Episode description

Have you ever wondered what life might be like if you stopped worrying about being wanted, and focused on understanding what you actually want? That was the question Hope Woodard asked herself after a string of situationships inspired her to take a break from sex and dating. She went "boysober," a personal concept that sparked a global movement among women looking to prioritize themselves over men. Now, Hope is looking to expand the ways we explore our relationship to relationships. Taking a bold, unfiltered look into modern love, romance, and self-discovery, Boysober will dive into messy stories about dating, sex, love, friendship, and breaking generational patterns—all with humor, vulnerability, and a fresh perspective.

Speaker 1

Have you ever thought about going voiceober? I'm hopewordered, a comedian, creator and seeker of male validation. To most people, I'm the girl behind voiceober, the movement that exploded in twenty twenty four. Voiceober is about understanding yourself outside of sex and relationships. It's more than personal. It's political, it's societal, and at times it's far from what I originally intended

it to be. These days, I'm interested in expanding what it means to be voice ober, to make it customizable for anyone who feels the need to explore their relationship to relationships. I'm talking to a lot of people who will help us think about how we love each other.

Speaker 2

It's a very, very normal experience to have times where a relationship is prioritizing other parts of that relationship that aren't being naked together.

Speaker 1

How we love our family.

Speaker 3

I've spent a lifetime trying to get my mother to love me, but the price is too high, and how.

Speaker 1

We love ourselves.

Speaker 4

Singleness is not a waiting room. You are actually at the party right now.
