Every day is

New year Z. That's time for drink Champs. Trick up, motherfuck motherfuck what a good being hopefully for the ship BTC your boy in Oh and what up is d J e f N and his Drink Chess motherfucking militated crazy brol motherfucking some ship. I don't even know what it is. When we are here right now, I want to introduce one of the most genuine people I know and right now when it comes to legends, when it comes to people that are kings in our community, if

you put these guys together, you might get Rihanna. If you get one of the DJs. The DJ is one of the first DJ to break Rihanna not only a part of discoverning them and one of the first people not in Miami I ever heard Rick Ross before in my life was on Hot ninety seven and this man played this. This man has headphones, he got speakers, he got wallets, he got glasses, he got oxygen, he got oxygen. He gives you ambitious. He makes hustlers happy. He makes

street niggas happy. When when when street nigga see him win, they feel like they win. If you had to get ice out in your mouth, you had to go see him. When we talk about media rappers being media, this guy had what they considered the hip hop fight. This guy belongs everybody's mouth. Ruck Mare cannot only out wrap you. We'll get your girl her draws as Wow. I know I know the brothers very humble. I'm gonna say this.

I want to say this. When we talk about the best rappers alive right now, this man is at this table. I knew him on his first album right now. When it comes to journalists, these two brothers right here are the forefront of it. One brother is a goal. The other brothers on his way to be a goal. One brother has been in every magazine from EGO, Trip to five to the X Excel to the Source. The other brother has just landed a multiple Monkey foot Job and MTV,

and he's pushing the culture. People don't cash money records, your money records and don't limit records. God damn it. The one and only. I think he was like the first is like like like R and B gangster singer, like it was, who's going on? He said, Look, I wasn't ready here, wasn't read. What is that you still that your brought up to yourself? Little too? Oh yeah, I'm my sights motherfucker's sound. We'll be calling out my

fishing motherfucker's mother. Hold me, Floyd May, Molly, you don't move, Bunny, jesus me drink chasm. Let's make some noise for Tory mother. I'll to my bus zero makes you beat down all your money? Now now currency, who shall make up three champs alumni? See, we don't know if you know currency, but our show is about bigging up our legends. So many people when you get ten years in this game, they want to tell you that you're washed up. I

want to tell you, but not over here. We want we tell you you have ten years and more that your season, that we understand who you are and we're gonna pick you off. Because in every other culture, in every other culture, their motherfucking praise you when you get old, and ours the only culture that when we get older, it's not even a word called washed up. In fucking rocking bro, they don't even have sure you know what I'm saying. So we're gonna celebrate you tonight. We celebrate who,

We celebrate nis careers. Here you are not only my friend, but your motherfucking legend. Here, you still as the times, you still vibe and you stood there through the good, the bad, the worst, and you are the definition of a loyal nigga. I'm gonna tell your story, tell a story that speak your notes right there. Oh my god. Again,

we like to celebrate our people's careers. There's so many people in this leafe that every time you got ten years and more in this game, they want to say you walk up, they want to say you're old for you, they want to say you've done but he had drink chance. We celebrate your life, We celebrate your career, we celebrate your accolades, we celebrate what you do. We celebrate you being six seven niggas in one movie. And this is what we're gonna do. Goddam well, A Little, We celebrate you.

We celebrate you by cell pig on your living, killing you, making you old because we trate you. That was terrible. That's her ain't so bad. I want you to That's why we set up this format because we want to get people their flowers while they hip and wanted that

people to know and we appreciate it. Like I really look at hip hop like superheroes, like I can really live off for hip hop, like for real, like for real, Like I'm one of those guys, like I've really probably never listened to a whole other genre of album, Like you know what I mean, because I'm not I'm that insane. But I want you to know that that I nor because I'm alive, You're gonna keep hip hop alive. You know what I'm saying. Ah, yes, you've seen that bad.

You're Jamaica, Jamaica. You know this is a room staring the whole of Little but he's held down the whole label then had a whole career. I feel like he's like the hip hop Michael Jackson, Like I'm you doing in the most respectful way, Like you know, Michael had three different careers like a child star, then the middle star, grown man star. I feel like this is a lot of In case you don't know what, By the way, went platinum in a week twice on Nicks like the

first time. First thing I know, they went platform in a week, Holy Mom only and represents for hip hop. In case your howl long is, I got so much accolades, I'm gonna keep telling that this is one of the most genuine people I've ever met. If Rain tell you he's gonna do something, he's gonna do it, and he's always had and I just want to pick him up to his face, makes him up their motherfucking dot gonna

because first those we want to thank you for. When you went on the show and they talked about the show, you said drink chaps, you addressed us and a drink chat. I appreciate that, but let's move on. It was it was some white people ship. I thought he was gonna avoid us. He's gonna say, yeah, yeah, I're gonna say my homeble a show. I'm getting little high right now, but no one isn't even smoking. Yeah I think not smoking. And don't worry. He started fight on the mouth the

mouth of the station. See you are in the house, I said on man the whole coroner for me. But that's that's the fucking out of corners working. Just need time, just that should go. So my jersey has hung up to me every stadium all around the world, every stadium in every stadium of that of that shin rub ship. I mind you, I should have a jersey. I've been a person who followed your career from the beginning, and

let's take it from the Olympics. Olympics is the time that I feel like it created the monster that you are because I feel like you you whipped the guy in the Olympics. You tore him down, and then they gave him the decision that was your only like time correct, Well, we know we're want to drink drink champs, so I mustn't have a drink first. Um. You know. Far as the Olympics, UM, I felt like it was a learning

experience from me, you know, small learning experience. UM. At that particular time in ninety six, I was very very upset upset. Wow. UM. I cried about it, why, you know, by myself at that time right a nineteen you know, I cried about it. I cried. I cried about it by myself because my dad was in prison and that's the one that taught me everything. So I cried about it. You know, it was nothing. I feel like it was a a learning experience. The origin of the source, so

like the beginning the genes. Okay, all right, um so everybody knows that the source started. Um in Boston, Dave May's went to Harvard. I met Dave. I was in a group called the Almighty Arvars. So go on my street thing. You didn't go to Harvard though, clear I lived around the corner from Harvard Street. That Harvard and Washington was four corners, so I had a little something to do with Harvard. But school so so and then um ours before the source, yeah, and already managed by

Flavor Union. Um No, that came after. But I think the Harvards so got established in eighty five, and the Ovius was probably like eighty four maybe three, you know, I say, yeah, yeah, like we feel as long as I knew you, I didn't know that. I thought the source came was so and then actually Dave the first

time we met that. How we met Dave was we was at a radio station that went that Wendy Williams graduated from Emerson College, like all the there's a lot of Yeah in Boston, Emerson College is where everybody went to college to be a radio DJ or whatever. Yeah, I think Stephen Hill went to things. A few people

went there. Um, so they would do this thing where um it was it was like what do you call those things when people pick up the phone and they get money for you telemarket and so people were there telemarketing getting money, trying to raise it for the station. And Dave and Dave came down. We wish the all Souls down there performing live, and Dave came down the interview that that was the first time ever there was

no Source, not you boy, he interviewed us. He wanted to come meet us because he had his own radio show at Harmon And that's how the Source started. Is in Toronto specifically, Yeah, well like when it comes from from But it's crazy because they showed Like I told my publicist, like I don't care. I know we're gonna do the breakfast club and all the other shop but I have to do dreams. Honestly, I told us, if

we gotta do this, my favorite ship was Focusing. No, No, I want to I've been focused later because I but now, this is not an overnight thing for y'all, Like a lot of people might see you be dot on uh MTV or see you know Elliott on the Crown episode and see he pulled off for Nicki Minaj to see pulled off for Ross and people thinking that this is, like,

you know, just some overnight thing. I want to I want to describe it from the beginning for both of y'all, you know, whichever way you want to take it, from the beginning, how did you fall in love with hip hop man and get involved with journalist? You know from Queen's right. So it's always been part of been part of where we at, you know what I'm saying. So I just fell in love with listening to people like yourself not that good? I agree, man, I agree. So

listening listening to the greats. And when I went to college, I realized I get a check off of it. What college? I went to, Delaware State University. I remember you performed it, but I didn't come. I never say that. I just about to say this performing and was like, YO, say it's hot, jail get it. I definitely remember that the girls are easy. You're married down. So so how about you, um, um, Elliott, you've been a little bit more season in the game.

We'll same thing. Growing up in Queen Run dmc L like those were like the blueprint, like you know, loving hip hop and then you know, probably first seeing the source that you could like have a magazine it then the first time you wanted to like because you know, because because being a fan of the culture and because you know, a lot of people can watch basketball. There's not a lot of people who can cover basketball, you know what I'm saying. So you know, it started was

sports with me. My father wanted me to be a baseball player because he is dream was to play baseball. So he actually wanted to name me Roberto Clemented. You could have been Roberto you know this black and my mom is Ecuadorian and green, just like he said. Elliot Wilson Jr. Like I was in Franks And so I grew up playing sports a lot of baseball growing up. And then by the time I got fifteen sixty and I was like, I'm not good enough to like go pro,

Like I'm good, but I ain't outstanding and ship. Um, so I looked at sports writing, remember, like going Wanner Wolf. Let's go to the video tape and how Yeah. I got attracted to that. I was like, oh, maybe I could do that, could be a sports report, I could be a sports writer. Um. And then when you know, I started losing more interest in sports. The music and seeing that the music could be documented, you know, just excited me. And I was like, that really was my

only career goal. I told you only my first career goal was to be music out of the source. Well, I wanted to be I wanted to get all the albums before anybody else got the albums, and I wanted to give the mix out. That's my only dream. So the so the social was already copping prior to you. Yes, okay I didn't, but they were. They weren't as big as I thought they were. But but at the time, because I had Ego Trip, I had an independent thing going on with Jenkings. Yeah, so we didn't we thought

the source. Once they got national, they were so far ahead, you know, and I was and again I just fell in love, I thot because it was the first like I want again. I wanted that position. I saw Reginald C. Dennis with the shades and like the whole thing of like getting access to the music. That's the whole thing about the streaming era. All fans not get all this access to the music. Whatever DSP they signed up to. And you know it was like Nory, I got you

remember when your album was rolling out? Your album, so album they sent like a four tracks, yeah, and so I hadn't even before that because I was just sent it to the lab, to the pub, but this department sent it to the magazine. So at n R I think I had Body of the Trunk, I believe. So

I had Body of the Trunk, had super Dog. Yeah, Like this is amazing, Like this is like Dory, Like like I want to take it from the beginning because obviously all of y'all are from this like the switcher house movement, right, So in the beginning, because um, I heard you used to write uh pepsie letters and things like that. But in the beginning, how did you get started? How how did you find your love for the music? Me and come in and we grew up together on

the same street, I know, in my whole life. We both was introduced to hip hop around the same age and around the same time, through the through the same era. Especially of Texas artists that inspired us, you know, because at that time there wasn't if we look on the TV or turn on the radio, there wasn't a lot of people from where we're from that we're professional in music. Yeah.

Even then, it was like, I when you're living in Houston and you see, like you turn on the other you turn on TV, whatever you see kind of like how people treat rapp about sometimes we always kind of felt like we got the short into this t we're being kind of Houston like maybe being there, we're so centrally located at the South, at the bottom of the Midwest. You know, we're in the South, but we're far west on the South, so we're kind of removed from kind

of what goes on sometimes in Florida, Georgia. Yeah, so it's like, you know, although we have a lot of similarities, it was like, man, you know, we suffer part of the South, like said he said that he considered he considered that the South like the Texas because it's different time zone, right, right? Do you do you agree with that statement or that just I mean personally, I never looked at the time zone is being a reason for where being in the South because there's plenty of people

in the Central time zone. Is you know, Chicago's the central time zone and it ain't south, but you know, it's just it's just more the southwest. But even then, you know, California is the southwest because Texas seems so big, it feels west coast. Yeah. And the one thing that gets lost to is it inside of Texas, we all got our own culture. So Houston and Dallas is a lot different. And if you add in San Antonio and Austin, all four of them places are four distinct different cultures

within Texas. Some of the stuff we do share, you know, some of the same thing only for sound pop top Well I didn't know. I like God damn it. But as far as I remember, you was the first person not only ever sent in Toronto, but sate from He's from Toronto, so from Toronto. Yeah, I didn't. I wasn't from the same right for you. So there's a there's a lot of history and this is kind of probably the only place where we can talk about it and

it would make sense. But before me like you gotta he definitely have to shout out like what I call like the Holy Trinity which is a female MC named Mischi Me. So Mischi Me. She used to actually be signed to um M C Light's father's label, First Priority, so she was on first Priority. And when you go back and check, the lady's first video was one of him when he saw like sweet ts them. She was in that video. You know what I'm saying. She would

not like yeah, yeah, she was in that video. And then you gotta shout out you know what I'm saying. The Dream Warriors, they were actually the first group from Canada to go platinum into nationally, you know what I'm saying. So it's wild. It's like if you do the knowledge, you know, shout out to Premier RP Guru. But like Gangster I used to open up them, you know what I'm saying, So, you know, shout out to Dream Wars. But then there was also another rapper named Miestro Fresh West.

Miestro Fresh West, he was the first dude UM to go platinum in Canada, Like we just celebrated the thirty year anniversary. You know what I'm saying. Yeah, okay of him. Well he's from Toronto as well. His name, his name is Mike Stroke. It's wild because like he's a rapper. He's a rapper. He trust me. He listened back in the early nineties. Yo, like we used to like bug out because he was one of the first to you know,

be able to do collapse. I remember he started rocking with like show busing them wild, started crazy, make them up y'all. So I mean, you know, shout out to all of them, but I mean like me, she me. Also, if you go back and check like eight seven she used to rock with with B D pre because she's on Melody Melody. This is like rock days, like Karen

Scott La rock days. You know what I'm saying, Like, yeah, like then they got joints together and I'm site, but you started with flip DJ's flipping DJs Flip I don't smoke weeds. I don't know because when I know, what are you talking about? And when I google your squad flip squad, that was that was squad. But I thought Flex was big dog pimples. I didn't know who was lay what. I'm just so you started out with yeah, I was like Flex's intern at the radio station, and

then uh, he put me in the flip squad. But it didn't last long because then he left that the whole system whatever and then started a big dog peball. It's great. I remember like Tip came in the studio one time. I was in Pats work when I was telling you that I was, uh, you know, one and one foot out and I was working on trapa die and he came to patch work was just like a famous studio in Atlanta, and he came in. He walked in. He told me gonna come through. So he came through.

He looked around. You know, I got the lounge going at my home, is in the account money, I got money in the vocal booth, you know everything. He came stood around and do his whole little thing. You know what I'm saying, he probably have. I probably had about two million in the studio until go let me talk to you for a minute. So you wanted me in the bathroom. I'm like, fun, you know what I'm saying. He's like, Yo, you know you can't do both right.

You know what I'm saying. You gotta make your choice. You're not gonna You're not gonna get away with both of these like something something's gonna fall. Yeah, He's like, your talented. You gotta tell him you know what I'm saying, like you can pull this off. And in my mind, you know what I'm saying, I made a decision right there and there and everybody that owed me when I was in the streets, I just threw my phone away. I didn't even called nobody for my money. I made

a decision right I went to Cold Turkey. You know what I'm saying, the crazy thing I ever did in my life, because yeah, but I knew he was right, because I wasn't gonna walk away like that, you know what I'm saying. But him telling me that, and I was already thinking that just really made me go, like You're gonna have to make a decision now or deal with the consequence of later. And I made a decision, and I walked away, and I threw my phone away

and everything I had. I gave my people their money that I owed him, and I was done and I walked away. That was there, like it was the best words decision in my life, because boy with them with the new cars was dropping and I couldn't forward. Damn you forgetting Zeke is a major part started this dwell. Zeke was did before your wells, was even before we even acquired you wells you did, I ain't a lot.

One night I had a show with dip Set and Zeke said his story on Black TV, and we went and I was gonna say, I don't want to say the person's name, but I'm gonna says Mike Lady and I went in and I knew that the money was low because I got the money from correct. Don't tell me, don't seeking what I'm saying. You got big yeah? And I left. It was like, y'all think this crazy. Listen to me. You're disrespected, no one, no disrespecting door. I gotta make sure this is the same night because I

know where you're going now. I love all the Lady brothers. They helped us all a lot in my career. I know you're gonna if this is the knight that led me to chasing him for two years straight in another clock. I didn't know that. Just now I'm told my high step and chasing the sill, he jumping over tables, everything. Bro. I didn't know when that wasn't night. Bro, I did not know that boy. I did not know you would

have took the money. I didn't know somebody. I did not know you the reason no money, piece of ship ship my bro. You know back head back then used to be like who's headlines? And I used to know funk Who's headlines? And I had to Brad and Z said and this is Z. This is He looked at me and said, why are you the only nigga happy? He said, you got paid. Yeah, it's like he said it on Black TV. I kid you not the story and yeah, I think Sam. I don't want to say

who they chased that. I don't want to hit the story swear cafe, what's its because I don't want I don't think to y'all said, let's tell the story. Me and Black you're doing doing time to get the money, because this is that when kids telling me I'm going to get can money like you and you know, he's like, yo, we got the money. We're telling me something. I'm like, he like, you gotta wait the money on the Monday in office. But he kind of giving me. Act like

you kind of give me. He got ninety Brooklyn niggas bomb Mike, Okay, yeah, not franchise. There's called the franchise. You so you shut gravy in the all of them start coming to everybody naking it. I'll be faced right me and Black is ninety of these niggas or something like, are you sure you want to do this? Look at Black, I said, we got we gotta get to the car. Show these niggas exactly what goes down definitely part of the back back up. We're back all the way up

to the door. We bust out the door. We start everything come out that niggas start coming to everybody get wrong, give me everything sense and change up Niga's pet. Yo, bro, talk about niggas getting pisted with everything. I was like, Bro, she went real left fast because it is piece of ship. Always get mad because people get at you because nor did get tone. It wasn't bad. And now look at everybody. Never wady get down that way. Give me don't be

out of here. Come up, everybody, listen, listen, list my whole already Whitey when I sucking, Oh yeah, condo, listen. My friend I told you at your next One of my fat Joe called me and said, really stop it right now, buck. These guys do not continue with this. My other friends so they left at me, walked in the room and said, I don't pok with that. Ship. That's the way it happened in my mind. I went to I went to her. Laughs. I was hanging out

New York, New York. I was filming. He was always filming. And then you did a verse and it sounded this, and when I turned the cames not. But you think it was just a probably a bad timing, definitely, you know what, you know, you know what, it's so bad to pat myself on the back. Yeah, but I was ahead of my time that they were for it. The thing was, I went. We was banned from Hot Nindy seven, right in front of the building, in front of Radio Stinction. I was not there, by the way, but where I

was going to suppress the highway traffic Holiday seven. And the only way that could reintroduce us was through this reggae thing. So we did a record with Rain Wonder and Lexus Girl you want to take My life. You look Jamaica, look at you, look at you. So so that was how they started to reintroduce us. So I knew when I got to Jamaica, I loved this. It was just one problem. This just isn't my island. I love the island life. Jamaica taught me the island life.

I just knew that a part of me belonged somewhere else, that I live a life period. Jamaica taught me like that was the first time I said, you know what, I'm going to fall in love with the island. But I just knew it wasn't mins. So I had to go to mind and I winded up in Puerto Rico. And when I winded up in Puerto Rico, I found this amazing music that yeah, no one funcked with in America. So I got back to and I couldn't believe DJ or nothing and commit and these guys wasn't playing it.

But I look like a hit to them when I'm saying that, I'm like, yo, we gotta play. You gotta play Daddy Yankee, and like Dan Yo, this guy like there you go, and then don't know more. They're like these names are wow, and at that time the name sound but you know, you know why, I saw it with a roll and I'm I'm gonna be honest with you. I'm brung for route to j I brun for Route to Nas. And they both had the similar story. One ax y shirt was so tight and the other acts

y his choker was so tight forget which what? Which one was? What? But then two years later after oh no, because remember Paro didn't just blow up after Super Dog A, people think not what what? What came out of here? People? People thought we were both lucky. People didn't rush for a first. People were like okay, and then oh no came out. Then that's when Mrical came with black Yards. So Mrical was the first one and then the big dogs came. But this was a little rock fell the

hole still was on payday, still was on payda. So I'm telling my mom's tell home. Ain't there? So my mom did some bullshit. She tell over and here in the room with some chick. So like I missed me. I'm all my way now that they never tell me. So I'm in the room, no watching little DVD. Chick, don't tell me come to like Joe claw Hole came in the crib like came in the room like this boom busting the rough. Yo, my nigga, this you do kick my bit y'all know that you got to go. Cindy.

I didn't do that. I ain't gonna do that though I can't kicked the bitch out kicked the bitch out. That's why hold gave me the realist speech ever and they changed everything. That's when I was like, Yo, I'm never gonna fall out of line again. You rightbody, put your seat songs. He looked me at my eyes and thin can say, I've been calling you all day to come to the studio. I'm trying to give you the opportunity to change this, to change your family life out there.

This is what you want, this is what you want. You want to be in a career with these dots in the hood. You know, it wasn't like jump Off. It was skos back then. You want to be with the skios in the hood and ship. He was like, Nick, I'm trying to get the opportunity to change anybody life in this apartment right now. He was like, remember one thing, I'm rich already. I don't need you, you need me. Nigga got up out the crib and left. I got chills.

I think it's I don't know the talk about. I think we got to drop a little off the name. I think you just O g Wayne at this point, can row with that for now, you know, Joe, But do you realize like whole generation you influenced, Like realized that you know, when you're just playing six people with seven people. Nigga, this is an impossible movie. I don't know how I did it, Like it almost killed me.

How about this? This was the work schedule. I'd wake up at two thirty in the morning and my assistant could attest this to thirty in the morning, I'd go to sit and make up for seven and a half hours. After seven a half hours, I would work sometimes sixteen to eighteen hours after the seven hours I've been there, so we're on twenty three hours. Then I would take and they would have the hour and a half to

take the makeup off. I would go home. I would sleep two and a half hours and have to be back on set to do the same ship the next day. That's work. One thing I learned about life, man Like, you gotta put yourself in a position that you can do what you want when you want. You know what I'm saying, Like you're just gonna be working for people and hand to meet quarters and deadlines because that's a company. I'm building my own company, you feel it. So it's

like I got other ship going on too. So it's like if I feel like making music, I'm gonna make music. If I feel like making history, I'm gonna make some motherfucking history. I don't need no permission for that ship. Goddamn it. The will to win. See, the thing is, there's about me and the sport of boxing. I was willing to die doing something I love. So if you wouldn't have died to do something that you love, not per cent of time, you're gonna come out on top.

So just like Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan's killer instinct, you know you gotta take the shot. Even if you miss fears, you gotta take the shot. So my thing is this and and it's crazy, you know, even like I'm saying, like when you just look back at my career, you're saying, who done the in front of it? From the beginning of boxing to now who's doing Floyd may Weather numbers? Who's doing Floyd may Weether numbers? Then you got everybody want to fight Connor McGregor. And I know you're gonna

get to that. So I know you want to get everybody want to take the Floyd may with a route. You know you gotta realize this. I got my own fucking defense man. That's the main whe I got my own style and box that's the Floyd Mayweather style. What is that? And the thing you know? And the roll I've been trying to do the ye I don't care. My dad taught My dad taught me to show the rule. But the thing is this, I don't care, and I'm not talking about my dad. Don't care. Who done it

first is mine because I mastered it. This is the part I get to raised. So Jay said, uh had an argument, had to fight. Yeah. Jay was like, I don't know. I was like, Yo, that that girl Rihanna's dope. They're playing it on the radio again. Reaction, I think you should sign up. And it was like a little iffy, like, I don't know what. Maybe the song might be bigger than her. I'm not sure. We had an argument. I'm like, I'm telling you she's dope. I'm thinking Caribbean. That's good.

That's a good point. Bigger than time. She definitely surpassed all that at the time. That song was way bigger. A lot of people come out with a song like that, they never follow it right. So we had this argument and I'm thinking Caribbean vibes. I'm like, I could break this artist because that's what I do. Like. At this point, he was the President's I didn't have a familiar at that time too. After that, it was it was forming

at the same time together. And to this day, that's probably off my favorite tour because we we were both coming up together. Y'all was on entertable, I was on Penalty and now we're both on death Jam. We're both like these dudes, but oh Boy is number one Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, then Homeboy is number one Fridays, and so we gotta so we gotta like, I'm gonna be honest to me being camp is jay Z and a nas of art generation, y'all did that? Please? Please? Can you give that listen?

I got like platinum artists, hands damn album, you'll put out one platinum and she was and it was it was at a different time when certain artists wasn't going on platinum. You took that ship, Jim, some of your biggest artists that people look up to right now, and that moment in the nineties and that toum error wasn't going platinum. It might have been hot. He might have been Flying wasn't gone platinum, makes going platinum, nor he

was going platinum. Kim was going platinum. DMX was going platinum. That's about it. From New York, say eminem, but from New York, let me pay attention. From New York Times continue, Hope was a different category. He's never last, He's gonna platinum. He was a different categories. And I took him a while ago platinum Like, he didn't start off going platinum like he platinum and there's no shots that hold. He's a fucking billionaire, but his main battle was making it

to be platinum. He had the platinum rolling, they had everything like. It was hard for him to make the platinum. And then when he finally made platinum, he stayed there. It only got better than illa and way triller you did that in that error. He was in the same fight as all of us trying to get to that platinum. There was a group of the hole was a little

bit older. He already had put his game down. The ship like that we were killing in ninety seven and ninety hold, and it was already there from ninety four and ninety five, one bigging all of them. He was shaking the ship like that. We came in at the tail end in the nineties and front that ship. Damn, there was only a few people that could have wanted the tunnel and shut it down. It's Rockefeller, Norrie care DMX, murder, murder and murder and murder was getting stupid bus. A

lot of people don't know that Platinum here. Yeah, he was more extra Platinum was on a different train back then. Urban Jane. How to get to the platinum into you did? I was all in the building studying everything that was going on. Everything stick got us in that building. I just was in there choking up all the game to the to the point I can make some money. I figure out how to make some moneys. Hello, you're a real good um. You're a real good host, No, I said,

because I was watching you on like no one. You re got it. No ready know how to ask the questions. He knows. I'll still be kindly questions. How you know how to deliver it? Like the beginning statement being that right at the end, when you think you're going this way, you all away like good old car like drink Champs is successful because because you are kind of the shoulder right. I appreciate that you're definitely driving the yacht ye, depending on what the question is. What you don't want the

question of cash. Now, I'm joking because a friend for years, I've been seeing like you've been acting, Bobby Brown Brown, and I just always wanted to tell you, Nick. I never was like, that's why when you can say that, I'd be like, Now, I don't act like I'm seeing niggact like that. I don't act like, oh my god, in your mind you thought you could take nas. Yeah, there's two niggas. The two niggas they go at me. They can say your mind should give you. So we

got Let's get straight to the point. Do you don't even feel like EVO trying to cut you out? Do you feel like that's just that's just take a ban day right, check to the police. You don't drink safe. So it's no need to build up to this ship. There's no need to do it. You know, we're gonna try to We're gonna try to get us official drinking monsters. A little I get a monster drink. Let's just be clear. When this was your morning show, I'm a morning person.

I woke up in the morning. You always use the car always the car was um um and just one morning it was the morning show until the next morning it was abro It's morning show. You had to feel a certain type of way. This is drinking chance. Come on, I don't. I don't feel any type of animosity to anybody for ship like that. You know what I'm saying. There's a whole bunch of different reasons, but essentially, let's right,

get down for the people that don't know. Sorry to cut you up because I wanted people, but I wanted people to understand where I'm coming from. Essentially, this was some your boss, it's the people don't understand. This is all programming. So don't listen to social media. Listen to people. I know where the laughs are and I would never do something. If I tell a joke and three people walk out, that's a bad joke. If I do a joke and one person walks out out of three hunting nigger,

that's that's a damn good joke. That's a sensitive month. That's why you do the coffee because you're working. All that materialize anyway. Yeah, but nowadays they put it online and then you get sucked up for saying stupid ship with comedians. We're gonna say stupid ship if we're trying to get too good ship. Now it's one thing if you do like a special and you go, this is my refined material and now I'm ready to present this to the world. But somebody getting you on stage while

you're you're in the thought creating. You have to stay stupid ship, too good to the good ship. So we have to be you know, I gotta be unforgivable and just go I'm not apologized for ship. It's overlooked in this game and how hard it is to stay relevant and how hard it is to have ten years in

this game and still be who you are. So many people they do survive those ten years, but they turned into a whole different type of animals, different type of objects, and the further they get and that's still I get it. I get what what what changed? It should be changed, but it's something that should not never changed is that we're superheroes and the thing that we dedicate to our community when we, you know, put our face. I can't never take my face off and go to McDonald's and

say I'm off. We can't never do that. Like this is a twenty four hour job even when we're not at it. So I want you all to know that I appreciate that you're a real big figure like you. You're figure. And it's such a presidents when you said, you know, you got an album coming out for the Rule January thirty first, correct, And um, you come to see black media, you know what I'm saying, cause that's what we quote unquote is right now is you know what I mean. But we hood media and we hip

hop media. You know what I'm saying. And the thing is when you come and see us, it's it's such a such a blessing. It's such a it's such a such a president that, you know what, we can control our own ship. We don't have to go outside, you know, big up to Ellen and big up to you know, traffic nowhere and all of them. You know, we're great, great, great to see these guys well, but when you come to Drink Champs first, it's just a president. And guess

what we love that. Thanks for joining us for another episode of Drink Champs hosted by Yours truly, d J E f N and n O R E. Please make sure to follow us on all our socials.
