He has been out here monkey foot stopping didn't. He transition on y'all and did a whole another career and started going more on live on Live, and he he sort of felt loving and and I don't even know, but he's still here. He's one of my closest friends. I speak to him almost every other day. We disagree, we argue,
but we are brothers. He is one of the most genuine, most loyalists people, most stubborn, but loyal to the car and I accepted he's one of my closest friends. If case you don't know what I'm talking about, I'm talking about bus Zino. Make you forgot to drink Chance alumni. It is a drink Chance alumni. Now we gotta address we gotta address my bag, specially after that. That's good. That appreciate so um, because it's I guess this is a two part question because one last time you was here, uh,
you was with with someone else. So but not only that I've been hearing room was that I feel like you want to address um about the origin of the source. So like the beginning the genesis? All right, um, so everybody knows that the source started um in Boston, Dave May's went to Harvard. I met Dave. I was in a group the Almighty Hours so doing my street thing. You didn't go to Harvard though, Let's just be clear. I lived around the corner from Harvard Street. That's Harvard.
Harvard and Washington was four corners, so I had a little something to do with Harvard, but it was the school so so and then um ours before the Source, yeah, and already already managed by Flavor Unit. Um No, that came after. But I think the artist so got established in eighty five and the Arts was probably like eighty four maybe three, you know, I say, yeah, yeah, like we feel as long as I knew you, I didn't know that. I thought the source came almighty so and
then actually Dave the first time we met. How we met Dave was we was at a radio station that went that Wendy Williams graduated from Emerson College, like all the there's a lot of Yeah in Boston, Emerson College is where everybody went to college to be a radio DJ or whatever. Broadcast. Yeah, I think Stephen Hill went to think a few people went there. Um, so they would do this thing where um it was like what do you call those things when people pick up the
phone and they get money for you, um telemarketing. So people were there telemarketing getting money, trying to raise it for the station. And Dave and Dave came down. We wish the all Souls down there performing live. And Dave came down the interview that that was the first time ever there was no source or nothing that interview you for. He interviewed us. He wanted to come meet us because he had his own radio show at Harvard And that's how the sort started because he had a radio show.
They like they was playing um, you know, like violence and ship violent. You know what I'm saying, up papers real quick, you know what I'm saying. Listening this taste? Yes, yes, yes, that's nin a live family. You know what I'm saying. So, okay, you did this radio show? How does all right? So he has the radio show going, You do this radio You have your rs O thing going? How does it
coming in? Because I believe the source was a pamphlet at first start, he started as a newsletter for the station basically what was going on a list of the top songs that week, what was happening in news and everything, And it was him and his buddies. He had four buddies that were college buddies that were you know, all college guys. You know what I'm saying. Um, they came up with the name of the source, you know what
I'm saying. And when basically, my my, My, my DJ, who was deaf Jeff at the time, m Jeff two times, UM started DJ for his radio show on Saturdays. And then you know when when they made the newsletter, you know, Dave had to come to the hood because he's in Cambridge,
so you know, you know what I mean. He gotta you know, you gotta go through the hood with somebody, you know, so, you know, we took him through the hood and he gotta, uh, he gotta add his first ad from Skippy White's music store for two hundred dollars. Imagine that Skippy White, Skippy White. Okay, so now so goes from the playmphlet. It's pamphlet obviously comes out correct, Yes, yes, that sounded like right that the pamphlet obviously comes out like when does it become a business when it could
what it could be. I really wasn't paying attention, honestly, I got it, you know, I was again the artist sold in my street ship. You know what I'm saying. So I was hustling, So I wasn't that you know, I wasn't paying attention to the to the pamphlet. You know what I'm saying. I didn't. That was Dave's thing. You know what I'm saying. I was doing my thing. And then, um, you know I've seen it. And then um, I remember he made it into a book form. It was it was a small book, black and white. The
first time it was like a book form. It was like like a paperback, very small. I think slick Rick might have been the first cover of the booklet, but it was black and white. And then I remember, this is a funny story. So he would always go back home Dave for two d C for the summer. So once somebody got locked up for the whole summer and ship, so Dave stated, in my apartment and that's where they
were shipping. That was the office for the source. They were shipping out boxes and everything from my apartment that he stayed for the summer. She did a little sixty days or whatever. He states that curious what was sixty days for? Um? I got dragged to them all was using the credit card by police. The police credit card. Wait wait, my man Trev just got got home that we was going to mark this vineyard. I went to Macy, spent a whole bunch of money. I had had an
American Express source card, had saw a song. It was a gold card. You know, I'm going in their braids half of you know, and so I charged up the stuff. I remember I bought my mother's song there I think it was. It was around February, around her birthday. So we ended up coming outside and I remember we was, you know, the police came say, hey, I want to see your license out and not. I said, wait a minute, you don't see my license for I've already bought it.
The lady already gave and received it. We've already passed that. So I want to see a license. I said, I'm not giving you my license and rough me up with the mace. You know what I'm saying. So what happened was I had an old charge and this was in Quincy. So they made me cop out to the old charge and I had to do sixty days. Oh my god. Yeah, some stupid ship you just got arrested for the like the same type of ship, right you flipped on the
train flipped on the Chinese. What happened? You were right? You say, I was like, what I even say that? First of all, the rest of all it was the man who was who? You know? It was the man? Right? So you know, I'm just chilling at the crib where I live is like man se white people was quiet Saturday afternoon, eleven o'clock. Ain't nobody out there, you know what I'm saying. No dogs, nothing out there. It's just you know, it's just some beautiful day. Why is you
running my plate? You know what I'm saying, What then is you running my plate for? And then he said, then I don't know, you know. So I got up, said said some things. You know what I'm sounding after while, you get tired of this ship, your whole life getting pulled over, profiled, harassed. That ship is whack man. You know what I'm saying. I just got fed up, man, you know, but I'm being honest. It's the true story.
I went down to the station. So by then, you know, like when they take you down to the station, they knock you up before you do your fingerprints. So I said, I told him come here before he left, and ship I apologized to him, I did because you know what I'm saying, at the end of the day, at a point that I wasn't raised like that, and you know, I got kids, and at the end of the day, like I really ain't racist, you know what I'm saying,
So I don't want to. I just was like, I've just seen the cop and I was just trying to make him mad. You know what I'm saying. Everybody's a little bit prejudice. No, I really Everybody'll be honest, everybody I'm prejudiced against prejudice. I'm prejudiced. Like I've really never just seen somebody and was like, yeah, fuck him because he's white, or fuck him because he's like looking about
the stereotypes, Like yeah, that's really listen my grandpa. I have two of the most racist grandfathers, both of them. I got my my Spanish grandfather. He's racist. He only like Puerto Ricans hold like four ricons. And then I got my black grandfather. They both passed away only like black people. Nick as soon as mused to come and he's like, oh Spanish people is here, how, like yeah, that's my grandfather's And then my other grandfather he said to me this stereotype. Well, I guess it is Spanish
Spanish people coming on. That was like, you know, so what I'm saying everybody is a little bit prejudice. Like, come on, I'm sorry to say this, but you're gonna tell me that if you see somebody right now in the car accident and one of the people was Asian, you ain't going on that biggase they've fall. Come on, you can laugh at that, nigga. Come on, come on a little bit, because it's a room one that the agent you know, you know, you know, like they got
sucked up eyes. What No, I'm the only one that heard that they can't drink. I don't think the reason why you heard that he's real. That's the reason why they said they can drive. I thought that No, no, no, no, you got you to do se we want, we want, we want the gorilla bus. Jesus man, let me drinking that sweet ship. Come on, you're a brown drinker. You remember we drink with you and you can wound up in a wheel chair. Do you remember that one day
he was like, I'm drinking with you today. You know, I was like where I like, but I'm not gonna lie I did not anticipate the wheelchair, but when it when it happens before instagram ship Instagram. You know what I'm saying, when you drinking the wheel chair is there? What you're gonna do? You're wheelchairs? Definitely, definitely, And I apologize to any Asian people who took that the wrong way. I'm just saying that because me tell you, let me
tell you something. I get more. You know, it was heavy and my d MS like, yo're just the fucking mob. We're gonna kill you. Try to back up my d MS and was like, yo, bro, you know you're a legend. Bro, and man, listen, you know people look up. I wasn't see. I don't me. I'ma be honest, Like, it took me a while to understand social media. So a lot of stuff with social media with me, if I don't pay attention to it after the first three days is gone.
So that's you know, stuff that that probably is good towards me. I won't even look at it, you know, because I don't want to react a certain way. This is what I mean. Everybody's prejudice. I'm so sorry dropping around. But like if you ever see like a person argue and then that person's fat. And the first thing they say is I'm not older, like you know what I'm Yeah, I'm not touching the person got glasses and ship calling
for eyes like everyone's a little prejudice. Yeah, but I'm not touching the fat ship because trust me, my dms will be filled with But you know what I'm saying. I'm telling you people people sensitive, man, and you gotta be careful. We have Wayne he said, don't give a about people sensitivity. He said, yeah, he's a comedian. He really can't. You're gonna do his craft. Yeah, but yeah, but that ship could fuck you up in business work. You know what I'm saying. He's already you know what
I'm saying. But you can get blacklisted. You say the wrong ship and Marlon Wayne's you know he won't be getting them big movies. You say the wrong ship, I bet you won't say no wrong ship about no Jews bant that. Yeah great? So when did you when when did this sword become a thing for you? When it was I gotta go back to the being dragged out
the mall. Yeah, I'm just no, no, no, I mean look, I mean listen, the source thing was was was formed by Dave May's and his college graduate and his college guys as how many and how I got set up with the source was when um, you know, Daved like would have because he had the source, he would be connected to different people in the labels, so he would invite the A and oars when labels had A and oars, come down and come see the group we've opened up for.
Tradrey opened up for L L, every B everybody that came, we would open up for and we'd be doing our own ship anywhere. So um, yeah, I mean ship. You know what I'm saying. Like it wasn't un tell that a story was put in about the RS. So where see, you gotta understand this is my theory. Maybe I'm prejudiced, O maybe your practice with this? All right, And I know I might take a lot of flak for this, but college people, college people like at the beginning, this
is my own theory. I smoke and I come up with theories, and all right, we all do. All right. So college when when hip hop first came up? When when when you have a kid that's living in the hood and he goes to college, you know, sometimes the kid turns his back on the hood because he's living that college life now and he thinks automatically that it's not like a bad thing, but he thinks that's what he's supposed to do. I'm supposed to go to college and get the funk out of that life and get
away from that life. But here's what happens when hip hop comes. There's a divide now when gangster music comes and street music comes now, because you know, college kids ain't with all that, but in their in their privacy of their rooms and everything they're listening to, you ain't put the hat on, and you know what I'm saying, you know what I mean, because it gets them amped up because there's something about the streets, in the in the like the just that life that people are intrigued
and they want to be right okay. So then well the street guy is like, oh man, well, you know what I'm saying, funk that y'all ain't street. So y'all, y'all can't live you don't know what it is to live like you know what I'm saying that way, So there's always been like a you know what I'm saying. Have you ever went to like a college party that you're saying. Good, at that time, college people didn't belong in hip hop at that I wouldn't say belong in hip hop. What I would say is this not running
the magazine. What I would say, no, not even run the magazine. But like when Gangster Rap came, you know what I'm saying to me, You know what I'm saying, it would have been more. You know, the more street guys you have rating music and writing, you know, I mean, the problem is street guys don't. Aren't journalists back, you
know what I'm saying. You got the college kids are, so it's always so it's like it's cool when you have like Q tipping them like that movement that you know what I'm saying, like that's non violent and even Chuck D in them movement with pro Black. There was a lot of stuff that was just made hip hop that was really for colleges. You know what I'm saying, like non violent, non but but but the street music is what We're not four colleges, but it was they
were the ones that it was. Yeah, because it wasn't it was for everybody right, it was it was for everybody right. But when Gangster Rat came, it was like the streets whatever against the right to my iced tea, and yeah, man, like that's what we came up off. Because some people credit school e D was to do for school Philadelphia. School e D came out with the songs. No, you wasn't thinking school D was a gangster when you
heard PS. You didn't think that. Now he might have been a real nigger in his hood, but the deception wasn't. The music wasn't gangster in the image, like you didn't see it, you know what, n W way you you actually felt that right now, what then is going on? I'm not drinking. That's come up with a different so yeah,
so so so so. Now Dave and his college guys, you know, David, his college guys are the ones up there doing the journalistic They're the ones rating the albums, and everyone huh Me and Dave's relationship was they were all the people up there would always look at it as you know, Dave's hanging around these street guys, and the rumor was that he was being stored and you was the guy who came and like stop their story that happened. No, no, no, no, not nobody was Nobody
was stilled nobody at that time. The source wasn't even making a lot of money. I mean, it was doing decent, but like these kids already had, they all came for money, like they came from good parents and good homes. Yeah, like you know what I'm saying. They went to h Edward Young and James Bernard and you know, these guys were like, you know, like you know what I'm saying. They wasn't, you know, fucked up in the game. So, um, they just to me automatically. They just didn't like me
at all. I mean you could, but but let's let's just get to the why did Dave actually come to you? And I'm saying because because all right, so the financing so as no no, no, no no. As time went on, um, you know again, our relationship grew and he's he's he's not our manager because we've never signed nothing but exact and everything he's doing is like managerish. So he did a story on us. It tastes like Jesus pussy right here. Whoa, whoa,
it's phenomenous. He wasn't saying that with just this one, right, I'll take Jesus pussy back, man, Come on, come on, it's nice. It's it's nice. It's nice. It's nice. This is nice. It's nice. What we're talking about. You just we got with with Dave. So they they put all the core about the US in the magazine. Uh, this is when a ma he blew up the magazine that there was in New York at this time. They moved the office they put the article. Now they got a
pretty big staff this time. When he did the article, the dude that he sent down to do the article was Bones Malone. Now, Bones Malone was in Remember Life, the movie Life Remember at the end Heavy Dan. The dude was shoveling Bones, Bones Malone, and the culture was like a hip hop guy writer you know. Later on Yeah, he went to funk with Vive. Okay, so um, they sent Bones to do the article. Bones is roding Russ and Boston. He's seeing how real it is. I actually
got locked up with Bones. I got locked up warrant for something. But honotually got locked up with Bones and I got built out. Bones left. He was supposed to stay for three days. He didn't want to finish the story. The people like all that. I guess they all got together was like, nobody do that story. Because they didn't. They felt like we didn't deserve a story. Who's who's the people, all the staff, the whole staff other than they, the entire staff thought that we didn't deserve a story.
And that remind you. At this point, we had been signed by easy Well that he had died, We had signed Tommy Boy Records, we got signed our c A, we had a few things out what and plus our man owned the magazine. Why can't we just get the little feature? We never that. We didn't have a feature up until then, I never had it. It was it was the red Man covered with the ARTISTI on his nose. So Dave ended up finishing the fucking article and article himself. I knew he wasn't gonna pass back, so I had
another one ready. You know you're too long, man, This is all right now, I want real congradulations. So um, so they did the article and that's the first article came out. Next thing, you know, the whole staff a letter to Dave and said step down else we're all walking out. That's like everybody here writing a letter. You said, leave drinks, leave, fuck your percentage sucking money, just leave
and go now right. They said that they broke the integrity of the magazine by putting the story in US, and you know, and that you know, I was this bad guy and all the ships. So they had put the letter around, sent it to everybody in the industry, radio stations, record labels like it just you know, so man, it kind of sucked us up. That was like the first time we started getting like, you know, like a bad rep in the industry because we wasn't from New York.
You know, New York look out for New York back then, you know what I'm saying. We were right down the street New York. Wasn't working with Boston like that, you know what I'm saying. So um as far as hip hop goes, so um. Yeah. Like and then you know, Dave and then firing all of them. He bought out the other three partners and then came to me because I stuck with him. You know, I had to go up to New York and kind of you know, stand by the side because you know, it was getting a
little crazy. You know what I'm saying. They was threatening them and ship and it's all based and solely around because of that article period period. And it wasn't like it was an article saying the music is this good that just like days, these are days. Friends. They should not be in the magazine. They don't deserve it, they don't deserve a feature. And at that time you're not considered the partner. Correct, No, not okay, So this article comes out, they do this, you can come to New York.
At that time, I was getting more money in the Source, you know Instry. That's like you know what I'm saying. It wasn't you know, I mean like they was doing their thing. But it just was just every time I would go, like I throughout my whole life, I never had an office in the Source. Ever, office. I would always just go up there Dave's country be and not just sit there smoking blunt. We would just talk about any meetings whatever. But I never had an office. I
never felt comfortable at the Source. My whole time there with the staff felt like and then sometimes I would want to smoke weed with him, bring him to the fire escape and try to be cool. As time went on and ended up that you know, hey, you know, do you think you could talk to Dave Man about my pay? Do you think you could talk to that? Do you think you could? It was always them coming to me because Dave was always kind of like the
mean one to kind of flipped. But back then, like they all walked out day fire, them came to me and said, Yo, it's just me and you. You know what I'm saying. I'll give you half the magazine and half the percentage. And I was like, all right then then still see no money. It was not like you gave me some money and then you signed an actual cars tract. No, this is a handshake, just a handshake. Um, do we sign a contract? I don't know, that's a
good question. Maybe maybe now I don't even remember. I just remember, like I do remember him saying, look, you want to get down, you know you want? I was like, yeah, why not? You know what I'm saying. But I really didn't do anything for a while, Like I didn't do ship. It wasn't nothing. I was, you know what I'm saying. But as time went on, I learned more about the business and branding of it, and then finding other ways to get money outside just the pages, like the Source
Awards had lot to do with me. And you also created onside hype right, No, no, unsigned happed. Wasn't mind that that was that was the source of Maddie Maddie see some run outside that. Yeah, not like I didn't. I didn't you know, Five Mix wasn't Hid did none of that. But the things like the Source hip Hop Hits, the Source Awards, Source All Access TV show with Lisa Ray and Tretch. You know what I'm saying, we had on syndication um and then like my presence, I always
felt like this, do you do y'all know? Do y'all know anybody that XXL from the streets? Like can y'all like when you think Excel, do you think of any nigger from the street Vibe magazine. People wanna understand, hip hop wasn't made in colleges. Hip hop wasn't made in the boardrooms. Hip Hop was made in the ghettos and the streets. And that's and and people people take that for granted. But that's just what the funk it is,
you know what I'm saying. The people from the streets, you know, that's like you know your whole dead, you know what I'm saying. But there is a room now nowadays, there is a place for this college map Like you have a Kanye West as example, It's involved and you have a Parole as an example, or lou Paper. But of course you're saying this is at the original, this is the origin of it. Yeah, okay, being part of the show, God damn it, Harry go Hey, alright, alright,
so what were we talking about? A little clazy? You could argue the same thing that you're saying. That has to do with where the music comes from, and and these guys running the magazine is the same for the industry as a whole, like the record labels, guys that were marrying the music that weren't from that's always been places. My problem is they don't respect people that the industry never respected the streets. You know what I'm saying, They never respect the streets. And that's why I was what
I brought to the source. I think I brought a credibility because after a while, you know, I started like, yeah, so this is my magazine. I started getting more involved with the covers and more involved with decision making. Like I hired Kim as the first female editor. Never never happened before, yet she got hired as the first editor. M Carlito Rodriguez, he came was locked up him right out of jail, Moras. Oh, listen, a lot of a lot of these people from the soul. So are these guys.
They were all doing amazing things with networks and everything, right, but but a lot of them was you know, you know, I mean that to Tari Over with TV producer over it growing up hip hop? He was I thought he was gonna be a part of growing up hip hop. What'll happened? Oh man, pip hop man, there's a lot of That's a whole other story, whole other story. I mean, you know, it was just you know what I'm saying, they wanted me and my daughter. They want to court.
You know what I'm saying, They wanted court. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, man, she's she's doing her thing. But you know, you know what I'm saying, family things, you know what I'm saying. So we didn't decide to do it, you know what I'm saying. Yeah, you don't have to talk about that. Yeah you know, yeah definitely. But all right, so let's getting back to the sauce. So now he comes to you when he says fifty and so now there wasn't
no money, I don't get no money nothing. Okay, but what time frame we're talking about so we couldn't understand what. You'll be honest with you, I still I still wasn't like I'm getting ready to get big money. Even when he made me a pardner, I still wasn't like I'm gonna get millions of dollars like I didn't think about
of that, you know what I'm saying. When the money came, it just was like a blood because it was just like what the funk man, Like after after they got fired and we cleaned house, that's when everything just started going crazy. Like I mean, it was just it was just too much money. And I didn't I didn't, you know what's like, because you just you just just you didn't think about money and didn't you because when he made me a partner, I'm like, you're like, why cool?
Whatever you know I tried to do, I wasn't making money prior to that, right, I'm to out legally right, I was getting my street on. Okay, all right, that's not so about all right? So how long after when you became a partner the money actually come in. Let's see years, years, yeah, years, like ninety nine, Like I wasn't but you started at night? No, no, like no, no, I probably like ninety four, so years later I probably got started seeing money from the source of ninety nine,
maybe around maybe, but from Nino oh three crazy. It's like the Wolf of Wall Street. You're sucking out, sucking anything out there. Stottle. Yeah, it was a good time because I mean we was getting twenty five thousand dollars and that, and we had eight eight ads every month. Correct.
It was like I just look, I remember, I was like, I mean we would we would go to l A and we would just like spend hundreds of thousands of hotel rooms and just stayed it for months, like at the Beverly Hills and just sitting I wouldn't want to leave. They'll be like, yeah, we're gonna I'm not gonna stay here for a few more weeks and ship. You know what I'm saying. I just didn't have any like you
know what I'm saying. I just thought that the money and see I never questioned Dave with the books or anything, you know, I just know that I had a couple of cards and I was tanying off to the film off the Motherfucker's you know what I'm saying, And all my niggas just like how you. That's why I love you because you all your niggas and it's the same faces I had. I was bringing my niggas all over the world, eating lobsters and stay. You know what I'm saying,
Like you know I stayed at the Beverly Hills. I'd be in the bungalow, but they'd still be in the main spot, which is still beautiful. Like you know what I'm saying. So you know, no, you know what I mean. Like, so you know, but but I didn't save anything. You know what I'm saying. I didn't say nothing. Know what I'm saying. It was supposed to supposed to like every night you got a little life man, You got a
little life man. Yeah but yeah, but yeah, but yeah, but yeah but if if if I didn't, if I didn't know to invest some ship, then you know what I'm saying. You know I would invest the track right now? What is that open? That's open already? Or no? We got about a couple more weeks now we put a new hood and what was what southdcap all got to be soft? What South decap the cab South Decap the cab South South Decabb. You know what actually you trying to put on I try to South Cat. Why That's
That's one thing I know about you. You really really know how to cook, like you really know how to cook. Like you had the best trimming grits I ever had. It's like you just came over that. That's because you you you know I'm talking about you know what I'm talking about. It just one day, were just at the crib and we were just bored. He was like, you went through my ship and it's like, oh, I'm gonna
look this right now. And I was like, like it was just and you just you wasn't even prepared, like that's how and it was just so he gave me some shrimps right with that Tofu Yeah, yeah, yeah, just the funny ship. Right, it's just tofu. But they cut it like it's and they put two little black eyes, like what the fund is this? But but they put a bay on it, so like it tastes like you know,
it tastes like slime on it. And he's also blacks in the first only person in the history of life to bring pork in my house, and he brings park in my house. He brought the park shoulder. I didn't even think a pink got a shoulder. My dude, like, how did you know that this thing I brought? I thought I was doing something right thanks Giving I'm saying. I'm thinking he's porter we kid. I'm saying, we showder
it's the truth. Just thinking maybe take the park show to put it in the liver room a punk show. Was sitting by the team. He was madest man, so said, he gives you and what part would you started taking it serious when he was like, you know what, this can be my my ticket to get out of the streets. Man, I don't, man, I swear like they was just the time where I was just doing so much drugs or spending so much money and running around with females and just doing all kind of ships. It's like I really
didn't like it was. It was a time where definitely I didn't I didn't look at I didn't look at things for probably what the way I should have been looking at him. You know what I'm saying. I just the money was coming and I was just spending it. I wasn't writing articles in the magazine. You know what
I'm saying. You know, um, I think I think there was a period of time like maybe maybe, like oh maybe, like oh one where you know what I'm saying with the Source Awards and everything, doing a few of them. And you see, because with me, I always felt like nobody liked me. I felt like nobody like gave me credit anyways. Like anytime I felt like I did do something, I never got credit for it from the people at
the staff. I never got credit from like you know, I already got a bad rep you know what I'm saying with with everybody in the industry, like you know what I'm saying. So it's almost like I had to wear that ship where it's like what was man dahn? They don't like me anyway. So it was like a point where I was like, funky, I'm not gonna get the credit for anyway, So funk them, Funk everybody who cares.
And I remember, I never forget it when we lost the Source, right we're in New York's New York's rough, like New York's rough on athletes, anybody like you could have just won three World Series and you sucked the last two years, get out, we don't even give a funk about it. I felt like that with the Source, and we lost that it was like I felt like the whole New York, in the whole industry was just like, yeah, nigga, you lost it. See lay to get the funk out
of here. And it was like, you know, it was it was, it was. It was like it was when y'all was up. No, not me. I was never. I mean Dave Dyve used to rub you know a few because day it was like, you know what I'm saying, like a real harsh type of guy, like you know business and you know, like the Hawk, But me, you
know what I'm saying. Nah, Hell no, I was I'm the same nigga like and nigga's noticed, man, you know what I'm saying, Like you wouldn't even know whether I had money or not, because I'm just gonna be the same nigga. Like if you all around and we're together, we're gonna smoke eat. If I'm shopping with y'all, everybody gets something like, I don't you know what I'm saying. I never really because I was always getting money in
the streets anyway. So it's not like and even when I lost the source, I felt like ship I go back to the streets. I felt bad for Dave. But wait, wait before you lost it. You guys lost the sorce. Is there any truth to everybody saying that you were you're giving yourselves a mix and you was giving yourself No, no, not. The only time I gave myself the mix was the Eminem situation, and I had it. I felt like at that point because it was me against the staff, me
against everybody. I felt like at that point, I was like, funk everybody. I just I was in a I was in a dark place where I felt like I'm standing up for something that's right. I know deep down what I'm standing for. It's just not rapping, but I just felt like nobody backed me. Nobody. I felt like the industry, you know what I'm saying, And I had to learn it's the hallway, Like you can't look at the industry
to be um righteous, loyal righteous. You know, you can't look at them to be revolution and it's about making money and you know what, I'm at that point that maybe because I was already making money, I just took it for granted people because I didn't have to answer to nobody, like I was at the top of the food change what you had, grditance to do it all over what you do the Eminem thing in the same way,
it's hard to say that. It's hard. It's hard to go back and say what you do anything is over because because it's like, you know what I'm saying like that. You know, at that time I was I felt deep about my my what I was. You know what I was standing for. You know what I'm saying. My thing was hip hop. And I always said this and people have heard it before. Hip hop is the only thing that made white people come to the culture, buy into the culture, spend money, and also interact with the culture
through hip hop. Nothing else has happened. Nothing's nothing else that brought white people to black people then that Okay, So I felt like once they get a white rapper and make him white where that white people want to buy him, then they then they funk with that balance because now white people, we'll just funk with him because because of the skin color. Before they had to come funk with us because that's the music. Like I didn't feel that way about the Beastie Boys, I didn't feel
that way about Third Base. Out of it with Eminem, I just felt like, Okay, hip hop is big now. It's a pop. Now, now we need a white people are buying into it. Excuse me, Now we need a white person to represent the white people. And that's just what happened. What I said happened happened period, Like anybody that even tries to food himself, like like he came in and there was a whole there's a whole whole. There's a whole demographic of white people who just ain't
fucking with niggas, period. I don't give a funk. They just ain't fuck Those are the guys who vote for Donald Trump. You know, no matter what fun policies, you don't funk with niggas, then we're fucking with you, all right. And it's just it's it's a it's a color thing, it's a tribe thing that that's That's just what it is. And since they outnumber black people, since white people out black people, they're gonna win, you know what I'm saying.
So so I just felt like Eminem, and Eminem didn't even have to be the one I'm gonna say because it's necessarily his fault. But but but right, right, But but when you look at the Eminem siture, hip hop is more than just rap. It's a culture, it's a it's it's our life. It's just isn't rap, it is just this isn't wrap. You know what I'm saying, it's it's it's our life. So you know, to him, I'm sure it's wrap. You know what I'm saying. But unless you grew up in the culture, you could never know.
I don't feel Eminem is of the culture himself. He's he raps of of the culture of of no, no, no, no. Eminem is not in the culture that I'm from. That's not a bad thing. I'm not mad at that. A lot of people ain't. But he's not. We're not from the same coaches. He grew up one way. I grew up a whole different way. That's where you come. You
know what I'm saying. That's what I mean culture, You know what I'm saying, Like he grew up where there was not too many black people and growing up around black people and how we live like like nor we said, it's funny are we talking about this? And you kind of started the conversations about prejudice. But the reason why it's prejudice because we all have our own ship the way we grew up each race of people. As long
as we respect it, it's good. You know what I'm saying, Like, you don't think like somebody trying to black dude in Nascar, he's gonna have a hard time. Like if you see a Spanish dude and a white dude right now someone's staff, you immediately say the Spanish dude did he I I'm just saying. I'm just being honest, like, and I'm spanning, so it hurts me. If there's a knife involved and i see a Spanish doing the white dude, I'm like, oh, yeah,
you got him, that's true. I'm not agree with you. Now, Look if there was an a K forty seven, you know what I'm saying that you know with five schools and you know what I'm saying, We know so, but but this is the ship. So at one point, at one point it had to be you know, he was he was running the operation at one point, yeah, running it. Like everything had to go through me, like pretty much.
I mean many years was that if you remember from I would say two thousand to two thousand four ish that when you had clubs Zeno out here, clubs zo I got Maston clubs zo clubs. They know it was not fun. Bro, it was not fun. I'll tell you the funny ship. Listen. This is the funny ship. That's what listen. Listen. So me, I was you and you both hit me like you'll come to the club. So I come to the club, my nigger. I walk in and this is I think it's Jarrold party, but it's
your club if both my friends at the time. But I don't want to ask for no free bottles. So I went and I bought like five bottles about dude. As soon as my bottles come to Eller's fight breaks out. I'm like, I'm not leaving. I just want this ship. Yeah, I think I don't give a funk. The whole club left. I still didn't drink. I'm not just made for the ship. And then the dude came and just makes everybody. So I'm like, oh, I gotta deal with it. I gotta deal with that fish. My ship. This is a Pops
with managing time. I mean, I just about the club because I was tired of getting fresh, going through problems, getting in mention everywhere. So I see know what we're gonna get this collected. I lost a lot of money in that club. I didn't make no money in that club. But we have we have fun. So let's let's let's stay on the source now. So you're sick. So everything was running through you. When you say everything was running through you, this is the covers, This is the mic
I was started at this point. Yeah, I was like checking covers. I came up with the hip hop behind Boss cover. That was one of my most influential, biggest covers ever at that time. I think it was um Um, I'm not sure. I know, I remember a l I remember c murder. Um, I'm not sure it was. It was. It was a bunch it was, it was. It was a bunch of people, but it was no one's ever done that. Then I would do like the double covers.
Then I was like I was coming with themed covers, like I was really you know, we were smoking, we were being the creative, very creative, very creative. We sit there smoke talk Dave and Dave as a monster with just writing everything down the notes. I mean, he's a monster with everything You're going this house, there's notes everywhere, Like you know what I'm saying. So you ever spent
money on um, that's stupid ass chain which one. I mean, buying all that juwilry and then only getting like a quarter of what you spend is the dumbest thing you could ever do. Like, that's just real ship. That's the biggest appreciation you could. You know, out of guns, some people invest in guns. You get more out of out of fire arms. Jesus, I don't know where we're going. There's people there, yes, I know people that just investment. I don't know where we're going because when laws changed,
the press goes up the guns. Yeah, you gotta drink something. You're just pouring some more in but you ain't drinking none of that. Come on, brother, Come on, brother, I don't know if you know this. This is a platform where we celebrate our artists. There's so many people, there's so many places that you go after so many years, they say, after you have ten years in this game, you're over. You actually had you're going on, Like, damn there thirty years in this game. Over thirty years, you
know what I'm saying. I would say, like, honestly, I would say when I was in my grandfather's basement and were spinning to be rail like that, you know, like your grandfather was racist too. Grand my grandmother works. Your grandmother wants was Puerto Rican? Okay, yeah, look like Puerto Ricans, right, Yeah, I had a darker skins. You a little light skin too. You should get over for Becans of Africans representative. Okay, okay, okay, what you just said were like the Puerto Ricans of Africans.
That with the Puerto Ricans. Yeah, I don't want to do like man. We gotta do one for Zeno. Let's not drinking time one and one strip. This is what the street stripes. I never seen you in a pair like. Let me tell you something. You're a real Bosston dude. I've never seen you in a pair of anything other than give us shot. It feels like shot god damnit. Yeah didas here. I ain't gonna lie. You got the Prince and ones on today. I respect those, but I've never seen you in lights. Come on ever, so I
need one? I need one? Yeah, yeah, give one, give up anyone? Okay, leave, you're gonna take one with us? Come on, it's like with us. Leave. I gotta drink this. Le starts speaking English perfectly after take spoil the spoil tyger bone. Yeah, a little we celebrate your career. Okay, you're being up to Okay, this is gonna be just brands where just going all right? So you're from Overlacka, you know what where we're at kat Cheers Tree Lanka.
Huh look that's bing bones love it hip hop Miami. Goddamn, let's him me late, hit me late, hit me late. You know what? Wh when did you come up with the tyger bone ship? I don't know. We've been drinking that forever too, Like you the only nigger on earth that they didn't put me onto it. We was all drinking at the same time. Side speed Jada kiss yeah, Jada kiss yeah yeah, and have the tiger you're back in the days. They should come with a tiger's bone in it. It's to be an actual bone. I see,
I see some green but see green tiger bone. It's called Nike Weill. You know it's good for your yang, you know, you know, like it's like a natural viators were drinking around. You're not gonna walk around knocking it down. But if you if you show up to the game, you're ready. You read it. You I ain't got nothing to say, ain't no bla So so you start getting serious. Open smoke, bro, I got you Oprah every month. You know what was gonna cover of Oprah's magazine every month,
Oprah Oprah. So why you didn't if you knew, if you knew that these guys were making a mutiny against you, these guys were saying that, why you didn't just go all out and put yourself on the because because I did? You did. I did that cover with was Shug kiss Nas and me and it made the American flag. It was a but I just again, I did that because it's like, you don't want to go by yourself. No, but no exactly, but niked with a motherfucking rainbow. Make
excuses up. Like I always again, I always felt like my music never guy to just do. I always felt like because it's like, oh, you know what I'm saying like this, it's the source is the gift and the curse for me. You know what I'm saying, Because really I always wanted to do music like I wasn't a magazine. I always knew that about you ever since I've met you. I know that your music, music is your passion is That's that's what I love. Your path, that's what I love.
That's what I started doing, like, but it always that's what I would do over. I'd be like I stayed the funk away. I wouldn't know it made the source and the staff and the college kids and all that ship, and I'll just stay stead the streets of my music because to be honest with you, you know what I'm saying, Like, that's where I'm more comfortable anyways. Now, now the great thing is I did learn business. I didn't learn how to be business oriented. And I got to sit in
something and you guys impacted the culture heavily. That was dope. But look at me ship like that. I don't even I'm telling you, I swear to God like you're a legend year that ship. Listen. I'm happy that I could still, you know what I'm saying, still be kind of relevant, still make music still, you know, be you know, a part of hip hop, you know what, cause I don't want to leave it. You know what I'm saying. I
still want to be a part of hip hop. So when I go places, whether it's through love and hip hop ship, I mean, people know me from the source. Um, Auntie, that's about forty fifty and all the way down to you know, eleven twelve year old like her daughter and everybody in between now from loving hip hip hop like the gangster. I'll be sure. No, I don't want to be there. I mean, did you say something else? I want to be that, But I was saying I was shooting there. Got to be a better. He's got to
realize your light skin. We try to act dark skin for you trying to do you got you gotta relax this lit be like the gangster like that's why you put the dead drops like it's different. I don't want to listen. Listen. I'll never even consider myself light skin. I didn't see all that ship. I've never seen the light skin. But I've never seen that ship like light skin. You know what I'm saying, Like any time I went to school, it was black white other because I got
my friend. For years, I've been seeing like you've been acting Bobby Brown brown, and I just always wanted to tell you, nig I never was like ever. That's why you can say that. I'd be like, man, I don't act like that. You're seeing act like I don't act like that. Oh my god, So I um suck ft sunny spot that so oh ship, oh, ship get five mis was he the first one to get five mics outcast? The first? The verse five Mike's had to be before that. Um, I believe the outcast first. A good question. It's a
good question. Yeah, that's a good question. So he normy thought that, you know, he thought that I was the one given mix. He never liked me, I would see nor I didn't like to see. He never really was up expect with what time we see, we see you talking about the show. They'd be a little short head bob like yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you know I'm saying that. He told me he was like I thought he was the one to give him. I was like no fun.
There was the bad articles like like like like, um, I used to always think that because that's what people told me. It was like like like those years that you named where you felt like it was in all be all see people didn't know that. People thought that. Once he was involved with the source, it was everything was you you know what I'm saying. So every time I ever got a bad review, absolutely was. I would read it and people like that MAGAZINEO what he got
against me and the crazy ship. I never actually went down and actually wrote to see that there was somebody
who put their name to the actual article. I never paid that till I got older, and I was like, damn, that might not be After all, I had my old I had, I had like I love hip hop, and of course I had people, you know, like I was a fan of Sartain artist, fan of a of a lot, but um, I just never was the one to be reading about motherfucker's And you started to beat between trialal quest and tupop, I started to beatould get so you just said the source awards was all you that that
that's crazy because the people would if he thought like that, how many other start like No, I definitely thought that. I definitely said he thought I'm guilty? Who PRIs yo? He said, Yo? Nobody was because because man I thought you was, I was like, no nigger because because they thought they should have got a five, I thought they should have got a five? Who the fujila they should have got a five? I ain't I should have got a four and a half. I got a four for
any nor I take a personal four. Four. You got two fous. I'm your two fous, But I know SIOK. The shock paid you off and ships. To be honest, he was motherfucker. So yeah, so we can't give silk shocking them blow ratings. They buy and s like twelve ads. Look at we did like twelve ads, So so okay, we'll give you twelve for twenty piece. Like come on.
Pete was like, would you've seen him? You would? It would be a partner source where it would just be all that, Like you know what I'm saying, Like, who the fund does that? Shout to master people. He sat in that same chip you're sitting that right now. We gotta shout out title check us at title dot com, Forward slast dream Champ, shout to massive Peal revolt, Yes, got to check us out. This mine's gonna be on
TV because I never get on TV. Well this we don't know what it was because I noticed that mine's never get on TV. Is this one't gonna be on TV? Or I'm gonna be like back in the room again, like we are you talking about? Saying? Man? I like you know, I'm like, damn, I did one of the first ones. It was pretty dope. And then he gets then he gets the revote joint right and I'm looking at all the revote ones and I'm like and then I'm seeing all the you know what I'm saying, all
the ads and everything. I'm like, this, ain't this a well we stepped it up? Saying this the fucking we don't get you know what you're saying, Just like, man, I'm like, well, is this one getting on? You know, I'm saying, what's the excuse we don't get paid off that as? We definitely don't get. But is this one getting on revote? This one? This one is going to be on? Yes, we have we have a different you watch title Internet. Yeah I haven't done that yet. Yeah,
I'm still TV now will be on YouTube? Reard to YouTube and I know it's on YouTube, but you want to be on there? But what about TV? It's not gonna be hip hop level? It's not hip it's not you think? Did you don't want me on revote? Not to do it? That I can you can do? Say that means whole Coo signs you brother. So so at one point, Height lives the game. Everybody you gotta go through bus you. Zeno also has a love life. He's knocking a lot of these girls down. It's crazy, man,
I mean you know, those are some good years. I ain't gonna lie. Those are some great years, phenomenal. I mean, those are some good years, you know. But you know I don't kiss and tell, yeah, because you know why, because there's somebody on the other end of that that you gotta respect, you know what I'm saying, Yeah, because
they might not want beyond blast like that. I mean me, I'd love to sit here and tell you intricate details and all that ship, you know what I'm saying, But you gotta respect people one the other end, on the other side who ain't here to speak up for them. So I don't kiss and tell. But you know, those are phenomenal years. We could say that, But did you give away mikes or some pussy? I mean, you don't gotta answer that. You ain't got a lot of got
a lot of technts. You look like you're sitting there ready, it ain't it ain't nothing wrong with that, Like if that's what it was back then, Like listen, right, match your question. Right, So if you won the magazine, and if this female artists out there, and if you you know what I'm saying, have a situation where you and the female artist is talking, and you'll have a relationship and everything, and then she has an album coming out. What would you do? Sound? This is sound a little
hobby Wine stage. Where are you going? No, I don't know what I'm saying. I would listen to her album. What would you do? Pass it off to the journalist, to y'all mad y'all gotta say some ship, but you gotta live. What would y'all do? Yeah? Tell you made a whole new mic system. I know you a trick. I see him have no money around. What did happens? You get your snicker? Just tell my show? Yeah, I mean you got to use your influence sometimes the ways
that's just how stuff happens. It's never a Harvey watch the situation because you know what I'm saying. What I'm saying that still too. You carry yourself a certain way, you know what I'm saying. The intrigue is on is in their mind and their hearts also, so you never had to Bill Cosby. Now come on, oh man, like I would never do no ship like that. I don't you know. My thing is if I can't, if she don't want me, I don't you know you know what
I mean? If she don't want me. Then that takes out you know a lot, like you want like part of you wanting her is her want you? That was hard? It was hard. That was that's the name of your book? What like? She looked good saying that that was all That was a ball. That was a ball. So um. But you had a lot of fun. Did you have a lot of fun? You had a lot of fun. You had j album. Yes, I have a lot of fun. I was the fun would you have? I was a horror? That was a horror. Yes, that was a whore. I
was next, but I ran across the same. But I started to realize I was easy. So then I started to realize I can't be easy out here on these holes. Yeah, I was easy that I talked to the ship. I was drinking. Yeah. At nineteen, I realized I was a joke. Bof I was like, it was just leasy. I said, hold up, I'm gonna think about it. I'm gonna about it. You wanted a threesome. They to training. Think about the two girls the tricks train zone training. But it's two bitches.
But what was happening? This is about you today. Ask you a question, have you have you ever data celebrity, uh not dated smashed the celebrity. I think that's what you really meant. I was trying. I was trying. Yeah, okay, okay, imagine your question. Did you fall in love with him? No, you didn't fall in up? Have you ever fall in up with with a celebrity? No, there wasn't a celebrity or not what I was dealing with. It was pre
celebrity celebrity. Yeah, I knocked a couple of down. If that's what you're trying to get that I knocked a couple of them down. I ain't knocked down and give ads or like you know, because yeah, no, no, I mean listen listen to mean that. I mean it's not like you know, but I would have if I would have had listening, I would have put myself in a couple of the magazine every two months? Is the piston
niggers off? No, I'm saying, if you got the magazine and the Source Awards and like, there's a certain celebrity you're liking, and somehow, some ways she's interested in hosting it because you can sliding the d in, but you was sliding in the idea. Is it fair to said everybody here has a celebrity that like a celebrity crush. All right, So if you had the opportunity and like to let her host the Social Awards, you know what I'm saying, would you do that? That's the Social Wards now, Okay?
Lisa Ray hosted the Sound Lab, Little Kim hosted the Social Wards. Right, No Kim host Social She gave out a water something. She was a part of everything. No, I'm She's gonna be on here soon. That'll be dope. And Foxy Brown too as well. That'll be dope. That'll BEP, That'll be dope. Definitely. I'm gonna watch those. Yeah, definitely, man, definitely. So where's your favorite? Bevot? But I bet you y'all laughing. Watch watch y'all can see that. As for a little
kid things, y'all gonna laugh. Y'all't be sitting there watch the TV with your girls. She to be sitting in the argo. Come up, you're like that crazy, So you know you can't get me three months of title. So what's the favorite what's your favorite part of the game? The music studio niggas, you know what I'm saying. Smoking, everybody like positive, happy, having a good time, like all on one page like this, this is the most dopest part.
That's why I come in for this because niggas don't do this, like you know what I'm saying, Like you like like you actually take your niggas and make them a part of it and that's the fun of it. Like that's that's that's that's that's what I love about hip hop and the game, like like the fun saying the money makes you crazy? You ever? You ever m because we all go through this, but you ever like you know when you miss understood, like like how do
you go about that? Like you know what I'm saying, because like I remember when you first um started using the internet, you would actually try to meet people like somebody say something and I just want to stay away from my fucker's I felt like again I was I felt like again all these years of going through the ship with the industry. You know what I'm saying. I just you know what I'm saying, Like I go get with the streets, you know, Like once I get with
niggas in the streets, they don't judge me. The streets don't judge. That's what I'm saying about the streets, like wherever the fund you're going through, you can go to that block and no one's not gonna say nothing, even if you tell them about a lost seven million dollars my home kid, and motherfucker's just like you're passing me things for display, some second smoke, some weird motherfucker's don't care about that. And that's why I like that to me, is like you need that in life, you know what
I'm saying. You need that because you know, you know, because you see me money, losing money, losing source losing. Look, I had games, you have losses. You have games, But why I come from ship, you know what I'm saying. I feel like, what the funk? This ain't that bad anyways, you know what I mean? So when you go back there, you just once you always go back then want you because I stay in the hood wherever I live, wherever
I go, I stay with hood niggas. I just want to be in the hood with hood niggas because that's what the most most comfortable. But that's because you don't if you take these losses, you don't. Oh my god, what is anybody gonna think? What is it? Like? I wasn't supposed you know, I had a good run, you know what I mean. So you know, you up, you down, you hustle, you know what I'm saying. You know that we talked about it. So let's so let's address the elephant in the room. What is you and Dave May's
relationship standing at this very moment? Where's the elephant that you know imaginary? Um? I mean, you know me and Dave, Me and Dave was together since seven. Dave's the god well the supposed godfather of Coy. Dave knew me when I had no kids, I mean, Dave, the federal indictments, uh, you know, all the fun asks, all the problems, the beefs, the guns, the shootings that there's that the day has been a part of my life almost every day of my life. Four or five different cities we don't lived in.
I mean, so it was over twenty some years. So it was just and we went through a lot together. It was just the time that Dave do him and me do me, you know what I'm saying, and just give each other, give each other break, you know what I'm saying. Because again, we were together a lot, and you know, was it hip hop weekly? Because like, um, you guys, you know after the Hip Hop Weekly was just because you know, like once once we lost the Source, I just had an idea for like Dave still want
to really be in the magazine game. You know what I'm saying. Not so much people you don't understand. You know, the source was lost if they heard the story, but a bad investment with the internet in the early nineties with Source dot com and it crashed and you know, took out a massive bank. Yeah, crashed because all the early cala the whole thing. But the idea, they were just before their time, all right, So you know you know what I'm saying, Like we just put the magazine
out and had an idea. But at that point it was just like magazines was falling anyways, Vibe fell, Excel, every all the magazines was following Print wasn't you know what I'm saying. Everything is on the phone now. So you know, we did Hip Hop Weekly, paid the bills or whatever, but it wasn't It was just like a quick patch up. You know, I could say this about Dave.
When we lost the Source, Dave a piece of that piece of Dave went with it, Like you know, I could I could I could see that that hit Dave way harder than it hit me, you know what I'm saying, So that I feel for Dave for that, you know what I'm saying. But you can't take away anything now, I know when people go their separate ways. Dave's gonna want to do his side of the story, right, and I got my side of the story. You know, it's unfortunate that we could. We couldn't tell listen to staffords
who want to Everybody wants the Source story. Everybody, everybody, everybody wants to do the Source story. And it's gonna come. But it's gonna be like from what I say, it's gonna it's like how like the Tupacs. It's like a hundred different Tupacs. That's what's gonna happen with the Source. And I feel like this. I feel like without me, you know what I'm saying. There's no story without without me, without me, without me, It's it's just it's just um.
So you're saying that there's a story being made right now or a film or something. No, I mean, everybody's trying to make their own. Everybody's trying to make their own, you know, everyone eventually wants to put out the Source story. Yeah, it absolutely can't be without you, But they're gonna have to tell it. You know, Dave has his side and show that the couple of the editors have their side perspectives. I mean, that never happens. A lot of things should happen,
you know what I'm saying. What I'm saying, but but the reality is that's not gonna happen. So I'm gonna tell my side, you know, you know, I gotta. And it's not just the Source, Like my life story has a lot more chapter because after the Source, I went on, after hip Hop Weekly, I'm still moving this different things and before the Source there was a lot so um, you know, but the Source was because that was a big part of the culture. Those eighteen years we had.
It was an amazing eighteen years because it was ups and years years. We got a long time. You think, hell yeah, and we got good, we got we gotta remind people this is pre internet. The Source was the lifeline for hip hop. Source was amazing. I can see a big piece of magazine like that with the writing and everything. I mean, there was some amazing pieces in there, and that's why I don't want people to think of college. No, no, No,
they did some amazing stuff. I just think that there's a split between the streets in college that kind of hip hop had a lot to do with. It was a split, and I just felt like, you know, I tell the story again all the time, you know, like a little brother. They gave them four and a half and then they gave Jesus First album three, and I'm like, wow, how how could you give them three? Because they didn't
understand trap music. They don't understand the streets. So it's not fair for people to rate something that you don't understand it. And that's just what I always felt like, that's you know what I'm saying. You know, so I probably deserved five because the college niggas I knew, I just couldn't hind pointed. Now, So, um, you got got the sauce. You moved to Miami, Miami, start, you started hip hop weekly, then all of a sudden, pack your bags, you moved to Atlanta, which is um not abnormal for
people in our industry. But what was abnormal was for us to see Miss you know who we looked at as street guy, gangster to go on a reality television show, but not only going to get you got the other lighter? Come on, you ain't come my lighters over here? All right, let's do it. So come on, actually got the other one right there and watching watching on your light of thieves, my nigger, I'm on point, thank you. So um so, what makes you even not only get into a reality show?
I mean I know, but okay recently, but you actually it looked like from where the peers from the outside of looking in, um, it appeared. Look, he was actually looking for love like when you first joined. Uh yeah, I think I think you know, I was, I was single, so you know what I'm you know, I mean, I'm getting up there in age, so yeah, you know, definitely
looking for someone that I can rock out. I think like having the right partner, you know what I'm saying, especially now in this industry, I think you could do amazing things, you know what I'm saying. And I felt like being on TV who slipped in the tangle. Let's be ready? You know he was ready? Yeah? All right, come on, are we ready? Baby? Saw a little another one another one at another one right there right there. Yeah, part of the show. We're putting this Zeno feature in
the y'all slow solo. I hate It, love it Okay, Now I got that. Um were talking about gotta do it my left hand. So so the hip hop yea love and hip hop? He was looking he was looking for love or was that for cameras? I mean you no, I was. I was actually like, you know what I'm saying. I felt like, first I didn't go on, they're looking for like I went on and just giving Stevie advice. They heard me talk. I was driving Stevie to the set. He had his mike mike on on. They were still listening.
He came. We smoking weed in the car between his takes, and he was at that time he was like he was caught between the two. And I'm like, say it with me. I could be a monoga come from Like, so that's so, so you started and then so your first love interest was Carlie rad got your question. I mean this was on the show. I was like your questions. No, but you wanted to be talking about loving hip hop. Drink of course. Man. Yeah, I'm the biggest love of hip hop fan. I'm gonna be honest. We had our
whole episode. That's just the new Jerry Springer. You know, I stopped watching Jerry Springer because I watched Love of Hip Hop Let's go, and I'll be watching Jerry Springer for eighteen years. How about that? You know what I'm saying to the spot ahead. So um, yeah, so that was your first love interest right now? That was not for the camera like that was like, well we started
dating before I got on Love and Hip Hop. I was again bringing Stevie to the mean Stevie staying together uplana, you know what I'm saying, bringing them to the set because Carlie was cool with Johnson at the time. I don't know. I just met her off set and she was like, you know, we was hoppling and then we hooked up and then and then know next thing, you know, I get a call like what if your day? And Momona had called on like if your day in somebody
from the you know, you should come on. I was like, Okay, that's that's how that's how, that's how it happened. And then I felt like I felt like, I'm on TV. She's cool. Why not? I felt like maybe she's at the age where she didn't want to bullshit no more. Because I'm at the age whe I don't want to bullshit. I feel see, I feel like if I feel like, it's not like, you know, you have to find that
special person. But I'm so grounded and I know what I want and what I don't want now is that I feel like, if you know, I could get with a person, if they just have a good heart and everything, it's not too like I can get along with anybody at this point in my life. At that point, I was ready. You know what I'm saying. She wasn't ready. So what made you not because she wasn't ready? You no, No, you didn't give her a ring? Yeah, because she cheated? Oh on an episode in real life too, but I
was very real. Hold on, hold on, she didn't set on the show though in real life she cheated. Oh, but you didn't say that on the show, because on the show you just closed. Well. I just remember. I just remember it, like I remember you was staying together. She coming in mad early. I'm like, listen, you just can't be coming in mad early. I don't know if you think just for TV, but I'm just not gonna
keep going with this, you know what I'm saying. In real life, coming in early, like like five and five, six in the morning. Then after that there was some ship on the blogs that she was sucking niggers. Now, I'm gonna be honest, I like when I wasn't. I wasn't devastated though, so so I was like, oh my god. I just I just was like, okay, hold up, hold up, since you're not ready, then I just want to break
this off. It wasn't no disrespect against her. I just was like, I don't want to look like no fool if we're not on the same page, you know what I'm saying. And so that's when I was I told the producers, I'm not doing the ring thing. You know what I'm saying. I probably was gonna get engaged to you know what I'm saying, and try to try to do something with her. Have our own show, do our own know what I'm saying. We're on TV. Let's you know what I'm saying. That's like people want to see love.
You know why I love and hip hop is probably popular, you know what I'm saying, because people are going through these things. Man, you know what I'm saying. When and when I came on, I didn't mess with two women at a time on love and hip hop ever ever, Okay, so women looked at that, and you know, because I didn't want I wasn't gonna do that, Like I'm not gonna go on and date two different chicks on it was a little bit of a little bit of bandy at one point. No, it was Callie. Carlie was out
of the picture. Me and baby started days. Okay, Yeah, she was gone after No there no, no, there isn't there isn't there no, there isn't. But I love it hip hop. See but I love it hip hop. They'll set it up now to where you're chilling at dinner. Yeah, baby, the here she comes. No, like, I'm just not with that. I love you that, I don't you know me, I'm like, I'm not with that all day. Right, I'm not with the face out here knocking too chicks down. No, but look at look at no No, no, I gota front.
We are entering a different zone right now where a lot of ships being tolerated. I just I just I just know me. I don't mean where I'm at now. I only have them for one Yeah, I can't, I can't, okay, right, all right, right, all right, right, right right, there's nothing at all. Wait what did she say? I'm sorry, I'm the main one? And then woman right, woman, right right, tell me I'm a woman, our bird down, but you still want some side playing. No, I think you're talking
about female all right, right, damn, I don't know. I still much to enjoy your fucking hip you know, still like yeah, so you're gonna let him get That's what my authority as your woman. You don't make you fun? Right, that's oh right right right now, kidding she got got sunny whisper something like, just got real he crilly never that's dope. So I just don't me. I don't have look here, look I don't I never was a nigger
while I wanted chicks fighting on me. In real life, I'm just a real low key nigger, like I've messed with a lot of celebrities. The reason why people don't know because I was a low key nigga. You know what I'm saying, like so on on on on love and hip hop. I'm not gonna put myself in positions to be getting popped upside the head and who you know what I'm saying, I'm not I'm not all right, we got an accident. I don't want that. Yeah that I got you. That was real, man, baby, because drinking.
Oh yeah, I'm drinking. Brother, I'm not drinking. I'm ready for another shot to you. Ready, three dreams, lucky number that we can split that up. Let's lose. Oh no, no, no, no no, you might just stick chams. Don't be having like mad tiger bone. Yeah my crib. I don't like to bring it. Yeah, yes, split with your girl, split with checker out, yes, spit, split it half and half with girt. Okay, yeah, a woman? Sorry? So what's your name again? From New York? Okay, my name is Anika Na.
That's like Nicki Mina's real name too, right now from Hustling So okay, okay, all right, I'm an artist, artist, and I'm already gonna feel bulls because I already seen in a future. So that being sad, yea, it's a good day. All right, let me get some I'll take a shot with y'all with man, motherfucking long time. No other one. You don't you know? You know the other one? The other one? Yeah, yes, yeah, the other one. Yeah, there we go. There. It's a Colombian white. Yeah, bad,
I'm feeling the saucy right now. I'm gonna lie as you should. Yeah, I'm doing this shot with y'all. Y'all smoke. No, he just harry on the weekend. On the weekend, I got no tracks though, Salo, Salo, where's yours? You took it? You took it already, it's Done's gonna make talkable. Let's take a shout and do say that other There you go, girl, that's a riding right there. Actually gonna let you smash
other people. God, damn man good rible solid. Oh yeah, all right, well manahay, I'm not I'm not gonna lie. You know this is stove yea. And even though it's a third time, right because the second time, the third time we went to the fourth time, I was h for the for the baby niggas, damn you broke yep. Yeah, yeah, you're drink champel. You gotta get your chain next time. The documentary already said, give me a chain. It's gonna be the Dominican chain like this gonna be like I
just want to get out the vote one time. Come on, you don't want Yeah, pick up the cool in the building as well. Google yeah, I mean that's my come on, my boy, my Boston family nugs without nugs, he drink cancer dugs should have a T shirt going ten years strong? Wait what do you say? Inside? So alright? So not I loving hip hop? Now you become adapted because TV famous different from you know, the magazine World World telling you, man, it is nothing to me. I'll just be like I
like to smoke weed, I like to talk. Said, I don't. I don't even that ship is. I don't. I'm telling you, I don't be seeing it. It's cool when people know you. Sometimes it's a pain of ask I'm saying, But it's love always, So I don't look at it. Man, telling you I'd be I'd be always thinking the next way to get the next bag. I always got things to him do I got bills, court payments, child support? You know, I don't know. I mean that celebrities ship is, um,
that's a that's a that's a mirage. That's a fucking mirage. You know, that's like it's not there. You know what I'm saying. Like, it's cool if you want to feel special, you know what I'm saying, Because people think it's special. But if they already think you special? Then why you gotta feel special? Why don't you just be cool and just be the way you are. I don't want to be like a because when you look at the real type of celebrities, like the attitudes fund up. I don't
want to put the poxide in. He didn't do this to nas. Now you're shout out to nas man, but damn left right, just what it's real. It's real. Like you know, I know for years, bro, you have you had the dump paste on too when you first sposed to the bench and he was like, yeah, I said, thinking like Derek zu Land and I called you too, and that's how I knew I could talk you out of it. He was like, you see, I'm killing him. I about to say he did kill He said, you see,
I'm killing him, young swag. I say, see, I can't out of it. Look, I just reworded. I forgot, I forget who I seen I was. I've seen somebody. I was like, Yeah'm gonna try to hmm. It had to be like Chris Brown. Caye think it might have been Chris Brown told you you tell kinetically. I think it was, yeah, tellically, tellically. Chris Brown shout of Chris Brown, man, Chris Brown, greed and everything, and then nigger changes next day. It hurt me.
Hurt me, It hurt me. Chris row it up. But okay, so now you you're going through this transition and you isn't the time we had to choose? Like you can't say something? When you start talking like that, that's when you're like, you're serious CNN Mari Shaffer like like when you just did that, I know as you do that, it's like, okay, time gets seriously, Yeah, I got your
back like that. So so because because you know, the thing is it's a facade, like you know, the love of hip hop crowd like that's that's that's a six seven million people watching per week. Correct my numbers off, you're absolutely correct. So so you're going from that where you're basically behind the scenes in the sauce partner, still behind the scenes, going from behind the scenes going straight to the front line. How was the difference from that?
And then how did you do? What about? What about? I had a couple of hit records. He's talking about what I'm saying, even the music, it's music I don't know, but even the music, even the TV fame is different from music fame. You can't compare video or hit record to love and hip hop fame was big. That's the biggest that the TV fame was. I didn't even expect that's going seven million every day, I think seven millions
to this day. To this day, I can't go no hood nowhere, like everybody's auntie trying to holler at me, trying to take you down. Everybody's auntie. You know what I'm saying, I love it wherever I go to his auntie's all over America. What I'm saying America dot Com. I'm talking older women sixties and seventies and Walmart would be like, I love you with Walker, you know how like you know what the oldest lady ever took thet keep it real, keeping the oldest lady you ever took down?
You like you took down a seventy nine year old nothing night year old. My god, I'm gonna keep it. I'm gonna keep it one. What's the oldest I like younger women, okay, but what's the oldest you had an old night? Um? Everyone had an old night? Maybe forty something, forty Come on, I'm telling disappointment have you have you have you you? You have scraped the sixty ye old. I had a big night. I have an old night. I had a big night. I had a big night
one night, six biggest size a biggert age. Had to take one for the team, had to take one team didn't know but you're forty. How old were you when? When it was forty? Probably was like, like, I mean, I've been old a long time, been a while, so it doesn't matter. Like I just don't you know, there's nothing like you know what I'm saying. I'm not saying that I wouldn't. There's some beautiful the women out there, some Cruger's Cruger's out there, A cougar. I just I
just you prefer um, younger woman. What is the male version of Kruger? The male version of cougar? Um? I guess I'm the black panther. That's definitely not any cause Daddy Sugar Daddy should Daddy Sugar Daddy is somebody who takes care to young chick. You can't be taking care. I'm done with that. If you listen, let me tell you something. I've given gifts. I've done a lot for women. If we heard you, boy, cars and all that. That was a real nigger ship. I bought cars and juice.
Make some noise for godjam. That's so, that's all for the record, that's all. If your mom, if your month, if you're queen, you nothing you can't get. There's nothing you can't get. But as far as just to be like just dating and just like you know what I mean now, like because the worst thing is you spend all this money and then she's gone, come on, the worst part is, yeah, you're stuff. Ain't you gonna have anything? Somebody else? And then tell you about it? And you
know how she's supposed to go tell me about that wife? No? How right and right, don't don't don't, don't do it. Don't do it right, Sonny ten Mike's cri crill, crill. That's whatever he's going going that way, Tim, Mike, take another shot on the SA No, no, no, we got Let's do at can you for the moment with some surrid Yes, come on, I got surprised is the best. Let's go to class sold their guys, can they take a shot. Ain't gonna do with you? Nig Let do
it good? It's about you about about about yes, I got saloo about. Come on, we have come to you. Listen, man, we are celebrating you tonight. We are celebrating you, Tonite and Anika. Let's he's a real slow slow slow. That's clear being around the legend. That's right, so zeno so she'll night. Damn that escalated quickly he comes on, come on, are you are you bringing up old ship? He's like, no revolt, I'm not here. You did I'll swim with cool never they never had beef, always love just did
you know me? And did he? This song together it's called Who's Been Seen Him? Yeah? And what he? No? No, you did the ad lit but it jog that's did he falls? That's the diddy cam. Right. They get to see every episode and they get the big which ones they picked up? But this is the watermelon is like the greatest. Let me tell you about surrock. Remember on the first summer day, on the frest summer day, noticed that ship. That's that ship. Can can we do a safety?
We need to know another one. So now all right, let's go to Sugar Night. Then I'm gonna go to rock the party. But sure knight, you guys are throwing this award show right, we're in New York City. Suge Knight is told to present the award or he's giving an award. I forget how that's going. Then they win an award. He didn't over year or something like that. Oh no, I'm not sure. I just remember him just going up there and saying what he said, niggas don't
remember about the award. That's what's so iconic about the moment. Nobody remembers nothing about that. You just remember the moment. The moment was during New York. They had about forty bloods and crypts and in the audience it probably was probably was the first time that's ever happened in New York, New York. So you know, you you automatically thinking it's going down at some point, you know what I'm saying, it's just when That's why I was like, it's just
a matter of time. But when he once he said that, then that's when I was like, oh, yeah, it's going down. But I think I think I think Snoop. I think Snoop's moment was the moment because because when Snoop grabbed it, people thought his attitude and his demeanor was that he was getting ready to say fun New York. He was like he foxed with New York. I don't know where I'm at, like right there, and then it kind of confused.
At that moment, it was like wait a minute, that was ready to like and it was like, oh ship, like he just he just kind of you know what I'm saying. It was almost like he's so so so I think that moment. I think that moment was I think I think because of Snoop. You know what I'm saying. It didn't it didn't go crazy. It didn't get to where probably could have. Um, I was backstage when it happened. And you know, I mean, think about it. These niggas
just haven't made your beef. So you know what I'm saying. When you think about it, it was kind of light. You know what I'm saying. I've seen worse. Ship. You know what I'm saying. You know you know what I mean, Like, I mean, those words are famous when you know, all up in the videos. But I don't want to say that because I funk with did he No, No, that's okay. He enjoys the history. He spoke about this on him. Yeah, really,
what do you say about it? He actually said that it was Jermaine Duprit that he thought he was talking about that. He said that we could go flat on and said, that's not exactly different thing about did he did. He's a motherfucker what he did. He could say some ship like that, like everybody was talking about. Let me, let me retract my statement. He said. He said that he stepped the show, and Shook said that to him. He said, Shook said, I was not talking about you,
I was talking about Jamaine dupri Oh. He said that that's what said. Wow, that's a big piece I didn't know that. Yeah, that's what he said. We could flash back. That's a big piece of news right there, because yeah, if he's if that's what if that happened, then you know. But then Jamine dupri was saying that wasn't the case. He don't know what if they spoke. You know, his story, my story, everybody's story. You know what I'm saying. You know, at the end of the day, this is why I
got out of it. That but we had bad Boy that did they hold set with all their groups and we had motherfucker death Row with all this ship that was iconic. The other ship just made it a little, you know, because listen, the east and West will kind of be from at that time, you know what I'm saying. So you know, it could have went a lot worse. I think, I think when you think about it and you put in perspective, it really wasn't ship. It was cool.
What do you miss or if if you do at all, what do you what do you what do you miss most about being part owner of the source? Um? The money? No? No, no, I mean, like I said, back then, just the time, you know what I mean, like the time. I mean, we live in a different time, you know. You know that, you know if if you're of age, you know, back then it was just it was without computers. Life was dope for to meat, you know what I'm saying. It was just we was in the streets. People were out
in the streets. You had things to do. People were out in the hoods. People were working with each other in the hoods. Everybody's like you could be always like was like this. So it's you know what I mean, it's just different. I looked at the Rocketfeller Tree one day and they like put like these names and they put how many people that got put on through Rocketfeller. If we could name people that got put on through
the source. We're talking about Elliott Wilson, We're talking about Mike Elliott, other basketball, Chimo Sarrio, We're talking mis uh Rigs, the guy that did the Tupac thing. Uh Frank Frank he just did the Tupac Uh, the Tupac story, that Tupac documentary on A and E. Frank something, Frank Something, Yeah, yeah, he produced their um tatari we TV producer. You go on and on all over the place. I was like, if you had sauce on your resume. Look. Hip hop
then got so big. These corporations, they only want to take them on who they feel is non violent and you know, you know college and you know what I'm saying. So they're the ones, and God bless them, you know what I'm saying. But Frank Frank, Now, so I don't. I don't remember Frank Frankie Frank, one of them. Goddamn it, Lisa, Frank Alexander, Now, what was your worst cover? You ever made?
The worst cover ever? One of them was, um, I remember we put Gotti on the cover because at that that point, everybody so we was already losing the source. At that point we knew it. It was just amount of time. So one of our last covers was the Earth and um at that point phenomenal. Now I didn't do too well only because then nobody was you know,
at that point. See when the Eminem beef, hap was saying they smell pussy, when Eminem beef was happening, right, so I got cool with y'all and murder, ain't you know what I'm saying because we was basically neighbors, Our kids grew up together. My niggas and especially a lot not just not just job, but it's it's it's all murder. Ain't a bunch of niggas, So you know, you know, I mean a lot of niggas. So yeah, yeah, you know. So um, you know, I felt like I'm beefrom with Eminem.
The situation Eminel, they're beefrom with fifty you know, it's looking like your enemies. My Yeah, it was weird because you know when that should happened. This is that's how weird shit is. It's how weird shit is. This. This is some weird ships. On fifty fourth Street there was the Hit factory where they were fifty gone to the Beef with job right, I'm at Sony Music. That's on fifty four Falso, these are two huge studios in New York at the time they both closed down. Yeah, it's
on the same street. It was on the saying you've been to both. Remember the Sony hip Hop room was downstairs in the basement. Alright, so cool, Jesus said of made men smoked cigarettes. So you gotta go outside and do everybody shot. When you said get a shot at for everybody, you don't be us to leave right now, let me to leave it last. I got my look yeah, yea yeah continue so so so I guess so Jesus
is upstairs. Now he brought fifty downstairs to the room and I'm playing John Madden when fifty comes up and it was like, yo, now what fifty is this? This is prior to it was whatever the time that they got to the beef at Factory. Yeah, that was after the That was after that. Yeah, but I you know, I had I had fun with Red Hot Love of Tone them you master Tone. Did you know that ninety one we was on tour and Niggas was gonna funk Red Hot Love of Tone up in North Carolina. And
you know what I'm saying. I think I was the only one with a blink with on tour. Had to pull it out and save his life. And he'll tell you that, but that's before he was track masters. Saved his life. Okay, when we could get around of applause for that, save his life, come out, come on, as long as that news. You know that, nigga, do not pass the blunt, bro. He'll look at that. He'll look look, you got another one. He'll look at you and just talk to you too, like yo, listen, man, you're like yo,
pass the fucking weed. You're a bad guy. Give it to give it up. She needs it. Come on. So so so he got so whatever happened at Hit Factory, he ended up running down to the end up ended up down at Sony with us who were talking about right now. I didn't know John him then. Back then it was like you, I'd see we maybe because I had rocked the party and you had what what? John probably had a song, He got a bunch of them, he had all right. So so we're doing a little shows. Holla.
So we're doing shows and we might see each other and we're giving these up the shorthead Bob. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you say we don't like each other, you got your so Me and Rud wasn't even cool, you know what I'm saying. And then um when he came down, and I was like, let's say, fifty was standing over there and I'm playing and I'm looking at Jesus like the sniggers just bringing Niggs down into the fuse. But it was cool, you know what I'm saying. We we kicked it,
you know what I'm saying. For him, And he showed me where I guess he had got stabblished something on the side or whatever. And he showed he had a little three two or thirty eight and it didn't have any shells in it. And he said the nigger he was wet, had the gun and the gun fell, but it didn't have no bullets in it. And he was explaining the situation. And then I ended up calling him a car service and I got him, and I think he went to Bellevue. He might he might have went
to the hospital. I really don't know where he went after that, right, And that was that was the story. But then fast forward, I moved to side the river and our kids, my son is with y'all's son, my daughters with Joab's daughter, growing up together. I'm beat from whatever them he's beat from. So it's just weird how ship there's like growing up hip hop real life. It's crazy.
It's crazy. How how how ship happens? Because me and fifty never had no beef, right, you know it was with eminem seeing each other in the club the other day, Right, I think I seal some footage I was. He actually shouted you out. He actually said Benzino's in the building, I see you, nigger or something. Yeah, seen footage online. I'm on point at my point. Yeah, yeah, nah, no, it was you know what I'm saying. So, I mean, you know it was you know what I mean, Like,
I never really had beef with fifty. It was no beef with fifty. You know what I'm saying. It's just that job was beetrom with fifty and me and job's cool a right, you know what I'm saying. All Right, that's some real production ship you just did, like why we're doing back? Yeah, he just told me to put just a real production the other one. What's this? Yeah? You just said it's great, So I was great. The
afternoon when it's time. You can't turn about around. Listen, listen, turn about no joke, no joke on a summer afternoon, like like all jokes aside, right on summer afternoon when it's fun with some concala with a beautiful woman with a string bikini on on a beautiful beach. We got some of this right, and we got we got what we got, so we got right. I feel like it's cocaine involved as well, a little bit. You can come now,
it's gonna keep my ship. I gotta take my some on the cameras want to kill you know what, y'all need drink champ coasters, the drink so right, that's all right. Just just take the stickers and put them on something. You know what I'm saying. Drink camp stuff. That'sh you fuck me up, ship, let's you know, Pep the smoke champ. Yeah, another one. They never tape of backwards. This is tobacco freed backward. Come on, this is this is our ship. Come on the whole boy, trusty house. It's not a dirty right there, the catip to the coat. But we're just gonna try to trick you. But let that up. Light that up. I remember one time I did an interview with Trick. Right, so, Trick is next to me and Ship. I'm in Miami and he's smoking and we just smoke. Were just just
smoking and I'm smelling the weed. I'm like, I'm smoking, believe, But I noticed that the blunt was real thin, and Ship I was like, probably just doing like a lot of weeding this blunt. That motherfucker. Let that bitch up. I was like, new check New Jack City. Remember the part of the basement right there, giving you like, I'm gonna keep it one tho. I don't smoke back It's okay. Just take a couple of hits. How about that? Yeah, that's we didn't there were dude, give us a commercial.
I'm gonna tell you what it tastes like, the Polar smooth. I can't front backwood. I'm kno gonna lie. And there's not a backwood. It's a fact of wood. It's a fake backwood. And I don't feel dizzy and it's sweet. It's because no tobacco. I have little hints of like honey, I have hints of sugar, sugar. You know what I'm saying. I can't I can't take too many hits in that darns on the front. Back to the regular bunk. Let get that with my ship. I'm gonna take that back.
I'm dizzy as fun from that ship right there. Man, that commercial that was dope. That was dope. I was fucked up. That ain't gonna lie. I got one more shot left in me. You crazy. No, he's not even drunk livers like. Man, please, we got this. You can drink my nigga. No, man, it's all good. Man. So listen. You've been throughout the whole industry, right, You've been inside backside and hold on, I forgot, hold hold on, hold on, hold hold on. Forgot. I meanted to say inside outside.
I'm sorry, I said backside. No, No, I just gonna get my serious face. You've been in you've been in culinary arts. If you had to pick one, and I don't know we answered that in a different way. You said music before, but if you had to it was reality. If you had the top, you know, reality person uh to produce a show for you right now, or you had the top person to uh put you your restaurants.
I'm just it just like if you had you had a choice between what you question, you had the choice were doing could be some questions and restaurant or music to I would want music. I wouldn't want reality show, reality show, reality show over a restaurant. Yeah, because because the reality show is gonna show me at my restaurant. Ray Kwon voice good kuam voices, because like we'll be talking to Ray Kwan, like Ray be serious. They'll be like every time we do that, we'd be like boys.
And where you getting cocaine? Cocaine? Don't you know? You listen, you're falling off. Yeah. Oh, let's make some noise for that shop. I got out of the gut of I got the because you know, man, we celebrate people careers here. Man, you know what you've been up here for thirty years? Who help wrong? That was a big bigger That wasn't a bigger years. It's but today it's about you and I'm bigging you up. I'm just saying that there's a lot a lot of people who can stand the test
of time, like you. A lot of people there's not a lot of people who can transition pass it back though, but just the last one, Listen, there's not a lot of people who can transition like you, who can stayd tall and not complain and just sit there and just find a different way, to find another huss to find another way, to find another fucking outlet to eat from.
From you being a culinary expert, from you know, cooking too, you know, being the reality TV to running the whole magazine, to running groups, to motherfucking you know doing music, from rock the Party to Mario Winners and all that. You've got Mario Winers, you know what I mean to to he smokes weed and all that. Like the first nig to turn me on. The seven different types of weeks we went. You're not PoCA? Yeah? I like, but but I like teaching on and I

I haven't did Molly in three years. But I'm gonna looking at you in your face out of a man and man and that I'm not gonna tell you Anna not gonna do one again no, I like it. I like, how do you feel off a Molly? I performed how Star? I love it? I love it, I love it. I'm you

He asked, but you're putt Yeah, there's no way your face like a like about prejudice, I didn't say. No, I'm not being credit because of who you are. We already knew you man. You oldre your the bottle just against Haitians. He's right, that was him. No, No, I'm talking about sunny. I'm pretty to getting sunny. You're automatically well whatever they say. But I'm just I've never bo It's really obviously that you would ask pregatory. No, hold on, I ain't hold on. I ain't never heard it yet

So I'm going right, human, right, right, fucking right. Yea, that's right, that's right. She might eat your ask tonight. I think that's good time you out. Yet we're about done anyway. I don't mind that. No, we don't want that. No, actually smoking and no, just ad that's big, that's big. Come on, we're gonna get
another shot. Come oh ship y'all just sneaking shot. So you ready ready? Yeah, I'm not ready. I'm that's your question. That's your questions. I mean when when when um TEO and Y came out right yes, and and the streets was buzzing, the streets, was you know what I'm saying, did you fail like this is what you've always dreamed about? This is what I'm saying. Was that the moment where music? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
but what I'm just I'm you finish your question. I'm sorry, no, because but no, no, no, but you answered it way too fast, okay, because yeah, just tell me that when I just want because that was. That was my choint, not nigger like that was. I was like, who is this nigger? Everybody said, And his voice sounded like a Puerto Rican nigga. You know what I'm saying. He sounded. He didn't sound like a straight nun. He came in like pocan also prejudice because I'm not a straight nigger.
He just he just said somebodations. Okay, we all prejudice. No, you shot your shot. Stop wanting that down the dry ass couple do say that. You do not even picsh that purpose of the mic. That's drink Champs drink Solottle Slottle so a drink, Yes it is. You can find him on eight nine dot com. You like you can ask you a question when when y'all give me something? Drying a T shirt? Nothing, no saying no T shirt? We got we gave speaks to me every every time
it sends me nothing. Yeah, found like, I don't say nothing. I got you. He's in charge of the merch. He's in charge. I'm not in charge of the merch. Don't put that on me. I'm not ready. I put it on with a blood a man. Jesus, Come on, you are the blood cat you are catching save a Blood. Did you know that I produced a song with him and p on priz h and not c with him,
and that song is fire? Yes? Specific can you? Can you play that song on your podcast as I'm talking about that, because we have to actually own a material that we play. That's because Jeff two times JP that for that. Um No, but I'm going to get my my NOS plaque in that plaque. Wasn't we all in
Vegas when Prodigy passed away? We'll all have just seen you, just ran on stage with you and just seeing you, and that's when I happened, and you did my my food show before that or after that, after that week after that, because that's why you have flew me down there.
And I came from the airport straight to the concert, and I've seen Havoc halways p he had already left, and then that I could and you know what's crazy, because that's why God made listen listen, just so you know, I was fighting the whole time from New Orleans or Las Vegas to where I would filmed that so and I knew that's where I was going to bring you to. So God made me pick Las Vegas to see p for his last time. I know, I don't want to be conspiracy theoriest God made you God, because it was
like it was like Vegas or New Orleans. I actually like New Orleans cuisine more than I like Vegas a cuisine, but I like Vegas as a whole. God and something reasons I was telling me, like, yo, go to Vegas. So I took Vegas and I brought you with me to Vegas. And there's the last time question we all see products when when God tells you these things like
when does it happen? And how did it happen? Like I just felt it like it was something that um that it was like it was like I'll make a break the show, like there was actually this because they really want was pushing in New Orleans. So this was like something that I piste off the crew. That's crazy because he was when he died, you know what I'm saying that It was even crazier when I pulled up
and I got it on video. When I pulled up right, they was doing shook ones on stage, but I stayed out there smoking and we on the camera because my niggas that picked me up. And then when I went That's when I went out. I see nor anything. I went on stage with Norway know you brought me on stage at you and and prod of you. The man already left, but across the street was addressing room. So
I've seen half half what I see them. Mob D was the first niggas to really do songs with with I was so naughty for and we shot a video of the wards on with P. He was on a new tribe right, So like when we kept a relationship after that, Like I always felt like P was special at I can't I'm telling you, yeah, I always felt like Prodigy was special. He was. He was a different like and even now, like you know what I'm saying, I meet a lot of people, so some people stand out.
You know what I'm saying, I don't want that ship like you keep passing that ships you keep passing? Why you even smoking that? That's it is harsh, bro, she just killing me. Yeah, it's not good at But at the last time we got ut se Prodigy and it's crazy we got to see him together, man, And then then we did the song with you Down Down No non no no, you killed that. That song is hot there's not that ship is hot and you know the crazy.
That was the first song we actually recorded after we actually squashed our beat and it was on your beat that for those who don't know what's have a song? What you wrapp got? That song is crazy. Just ordered my plaque um this week because I lost all my plaques and pun one not know. That's the only plaque I got And that's the only because I left it in somebody's house. But um yeah, yeah, if you left the plaque in somebody, that's only the only ways I
have my punting plaque. I have super dumb and I have somebody's career. You are doing? You just car like you out. It's like holding plaque for me, you know what I'm saying. So um yeah, because remember the Hood Lab. Remember I had all my plaques in the Hood Lab and the Hood Lab when he was leaving it had got robbed, so they took all the plaques. I don't know why people still plaques. You had a bunch of
plaques show. Yeah, it's just work a hundred dollars like people think that it's really they cost money, especially of history though first someone who Yeah, yeah, but you can't really sell them though I got a double platinum nos plaque, still that I didn't go get I got a seven million Kelly Black. Come on, man, it's not that's not really worth that. What you think about Dr Kelly situation. I think Kelly is guilty. He should get sucked in his ass every day and jail. But I also think
O J is innocent. How do you used to date O J's daughter? I think you gotta make noise for that. That was he black old J? Or this is white old J? Which was I never met? You never met old J? I met him? He him stating his daughter, And you know what I'm saying, like when all that was going on, everything back while that was going on, why he was? Why he was? I mean it was, you know, it wasn't too far from no it was you know, the trial like a you know, he was following,
you know, but yeah, that was that was interesting. His daughter, what's her name? Laurenthal now Laura are Now that's all. That's all. You knocked a lot of things down, yo. Man, Listen, you know you gotta it's either it's either you say it here. You know you can't be super hand man, shouldn't be judged by by the things that he's knocked down. No, man, listen, man, let me tell you something. Man, let me tell you something.
Man shouldn't be tell you something. You know how many other people that your age, that don't look like pause, that don't look as good as you look, as young as you? You know what you should be. You should be bragging about this ship me I'll be telling anybody me exactly. It's not me no more. It's not me no more. I bet you remember you you now now had your ship, you know what I mean? Like, there's some games that you'd be surprised, you'd be like you
past the blood. The reason you're doing with the blood? Come on, you can tell who at this man, I'm surprised that yours that is that's the one that this is, this is, this is this is diego o g God damnit makes him to diego? Were almost done? Now, what'sn't that you're rushing? We're trying to get you. Now, what's next for zeno? Man, you can't get the rest of us next taking her down to night. We know that some as going on now on both ends. Let's go get comfortable. You know you know what I am. I
see you know what I'm saying. I'm saying nobody should be left rack. He can't help lights niggas a blockhead gotta be done. It's in the Geneva Convention. I gotta got each other, that bad girl watch it back. So so what so so what's next to me? Um? Like, so I'm gonna open up the restaurant. Yes, you know what I'm saying, get back to my passion cook and try to open up a few more around the country. Still hosting, you know what I'm saying, Still still ripping
the mic. I got some hot music that I'm just holding on too, and to put it out. Um um, got some offers to go back on TV. You know what I'm saying. And you know, you know, big fishing them niggas a little bit I got. I got relaxed one. That's what they love about you, because if he knows you gotta relax himself. I gotta relax. Yeah, you know what say, I got some opportunities and I think it'll be good because at the end of the day, like I feel like, you know, you know what I'm saying.
You know, I feel like there's a big demographic out there. I want to see me back on TV. I like being on TV. You know what I'm saying, I don't. I don't. I'm not gonna portray myself or nothing that I'm not on TV. When it comes to women, I mean, you know, yeah, like I've been the streets and I've been through it all. But when it comes to women, it's nothing the matter with being romantic and being respectful
him being and having something. You know what I'm saying, there would be just because you you know you're wild in the street, don't mean you have to be wild with a woman as far as we treat it right. So I think I've always maintained that. I think that's like what I would want to pass on to my sons. Because how about marriage bootcamp? Because marriage bootcamp, we're talking about marriage. Let me about something right now that I believe his wife, I believe Jocelyn, I believe all of them.
Is I believe corrupt. They're all out there for filming secretly a marriage bootcamp right now and you had a period of marriage bootcamp and through that again, word that I would do it, I'd go to six months in prison before I do it. Maybe stuff, But what is like, look, give me the money. I don't do six months. If TV is still black and white, you don't watch no TV, You're not listen. I'm not gonna be locked up in the crib with anybody no more. But you can't leave.
I was. I was sneaking off to the side. The production team was always like, where's Benzino? Benzino, I'm in the woods, Like, yo, listen, give me, give me my space, give my space. That was crazy because yeah, because with the camera the scenes go off, I'd be mad as fun because I hate being played. You're like, yo, just give my space, Get my fucking space. You know what I'm saying. They'd be like, okay, okay, they don't hurt you. It's not like you would rehab. Listen. I would rather
go to prison, you know I'm saying that. Say let me tell you something. Let me tell you kid, like I know you. You wouldn't be able to be locked up in there two weeks with your WIFEI going through the ship that they put you through, all right, it's a social experience of what they put you through. This is what they this this cameras everywhere, every wearing the bathroom and they're looking at your balls. And looking at your fucking they're looking at your fucking uh kissing your
girl if you want to looking at that. They're looking at everything, every bedroom fucking tallest. There's tons of sex tapes out right now that can be out. That's real ship, bro, that's real ship. All right, that's real ship. And I'm always wondering, like they ain't that some six ship. And then they sit in the fucking room with fucking TV screens looking at everything has some six ship, But me seat don't ain't no shame't my game with that motherfucker
out cameras. You know what I'm saying, Yeah, because what the funk we meant? You know what I'm saying, Yeah, he was supposed to. Don't give a funk about that, you know what I'm saying. Yeah, you want to see it? Ship show? Ain't one show a conversive looking ship? We got one, man, you got one more shot man, Zeno. Man, I just want to tell you, man, I don't want to. I don't want you know, so many people they want to tell people how much this Okay, we ain't gotta
more good. We thought as the ago, we got blunts in the car. That's another pack. Yeah, yeah, those shine blunts. Shine blunts definitely. Well, I like the other shoe blunts, the ones we could roll up, the ones we were stuff. Um what was he saying? Oh, listen, man, our final our yeah, our platform as it give people their flowers while they're here, give people their roses while they here. So many people want to say, how dope. Okay, we'll
give you some flowers to girl. Yeah, but listen. But what I'm saying is so many people in our industry they want to diss you when you when you when you got so many years in this game. And the thing is the thing is and why is that hold on me? Finish? The thing is a rock and roll they say that your season the more years you have, and jazz they say that you season, the more years you have, even in wrestling, you become even the more
of an iconic figure. And hip hop is the only genre is the only place where when you're older they say that you're washed up. I want to change that narrative. That's the reason why we got drink Chance. We want to give people that's older, that's a statesman, and people that season have been in this game forever. We want to give them their flowers and tell them how great they are while they're alive. So I wanted to do that out. You got shot right there, and how the
funky thing is. Let's just what, yo? Did you be doing that off for the top of the hand. Well do you be writing that down? It's hard, you know why? You My brother and I know that you don't understand how you see the shot? Come on, you want to try this? Come on, try this, take a shot. Take a shot with you. Take a shot of this with me. Let's go. Let's take a shot with that. Cool. Yeah, I don't want the summer's afternoon. Yes ahead, try it out you too, Okay, all right, I got it. You
take one with a small let's go. Come on, like I put a little bit more from you there, Here you go, Here you go, sunny, want sunny? So you work at G five, G five right, trick daddy Tuesdays Thursdays. A lot of a lot of dirties, A lot of dirties in the baby. Yeah, thank you? Busy? You know man? You think that wait before we go, before we go, is there anybody want to shout out? You want to get up? I just want to shout out. Definitely, you e. Um.
You know what I'm saying, everybody, all the fellas. You know what I'm saying. The energy be dope. You know what I'm saying, Um, And I'm definitely proud of you. You know what I mean because I know you know, you know, I know that you know, we know the insides of each we know stories that we will and even share drink champs of each other. So you know, like you know, we we we we we got a relationship down in between and and I don't even know how it happened like it ended up to where is that?
Like I love nor you know what I'm saying, Like we we talked more than I mean, like we talked all the time. Checks on me, I check on him, and it's a It's like and you know, the industry is hard to find ship like that, That's what I'm saying. And it's like, you know, to see you shine like this and work hard and not only do that, but bringing niggas what you You know what I'm saying that ship is Come on, that's a guy, that's God and you're the nigger man. I'm telling you want the most
loyalists down to earth. You're stopping you stuck in your ways. When you're in your ways, that's who you are. And I learned not to talk you out of it sometimes learn to just ride with you. But this bottom line is every man in this room needs to ask this question right now. Are you eating Anika's ass tonight? Look at look at look look at that. We can't handed on that. Take a print,
