e F? And this is gonna Tammy crazy Hall. I don't know what he's said. And right now, when you talk about lyrics, when you talk about a guy I've seen, you know come on the scene, it was crazy. It was like burst on the scene and it was it was nothing like it like I mean, it was really really nothing like it at the time, especially being from Queens. Then it became a part of a legendary group. I
mean every week I called it like Karen Events. He was on a clue tape being disrespectful and to let you know who wanted basketball, who wanted like he was keeping up with the current events. The man has kept he was signed, the track master, signed, the nas the business with the biggest people in the world. The man is still here, still repping that q B, still going harsh,
still with the hardest boss in the world. And you just gotta tell him you want to record with somebody else, her body And if you don't know to talk about my man, you made yester. Now, now they were gonna take this around the world. We're gonna take this from the top. Let's take it from the top. Now, you
be original, right, what block that we from we're talking about? Okay, yeah, and that's that is technically the hell right yeah, ok yeah, the store the block that got the stores in right, yeah, yeah, the only block to get the stores. And no, no, I mean the Everett that's like, yeah, the street you know Vernon Vernon Day, that's Cheka from the poll that was just considered burning, right, yeah, but I mean there's technically no stores on the block. Tell yeah, put it
on the store in my mind. Yeah, well so Tennis Street. Let's you're gonna we don't pop bottle ace with everybody. But you're a very special guy. You know what I'm said. We're gonna pop a bottle of ace? What motherfucker nas is that? Okay? Is that? Okay? Okay, okay, tell me tell you. So let's let's say it from the beginning. When did you start rhynning? I start rhyming since a
kid man. I was the dude that like that just loved every record and like, um, I would just like change the words of the records, like you know, I mean to make my own little records, my own little records of it. Yeah, you know what I mean. And in my house we had record places. There wasn't turntables. I was treating them like turn tables because I was like, you know, my pops had a lot of records at the time, and I would try I would miss up a lot of needles and like that. Remember you mightn't
really have a j oh, that's a good question. I don't really have a you know, I don't really know. But I was like I love the blends. I loved you know what I mean. So um rap was like real easy to me. It was like, yo, that was the ship, you know what I'm saying. I don't really had no name yet. I was like that was the hard paull like that we can't make your name and like that. But but you know what I mean, hip hop just just hip hop because for me it was like I did a little bit of all of it.
You know, I was a kid that could do the Buffiti and he was. I spent on my saying roster music. But you know when when hip hop was was was was becoming some ship I wouldn't you know, we don't know who. I don't know if I was gonna be the DJ, the rapper. Uh, you know what I'm saying. Ship, But but I embodied all of that ship yes, and then and then all right, cool, look lootie little shot little look a little not shot yet just regular chairs.
So all right boom. Now when you started Roman, who was the people from the Queen's Bridge that was on who's here? Like people who looked up to when we came up. We've always had like Molly Mars, right, Molly Mall was the dude and DJ hot Day that day was the dude that was like he brings the speakers
out and he brings me speakers out. Everybody started coming around and you know, it becomes the party, right, So we used to use the the part queens bridge was right across the street from this big park, so mall m all, and these dudes just it used to be nothing to come outside and see the em C Shins, the Juice crew. There was the Niggers right, so it would be like Coogi wrap order about hanging outside outside, and now that's outside, these guys walking out. I heard
Rock did check out my melody. He recorded that one of those cane and all these things on your you're going to the store, Like holy shit, you know what I mean. But it was so dope because videos wasn't the ship. So if you reach to the point where somebody said, yo, that's such and such, who's especially if you had the juke box. If you don't have the jukebox, man have that dollar twenty five. You know, watch ain't half stepping you. But we used to have these jams
in the park, you know what I'm saying. We had River Park, so you know, at any given time, there was like forming some ship in front of me. Like it was like the empty Shins, the crack gs, the rocks and sean time. You don't do they're all older than me. But I was the dude that was watching these shows in the park from the tree branch, no exaggeration, like I know that if I'm too short to stand right here, and they like that, and I know that if I moved from this tree branch, I'm not going
to see the show. But I'm watching the hip hop live from the beginning, like you know what I'm saying. It was like, holy ship, these guys donna ask you a question. So when Shan said hip hop started out on the ball, you thought that he really really start. I've never been over nowhere else, so I'm like this ship, you know what I mean. These guys were dope, but they was They were just like you didn't. Like I said, it was no video, so you have to like love
this music right here. And the only way you could get it was through the radio, I believe, through a Friday or Saturday night, through you know what I mean, having the radio and taping this ship. And and I was the guy that was the next day to be playing songs like yeah, you ain't got this right, hitting me good, and I'm you know, I'm playing the only
reason why I didn't I didn't believe Shan. But the only reason why I had cousins always from the Bronx that with with with debate that immediately, but like, no, it didn't come from me. But the day to Queen's Bridge was the first people that was actually doing parties on the Queen's side. So I can see where you know thought that, and I can see where other people from Queens because you know that they with a jam and Shan right trying to get on chance and listen,
we are not avoiding you at all. We got we got. But what I'm saying was while I was sharing was Sham was the first person I've seen I had style. He had like two different color pumas, yeah, big kingos, he had rope chains. He was like even though you know when the when the ship went on with caress One and talking about him and all that suff ship, but he would walk around and have the audi and he was a definition of what a star was. And
I didn't know what anything sold. He might not have ever made any money from the records, but if you looked at mc ship, he was at his time, he was with it. What we wanted was the man still a man, and he did a lot for us things in Queens. Richard win the triple off, so okay, so you looked up to right now boom, Now what is the point what you said to yourself, I'm gonna actually do this professionally because me personally, I'll ride for a
long time. I ride, probably since I was a leaping but I never thought of doing it professionally until I was like that. For me, I still wasn't even when we were just doing the all these clue tapes, right, I still didn't really don't say that I didn't take it serious, but I still didn't understand what it takes to probably shape the album. I'm still didn't none stand how to do I'm doing clue taps, not really knowing
how to count bars. I just know that my bars was kind of fire, you know, So I didn't know as far as you can't how you getting on clue taps to start, you definitely skip the way off. So it had to be a moment prior to that that you said, you know, I think I could do this, Like what was that? I mean? Because at the time dudes was establishing names for themselves right after you already had the wave of the h Molly's and all these
other things. It kind of went quiet for a minute, right, And so We're still in school, so I'm learning about who's dope that's around me, like you know what I mean? Like Yo, the word of spread throughout the hood and through school. Who's dope? Like You'll start walking across the street to the other side and here, yeah, I heard other such as kind of dope. You know what I mean. It might not be an official battle, but you might go one ahead. What's going on because people are talking
I'm saying, and I just knew that. I didn't really write rhymes, but I can catch it anything like I could catch style. I can catch I knew how to change the words, so I can catch anything you threw at me. So anytime, dudes was kind of like the names was building up, I might have said, like a little bit of something that I had. It might not be a full rhyme, but my rhynd might be. Like like I said, so your name starts getting put in these circles. I'm still not thinking about taking serious. It's
still like I still I had all. I still had to go through the trials and tribulations of the hood before I even could get to that, you know what I'm saying. People didn't know me as a rapper. Certain dudes in the school, like you know who's who, who could carry who has some balls? But I wasn't like it was dudes before me. It was like the Cold Megan's and all of that, you know what I mean. It was these guys that was putting in work on it on the street like some real ship. But my
name was always mentioned in those circles. But still I wasn't the first or first how you talked about for the second guy you talked about. But it's circular, yes, you know what I mean. So um, all right, now you did that. What was the person in the new era that you started to I know you said cold. What was the person let's walked you to say, you know what, I could do this the new era from from Queen's Bridge or anywhere it could be for a minute,
well doing front and you know what I mean? It was it was when the talks of money being made when we're actually making records, when he was actually talking about um doing an album called the Firm. It was like, Hey, this guy from the hood, my gobs from the hood that we kind of we we we didn't let's go fast with lem just going buying, all right? Well, how did you meet jumping with? That's where that that was
the condition connection, right, yeah, all right, let's go. Yeah, I mean I mean were in the we in the hood. We just vibed out, we just connected earlier. Um, it was like exciting for me to actually go from the transition from recording in people's cribs to go to the studio. So fucking with Jung Jung had the opportunity for us to actually go in the studio. So this is the first time I'm actually hearing how did young know you, Rhyn? Because, um, I mean we all have we all with mutual friends,
we were all we're all from the project. Jungles from Vernon, us from Vernon. For people that don't know queens Bridge, I know that is the next block Vernon and timp Street would be the next block, and the timpt Street and Tall Street be the next block. That one little block is a whole another word like you know what
I'm saying. So how did he know you? You Rhyn Test Street and he's from Burning Now I think it was probably like my dude Killer and probably dudes like wiz Killer from Vernon from Okay, but you know what I mean, It was association at the time when when when Naas was when Nas first came out with his album, the guys that was around him were also around me
and you rhymed back then on that. Yeah, when It Matter came out, you already he was already mine, but it wasn't But I was not serious until it Mannic came out when madd came out, So I gotta get my light together, you know what I'm saying. For reals, But we've had plenty of conversations prior to making records, me and Nas where we didn't sat there, we talked and you know, I remember borrowing his Tripical Quests tape Tripical Quests came out. I actually borrowed his tape textet
we will Doead what What's Ale? He came back to take came back to the crib to get the tape. That's like, you know, we borrowed you take back the try bold Quest tape. Now if I'm lying real, you know what I'm saying. So we were like this ship was always around us. Name of the album, it was my favorite favorite instincts travel, people's instinct travel. What's that's the name of that's the that's the first one, right, that's the first one, you know what I mean. So
we we were around this ship. We loved this ship, you know what I'm saying. So you're saying, you all right because I didn't know this. I swear to God, I did not know this. So you knew NAS and don't do prior to them, even they're really really nice because NAS is most of my age. So you know what I'm saying. So it's like at the time, I'm
I'm sucking up. I'm you know what I'm saying. I'm doing all kind of getting in trouble and ship like that, and the guys that's around and saying, you know what, I got somebody that I got faith in two some from the block that I think that we should kind of like bring him to the studio and try to do some ship. They talked about you what they told about they're talking about me, you know what they're talking about me. So they get me to the studio. We
started recording. I don't know, I don't remember. Probably was shout off DJ Clue that very first shootout joint probably was. That was like one of the first records I've ever made like that. So thet me so so we went into the studio and we should start making little free styles. Right. Clue made it open because he gave us the opportunity to like to get on these tapes. Right, I'm still not really taking it serious, just like because everybody's going
their way up. There's nobody that's really you know what I'm saying. It's kind of different when you when your men, like when you spend time with somebody from more and they become famous. I'm just still my man from a little I'm just supposed to still be my man. Certain things change in life. We totally understand that. But at that one point, do I look at you as like that? Because I got plenty of stories of like why you're
becoming this stall? We're still right here and if you're my man, I'm playing different roles for you that serious. But didn't know. I didn't know until I see all these other rappers I got told you I was coming from being locked up and remember that, so I didn't really care what it is. But I didn't realize that Clue was giving me the opportunity to be first or second on these tapes and me and the locks and ship, like that's what these dudes is becoming something, and they
had these expectations of me. I didn't know because I'm following my team's lead. So they're talking about forming some big ship that's going on. Who's the team and the team at the time. I mean, I'm who's talking. I'm coming into the game, into the studio, still being a part of NAS. So whatever he's shoying to for him, I'm not sure what he's shying the form, but I'm
a part of that, you know what I'm saying. So we're running around, they're talking about doing the firm, and he's picking these other rappers that I've never known met before, but you heard of. They're becoming, they're becoming stars there their own people in their own right. But I was pulled into this game because as a reaction, Okay, let's take a shot before we go there, I feel like you want to go to them. We're gonna talk about whatever.
But it's not like your typical ship, you know what I'm saying, Because all right, the hold I remember, let me go on. I'm bringing back because when I was doing these clue joints, I'm recording these clue joints every every time crew comes out. I'm I'm on these tapes right, but how did it get to the Clue joints? Though the guy's clue was kind of because Clue was in house with Steve down and that, but I'm still not
I'm stale. I'm sorry you just cut off because one a second at this time, I still can't describe the buzz that Clue had, like the amount that it meant for you to be a number one through five people getting signed for Clue. So like at first, like I haven't I described when I met you, but when I didn't meet you, I think the first three style you had with just you by yourself, so no one knew your affiliation, no one. It was the second threestyle but
nows actually set some Adeline or something. I don't remember like perfectly, but I remember how step shipped meant to the city, so I know him on No, no, no, they're got a shot the shot. Let's stay forward, sile side, stay listen to you three ten say bad Wana made? So so what's happening, what's happening? What's happening? Yeah, okay,
I can't what's going on? Got sorry? Alright? So bom um, all right, So you start doing the coupe tech first one, the second one didn't, so you you don't actually know what's what's going on because the firm had already been started at that time. They had already been starting, okay, And I'm not really being so I'm not talking about business when it comes down to that, I'm basically the guy the shooter. I'm still trying to figure out what kind of who I am, what kind of style I have.
I just know that clue is after I do this take, I'm getting a response from the people, you know what I'm saying. So it's a little bit bigger from going from rapping on the corner. So I went from rapping on the corner to wrapping in people's cribs in the living rooms in the basements, to now going to the studio and actually getting a good sound and ship you know what I'm saying, and leaving with tapes and ship like that, and so the people in the hood as
actually starting to talk. It's starting to talk. I'm becoming another one of those names that's from the hood, that's You've got so many after this freestyle at least, you know, in the studio and just doing just being in the studio, being being affiliated with Son because he didn't really start to do anything for anybody yet outside of life's a bit you didn't really he didn't. You know, he's still
climbing up on his way up. But to actually here that, Yo, he got somebody from the hood that's that can actually wrap it. And you know what I'm saying. You know what I'm saying. And I'm not one of the first people. I don't know what the relationship that he has with Mega or what he has with all these other guys, but I just know that everybody that that hung around was kind of old to one kind of cruel to you know what I'm saying, one kind of crue I
didn't understand the business. I didn't understand this, but I know that I've been listening to rap for so long that I could do this ship too, you know what I'm saying. So what happened when they approach you and that was what was it? Steve Stout? Is that the first person to turn it into business for you? Yeah, because that's the first people that I actually got to check from. So to Steve Stout, I say, you know
what I mean, shout out to them. They the ones that actually was like because it's not like your hand, they put you on a clue tape without you actually signing to them. Yes, because I was crazy because clue tape us still with like, no, I didn't know what this one, what was happening with these clue tapes. I just know that when I was going to go see my po wan't Jamaica my po fucking We're going in there.
We're going to record store, one of these little small last record stores, and that's when you actually will buy the tape just because of certain names was on it, you know what I'm saying. But I didn't realize that people was buying it because Lean was on it until
I was meeting these people like oh Ship. But at the time, it was almost like ghost space killer when I say that in the happening, really the cowboy happen the cowboy you know where I think it's from the hood making they get they get you know who got it? Then when they get a cow cowboy, I got the cowboys. So all right, Clue, let's just get into it. I think the first time I met you, it's in the studio very j blis friend fatal let me tell you
something to get there. I always heard about this guy, but I never was around this guy right here right. I knew Capone because Capone was from Queensbridge. So in the middle of me getting locked up and doing dumb shit, these guys happened to shoot a video on the roof of my building. Video was shot on the you know, on the roof of my building. So I see these guys there. I didn't need him still to me, I know, I'm saying. It was still this guy that had this
this opward style. Nobody didn't know, you know what I mean. They thought his name was Jose Luise. I didn't know, but I thought on the side this ye about celebrated stories. I mean, who I fake? Fake? Oh God, So this guy right here making his rounds. I'm still a fan of what's going on. And it wasn't until a round of time when he was actually doing the firm that we was drown in the pot together. So it's like I've never been nowhere. So my first time in Miami
might have been his first time in Miami. Have no driver's license. We're just out heads, smoking weed and hanging around the fellers and dre and these niggas and ship like that your bowl on. I'm saying the very first time was before that though, But where was we act right track? It was with us married j Bilies when that record, when that record came out. So this is this, This is what I gotta ask. I gotta ask because I know you probably answered this a million times. I'm
sure you know MEGA probably asked the million times. But here's is it on that record? That was the record that you went that? Yeah, that was the record. I had heard that he was a guy no no please, and somebody bullshit gash me told me, yo, he's talking about you. Y know, they're talking about you and they're shipping on you, and it was managining every record. But when he said there they do because all right, so
that's would happened. Okay, he's saying that when you got to the studio, when you have to student, people are saying that, or people are saying that price you get into the slide. To me, getting that makes sense because you know why because I'm the only one that one left field on that record. Listen, I was Mary j By So here's a jip. I went to the I think I went I was too scared to use the interns at this time, so I actually went to the store or something myself to go grab some more super cigars.
Like I didn't know how the studio work. I just wanted to rhyme, you know what I'm saying, So I didn't want to push nobody's buttons. But by the time I came back and when I heard I heard I heard your ROM, I had thought, this is this is that you cleared a twenty year history for me, for me personally, because I'm on the record, and prior to that, I didn't see them trying to gas he was I said,
I didn't see the people. I didn't see Nas, I didn't see Jungle, I didn't see Steve Stout like suggesting that you go at Beta, right, So I didn't see that. So as I came back, you know, I've been't had my ROM ready. But then when I heard your mom or, I don't know. I think you went first for sure, and I just didn't know where they come from, where it came from, right, Okay, I'm fucking we we did the y sound like ben Bleak story was now heard that I know that I was going out of town.
I heard yo this guy's talking about you. He said such and stuff. So they even told me some bullshit, but I started to cut you. I'm sorry to stop you. But at the time, you you wasn't the member of the firm yet. You was just yeah, we said. But but I felt like they made me feel like I was in competition for this, for the for that pos they made me feel like I was in kind You mean, you didn't know the powers that So I hear this ship, I'm tight as a motherfucker. We go to the studio.
We got everybody in their clues, Mary, everybody in there, and I just decided to just use this record right here to to to start some bullshit. I don't know start that. I'm not even going. I mean, it's over come on, I don't know. It was a whole bunch of ship. It was. It was. It was a record that had so much of us. I don't think it so crazy that even when they blocked out Megan's name, you still knew it was not because the street start talking at that time, Street start talking, what was coming
on the player? Come on, you know family like Megan knows, and come on, we did it with him it Come on, this yeah, I got his phone. It was it was the people that was sucking over there. I got something you want to go Okay, you don't even know. So that was it. That was it, and that was just enough for me. I thought at the time, UM, just speak my piece, right, So when I speak my piece, I knew I'm going out of town. I just thought
about it. I just didn't didn't think about it. So once I fucking I went to l A. I had to go to l A. And like two days after this where you talking about the l A. So this is when I go to l A. I get the call. Clue just came outside. Oh my god, it's on and soon you getting back. It's on. So I'm like what you know what I'm saying, I'm still gonna do it blind because I didn't feel that I was the aggressive. I felt that I was defending myself. I felt that, yo,
somebody took a shot and take a shot back. Just what we do. This is what we do, you know what I mean? It's still it still was nothing personal. Was just like I'm feeling myself. We both in the spot, but we didn't really know. Question your people that was telling you that the you I loved going to the studio. I didn't think about that. I was like, oh, you said this is true, I said, but what's true? But but and this is like I said, like I got he's on on standby two. This kay, But this is
real ship. The thing is about it is we can only change our future, our passes, our past. We gotta live up to our past right now. Of course it's so much s. I don't want to what I did. I did, I didn't do, you know what I mean. Now, it's not about shut up what but I mean, that's that's the ship that happened. And that was my mind state. I felt like, no, and nobody's gonna take this away from me. This is my first time actually flying out of state. Just's my actually getting this big check. This,
you know what I mean, I'm my mind around. I'm still in the hood. It's like when you hear when you got your check and still it's like I'm still boring crack crack. I'm gonna train with in my pocket, like you know what I'm saying. Changed my life for real, like real ship. I look, I'm in there with the money though, you know what I mean. So I felt like I had to protect that, you know what I mean.
It was It was never nine personal or nothing, but I felt like, yeah, you ain't gonna take them from this. Life is changing. I got the Cowboy because this is my acts. It's cause at that time I needed to know. I never really knew. I never really knew, like I thought, actually you got gas, I thought, or like or not you got gas or somebody gas to just to say that,
let me tell you that I'm not. I was never known as the hustler or the crack seller, so my name was never gonna be like, oh you heard your nature out there that they didn't even really know some people but still called me by my real name, So you got real name in the world. The head his real name sounds like a superhero Jermain Baxter. Sounds like they just put on a case and just like, listen, the superhero sneature. But when you go to us, I
even gave you the slim name with that Alder. The dudes that I probably met in the game throughout my whole career, the most genuine dude's been this guy that's been my guy. So our stories are so intertwined. It's like he asked me questions that he probably he knows, you know not but you know what I mean. But that's how we win as far as on that side. So we're becoming notorious on the streets as far as
the clue. They're putting us together, and then all of a sudden, boom, the relationship between Son and Mega falls. So when that's when that relationship, this is, this is, this is, this is It's important, not only important to me, but important to the audience because um, at that moment was it wasn't you felt obligated to say, you know what, this is my team. They put me in this position.
Let me take that, let me take that. So it's like it's like when Charles walking off, somebody gets traded to the next team, Like and you with that next team, you want an elbow. That's what it was. This is the guy, right, what happened is it's the guy placed something. This guy that that's that's basically changing your life, right, he has the opportunity to change your life. It's not right, but he's going through such a transition that I can't
be with him every day. So somehow I'm getting connected more and more every day with jungle right, because it's the same. You know, when it's time to be somewhere, it's still coming down the chain of the chain of the command. We didn't sign papers to say, hey, you and this is where you come into play. We didn't. We never signed papers to say, hey, you're gonna be
my manager or this and that. We're become brothers. And at the same time, he's forming a bond with you, so we both have the same manager or the same guy at the same time. So it's only right that me and you start bonding. But mind, I'm older than you guys, you know what I mean. But we're all for the same ship. You guys have a name before me. So I'm still a fan. I don't no matter what, I still coach your first ship on you because I'm a fan of this. But we're becoming brothers now because
we all are locked in together. I don't think that's deserve a shot. Got got that, souther What happened is fucking with track Masters. They designed the Bearsville situation. That's later. Hold on, you're going to but this is how it happens. Keep up with me, y'all, Keep up, look at the shot,
Keep up with me. It's done. It's done. God, Okay, all right, so God, so after this comes out, because that bears mil was after that, right yeah, bears filds before any like, right before the firm, and that's when I will start my solo. Okay, all let's describe how crazy bears Field describe out like, Yo, I've never seen no ship like this. Like I said, I'm still counting the places I'm going. I'm still new feeling, I'm still hood,
We're still rough around. And they put this, they designed it where as we can go to the studio in the woods. You don't you can't leave. There's no stores, no store. Anything you need is cater to you. Jail yail, and it's and it's me Nori in the house. The houses houses the house. Half the house is fifty half the houses. Me of problems, I got my I got
my old Listen. What happened is what happen. Know this is real ship track masters are so hot and it was so important to them that everybody like listen and with them. I was the only artist that wasn't on track master. I was so connected with the firm and everything, and they couldn't keep up with him. First of all, they can't control him and making and making his own whatever he needs to do. He has that momentum ready. We're still coming in like, oh Ship, you know what
I'm saying. They followed my league, but um, but they lead it. They lead it with me, you know. And I remember, I remember, I remember listening to him and Polk. I will never forget this conversation to have with him. I was like, Yo, I needed Street Dreams and they was like, Nope, you ain't gonna get that from us.
And I said, what, you don't know? What's crazy? At that time, all the records that nazis to turn down, they used to give him The fifty supposed to be reconsiectually be like, oh, Ship, I heard that over here, but he got a version of it. And he's creating whole songs at the time. Remember he was like really doing that. They was going at him because that's when they're like, yo, why are you singing? Or why you know how to how do you know how to ramp?
And try to harmonize. It was the game was kind of different, but he was right there with us, so they was kind of trying to fill in the void. We're making this firm album that's supposed to be this amazing ship. But we have Nori. That's not a firm. Remember, we have cannabis, we have guys. That was kind of half half him. Yeah, he's on the desperas you know whatever. Steve Styling track Masters was hard. They was gonna throw
our us. But at the same time we were so dope they gotta stop you right there, Steve Style Tracks is not bring me in Jungle from me in Yeah, I got, But what I'm saying is the politics of the game before we stopped, you need to say, you know, firm O and all of that. Nori was so dope that he was part of one of the dopest songs on the joint with me. He actually got to ask yourself why there was never a video, why there was
never that. That's a whole another chapter. Face, brother, he's trying to So I'm gonna be honest, this is my my brother. Like everybody like Yo, I'm gonna tell you something I always say. The transition to my solo career was I'm leaving like that ship because that did the war report. You know, you've got the blunt spreading. Come on, about next time. What you want to blunt? You want a motherfucking you know, for the for cancer awareness. That's
chance in there's a little bit of the book. You doing that, Yeah, yeah, yeah, you can grow on small. We got the more you ain't got, the more you know. Um. So I always say, yeah, understand what's going on right here? Yeah? Basically right, you know what's gonna So you got you up with the speed, right, you have more spread, then listen form let's pick up to the side, regular drinks. I'm gonna tell you something, this real ship. After the
War report, I was stuck. It was called music, purgatory music. And for those who don't know what purgatory means, purgatory is is that place stuff between heat on the hat. You're gone. You don't know if you're gonna make it back seven Oh you're gonna make it that. I didn't really know I was selling crack. I went back to Southern cracks, just fucking do what I know now. It was actually on the War Pour, the album trying to come music making stucks. Calm down that that story is
up in the air. After the ax nots. When he was here, I was there. I was there at night when Eat Eat money Backs, Eat money Back. He raised the room. And he wasn't credit on the record in the official album. Not No, that's not the truth. He wasn't credited for album Love My Life. He was being one be stuck on that game. Keep behind the real
fact that I was. So I was trying to figure out how this guy, this guy right here was surviving all the ship because I come from the ship and this motherfucker came in at every time and delivered such an energy and such a ship that I always went home like scratching my head, like, Yo, how to thank your day? I got? Yeah, you know it's me and my train of thought was in the album all right. So room is that the money bags was on it. NAS didn't like that the money bags was took off
of it and Tray just put on it. So that's the room, all right. The rumor was he wanted to make it up. He wanted to make it up to us. He want to so so he this is the crazy shit. He promised me to come to Miami. Firms didn't go to Miami. I'm talking about NAS. Yeah, this is for the firm out. This is no one to announced the firm I'm not sure at this time, but then the Firm album actually comes and I remember it was a Nature's session. It was a Tuesday, and it was one
of million percent Nature's session. So because I flew out on my own and when I flew there, his Nature's session, and that's how I'm leaving became. And I always felt like the brol could have been like, man, funk this other dude. Let him get out this fucking session. You know what I'm saying. Like when the Beatles played Ilied played to be I know this obviously me trappeds his credit?
Did I believes to be your record? I think he was running through beats, running through beast they trying to because when we start, can we talking about firm Ship? In my opinion, the firm Ship was contractually set up to kind of like crash right, meaning when I said that, because everybody was on different labels when they reached this peak and they decided to put the album out on Interscope Records, where nobody was on in the Scope Records labels.
So the labels say, hell, no, you're not gonna deliver album. Give it to this label right here, that's not us and make money for us. Here's your stipulation. You can only be on a certain amount of records. You can only probably be on three records. So if you listen to the album, the person that's not signed filling all the void, which happened to be me. So the outside people looked at it if it was like my album, you, I mean from from from the way that it was labeled.
You couldn't just say it was the firm. You have to say it's nas Asy Foxy Brown presents the front right. And since they did that, and Sony was like, nah, you're not nas. You can't deliver another album to in the scope. You gotta kind of do this, Yeah, you gotta, you gotta do this our way. So I was the person that filled in the gap. If it was probably called Mega at the time, it might have been called Mega. But if Omega wasn't on depth him and they might
have said the same ship too. I didn't have no paperwork. So at this time I'm filling in records and I'm vibing with this guy. I got stories with my first time in California with this guy. Remember, I remember one time I was in the studio and these guys left me right him and Jungle left me, and then they came back into the studio while I'm still in there right in the record with brand new sneakers and branding right,
and they had my sneakers handing outside the door. So they came in like, hey, we weren't shot and we were fresh. We got this. I'm like, oh, I can't leave, you know, I couldn't leave. There's act like they had no speakers for me and fucking boom. Here at the rand New Rand New the only hand day. It was a party, Dre and I was having a party and Nori was the person that said, I want to go
to Compton. I want to see Compton. I don't care if I'm nothing else right, And Jungle goes to this party with the same sekers on and the same basketball jerseys on. Mean why the whole party got on suits and ties. And this guy goes to party in Compton comes back talking about, Yo, these guys that shower caps on them. Everyone he wanted to know. I used to go. I said, what, I want to go and see the
actual woods. He's like, party, I want to go to those, That's what I mean, Like, Yo, this is some real this is my brother right here. I don't remember what. They're sitting the corners with shower cap. I was like, New York, never heard of no ship like that. I love it. I love so. But let's just tell these guys right, so we walk in. Now, I think you're used to this. Now me hearing your story, Now you're like a great actor, because I thought like you were
just used, like because we were sitting there. Dr Dre's like this neue nature and I'm looking like holy ship. But you know, I'm trying to keep about to say I'm not stop. He's rolling joint force. This is real ship head just buying handy force every night, every night he just got married, you know, shots to Dr Ja. I know, I know he's about to get Dr Dre James, Well, I gotta shot. Let's take side of the real ship. The word about the s it comes from the ship.
You know what I mean. We're running around trying to we're trying to make yourself and ship like that. And every night Dr Dre just got married by us. Henny, he's rolling us joints and pretty much the ball the bullets in our court, you know what I'm saying. But Nori comes in. We do I'm leaving. We know it's a banger. I know it's a banging because if you correct me, if I'm wrong. This is what happened to me and my thing. I was my session supposed to
be Wednesday. I landed on a Tuesday because I had to fly to JFK JF Kick Up the Dells Fly Tuesday yourself. We had. It was it was that type of party we went. It was the session nat just finished these clue sessions natives to me. To me, You're probably looking at me like I got a name, but I'm looking at you like you're the hottest stink in the world, Like you know what I'm saying. It's not then it's you, So correct me from wrong. In my opinion, the drever was playing it and engineering so he said
he said, I forget what he said. He said, Yo, you got something for this, and I was to the side and I was like, he was like, I don't even know how you announced my name. I know it's wrong, Like how Yeah, So I went to that opening to go through that. You know what I'm saying things I would try to but anyway it might for you tell me and this is the reason why this is I'm leaving. It wasn't what I'm leaving. There's no band from TV. Yeah,
I'm leaving. I felt that he bodied it. I'm leaving, I think still coming from it from a literal standpoint, and he's coming from it from five. He just he knows how to just set the vibe. And so that's why when it came down the band from TV, when we get there, okay, it was time to set the vibe. Like, Yo, it's a difference between um ran from dope rhymes and like you're creating something that yeah something, let me just say this everywhere back and I'm leaving. I'm leaving. Listen.
At any moment, Nature could have been like, Yo, wait a minute, this is my session. This is why I funk with you. That's why I love you to this day. It's because at any time that was his session. It was a Tuesday. My session wasn't to a Wednesday. That's when Bloody Money Part two came out. That's what that says. I was. I'm saying you. I'm saying, come on, I don't get none of this. I forget. I can forgive you everything I just did. But so that session with
Ill Kill You Not, I had these rhymes. The reason why I no, we know this and nor we know that? Yo, but no we know God why that I can make your famous? The reason why I said it, I don't think it was. I don't know seeing this the greatest live was the reason why I said it because those rhymes was originally on the Warry coord album. That was a whole record. I m so so from so it was crazy. Didn't know it? Yeah right, okay, so so
yeah yeah, um, so that's the reason was. And I remember because I remember, I feel like Dre was right there like I did it perfect the first time and he was like, you gotta do it over and I was like, it's that because it's perfect, but I'm Dr Dre and I didn't understand what he meant and I did it like several more times or whatever, right, mom. The bottom line is that record from me into a
whole other level. It brom me to it, and it was crazy because I was like, you know, coming up in and and what we was doing still even though I had an album out, but it was like that differentiated me from everyone else that record, yes, and I was mad. I was like he got me on that This is the book runs up to the band from TV. So you remember what studio? He is a bad from TV, But I don't remember. I had dog was there. I remember the night when when we first came to do
them from TV, which turned into being from TV. That wasn't the beat, that's right. It's because of you. That wasn't to be like like y'all naked your faith, like, look, I gotta do a bega what you want my album? Remember you gotta go first. You walked out the room. He was like, all right, god, do what you do? Boom And I was switting there smoking weed and I hack a dog with me and I was like, you know what. I wanted to show him that I could fucking stop a mudhole and this beach. That's true. I
know this is true. Listen. I had to Swiss beat because you got me, because you got me on. Just get you what you did. This is the crazy thing we didn't we did. It's Electric Lady, by the way. The studio that I wasn't really good in there I was. I was doing my studio, Jimmy studio, the studio with the cat allerged tout in the world and woke by me. And that's not because Jimmy will tell you why why
I felt a certain way. I'm telling you way because because no one else, because because he's right there with me. Right But at the same time, he's not just by himself. He kind of has a little people. He has shipped in perspective, has people like you're gonna do this, You're gonna book the studio, You're gonna do this. And I didn't have none of that. But some fucking rhymes, man, and he had the business sense of it back then. So to hear your this, Nick is not making a mistake.
Why didn't Why do they love him? He's fucking oh man, you know he's not the most lirical guy. He got he gotta stab but no, that's how he was. We came up in that competitive that but and he just got me on the last record we did, so I have to get him. So now he plays his speech and I didn't know this. Swiss comes in, So the first beat isn't Swiss, Just to be I believe old beats free time. I'm meeting Swiss, just the guy with this funnel, Swiss, the guy with the funny notes. He
was we know you don't don't even saying this. He has his ship in the order, he knows producers names, he knows he knows certain ships, and I'm like, damn, I don't know that. You know, you know he has this relationship with people before before back there shot. So Swiss comes in and he plays this due and I say, you know what, this makes me feel like a superhero. This band from TV BET And I'm saying to my man,
you know what, watch this. Nor leaves the room. I write the rhyme this is probably you know what I'm feeling it because I like to see with me sometimes I was with the beat. Come back in the house. He stopped on a second and passing right back. We're gonna do three of the fires. I threw away so much rhyme because I wrote the rhymes to the beat. So I'm mad. I'm mad at this dude. So uh like Grace Lapious was of course the street. So I go down I go down there, and I remember that's
Punt's favorite ship. So I just hit point when he's on a two way or something like yo, you know, we were a course free from Grace Vapious. So the punt is an idiot. He fucking I never said comes from grace for pious. I just said, you know, just you know, I'll just thinking about you. You know what I'm said, great pious. So when when Nate I come back in and you know, I can see Swiss, he's rest. So Swiss only played this is what happened. Swiss only
played the loop the sample. The actually beat never dropped. So the whole time I got nature in there, and it's a vibe. I know this nigga now, So it's a vibe if he's feeling something he liked, if he's feeling something up. So he didn't do that for three beats. I don't told him this is a this is I think in my mind like doing a little coming on like the rider anthems. And I'm like, no, you don't like and he's like, you know, I'm wrong. But the band from TV came on and he just jumped up
because he walked to the corner. And that's the moment I walked out. I said, he got this. I said that the yalla's back on to y'alla and I went and subconsciously I see plun I said, I told you I was by grade capires like I didn't even bite you. I'm thinking that record. I'm thinking that record. What's just gonna be me and him. I'm taking me, gonna go back and forth, right, So I lay a verse. He walks out the room. I feel good about this verse. I lay a verse right, and then I go home.
He has he has paper, he has rhymes on the paper already. Yes, I'm gonna just take this home. Money. You know, I'm gonna fix it. I'm gonna get it right, you know what I mean. So I'm like, alight, cool, he gonna go do what he do. Yes, records, all these guys are all the pros, right when you know, like I said, I got you, I wanted to change. Yeah. Hell, he's called me for months. I want to change my verse. And they heard and they started me. They got me. I was on. I was just doing that. This is
not exactly this is exactly what that from TV. And I'm glad and Jada and God bless me, wish we had punt here in camp. But take the same thing. What happened was like I said, I didn't like the smell of cigarettes. I love smoking cigarettes. I didn't like the smell and we we go on the d We were the guys that when met him and Jungle only brothers came out. Yeah yeah, yeah, that's the only time
Chill anyway leave. But this time I was like, you know what, fucking I went down stair in smoking Bowl game when I've seen, like I said, I've seen Grape of Pies. I just gave Pun what was considered a text back then. I think it's a two way page like bo pary Pies. I'm thinking there's seven Grape of Pies in the city. I'm not thinking he's gonna narrow down to the point that we're the real one. D f y. So as Nake starts to feel it, he's correct, I've walked out. When I walked out, I've seen Punt.
I was like, oh shit, But like he's like, I'm thinking he just came to a grape pies that was it. So I'm like, all right, cool, my LECTI lady went back upstairs seeing Nate and I was like, yo, you know what I'm gonna get to this wanted to beat I was ready for. I had three other rhymes, but they were not One of these ships was to this beat. For that one. So I listened and I was like, damn, you know I can't poke with this right now. So I did tell Nick yo one love late left. I
did not know Poe was coming coming. It comes up. He got his own food, butdget no, we're not closing the studio session. So I'm like, okay, go down the bowl. It's the fastest Puny verse I've ever seen lady in my life because pun usually take hours. But I guess like he wanted to spa with us. He poked us so fat. So I came back and I was like, yo, I tell the story mentowns. I'm gonna tell it again. And I was like, yo, yo, this record is for
me a nature man. This is some crazy ship. And pun looked at me like you're gonna race ever too. So I'm like, that's like you're ever racing her verse. He listen to me again. He goes, come on, look at me face the first you go to race that verse pork chops and apple saut Do you want something like how yeah? Your engineer he loosened to the engineer. The engineers like he recorded actually is like you know you're not gonna make me deleted. He couldn't be recorded,
so that so okay. Then Cam is that night, right, Bama TV. Fun can and they can, and then that's the only people we got. The next day Cam. I forget why Cam was downtown. I don't know. I just called to me, called me, or maybe Punk Carder was like, yo're stupid with Norman Cas like he's racing versus Come on, they all with you at that time, and I was, but I was like, fun the fresh you know, you know what I'm doing the whole time, writing a hook to it. I'm like, cool, didn't have no hope. I'm
writing a hook to it. And I'm like damn. I'm like the way Nature ended this ship pause and Pun just jumped on it, and I'm like damn. And I know I can't send this ship to Swiss because I know he he he wants to certainly he's hooking cool. Then Cam came that night. This is the only awkward moment was I had to get Jada and Styles the next day. Yeah, and I didn't know which one was which. And this is crazy because I'm very close to Styles
right now. I always tell the story I gave Styles Weed, and this is the time no one smokes personally, he don't pass back. He didn't passed. He didn't so I was like, oh my god, this guy up and but it was history. But that's the thing was banned from TV. Wouldn't have been done if I'm leaving, wouldn't have been secured. And if you would have hated it or me I said, or just said not even hated you gotta said studio,
that's not even hate. Like at the end of the day, if you would have said, you don't disrespect you know, norm ain't your book tomorrow like I would have had to have been like, I don't let me big up, pig you up. You could have been like, man, you know what, this is my time. You know what I'm saying. You got a War Report album, Get the fucking prom out of here, like I mean, in the better way you could have said it, just let me have my
day and tomorrow you know I come. You were just like yo, I called the vibe and you didn't stop it. For that, I will always be thinking I'm old brothers. Like I said, I will always be thankful interview. But I will always be thinking just saying, you know, I knew that if I ever did this interview due to the fact that me and is stories are sold in the twine. You know what I mean. No matter what if if Sun said the buildings on fire, I'm coming with the holes. That's just how it goes. But I
ain't gonna lot though. You remember the time me and now I stole your record. Yeah, I came in there. I came in, I had a session. I walked in the session. Him and Nas have damn the three piece on my beat, and so so I'm like, get the funk out of here. First I left. I left. The guys are going there going hard on my after versus on my joint. I leave the studio, you know, And then they said, Yo, you gotta find a way on this record record. By this time they go, they traded shot.
So I had to take one of Nas and one oft get me. Rick, I would tell the story a little bit better. I got you, but it was my sens rights your brother. You know what I'm saying, because because I'm I'm I'm moving around with these guys. You know what I'm saying. And at the same time, you know, these guys are younger than me, but they're making their own lane. They're making their lane every time they're making their own land, and they just took my beat. Lets
stop lap, let's just stop laughing. Maybe maybe I can three verses a piece, was like original, I should gonna be got six verses of me like it's like fighting so well that it was again like no, because I ain't gonna lie. I gotta give this a regime up, Steve Stout. NAS track masters when it was an album were supposed to dedicate a whole energy to the album. You know that was that was it? So so what appum was? I just felt like Nate was just he was just didn't want to work that night. But me
and NAS didn't even come to work that night. We just came to like chill. But then it's be play it's called and it was fucked up because me and I've never said that to each other at all. It was just a virgo ship. He looked at me. I looked at him. I was like, I wrote four balls already he was and they got but we was waiting for you to get tired to you like they got y'all gonna see yall to the mall type ship bro left right. What I'm saying that I think it's when
you leave as the sign and every day. But we just looked like they're gonna keep it going. Just don't worry about the sign. I think it was me. If you look at the regular I think I'm the one of the first sentator, So sorry name if I think it was me. And and now I just looked at me, like what, and I said. We just kept going. And then the next day he was in the studio. Day was the It was amazing. Let's make a look at me,
don't right? You know what I'm saying. Like I said, we didn't realize what were building, but we had guys that was basically creating in lane for me, showing me what was supposed to be. That's why twenty years later, motherfuck, we're still broken about it. You can laugh about it. It might be little things that I remember, the little things that he remember. You know. By then, the day I know that if anybody got my back, I got
my back. Now I know the answer to this, but for lack of a m you know, the Nazis dropped the album. This album, I forget the name of the record, but want to ask, can you explain to the people. I know the answer, but can you explain to people? I mean, I don't necessarily know the answer. I know that it was it's his call. We're growing, we make records that we want to do. At the time when
he was doing, he was wanted to do. UM. I didn't get the call, and I understand that I wasn't a part of the original from that's that's not a part of the original firm talk. So I don't get mad. I would prefer not to have got the call, then to have laid some dope bad ship and heard that yo, they took you off your or some crazy ship. So anytime, any time, anytime my guys strike, we strike. So I have no choice but to be happy because we're Rocket's
Queen's bridged back on the map again. You know what I'm saying. It's all kinds of things like that. I don't know what's what, what what happens from this day forward, but I'm not to do that walks around better because when you win, I win because our stories, our time we're together, we're all together, were fact that you see that. Yeah, I can't go I can't tell you what to do with you. It's a business, Calle, This is a business.
So at the end of the day, I'm happy for Mega because Mega didn't get the chance to do nothing. You know what I'm saying, none of that ship. And that's my nigger, like for real, for real, I love a shout the Fox, shout to all that. But we all come from the same so we shouldn't be fucking you know what I mean. So I don't know what happens or what they're thinking about doing. Hopefully they're thinking about making bigger music in the future. But for me, I got music. I got my niggas, I got you
know what I'm saying. I got my team. I've been teamed up with my dude, so you know, we got about you know what I mean. I got my dude, Men's I got DCM, I got all kind of dudes. I got my dude. You know, we got nonprofit ship. I got my man in large amount. We got we're doing ship, you know what I mean. We're doing things we do we got to do. Like, yeah, we got last we got nonprofit ship going on on on on. I think I told a temption said that, Yo, we
got sneaker, sneaker give out. You know, we're giving sneakers out to the kids to all kind of stuff up for the community, all of that, you know what I mean. So we've grown, you know what I mean. We we got grades and all that, but we were we got the great head games. This is that question I bring Alcalou on that. You remember Prodigy got high, my studio fell out and fell as like yo, you know, check it out. God bless even want me to talk about
this story. Yeah, one day was in the studio, was just me, him in Prodigy and just you know, shout out and shout out to Prodigy rest in peace and just just front of me and probably staying in back and we're smoking and having a good time. And that one I kept hitting up with that one. Yeah, he kept the cups. He's gonna be the record out of it. Do right, it's me you and me? Right? Is it the record? Yeah? What's it called? Cold Bloody Killer? Cold
Bloody Killers are bringing out gonna have it. Ship with Dope, ship bro, super ship Sons with us, hang Hang, shout out my nigga men a shot out, Nino, shout out on the large amount shot shout out track, everybody's shouting out, Sunday shot out, motherfucker ready shot out, come on, sit down, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, let's do it. I didn't realize because he didn't take the mask. I didn't know with you hanged gave me a pink everything I'm going,
Could they be here? Remember that time he was in the studio, um and it was it was you and it was shakes, but it was shaks. I know. I mean, I remember one time I pulled up on two fifth and he was just in the car, lay back like this with the windows down, poking, blump like what they remember. Yeah, yeah, I see. I used to bump into you a little and stuff because I moved like that, moved like that. I used to be like because scram put me onto these Yes, we're back, motherfucking in the flesh. We got
the motherfucking legends. Man, I ain't gonna lot of this guy when you talk about he's been down, been here, been around and still doing it and not going. No motherfucker where we got alcalog houck. They don't be assassins. I finally made it. Yeah, I sell a vista, so yo, you've been like when I asked sometimes I asked, I tell people the different errors they've been involved with, Like you've been involved with Everyone's like when did you get started in this game? Well, you know as a kid.
You know, my godfather Jose used to run above of reggae shop on Picking and Rockaway called Soul Shock. It's a very legend date New York. Yes, that's my godfather's spot. Yes, Russ and Jose if you know them, I was, that's my godfather. So I used to be in there, like yo, see big Daddy Canes. That's a signic rock him. It was like family, it will all be there everybody Russells sentence, everybody like be at that shot? Literally did you have to even the six something? Now? But that's that's that's
some real Daddy came. I mean, I'm just thinking about the artist, Like Daddy came into the roughest hoods and everyone likes the Browns. I'm from brown Yeah, I'm from Brownsfield, Big Daddy. Everybody have a move my solo. I'm Sean Price rest Seance And we were kids, you know, we played in the sand box. That's how I met and we traded. Corlico Castriges really liked yeah vision, Yeah yeah, yeah. He was I didn't have vision go on his house, and he was a kid who was a dream that
I didn't have all the carts. So I used to like trade you know what I'm saying with Don, He's like, Yo, let your this one. Now, you let me that. That's how I met him. But hip hop was always in my family's music. No town all that, you know, like you know, just you know, that was like the thing like in the neighborhood. You know, you go to block parties and childen and saying dyke, you know what I'm saying, and you see the DJ's come out my neighborhood from Brooklyn.
I'm from East New York Brown. I think the world thought was born that's Brooklyn. It was not until we got a propoc city broken. I'm part of the people. Got to learn that. I know. I know I go from with Mike Tyson, Shannon Briggs from where from from? That's my people's old about this Champion block that's so sick Champ. I went just with Ship the Brigs two
days ago and that's my brother. So, like I said, I you know, just to fast forward with nature just said, you know a lot of people know you from the Purple City thing, you know what I'm saying. So, how did you go from like being a Browns reel do to messing purpose? When I moved to the Bronx, my, you know, I had like a crave up there with my little studio. And then that's when I was working
with Shawn Price and we um. You know, I had like this little deal with Game Records Jonathan Scheckter this after yeah, yeah, yeah, that's just like when I became atalog. You know, God reinvent yourself in the Chicks on the on the on the cover of the Voteles. Yeah, I was gonna do a reinventional stage. And then me and Sean started doing these little songs together, you know what I mean. He asked me to give him some beats.
He started collaborating, and the next thing you know, he um put out on monkey Bars and one song on it was called Rises to the Top. That song was on Grand That photo three was so over seventeen me. Hold on, I'm on that soundtrack to the video game. You know they made um that's the first time they
it was. He was able to end the rack and like, you know, go outside the storylines and beat somebody up and do you know you know, you know, so when they had so when they had the when they made the soundtrack, they had to look for hip hop artists and him and me. If you look at it right now, you buy the game right now. My name is on it and his name is on it too. Let me ask you, let me see what it up to you back to it's crazy that treat you really on it? Um,
all right? The first album was All Seasons. Yeah, for all Seasons, baby, All Seasons. Now, that was the album he was working on the Bisville all that was. Yeah, that's my very first album. Um, what had happened, you know, because it's sorry to be on that note already, but um, yeah, the album came out in two thousands. But what had happened was the album was finished in so a lot of the so a lot of the songs that came
out on the album were actually heard already. They were they were they wound up on mixtapes without the choruses on them, and and and you know, I understand that the game was kind of a little little tricky. It was tricky. So when we put the album out, the songs was already two years old. And so I'm trying to convince the people that it's just dope, and um.
We had a lot of problems when it came down to create my first album because it was sample clearances, it was, it was, it was songs that was released premature, it was, it was. It was a lot of you know, crazy ship. So when we put the album out, it was already fighting the battle because the songs had already been heard and some of the songs that I was banking on was either wasn't cleared or they was released
or whatever. So so we went from you know, sugar the ship that fast, and went from and went from being this guy that they you know, projecting to be the guy to hold on that dropping the album that we heard already and we said the time like he was better with the games. It was very very very well now about the game with the guys that were kind of I was dealing with. I didn't understand, you know, being able to deliver on time and to to to
then it was the business. So I over recorded. I recorded like maybe two albums were from material and some ship wasn't clean and some ship was played already and it was different versions of things. It was a lot of problems when it came down to the mind. So when it finally did land, it was like, hey, I heard just already. It was a lot of a lot of the hype had died down. So it's kind of dating exactly, and so you know we ran into that type of ship. But it was it was you got
you ever the time. It was just bit old, just like you know one question. The one thing that problem that was a problem for me when it came down to that was being a current event kind of guy, being shock class. Let's go, yeah, you give me one what you know. The problem the problem that came with that was like since I was like a current event kind of guy, if I waited too long, it got too old. You got too old. You gotta talk. You got certain because that that was that was serious. That
was the key to your ship. Like you you were talking about like like like certain things that happened to the balls. So if you got we spend pep. So that was the problem when it came down the same dates and saying certain ships. So you know that that was my ship. I had to learn that. You know, that was cool. This guy right here when you shot that we're gonna don't get your shot shot Booze Brothers, what up. I'm gonna keep you one hundred. But you don't know me, no, like you know me like I
come from that demo tape era. You know, you know when you know, just like you know you got me. I never stopped fighting. The industry is like some kind of different brotherhood now and I never stopped fighting. That just what my aunt showed me some equipment whatever it is ntc whatever that was. He was one of those guys that make the beach. And I'm gonna it's a competition at the same time for me, and I'm gonna
try to, you know, get it in with you. I'm gonna either calling at you, I'm gonna trying to check you off there. That's where about. And I feel like, you know, I learned that from you know. It's being you know, like you know, shot to Todder for shotting me out on here, shout to Connelly. They know me, they know how I used to be out there waiting a battle. You waiting, You're waiting for you at the end of the stage, and I was hungry cat even with dots effects, you know, like I used to see them.
You know at O G. I remember at O G. You know what I'm saying, Like in a bulldog. I remember one times at Cherley City and he was at the Boys Club and I was like black stage, wait just you know, hungry, little kid, little kid, a little kid, you know what I'm saying, And I just wanted to get on you take the hip hopa take it this fall. Yeah something, It's been my dream something since I've been
a kid. It's been my dream. Used to used to when Talleng shows of my home, He's like shout the top dollar from Brownsville, like like like he was in Puerto Rican To be clear, Yeah, I mean that's a culture, that's not a race. I'm African. My great great grandmother African. He you know, that's a whole another story. But feel me, I am here. You know, I am who my ancestors are. You know what I mean, we all who are ancestors are.
And that's probably the most deepest thing I can say right now, because you know, all this is instill didn't be trying to just trying to make something good out
of it. You know, a kid from the ghetto, kid I never had nothing, you know, and I realized, like then so many of us come from that, you know what I'm saying, and shout the Cavia dreams because you know, you don't care that the whole left that that that's that's that's one of my inspirations right there, because he took me in when I had no brothers, nobody, you know, we just street dudes, and you know, like you know, I come from that knowledge, wisdom understanding that one twenty
you know what I'm saying, Like that righteous moment in your life when you ain't really got nobody and you gotta find that solution. And there's a lot of people out you're hurting right now. So I'm trying to be that good inspirational obspiration. Whatever I can't do, be that greatness in each other's lives because I did it for PMB. You know when you broke up with E. P. M. D. I wand up making rough rugg in the row form.
You know what het in to deal with relativity for a million dollars a lot of positive y in the room. So you said, you said you did MD what he broke up with. Yeah, I've stepped in as the producer and wind up coming in and started producing because it was the main producers. I was producing with Onyx at first, That's what I wanted to talk about doing the beat. After after they felt out with shot skills. God bless your dad, because y'all have get the flamm and all that.
I wind up working on last days any vocals. I mean I I was supposed to be signing, honest, I was. I was bounding everybody for them, but at the end of the day, it was like politics with def Jam and them and God blessed depth Dad, J M J. You know, it just happened to me a couple of area arenas because I felt like I was just you know, the bones Malone. You know who he is, Bones bloone, shot the bone baloone. He said, yo At, he made a lot of these dudes great. You got on eight
teams and made them great. He was like, I don't know, compare myself to a player that got traded a couple of teams. You know what I'm saying. But like in the NBA stat style of speaking, you know, I've been on a couple of great teams like the Lakers. You know what I was like, I think to be able to wrap and I got him. I got him the championships on his own. You're able to oh yeah, we can't do that. But but the able to be a producers different, you know? And that's you know what I mean?
Because I could DJ too. So when you make himples for yourself, do you never think about another producer? Or yes, I work with everybody I can at the accessible moment, if I could reach out to you and I got a vibe because me, you know, we all get weird care at the table. How many of us, even though we love hip hop and we dedicated our life to hip hop, can do hip hop in the house? Can't do hip hop in the house? Well let me you
mean by like a house, like, yeah, I can't. I can't dumb and let me tell you something right and still make hipps the way it's supposed to be in the house or what do we need each other? Buster? It is a good example because he is able to not let himself like I think he gotta. He don't even work with older artists. He works with younger artists so he can stay young. You gotta gotta understand the game now, like you gotta. You can't use yesterday's times
to win it. You know you can't use yesterday's Memphis to winners today times excuse me, and I get him. I mean, whatever works for you works for you. But if you're in the crib and you got your pro to set up, man utilize because a lot of dudes in Africa that's doing way less than they're doing, and they're doing them how. I just look at me as a person like, look, I used to beat box and wish I had a drum machine. I'm the same dude that's still beat boxing. You want to you don't say
one of your biggest records, Ghetto Girl? What's your biggest record? Oh? Man, I got a lot of big records. I mean as a wrapper, yeah. Problem. Well, Ghetto Girl was like my you know, my record that but industry made. It was not what I mean hold on period. It was something that they wanted me to be that I didn't want
me to become. It was one of those moments where it was like, oh, this is the record that we're ready to put the dollars behind and I was like, well, I thought you wanted to put it behind the album to trick me. See they trick you. They made you think you a star. Then they did you didn't get your album and then they're like, oh, like, we want to push this sick. They don't want to push the album. They want to push what's gonna make money for them. I didn't know that at the time. I was very
very young when I signed that deal. Out eighteen labels came from me through my source mag magazine um unsigned hype like it was like it was like, oh ship grown, I'm like property round, I'm property now because because because the magazine put me in the unsigned hype column. Now old eight scene label Pommy Door, Warner Brothers, Tommy Boy. I went with Tommy Boy, and I should have never did that. On my first sign with with Monica Lench, I signed with them and that was the biggest mistake
I ever man in my life. Know what, he's nothing. And then I got back on my grind, released me back on my grind. Then a lady uh signed me. Oh yeah, Sylvia Rohne signed me to East West and that's when I wass gettle girl. And then I was resurrected one year later. How the funk You're gonna get dropped and get a deal later? You know what I mean? I was I would think a lot. I think I love because you gave me another chance. Know that you know I didn't because let me tell you something about
this industry. It's way it's way too you know you look at you look at the game or prior artists, look at all Michael Jackson and anybody else's career that came before me, who got us here, who we sampled and ship, what they had to go through. You think I'm grateful that I had to go through this ship because they went through way worship ship and I had to. We're gonna all go through shipness and you know his house, dude,
that's how you you you you you show up. You don't gotta live on other people's means in this game. Who who made you part of the who made you feel like he was accepted? Nobody wanted wanted you in the game at the first place, because you know, you look at hip hop when it first started. Ain't want this ship. This ship was a fat f a d that ain't gonna last. They used to say, this ship wasn't gonna last. Remember that real hip hop Like I'm a like a rock and roll artist at the same time,
but they say this ship wasn't gonna last. Come on, let let's take a let's take a shot, and Mama wanted to take take take you. I said the same thing. Did you ever feel like you were black ball? And come on, you wanna drink champs as well? No? I didn't. I never felt I was a black ball. Um, I'm you know, I'm a different und to due with. I salute dude from the back. I'm champion. I'm like, yo, let's go, let's win. We're winning no matter what. It's not a really numbers game with me. Um, But I
do felt that. I do feel that it was a time since I was dealing with what I was dealing with and the people I was there with that. You know, it's kind of hard when you're dealing with a bigger artist, when you're dealing with an artist that guys that you know, we're just so happened to be linked to somebody that's considered to be one of the Tope sept seas like like like, yeah, it's not like it's some side ship right now. But I want to. I want to. I
want to give you the opportunity. Man, I don't want to. You got the opport to listen to me. You're my man. I haven't spoke his son in um like twenty years. I mean, I mean, I'm gonna get the honey. You're my man. I know that that's your man. You know what I'm saying. You have the opportunity to call him right now. You know what I'm saying. He doesn't owe me no explanation, no apologies, no nothing would you do with business, is honey? I keep it a hunted with me.
I'm not a better dude. You gave me the alley. You my nigger of a life time. I still get money from what you we did want to Yes, I'm gonna keeping a haunted Can we bring can we bring it back? Let me take the opportunity to do a lot of things. You can do a lot of things. So I'm not the type of person that's I'm not gonna chase you because I'm still doing music, i still have a family, i still have a life. I'm right my fact. I'm okay. Trust me, it's not about that.
And you don't only no no, no, no, no nothing. You know what I'm saying. What you do when you win, I win because our story is just tied together. When you win, I win. You know what I'm saying. When you take ahead, I take a head. He said. Let me ask you that what was because if you call my now, what would the answer. I don't know. We're gonna put this end of this right now. Listen to in the moment because no one understands the mega thing we understood because I felt like you took a shot
man right let me outside look at it. At the end of the day, I'm insider, but I'm always an outside of because that's your hood, that's y'all ship. So what was the problem? Like I never really knew. Let me tell you something. Um when it came down to being real ship, I don't walk around better and I'm not like I said, what you do is what you do right for the past due to the factory from the same hood, people knows that there's always a little
something more than with probably being shown. You know what I'm saying. I don't hold no brudgets. But it wasn't the beginning. I felt that I don't even keep with a hunting. I think what I was supposed to do. I try to hold it down and try to glue ship together and do what I was supposed to do. But in the beginning, UM, I never felt that it was a hundred percent on my side. Anyway, if you look at the actual cover of the front album, I was never really show I'm like kind of blur it out.
It was. I don't know. I don't think that I was good. I was supposed to be or I was supposed to actually affect people. But I mean, I'm hip hop. At the end of the day, I'm never going away ever needed me. I mean we could sit down and talk back the end of the day that I don't think the business was set up straight, and I think the hood ship could kind of get wiped away at twenty years. It's twenty years at the end. I don't walk around trying to fucking throw dirt the name and
when I went, we come from the same. It will never change. It's beautiful. It's beautiful, you know what I mean. It's not like when and when Sun dropped and when they dropped the album and they did the thing. It's not like they took shots to me and then I respect, I respect. I wanted that ship and I'm really happy from Cold Mega to fucking do with eight million dollars because if we didn't go that way ever heard of me?
Meant it for a second, it didn't go and give me the opportunity of a lifetime to do what I do. We brothers, we go through. Do I make senver tying? You got talking girl up to the day, I don't. I don't work around. I'm supporting it. If you win, I win. Come on, brother, let's go. Because we always talked about toys. We always talked about money that could have been made. You could have shut of water. And I think at the end of the day, it's not too many pieces that's missing, you know what I mean.
I'm here, I'm telling you. People are a lot of people gonna watch this, you know what I mean. A lot of people gonna watch this, you know I mean. And so whatever whatever, if the cold get made, if it don't get made, I'm good. I'm still gonna make music. Check me out, you know what I mean. Twenty years and a lot of ship. Ain't no love of loss, you know what I mean. That's importantly, that's the most important thing about because you don't saying what we trying
to say. Because even me and not even when he sat here, you know, we just didn't avoid our discrepancy, like you know what I'm saying. This is what I'm saying. So I was just trying to say, what was it? Like, you don't say, you don't even that it was amazing ship. You could put your finger on it and say, this is what happened. Because I love niggas like brothers. You know what I'm saying. We were brothers were born, and that's what's said. You know what I mean. I lost
my mom's you know what I mean. You know what I mean. But me and John used to hang out in the cred We used to be in his mom's crid. We smoke, me, drink whatever whatever when that that was then, And so if you don't talk about it, you don't have to talk about it. It happened. These are my dudes. I'm grateful for the position that I was put in. This gave me the alley you for life, for life. But I'm gonna they don't have to necessarily be a sad story. I hate when they can talk about it's
nothing to talk about me. But I'm going on, what's what's happening. He's still here, still follow me. That's why it's actually got an album out today called the Guards right now see that yall. That's y'all got here. Yeah, fair shows. I love the cameras. It's my naked right here. Show me cracks the biggest in the game. This is
my naked right here. You crack. You promised me. I ain't gonna talk about it right now, going to blow up, blow up up three Tis said blow yeah, you know what I mean, be down, Come on, goddamn crack, Come on baby. If you would do to this show, even though it'll give us credit, not real, we would do this show, you'll get credits. Crack. I don't want to shoot on two Yankee shot on too, and my tis anyone Tis Money said out he's my brothers right here.
I met a little. He's been actual showing sneak showing. Mandy's been good man sneaking right in the game. Ain't showing man sneaking. Shot Fat Joe like they're cracking. Oh God, cracking a win yo. I love you, my bro, yeah, saying something I don't put up baby, love you, baby, I see you're like he showed like seven pens and sneaking just feel shok track crack crack, yo, But yo, I know I think that ship. I know anybody over in, you know, like on the person level, now the industry level,
and that's why it's good. You know, shout to my car evident. You know, I go back. You know she had lection out here to the nation and the brothers Dope Dope DJ man Maker check them out. How someone that just showed up the drink Champce because y'all just like keep the keep it RELI than what the word it means, like I just keep going in. You'll just keep going in. And you know we love that bro
hip hop. You know, I don't let go. I gotta throw out the next to nature next to you talking about ship that y'all went through, and I can't let you do that in first you know, my girl, Oh but something say something anyway, I just want to say. Let me just say something. The ship that you contributed to hip hop alcohol eid off Man and thank you.
You know, it's unrecognizable, man, it's recognizable. What I mean the man like when I'm in it's unrecognizable with the with the with the with the faith and me just looking at you and your face and your eyes and how much it's the same way hip hop. That's the thing is like, we don't we don't like about you know, the numbers and all that is great, you know what
we're calling we care about representing hip hop. I got some more spade um, you know what we care about representing hip hop or keep telling the stories of hip hop and just keeping just keeping that ship. And it's great that this is our arrow is my Yeah, I never got an alcohol beat. You was Hollywood at one point. I'm no, it was sad. I didn't you give me a yea? We got that like a dozen nunstand one beat. I walked to this to day he picked it. But yeah,
I called it. I said, I said, hold and no, I ain't even want the bread now, captain trying to make us get to work. I don't worry. I got you. You know you don't know, damn well, let me ask, let me ask nature. So now what did you know? It's because we got Bromance, Yes from the y'all. Y'all now wild Brimlance. That's that's still on the major as well. Now that was independent. That was that was like, yo, we're no longer on a major label. Let me trying
to deliver something independent. But I had my dudes all around me because when the first album, I didn't really have features. I had one feature which was was NAS. You know what I'm saying. I had NAS and at that time, what the song ultimate hum track masters? But let me ask, let me ask as a fan. I swear to god, this is not in a r E. When the first album came out and it was just that was it? It was just NAS? Was that something
track masters told you that's all your need is NA? NA. I was kind of reading and turned into let me know what I'm talking about someone. I just wanted to be everybody what I'm saying, thinking about answering this because tell the truth. This is like you know I first of all, what's that song? Don't protect nobody start to no one about the numbers that was spent. I was kind of tight. The budget, Yeah, the budget right, the budget part changes one thing, which is your records. Let's
just everybody understand what's going on. What it's having a re forecast. That's the word refecast. I love the forecast with the refecast that made you run outcast was the podcast that made you run out? And we boecasts that have to read budget what you're doing. That's that's the
second mortgas. That's the second mortgat. The budget that didn't want you to tell this reason you think about the budget days will spend re forecasting, we recreate it, and we'll make a whole other budget for the budget for the new vision. Every forecasting a couple of times that might always went green basically ran out, and you always want green. Green's son. I sat there and watched the funk, and I got a piece of paper that told me that I owed one point something million times only showed
me that you're going too fast. Let's all right, what happened to say again? When I finished re forecast and had a kid new money, that means that that means all the days that we sat all the days that we sat there, and all let's say, all the days that we sat there and smoking drunk and probably rented studio equipment that didn't finish the record, and we had food budgets, and we had entourages, and we had the
whole ship. Showed me, you have this bill that says you owe one point something million dollars all commerces in the right places, and you're saying to yourself, how because it's mad days. I'm going home. I'm like pitt Off, I got a quite new how you knew? We knew because people weren't raping the budget. I'm being honest. This is what I gotta pick up. Tragedy could trash trash, tragedy could dicty traded us pause sounded crazy, but I didn't know. You know, don't play what studio times, don't
play around with it. So we was like what. So we would go in the crib we were sitting there and be like, yo, all right, this is the b alright, cool, yeah, I think it's right to that being poem would sit there right to the whole ship. So by the time we came to the student, we would knock it out. And I knew this because of that studio budget, you're not going into it. This is what I said, one thing, one way, then they don't finish. I got you, I
got problems. But so I was like what. And at first I used to be like why we gotta practice and rehearse because that's what it was the mentality back then. And let me tell you something, I respect that ship. I've never been a has studio, but I recorded seven records because I don't know how to play with studios top, but I'm sorry, which was about to say, can I can I get one question? Let me get him and then we come right back to you. I promise you.
But we're rocking you. You got your motherfucker's you wrote to you? Baby, were watching you looking good. I recorded this album that I did for track matters for all seasons without having any brahms written. That means this whole album was recorded on the spot. As we go in the studio and smoke some weed. We're recording the classic album without any without you, no week one point. I'll tell you. If you I'll tell you what your bud it was seven hundred thousands. First of alerted you were
spending plenty of nights out. We spend plenty of nights having soldio back smash. We haven't we have a right track. We're having yips, we're having fucking monks when we have to what we're spending over money. We haven't spending all kind of money. So um, we were tragedy. He told not to spend up. What I'm saying is thank the tragedy, Thank you tragedy, thank you. The labels weren't fleeting your costs.
On top of that, it's a stipulation. It's a stipulation in my contract to say that I'm signed to I'm signed to producers, So it's a stipulation of my contract is saying that I have to have a certain amount of beats from the same producers that that signed me, so I get the money, and having to pass the money off to the same people that gave me the money.
Come the love, I'm gonna take care God. I got the money, and it's a stipulation that I have to pass some of his money back to the same people that I got it from after they charged any charging back charging a thousand of beat. The same people that work with Will Smith and Mariah Carry and nays and did you write Kobe Bryant smiles and when it was doing Kobe, they're doing Kobe Bryant. They're doing to the circuits Kobe. No, I didn't get one. I don't get one,
but I'm around. You got you got a copy though, but I'm around. I don't think he has one. Went with can't fill last ship. That's my ship, Shine. That is the name of the record, right, Yes, you've forgotten, but shout out to the people that forget the record that got we got pa ship take going for the team. We do what we do and we still keep pushing. You know what I'm saying, and we're here. It's all of stories. So my drink Champs could go five hours, but we didn't here for that. In between both I
could drink I support. I don't drink out of I don't want to do something like that support because I can't take take you get the things that I can't do us. But I'm going, I'm saying, but you know, no, no, I think yeah, I don't see an album five songs right now? Has it his studios? Has gonn right now. I came to Miami yesterday and since I've been in Miami, I probably shot like five videos. That's the way to see that should have been happening. The next day I
shot five is you don't do that number? Let me ask, Let me ask you. I got to ask you. Get it done. I got straight up to ask you. As a Carol O. The rumor was there could be anybody lyrically, anybody that nys to get on the record wood Speed the lyrically still, but I gotta ask any time before,
like nature was lazy a lot of times. Stuff for this the name, that's the that's the that's the theory about me because like I said, due to the fact that I wasn't coming to the studio where pre prepared songs and rhymes, it might take me a minute to write these rhymes in the studio. So this so because because it might took a minute to write this record, they might say nature's lazy. It's not that the nature's lazy,
it's just the nature's home situation. It's not really good as far as blocking everything out and and diving into this music. You know, it's not that's not that's not what it is. So but when it comes down to the music, you put me in the room with the best, I become the best. Become the best. You have a freestyle before you ever liked just one of just not one of those guys that's in the circle. Because I felt that I did it for so long by asking the question, do you have a freestyle? If you feel
like your brother have seen, can you freestyle? No? You know what it was for me. I've been in the ring, not the ring, but I've been around the best, the goats the best going to the lad and it's fitting it. But how about just having already Yeah, jay Z supposedly right now that comes eminem that's the same thing. You might lay four boss. You got studio time, and you know you're sitting the studio smoke good. You're gonna you're
gonna late four at the time. Some So No, let me tell you something because even if I sat at the crib and I pre rote it, I thought it was dope. Once it's time to perform, it is a different kind of ship, bro. It's like playoffs. It's like what's your favorite to perform, favorite record to perform? Yeah, you gotta be bad TV around right now. I can make a round right now. But that's not what I'm
gonna do. But I can make a round right now off my head channel with you, sitting at the table with you, and you know what I mean to make the round. Let's see. Let's look. Look, I'm gonna drink Chians next nature. I ain't gotta Rachel, I ain't gotta hate you. I just drink. That's in my nature. Nigga's open bottles to say hate the stage, y'all. Hell, you got it. Oh, I wanted. I wanted you. If it's about it's about that hunger. You know, you can have that history, you know what I mean? But look look at the Lakers le bronze semon teen. Yeah they beat them young boys. Yeah, you know I watched How do young boys act against
the legends? Yeah that dog. Let me tell you something, Ben from TV, little shot Being from TV, I love this little chippy love Yet I'm gonna keeping. I'm gonna keep it on keeping, I'm gonna keep it on it. Being from TV is like a perfect reminder that there are niggers out there that you don't know that can

This is what I want. Hey, Boddy, I need I need anybody to understand this, right head. I come from Brownsville, but I met this man his problem when he was a superstar, biggest superstar and rapping,
one of the biggest superstars and rappank. Remember when you did Super Doug and we was in I think we was in Miami at the time, and you was on tory. You had one that you got one last T shirt that said super Doug on it, and that was a whole chore and and I remember that day when you got out the stage and everybody like what what what what? What? What? What? What? What? What? What?
What what? And that was just like in the crowd kept doing that ship and it was just like, you know, I leave the energy and I got to witness that you know what I mean? And man, I'm let me ask you something though, this is your this is your this is your day. It's not my day. No, what's your favorite and hip hop? I just wouldn't say that's your favorite hip hop? Hip hop? What's your favorite moment? If you could we live any moment of hip hop?

tell you, guys, and ain't you need for me? And but let me keep finis to figure you out, and let me just tell you something like you, you're supposed to be respect. You're supposed to be a red carpet beat because not only as an artist, you're not only dominating ship as an artist and did certain things an artist, but you're also transitioned to a producer. And then and then you and you did as we do so and the nature the same thing. It's like, yo, bro, you
were just throwing in the marsh pit. You don't know what fund you got. You were placing this other guy and but she was on your own side. And then you kept going with the wild grimments. You kept you just kept getting for it. And the thing about it. This man, we want to salute y'all. Bro, This's what I'm saying. It's another shot. Time's another shot. Time. We love y'all. So it's been unbelievable that I gotta we gotta survive through this ship and everybody in here salute yourself for surviving throughing and helping everybody wear a mask about to get mask. We got mask, you know what I mean, promoted healthy. I've been a hermit. Everybody always put me in outcasting me until now because I was in the crib cooking up beastly like like you like like nor like. It's like even I wish I could work with nas. I wish I could remix Come King's Disease, which I
get that acapella and called the crib. Someone might hereless and get through that calling the crib. You know what, because a lot of people upset with them beats. I know, I know you. I know what kind of beats you like. I know what kind of it's not. No, it's not about that. Take a little shot. We have shot that kind of beat. You that's a transport shot. Come on, it's about secret over there. But look, everybody ain't gonna like everything. But I know how to paint the picture.
