A Good Head on His Shoulders

In Chicago, in the early thirties, gang wars are an everyday occurrence. Mobster Louie Carboni is used to such violence. But what can the hideous decapitation murders of seven college professors, courtesy of a maniac dubbed the Mangler, have to do with the mob? And what does the mob’s personal doctor – Dr. Stein – have to do with the murdering Mangler? The answer lies in the Mangler himself – a monster who once was a man – as well as in the true identity of Dr. Stein, who has a very illustrious if infamous heritage. And by the end of this lightning-streaked, stormy night, gangster Carboni’s status as head man in town will be brutally challenged.
