And his Drink Chas motherfucking podcast make he's a legendary queen's rapper, He's Segre it is your boy in or he's a Miami hip hop pioneer one of his DJ e FN. Together they drink it up with some of
the biggest players in the most professional unprofessional podcast. And your number one source for drunk fast drink chas motherfucking every day is New Year's e That's like, it's time for drink Champs, drink up, motherfuck mother and would you could be hopefully when you should be it's your boy or one of us d j e F and his motherfucker drink Champs happy, I would make up. And I swear to god, this guy we got in the building tonight, I really ceercha and went through his whole catalog and
I couldn't find okay record. It always was the banging this director. He made babies to him. No, no, no, no no, okay, I'm gonna get to that. I want to get to that. Everybody gotta make a baby behind this guy. But he makes he revolutionary. He revolutionary the hip hop to me in a way that excuse me r B and hip hop because yeah, melodies. He was right, It was almost like he was writing it from a rapids perspective. But there's one doing no. I think he I think they're
all his children. So the people don't know Brye. Now we are talking to the dream in the building making how many babies you think was made to your music? Two point five? Yet he's like three million? You may for trump Rod me going in so little dream? Right? How did you develop that style? Because everybody is kind of somewhat memerican what you do? Like, you had melodies
first in your music? You you appealed. I put it like this, I'm gonna be honest, right, I really wasn't a big R and B fan, right, but there's certain people that certain music. It was like they made it for me, not like you know. Like what I mean is it was easier for me to understand digested, easier for me to digest it. And you're one like I've never heard of rap dream record ever? Thank you? Are you should maxing most of that? Were you ever? That's
fired rapper? My question? So yeah, how do so? How did you develop that style? How do you think? So? Oh man, I think I think I think most um rb at the time was more offense. I mean it's more defense. I guess I should say, um and my and my ship was just more offensive like and that's kind of what I feel about rap Like I feel like it's just high power offense all the time and
the repercussions after that. So if you put that in football terminologies, it's like, let's have a game like no defense, like to say, all the ship you need to say and and yeah, you're right. A lot of that just came from where I was from West South Atlanta. We grew up to be inspiring, you know rappers at the time. I came with nineties was my ship, so I should put you in too, No, No Georgia exactly. So you
got outcasts popping exactly. You got good in all and everybody's everybody's kind of gravitating towards this um Atlanta scene. And at the time, you know, freaking was the biggest thing, like period because like it's the center of the culture was in Atlanta for me, and I'm his teenager young growing up of course I want the champion, so so so for me it was easy to see us. Then Jamaine do Pre started riding around in Ferraris and ship Dallas Austin was getting it at that particular. A lot
of people don't even know. And when you saw that, you know, and being on the Bible belt is where the music part comes from, like because you're in a place where Baptist churches, you know, like we have singing in the ch anyway, I don't I'm gonna say a lot of like ill singers. I noticed they started out in like church and like quiet and old period. South ahead, you can think, that's that's your champagne comes right here,
so get headed to you. So so so for me, it was just more so about let me take a sip I gotta get because let's get it right. Let's get it right. M m. That's that puff got that ship he got it right ahead? Support black o, what was that? I'm Atlanta, Atlanta. Seen seen the church choir,
the church chod, so everybody. So everybody's in the church anyway, like if we're having a Ferrari, Yeah, everybody, everybody, because because what really happened is l A. Reid came down to Atlanta and revolutionized what what the music scene was. We don't just he is not from Atlanta, like he's some motherfucker's sitting at the player, but some of us know what that means. He's from six, He's from six. So but he just kind of showed the culture of Atlanta,
I believe, for me how to get money. That was a place. Yes, there was a place because he had an infrastructure. There wasn't a place we could just go to. You know. At the time of the Face, when he opened it up, it was like whole ship. You take the records over there. And although I was too young to take him there, still it's like a bat signal in the sky. It was the only place there. Um So for us that was our death jam at the time.
On the Face, yes, of course that was great. Yeah, so everything Atlanta came out originally in the nineties was like was like the Face. Yeah, because baby Basis, Baby Face is UMAs came out through the face. Outcast came out through the face. Goodie mob man you got and then you got the people who came after that. You got the t S. And I had to get into that, me and Tip. But yeah, yeah, so but I'm saying in my group that was my influence, you know, looking
at that, and that's what Tip looked at. You know, me and Tip went to elementary school together. So so we're watching this ship that's saying, oh, y'all make hold up, whoa time out. We didn't know you can make that type of money from music. You know, everybody in New York knew that already. Everybody in l A knew that. Tips seemed like he only went to English class. But he he's like school, I'm taking English like that. I think I think that try. But New York, you know,
they had the infrastructures. Hollywood is the same way, you know, especially with television and movies. In Atlanta was just this you know, young church going cultural black thing happening. And we just found out that motherfucker's gonna get ferraris for
for singing and dance. So let's go. I believe like the first time like people got to see your personality, like the show that you was Hood was the time when you and jay Z accepted that and it was like you we walked up there, you were just like man, definitely like you hold literally a slight Joe. Oh yeah, he was a guy. He gotta be good when he say, um, I like to think to swap meat and and that's the and that's the crazy thing about like me and
his relationship. Um that grew, you know, from a certain play from from Umbrella, you know, that grew into this thing that that it's hard to I think that, you know, I'm not really the like this is my guy you look on Instagram, not like every time I went jaylesself itself every time. You know, I'm not I'm not referred to him all the time. So so it's a little bit different. So when, of course, when we first said, everybody's like, damn you take us bet you like that,
like that's that's over. Oh yeah exactly. I'm like I probably had that coming from like five jokes ago. But you know, I've seen hold one day and hope to stop me when he came out heads there holds that I would ask you how you're doing, but your glasses say it all. And I said, that was so funny. Shot. I didn't say it as good as he said it, but it was like, he's really a funny guy. I think you're the humor at the top is there, like I think all of us are just you just naturally
have to gravitate it to a place. You know, ships sucked up out of here. So it's like, you know, you better have something now and says an album awesome. Man, she made me feel bad for every relationship ever did in life, Like I just wanted to call people and apologize like she when she talked about yes she talking
about it's like why do you cry? She's like the sea she was like the way she was breaking down, she like she was hurt, And they just made me think of the ship I did in the past, like for years ago, and I still just want to say I'm sorry, not like all you over that it's army because you said earlier defensive, defensive and offensive offenses and offensive, So you do you think because like because like it was like I remember at one point, like Mary Jay
Blast for example, Like if soon as you heard her go through tragedy, everybody would say I'm gonna be fired. Like do an R and B person have to go through drama in order for the music to be like that? Man? I think speaking for myself as a songwriter, and I have to say that, like, um, it doesn't matter which genre man, Like it's it's a it's an animal that's hard attaining because we constantly need things to fuel that
you know, inspiration. Yeah, yeah, And it's it's hard because you know, on one hand, you're having you know, people wanting you to live everyday life the exact same way, and then your life changes in multiple ways. First of all, you learn things that are that are different. Um, even just from one stretch going from oh, when I grew up, I was in Baptist Church and now I'm questioning everything,
everything that everybody does. But that's the writer in me. Like, and when you write, you don't you're basically, um, you're basically inventing. The words are invented, the scenarios and all of the things that you're talking about is being invented. So you have to invent those situations to even talk about. Or you can talk about some ship that's old, which
then somebody else's or somebody else's tragedy. Um. But but I think it's such a it's such a hard animal, you know to tame, like like really, you know, I say that with the utmost respect for all the great writers. They have to go through. You have to go through something. You see these movies, you know it's inspired by something. Yeah, well you can't want you know, the heart and soul from somebody without them pouring out the best because out of pain. Oh of course, how did you write umbrella?
It was just raining? Man, was like, man, definitely bought a light after that. It doesn't never rain. So because like that always amazes me. You know, one, I know about all the most of the song writer you're doing. And for you to step out yourself and jump into another artist song not only just any artists of the friend sex. How do you do that? Oh? Man? You know it's it's I'm like people. My my wife witnesses
it all the time. I know she doesn't really admit it, but I know I can be beyonceved when I wake up, I'm real. About three o'clock, I'm Jay and pushing. About seven and eight and then nine I'm Celine Dia, then twelve. Let's writ you ever call West if you ever went? This is Joe everybody. I was trying to you know, it didn't work, But Martin brother, So how did you get an a zone? Like? What was you doing? I think it was just the I think it was just time.
You know, I had my first daughter at that time, and I think it was time for me to start sucking sucking around and playing with myself and where I needed to go, and I just turned on a different thing. You know. It's just like a It's like a switch. Just I knew how to do what I needed to do. But I've always is um done better with pressure, and that song was just out of pure pressure in life and not really just about being broken not having certain things.
You know, I was okay then I had I could say that I had a music career at that particular one the time I was getting checked out of the game. Yeah, as a writer, I was getting checks out of the game. I had a publishing deal. But it was just one of those things where it clicked and and when you can see it, it's almost like having an out of body experience. I watched myself walk in and write that record, and you wrote it for the record was wrote originally
for Britney Spears. If anybody remembers the umbrella, isn't it tell I think it was. I don't know if she was with Britney Spears would have fit on. Nope, know who she's gonna put on that kid rock because she think about it? It would, but you worked on I mean if she oh, that's where it came from I worked on a record called Me Against the Music that featured Madonna at the time, earlier on, so it's more we're so happy for you brother. That's Michael Jackson did
a boom walk in the session. Hilarious But no, but but I was it was already a relationship there. So in this game, you know the best chance? How did Britney Spears record until we are the record? Oh and that's a whole another thing. I sending it in a person that's my good friend. Now, I won't throw her under the bus, but I sent it to to Brittany these people and one of the people who got the record actually is a good friend of mine. Now we worked really really close. But at that time told me
it wasn't a hit record. What that was The word I got back, wasn't a hit. Yeah, she's not here get talking back to this to get his name out of there. He's probably gonna get that's my that's my boot um and and it just grew on from there. I'm like, funk that. I don't know what she's talking about. She's smoking something like she's high or she's in fear of losing her job. I don't know what it is? Um and literally after that the record was heard. It's
kind of crazy how this story happened. Me and Tricky Stewart did the record. But the record got from Atlanta, it was just a peep of it and got hurt of deaf jam about l a Ree and he sent a good friend of mine now her name is Karen Kwark down down to retrieve the record. She's like, who
the fund is writing this ship? Who is it? And at the time, you know, the young guy didn't have no super big placement, so nobody knew who the funk I was, you know, really just people in the city, of course, people in the studio where we were working at in Atlanta. But that record, of course went from there to um l A and Karen saying, you know who, this record would be great on Rihanna and the record got played and I guess she heard about the record
at a certain point in time. She's out at the Grammys that year earlier in two thousand and seven, and she heard about the record. I guess she had heard it, but we had not cut the record yet, and she walked up to my manager and said, that's my fucking record. No, no, no, Rihanna just like that, that's my can you can't all give it the West Indian Yeah, just don't do it.
Of course, when I heard that she said that in that way, I was like, Yeah, that's the motherfucker that should have had the record attitude, right, you got it? And then I was already kind of following her and she she already had a couple of records that that I felt were great. This record was gonna go with that? That how big was going to be? I think, I think timing and it's all based on a certain math that we can never really solve, you know, lightning in
the bottle. Things happened for you, and it's a blessing those things out of your control. You know. The only thing you could do is be prepared. So I was prepared for the moment. But to say I knew exactly what it would do, I knew what it was, you know, I say that it was a good record, and I knew it was a better than good record. I knew
it was a great record. But ship happens, man, People ship shot crazy videos to certain songs that I had rolled the ship out the ole way, and you're like, what the fun you know there's other there's other things that other forces that come into black. Yeah, you have a wrote a record and it was like, let me take my ship back. Wrote a record for somebody because I ain't gonn That's why I can't write ship but nobody.
I'm taking my safe back. I don't say he was doing out a hit and I find the reason nothing like you ever said before, Like I didn't want to, but I didn't want to do it. What the person get hit the notes right or song? It wasn't hit the notes the notes. I don't know where he took it. Yeah, you don't don't wake my gun. I'm trying to trying to stay right now to the record. And you wrote it for them, and then I wrote it for for him, which was Jamie Foxx. At the time, there was a
record called Rocking that Ship. Rocking that Ship. Yeah, he rocked that Ship. So it just turned into one of those things where I wrote it for him and he was like, I think I did like six records on that album. Um. The first single ended up being Blame It, which was which was a record that was an interpretation of I Love Your Girl, which is my older record at the time. So I'm happy either way, like okay, and he's like this record is cool, but Dream, I
need a dream record. I need a dream. I'm like this that new ship like do this ship is like now I'm good, And so I was kind of happy he said now I'm good and that she was my first thing to make some noise with Dream being like me exactly what I was exactly like as been like, so, um, what's inception with Kanye? Um? For me? Pretty pretty tame? Yeah, pretty tame is you know, everybody has these and elephants. People just have different ideas about people, you know, and
I think you know some real nigger ship. It's just one of the things that when you people, you people, you know, everybody has their their ups, there downs and ship that they go through. Um. But most of all, I think when you're talking about the creators, they're pretty they're pretty loved, you know, individuals by all of us and it's love coming back, you know, our way. So when I'm with Kanye, like, I don't see any thing other than greatness, you know, and what he's trying to
get done. Like, I don't see any other noise, any other ship. You know, noise may happen after that. But for me, we on one, we locked locks synergy between y'all. Yeah, we walk in and ship, we get the ship done, you know. And and it's been days are you've been nights, been out, flown out to Paris and we didn't do ship for like three four days. And I'm just you know, that's car exactly. I'm a different type of person in past. It's coming out there right now. What he's in Paris, damn,
And it's fantastic. Next he goes, he's saying he hadn't make it so single lays because that's a super girl, right. There's what else at that time? This is the easiest one. Yeah, what else would Beyonce be singing about to all my single days? Is that the way you looked at it? And she was in a relationship, y'all. Nobody knew who Jay was there. You all to know what it was happened to be on tour at the time with Jay
and Mary. I was opening up for Jay and Mary on the tour and and I remember Jay Um coming in. He's like, Yo, need you need you doing right with my girl? And I was like, all right, cool, bet it's nothing. The next thing that popped up is oh cool. So you know, you're like an investigator. You're just reporting the news, like okay, nobody really knows if you like you should have put a ring on the count a whole bunch of ship to a lot of people. It's
a coffee I call it a coffee table conversation. Um. It was just one of those things that was an obvious thing the right like and you know you didn't see the ring into the video. I was just like, oh cool, who said all this ship up? And so yeah, what a better public way to say, oh yeah, we we actually together together. Musical teams is a real moment.
That is a real moment. That's pretty cool. And you just's like it's like Jay just continues to work with you like they are like one of the craziest masterminds in the world. Knows that you're the master. That's crazy, Like not that's that's that's what. That's what kind of matters to me. The most type of of what I do with the people I respect and that I work with is that the greatest people who are doing the ship knows like, all right, we think we finished with
the album. No we're not call that nigger, even if you just gotta come listen to it, even if he adds four bars or he adds three hooks, so a whole song. Make sure we call him. And that's I take the most pride in that, because, um, that's that's just more more important, you know to me, that the legends. Yeah,
that's like yo, like that's the guy. Yeah, yeah, that's that's way more important than me, you know, And I've literally sacrificed um a certain um I guess um we can say shimmer on my own armor because of that, you know, because I I will take that back seat to things that I feel like that are more important to me, are more important to the world that they get a certain thing out now justin Bieber, Oh yeah, for his first single was the ex first thing. No,
that was not. It wasn't. I was wrong, Okay, but I'm glad you feel like it is. I feel like that first birth to you. I feel like you birth. I'm just giving you the prop scream. Just roll with it, okay, before you before we just this is tyger ball, This is spoiled soyl sauce, this is any nothing was supposed to be drinking right now, This is it's a tradition with the show this go go with my ox and code on because on I don't think nothing here goes
with Well, let's try, let's see what happens. Go hold on. We got to toast the seth and when you toast all night tonight we are celebrating the dream. We respect you. You all actually first R and beast by itself because we did have Drew Hill right, but they came there. It was and that was Hill. It was corrupted, dads. We had the last episode to throw Drew Hill and it was awkward, but we made it work. But we made it work. But tonight we are saluting who I consider new R and g King R and listen, I
consider him the king. I consider them the person that shape and move with music sound like today, and we're gonna salute that tonight. Let's make some noise to take it. He just died. It's hardy did that go? He You're gonna write seven songs and now now we're gonna go back to and then you go back to Jessie. You want back after that. That's some country shipped right here. This is a fucking Grits. I'm never like that good with pancakes. Let's go good with grits. I've never heard that.
What did Ambarro say? It takes late? She said, be stairs on sa pepper stand girl Like, if that don't take later on, we're gonna build up to it. So who was your funnest sessions? Have the first see with my sexual reaction is first, you gotta gotta go through it. What was your favorite session you ever had? Like you just walked in and everything was perfect, whether they be you producing right in all your own sessions? Oh man, the favorite session I walked in was the no Church
in the Wild session Church. Yeah, that's my favorite s No Church. That's the one with Frank Ocean No, No, he wrote his own part um. But that was the That was the best one that because that was based off if you don't know the backstory now, at the time, I couldn't say with the fact story was because it's a huge deal for what was happening. But at the at the time, um Jay and Kanye were finishing up watched The Throne and we were listening to it in Paris and you know it easy there. Yeah, but we
kind of threw a monkey rench in that. Um I came home because I felt like they had the album and they were kind of done with you know what it was, And I wrote Holy Grail at the time and sending it back to Jake Ye. So I said said that back to Jay as they're finishing up, because I just wanted to get ahead and just start working
on what his next ship was. I knew our stones Over was with justin timber Lake, right, that was a that was okay, okay, okay um, So I said to the record Jay, he's in back, yoh man, that's my first single named my album That ball balls Like, all right, cool beat, let me know when it's time to cut. I'm in Newport Beach, California. I got a nice boat out there. It feels good. I'm about there writing some ship. I feel lovely phones blowing up. I don't know what
the fun they want on the East Coast. I'm on the Sun's and I'm like, nah, dog, ain't got time for it right now. I get a call from my good friend Shack Gurse. Shaka calls me, I need you at the mercer in New York right now. It's like, no, we think I'm gonna play golf A six am so I'm good. I'm gonna just stay right here. I'm having a good time office, make some more. That's that's a movie. Get So I don't want to leave, of course, my boogey. So so I'm asking what the deal is. She won't
tell me over the phone, like what's going on? So I kind of get a little sideways idea about what's going on. It's like Yo J played Kanye Holy Grail and asked me to put on wash the Throne. He was like, nah, good, I'm gonna keep this old my album. You said we was doing the album you know x y Z. And so what happened from that is, of course I flew into you know, I flew into New York and and the main thing was, oh, we need
you to write another Holy Grill. And Jay's like yeah, he's gonna go out to the trunk and get one out the trunk and just bringing upstairs for us, and even me, as as confident as I am, I was thinking the same thing, like, yeah, this ship ain't just in my back pocket, Like that's that's that's the one that done right there? You want to go back to Westcope. So um, short and long story short, I went in he was working on No Church In a While. Call you was like, Yo, I need you to put something
on this record. I went in the next room blah blah blah blah blah blah. Didn't think nothing of it, and me Ja and Leonardo DiCaprio at that time went went, um, what's life. It's just I'm sorry that the sides. I'm going to grab something to even I never heard about the Rector again as I put something on No Church in a While at that time, and I get a phone call like months later, and Shocking is on the phones like, yeah, so you're gonna watch the Throne. I
was like, no, you're talking about Jay Ship. I was like, I'm not. Don't watch the Thrones, Like, but I just did listening in New York. You don't watch the Thrones? Like no, I'm not, Like no, j just recited Joejo verse on No Church in a While. You're definitely on watch the Thrones. Like what is he talking about? I have a guy that I did this piece of the song that Kanye ended up keeping. Just do it and
forget about it. Um. So initially it wasn't even credit on there, like four, It was just it was just this part, you know that because everybody was thinking the same thing, like no, that's just Kanya and j and frank ochan and then you know later on course put it together. But that was the best session I walked into because it took me about maybe six minutes to do that part and I gotta Grammy four. So it's like you said, again, six minutes and the Grammy dig
so the best six minutes, like a good list. I spent so much time on the wrong taking all your job six minutes, you take all your taking all and when he first picking hilarious. No, that's why that's the best session in my lifetime to date. It was just so easy time to make out over there. I'm like, oh cool, we did it, Like this is great. I'm thinking, I don't know nothing. Come on, what's like a the Caprio doing in that? Probably had no idea? Who the funk?
I was like, he just get your high fight, Yeah, good buddy, James guy. I guess nah, you'd be surprised. He'd be surprised. They know who you are doing. I'm trying be humble, but are you on drink chance? We don't get to be not humble for you? We be you up all that. This is what we do over here. Other we we like to respect our artists. We look at our artists like the superheroes, and we want the world to look at look at all artists like superheroes.
That's true what we do. We sacrifice our life every day. You know, you don't stop being an artists. You always being an artist every time. So let me ask you. With that being said, you have an experience of writing and producing. You produced too as well, actually make the bj and an artists if you had a chance to do it all a little, what's your experience now? Right? Well,
all the experience. Now you're working with everybody from everybody's everybody, and you had a test to do it all, and you can pick one writing or like or no, no, writing or being an artist? What would you pick? What's your biggest high? Writing? Writing more? Didn't be in front expressing your own right, No, no, because writing just touches more people like. It's like, despite a web of effective
when you're artists, everything is mostly singular. You have the ideas you this is what people think of you, and this is how it's just gonna sound when it comes out. It's based on you right when I'm writing, I get to be Selene one day and I get to be somebody else. You know the morpho just said you said he could be seleneon yea right, and he didn't even hit up with the dion. That's how you know, you know, let's make a noise. I don't forget to be and now now, so how do you write for Justin b?
But how do you? How do you because he's a kid at the time. Correct, he's kidding his baby baby right right, baby? Yeah, my son playing that record so much. I probably know the record more than them. So how do you get in? That's on like? Because that's what I'm saying, that's the psycho part. It was. The record was actually record, but it was appropriate for the youth, like how could you balance that to be weird? I was just trying to figure out how to talk to
and not figure out. I remember how to talk to a girl when I was sixteen. So it was just about saying something that I felt like he needed to say to be cool and what like. Because there's a point where, you know, especially a young accident, they don't think about you have to sing this song or if you can't do a version of this song ten years
from that point. And I try to think about that when I'm working with with with younger with younger artists, like yo, yeah, you're you're eighteen sixteen, but you need to be able to sing this song to that audience that's gonna grow with you when you're twenty seven. You don't need to be the lame superstar at that age you can't identify with but you could go back and think about yourself at that age and identify with it. And so that's the psycho part. So that's a whole
other that's a blessed that that can be unraveled. That's just something that I have, you know, in jumping into different spaces times and moments and like even to be pushing and like just like okay, let's go like or or or even rap battling with j On on on text like that's a you know, that's just a whole other thing, you know. But I get to beat those people and be in that place, and that's kind of
like why why I love it so much? Right and Jay text is funny to hit you with three lines and that space, I'll be like, y'all he's like, I'm gonna knock all my ship out. Said you don't take me, you don't work. I'll be like, this is a rich text. I always saw cocon Every time you can talk like this is rich text, I'll be having to decipherate. It's just not it's just it's really really explain what it's like a couple of lines and they've got spaces space
like then it's more lines than the space. Like it's like three conversations. So he will give you like four days to answer the questions. This ship. Don't hit me the next you know, it's ill. I just want to look up. It's like he answered everything. I'm sorry, I was down, I was out. So now actually a bunch of best studio session or your favorite studio session. Now we know I gotta go there. What was your worst?
Oh man, the whole back Oh man, this wasn't a studio session, but the worst with a good friend of mine, and you're the worst experience, oh ship. Man. Rio was on tour and were just cutting her whole album at this particular time, whole album cutting recording people, what that Oka was bixing recording. So literally after the concert we would go backstage and cut records. She would stay in the venue. We would cut records in the venue. That's hard up and coming artists out there that thinking this
ship is easy? Did you hear what he just said? After she performed, they were in the back and recorded the record and go. That's dedication because me, I thought, get on stage, I'm going to sleep. I'm going to sleep. So so in return, God decided to uh figure out how boogee and weak I had gotten at this particular point in my life because at this time, like damn, a lot of zeros in my bank account, Like I feel good, you need the world, I want to go.
And then you find yourself on to one of your great friends in the middle of fucking Europe, and you're like, where are my staying? Man? If you ever stay, you stayed at the plasm Man Manhattan, and you know, you go from ship like that, You're like, all right, cool, I got out there on the road. Man, we got in this fucking hotel, motel. I don't need this. She's just to tell it wasn't even the more. It's just a tell, tell, don't tell. No man, I got in
this bom I opened up the door. Man, slowing back to me coming It was half of a twin size there and the heating was at the bottom, so they're trying to bury ass up into bat Like, so do I cut that on or do what? Man? I sleep all the clothes on and had all all the face cover it up. You've been through and I've been through that, man, man man I sweat man. I was like, oh man, I don't turn into a little bit. I used to
be the used to be that at letter NIG. I was like, we don't give a fun, put me anywhere, and then go the next morning like look, boom, hey, I need you, yell, need you get me a hotel room to this and you know she couldn't neck the next one. One city over, what was the City Bay in Newcastle? The next city over, that's where the continue. We got to that spot next after we did a show somewhere else before that, and there was two tubs in my bath tobar room, and I was like, all right,
we're back, pitch back. I'm sorry you listen when I'll I'll tell you two hotel stories. When I was coming up, we all there was no hotels. It was sold out. It's probably like one of them freaking type of things. So we went to one hotel. It was the only hotel and we walked in and it was roaches in the hotel and so as hood as he was, it was like we gotta late. Right how it was from the project, so it was enough. How big were there. I ain't gonna even lie to you. I just grind.
I just left. I was just like, I just can't do it. We're getting a little money at the side of me and going on over there. So m we gold outstairs. We got all our clothes on. That's why it reminded me of the story. Put all our tolings, like, I ain't even but we still had the shower. It was enough. We had no to know, so we had to go to sleep, wake up, take the shower, and keep it moving. Bro just left in the morning, but at night it was that it was the block. It
was day block. We had to give it to him, right. That was one story. Now we're getting money. I'm getting money and a promoter. This is my man eating. We're in Paris and he tries to show me. He's like, I want to show you, dal By, why didn't do that ship? But why don't do that ship wanted me to cut you up here. I don't haven't see the real Donna see ship about the real net like, ain't come out lant, I won't show you real and no he just listen, don't leave out the three three to seven.
He good, you know, fun up the hotel. But it was Paris, it was culture. This was at the time. I walked in and you know, I used the bathroom and I heard Butch rob but I knew I was on seven. He was on DJ DJ. So I'm like, the hell I hear so I'm us in the bathroom like your Butch know. I was sick too called to promote. I said, this is the past, so I want to Hollywood. I went through too much. I was, I've been through
too much. He said that ship morning, you felt your tolly flush in that same time, this one flush for the whole mild feel I'm gonna turn every each time. And then I was like, this doesn't mean nothing at this moment. Now now, I mean I'm crazy, I get hit and then it's crazy. Any time when they played music, it is like I was dead when I was out. But this is the same we went through the clus me I didn't. I didn't think I went through the ground already been in the ground. O good, I woke up,
went to school. Damn bodies a creek like, I'm good. I was done past. I was passed the ground part. And it was just one of those realizations like, yo, man, you got a lot of great ship going on. I need you to remember where the funk you came from. There was just one of those days, and I remember that now. I stayed in a luxury sweet today to day. You know I was back. I was fine, not in my mind. I don't want to see the real nothing of nothing like nos just you've already done that even
when you're there. You don't want to see the real ship like I want to see this ship. We grew out of that, we grew out of It's like, have you epp up? Like met Michael Jackson. No crazy story I got for you? Motherfucker's that I got crazy? See do a shot before crazy or after? Hold on what we've been doing? A shot up? I don't know if he's on you. You can do the right couple. You don't want to do it. We got a ship at that we don't want to do it. Very about to
do that. Everybody always, everybody need everybody to do that. Everybody got do line no, no, no cocaine, that's only message. That's when the couple's you do that a little okay, cocagne, Dre, you passed me, come back, You're killing that. I can't wait a little too lud. Oh my god, can't we miam me. I know the dogar's coach right now, drink clad Let's do this all the paw the to him. So I'm gonna forget the story, but I don't know
what was the story. Let's not forget Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson, Michael Jackson, cocaine read he never met him, but he met him. Oh, it's it like the way I think I need to Michael Jackson. Yeah, yeah, I need this Michael Jackson's story. It's terrible. Now you're drinking Champagne's champagne to wash it down. What's this blue pill? Let me know? Yes, that helps get the get your sciences right? Yeah, sting for the lines. Saw him in Atlanta. Mike is working.
I started I'm making I May Love Hate in um studio in Vegas at the Palms at the time when the poems coping and I had a certain type of magic there. But Michael Jackson was working in the same studio. You know, some people knew, some people didn't or whatever. Good friend of mine's Pat Thrall is there with Michael cutting the record, just just cutting the record. I don't know what the record was. He hits us on the phone. Yeah, I mean, I don't know what that story. Yeah, no,
that's not the part story. So Michael hits us back in Atlanta, I mean not Michael throw its us back. And I'm like, yo, yo, bro. And if you know this guy, such a sweet guy, Yo, bro, bro, Bro, guess who the fuck is in here? You're like, well, not means so fucking Michael Jackson's and you're right now, We're like, well he work at that motherfucker's so cool like that even the FaceTime or some ship like it's like, yo, bro, he's singing your ship right now listening. Oh this motherfucker
Mike is in the background singing. Fuck. I'm like my new nigga. And I never got a chance to meet him, and I was so pissed. I was in Atlanta, okay, oh my god, blew my mind. I was like, hold this motherfucker's singing. First of all, that nigga, that's one ship right, No, no, no, And so like he's there dancing this ship in my mind, like you know, he's just happening out. I'm like, oh, he's doing all the ship to my ship right now. We've been to get in for that bitch, you know. But but that was
one of that. That was a great Michael moment for me, even though I didn't get a chance to work with him, but that was a great one. You know, my micro story, you got a Michaels. I never knew you had a Michael story. No, I ain't ever met him. This is what happened and for real, first this super thug uh my record came out and Michael Jackson called for rel and for real made all this R and B ship
for him. And maybe it's the same guy that you're talking about, because when Real called me and said, Joe, I just said a whole bunch of beasts to Michael, he called, He called us back, His manager called us back and said, I don't want this ship. I want a super duck ship. Ship said you mean for new Row was cool to me, Like, how the fund do I makeing ain't the ship. I said, well, that's why you're a good producer, and I'm not you with that one so one. So if you look at the motherfucker like, no,
they don't like this type of ship. Oh no, they like it, it'd be crazy, Like yeah, it's crazy. So now how do you But now you said fun that nigger? So how how did you write that? Like what was in your mome home? That's the offensive part, Like that's just that's pure rap offense. You know that. I think that running plays for right now? Like still they're like, okay, cool, we just put the melody with this shi fu everybody. Um that record wasn't the right That was the last
record on the album. Actually that record, um yeah I love your girl And it was like y'll give me one more and that was the one more. But the original is is fun that nigger up? Definitely? We'll put you in that place all the time. I mean, you know when when women look how they look and they man, they're doing what they're supposed to be doing, you know, coming from that space, you know what it's like. He was like, I was just saying, man, you know that
you had girls flipping on everybody in the club. I just want to throw that out there. Of course, like every time a girl was mad at they nigging in the club, they just kept ship. Came on that. It was my last I was thinking about it that way. Oh yeah, yeah, you was putting niggers, that's it. Came on bad. You see bad in the face getting read. You're like, oh this girl, Yeah, she's just going. But all the other things that didn't come to their girls are like here and the least good good. It's just
good with their girls. They're holding hands about to see the jams, trying to get the check. Yeah, yeah, you come down with your girl. Y'all just fouled in the car on the way over. Oh you sucked up. Now, makeup bag, now you that's you, you like because my my wife is a makeup artist, so you may make up that. Who was you in the zone? Because girl tell us. I think it's just about like being underswept, And it's gonna sound crazy, but it's just about that.
This sounds it's just the idea that at some particular point, which is not even never sent the other day, we all are hoards for some real particular reason. Like that's just what it is. There, there's a there's a I'm going to explain there, there's something that you want and something that you're giving willing to give up. That's just
life like period. You can classify a different way all you want to, but you know, there's there are certain songs that that still haven't came out where where I've used that analogy and then where we're just you know, all holes were just out here trying to get out of you know, get out of ship. But um, being pure just isn't a part of it. Like I mean the idea that of the makeup bag itself, whether it's a Chanel bag, that's bag or whatever it is, that
wasn't the point. The point was what do you need me to do to make it right? Or I can't make it right? So we gotta make a choice. Put that's all it is. He was out here putting pressure on niggas. Your girl had to have a good make it always fives tax she had, she had to have a great bag, right, just extra, I mean, have a make up bag and I hate my knee just now after that ship post on this gravy on that Chris is then the type of boy I feel like a
different shot. It ain't three shot time this ship. Then start call this ship gravy. When I come back to this up the rest of the week, you forget about ship. Your t a call. What's going your guys? What's going on where you're at? Hello? Hello? Oh he's not the CEO of Empire Records. Yeah, yeah, he's a great guy. So he's trying to come out here. So, um, you just announced the title of your new album, your Ali. They called that that quick. He's like, we did, yeah,
one point, give me the phone backs. I've got my my notes on there, so what is the time? What is the title? And they had the title that they can call Ferris kind of the end of the love sequels of full length already made full length. Everybody's been mad at me for like six years, and I was
supposed to release it. Oh yeah, your fans you got the drop and Jill, yeah, I was supposed to drop in June on two thousand and Toyo are eleven actually, and so even though it gave them like about four records and then they're just like, no nigger with that record that like you realize it's not gonna be the same record now. But but but finally I've done it and it's about it about to come out. Who's this one? Um? What you mean rock Nation or rock Nations rock Nation direct?
I mean he's rocking the change. Yeah, he looked like rock Nation too. I had my roles gold shoot on. I should have my roles gold shoot the magic. But no, I'm glad I did where my roles gold change the mass because you are clearly killing men. Look at it like that. No, no, no, that's good. That's okay. I love that. I couldn't keep you. I gotta stet my shoot up. It's all good, my brother. I am proud of everybody doing it. Just makes it. I saw, I saw come like you. This is why we gotta make
a new word. Right, niggas like us. It's boogie right. We like to a good rest restom like that. We like to, you know, drive nice ship. But we hooked? So could we make coogee? Who's she? It's interesting? Let's go. Let's call uji. We're gonna make the world up right now. I'm your team. Who know you in the team? You just got a house. That's what type of events actually fit into Hoosie. We gotta make it up right now, dreaming. That's what I'm saying, That's what it's what we're doing
right now. This is this is a collaboration. This is actually why right now I'm saying, Look, we gotta make up the meaning hoosie right, we spell jogie first because I want actually be closing Ray smater than me. I was definitely and he's spelling and tea. I was in the same English class spelling it. You gotta go whosi who is it? H And he's spelling it's it goes wherever you want to go. Let's play you in it. So let's go h you eat h you haveinitely. We
gotta show with specs about like coming you okay? Huge? So what's hood? And he path from though and color and color and gotta because he's hit pop coming on the phone. He was the first come here, the first rapp ever, he got the first rap video ever, heals rap rap video ever. Even though it's been the rap plan, it was hip hop nigga thinking about I think you just stay h h old j that's too close to Hooters and who's your Yeah, that's going to hood, that's true,
but whole that's a new version of hood. We just said we've been the past. It's a nigga saying already so beautiful, man, we're making up English. Oh you never know. We can make up this word and two hundred years from now this could be the No. It's gonna be in the guaranteed word. Yeah, exactly. Think it's ain't you easy? You are? Ain't you easy? Like? Whois you? E z you? You made it like an you made it like a foreign Definitely go too on the T shirt. It's not
gonna work. How do you know it isn't two different spellings or not. None of the bees man, that's all. Actually appreciate the DJ as an artist. Stupid. Yeah, and your freed to like you. If you're making a shirt, it would look ill. Dude, who wosy just got a trademark? But go ahead, Okay, I gotta first. Okay, damn, we're my fault. All right? Cool? You got you got guys? What hue that guy got c U I whogi isog? And it could be a closer line to That's that's
my point. You gotta let's good point. Crazy this is a corporation. Then we we just did we just did it. It's okay, it's okay. I did it listen doing my version let that ship in the song. That's because this is an old school story from Drake sa and the fact that he doesn't agree with my story right now, I have to bring it up. I have to figure that I'm gonna go take a bath and break right now. No, you still gotta stay right here. This is my man. I'm petty as where's your man? I'm petty as hell.
I admit I'm petty right, and it's better not be then it's going in. It's going stupid, but I don't know. It's gonna be the thought song. Yes, before he tells us you would tell a story, how about that? I don't tells it wrong, but I'll tell you about he tells us. He always kills it. He gets it's okay, it's a good he tell here's the basics of the story. He's dating a girl. I mean, yes, but the way do you tell it? But he just didn't. He's dating the girl. I can't believe the services now. No, we
gotta bring back old ship. Sometimes it's just because this is drink the fans want. He's jager girl, all right, So the girl. She would take a shot for ye. Yes, let's porter shot first. I'm gonna get then drink it afterwards. Rits to go with us with you, I want you to. I want you to tell me if he's petty or not. I know I'm petty. But before you tell him that, I hadn't tell my version, say a version first. Let's go. I'm ready to person. I want to tell you version
so I can show how you funk up my person. Okay, all right, listen, all right, I'm just making the shortest version. After he's dating the girl, she goes to the thong song video, he cuts off. She went the big pippin first. All this sound, there's stacy. He said, they're right chronic okay, artists video. The chronological version is wrong. The only reason why he cut it off because she went to it, okay, wrong, terrible. I had a girl, he's patty. Just say you go that. Okay,
let me tell them. Are you going about my version? I want you to have my version? Is this my girl? She's a spire love he killed. She's an inspire model, she wants, and then she tells she's an aspiring model. Yes, okay, yes, and she starts getting She tells me, I'm gonna start doing video gigs. I'm inspire, I'm a DJ spiring, I'm a DJ, I'm working, I'm doing my thing. You know, we're going down. I see what's happening. What did you
mean on filmer in the world of music period? I see I've been on video sets, So I said, you know what I mean. But already at that point we are. We are, We're going to part period. That's how you do, That's how you because because gonna tell you right now when I say to her, you go pursue your your dreams. I'm gonna do my thing. Then it's not gonna be that easy if we weren't already going apart. So she goes and I'm like, I'm not gonna be with it.
It's your first video. Do together. Let's do it together, because I want to know the first video that you said it's a it was it was like something. It was ship, it was like that, it was it was real. I don't know about Okay, let's go I went down the round. Let me relax this no, no, no, it was some more champagne that we get him over. We got some rocks of Ultra Preum vodka, the best of all on the planet. I'm gonna around and throw up on the strip of amazing that that so go ahead
video can keep it real, Like Okay, don't die. Then we're down the wrong pipe. So h we just broke up, break up where he's wrong. He keeps saying that's it's just eventuating the wrong bullshit. We broke up. But immediately when we broke up, this is immediate six stape DJ Miami. I'm the biggest mixtape DJ Miami. I go the Dong song. I think it's the thoughts on remix. I'm not really hundred percent. Oh rimon. I got they invited me over there. They said, yo, come get freestyle from Red and Matt.
I'm in the tent that far sponsor the tent I'm getting. I got my four track and then I see my I was getting there. Just this is the reality that you need evidence. You heard my story. This is the reality. So we just broke up with it's fresh like like like like nine days ago. Damn, this is really the cook The cut is still. She's in the Throng song video like like you said, but I didn't stop there. This is ship and the next video was big. She was doing to do this telling video cup with nosing
them too. Oh, that was one of the worst ones. She was inspiration. The cozy is took go down. I don't know what he took. So you're like an artist DJ. Yes, he's a DJ that he's sitting around seeing what the artists do when the artist is wow, because a arts ain't wow. He said, the difference between your story my story isn't I saw that come. No disrespect to her, but I said I can't handle that, like do you I'm gonna do me and I'm not telling you that she went wild like I don't know. I don't know
the facts. That's the whole point. I'm just saying, I can't handle that. This is I can't held her be in the video she was like that, like I know, is she working? Okay, that's a great story. But it's a great story. I'm understand. But why can't you hand because I don't want you to fris this story? But this is gonna actually drink? Is he drank? I think this is DrAk with me with me? He loves you, Patty? Is he is he he got? Don't you think I'm Patty for one second, please dream you can be honest.
This is an honest show. This is an honest show. Think of the reality of what I'm talking about. I just think that he wasn't willing to outfunk somebody for its girl. It's very different respected I was a kid. I was a kid. You still got not the funk. I'm learning, Okay, I didn't. Okay, you're right A look at it like looking whatever you're coming home tonight. I bet that coming home to what a kid I'm put My mom was older you now before, don't tell what
I'm at the time. Eighteen seven team man, he you do? That was Hennessy Dings. I'm a kid at the top, man behind spins authority in my car and my pack. You want to react to that situation. You're coming up teach and your girl want to go to the dogs so on video? Then she wouldn't do Big Pemby wildly. Come on, man, you're number one. If you're really think that, you would have in my position and be like, hey, you got a right dream. I'm not picking up, you're
not packing your who know what you're doing? You're getting the dogs on video? Shoot together? Yeah? Together? Let me together. You know, I'm working out. I'm going to work them out. I'm gonna go then go ahead that trip for that, I got free stuff that ship that honestly for this different Could you could you deal with a could you deal with something like that with I think I could? Yeah, yeah, I think I could. But you weren't doing what I
was doing. I'm saying the difference is I'm a DJ and I'm there and I'm doing what I was doing my work. She's gonna do her work. I'm not there watching her and enjoying the different body. If I would have, damn you what Dame Dass? Listen, Dave Dass, poor dad, Stop, but you couldn't be I don't understay wait, Dave dash On, She wasn't. It was you know what? Actually a fan show? Were just good enough and that wasn't my girl? What
you doing? Dream? Your girl can't roll? You see this is no Instagram but still Nigga's no name was like that, bib. I'm just what, could you can handle that? No? Angles I can't after that too, But I know that makes me petty. That's a difference between me and him. But I couldn't handle it. I'm on your side. What I'm saying it's petty because you didn't know she did, not just because she's at a rap music video. That petty.
If your petty is that I broke up, like I think my patty would start waiting before that for my petty was like or some minute like I'm good, like I don't give a fun like fun. Well, I can't control people. Fucking just people every just bust on a cool boy and ship. Just just clean yourself, clean you suf hang you know further ward, Like I said, my petty, this will start earlier. And the idea that oh I gave up with you year out of my league from
the beginning. She was never out of my league. Yeah, if you she definitely was not would dream on this. But maybe she was a triple A went bro, but you got that bro. I don't know where we went, but this is a trip. It's like triple A baseball. Okay,
She's like, that's what happened. Don't you start adding I am prom he's still, he said, because that was the petty s you just say, I'll take let me if anybody in this room don't think y'all petty, right, I'm not petty, but I'm just saying, if you ever looked at somebody, you ever like, what's what, what's cool? What? You looked at the Graham just to make sure they're doing good, not doing not doing good? Horrible? That means
you petty. Like if you was cool with somebody and then you stopped working with him, and you stopped working with each other, and then somehow they're Graham, you know, tag you and you just look on that they still on the block. I'm gonna tell yall something, because everybody has somebody, but they look at the ship just to make sure they still fuck You know, that's a great that's a great, great panty. That's a great, great fucking pity.
And Yoki Yo Gotti's the song love the fucking death shout out to motherfucker, Yo, motherfucker right now he's on fucking fire, this motherfucker says. Yo Gotti says, um My ex cheated on me. Now she working double shifts, petty as funk I love it again his egg cheated on him now she was working double ships like so she got in the lame the can't work more like, oh I'm not working. Do you ever go on your gram and just look and make sure she's still doing the
thunks on video. She's not. Because he's a family. Woman's a family she got, she got. I was worried because she's a family woman. I was like that she's gonna hear this ship. It wasn't not too long ago. What's her name never said that you never dream good like a you're talking ship? And did you go through a hit? Can't you hear me? Never? It was in my mind, like you know, I'm on heart side. I felt like she was a good girl, just trying to go work. That's how I felt she was good. That's why she
worked too much. But yeah, you got videos and Black Packers, it's a Miami group. Actually, yeah, that's why the story gets ill right when he was done a hundred episodes right of this ship? Right and this is probably like twenty right, Okay, but here's why the story gets I don't know where you because you too get out on pop because I didn't take it out. The girl went to a hip hop video song was like a hip hop but the only person you had proof of her dating was Bell Bib the phone uh one of the
most now all three he goes up. That was I call I'm sorry, which one of the niggas was actually, actually you're Anny Bobby ricking of mind. I remember the skinny long dude, so actually that you know what, you know what's funny? Sorry, sorry, The funny thing is that that was the first thing that happened, but that you've seen the actually broke and then I went bell baby, the more new audition, because that's that's new edition. They come but it's different. Errors starting now come up, bro,
I'm not battl so it's bellas. This just should have been fucking diet never read. I'm sorry you're saying stay away from that to the car and you know I'm not in V people, But who do I see m P people? Ex girl with one of those dudes, Ronny. I think it was Ronnie. You know what? I just actually I think I I got I got to I solved it. So it wasn't petty. It wasn't petty. But what you did it was emotional, definitely, dream don't it was your petty. It wasn't your pet she wouldn't you
go see all the hip hopters? You got emotional. You're like, I ain't listen Okay, now just people dreams. I hear he said it wasn't petty after he found out it was an arm beating niggers. Arm racing is national West. I respect you dream that was. It was emotional. It wasn't petty, like it's hip hop. You know, it's the coach and he lost something to the culture. We all do everything. I didn't lose too. The coach sott, Petty, if you have became a Republican right after that, how
are you gonna shot that's Patty ship. That's Patty Ship. Oh you went to eighty hunter, but that I didn't go to the club showing the after we broken. And that's like you reminded me right now that and I look up at the fIF and she's like, rody, I like, And then after that was actually the throng song. And then after that was what you wanted. And then that I was like what you wanted the throng song A big pippe. We gotta talk. You gotta being on a
little biggin like we gotta should heard this story. Back then I would have wrote the shout this song. You write the song now that's too old. Now that that has a great song it's amazing. Right now, we're gonna make a country song. All your albums, right when all your albums, what was the most one to you that meant the most? Wow, the first one love hate Me meant the most? Why is that it was first? It
was first introduced people to me. I was blessed enough for people to hear and make my mind up because at that time it wasn't about me being an artist and want to say, hey man, look at me. It was it was a design. It was a design play to put my music um on showcase. So it was it was the idea overall was as a writer, even though you get a record over here, you get a record over there, like that's cool, But how are they gonna know that you do other ships? How they're gonna
know how deep? You know it goes because want somebody to get something from you. You know, motherfucker want to umbrella every time, like you know. So I was able to be the canvas for my own art and that's what it was about, right that. Let me tell you something. That's the crazy ship is what you just said. Is the curse about having a hit record is everybody kind of want to imitate that record the most, which is one of the most records that you wrote produced been
a part of that. People just kept coming to you and it became annoying. Like I remember seeing Pharrell at one time and um, we had, uh, what's the record homeboy? I came to party. He had to tell me. It was like, y'all, I'm tired of everybody telling me to give them that same record that I gave you. Nori. I think records are production based when they come to that, though, I don't think people was more so asking me for the same song because at that time I had written
so many different ones. Yeah. Yeah, so the tracks was, you know, never really stayed the same. There was those are changing. My lyrics was changing based on the emotional melodies or whatever. The tone of the of the actual song was who the artist is that singing it? Um?
Which was the whole other blessing to be able to give Rihana something and give be a whole separate thing, you know, that's you know, I think that was the That was the biggest part of it all because most times, you know, somebody could do a song for one person and the other song still sounds like, you know, if I didn't tell you I did unbrell in single ladies like you wouldn't put it together. It doesn't sound the same.
But you're producing also as well, like like literally the how what's the percentage of what you've done that beats and lyrics? What what do you mean? Like just and you wrote the music. The most people understand writing is also the beats. The layman doesn't know that. Yeah, we know, so when you're rutting and the beats. So like Holy
Girl for instance. So it was I did the track and rope the hook and then I gave it to gave it to Hop and then we brought in Timberland to to make the track what it needs to be to p Yeah, because my idea of writing is exactly what it is in the country world. Like it's you know those songs written like it's not a beat produced or is the you know, the producer usually has nothing to do with the composition like itself, like it has nothing to do with the melodies, the top lines, the lyrics,
like it has nothing to do with that. The writer can be the writer and the producer come in after that. It's like Quincy Jones, you know some of those he didn't do the track. That track ship came from hip hop, right. But that's the thing. That's the thing hip hop wise. When we think about producer, we think about the beat paper he goes like this, right, and then we think about the writer. He's writing the lyrics. Right. That's what I'm saying. That the difference from you, well, it's I mean,
it's just a universe. It's it's only in this culture where we see that as to you know, two different things. For me, producer is actually what has always been. It's the motherfucker that you blame at the end when ship don't go right. He brings everything together. Yeah, so if I don't have to touch of beat, but I'll probably still the producer just because you did that ship with me. And if the ship ain't right, it's like dream suck us up, because to produce means to come up with Now.
I don't care how you came up with it, come up with it ain't right now. They ain't do the track I produced it though, I'm good. I got my whole little already, but that too, But actually, where is my cred joining you got cred? And white girl, that crippy weed, creepy weed creeps, creepy weed. If you've been coming to Miami for a long time, I don't know, they're creepy. White good damn white girls and some people the old white girl on a lot of the touch chee.
Hold on, yeah, no, where you're going, we're gonna cryptocurrency now, I got no shot. I'm trying to be trying to get better at what I do. Damn, I don't know. So when you producing joints, are you using any certain like machines. Yeah, it's an NBC. I'm still a little lower the NPC three thousand. Um. I am on logic and you don't able to knock it. I can move
around anything I like to. I like to touch ship, though I don't like the idea that everything is in the computer or whatever it is, Like I'll go to a studio just because they have a big at four. Yeah, well, I've been playing I started playing trump in like third grade. So the whole band theory to me was just second nature, like it was just something. It was just something that we we did in high school. And then at that time, if you're in Atlanta, the cool ship wasn't to be
on the basketball team and the football team. The cool ship was being the marching band because you got to show your ass at halftime. Like that was the That was literally the ship. And you at that time you had Florida marching one hundred Florida and muh, you had Jackson, you had all these you know, black colleges, and we
were like putting tapes in. Me and my actually my best friend was like putting tapes in studying like what they're doing at halftime, what's the new record that's out, and being able to play that at the next football game. So for me, it was it wasn't music as a hustle. It was I was already doing it before I understood that you can make money from it. Now, one of the most things I've expected about it, I had to have hit my man Rob Mossman, oh more about Drake.
So we got genius community member shying his question is what was it like working with Drake early on his career on shut it Down and by having you work together since dad is you know, shout out shout out to Draking whether he's done his career, like I said before, just sort of like a real like student of how
these things go. And it's and I remember when Drake was putting this record together as getting calls at the calls at the calls like y'all get on this record, get on this record, Like, Yo, get on this record. I said, I'm gonna do the record, man, like I'm on tour. Let I'm gonna do the record. As soon as I get took away something, I'm gonna do it. Drake called like, Yo, like this is how I wanted to sound, like Drake, I'm gonna do this. Now, I'm
gonna do it. I'm gonna give it back to you the same way you sit there with your first I like I'm I'm sending back to you. Was like, okay, cool, no problem. And the record came out great. You know, I think you know it came came out great when a lot of people do. I think when the next album came along. Since somebody wants to know why we never worked again. I asked him to get on the record, and he never got on the record. And so I'm only going to ask you once, especially if I've already
done something for you. So that went through people to directulate to him, and whatever that the thing was, didn't that was it. So that's the end of the drinking dream era of a record. I mean, obviously amazing artist you are. He's a great artist for his own right. Um, collaborations are nice, and collaborations are great, and sometimes I'll just should just be great without you you. Yeah, No, that's morals. Yeah, that's like old school morals right there.
Like I've done so many records with people and then they're not reciprocated, could favor back. So it's the it's the it's the most treacherous thing that can happen. But I forgave them. Oh well of course, but so so what what was going through your mind at that moment when you Because at the end of the day, sometimes you could give a person a wave. That's what that means, Like you could be so hot yourself that when you get on their record, they can build a whole audience
around your audience that you helped introduce them to. And then that person. I'm an artist, and I didn't look at that as a distance drake at all. There's no way shape form a fashion. I looked at it as a person with morals. So I mean, that's it was.
I had to go to my grave with like not because it's a personal thing, just because I have to steal set an example for the ship that I say that I'm gonna do, you know, like it's it's a lot of if I ain't do some ship that I was supposed to call me out, let me know, because it made it could have been I forgot it could have been you know, whatever it is. It doesn't make it right at the end of the day, because that's not where I come from. That's not how I was raised.
That's not how I am, you know, Like my word is just just my word. However I need to make it up, you know, however, whatever it is that I need to do so um And at the time, I mean, the whole situation was forgiven because the ship is petty like that that would be petty, you know in a way to hold that against somebody or whatever it was going through and transforming in his own life at the time.
I just I know, probably as you get older, you start to think about things a little bit different though, and say, oh ship, now I get why x y Z. Yeah, we've seen each other. He's recorded at my studio and allowing and and everything like and like yo, what's up? Like it's or it's just like literally before that, but after after you knew what was what was, what was up? Like all our camps, this music business isn't that far stretch the fart where nobody doesn't know what is going on.
Like everybody knows what's going on and for for whatever reasons at the end of the day. And nigs know how I am not, I'm not. I'm not a build of person. I think most things, um, if you can control them, control them. What you can't, you don't like, don't worry about it. Just just move the funk on. So it wasn't it wasn't no no ill faded thing about that. It was more so about what my grandfather
taught me. Like yo, man, he said, you gonna do something, you need to do it, and if you don't, you need to show somebody you can live without it, you know. And that's that's that's just where I am and just where I come from. That that was all you know what that said, you're the old school warms, you got the wars that and it is petty too, but listen because when somebody frount on me, I never freaking like I almost I'm just being honest. Petty, petty gang. I
wait to listen. I'm I'm not I'm not really, I'm I'm more I'm not really petty, And in none of the sense of that, because people go through certain ship and everybody doesn't know what you know at the time, and everybody doesn't know what you know and how to react to what you know at that time. They haven't
learned it yet. It doesn't make you grown just because you have more money than than the other person, or oh, I'm more experienced, because like, no motherfucker's I got the experience, Like I'm the motherfucker that's an a music business that didn't break till he was thirty, and they had a regular job with regular people win real traffic and ship.
So when the when the bigger percentages of the artists that work in this business, who were able to drop what they did and started working into that sixteen seventeen, I'm like, well, fifteen, I lost my mom and in nineteen I lost my grandfather. So the parents that raise me ain't. I had to go completely to the workforce and get here. It wasn't because I knew some niggers down the street and I got on you know, that's
not I had to split that time. I had to sleep two hours a day for it for years, like only off two hours to the point now I can't even go to sleep, you know, so it's going to sleep. Well, no, I want to go to But I didn't say I didn't trying. This ship just don't work. The difference what you're saying and what I'm saying is sometimes you deal with an artist management or you deal with and that's the problem is it's different, right, and so now I
can understand that point. But if I ever dealt with you directly and there was a phone call with where me and you, I do I do take it away personal more than I should have, Like you know what I'm saying, because I don't care what are I doing?
Like like if you tell me something and we have a ball, and if you don't have a ball, I don't give a fun Like I don't care if I don't have a ball, But if you give me I have a ball and you tell me something that I expect you to deliver because I'm an deliver on my part, or whatever you ask me. I'm so in love with with the idea of knowledge. I'd rather sacrifice myself and how I feel about somebody or whether I'm mad at
them or not. If they were just to learn it from whatever aspect they learned it from it, just you know, wrap it back around and just say, oh cool, I learned that ship that you were saying to me or what we went through. I'm more in love with that than I am about being hasty and just denimous for no reason because it doesn't make any sense. Like, and to be in love with knowledge, it's a whole different idea,
you know. But to watch another person learned something versus fighting them, like, I'd rather you just know, Like even if you did it to me and I'm like, you suck me up because we like forty fuckings, but you understand what then happened and you can go on in life and do the next ship. Because I'm blessed enough to be able to rebound after that. If I wasn't, there maybe a different story forgiving. That's blessed. That's someone
to be able to do that with. Yes, killing something you got, you're still thinking about this girl right now. I'm just going out there. That's throwing it up. This is what we do, man, dream I don't know if you understand this is drinking Champce. We've been doing this.
We shouldly celebrated our hundreds episodes, right, We're still We're still celebrating because you know, this is the first time people that are a part of the artist street, a part of culture, the culture you know from my DJ and mixtape DJ regular DJ to an artist and you know, I'm searching out and go on. I wanted to control
all the media. I wanted to keep you know, I wanted us to support us, you know what I mean when you had, like you know, given the four four or four album and you hear um Jay talking about like you know, it's like, that's that's what the time is for. That's what the time is for. So in a in a weird way, you're doing that, like whether you was conscious or unconscious of it, I just see on the internet Google and that set your album. And I'm hopefully this is the first interview that you did.
You didn't even know that, right, I mean, you won't revolte so we you. I mean, you have to provote conference, so you know, everything a run around. But this is what we do over here. But we also have fun with all this right, and we also say that so we have to actually dream, just dream, he asked, Oh of course, all right, damn answer that good question that we here, we ask we're Twitter, Twitter, Twitter, let's come over and twin Twitter come over here, because asking you

You know what I'm saying while you're eating that damn. Yeah, you gotta talk every day man, Yeah, yeah, okay, guys, it's a great can. Actually I didn't tell y'all, don't have I didn't be motherfucker's ye That's what I'm saying. It's a great as. I didn't know you a professional
ass either. The way you described it, you looked at him like course is a ball. Click. That's all I got that look. You just rob that. You gotta take the shot. Twitter's head come on twenty recently had an accident. He's been on drink chances this day one. We love this guy. I still got my I'm good, you got you know that's still four and you know fifty cent. Don't even drink fifty did four. I'm gonna strow that out there. We got a represent for the r B world.

We want you to know that everything you did for this culture, every time, you're winning in me women you know, love men time. And then look, I'm gonna take this shot,
and I gotta ask you. Do you killed that vah more sign? Ship? You money? Happy? Scared to doing? Hey, dog, I feel attended. That's the game, you know. I went to another showy man, I'm drunk, I'm looking. We can't drink step to your ships take dream? I'm sorry, but look, do you take the shot yet? Let's go, Let's go dream, Let's go drink ship sloo solo solo. I don't want to drink it all right, yo, not drink? Do you make love to your own ship? Oh no, that was all.
I don't know what happen. It's just so bad. I just want to see if that fire shiep gonna come out of But I need not ship. It's pretty tae you know you're very you're very smart. Come on, man, you gotta keep up. But listen, listen. Do you make love to your own ship? Because that's a that's a real ship right there. No, I just played it. I just played um de track myself and then single on top of Oh you killed that, he killed that kill. Oh I'm trying to pet you. That wouldn't work with

I want to play when we can't using it because yeah, yeah, come on, come expensive lake my niggers, where so I could please? Sorry that was the stall. Don't talk so rich Sacks. Let's here fast us like candle. I'm mad at you right now. I'm little head, disappoint man in myself as a dream fan. But let it, let it drop, go, let it drop first, trying at trying to try. Yeah, as a dream fan,

Where keep going listen? By the way, he's about anybody the only guy that When they hit me, I said, yo, I want dreaming to the podcast, and then they said dreaming to the podcast. I said, also want dreaming to a record. You're the
only thing. If we got a hundred and five episode, we had to be aired the kids the episode out five mocause you're the only thing. I gotta have a dream record. Now, how about how would you do a Noriega record? Let's just describe that, right, we got empire to build it. Let's how describe with Noriega? SA like boy want to do we gotta go, we gotta I got too many let me get let me get you a nug give you some I got too many male facts up crazy, got too many male fans juices right now,

It's a horrible scratch that was too easy to make. Now we're going to club dream work. We're going to club. See I can tell you when nig is here. Damn too of your dump, Greg about goddamn club. Tell me tell me how this will go to Let's just make the motherfucker just how you doing up? Like? Who? Just line?
What's your mom? You're gonna be gonna be gonna go out? Okay? Has father? You get ready? Goes through faces to the fucking song. This is it. It's We're getting ready to go out song, You're out song, Ain't back home song. This is a three different songs songs, the RP songs at the end, because they're never be one song for all of us. This is so genius. It can but
it's not really you know what I'm saying. You can you can kind of smooth one into the other like you can, but when you get back to the house. That song usually belongs to me turned down and if you don't, you last like thirty three seconds. I can't do nothing about that, because fancy in six minutes and forty seconds, forty seven seconds long. The last time you smoke to blood blood blood, I just do. I just do the the whites you know right now? Yeah, I
don't smoke bucks bad, No, don't smoke bugs. Yeah, because in my insurance there's a little thing to happen policy thing that is sigarettes, which has nothing to do with the white paper on to you. But it's tobacco. Yeah, yeah, I was. If you know, something happens to me, I would love my kids to get that eighty six million, all those verses, same tobacco, the same way as it takes tests. In school, I had had a system. Yes, no, yes, the Christmas yes, you know, I just know there. But
everybody else I had a system. I was. I was a foul guy. I'm sorry. In school it was different. I'm sorry you guys. Yeah, you know what they're doing. So I show up and together the funeral of ship, Well, he was leading a bad life. You're smoking tobacco. We've seen him on the show. Everybody, No, I ain't smoke ship. Listen, listen, you know why you're gonna live forever because hip hop and arm be like you know um and and like
like the legends. Sometimes we just live forever, like them niggas in England, the niggas in England, it's nine hundreds, but they all like they're like like the na I don't know all the rock boots from England, like and like hip hop is like a new Yeah, like he nah, not easy. He lived with like nine except didn't make it to night hunting. Oh damn. I forgot about him.
But you you focusing on one person. There's all of them other niggas out there, and I've seen that this alcohol is affecting you, but no, it's not affecting me at all. I really love it. I know, I love and I love my job. I just wanted to make sure that what it was going to do because no, no I was doing with Ultimately, my wife has to pay the price for this, but sheo'ld be fine. She's great. She's great. And your man, listen you you always handles
your relationships in public, excellent. See somebody finally saying this ship that's like thinking that the time, yo, Like, I like you. You ain't petty at all at zero and you even just did a record with Todd Dollar songs that wait, actually I've done like what records on Wayne's new album, The New Quarter five, And that means I'm really not a petty for real. Okay, Okay, I understand. I think that's the most unpatty is you could be.
Let's make some other all right, you are, I've undercepted you in the petty game, and I gotta release sign had to release m sorry, because that is a real brown man ship. Like it's like, yo, that you know people relationships, got to do relationships you whatever, like and you tipped out of that. We're all just people. And I think I think the I think in the end, especially in this culture, you know, we're not like this. This isn't This isn't us. It's not in us to
be this way. This country has kind of made us a certain type of way, but it's just not in us to be that way. I think we're giving when we can't give, and nobody eyes away from a moment to be a hero. It's just less and less of those times that we get to become one or that is seen or that is celebrated. You know, like nobody wakes up if there's a kid in front of a car, doesn't want to push the kid out the way, you know what, say their life, you know, even if it
means ending your own. So there's a hero part to it, you know that I think exists in the culture. We just don't get to prove it often enough, or it's not shown often enough. Man, it's not shown true. God damnit, dream man. I tried to have to try to compute them to the pretty game. He broke out of it, broke out, he broke out. Listen, look, Peo, gotta salute
you more. Dream We got to this culture, not just hip hop, R and B. Every it's gotta because you're one of the great Do you recognize yourself as one of the greats? Not you? Why I got so much more? That's a good that's a great answer. So when did what do you want to what? His dreams? Ultimately want these songs that are right for three minutes and thirty seconds to last for about an hour and a half.
So that's what those goes come on. I'm a dyslexic and I was only so I want these songs of three minutes and thirty seconds to last four hour and thirty minutes. So I just want to take those short stories. The hardest thing to do is to put a story in a minute and could just be able to elaborate, which is easy, and it's it's a treatment. Yeah, it was a treatment because you don't have to cut out the details. It's like, okay, I get a detail this ship.
If I was writing a fucking short about me and fucking nor right now, I get the details to what the funk we're going through today. He leaves these times, just keep creating the picture. I love it. You know it's here. We wake up, Hey, y'all need we're gonna meet at the studio over The truth is we're never actually gonna make it to the studio. We spend his whole day not to say yeah yeah, so we spend this whole day. Ain't go to trying to get to
the student to do song. Okay, that's never happened, So it's okay, it doesn't happen in real life. You know. That's kind of deploy the idea of it though. It's just trying so hard and when you really try to drip tight to do something. The ship devil comes out right when you try your hardest to get it right. So you started day trying to get the moved right. You go buy a pound from so and so over there, you get your blood just sh ain't going right? Get poor. No,
you have to flush your ship. Funk. I gotta go back and do this ship. Your day is long, My day is long. R and B ship trying to get one bit y'all get another bit in, Like, yeah, we're gonna meet in the studio. Times already sucked up. We're sucking it up, but we're trying too hard to make the situation right and make the right record. That's have you read the treatment? No, I'm writing it right now. That's what I'm saying, like I know you are before. Yes,
you know what. My next question was, have you ever gave somebody a record? And they even came back with the worst video treating the people over there too. They said they were all down together. He had the visions. I just let people, the fans to sign with videos there like video you were so mad at you know, I'm not telling you that, and I don't want to tell me just telling them. Nobody listening. I can't see it.
But there has been times where you're like, you know you have you grow healthy appetite when you humbro is the video that comes back on your song and your soul is high and you're like, oh funck yes, yeah, and then somebody goes down from there. He was all fun sun my song up the funk. Why were you there in a swamp doing my fun good song? That's definitely saying the beach. It's hint clue. That's why I said swamp, because they haven't. There's no videos in the swamp.
There is no clue. He's very swamp. I don't think we're not getting them nowhere shots. It's nothing we can do, so that would be crazy. That'll be awkward if somebody had to be like that. We wouldn't do that. We're protecting you over. I appreciate what you got you, I'll protecting But he's right outside. They got they got. So Now, what's your favorite liquor? This is drink Champs. We drink liquor, our favorite liquor to write a hit or anything, or
the process to write what is it like? But back in the day, it was patrol now is Yeah, that's a great, let's make some noise and why to see? I noticed that people that drink to killer those are people you know, you know for people that doesn't drink to kill up, that's straight down to the bottom. Like it's like because you can't just drink and killer and be depends on. So what I'm saying is, how could you drink to killer and like write these amazing lirics.
Oh no, I didn't need to drink to write Arsenal. You don't know. This ship is in purely your celebration of what then has been done. Yeah, I can't. I'm like high already when I wake up, I'm not. I don't need anything that that actually just slows me to funk down. That's me up. I can't write. I can't write ship without the marijuana. Marijuana, I don't. I don't you know, I want to drink silber chance. I don't
late vocals. I don't drink, but when I actually write the vocals, I'll drink all day and I'll be I'll be like people myself. I don't be around nobody, like just sit there but to lay them. I will not drink hazard. I don't drink, and sometimes when I drink. The reason why when I drink, I gotta lay it back. I gotta redo the vocals so many times, and it's just not worth it. I just I have all the looking in the studios. I'm gonna lie and then I'll do it. I'll lay it sober and then we get
sucked up. Well I didn't. I didn't. I didn't drink or smoke until I was thirty. So yeah, drink or smoke. Yeah, there was a path that I that I made, you know, with myself, and I was just like, I'm not drinking a smoke until I got a million dollars. So that's when my first son death. For some of us, or smoke, they made a man dollars. That it's hard, that is hard. I was trying to motivate. I don't even want to who I was trying to motivate earlier. I was trying
to motive. But damn, I should have used something like that. That was on you know, yea, I know V he still want to fight the system. Yeah, it's not. They threw all my case. I said, they threw out their case because they think you're crazy. They think you crazy you motherfucker like, and he's like, I want to soothe him. Now, you're lucky. Don't go back into the swamp with I like it. They just were coming, you know, you don't know,
So what's your favorite moment in music period? All around nine MTV Music Awards with my damn god, damn, what you do? This is not the first thing. I'm just asking, what do you do you? Mike came back and then they got damn move walking nine Musical. I'm just for listeners that whole fucking mentally, that lasted like forty minutes and there I was like, oh, no commercial break again for Michael. He had been gone, man, he left. He did blood from the dance, Lloyd did all this ship
he's over in your whatever funk he was doing. And after the first time we really saw him come, it's like, yo, Michaels to be on. We got ready all week for that ship, like, oh ship, Mike finn't come out and make it did smooth criminal ship and put criminal and he did leave came back. We're like, oh, ship, Mike's got crazy. That's the first time to what was induced. That's just when he come back. He looked when he did it was us. You didn't miss the fucking step
He didn't missed the fucking step motherfucking Mike Amazing. I've been prints no man story with him. Men start with you ain't gonna do you ain't gotta press store. Yeah, it's a little Prince to death made rest in peace for that guy. They get you in. This is a good one. It's a good one. So we're doing this record with Mary J. Blige and it has that Prince's
vibe to it. So so at the time, I was just like, all right, cool, we're go getting over the Prince, you know, like, let me take a stab at and do a couple of things that a little bit, you know, do the thing. Of course, he's like, yeah, you know, I do whatever you'll need me to do. So they send the record over to him and Ship, and I'm just actually just saying what I think, I think the conversation with So send the record the Prince, Princess the
record back and Ship. He didn't sing none of the parts that Mary wanted him to sing, but he he's like playing all of the track and Ship going crazy, like just going crazy and Ship, but in the prince type of way. Death like I said, But so Mary gets me. He's like, Yo, man, fucking Prince record man, he's just played all over the ship. Man, Like, how do I talk to him? I'm like, ship's fucking prints. FU, you're gonna say, like you gotta take the hell dout?
You know parts now, I don't even think we put the record. We probably the record. Um so so so she she gets she got the cursions like, you know what, dream, I'm just gonna call him. I'm gonna call him up. I'm gonna call him right now. I call you back. Mary's on the phone, me y'all phones. I guess she's calling Prinson. This kind of how this ship had to go. She's like, um uh, Prince, Yeah, I'm I got the
I got the record back. But you know the I just wanted you to do this one part of me and seemed to, you know, just just sing a little bit and and just playing a little bit at the end. Well you don't like it. No, it's not really the and I don't like you know what, I'm just saying, how many we because we was overing this bit, jam And like a mother definitely was the goodman and this bit Jamie like the play your ship in the back and it sounds good to them. She told me that ship.
I just felt the Florida died, like I told you, fucking prints like what happened. But yeah I could, I could never. Just don't conference, just left, leave below cool. Whatever you want to do dogs, we'll just strake that ship up later. Now you have had one of those. And in the session with you when you worked with somebody, you looked up too, and they fucking up. You gotta be like, can't you change because me I'll tell you,
I'm gonna come out like ship good. Just take them like I ain't gonna tell him and it ain't good. You you you know I mind I been. I don't catch your release. I have no idea. She says, you came to catch your releases one this when you dump and did this ship so long with some motherfucker's that's just gifted. Don't tell them nothing wrong they song just no,
I'm talking about like actually like making a song. Yeah, oh, you're making a song even if they're doing something that's not to your liking and you're in there with a great motherfucker. Don't say ship so not did not? No, you just you just how that's how you feel like, oh, ship alright cool because they ain't about it being bad. Well, motherfucker's great. They're great. Sometimes they just be doing or
something that's not great. You can you can do this, no, not like that, just just in a way maybe a delivery or something like you should have been a little bit softer on that. But it ain't critique time. As soon as they leave, you know, they're just all right, cool, I'm gonna go shopping real quick, go to Berry going for good and give me a couple of things. Come back. By the time you get back, there's so fucking great. The great ones are so fucking great. They answered they
fucking question and you're here. You're like, thank god, and he has to bring that ship up and they don't, right because they're great. That's how they got that. They already they're already picking at themselves at a point and in a certain type of way that you can never pick the ship apart. You can't tell say something like it's fucked up, like she knows what what she knows
what to do? You know, like so you can't. You just have to give them, you know, anybody that time that's great and they'll come back to their own ship and say, I think I could do that hook like this. I think that would be better than in your mind. Just like, thank god, I don't have to say nothing about that. And when they need your fucking input, there asks you the great ones to do. It's the motherfucker's in the middle. Can't tell them motherfucker ship and they'll correct.
Now I think this ship, don't. It's dope enough Number one ninety eight on ever got that charge? But whatever you say, have you get my money up front? Have you ever been wrong? Have you ever gave advice and you was wrong? Wrong all the time? Yeah, I'm all right and wrong. Don't like what's what's something he was wrong on? Like the artists wanted to work with you or something or something like, I'm never wrong on that type of ship. I was just saying in life in
general and this music, Ye, I got this. You don't. Let's make some looks for that good thing. I'm just in. Okay, we're going to a cigarette break in the bathroom break real quick. You're cool, and then we get that five more minutes. Yeah, I got bathroom breakfast. Yeah we're gonnam. I ain't gonna like, that's the city player. And she's like, you know, you gotta at least take one bathroom. So this is this is like a low part of the show that um running by Now, this is you know,
you'll never run ship by you. They all have conversations, but no, this is the part I'm just seeing. This is gonna work. I pulled up one of your tweets, right, he says, ask your favorites how many times they played me before the inspiration kicked in? Then you tagged in meat mil and you said it and then you say said it best. Jimmy foul Dream. You don't what what
did that tweet? Me? Me and me and me and um my brother Meek just did a record on foul and maybe like a month and a half, two months ago. Um yo, Black America. And I'm walking in and let's just say he has a certain thing that he did. He's like, yo, man, I was, you know, I week has a certain you know, he has his dream chase, his logo and like my log logo which is Radio
Killer Records, which is the whole roads. And and I get ready to walk in and I was like, actually his first it out And he was like, but I put that ship on blast, so everybody's seen it. It's like, not your problem is who says He's like, you know what your problem is. It's like you don't put enough light on it. Like so when you do ship, nobody
really knows. He's like, you don't talk about that ship, like how you need to talk about it, you know, so that motherfucker's know, like that certain ship came from you and now stopped for like two seconds. I was like, this motherfucker's right, like like you know, and I don't. And that's probably it's probably more leaning to the un artist part about me, you know. Um, And there's nothing
that I would change about that particular thing. I mean, you know, at this particular point, once you want your famous, your famous, Like there's no in between. I don't believe in in between, Like you know, take the bullshit as as it amounts in dollars, like and and it just is what it is, like, but go all the way, like don't stop, or don't don't cut something short or make something half asked or do it half is it
to be done? You know, if if you're scared of that light, like run all the way to the light you started running there in the first place, and that's he just in one quick second reminded me O O G me, like, yo, you don't put enough light on that ship. You guys start talking that ship, you know, because I'm good at talking ship. But at certain point, at a certain point, it was more so I was talking to myself. So when did you adjust after he
said that? Why did you adjust? I'm just doing a certain ships showing certain ship now, like it's it's just a it's I'm just gaining a better perspective of um
inspiring others. And when there's a line that that that they both like intersect, it's like, be humble with what you have, but also you could be so humble that you've seem silent about certain things, you know, versus inspiring somebody else to say, you know, because only only gifted and motherfucker's that leaving themselves gonna take it the right
way anyway. So that was just the point of doing ship to a certain point that makes somebody say that motherfucker's roll around this bitch and that fucking ghosts like it ain't nothing you got nine nine calls like and feel okay with like it ain't about me not being humble, like I know where the funk I came from. I don't know where my ancestors came from. I know more about my tree and the slave shift that dropped us off in South Carolina than anybody like I know about it,
So I know exactly what it is. So I have to I didn't have to convince myself, but I had to just believe that and say, whatever you do have is in the test a testament of of It's a testament to hard work and and being able to to persevere through anything. And the real people that feel good inside theirselves, they're gonna feel like that. They don't feel like yose, you need some more champagne. That was a great Champagne calls your perseverance. It's real. It's just champagne. Cup.
You got champagne, got like nine cups over there, can't give it. You're keeping in really drink yo. Listen, RB Niggers is never gonna come to Australa. They're gonna try to top Dream and they're gonna that's gonna be crazy. They're gonna die. It's R and B think it's just as tough as hip hop. Niggers old that y'all might be even wilder than us. Have to compare, Like, I don't think it's it's a got a D M Mexican R and B. That's Bobby Brown, right, that's the first time.
I mean, that's I mean, listen, let's just keep there. Let's got so all right, let' let's just compare RB Niggers the Raptice right now, right, I don't know, this is crazy, Just this a stick of it. Right. Who's the whole of rmby because you let the coops, you let the quincy, who's the whole of R and B. I don't think anybody's really replaced R. Kelly, to be honest when it comes to that, except Kelly, you know,
ain't gonna pistole people. And he's still a man a little bit somewhere in the world, you know, Like it's hard in the world. As much as as much as we want to like marry, marry. The idea that genius is in a in a in a conformed world, like it's not about forgiving anybody for anything. Ship is just different in that mind, like it has to be. And you can't get that type of ship out of your body if you wanted to the closer you are the same as the closer you are to not being gifted.
So when crazy ship happens, I'm not really like like like, oh my god, the world's gonna end. It's like to me, there's something that takes a certain type of way in an individual, you know, whether it be dark or like depending on what we want from them. And when we get what we want from them, we're kind of good and and and when we don't, we're upset, you know. But that's not to say who a victim is or who a victim is not. Like, the point is you still live in the real world with real people. There
are rules, they're you know, there are certain things. But it also bigs the question the idea of time, God's religion, like it bakes a different the question of what's actually real, like like what is it you know you come from? My great grandmother gave birth at thirteen. It's so full past now. But that used to be a thing, like for real, it wasn't a law, like, it wasn't a like.
So so what are we changing overall? And and how far is DNA and traits actually playing into that and what they don't because most of the times you can do some ship just out of habit from what you came from. That's just regular fucking science and logic. Like you're more like your father and your mother than even if you wanted to not be, like, oh, I just don't to be like them, Like yeah, but you are.
You may not be a composive drug user, but you're a gambler, Like you ain't not be a gambler, but you're a sex you know, you're a sex addict or. And with all that being said, then you may be a genius and motherfucker that Gon invent did, Like like you're the same person that had to dream or be stupid and crazy and courageous enough to say, I think I know how to make it light this that's something
that's doing. It's just it's just the idea of that we're not anything, you know, well that was just that's just dumb ship that people say, like we're just sucking stupid, like nobody's condoning anything that's not right, you know, like in society or even in your mind, like if you need help, get help, Like that's that's that's just some whole trickery ass trump ship, Like that ship don't that
ship doesn't mean anything. Um. The truth is the body is just more sophisticated than we want to give it. Give it credit for the body to mind, Like what you get these things from all the way to the point of why we're so distrimental allows to ourselves as as a culture and as human beings, Like all of those things come down to traits and things that if you don't try to understand, you won't understand. Because all those days skipping science and ship is the dumb ship.
You know, you just shouldn't never been science versus religion in the first place, because you can't figure out a mind like R. Kelly Are or whoever it is. Of course we know in the real world, Okay, that's wrong, Like you shouldn't do that, like you should have better morals or whatever it is. And then on the flip side of that, I don't know what's in your body and in your mind, Man, I don't I really just
don't know. And I don't know whether I can say completely that an insane person is insane, because the truth is, there's just one word that that actually takes you from being insane to a genius genius, and that's success. If you success, you're a genius. If you're not, you too crazy. Well the funk under the bridge there everybody you told, you told everybody your ideas and ship just never took off.
So that means I could be the same in same motherfucker or mere could be seeing it with this nigger who's a genius is It's like, no, nigga, you're a genius? Like why success? That lightning in the bottle? I couldn't even control it in the first place. Beyonce didn't have to be in my time period of living, or Rihanna
or Ja or Kanye like all of it. Like that ship was divine, that was set up from a different thing that I had nothing to do with, you know, so I can't really I have to see both out of the play the Devil's advocate when it's you're being guided by time and in moments like I don't know. I think the time ship just helps you become cattle and work for society and make money and pay your fucking taxes and ship. But if we live by moments, then I think people would be better off of them.
There's no debating people's creativity and and and how genius they are. Like r Kelly, but I just wanna make sure that when we go over now. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, man, I think it's very serious when we're talking and drink, chance that nobody could ever violate children or anything like that. I mean, I know you're not saying that. I'm just I'm just putting out there for myself. Yeah, everybody knows
that I have children and I love him to do. No, No, absolutely, I'm just saying, like, like, I feel awkward because I'm a I'm a DJ, and I played Artilly and I and I think he's a genius, you know what I'm saying. But but I found myself in a crossroads when you start to see the things that come out and you're just like anybody. I think the cross road is the fact that you're surprised, why should I not be anything that's on earth? Like, oh no, he definitely not surprised
that anything that happens in the world. Because when that happens when you get older, when when I'm originally playing Art Kelly, I'm a child as well, you know what I'm saying. So so I'm just saying like, when we start to grow up and you realize you're like, that's unacceptable. Well, yeah, whatever somebody's accused of whatever we're thinking of, whoever is
being told old to us. Yeah, I mean if you don't know that, that's just that's just back to the part of society now, like it's just coming sense at this point from where I grew up. But of course motherfucker's that's listening or motherfucker's is looking at news and having to be told and controlled whatever we know, not not you. I'm saying mass people who look to news to figure out things. I think that's an important lesson and just grazing kids like my my child should know
coming what coming senses. Coming sense is lacking in the world, which which is the point why you're over trying to You're trying to over iterate what we mean and like what we stand by and what we don't have to because yeah, because you feel like you have to because it's stupid. Motherfucker's listening right now. That's like that. I think they're actually saying that they agree with, like, motherfucker, no, you don't from don't say bigger you know, I love
my stupidness. The whole crowd like stops stupid listeners but I'm saying I'm stupid too, Like I understand. I understand this. So he's talking about you have to say like, oh yeah, as much as I love my kids, I kill every one of you for them, Like I have to actually say that that's sucking nuts, Like who the fund happened to come into a long time ago, but unfortunately but now for four four see me? How did that record
come together? Man? Tell your truth? That's all Jay. And Jay had just had this record already and he asked me to add live to to certain things or whatever UM in the in the song and it was just more him being family than anything. It's so yeah, and I want you to want you to do these vocals on this record. And it wasn't ever about a feature. It's about anything. I think it's just the fact that oh it's dreams, so it should be a feature or whatever it is. But for me it was like oh coo, yeah,
I do the background. I do so many backgrounds on something, so many things period, because my whole point is to making sure that UM artists gets their story heard, you know, and get their point out. Like it's not about me, it's about and I think that's the great part about being a songwriter when it's never about you in the first place. You don't mind your artists. You're like, oh, they didn't put my feature credit on there. You're going crazy.
That kickship called lawyers and do all kinds of ship. That ship. It's like, did you get your point out? Did you make a great album? People love it? Awesome idea by ship. So now I dream, you know, because I have a petty and they're in a good way. I just want to throw it out there that I need a dream record, like in All You when you at, you just tell me whatever you But I fly to wherever you're at. I don't give a because I want to be at your zone. I want to be like
I want to get crazy. Whatever you want to do. It's like, whatever you want to do, if you want to be like going somewhere, I'm a little So if I set up too as eating tables, you like, that's I'm bad. I watched them, you know, I wasn't think like Susie. I was thinking about the wives. I wasn't thinking about Oh it would be a dividery ship. So you won't see what I'm doing music you want or the other thing that was. Now before you get up,
good your dream, literalitate something. You set the standards for the cool rm B. But in real life, I'm saying you do that. Then you did that on drink Champs, but in real life, which you contributed to the game. We have to salute. We have to continue salute as a culture. You have to continue to be filled like a king and treated like a king, because that's what we are. This and this thing of ours. We sacrifice
and we give our lives to this game. So I want you to always know that even other people like me and d J E. F N, we know what you're sacrifice to be in this game. We know what you're doing. We understand, and we're gonna salute that ship your figer smell me, Yes, you gotta do that. I over smell you say them on. Take your read I properly. Gon assists us
