to the wall, back to his fifteen minutes. The nigga looks at Jimmy Duginson goes your bravery.

I'm sitting there like I'm ready for I heard I heard rumors, right, because her rumors, Jay don't right. Never, I'm like nigga. This nigga goes into the booth. Is you're Pemp nigga, Yeah, Pemp nigga, Loso shrip nigga, los shrimp nigga, and what's her name? Jinger? And I can't like nigga starts doing the verse right, Nigga starts rapping nigga. But like jajover Nigga before, I never got no player. Now these bitches wanted to give me more head this

shot day. When I'm in l A, the the six Fords ill, when I'm in a t Ellis to coop the Ville. When I'm in Miami, I'm hopping through on the all black Ninja with the sock over my shoe, Mommy sending the chew like who can stopping you? I'm like, yo, nigger, like this nigga did all this ship in one tape. I'm sitting there going yet this thing is a great like we ra that niggas like, I've never seen it before. But hol fucking did that ship in like one take

and left. It was like back two versus two hooks left. I didn't to get the sea chap no no. And then months later I hit a record and I'm just like this, it's naked bad he different. So your whole NAS category, who are you going with? I would have to say j because you experienced that nos. Nas watched me on the song though, so and NAS watched me on a Timberland song like straight did me in so so he next year we did a song together called to My Niggas and Uh, I did my verse Classics Ship.

I did my verse and I'm fucking I'm on Tim's album and Ship the song comes out, I'm like, oh, Ship, I'm on a song with na fucking be come on it, don't stop be come on. I'm like, oh, Ship, nos about to be on this song. This thick comes out. Know it splats your dudes and cats. I used I used hanging off my chest because my cash improved. I'm just like, oh, I didn't get a chance to change my ship, like nigga like this. Nigga was like instead of Benny Honness, y'all can eat plenty of nass. Like

this nigga is going hell. And I'm just like, I go back to Virginia. Nigga's like, yeah, you got washed going on. But then I got a song with nas and I'm saying, take it away from you, because you know, for years, the year long discussion was who had the better verse of bad and TV right for me? Right? And I actually really don't care. But you know, sometimes when I pay attention, but overwall, I always looked at

the record as its totality. I never looked at you know, part had the better verse or nature had the better verse. I think I had the better problem. I didn't like when you don't look at it my totality. Everybody didn't at But does that take away from the record when when people look at it like that, when people look at it like this verse like to me, I look I like ren the game as a total soul. I didn't relate to Marshall's verse, But I didn't say Marshall's

versus whack. I like it just saw does that there's a factor that you Marshall watched him on that though the only time Hope ever, guy was you know why? You know what? For me? You know why? For me? Like when j J is rapping, he's doing jay. When fucking Eminem starts rapping, it sounds like somebody's playing a instrument. It sounds like a nigga sat down like the keys

and win. Now, when I'm in the position to talk to these kids and they listen, I ain't no politician, but I kicking with it, and I'm just like who I got to agree with you, but I also have to disagree with you because if they're talking about ship that I don't care, like absolutely kill you and they don't disrespect then yeah, no, never visires killing my mom's like that's whe go. No, I got mad at her plenty of time. Let out here. We are as young

as black men, as funked up as our lives. It's coming. We love our mom waks like like like hot was like even though he wasn't crashing like Nigga, we could never make a video fucking putting up shovel of our mom and if we did, BT wouldn't playoffs. I was killing the bags giving that you got a video. So I'm how I saw my mama like Nigga wasn't like, But for me, it's just his caduce Like I've never

seen understand what you're saying. I'm never looking at the technicality of how he's wrong because I've never seen nobody fucking manipulate vows the way that Nigga do. I'm talking about him like when you listen to lose yourself like the two viale sounds and lose yourself as um and et right, you got um, you got so when he starts sucking wrapping moms spaghetti, these weak arms are heavy.

That's vomit on his sweater already, Moms spaghetti. He's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready to drop bomb, like he when when he puts together ship. But when you puts together ship, I know it's as close to perfect as it can be because the motherfucker take full Like Nigga, we walk into booth one take hold. We think we want to take hold, Like know what I'm doing, Nigga said, trash, know what I'm saying, like he will sit down and go. These are the words

that fucking fit. No other words in the English ain't wha was fit because if they did, they'd be here. It's like he's writing music, Nike. I've taught classes on him. But I think one of the craziest songs of all time is the Gun. Yes, yes, yes, that's it is incredible. Man. I couldn't understand how you did that? Right? Did that?

What is a song writing? Yes? Very very much so, but also to the point of where it's like like some people just gifted you know what I'm saying, to be able to like we've heard motherfucker's to signify themselves as weed and but signify themselves as hip hop and should I did it. Naws is different when it comes to that ship and then it gets still looking twenty one, you know what I'm saying, Like, so he not he wanted the greats man, So I was happy to get

washed on the song by by Esco. Now, when we move with you a lot, one of the first things that come up is this famous ghost ride, right, which I ain't gonna tell you nothing. I just said, but how is one go about that? Like what happens? It's the record lady. When I suggested that no no, I was in New York, New York DJ at the time, I ain't gonna say what he was, he was right for fabulously check a little bit. Just now, I'm in the studio and I'm you know, I'm just in New York.

I'm Virginia nigga from in New York, like, and I have signed a big beat and fucking he comes in into the wrong room like like, oh, ship, I thought I thought this was the beat room. I said, no, no, it's next door whatever. He's like, okay, cool, oh ship skills Right, I'm like, yeah, you know what you're working on? So I play him some ship and they're like, no, this ship hard, nigga, let me get this, and I'm like the DJ saying yeah, but the only thing order

is the hook. He's like, you should let me get this and I'm like, yeah, let me let me put my wraps on it. I'm not knowing that the nigga saying I want this and I want to put other rappers on it. I don't. I don't talk with you like this. I know who you are. You use cool, but this ship hard. The first time bom ship comes, what's you said? This was? I want together? It might have been unique, have been unique, and then um so I give him the ship was the hook and it

ship comes out. They hit me for the splits. I got a big percentage of the record, but considered writing yet because you know, but nobody knew that. But I hear these rapping niggas saying my hook and I'm just like, damn. They they could put me on the record, but they read did the hook the hook? The check comes and I'm like, oh, yeah, I'm good. I don't gotta be. I don't gotta be on the record what I'm saying.

So then my name started moving around like yo yo, Because some niggers have businesses and ENTI season, they don't have the time to sit down the craft the Hot six teams. So that's where somebody like me coming there because we hear these funny stories like Rico Love and you know my friend car Dad. Uh. You know, they're very honorable too, But that's I always want to know, like, like, how does that happen? So you're saying that was the first time, all right to what your words? That? Yo? Right?

So now I'm like, oh, I'm gonna just send this c D to whoooooom and they're like, yo, who wrote this? Like oh, you know the nigga skills from Virginia? Oh yeah, yeah, not nigga nigga pull up. So it was it was getting me in doors that I might not have been able to get in before I take something, I'll tell you something, and I blew this up for um. I used to going Farrell sessions and he used to have old records for people, and I used to be like,

oh with the verses. I used to like, oh, ship, you're gonna kill us, and He's like stuff for me, but I'd be him referenced out, yeah, you mean him doing he said. He said, of them, yeah, yeah, I threw it up here, plenty of them. Is that how you do it? Like you just send himself? But my thing is and I'm right, I right, you know I started with hip hop, but should I hadn't done like

fucking you know, R and B records, Pop records. So after a while, I it's like I might reference the whole thing, but then just leave something for the artists if they want to hop in what I'm saying and make it their own, like lead the bridge open, lead the second verse open. You know what I'm saying. What did you think? I'm sorry, I cut you up. I'm going good. What did you think about when you heard Drake reference tracks? It was I don't have the sooner later?

What do you mean by that? Like they was gonna come out? You know what I'm saying. Like because at the end of the day, nigga's like us, we can in nineties seven ninety eight, we gave a fun you and then if you tell me, Rock Him didn't write microphone film knocking all this ship exactly. But for these kids today, like they don't fucking care, Like niggas don't even have to. They don't even have a proper place to go look to find the credits. Does that matter?

No matter? A hit record matters, A hit record matters who wrote it? Don't matter in one. You ain't even right your ship. I'm gonna be honest with you. This is how I knew. I was on the fence a little bit. One of my greatest records that I love, it's Easy saying ice Cube drives that I say, and I grew up the whole time. Now find the actually was yeah, the thing easy he actually said said everybody knew Easy wasn't a rapper. Every we didn't. I didn't know event I'm gonna be honest one. I was scared

of it way you're scared of competent to see. I thought Compton was jail like Regen's was like, oh shoot, I don't wanta I gotta arrest it one time. I'm don't take you to Compton. But he's like, what I was? You know, Levin, But they made it notorious? When now, how how is it I look at Easy as a great? And he said that, how is it I look at Dr Dre as a great? And he said that I look at the care if I write rhymes, I write, Paul,

I look at him. It's a great But if I found out that balance rope, mad skills, well I'm mad at you, right, I get it. Why is that because we because we you know what it is, we still at some point we still want to believe niggas. You know what I'm saying, Like when when I understand pre pre spotifaller ship, when I went to the Best Buy and I spent eighteen dollars on your fucking CD and I got in the car and put that ship in.

I still believe some of them, like we believe Like you said, I believe if I went to Compton and I wasn't right, I believe I would get robbed out of the gate. Like niggas made us believe everything else, so that the lifestyle and the ship came along with it. And what you gotta understand is when you put out that kind of ship, that's what's gonna come back to you. So I never forget O G told me like Yo, like Nigga said, Yo, make rhymes. Who you want to

see in the hotel lobby after your show? Who? O G? And Philly? I did a show with the roofs and me and my DJ and the lobby drinking and the nigga like he's sitting there and the nigga said, Yo, you know who told me that? You say, because you were trapping on the record. I'm sorry. The nigga said, Yo, what y'all do? I said, y'all I wrapped. He was like, you make music? I said yeah, because he just did the Electric Factory. She was sold out. Who do you mean?

He's like, hey, let me tell you something, young blood, and he got about it. That got us Gary leave. Nigga walked off and then tap me on the show. He said, YO, make records for who you want to see in the lobby after your show. And I said, why the funk? I ain't even making records for bitches this whole time because after after at my show, after my show, I get niggessn't want to talk about why Trip called Quest broke up? And what's my top five? Like I don't get like I might get women, but

not like l L you know what I'm saying. Like, but you don't think it's a difference between who considered themselves a rapper versus an MC or you think that's going too deep that might be a little deep because at some you know, after a while, it's like motherfucker's can't really gauge the difference between the two. You know what I'm saying, Like the lines get blurred. Yeah, the lines definitely get blurred between you who's living in and who ain't. And then it's like who kids like these

motherfucker's ain't breakdancing. They ain't writing your feeding about this. They're definitely not. You're not doing nothing that I did it. I did everything that I did just to do it. I did. I did too. I did too. I had my fucking my first My first rap name was fucking corny as fun. But my first rap name is MC y'all who with the ball to be? It's true, he says it all the time. I'm mad didn't work out. My first name was the Funky Orators. Come on that

right now. That doesn't at all something that at all? So all right, kids entertainment, he won that was your label and the kids entertainment. Yea. Yeah, it's just me trying to keep as much of the bread as I could. Okay what I'm saying, Okay, keep a because you know they wasn't spend all of us went through contact one, every everybody, everybody, everybody, which was land speed before that. When it was right after this was I think there's

at the gym, got of popping you fly high. You know what we don't forgetting he got last week, get this thing on there to fifty he put out ship through there. No, I think that was in the original lands, but I'm talking about pop lands. Fifty dragged it after like, thank you, sir. Do some shots man, kids and god, water man, this is not water chipping out for you, for you, for you. I got. I'm a white right, I'm do a white grape shot a white gap we got.

We gotta shout out the Organic Food Kings's incredible. We got the truck outside at Organic Food Kings. Make sure you check them out. We're gonna beating them all the time. Right now, that's the same ship. No, it's different color. That's one is bootleg? Which one is bootleg? We don't want so what would say? Oh yeah, y'all holding on, you got you still got your pit bullshit. They cut you with jack. That's that's why that's right here now,

that's why it always comes out for the shot. So boom, the older go back to Q tip was this pre or post the beef with with Rex in Effect posts, So how is that weird? Like because that's Virginia. I had to get involved that. Yeah, Like no, it was um you know because Rex in Effect was halland but they was running around in Virginia Beach with Teddy. You know, I think they I think they took offense to something that fight said Fife said, strictly hardcore tracks, not a

new Jack swing God bless God bless fight. Um, and they thought they felt some kind of way about it. You know, I wasn't unstan he becoming that a lot of people. Yeah, he has to wear always like doing this thing like um yeah, but I think they jumped him with some ship and he had the patch of the video the video Sex on the Platfort Sex on the Fat. They say, here, I don't know that's that's we talked about it. We talked about it with ship.

I didn't know that yeah, yeah, yeah, so we forget a lot of But now he was very instrumental and you know, I'm running around with him and like I said, after when I met him after the night after the Jack the rapping ship, he gave me his number. So I get back home and my my mom said, yo. Um. Like two weeks later, my mom said, Yo, somebody named RiPP called you. I'm like, who she likes? Somebody named Ripped? I don't know. He left a message in the answer machine.

So I go hit the button on the answer machine and I heard, Yo, you know what I'm saying this this this just tipping. I'm saying, yo, Yo, I want to know something like how before you live from Hampton, Virginia. Son hit me up. So I get off the phone. I'm like, Yo, this ship is crazy. He's like, my fucking life could change. So I called nigga back. He asked me how far I lived from via from Hampton, which is down there. Bob Pea Mack. I go to

the show and I've been with him. I have been done a a couple of shows with it all nv A. I go to this show and they would let me freestyle at the end over God Lives through the beat for God Lives through. So we we do it. My man with me. We're leaving. We're leaving, about to ride back to Richmond down down the highway. This nigga comes

up behind me with sucking silver goloshes. Then he had silver gobbles on his head, a silver Donna Karen fucking jacket, some black pants, and some silver Donna Karen fucking rain boots. And nigga says, yo, man, won't you just on stage with tipping them? And I was like yeah, and he was like, yo, I gotta I gotta meet him, Man, you gotta introduce me. And while we're standing there talking, I'm looking at this nigga, like, Yo, this nig is

weird as fun. The toll buses at the light blinker blinker on ship about the move and I'm sitting there looking at this nigga and he's like, yo, I said, Yo, you rapp He said yeah. I said what's your name? He said, Magnum the verb Lord. I said, oh okay, So I started beat boxing. My man starts sucking rapping. These niggas rapping about the planets and they want to keep Mary ship. And that was what they say that what was his name an Agnum the verb Lord. That

was his rapping name. I went with the government, but super ill like that's how that's the first time met for Rell. So come I want to get back to that. But I want to ask you something. You said he was freestyle right right, that's a freestyle. Really have to be a freestyle the age old conversation. I would say a freestyle could be two things. It could be a rhyme you never heard, or could be something made up in PROMPTU right on the spot. Right, That's that's the

only two that's gonna go that way. Otherwise just a written um. Some niggas were skilled that making it sound like I came up with it on the spot. I was real good at that. I'm throwing something around the room. Then I go into a little bit of rig six back like that old ship like, I was real good at that. I don't think it matters as long as it's dope, you know what I'm saying. Because at certain times,

it's like niggas would go to Rap City. Let's say you go see Tiger, Like, niggas got Cam there, they got Jim there, They're doing all these tapings. Fucking A Z is ready to do his ship like nigger Like, it's no point of going in the booth with ticket and trying to freestyle this ship. It's just going to eighteen million homes. Make it dope, you know what? I'm saying, nobody's gonna give a funk if you fumble. They're going back. Then this nigga fumbled in the booth, sound like you're

trying to come up, like what's the point? So I feel like I feel like, you know what it is. It's like a dunk, but it's still two points two, no matter how good at no matter how good, it's still ready even get a cop right, come one. Because in this show, we celebrate motherfucker's longevity. They want to kill people out the game over it is here we celebrate all motherfucking legends. So I look, I like the white Great. It's the best white great ever. I like that.

So I'm gonna get ready for the next one. Ready. When I listened to you, When I listened to you, it's like every single line matters to right. You think that's a plus or a card to a certain extent, because if I'm just one thing, I could miss a whole truth, the whole concept of this of this. So what do you think about years later? When I mean, when I listened back to my old raps and ship, it's it's almost like I was super fucking confident, cocky, and but who wasn't. He was ahead of the around.

I used to fucking demolish rap like that was my whole thing. And you know, um going back and forth, you know, from Virginia to New York, riding up in the turnpike, trying to get on like we knew that we couldn't just be average, you know what I'm saying, Like we had to fucking be good, you know, just stand out like like yeah, So that's how I ended

up things like yo, where you from, Nigga? Like and I'm like, I'm from Virginia And the answer was always from where I didn't know niggas like that in Va like Nanda. I'm like like nigga like trying me know what I'm saying, Like so that was my whole emo like back then. But yeah, no, man, it's just it's just it just went that way because because like I said, it's just like like it's every single line right it started.

It started out, It's like and we'll articulated, right because I wanted people to understand what I was saying, you know what I'm saying, And like the mumbleship came later like we you know, we we made sure niggas can understand what the we'll be saying, Like for the most part, you know what I mean, Like, that's what it was, so you like mumble rap for you are listen, man, I feel like I always like the music gonna do

what the youth is doing. But wait, I second hold up and said, you're gonna tell me that there's an artist out there saying I do mumble rap. Yeah, come on, man, what Acsho says I'm mumble wrap is ef? The girls clamming up like that, they say, I mean, that's one thing to call it mumble rap, but they're going out there saying that's my ship, I'm a mumble rapper. Like how bad happening? The backpack term didn't like it. That's different, man, that's a little distance because what is what it is

is that for them, it's about the feeling. For us, it's about it was about the content. They just they just cared about what feel good the music gonna do what the kid's gonna do. Bro, you know what I'm saying, Like, that's just what it is. Like I like that. I like, I don't know what they say. They don't know what I got. I'm gonna sept the new generation. The one thing that I hated bout the new generation, which blows me over, blows me over. Right, I accept him, but

I do hate this part of right. They'll sit there and make a record like uh, Michael Jordan's, They'll make a twenty three right, they'll make up Mike Tyson. I think you wan't around when Mike Tyson was people are you went around what Jordan was playing? And why not study your own craft? Why not go out there and no know who Mellie mell is to know who Grandmaster cast is? No cou hurk is. You know what I'm saying. I maybe I went too far because you know who

are honorious? I teach you not. I went to Sunday service one time and I see Cremo just walk right bobs. We looked at Krebo. We looked it up and think, ain't make our contact, but numbers it was me j the kiss and motherfucking fat jokes. I looked at it and I said, all right, he he necktizes. Then't need you. So I ain't taking personally because what I'm trying to say is I could easily like grab because easily said, oh, I don't know who it is, and I would have

had to respect that. I would have been I would have been disappointed. But you don't have to respect I don't have to respect that because I remember certain people that I didn't know when hip hopa came before me, and I wanted to study them. Right, but this, so, what do you feel like in that situation? It was but real. The culture taught us to dig in the crazy, to respect el even though we weren't from that. We weren't from the mill Melo, grand Master flags, but we

knew those were the architects of pioneers. And even though we didn't listen to them every day, we respected where they're going from. We didn't continue that we're saying like our generation because I put it in the connotation of like a car. Like so, say I had a I got a car headed in nineties and it was mine, me and you was working in the car. We was banging a lot of mob deep, a lot of tribe professors. Ship was hard like that. I gave it, y'all. I mean, y'all,

I wouldn't saying that. So I gave the car with my son, right, it's his car. Now he'll give a funk about the car and make a dog and the ship out of the car. But it's his car. Now, I see him pulling the driveway. I'm looking at it. I'm like, yo, nigga, like your back tiger, Yo, you got slow leak like nigga me cranking up. I'm like, yo, yo, corporator sound like. But he's not taking care of the car. But it's his car, so we gotta just set back and is heavy. That's I'm gonna tell you why. Because

it's a different time. We're all still in it were it's the first this is there, This mom is graduated to your grandparents. If you let yourself borrow the cars, that's what we all are with old borrowers right, nothing that this ship is really are. So we have a still choice I borrow, but we're giving him the car. I agree with you because I'm gonna tell I'm gonna tell him if he borned, I'm gonna say, yo, you've better take care. That ship is gonna die on you.

And then when the ship died on him, I just got to go. I told you, nigger, like he sucked the car. Or you get them all you change yes and put every they say this is on Sundays Nigga's My Ship hip hop late late eighties, No, not really late eighties, early nineties. So eighty nine I think the three I think we come up with the like that's that was listening. Bro. We had some funk ups back then, but it was it was It was beautiful, man, like you know what I'm saying. Like niggas was getting it

eighty nine and ninety three. Everything was fucking bumping. Everything sounded good. Everybody was making quality ship. Niggas was making other niggas get back. People were still sampling with it. Sound amazing, like niggas was hearing other niggas and then't like, no, no, I gotta go get my ship right, you know what I'm saying. We didn't trying to sound like that was the thing. You couldn't sound like any nigger. I could go to a show a fucking ninety and it'll be

too short. KRS one, Digital Underground, E P. M D. Like all these niggas on the same bill like now, you could never do no ship like that. You couldn't have fucking me Gooes on the same bill with J Cole. The ship wouldn't make sense. I don't see that ain't gonna. I would, but the kids wouldn't probably, you know what I'm saying. Like, so it's a different area. I hate the way they can't mesh now because because back then, like niggas in that area, like you, you was just

a nice nigga for then. I kind of like what Nas is doing with the kids disease. He kind of like put the hit boy. Yeah no no, not like I said, like that nigga can do no wrong, bro, Like he's Nas can't do no wrong, Like he's a fucking god in his rap ship. You know what I'm saying, Love him, Love him? So how did um because you were signed the timber at my point where he already said that, yes, how did you guys hook up? Or

how did that interally? Because you know it wasn't just a Virginia thing or was Magoo fucking I'm where the about to say, yo yo, not the nigga. And like he managed arts then do real estate? I think he man he was managing artists who good like clapping up. So what happened? Shots? It's ninety seven, it's the no way out to Virginia. In Virginia, they missy Tim and Magoo come down to to where I'm from the city I'm from to come to the show. Sucking Puff is

killing this. It's no way out. Biggie has passed and the fucking Puff is mashing. I'm backstage sucking d Dot the locks May. We're shooting dice and Ship and I see Magoo in the hallway and he's like, yo, nigga, what you're doing? And I'm like, I said, I can't see pump Daddy Like Nigga, He's like, yo, who are you winning them? When your new ship coming out? I said, Yo, No, like I ain't on Big Beat no more, like that's just Junior Mafi out. Nigga like I'm I'm I'm chilling.

I'm a free agent. Said you ain't no deal. I said, nah, he's nick you got me him. I'm like, okay, So Nigga introduces me to him. He introduced me to him. I see Missy, I seek him and Magoo is like pressing him, like, no, Nigga, this is the nigga. He gotta be with us Like this, Nigga don't got no deal. That's blast forem me. He needed to be with us. So Tim like I cool, come to the studio of the Marrow, and I drive Virginia Beach, meets him. We do like seven songs like in one day, and from

then on it was I was with him. And that's how I ended up hyping man and for Missy. And that's when I started watching this song writing process because Missy don't even have a deal and the fucking Lambeau was purple. You know what I'm saying that the Junes is truck and I'm sitting there like, what am I

doing wrong? Before you start goes right around the time because said miss Missy was doing Mariah Carries in the studio, Jannet Jackson coming down here like Steve lo seven oh two or Leah Ship and I'm just like and she don't even want to deal. She like nine they I don't want to where to deal and fucking Missy is is killing them. And she was like, yeah, I gotta do the show because she hated doing shows. She was Mona Mona was her manager, and she hated doing shows

because she was a studio rat. So She's like, yo, skills, have called me do this show because she knew I can remember all of the words. So Missy hop on stage and The thing was when she looked to me. That was my cue to finish the rhyme because I don't remember this ship like so she she'll Missy be putting it down. I'm not how that's around. I told your mother's yall stop me now, and then I'm listening, and she like, that's what I was there for. I

Missy for a while, just so. But I learned like Missy fucking amazing with that ship, bro she was turned up. Turn up Solu. Yeah, not, Missy was amazing. That's what you gotta get on missing. We've been trying to get missing for never. Then we have a round we have with You're gonna get malice. You gotta do this, gonna be evil gool. You know we're gonna solve this whole Virginia thing. Man Cross Virginia. Thank you, thank you. Broke.

I'm come on, I'm from a magical place. And let's just be clear in my personal career, like Virginia changed my life. You're around, he meant, And let's be clear, I was the hot dude at the time when I met met me and was like, yo, listen, you listen to me. We're gonna go number one. He acts like he was. He's knocked on. He has a little humble now when he was cocky back, I remember like he was like Mone was like, yo, you're not just closing

your album without me on it. And I was like, yes, you know what, I believe this little guy like he had a trump Man tight you know, I'm saying his clothes, he came in the game with type clothes like he was. He was always different. And what's the craziest when you look at it for me, for me to be here, like your life was changed by the nigga from Virginia,

My life was changed by nigga from Queen. You know what I'm saying, let me go look great for the cute said that's so crazy, Like, oh you have like you have a really rich hip hop story. And so I was around, I'm moving around. How did did you come up with the wrapp up? Um? I was, I was in uh, I was in Baltimore and my family's crib and I did a mix tape best of It. I was doing mixtapes because Tim was popping at the time. For I was popped. I did the best of Neptunees mixtape.

Right I'm wrapping over your ship. I'm wrapping over Grind and I'm wrapping over Model lover all the hard ship that I couldn't get. I didn't beat over, I didn't join over Roscope, be cold change ship. And my man says, yo, my man just time. He said, Yo, you should wrap over that comm and come close ship. And I was like, nigga, they don't even know forever that ain't hard, Like like I want the harsh. I want what happened to that boy? Like, no, nigger,

you should do that. And I'm sitting there and I'm watching TV and it was just, uh, it was two thousand or two. It was this thing was talking about the year end whatever whatever. So I go, all right, son, I'll wrap about everything that's about to happen at the end of the year. And if a nigger get to the end of the mixtape, he'll get a little surprised or whatever. And I put the ship at the end. So I put the ship at the end. This was right when the Internet was popping, and my man put

it on his website. He called me the next day he said, Yo, man, I gotta I think I like to get more bandwidth. I was like band with he said, you're like Motherucker's Downtack mixtape. And then radio starts playing this Ship and they're playing to wrap up and I'm like, no, nigga play the grinding free style and your body that ship like like they're not playing none of that. They're playing over the conna come close, and then the ship starts burning that radio and then then it comes back

around to two thousand three. Nikka said, Yo, you're gonna do another wrap up next year. I'm like, what I call that ship the old two freestyle and he's like, no, you gotta do one more like for this ship. That ship was hot, and I'm like, so I did another one and then the ship just started turning into something else. What I'm saying like, that's the one song niggas won't let me not do. You still enjoy doing them move I do, but it's definitely just feels like an obligation.

It definitely feels like you know what I'm saying. It definitely feels like a fucking like niggas want. But but to think about it, um to have something, well, to have something that's your own that people only want from you at this day and age in our career is super fucking we we we. That's like Nika is begging about that ship like Nigga. They still want that ship every Eastern. My fans want me to drop a Nor Easter. Gotta give it. I case, So now I gotta let's

take a shot. Let's take a shot. Let's take a shot, and then we're gonna take a shot. Solo, solo, let's get it. So you you, you do this rap up, You make the wrapper up. Everyone knows the year end we skills are gonna come through. You're gonna wrap up the year, gonna make us laugh. Anybody come out with a couple of people too. You come out of people if you wore purple, Rick liten the wrapper right, and all of a sudden you hear a different wrapper. M hmm,

what happened? Oh the New York Wrapper. Listen, this is the New York wrap York. No, No, this is New York rapper. I don't know what ship ship I know, I do, that's his real name. But oh we're talking about the line ship. So what happened the first year he dropped it? Where you offended the first year? Or how did this? How did this understanding? Like I've been doing this nineteen years. It's yes, it's fucking it's a it's a it's a Malaysian wrap up, it's a Hong

Kong wrap up, it's a UK wrap up. It's Tina fade to the Dirty Rock wrap up. I've written wrap ups for the Wire, SPS, sports, Senda like all this ship. So when the nigga did it, I'm used to the vine was popping YouTube, nigga's doing the ship all over, But most niggas would be like, yo, this is the song, so wrap up shop. My man man skills knew it was bite like, but it was the show love for Lenny because I'm I'm petty for Lenny. It was he did it and it was like fucking ship. So I'm like,

so let me let me give your analyogy. I've been in the game longtimes. What's called the negative time? A person hold on because you know we're in a negative moment of drinks. What does that mean? We're in the negative moment to drinks? Your car, the drim h who you're at? If we all go on drink tests right now with bad skills, Okay, don't don't hurt nobody. We're gonna hit your super wee finished. I got you my brother, all right, my bad con so because I saw what

you said. UM want y'all do it together? What's this? I've been in the game a long time, twenty years. I know a lot of niggas. I started a podcast, hipop Infests ten years ago. Right, let's say, I said, Yo, I called Dr Dre like y'all want you to be on my podcast. He's like, nigga, let's do it. I call I call Andre three thousand, Yo, nigga, I'm gonna get Andre three thousand and fucking Dr Dre on my fucking podcast. We're holding the ship ship crazy. Next week,

I put the ship on YouTube. Ships stupid. It's called Linked Champs, y'all. Nick is cool with that, exactly exactly, like it's parable parable together. It's like that's how Jesus talk. Like, let's keep it as being. I can't call my ship what y'all call y'all ship? This this drink Champs. I can't start Linked Champs next week and fucking I start you. You go on YouTube and you see me sitting at the table with a bunch of licking and I go, Yo, what a dude, what it is that makes something that link.

Chaps got a lot of copies out there, didn't you have a lot of I'm saying you wouldn't expect it from me. You're like, come on, it's not like a beer up right. So what I'm saying is what I'm saying is and what I'm saying is it's it's almost like that's the New York wrap up like it is what it is. I don't I'm petty. It is what it is like. But he was the first nigger to be like, fuck me on my ship. I can't how did that? I can't rap over fucking allowed me to

reintroduce myself. You like, but how did this start? Because of lack of a better turn? For? What we don't know? Was? I like, it was all up at the first and I heard you and Clark Kid. I heard Kid made a call to you or made a call to him, and you guys got on the phone. At one point, me and him never talked on the phone. So Kid called me O G. I'm like, what's up? O G? He like, yo, listen, you know you know you know

Lenny my young right? But I said yeah cool? He said yeah right, So I know he did what he do. He did what he does. He ship funny, you know you're some right rock ship just a the third Like I was thinking, if y'all niggas did this together. I said, Club fund is wrong with you, nigga? He was like, what you mean? I said, club wou would you call Hove and say one savage you want to do twenty two tools but you like it? Don't make sense. I

wouldn't take a picture with that, nigga. So I fucking i'm, i'm, I'm, I'm I'm not working with it, but I'm not saying that. And every year it's fun man skills, man skills, So I gotta disagree with that. I didn't hear nigga then, but I think there was an actual interview where you was like, correct me if I'm wrong where Murder was saying he wasn't really claiming it, and then you did an interview and he was like, yeah, I didn't really like it somewhat to what you're saying then, and then

that's what he said. He say, I said, I said in one song maybe seventeen, I said a lot into his doing wrap ups. She ain't she ain't helping y'all niggas whatever he felt like. I took a shot right this ten, I get a call, I get a job at a university, nig I'm teaching at the college. Spot. Keep me a lot of jobs and then we'll get me a teach you know college, right, I have a class. I'm a professor. At this point, I'm like, I'm gonna

do the wrap up this year. I'm gonna knock it down and said, y'all ain't gonna say nothing about Lenny unless he says something about me. Soon come out, you lisam. Wrap up the nigga man Skills ship Yo, blah blah, starts Rapper. So I go, I'm gonna check this nigga right now, totally. I fucking I put up the ship and I'm gonna tell you what happened. I'm writing the wrapper. I'm in the studio writing the wrapper. Got my notes

right in the wrapper. I get a d M from Linny Grant that says, I ain't mean to take your ship, but you the PG version. I'm raided on nigga plus you whack anyway. I said, I'm going to lyrically kick this nigga in the pussy. Yes, let me tell you let me tell how can we see the nigga said, Yo, I ain't even take your ship. You the PG version, I'm the art version plus you fell off anyway, my g I said, I'm gonna check this nigga. Naw I take. I take the d M and make the d I

put out a song called murder Gram. Demolished this nigga, demolished them over murder Gram. Boom boom boom had that ship fucking uh. I put the song out and everybody go to the beef because the wrap ups is done. Nigger just don't care about the brown. They're like, oh shit, fucking mad skins and this nigga going there and they've been they've been tossing it back and forth for years,

this nigga. I bodied this nigga over murder Gram and made the d M the cover art for the single because I didn't want niggas about why are you this in the naw are you posted this? It's just called It's just called it's called murder Gram. I started the ship. I told the whole story. Um U. I said, motherfucker's want to kill me, but they got the heart. Um So I'm gonna I'm gonna pick the mic back up for this walk in the park. And I don't want

credit for this. This ain't nothing. I'm just answering the nigga that kept pressing my buttons. Uncle murder, what's all the fuss about? And they can keep my fucking name. Mit your brown ass mouth, Clark kid, your man about the hole? This ell so roase some weed. I got a story to tell, and I tell the whole ship. Clark hit me, say yo, y'all should link up. This is then the third body. Then I'm waiting you know how? You know how? This wraps nigga took like two weeks

and it wasn't a worthy response. And that's when I realized, I'm not beefing with a neiggative kid about rap. I'm beefing with a neiggative kid. By the attention were differently. I'm different. I'm from a different class. So for me, I'm like, I saw you had him here, probably was a slow day. I'm patty. He's definitely not no, no respectful.

I'm respectfully patty. You're going in respectfully. But I got love for like I got love for him, but because and I jumped out the window to do some this ship and I was like, he don't want to do that. He just he just wants people to pay attention to what he thought. And I get it that ship works sometimes ship work for fifty and oh too one like,

so I did it. It was what it was. But Nigga, I'm like, I'm teaching the class so on World Star at the same time at the faculty meeting, like this ship with and I'm trying to push the ships to the left. I'm trying to put the ships to the left. And they were like, yo, um you know, uh, I know you this song came out. I never forget somebody know to put the professor I work and he was like. The dean was like, to my that fucking that that

that hip hop that dis track. Nigga, I'm at the crib right when my daughter, my daughter works at the day kids, she's like twenty five years old. She comes into the house. She's like, hey, I said, Hey, what's up. She said, um, so one of my students parents came in and apparently you made a this song. I was like, I said, I ain't know this song. She was like, you know, they come in and they go, yo, your dad fucking body that was going up. Man. My daughter goes, no, no, no, no, no,

that's the wrap up. He does it every year, he said. Nigga said, no, no, no, as as he's putting his coat on his chi No, no, no, I know about the rapperp She like, you got a dish record, Nigga. So I'm sitting there, I said, I said, yo, Nigga kept saying my name like Charris. She's like, let me hear. I like, no, no, no, She's like, dad, let me hear. So I'm like, fun, I have to play my daughter. I hit the button that ship more murder gram boom boom, hardass beat, and she listened to it, and I'm just

sitting there like and I'm sucking going. I'm like, Lenny Grant, the nigga your name signed to should be on the side of a funeral home. They get like, Nigga, you signed the g unit ten years too late. I'm going to hands and my daughter's listening to it, and I'm just sitting there like fucking embarrassed. And she stops and she she goes, so, don't you have a class tomorrow? I said yeah. She said, Dad, what are you doing?

I said, you know, what you gotta understand, Like it's not the second like niggas don't never disrespect facing back and forth like so when she said it, I'm sitting there and I'm like, damn, like I'm playing a this song for my daughter at late forties and ships weird, you know what I'm saying, Like, but but the whole, you know, the whole, I d like de bo like nigga. I'm from Virginia. They didn't ain't nobody never took nothing from me but l that period. So it's the New

York wrap up. Well, this is shot to y'all working it out. I hope y'all working out. Let me see my child, and I'm warning for myself. Listen, man, you know we might work it out if y'all let me do link Champs, let's work out. Is that something that's a problem in hip hop? It's just like, like you know, I see I see the homie walk in my homie Snoop home me and I was such a fan of Snoop, right, but I never wanted to do nothing Snoop did because

I felt like that was himp. That's something that's a problem in hip hop is that people actually see something they like and they imitate. It's a problem now because the gate keepers don't call it what it is. Like, you didn't take nothing, nigger, you bid it. Let's keep it a being. You ain't. I'm from Virginia and they ain't. Nobody never took nothing from me. You bid it. Like I can't fucking I can't. I'm out tomorrow and make an album called the World Report exactly like I can't.

I can't go to Virginia and get some niggas and say, Yo, we're gonna start a new clip. They're like, what's the same. I'm like your niggas called dip set, like nigga nah, nigga. Like at some point somebody gotta said, I said, it ain't cool my nigga like and he nigga like he Lennly olden. I'm petty Linly old enough to know he like the old enough to know that I respect the ference my younger. But but he's actually playing into the game.

I'm just being a definitely advocate keeping actually pay playing into the game. And the game is Brooklyn has always been on for Brooklyn keeps on taking Yeah, well, Brooklyn ain't taking ship from a nigga like me, I'm like, it's not. I'm just saying you can't. You can't just take something from me, like it's gonna come with something.

When I checked them for I was expecting a response, and then when I didn't get a worthy response, I was like, damn, like I'm not even going at it with a nigga that's respectable, Like it's not fad, but they ain't kiss It's not you know what I'm saying, Like, you know what I mean, I ain't twenty Brooklyn niggas in the song that I would rather battle than him, Like it was crazy. I was talking cash, I was wild. I was definitely wild. Do you regret that? Absolutely not?

Why what? It's all in the game. You know what I'm saying. This hip hop is what we do. It was fun this fall with the nigga for a minute or something, and then when I realized he really wants fall. He just wanted the attention. I was like, we're different. I'm not I'm not chasing attention. But is there a world world where all these wrap ups do exist, where everyone his cordil or so he said, where they're paying him homage, where they're paying respect for where it came from.

That's where he Before two thousand and two, nobody was making a yearly recap of what happened to Coach Hippop, I invented that ship. And I'm not tripping like like I said, I'm not tripping. YouTube niggas doing all day half the castle wild and out made wrap ups. But they was always like trying to nigga mad skills like Andy kept it moving like we gotta call a biter bitter. But I gotta, I gotta, I gotta just be the devil's advocate. You know how many people for theself slide

and they don't give me no respect. You know how many people there's actually games so slide and you know how slim Gotta have been in Let me just tell you how sl I'm gonta have been the My boy, they're easy. Said, I'm gonna go to the store to get a pepper Die sandwich. Do you want anything? And pepper Die sound like pepper Broni to me, so I said no. The homie came back in the studio with a turkey and cheese. I said, that's not pepper Wroni.

He said, I said, pepper Die not pepper BRONI and I said, look, give me half and he said he was a slime mask. Nigga, just you a sandwich. And I took this ship and from that day on be calling each other slide. Simple is that this game is called slie. Yeah, they don't salute me. There's young thug. This thing's got his whole career. He has never said big up normal? Now what now? Mind you? This is This goes back. I got a good point, y'all. That was a good point, right. This goes back to what

I said earlier. Niggas don't care about who first, but we do. You know what I'm saying. We the tight niggas like Yo, like Yo, who got you in the hip hop? I'm gonna tell you first niggas I listened to that got me starting the ship. I'm not gonna disrespect him. I'm not gonna say nothing crazy about him. Like we gotta call a spade to spade at some point because otherwise niggas just started acting blues like. It's not trolling, my nigga. Let's call it what it is.

You're lying for attention. If I knew something dumb for attention, that's called lying for attention. It's not called trolling, my nigga, but we fucking and better let me represent for the new generation to the new generation. Just didn't know where that came from, right, he knew, he knew I'm patty, but he ain't new like I can see. I got told you. If there's somebody twenty one like yo, I see niggas like yo, I'm the new nigga. You know what I'm saying. We called we broccoli. I'm like, nigga,

that's nigga? What you thought? That's the moment they find out then you know, you pick it up appropertly efore to say, hey, look, little niggas, I had to show you up. He got a lot of nigga like one of the most illest, one of the nicest guys I've ever met, but we gotta call us Spain is Paine at some point one of the nicest guy we see. If the water isn't around, I'm so wait a minute, So we're gonna, we're gonna, we're gonna get No, you

don't want to work it out. You're saying you don't want to work it out, not on a wrapp up? How about this? Is this is a crazy thing, right, dude, we passed away, right, do pass away off for my hood? So do for my hood to come home with jail? Says hey man, I want to dish you on the record. And I said, for what he said, because I think that's the way I can get on corny corny like

we got called rufy. But so I told him, I said, because I knew he was just coming home from jails, just wrapping thinking, thinking's death broke all They all right, listen, I said, let's do it together on the stage. I want you to dis like that. I don't say it like that. It's different. I don't want you just me in my face and I wanna diss you with your face.

But I'm also show you I'm a rapper, right, and I've never happened, right do you think that like it's something like that that can be happen where you guys, it's like a face off on the same track for the same in the same studio. Get body, man, get body. He's not here like he ain't a rapper like that. It's more like he like a comedian, you know what I'm saying. Like that's how I look at him. I think I think I think I'm a murders though. I

think of the murders though. That's cool, that's cool, that's your man is. I get it like I get it. I don't think you're dope. It's not no, no, not at all. But I'm just saying for me, it's like, it just don't feel like hip hop to me. You know what I'm saying, Like to me, it does for like you just want to see some drama. Yeah, I don't even he want to sing to see how you like. Ultimately, because that's how I said, I think y'all should do the track together. I do it. I do feel like

I think got like you were saying. First, Yeah, you're saying I think you should you to track together, like me saying I think I should be when every drink chance like maybe when he hears how you're saying it here, maybe it maybe and different. I wish the brother no ill will man like we did what we did like that. I thought something. It was fun. I thought, I know you called him like yo keep it going like yeah I did. I did the first time I did. I

did say that I did. That's why I felt felt guilty because the first time I heard it, I was like, all right, cool, I can't think it was no valance towards you for the first one. I don't have that kind of time, bro, I don't have fifteen minutes and listen to a nigger rap. Maybe you do, yeah, a little bit. I'm pending just fact liked, Yeah, I think you might be. You know, I'm only that way when you poke me, like you gotta stand for three years, I'm going to the barbershop, my bar but like yo,

like nigga, what's up with your man? Noo? And I'm like, yeah, no, I'm chilling, you know what I'm saying that like nine nigga. Like if you would have told me in nineties six ninety seven, when I was going back and forth to New York trying to get on that a nigga from the Borough would take something from a nigga from Virginia to be relevant, I would have been like, nigga, what like nigga, y'all are the necka to us? We always felt like we had to prove our way, you know

what I'm saying. I remember going to fucking to the to the sheet loops Farrell Mont's video right and Farrell Case slaves outside in the drama. I was the biggest ship in the world, and I'm like, yo, I'll walk up to case saying, I'm like, yo, man, you know I think it's graph pepoo some other niggas. I said, Yo, man, how I get on the drama our nigga said, I mean, ship man, you gotta be nice. Nigga, ain't look at like you gotta be nice. I'm like, Day's trying to

sound nice to say you gotta be nice. So I go to Rockers like Nigga, I gotta get on the fucking drum out. I don't know how y'all making happens the street nigga, Howe mcduffin. He's like, no, Nigga, I make it happen. Yet, how we mcduffer you? So? How we for niggles it to with me Most and Feral and this new nigga that they gotta go up to the drama hole. And this was when Rockers was kind of nig was like the Ruggers might be the next fucking death jam. It's just kind of bubbling, you know

what I'm saying. We go to the drama hole. I never forgot wrapped over in the club. I wrap over in the club body the ship and the Niggy case. Slay goes Yo. He's talking to Nigga Malacott and Nigga used to the boy where he's like your Malco like real talk that that might be the hottest freestyle Nigga ever said up it, And I'm just like yes, nigger like, I'm not no fucking coming, boy, I'm getting fucking busy. Like so we always had to go to New York

to prove ourselves. You know what's the conversation I'm about to get into, which one? No, I don't are you one of the South guys? Come on, come on, like New York don't show love to the South. And I want you to be because we talked about this a lot, because I talked about the Miami perspective to visit right when y'all focused, and I'm putting y'all in the category of the South, like another shot, Virginia get another shot.

So here's what I get a fit because me personally, I don't have the experience that a lot of the stop people Like I said I was going to Virginia. I was we need hen like this. What I'm trying to say to you. So, in my opinion, me and this guy because he he loves my goddamnit, this someone. But what I'm saying is I feel like a lot to the South guys are wrong for paying attention to what was not shown to you guys as opposed to

what the love was. You know what, I don't even meaning meeting A lot of times you guys sit around and you say, you know what, New York can't give love. This guy can't get love. But how about the holes? How about the Northeast? How about the people who was embracing the South? Who was going back? But I tell the fact hold holder. But I said this a bunch of times on drink. I said it was the industry

was the biggest problem, working to the industry. You know, y'all kept it to yourself, not you, maybe not fact, not the individual artist. That's what I needed to hear it. Yeah, that's y'all understand y'all are the mecca. So nigger. I remember going to the new music seminars of rock Steady in the Park just trying to get respect from y'all because New York was the mecca. So with fucking stretching Barbado told me I was dope and guy was dope with mother fucking Q Tip told me I was dope.

I was dope, you know what I'm saying. Like, so it's like when the ships which what about the ship switch. It was like we all we gave so much love to y'all. A lot of us felt like fucking like fucking out cares on the sauce stage like damn like swoop like dah, y'all love us. We all understood that, Like you know what I'm saying, We all felt we did that, but understand what I mean. It was all the same thing different but speaking person, we felt like that. Yeah, man,

we felt and it wasn't personal. You're thinking as individual artists or the artists, it's not personal. Come to Miami, so like two thousands moved like you've been coming out. You're doing a lot of work. South really shouldn't have that complaint because she everybody can't speak for us, bro, everybody from the East coast. Grandmother had a tie to the South. Yes, yeah, okay, I understand. So this is

what I'm trying to tell. Even from the West Coast sects, we all kind of came from the South, slave weeks to the South and then So that's what I'm saying. I feel like y'all always judged that off for young people, young people who didn't travel as much, like, this is no way I can go to Atlanta like I went to once twilve. What was that ship Atlanta in Atlanta, New York? If you would go to the strip club in New York, you are waiting stuff. And I was out there and they had like it three things you

don't do in the strip club. You don't tip, you don't eat, and you don't ship. The first week in Miami, I broke all three of those rules. The first thing I like the same time, shout the reason out and tip every bitch in there. It was crazy. It was great. Like But that's what I've noticed see in New York. It wasn't recalling youabamas. We were saying that, you know, it was a different people. It was a different cousins because I gonna remember y'all, our cousins were all family, man,

do you understand I'm saying. And when we got to the West coast, it was a little different too. But the South, honestly is all of our grandmothers have all. I think you're talking about different things. Man. You know what I'm saying is, here's what I'm trying to say. What I'm trying to say is people felt like East Coast wasn't giving it up to the South. It was always called n't want to get to nobody and the industry lived in New York. The radio show City Ship.

You shouldn't see it. You wouldn't see it. Let me ask you a question. Remember I remember watching a podcast and you was like, yo, when I went to l A, I was, I was, I was looking around, I was, I was making sure she was good. Why was you doing that? Exactly exactly? So for us, like of course it's slow. Everything slow. We're not slow as Texas but not just chopped the screw music. But you come down South, ship gets slower. But for us, it was like we

always showed your love, like y'all came down. They went to schools, went to the HBCUs. You know what I'm saying, Like we got we got out. Was that hole? Was there? They getting money? Like I know that you're saying so, And it's like we adopted some of the ship. He adopted some of this ship from y'all. So it's like when when Tim's got popping, we threw on the tails when the bubble goose is like everything was about y'all.

So it was like when it became about somebody else to see certain artists like now we're not that ship Cony, We're not working with them type niggas like damn like Nigga. We were just we're doing what hip hop fays. We're rapping about what we know from where we are, you know what I'm saying. Like everybody ain't gonna be that, you know what I'm saying. So I think when when people like Tim and Pharrell got into the studio to make music, they knew what they couldn't make. We couldn't

make no premier type sound bad hip hop. Y'all already did that. We couldn't make Baltimore Club. Baltimore Club was already popping, couldn't make Jersey House, she was already done, couldn't do Go Go, so she was already can't do can't do the screw the shop ship, can't do the

chronic ship. So it's like, damn, nigga, I'm gonna sample this baby, you know what I'm say I'm gonna sample this last noise if it tim That was the illest because I've never seen a nigga sit down and beat box a fucking beat and then touch the fucking something and make it so the nigga would sit down and go, y'all wanted you to go, and the nigga will find the sound that went. And I'm sitting there like yo, this niggas fucking crag. He beat boxes all the ship.

I work with timpular Please don't get your story. I work with timpularly. At one time he was like this nor just how I want your wife to God like Mario brothers. I looked at this nigg I said he gotta be hot, like that's how he did it. And then you see, I took two longer. I had a rock. I was like, oh, ship, nigga liga around and fucking and till you gotta listen to them too, because they'll have you. They'll change your whole life. And niggas wasn't listening.

You know what I'm saying, Like now, I ain't doing that corny same way before him. Give you some babe. She's like, I'm not walking around these fake casts for once, bake over your check. I don't know what's probably be Like I was, y'all guinea pick for two years. I was walking around. It's like, you ain't you getting money? You having a force once? You don't remember because they look just like people were laughing at me. I'm sorry those those two dudes man changed to face the music man.

And it ain't too many people that could say that they did that. And for me, like to be from where we from, it's truly something in the water. Like it's not it's not just something to say, it's a special and unique they maybe they create their own unique sounds. Yeah, Like I feel like Farrell was the closest thing. Him and Chad were the closest thing we ever had to

happen to sound. You know what I'm saying. But that the person time came back around what was the name of his group naging him and he wouldn't know it was just him. He was a raptor's name was nagging the verb lord worked out for him. But that sounds like here's the thing. Next time I see him, Hawaiian shirt read in the Excess and he's telling the DJ played my record and they're like, yeah, like like my magnum Yo he's talking about or super Thugger is fucking

tending the clubs down. He's telling the DJ like, Yo, that's my record, and DJ like, yeah, yeah, that's my that's my reckord like started, and then the video comes out and niggas just like, Yo, that's his record, red in excess fucking and I'm like, Yo, the nigga really doing that. I though it sounds so cliche that said right now, But for the moment I met that motherfucker, I knew he was was from earth. Fact, he was.

He was different, bro, he was It was so easy to say that now, like but I wish I was lying, but I'm just not. Just looked at him. I wish we had the Purple rain for this right now. That's my that's my man man, that's my brother. Yeah man um. And it's like it feels like in Virginia you all have to be tied to each other. It's there artists that you're not tied to in Virginia. No, they can't be right. Who's this new artist you guy? I think we're signed to push your teeth? Oh card I think

his name is Carden. He signed on pushing teas Labor. Yeah, the Petersburg Young Boy Virginia. Yeah, yeah, yeah, not he's from with trade songs from Oh. I was saying, you gotta think Virginia's Angela, the girls from Chris de Angelo me trade songs, Chris Brown for Reno Chris Brown. Chris Brown is from Tappahanned Virginia, fucking clips, push you Analyst, Missy Macgoo. Like, bro, what was the crew were into? Wasn't super free but friends Lonnie b Day so he

was a dope rapping back. Yeah, he battled up Jojoe Pellegrino on the boat the Dirty White Boy. Yeah, man, no, man like um so yeah, No, Virginia is a special place, bro, something really in the ward. It's listen, it's not just something we say. It's not just Molly, It's not just probably not Molly. How did you break It's not He's like, it's not mon Yeah, man, God damn holy bo. Yeah, you know I got does man, you know, let's get to those man, you know, you know the easy help

people do for what album? Because the first was the album? Yeah, the whole first album, the first I'm a zyl because he did a song for the artifacts, and that was I didn't know that he did down to My Soul rebix the fact the first niggas ever let me on a song, Yeah, all the facts. I'll tame one else since then. That was a crazy Actually, I do remember that Dona My Soul, the first album from with Yes I came out on the same day as the Food Jis and All Eyes on Me worst day of in

South I didn't I don't know what. I don't know where. This was a great niggas from Virginia. The album that I didn't take. It didn't happen to me. You didn't get gold. Now I'm not gold, but back there was but little to leave with this leave with the score and all I mean to me, I mean that's a little I mean that's different everyone, dude that All Eyes on Me is that the album after he came Double Yes, that's double out kill him did not pick a good day.

Let's just throw that out there. Okay, okay, you have you had large professor producer on that large professor j period Clark Kent, not psycho Le's um. And I was the first person that ever did this song with j J. Yeah, yeah, because that was guy and that's early. Didn't understand. I'm with you, Tip, I'm making the album and I'm like, niggad you on my album. He's like, yeah, no, son got this nigga you gotta I said, Noah, nigga you

on the album. He comes to Battery Studio Street went a little small dude with a fucking Detroit had on and he's talking about him the same way he talked about me to Pasta, Neuse and Mace. And he's talking to you. He's he's going, your son, this, where's yo. He's so ill and I'm like even, I'm like, yeah, I need to cute Tip beat though He's like, no, no, I got at you. But listen to this nigger. He hits the beat, he put the I still have the tape.

He hit the cassette, put the consette, places the cassette. As soon as I hit the cassette. But no, and and and it's running. I'm like, you play the next one, my dumbass. I'm like, play the next one. Next beat is the far side. Gotta kick something to me something I passed on running. You gotta kick something to me something Drop passed on that. And then he gets to the song that I take and I never forget. I paid him three three bands a song. We did three songs.

I can't find the third one. If I find it, God, God, please let me find that third song. Uh. And I paid me here, I paid nags and I remember he was in the studio and battery mixing, and he was like, um, he said, yo, I never I'll never forget this. And I don't care if I get as big as Dr Dre. You always be able to give me for three bands a song. I don't care how big I get. And we never got a chance to do another because he

passed away. Because he passed and at the home and you thought you were missing out on a qute tip beat, but q tip hopped on the song with large Professor called extra abstract skills, right, my man, I spent more money on large professor songs. When you look at the budget, because I had an ad it I was gonna R and B label and I had to change the faces budget.

My budget like three fifty or something. Ship. When you look at how much you spend a large professor and you need studios fucking this saying large professor will come, you need to get him on the podcast to Lars, professor will come and just listen to records in the studio like my nigga like we this is a twelve hour block our eight and he like putting the record and I'm sitting there looking at my A n R reeflight like what we you know what we do? That's my and we And you know, I spent so much

money with large professors just listening to the songs. But the knowledge that she just based on what he's said waiting long. And Clark Kid was on the album because because because he did it them a so of course I gotta bring my old chea and make sure he could taken care of because he helped me. Even though I was talking about hold in his house, Um he was. He was on the album. Yeah, the album was on the album when it came out, even even on the same day that not you know, not the Fuji's and

fucking Tupac came out. It was in Virginia. It was a big thing because he never saw its classic first albums from where right, that's what you all eyes on me and food. But it was probus called I Ain't Mad No More right, That's when I changed it from Mad skills and skills, and that's what that was. Rockers fucked that whole ship up. I think I ended up puttinession the singles came on. The singles came because folded, because did Aft stake with m c A and the

whole ship. I think that was when quality came out and sound Brian and Jared. But they was trying to get fucking Coogi Wrap to do songs with Nellie and ship like they was David wilder Um. But they started out. They started out with the writer attention because I believe Raucus was probably the last label with As soon as they got the record, he was like, I'm funking with this. Soon as I started the razor the all I'm gonna

give this a shot because it's Ruckers. They were thinking about the box and some some of the things weren't and some of the things then now they was killing it for a minute. So what happened? We killed Racers. I mean he's m c A. Em c A got in for half and the ship went left after Like I said, they was trying to get Coogi Rap to do songs and Nellie not knowing what they have. You

got most you got quality. You got Ferrell months like, and these niggers are doing numbers with no radio play, Like I remember what Simon says got on High Night seven, like get the Nigger, like it was done that lawsuit and did them. But they had crazy. That was that was crazy. But Roucus was Rucus was sucking crazy. I remember crazy. Story about rock is real quick. I'm at Conway Studios in l a Machine studio. I'm with my girl at the time, Esther Dean, who was like a

super big pop writer. How you know everybody's name? Star forgetting nobody's name, he like, he describes it so great. So I'm with I'm with Esther and she goes to a session with Dr Luke right at this time, this is fucking Katie Perry and like killing the ship, right. So she's in there cutting of vocals. I'm sitting out on the little patio. Dr Luke comes out and he got a guitark. So we're just sitting there. He's like, oh, man, you know how long you and you and her been dating.

I'm like, you know, that's the amount of time. And I was like, yo, you look wild familiar. He was like, where are you from? I said, I'm from Virginia, said where you from? He was like, I'm from New York. I was like, I said, yo, you ever ever been Raucus Records? And this one Funer's playing can talk and didn't stop. He said, oh Raucous. I was like yeah, he said yeah, No, I used to be at Raucus. He's like, I used to sell Brian and Jared their weed.

And I'm like, what Dr Luke, Katie Perry Katie Perry Cashier. So I'm like, I'm like, yo, I saw you at Raucus. He was like, no, I used to do like what you called it, dubstep remixes. He's like, I would do dumb euro remixes. And they realized that every time that they would, uh, I would do a remix in the UK, the ship would get b d s. They spins will

go up. He was like, so I started doing remixes one that give me that from a cappella and then one day I think this is what he says that one day like one of the rappers left his voice right now, hero, one of the rappers left some weed in my studio and I just fucking started selling them that the weed. And I'm sitting there going Dr Luke was fucking killing the game pop game killing it. Used to sell weed to fucking Brian and Jerry, that Raucus and then the nigga looks at me. He was like,

he's looking at the air like Raucus Records. He's like, do you think that name would like mean something? Now? I was like, what you mean? He's like, you know what? Like the emergence is of like the you know, the j Coles and the Kendricks. I wonder if I just bought the name. And I'm sitting there going, you said, let's be partner, Like this is crazy, like super ill when like bro as far as songwriter as he's he's right behind Max Martin, which is probably the top top tier.

Let you know how much I know, I don't know. You don't know Maxin. Look it up, Dr Luke. Max Martin plaining me, come on, please, I don't wanna look it up. Max Martin started out nine before right maybe nice the year he was born right, but he's had a hit on the charts. Britney Spears, Backstreet, Taylor, Taylor Swift are on the ground. Like Dr Lucas his his protege. He took him under. He's fucking Kesha Katie Perry. Nick had a pop run that was like a Songwriter of

the Year a bazillion times over. You know what I'm saying, Like I pay attention to all types of songwriters, you know what I'm saying. So it just as far as writing songs like so, um when I got when I did the Nicky ship, Um, I did the Nicky song. Yeah, so I did the Nicky song. You can't just pop pop record. You can talk ABOUTNICKI. I don't know. First of all, I ain't writing Nicky raps. She write all her wraps. Hook for Nicky called the Night is still young?

Pop record? Pop record comes out and I'm I'm at home looking at this. Was when I think Taylor Swift and Nicky got into a little twitter be for whatever. Remember that the other chick and Taylor Swift jumped in. Then they made up, and then they come out at the MTV Awards and I'm watching Taylor Swift on stage the MTV Awards sing my words and I'm like, no, nigga like niggas, niggas like us can get there. You know what I'm saying, Like pop music is is pop music.

But it's still all music. It's only two kinds of music. Look, get up when you see Taylor Swift when it happened for you. If you see Taylor Swift singing what you wrote and your singing mother, now, man like to watch that happen as a songwriter. You know what I'm saying, Like I write all conds of songs, bro Like, I just do what I do. Fucking uh. Black men don't cheat. You know what I'm saying. For for Duval dude, that what I'm saying. I could see that, I could see

that I was pissed when I wrote that. What happened? Oh, I don't know if you shot, Let's get another shot. You remember the video? I don't know if you remember. It was a world star shop was it was this girl at McDonald's, black girl, drunk, white dude comes into McDonald's, starts talking crazy tour and he said some tour, and the black girls just start beating his ass at McDonald's across the camp and then there's two dudes in the back, like two black dudes, young dudes just looking like yo,

like damn, he should beating the funk out. And it was just an onslaught of light Black women like see, this is this is why we don't funk with y'all. Y'all don't protect us. Why the fund is this girl at McDonald's fighting this man and y'all niggas watching, You're

not helping. And I'm sitting there going, no, she was whipping this nigga ass at one point this ship, she and you know how you be at work and you gotta everybody got that person that worked there, like, yo, don't don't funk with Kim Kimball beat yours with Kim. So they watching her beat his ass and black women just went crazy online. Was all on the blogs and ship and I'm just sitting there watching and she's like, why it's always our fault? Like Dad, what what we do?

So in that moment, I was like, yeo, I want to piss off every black woman in America. And I wrote black Men Don't Cheat that day, and I was about to do the video and I'm sending the video to to Apion Nick Cannon, and I just want nigga to sing the hook black men don't Cheat because I'm like, when black women see this ship, they're gonna be mad as fun. So I sent this ship to Charlemagne. Charlemagne calls me like, Yo, you know who need this record? I said who? He said, a little du vo. This

is right after um living my best life. He said, Yo, you said it a little duvo. But I believe this record. So you're telling me I'm a black cousin because I thought it was real. Oh listen, I don't cheat. I'm a black man, black boys right right now. Here's the thing. Duvall was being funny. Charlemagne was like, no, nigga, that's about to be the new way I want this ship to be. I want this you to be a nigga who don't cheat on his girl, will be able to work out to the ship and say no, nigga black.

I want to us to be a movement. So I'm like, y'all, go ahead, gave him the record. You know what I'm saying? And I figured it was it was it was. It worked because it was like it was one nigger that was controversial and then one nigger that was funny. Somethings are gonna take it as a joke, but Charlottage took

a super serious. So I was two days away from putting out Black men thought she has bad skills, and Charlotte Mage was like, yea, you shoul to get this in the Duke baigges Man, Charlotte Mane and that you know, that's how skills a real drinker. He's taking a shot. What a shot? What a regular drink? And I'm thinking the p and I actually this already. I'm not sure if I did. But what is your favorite part of

the game? Music? Just just but the music. That's still a two part answer, because is it making the music or performing the music? I don't really like I like DJ. Now I'm a DJ. I've been DJM for five years and the passion that I lost for rapping I gained in DJ. So for me, it's all it's just music is the hub of all of this ship. I started out making music, then I ended up writing music for other people. Um, now I'm playing music. You know what I'm saying. No, No, not just DJ like I DJ heavy,

like DJ heavy man. I love I love DJ and and the the respect that I have for that craft because because when I'm from it's like like being from Virginia, we always felt like we had to use underdogs. So when I started DJ and I was like, I don't want to be a rapper. Niggas like, oh yeah, he's just up there sucking around, Like that's not scals. You know what I'm saying. If he funked up like real DC Live Nigga lived. I wanted to be the best.

I wanted to be good. So when niggas think about rappers that used to DJ, I wanted him to think about me. D nice biss mark you know what I'm saying, was like, pray yourself a biss, keep pushing through. Um. You know what I'm saying. I wanted to be one of those rappers that people take serious as a DJ.

So I got in the room and started sucking, practicing hard body on my own mixing, mixing, because what you gotta understand is that when I get a gig, like I did a gig Lass Night, so it's like, when I get a gig, I'm gonna get niggas and just booked me on the name. It's like, that's that's the whole mean, let's get him a back real quicker. He don't. Let's bring it through, but I want to kill it. I want to tell that on some kick appre ship,

on some motherfucking s And that's what I'm saying. I wanted a part of J Kick Apri hands down, Kick Apre. I would say, Kick Apre is definitely my first party right now, A party I would love to go to. D J Camillo, Yes, I can't live You're not community, Yeah yeah, it'd be Koreans in there, Like how you Koreans calling something international? Yeah? Yeah, because I feel like I feel like as a DJ, I don't know nobody

that likes just one type of music. Like if I ask you to name me your favorite songs, you might name me some some reggae ships, some that ship and saying nobody likes just one genre of music. So I don't think you should ever just play one genre music. You know what I'm saying. I'm the type person like if I'm if I'm DJing for for black people, I know what before I Let Go does to black people, right right? I know what that means to black people? Oh what's that ship? Bobs and Claire? What's the song

play was talking about? Like? I want to know, right, don't know? I want to take you know, as a DJ, As a DJ, I want to know for every for every person that could be at a party. What is what is the music for them? People coming up to you request Yeah, but I don't usually take them. I'm like, if you were, you never don't want to. Yeah. Cool, But the one thing is, I never want people to come to a party. But oh, he's just gonna play some nineties hip hop. I'm gonna get some nas, some

play all that ship. I play everything because the DJ a real DJ. It ain't about me, It's about y'all for New Home. Oh, man, listen, I'm playing twenty one Savage. I'm playing a legend. Yeah, yeah, I'm playing. I'm playing. I'm playing. You know is going and five year old? You go? If I'm in New York, which ain't been yet, you've been shaking some New York shots. Later, man, you're like, you know I'm saying I love you, love y'all man,

you can still listen. Listen, listen, I pull up. I love y'all man, Like, listen, what's y'all I've done for the culture? Can never be a race. But who's who's the newest guy? You gotta set? I needed I need to need to know this in my set. Yeah, like the newest lab A couple I'll probably play like I said, Savage, you're gonna you're gonna hear thug. How about CJ whoop d you're not playing whoop? You definitely got a problem New York playing Roddy Rebel. Okay, I'm saying when I'm

playing that you've got two drinks. Ship. I was ready for two. Yeah. Man, I'm not doing too but I don't feel it up a little more. But you gotta play a little c J whoop. Okay, for the rest, it ain't fun. It's not it's for us. It's not false. Yes it's by us, but it's not for food boom back, it's mo foo. And we said we said your favorite every we said your favorite part of the game. Yes, Salo, Salo, Salo, So nobody said every cull I got through the side.

That was not enough for me. I'm gonna be an honest. I'm going right back here. You got big as ice cubes happened. Man, that's a nice cube. Nice cube to go for a pause? Join will join you for a second. Damn you got motherfucker mad skills. Joes. You want to come in here? You want to come in ship? What's up? Jones? And I will say, like, big shout to you, because anytime somebody that was hit that was hit from VA, the first thing you would always say was not the

first thing I ever heard of. I was playing your records out here, I was on the X Tams everything. Yeah, I got dropped from you. How can I be down? Like thank you? And I mean when you said it to me, like you was like no, like drops to me? The old ship was like, now is that preussure? Give stram much goddamn c so anyone take four shots to catch up? You can take the mask off right now?

Looking a little crazy right now, I appreciate that you're not, But like it is that I'm certain about the pressure because or is it like all right, let me civilize the question. JA Prince, j Prince here? Okay, So to a certain stand, everybody from Houston, Texas feels like they have to have a Jake Prince stamp a Jay Prince? Is it like that? Not for me? Like I don't you know, I'm not the person where they feel like

they have to get through me. I want everybody to win because, like I said, we come from a place where nobody ever got off. You know what I'm saying, so um, I would love to see the young you know, like like like the kid pushing god Car. You know what I'm saying, Like I would love to see new artists coming up from the city, you know what I'm saying, like from the state, because I, like I said, I

realized that it ain't about me no more. Like how opened the door so you could get the Farrells, the Misses, Eclipses. You know what I'm saying, The Magoo's open that door, so it's only right that the door stay open. Like you know what I'm saying. I don't want to be Yeah, I don't want I don't open the door to close

the motherfucker. I mean like I want this ship. I want everybody to win because because you gotta understand, we we birth probably two of the biggest producers in the fucking game period, not just in Virginia hip hop like Nigga hands down, these niggas big niggas is producers. They are song craftsmanships. They know exactly what they're doing. I've seen it at a at a at a at an early level. I remember being in the studio in Master

Sound when Niggas was working on Buster. What it is right now in one room and was working on Grahamey and the next just back. I was there so active, so aptly. I was there. So you hear you here to buck and then Prime like now I'm like, is on fire. You know what I'm saying. Wagons and ship in the last you know what I'm saying. Working, It was working. So it wasn't this ship didn't come to Farrell and Chad and Tim easy man like they was working. We was all working. Goddamn make looks for that at

that building away with that. You ain't take your shottle. Motherfucking mass kills man makes a motherfucking noise. I ain't drinking either. I'm it's cool now we're not drinkings either. We just we just do it camera. So, um, who's your favorite producer? If you have one track, listen to one trap. This is one track. God comes to you and says, listen, You're gonna live forever, m but you gotta make me one wrapperpe gonna make me one wrapper,

one producer for the rest of your life. You live eternally. But it's one producer you gotta lock it with. Is it a producer you never worked with? Or is the producer you're comfortable with? And who is that producers? Great question. I can't lie. I express myself. That's that's that's for l As for Royal Williams all day, I've never seen nobody make music the way that he does, with the passion that he does, you know what I'm saying, And to to be you know, to be an inspiration to

all of us. You know what I'm saying, Like that nigga is he seriously loves music, you know what I'm saying. And that's where I can relate to him because it's like I love I love rapping, I love DJ and I love writing so all some motherfucker's. I love fucking helping niggas put the snare wherever. But it also it all revolves around music. So to be around somebody loves music just as much, that's the whole point of the game, you know what I'm saying, Like want, I want to

take the time about the big up. Our engineer has it the sounds because every time has this sounds, well, I do a record with them, give me two or three different versions of a record. I love it. I tell him, it reminds me of what reality should do. Yeah, every records I ever have it for besides Super Thug was the third version of that actual record. Like he'll try a whole new beat hold and be like and I like before I hate that ship. He'd be like a cool bo and he'll just keep keep shooting shots.

It's like it's like you don't go to the gym just to shoot one free throwne. Maybe you're gonna keep shooting shots, you know what I'm saying. So at that point, something's gonna fall and hopefully you'll shoot so many that when this game time, you'll make that motherfuck makes mother actually saying in question. But yours is different because your

money gonna slow up. Because once you don't name a rapper that they love you, you got one record to produce, Lifetime Guards says you're gonna live for got one one artist one orders to work with to make a turn. So I'm just throwing it out there. Is he a live Yeah? Some day? All right? Uh? I go with with my goat is NASO. I would do with nas that have me worked with nas in the studio before, you might not I didn't beat, I didn't be, but

ive never been in the studio with him. So he rung on one of your beats on the Jade album he did, He's on that joint. So God comes to you, says you liberturnal or even go to shake Tar, maybe jay Z. But you just just yeah, yeah, answer which one? You don't go one of them too? But we need to pick one. I said nas for us. That's that's that's who I was wronging with growing up, the more

than Jay. You know what I'm saying. So that's like some golding go Look, okay, as a producer T G E. F year, you get those teams from I don't know, you know you want to do with DJ College DJ Clue album. You got one producer and one artist to pick. God says, if you make it work, you live eternally. If you don't make it work, you're gonna work with the Shape. Well. I already had a chance to work with Premiere on my album. My last album is The beat Maker. Are you picking with me again? I will

go again. I like what you're going so far, and I'll go with Cube Man because she was my favorite artist growing up up to what my favorite might not five me? Look it. I don't think i've ever heard it, so I had them together. He definitely in my top five. Yeah, but I want this, that's that's that's that's the Cube by one On. That was Pete Rock, That was pro that Rock did so which which was the Premo? Joe A Primo did the joint where they sucking sample me

the game. I never come Lane tight killing in the game. Primo did that, did Cratches. I'm bumkingna be honest with you. I think you need to come up with your aunt Thorus. Thus the Thoris steps up. You're making me because you know I'm sitting back like you're like Google. He's a professor for God says he meets with deeds and they for him boys free style? How do you know? Maybe like why are you on World Star World Store? Like

why are you beating with a rapo? World Stop? And then want to answer the question the school play you ask the question. Don't want to ask him if he'd been a studio when when Missy was making the beat, because she makes me Missy don't had nobody in the studio when she recalled her voice. I've seen Missy, Missy, dude, you know she she maybe not sitting down playing, but as far I've never seen, but she'll definitely sit down

and tell you I ready to go. Uh is that saying to call a puffy that you tell them how you dine? We call that. That's that's knowing what it isn't Quincy. Joe's mainly kind of yeah, yeah, but he can sit down to play too, but call it. Did he do so when you could just say I wanted to go un the same way like Drey is the

same way, not saying he can't play. But the times that I've been around and Dre was definitely like you wrote with Dr Dre, I wrote some ship um it never came out was detox Um, but that was probably, um, probably one of the endest times because I've seen it's like being around Dre. If you ever in the session with Dre, it will be the most important session in

your life, you know what I'm saying. Like, And I came out there and I'm bugging because we with the hollywe with the Hollywood Hills and the fucking Laker games on and it's me, Dre and the man that brought me there and maybe like two other people. And I go in and I'm writing, I'm writing a song and he he talking to his men. He's like, yo, like it's like boring, Like you think we should bring some people around. He's like, I mean, I mean, if you want Dre, He's like, yeah, I think we should get

some people. It's kind of boring game all. And I go back in the room because I don't want niggers to think I'm there just the fucking party. And I'm coming from the right. So I go back in the room and right and I come out and I tell him I said, yo, I got it done, he said, I come in, So he comes in. He listened to it. He said, Yo, I want you to change line eight, line fourteen, and line three. And I'm like, okay, bom and he's like yeah, make it like you're the one,

like make it go uh time. I like say something like to the tod tod and I'm like, okay, cool. So I say it, and then I fu I'm working on these three lines that he wants me to change. And then I come back out to tell him that I redid it, and it's it's a whole fucking part and I'm like, God, damn. Dr Dre just blink his fucking eyes and people show him crazy. Yeah yeah, And it's Grammy weekend, so it's it's sucking buzzle say how

to go down? So it's Grammy weekend and I'll do the joint and we finish, everybody leaves and I'm talking to him and I'm like, yo, man, like like he's like, like you like the record. He was like, yeah, no, I'm I'm a with it. I might cut the reference ship. He says it's dope. And I was like, yo, man, I love the house. Man like, this ship is amazing, man, Like I'm in the house right, so like the no, I'm in the house and I'm like, yo, man, this

is beautiful. Man like this that's amazing. This home you build here, know what I'm saying. Like, and he said, um, I never forget this ship. The nigger said up, yeah, not this the crib. This is this is like the party crib. I said, what you mean? He said, it's like yo, um he said, no, I don't. I don't like stay here like I don't like lay my head hand. I said what you mean? He said no, no, just like the Cribit crib billion dollars ships like the crib.

But you gotta come out, he said, skills. You gotta come out in the sun. I'd be having ship cracking barbecue with the homies. I said, Yo, you don't live in He said, like with my wife and family. I said yeah, he said, oh no, crazy, craziest ship ever. It was the Grammys. I can't remember what year it was, but funk I was like this, nigga, don't even live in this house. Like this is fucking insane. This this

house is don't even live in. It was a chill crib that that's someone that we need on drink champs and shout out to Smitty who was trying to make it happen. He's he's in that camp. He's a writer going to him under the bus. But let's let's make it happen. So I leave the crib and I'm with the home me and we're driving and I'm sucking kind of like the homies kind of faded. So he's like, yo,

can you drive. I'm like, I bet I'm driving. I made the right I come out and these men and black niggers come out of norwhere and with the fucking end pieces of black glasses and I'm like, yo, what the fund is going on? And do like Yo, where are you going? I said, you know, I'm trying to get back down the sunset. He's like, yeah, no, not back up, do a three point turn, go back that way. I'm like, I like, I felt like he was about to pull out on me. So I'm the homie and

he fuked up being the passenger. See. I turned the car around, went the car around. I stopped on in the hill. I said, Yo, what the fund was that? Bro? He said, Yo, my bag, Yo, that's something Leonardo to Cappy over. You can't go up his street. I said, bro, what the fun like? Ship was crazy and being around you have to know you have to answer this now your producer. But that's the thing I read knew that say that. So now you're gonna take a feature on

the track, last feature in your life? Yeah, jack stop it stop it. That's to be artist man. But he could be alive or death. It does matter. Really like Easy like that. I really love Easy. I just love his persona. I just love this, like when I went back and I really studied. You know, his life is crazy. I just love this crazy like I love I think he might be my top one. That's the piece why I actually that question earlier. It's like, why do I expect him so much? When it comes down to like

there's other people like I get. I just think there's different categories that we should be kind of Like I can't put it nigga in front of your nigga who he influenced or did he nigga he was influenced bot. I can't put Hove in front of came because Hove was directly influenced by Cage. And I agree with you to a certain STI because you know the reason why I agree with you a certain steps because one thing

about these young dudes, they're not gonna respect respect. They're gonna respect what they see is it in front of them? Like like the thing about it is like, you know the old dude on the block that got the most knowledge, but it's a drunk. He's actually hitting you with the most vilege in the world, but pissing on the stuffs. But not every block is a drunk. That's not a good analogy. It's not fair to compare to that. They just an example, I know, But the young guys only

seen with in front of them. We have to teach him what's beyond in front of them because that's what's most important, and that's what our role is. Like I can't put it. It is in front of Kane because I know who can influence came influence Jay. He influenced Big Like if there wasn't no Big Dady Cane, that couldn't be Bruce Lineage. He We're like, buddy, whoa what? Just same times he's a whack there not Vericlos and were trying to find an Icos. I'll do another Showyes, I mean that's what. That's the East. That's so oh, I had it. I got it then, great. Never pade my top five. I'm paying pennies. I'm patting

my feet. Spram Joe Nick never be his top five? What about own? What's her name? From from Rockefeller to Garden. But a male was like show his name a meal, learning it's top I get, I get very safe. Now who the busts? Who got the bus? Let's go? Who would never dream of my top five? The thing is, I have people in my mind and it's just like, nah, I don't. I'm not worried about him. Like's not she thought of that because I don't think that. Like I

don't want to throw share anybody. It doesn't deserve it any No. I'm just it's not saying you whack. It's just saying you would never say it does say in your whack, and it is it is. And the thing that people I'm thinking are alleged in my mind, but they lyrically, they don't stand up to the top five. I'm never being Norm's top five. I'm not skills fro from Virginia. That's cool. I ain't sucking a hold na mother fucking easy top five. I know it, yeah easy

my top five. As we can say a million people. But I think the minute you just say it, I just like doing it because niggas always going who he get top five? Like next top top top five, I'll name my top five big el Rock him, ice Cube scar Face might not already say okay and pun I like that. I like that. I like that you said Joyce, I said mine, let's positive, come on positive. Niggas on the shoulder just said fuck me, so I definitely say oh no, no, no no. He didn't say fucking me.

He was taking to the shot. And this is when I'm good, I hope, just when you wanted, because I'm square. Who are you not do with? What's that? Will never be in my top five? And yours? Are you gonna? You probably skip? You? Wait? I said something, I said, you say nothing. I said it was a tap team. You don't know that is team? If see brains will never be in my top I see brains. I mean he won't be my top five. That would never be in my Virginia? Who relevant playing with me? Who was

relevant right now? Oh? A part of the light skin in my field, which I'm not a part of. I'm a part of the dog skin community, fix up, run out of the Bears. I wanted to be with eight caring Joe Button is never going Joe wouldn't never be in my top do listen? I love like that? Who didn't say that doo joice he said, dude, like dude who doo doo smoothie another shooes. I've never heard of that when Joe, but it is a rapid You can't you can't say you know what y'all need is biased?

What's that? Joe? Like? You know I ain't doing this with you? But you know he lokey you music? No, he Loki got mad at me because I put him in the wrap up and ship. What did you say about how to jerks off his goal? I mean that was a little weird, bro, that was weird. I said the girds weird. That was weird. There's no way to getting about how weird that was me. I didn't see it. I just know about the fun I talked about Wait a minute, jerking a little and like you sain't pleasure

his doughs because the dogs, he said, girls. So you don't say he join he joined on the show My lack. I didn't come to Miami to talk about Joe Button jerking on his door and jumped on his door. I got a losing for you. I don't said the reason he said. He said, his dog needs to get him, need to release so and jump he had to help the dog. What you know, I had it. It wasn't a joke. The joke and then he missed. Joe Bladen was some motion in his head Turkey girl happy happy,

this drink cham happy. Like he got mad at me because he was like, yo, to wrap up. They was like, I didn't listen. I don't I'm not, I don't listen to the podcast. I don't know. She's like yo. Joe said he was going to wrap up trash and did it, and I was like, okay, cool, like that's Joe opinion. And I was like, oh, he probably mac as I said. He jerked off his dogs and we're like, yo, like skills beat was trash. He trashed him and he got a it's a white boy whatever, white way, the black

brother whatever. So I was like, I get so. I wasn't I kid it, but you jerked off your dog, boy, would you get mad at it? He talked about then he just seeing about the wrap now he talks about I don't know about to get the rap. He talked to sund like, you don't get mad about it. He talked about talked, I don't even know about if you weren't saying in your podcast. I know if he didn't. He he talked about he got He said that he was like, yo, he needed to release, so if they

would have to do and there's like a lead. I don't know this ridal for something showing him, but I don't know it's real. I don't put it in a new wrap up because it might have been real. But I really told me the same ship, like got Great out of the Brute, were the same age. Somebody somebody pull up and see if that's I think there's a video of it. Yeah, somebody told me the video and he spoke on it. No sex is that serious? Death serious? He says that he kids to do it for his dog,

for the benefit of his dog. That he now. They told me I got a bulldog, and they told me if I want to they told me they said, if I want to breathe my bulldog, I can make a lot of bread. But I gotta I gotta do this dog. He's doing it. They're saying bulldogs they have trouble. You know what I'm saying, uh breathing. So the owner got to help. I was like, it's not that deep, jerk. You can make a lot of money or bulldogs, but you gotta do the dirty word. I said, I'm good

with good that just want to drink your buddy. I'm paid. But this is what I'm saying. Though, If you said it in the wrapper and it's real, why why did he get mad at you? He got pissed because I guess I put his business on front because you must have said it in a way that was disrespectful. But do you think he can rapid? You can jump as weirdough he cool like I've never been a fan, but it is what it is. But here's the thing about

the wrap up. If I put you in the wrap up, it's because it happened, right, I'm gonna put it in there because it happened. I'm not gonna be super distressed. I was super disrespectful old two oh three. I'm not gonna be super disrespectful now because it ship don't make sense for me. And that's probably why old boys shit go up, because niggas want to hear the shade. They want to get a tea like he should do Hot Topics or Highlight seven. It would be good for him,

but for me, I'm not going this year. I didn't The wrap up was eight minutes and forty six seconds, which was the same amount of time that the nigga had his knee or George Floyd, God bless. So for me it was more of a point. For me, I'm like, I get to the end of the soul and I say, the whole time he been listening to me was the whole time that that nigga had his knee on George Floyd's Imagine listening to a wrapper wrap that long and the nigga was fighting for it's like that long. So

the wrap up had a meaning this ship. It was eight minutes forty six seconds because the ship got to reflect the times. So for me, that's what it was. And I think they listened to it. They was like, oh that he was trashed the flows trashed, skills out of here and we're working with the other one. I'm like, all right, cool, But it was a meaning to the ship. Why it was as long as it was, you know what I'm saying. So that's why I did what I did.

I respect to him, and the family hit me up like, you know, we appreciate that because I'm like, it's the simble or Floyd happened in the summer I don't want niggas to forget. I'm gonna try to remind niggas one more time, you know what I'm saying, just to let niggas know. So I got a questions. I gotta, I gotta. I got somebody that I would have put on the list. And I wonder and I want to know why, dude, Like I want to know the history behind mcgoole. I

talked about that. We're talking about him talking about earlier because I'm wondering why he kept on get thrown in the cipher talking about it earlier like he he's doing well, man, super dope. Do know what I'm saying. But that's that's that was the reason why the ratfle wasn't the amount of time that it was. You know what I meant, questions, what's up? All right? I'm faded now at this point, I'm gonna tell you that it happens. Who was in the room. I want to why he looked for his

question who who was in the room? Because the way I became a skills fan was listening to Stretching Bob and that one free style you did. I know, you made a b side out of it. It was like punch laughter, punchline five minute straight. I forgot what beat was, but who that's what it was. It was called, but it had like some some underground like you know what that's you put it on the B side, but who who who? But there was other other mcs there though.

Right me and cut stretching. Barbado went crazy. It was like, Yo, we're gonna invite you up here, but you gotta bring cute It. We need to interview Cute Tip so we could talk about So that was the way you got, so we could talk about these beats and how he's been doing one Love and the Naas remix. Cute Tim goals. When they uk me to rap, I'm gonna keep the ship to you and spit that ship. Yet he said, He said, spit that ship. You spit in the lobby, in the letter and the hotel. I said, I vote.

Que Tip starts wrapping, throws the ship to me. I do the ship stretching. Barbado wasn't even had me up there if it wasn't for Cute Tip. And then Q Tip threw the ship to me and I did the verse and the ship went it went viral. I guess it's viral is now that ship was on vital bro. Yeah, the rock Steady in the Park start wrapping it. Everybody in Rocksteady in the Park would be And I was just going viral. Was that it was the King? Who? That was another rapper on that it was a song. No,

it was Mark King, just instrumental. It was That's what I was gonna watch this, so I was gonna rock the soul Again Records had had a little compilation beating number four was that beat I wrapped over. I should never forgot, never forget that. You guys, Jack the Eliah. Are you that somebody reck? Yes, DJ Lonnie be danjer Monty, I have that vinyl big like it so much. She actually made it an efficient. Yes, that's one of the

plaque I got earlier. Danje Mouth wrapped over it. Nie was in the heavier and shot DJ off shot Lonnie and his daughter too, which is the he the first DJ that has his own kid in the heavier. Danjer Mouth wrapped over first played it for me. I rapped over second, Lonnie his it, Bonnie be his and and goes, oh, no, I'm getting off like I need twelve balls. We do it. We give it to this before you can give your

song to nigga the radio. Niggas played there. Niggas would never play a song in the radio or ninety eight. What you're rapping on it now, niggnna, you mean this depth? Jam, I'm not about to add you the case you mean. We did the song. The nigga who was p D at the radio station, he came up with us. He started playing the ship. The ship pops off, it gets the Timberland, it gets to Leah Aliyah. Like, now, I want them niggas that at the tunnel to perform with me.

We performed with Aliyah at the tune that classic What what year? What years? That some Lenna tell you you know what? You know, every time I think about that record, I think about the year and we brought you to do the show in Miami, your first, your first solo show. Yeah, and I played that record at the club. Listen in Virginia, they don't play no other version but that one. That's the one. That's the only one in Virginia. Niggas, no like shout to Aliyah rest in peace in last you

know artists. I met her to Timbo super Sweet, special girl and she's from she's from Detroit. She was from Detroit. That was the first project that Tim and Missy got on their own, like you'll do this Aliyah album and then they get you love you Babe, bab ships schools. That's good. So relationship with Jazz and Jeff uh really, what the hell? Well? I told with him for thirteen years. Um, I was his MC right. I made it so the only nigger that could come get the microphone for me

while he was DJ was Will. That's it. It ain't no other nigga coming up me. And that nigga was so tight. I knew when he was gonna play before he played. I tip my hats on my respect and my love him. I'm told I filled up two passports

with that nick. I'm on my third ports passport now two of us because the yes everywhere in the world because that nig Like I told you earlier, I started dating est Dean, I moved to l A. I tell the nigga yo, Um, I'm gonna fall back from mc N because I'm out in l A now like I'm working, I'm I'm gonna I'm getting back into my song ready Ship. I wrote the nick becoming Yes Right. I tell him I'm a I'm a chill because what I'm what I'm making with you, I feel like I can you know,

I'm gonna just fall back. I'm gonna focus on song ration ship. I quit and the nigga never said nothing to me ever again. And I start DJ, and I started DJ, and I started getting better, and he starts having these DJ retreats at his crib guru there quest love DJ scratch like a call. I'm trying to get them invite I never got never. I never got invited never. And I started DJ, and we never spoke again. And I don't know what happened. I don't know that. This is not in my notes, by the way, I don't

know this question. This weird. I thought this a little game after me, had another MC after me, but we never spoke again. I've still haven't spoken to him seven eight years. And I don't know why you quit. You do know why? Yeah, but that shouldn't hear. So the thing is this, I started DJ. You know all called the sad, petty gay, But my thing is this you DJ? I think it is this. I'm a I'm a I'm a dope DJ. I started DJ, and I started doing my thing but what you left. But but you want

do you know who you are? You the greatest hip hop DJ? Ever, it can't be because you think he's looking at his competition and how can he has the first hip hop brand? No, you can never ever be in competition. He was heels just I started I started DJ. We all started DJ, and you started DJ, and he just started paying me and did like I told you earlier, I started trying to get better than not not good, and I was just like, damn. But it's not already spoken.

I hadn't spoken to him. I don't know what it is. I love him and it is what it is, but we don't speak. That's weird, man, that's not in my notice. That's a little awkward. I'm sure he's that he influenced you. I learned the same thing you learned from the nigger. I learned the same thing now. But we wasn't on tour with him day. But at the same time, Yeah, did you take something from him? Did you take Peter Piper?

Peter Piper with team? Did you do Peter Piper? We all got everything you never did not then look, I can do the Peter Piper. See I can never do it as ill as head. I definitely didn't rock you have because I say, Arris want k v A. I didn't rock the belt, but everybody's done to rock the belt. It might have been a little different because it was me, but my fingers bro when it came down to me on that. In the terms tables, I funked with the

B Junkies. I funk with DJ Manuel, I funk with d J Lonnie B. I funk with d J B out of v A. Those are the niggas that taught me this anything I learned from him as a DJ, the same thing, y'all nigga's learned. You watch them, we watch the videos that in the third I don't know why we don't talk. I'm sucking up right now. I love you, nigga. That's what you want to talk to this this this is camera right here, Jetty. But I

love you, my nigga, Thank you for everything. It's like, let's Jones mbra carry just Jack because no, no, that's a good look. We don't mind carry Yeah, do my name on it. I don't know. I can't find the record. Yeah, but let's see. You know you got whatever you want with she she gotta come tell the story once. Yeah, we need we got to drink. I tell you, we tell them dropped out about you choosing to um to get a cor verse instead of she was gonna give me some bread to get on the remix and then

you take you took the chorus with the pun. You gotta relax. Yeah, that was the time. Hold on, I was like saying, I tried to got that. I got story, I got the story we could tell. We can tell the actual story. That's scrap, that's time. That's great, it's a dope story. Now. I actually was like the first black man that actually had land on thirty second and Madison the hood lab prittily, So let's put it in that bad can I can I put it in pus back then? You please? Scrabo just made a shot. Yeah

yeahs basically, yeah, you're gonna wire here. What are you doing? Like? It looks sis but come on, I think it looks storm for the chip. Yeah come on you let me do remember all of you. I'm trying to remember playing right now. You're shot. Tell your story, the story, the story, rewind it and you had property on thirty six and Matty second thirty second boom so boom. I was engineering,

producing for Norrie coming through every day. He was nor was the tite to jump on the socket every morning to like twelve or fifteen people your way y'are at and talking about a lot of how to squad that I was done and the socking. So I was the one to press the buttons. But he only press the buns like once in the day. The rest of the day was just drinking pino and bullshit it. But if it was a moment of record, you know, he jumped into it one taking and then go back to chilling.

You know what, you know, we have to fix it. I picked up. So that's where that's what he just dropped all maconto and the and the rock rock lit familiar blew up. That's when that's when the reggaetone two thousand or six. I think there was one build number one record in the building. Can we talk about about take them turning down today? Shout to nature for actually bringing me through to you first. Come on, let's get some more shots going on about my mother ship off

my hoodie. What are you gonna do? I'm taking another peoples, I'm gonna yeah, I'm gonna follow him one bathroom. We'll do it. We'll do it. How long do you mind me? By the way, I'll lead them off. Okay, so all right, the studio, all right, so bas the league. I stopped becoming regular at your hood quote hood Lab, even though it's on Madison, six empty rooms, only one room with the computer them like the rest is mice running around and the work that we don't wear bubbles like like

there's no heed. It's just like a foul situation. But it's over the chest. But yeah, yeah, so that's it, like you know, as an upper coming producer DJ, obviously it's not it's not it's not what you knows who you know. It's about beating the right place. So I already knew if I'm gonna planting myself there, nor you know, everybody everybody showing up boom boom networking. And then when he got signed a rock life familiar Dame Dash surprising

but bringing the ride to the Hood Lab. So when she showed up, I was ready in front of the boards and everybody was on the DVD color exactly critically now that's the fact, But everybody was contracting the DVD because I was DVD, so you was talking to DVD try to get his footage, and I'm sitting there like, ship, I should play some beats in the background. You know what I'm saying. Small By the fifth beat, She's like, what's that? And then after that, you know what I'm saying,

do the pass off? And then she she picked something but let's study. Yeah, this was you know, I had searched for studios. What happened was I started to notice that I was losing money when I put a studio in Queens, because Queens is either it's in a nice part, but to get to that nice part, you gotta go do something crazy. Jersey just seemed too far to people. I finally got the perfect location thirty second at Baptist.

The person who was renting it to me at the time one of like the whole year's rent up front. I think it was like sixty the first year. So he wanted all off. No, no, it's not for the whole year. I thought. He wanted like six a month. Damn man, the whole east for the for the whole year. He wanted six thousand fours each month changed and I was just like, you know what, I'm not I'm gonna put the money into the rig and not the equipment. So we really didn't even have equipment. Shout. Can I

give a shout out to somebody? Can I just say one name? Shout the chin. Okay, shout in the chin man. So this is like provided the equipment. But then he got a third made for the whole year. I got illustrious property a thirty second, but when you went in, it was not so illustrious. No, it's illustrious outside decorations because because crazy, because we have to sleep there a couple of times. Thank you very much. I appreciate it back there since I got this ill fucking students like,

everyone's gonna come in to give the address. So what happens is right, carry wants to hang out. They das he said, goes because she lives a block away, literally a block away, but I think it actually walked over wow, and she go up to the that and I could not believe how she was about. I didn't know who wants. I mean, it's more bride, but I didn't know how much like hood nig Is turned into groupies. Like all the time I was bucked up and he was alreadypies groupies,

groupies called loopies. No, dude, that the battery already because he was drinking that peanut with This is what crack Meau. She's sitting there chilling and I'm like, yo, you drink peanut green and she's like, yeah, listen, I had to just don't happen. I had a fidgerated peanut gree Let me tell you more. Every morning put on pots, get to is this is our third day having the hood of that thirty second of man between thirty second and thirty person of Madison. It's a luxurious problem. I did

not order the furn of you yet. I'm your first never did remember, Yeah, you're from left Rand and Property. And Mariah walks in and she wants to sit down and she could sit down on creak, but yeah, I was getting I would saying Barriss the same time, like not having to me. He was like, this is kind of fucked up on the part of he was like my shop was on the ground by the way, and I'm YouTube, like I said once people is just the penot grigio. She just she dranks. She ran around the

students drop. You had Mariah sitting on the milk crap. But hold on, let me finish the story about that feature because I don't know what did you even record to it? Yeah? Alright, so boom, so let me just tell you much. I remember you're calling me and you're like yo yo, Marian. You called me like four in the morning, You're like yo. Ryan just says, she got like fifty racts for me to do the remix, but I'm gonna pass on it, and I'm gonna tell her I need a hook for this joint. I got a

pun to a Greenland up beat. So you remember he was like, I'm the hook from her. I said, that's all you want to pass the fifty bands I get? And then that record? Did that record? Ain't it never came out? This one runs, I don't never came out. No, so that he got a hook from her, but it was on. It was the punt The punt verse was sensitive. So it then come out. I had a punt Verse, had an unreleased punt verse, and me and me and Punt had a song called friends all right, and we

jacked the friendship. But yeah, so we knew we couldn't do that. And so when Marian came and did that. I was like, you know what, let me just and she's listed, so we had gave it the original being they said, come ask baby, rest in peace, Ecstacy from WHOA. Bottom line, that's some more ran carry big, upset and carry. But what happened to that verse? Though? I have no idea you have to do because I never even heard

your verse they promoted it. I just kept googling it and kept coming up like Marian and it just came up with Joel's and camp because they jacked that. They did like a mixtape version of it, and she ran with that. And you know what, I'm grateful for that. I grateful for that Moment's just us knowing like this is at the end of day. This is the hood, dudes opening up for three days, and you got one of the most biggest stuff. That's the reason why I

never really changed her lab. I never really did that. Granted you listen, I had Evie Queen coming to Evie Queen whatever you a. I'm so sorry we need her on drink chances. I'm so sorry she came into the hood lad and she took up her shoes and I wanted to tell our maid is fired forever please put your shoes back on. This is not the place to take your shoes. But I could. Evie Queen was so gast. I was just like, you don't care. Everywhere she went like, oh,

like I know we had Mike. He mentioned that earlier. You guys had a lot of things that I stopped that. I think that ghost in that motherfucker and I got stuck on on the elevator, petty cracking couple. Elevator was elevated, spect it wasn't right down the street. That's all I made that Miami things are going to this couple. That's how we need, you know, white caps. Y'all like Miami subs to New York posts. That's sucking phenomenal to New York people, but y'all hate it. And that's that's how

we are enjoy It's a part of my people. Gotta dope. We we go left hand, we right listen. This is we're gonna end this out because you still got a shot from last time. Oh ship, you know you gotta skill you one more because what we're taking a shot minster is already done. I gotta feel up. Hold on, that's y'all last year shot. But what's all I gotta say, is on our show. We want like to pick up all legends, um other genres of music. It's not even a word called washed up. Okay, bus up, bus you

got lied. You gotta put it. You gotta put bus on. Speaking your bust, the bus were here, drink chance of masks? What's going on? I get you what I'm done, Bro, I got you, I got your man. You out all right now? I keep that sitting there. What's the rounds called during the Mad Skills episode call let you know

my phone is hot. Goddamn. But we want to pick you up because in our game, and when I'm looking at like these other genmas of music, like jazz and all those other things, there's no word called washed up. There's no word called like you've been here too long, Like I see these rock and roll people they talked thirty years in this game, and everyone chares the more so I along with my partner. Yeah, we want to change the narrative of that. We want to let people

know that, you know, Champaigne is hazed your mind. Real ships age two eight seven don't carryall. There's certain years of a certain page that this is great one the same ship And the thing is, I want to change the narrative for our culture. I want people to know that. You know, it's like you said earlier, like you know y'are borrowing the car. Yeah, y'all got the car, and we ain't mad we gave you at the car. But

take care of you. Just take care of it. Get your transmission, your mouth, Like right now, I don't even got to oil change my old car because if I'm sucking up, because because if you don't take care of it, and they take care of you, yellow engine, like cut it off soon as I cut the car. Just all remember what would be without the cars, without hip hop, bro, exactly, that's what we really need to we We fucking we come from a special music man that has changed the world.

Most popular art form in the in the world, the world, the world, the world. I'm saying, like it is what it is like these corporations and these businesses, they know what we bring to the table. Man, hip hop has changed the fucking world. So with that being said, you know, we just got to cultivate it. You know what I'm saying, White grape on you, white grape you ever wrapped up a scrap Jones? But I remember I used to call him like, no, no, no, first of all, no, no,

first of all, this nig did a song. This this guy did a song called We's got into the song called Forking the Road, and I remember hearing it and it was most amazing. Ship that I say, he's gonna call you called him and I remember calling him and at this point in his life, he told me he was like Scott, wasn't sure if I was gonna DJ, if I was gonna wrap some dudes. I called him and I said, Yo, I hit him on the d M. I said, yo, Twitter, I said, yo, fam, you better

than Kanye? You you are? You? Did I tell you that? I did? I not tell you that. He put the back. I said, you keep doing your Ship. Never met him a day of my life. I might have seen him beginning to do over maybe a couple of years ago, but we never met. But I've always been a super I've always been a fan of him. You know what I'm saying, Like producers beats, I wouldn't even happen, you know, I wouldn't need rapping songs in my mixes. Like my thing is whatever I'm doing. If I stop with you,

I'm gonna put your ship into what I'm doing. I'm saying, if I do a podcast, I'm gonna drop your name on my podcast. If I'm doing the mix, I'm gonna play your song in my mix. I did a ship in plenty of times, and he played my ship early, like back back. What I'm saying non factor big b days like fan man that take address that I'm fucked up to himself. Drink, I'm so gonna got a beatbox outside drink. We saw on the side this ship crazy. We're twenty drink minimum, So let me get over her.

Tell me about that, because that's after I Ain't Man and I got I asked about the albums in the beginning about it I Ain't Man no More, and competition of the Goes writing was the Rockings album, which was the same album I was on tour with Nerds in two thousand two. I started selling them ships out there, out there at the shows and finished the show you know, meet me at the merged. Move from selling CDs and

Matt Skills T shirts. I sold probably more than ships than rockers, so I was moving them because I knew rockers out of business. So I'm like, no, I'm gonna sell my music. My ship only came out. It only came out, and like it came out real quickly, and they didn't press up no more CD. So I pressed up CDs on my own, like a mixtape, show them ships and a million dollar backpack. Who was in a million dollar back million hours? I don't really know, I don't That was. That was the one after after Gym

got a popping Shadow Stokes. I'm saying the saw on the Graham those my niggas. Um. That was when I did the song with Common Freeway Black Thought who else ahead on the album Tyler Quality. Um, that's the first time I did a song for women and realized, like I've gone back when the O G said, Yo, make songs with who you think? I made a song called heat on Me for real. Women loved it. I feel like l for fanteen minutes. She was amazing, loved it. Yes, Yes,

I'm a cute nigga. Sometimes the weekend niking something that it depends something, No, depends. When I got there, James Pony killing them differences so anxious him and Tim was getting big. I was the rapper, you know what I'm saying. When I popped in it was Pete Barba Swalks, Mrs j uh and then Missy had this artist from from my hood name what was her name? Mocha Nicole Ray brother name Kenney shouted to Kenny Um, we was doing songs together. But I never oh no, I never hopped

on the genuine joint. Wasn't wasn't no beating get on the poem. He wasn't like that hop the remixed and that was that was what took us questions good, you do a lot of you do a lot of lives streaming for the ladies. You do like brunches, and like, ever got some buns off of that? I haven't got no buns yet off of the stream that I knew

every weekend nineties girl brunts. But it's a it's a community of women, people that have gravitated and people start it was Dope the DJ, and people started supporting each other, like, yo, your your daughter cell. Girls got cookies, I'm goa boy something from her. You do a fitness class, I'm gonna take your fitness. Like dope community built the whole community when when the quarantine and niggas couldn't really go out, no buds. The world needs More Skills one of my

favorite albums. Uh. I wrote the song called Celebrate Life. That was for Ross. I don't even know if Ross ever heard it. But if you hear, if you hit the song now, can't you can't see you? What do you mean? I mean it was more than one Ross in the world. The way you made that you just just no, no no for the the hook. I was trying to be Rose. I don't know if he ever heard it, but it was for him, but I ended up keeping it from myself. Um. Craziest song called Celebrate Life.
