Drafted as a production of tree Fort Media, Clutched Sports Group and I Heart Radio. Lions. Yeah, welcome back to Drafted. Rounds one and two are in the books. And Chase Young, Jeff Okuda, Mackay Beckton, and Leavisca Chenault each experienced the life changing moment they were hoping for with the second pick in the NFL Draft Washington Red skoot for like Chase Young, definitely a surreal moment, you know, a grateful, grateful moment. It's just the feeling I probably will never

get again. I can see tex Yeah, but four more of our players haven't heard their names called yet, kishon On, Tremaine Ancram saying Bassie and Bryce Hall still watching. Wait is round three gets underway. I was let them know where you know what, who he is and conversions what Antonio. I don't wonder if they have the conversations now, they'll make that a whole run on running back. I know.

If Washington drafts running back Antonio Gibson out of Memphis with the second pick in the third round, he becomes the seventh back selected so far. For Kishawn Vaughan, it's painful seeing yet another running back get chosen over him. I mean it was mentally like just frustrating. Now Muslim team's name was telling me all bullshit. I mean that kind of played like it's a dating that you just kind of run and game when people that's kind of

what it is. Men. I personally, I didn't get any calls um doing like first second round or nothing like that. I don't even want to bank a boat bullish it. The mother teams were saying to me. The only positive from these other running backs getting picked Keyshan moves up the draft board of every other team that still needs a ball carrier, and no other backs are drafted as the third round continues. Okay, Bruce Arians still on the porch, Jason Light still running around with all the kids. Where

does Tampa go? I know some of you have asked about the M and m's. They're still within reach and they are getting lower, I promise you. With the seventies sick in the NFL Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select key Shaan Vaughan running back Vanderbilt, and just like that, Keishawan Vaughn is going to the NFL. Vanderbilt head coach Derek Mason, I think Keishawan Vaughan is gonna be one of those names that people talk about, you know, in seven or eight years, you we talk about man who

man Tampa Bay took him in the third round? Who boy and man did they get to steal? I've been arounding this long enough. I look at Alvin Kamara. I mean, where you're taking is not always indicative of what you're capable of doing. There's too many examples of it. You know, across the board. There's some guys that get big contracts that never live up to the big contracts, and there's other guys who wind up being you know, Russell Wilson.

You look at Russell Wilson, and you know guys like Dak Prescott and they've made the world look at him. You know, men differently just in terms of, you know, what they've been able to do. And so I feel like, um, Tampa Bay got a great running back and and you know, make Keishan found the right fit. He's gonna make people remember his name. He's been doing it his old life. Being remotely drafted in the third round is not how Keishawan saw this paramount moment in his football career playing out.

But that goes for most, if not all draftees and Tooth was in the twenty probably would have been different. Um No Corona because it's like, it's like when I wanted to do the mic and I forgot, Like then I'd be like, damn, I forgot threw the mike. So that's that's kind of how this will how this went. I wish we could have like the cameras and all that you feel me, no mike, no cameras, only Keysha on his family taking in all the twists and turns. The Jeff didn't go the way I thought. It was

a lot of kind of surprises. Curer balls at you all the time on kind of unexpected picks. This is not the team that I thought I would end up on. But we was thinking more like the teams like the Rams, Titans, Chiefs. We had like four teams who we thought would have been for those who picked me. And I had just talked to simple Bait like three four days right before

the drafts. At the moment I was drafted about Temple Bay, it was just crazy as hell, to be honest with you, I get a call, answered the call, family screams loud as hell in the background, and they kind of just threw me for a curve ball. So I'm like, chick out. It was like three Folk picks because I was watching on TV and Timber Bay was like nothing, three Folk picks away, So I ain't even think of this type of Bay call type of Bay and up call it like man, we want you for the grab it in

the stay around. And once I got the phone, temper Bay still went up here. It was probably another pick or two. So I'm just casually walking around the crib and then my pops he was just like going with Tom Brady. I'm like yeah, He's like, oh man, you know, everybody just got hype. And then they say, you know, I'm getting picked on the TV, and so I was. It was just crazy and then out of that my phone was just going crazy. I can't even answer a

Kyle Well, that was a good experience for me. Keyshawn's long road to pick seventy six, from tough neighborhoods to Nashville, through a major injury, to the coaching carousel at Illinois, all the way to this year's struggle his senior season, it all led to one of the best situations in this year's draft. He's joining a loaded team with Super Bowl aspirations. I mean, it's just crazy to me being able to like play with these guys that iut watch

growing up, like Tom Brady. He's been in the leave like twenty years or something like that, and that's I'm twenty three, So damned in my whole life been watching Tom Brady and never would have thought that would be

my quarterback when I get drafted. But the going there with a lot of experienced players who I feel, uh will help me and benefit me as far as going owning off the field as a player, I do feel like it's a way kind of lift off your shoulders because me, I'm more of a cast this type of person, so I was kind of moving just to make sure

I was able to get to the league. Then I mentally I can be kind of more relaxing, more myself, Like I was trying to kind of trying to tell my own story, my way, and that's kind of something I'm able to do now. It's a happy ending to keep you on's drama filled collegiate career, but to him, it's only a beginning. I'm trying to start every day trying to earn that starting spot every day. And that's

just the mindset that you need to keep pushing. Especially NFL, you can get cut and so this ain't college where you can they just keep you on the team. Now you can get cut, go home. So it's even the seriousness behind the game has ramped up even more, knowing that, um, this is your career, this is your job. You ain't not keep that job, especially you've got people, got families

and all. Let's taking care of people. I mean, you always gotta have something to prove because the moment you get too comfortable, that's when you could lose it all.

So I'm standing on my toes with everything. But like any running back for me, all the seven running backs that were before me, UM, I got their names in my phones, which team they went to, and all of them teams are playing to kill when I when I play them, and um, their coach will have to be mad as hell that he has scouting Keshavan, who he skipped over in the two thousand and twenty draft. And that's my goal with all them teams. UM. One of the teams even reached out and said good luck to me.

I simply them laughing face back. That's kind of how how this go now? Like I said earlier Vandy, the only thing that that it's the reason why I'm able to under underdog nombers. Don't lie you lining up my stats with any other SEC running back, any other running back, I got good stacks. Um dominated the biggest stage of them all on so, like I said, them, teams would have to see me. I'm just ready to play in football.

Keyshawn is already eager to start his next chapter, but with the draft approaching the halfway point, hundreds of other hopefuls like Bryce Hall worry they're running out of time. The third round of the draft, I'm driving them all. Jets got a whole lot of picks. Just like I said, the Jets got hell of picks. Yeah, point I this is the Blake and I hand while I gave birds dead as a long time getting closer, huh gotta be. Nine cornerbacks were taken in the first two rounds, and

the tenth was picked right after Kishan. So Bryce keeps moving up the draft boards and he and his family try to stay optimistic that he'll find an NFL home soon. Thank you all for joining us for another special life. No excitement, just another night, just get it Saturday. Unfortunately, this isn't destined to be his night. You're a star, is the lay around. Let's for tomorrow. It's at noon tomorrow, you right, Yes, sir, I'm with y'all. Love y'all, Love y'all.

Appreciate that we got it. Appreciate y'all, Love you too. This is a big getting in here though, already know so ten thirty on Saturday, Day three at the draft. Fourth round starts in about an hour. That's the saying Bassie, former Wakeforest quarterback and current undrafted NFL prospect. I need to get out of the house because this family all around me, she's given me anxiety. Honestly, Um, every text that comes in just makes it build. And I know

it's cool, people showing love, pushing me good luck. I've just been trying to stay calm throughout it. But now that the day that actually pick at drafted this here, you know, built up a lot of a lot of feelings with me. So I'm about to go drive and clear my head a little bit, my head a little bit and now I'm hoping for needed happy already so I can get back to work. I forgot a hair cut earlier this morning on this crazy coronavirus stuff going on.

Parents works, happy thought, But I'm gonna get drafted to Let need to cut for all these saying, Bassie's still out there. Any kind of distraction is beneficial right now because today the pressure ratchets up again. Rounds four through seven take place this afternoon. Then it's all over. If players don't get picked today, that could mean the end of their football career forever. And that's something is saying,

finds himself dwelling on some article. So wanna sent me If the job of a cornerback is to versus front the nearest waters here from catching the ball, the wait forest cornerback, he's hang bass He's one of the better players at his job. Yeah, you think over the past three seasons, Bessie worked up thirty five passes at the cash point, more than any other cornerback in all of college football over that period of time. His lack of size five n likely contributed to his slide down the board.

Lack of size. So if I was one itch taller, Bro, if I was totally just taller, was two inches taller, that ship is so wild to me, Bro, Like that's so loved me. The article is correct, of course, if it's saying we're two inches taller and a few pounds heavier, he likely would have already been drafted. He has the speed, physicality, and stats. The problem him is only one person has consistently been able to see past the sayings limiting size. Oh yeah, yeah, that's my boy. We're gonna get rocked

or dead baby like long rods. Hello, We'll see sweet rack I can. I would just saying you rack find the one that did. I've been doing that, said our steep brother, who, while the saying's mom expects a champagne moment for her son today, he's focused on trying to hold it together because the last four rounds of the draft and his final chance at his lifelong dreams are fast approaching. We'll be right back. What up, you're still I'm in Atlanta. That's another highly touted prospect who hasn't

been picked yet. Offensive lineman Tremaine Anchrum and his friend from Clemson Desmond on the phone, just seeing where you had that. Make sure you're still in positive spear. Hey, yeah, man, you know this is only just a step of the journey. You know'm just telling you where you was gonna go. That's all welse for me. Where are your family going? Yeah, they're straight. I mean my mom is a doubt her over the day, and then my dad's he's anxious as hell.

You know how he can get Yeah, yee's calm here. Yeah, man, you make it worse on everybody. It's just tough seeing like a bunch of guys that you know you're better than, get taken in front of you. That's exactly what you're saying yesterday, like he was literally saying the same. Is that, man, It is what it is. Though, it's all gonna sort yourself out. You're good, man. I appreciate you. Glad you've

got with friends. Man, Man, I might say, after after what we were doing at Clipson, ain't nobody was sitting in the land till god right. We only to girls in there and trying to figure it out, like damn his crack out the whole town. Hey, boys passing down everybody's ass cheeks. Man. I was like, I'm not working now, so I'm just be studying. Hey, we're gonna have them

time to kick it all right, to appreciate you too. Today, Tremaine faces the same situation as a thing and tries to block out some of those same creeping doubts as saying struggles with entrance into the NFL. I feel like I'm always gonna be an NFL player ever since my junior year of college. So you know, I knew it's meaningful putty well before this weekend, and whatever half of this weekend's not gonna change that. All people that have told me I can do and help me get to

my goal, you know they still hold on. Hopefully that's all I need. Day three with draft Day three picks U excited, you know, hopeful. Uh, sometimes a little entitlement that you know you're supposed to have success, you're supposed to be chosen this that in the third but little against just like a little bit of air against. So you try to stay level aheaded and just sit there and be grateful for the opportunity that you had. I think that's the best thing that we can call it on.

Who is the opportunity? Because not everybody has one. They're so rare. But that's one thing. Just because you work hard don't mean things are going to go your way. You work hard just for the sole purpose of working hard. Because which it's what you're supposed to do. Stay tuned. Despite the confidence Tremaine was expressing, he just turned off his recorder, the same way Kishan might have forgotten to

turn his on once the draft began. This might say more than their words about the mental toll these players are under, especially as the rounds progress and their draft prospects dimmed. How's your burn you on? Yeah? Yeah, can you use your charger? Day three? Day three? Um, it's you're gonna see how it didn't shake up for the draft. So stay tuned. Let's go. Bryce Hall and his girlfriend Enzel jockey for position on the couch as the fourth round begins. Keep kidding, we're gonna need to hit. Are

you gonna have to? Because they look at me com binding My else. Stress is showing, even for Enzel. With the final day officially underway, three quick picks in the fourth round put the Giants on the clock back and that's my god, you're annoying. His dad is Derek Home's a former NFL wrong back. This is this is a smart kids. Yeah, don't already waimately just at the school for the next two years. Yeah, that's my guy. Though he's good I like him, but yeah, he was at

the combine. He's real cool. I could see him like he's gonna be a good players because he's like you could tell he was hungry. Yeah, he got chipped to. He's like real, real cool. He want of those dudes, probably like before before the before the season started, he like hit me up because our old strength staff. And he was like, you know, like he hit me up. He was like, no, I want to learn from me type of thing, like what what can I you know, I want to get some wisdom side stuff. He's like real,

he's he's hungry. He's gonna be a good player. Round four continues and Bryce doesn't receive any calls. His family tries to make sense of what's happening, looking on Twitter and the Internet for clues. He had so many fans, so much love out there. Yeah, literally a man ting tweets right now like guys, y'all trip at Brice Hole is selling the board that yeah said, Bryce houses Brice

House on board. This is absurd tweet. He got most tweets and the six more cornerbacks are taken throughout round four, saying in Bryce are not among them. There wasn't uncertainty that Bryce could play and play the game. The uncertainty from the NFL was how how held to seek? This is Bryce's college coach, Bronco Mendenhall. I'm watching his University of Virginia star fall all the way through the fourth round of the draft. How did the surgery really go?

They wanted to see him test. They wanted to see him run, they wanted to see him jump, They wanted to see they wanted a current and a real assessment of where is he currently? And then without the ability to see that, um, I watched Draft Day and I just became furious because I knew who he was and is. For every guy that was taken, Like after about the second round, my phone was just like battling and just almost like smoking because it was like but no one

just could believe it. My coaches, I'm not even gonna show you the threat. I mean, we have an assistant coaches threat. However, we learned the business element. They wanted proof right, not of what he had done. They wanted proof today. Could he run, could he jump, how fast, how recovered? Et cetera. Without that proof, Bryce has fallen

into the final three rounds. Glad you're with us as we continue to work our way through the draft to take a look at another draft pick of being in Cincinet and Bengals in his Kareem mol the defensive end out another name. His living room is noticeably quieted as they watched the first pick of round five come in. The names one of the top defensive line in the two thousand and sixteen recruiting players had a solid career.

I spect tag rose passer and trailing sacks and pull the tenant tackles for loss Levin and Hurry's worse three bubbles. The Virginity game was the hickout performance pork league. Karreem, you got a couple of sacks in that game, and Roy value a Russia. He's a guy who has but han U said, Harry up to win the leverage battle the steam versatility to play a little inside outside game there as well. You get a little versatility, as I

said with glee, Kareem. But you know he talked about a guy who could be a the kitchen baby five sacks in a year. He's not gonna be a double vision sack guy. Probably a guy who want to spot and find a way to get him involved in the in the defensive. Yes, sir, this is Bryce. I'm doing well. How are you? M m hmm man. It's an honor to be a part of the team. Absolutely, absolutely, let's go. Let's do it. Yeah, mm hmm man. It's an honor to be a part of the Jests, Yes, sir, let's go. Yeah, right, man,

I can't wait. I appreciate y'all for giving me a shot. That's all I wanted. Mm hmm man. I appreciate it. An honor, man, I can't wait to get to work, yes sir, Yes, sir, you're mcause we don't we don't compromise on it at all time. I love that. I can't wait. Thank you. Can I really appreciate that. Okay, damn man, make sure you can what great you know? Yeah, sir, it's an honor to be a Jet. Can't wait. Yeah, hey man, we're sorry to have you. Thank you. I

appreciate that, thank you, thank you. I appreciate that. It's the Jets. Yeah, welcome, all right, baby, Oh, let's go. Physicality, you gotta work for them in some of the path of protection. Moving on, we have time when that is the most in school history, and you see the return average there as well, that you're getting more than one thing. That's Bryce's teammate Joe Reid being selected one and fifty first overall by Los Angeles, seven picks before Bryce is

about to officially go to the New York Jets. We'll be right back. The significance of getting drafted, discovering his future team, becoming an NFL player all starts to sink it. Now, I know this good. We don't care, we don't care. What color are they? Green and white? Yeah, you go, And I'm definitely about to reach out to him. So okay, right, so tell us what is the call sound like? When? Hey, it's right, is all they say? Yeah, yeah, we were like, um,

I think it was. I honestly don't know. But they put me on the They put me on the phone with all the coaches, like, they put me on the phone with the GM. They put me on the phone with the defensive coordinator, the head coach, the defensive back coach. So I talked to pretty much all of them. Yeah, so crazy Greg Williams. Yeah, I don't even remember, like who dark like crazy Greg Williams, screamer who greet Williams?

Who's that right, Oh is he? I have no idea streamer love it what my dB coach at Virginia was a screamer too, so I won't be It won't be something I'm not used to. Yeah, wow, I don't think I want those ones after that Rice Hall Corn Virginia d J Jet. He had some injury issues that took him out of the combine, so he hadn't sort of

worked his way through this year. Yeah bad. He who have broken legs like you can see here the athleticism watch him as a return but as a corner, you're talking about somebody that's six one and a quarters one or two pounds with good length, So you have to go to get up and press. As you see right here, that's what he does. He gets with that one hand,

stab and press. You can find and play with football when he has those opportunities about those pretty fluidant as that recovery speeah, I'm preci I questioned a little bit of his vision and his instincts, but you have a tremendous athlete developed there. Bryce talks to the media and gathers himself after finally discovering his new team. I got a lot of emotions right now, to be honest, thank you bad crazy m hm. Oh yeah, I just put it on. Why you want to say something? What happens next?

No idea. I gotta figure that. No, I tried to. He called me and I was on like a zoom call with them, and I called him back. So he hasn't until yet. But I definitely have to figure that out. Yeah, I mean they were like one of the teams that like obviously I interviewed with them at the combine and then like I zoomed called their defensive coordinator and everybody else somebody else with them, but and I had planned an official visit with them, So it's about it. But

so you guys have a need that corner. I mean, I know they have a need, but like the start, I mean I talked to the I talked to the DV coach and he was like, you know, it's wide open. So mm hmm, all right, love you, thank you for coming, and I appreciate you for supportive B Like, how am I supposed to respond? Look? Look look at all these texts. Ready, what's she doing? Ready? Y? Holy oh my god. I feel good. It's just a lot of there's a lot

of emotions going there right now. Just first off, just I mean, the whole weight was just like a roller coaster up now I'm dogged down. So then like I feel some type of way about that, Like the teams that passed on you, you know a lot of highs and lows, and and obviously you've got high expectations and where you want to see yourself get drafted on this.

And I just remember seeing dick after pick after pick after pick, and it's like you're just waiting, you know, I almost thinking like it's my phone, they got the right number or something like that, give me the right number. They sure like it's my phone working still, But like those are some of the things that you know, you kind of go through waiting around the process, and then when you finally get that call, the GM called me.

Then I talked to the defensive coordinator, the dB coach, all the coaches, I mean, and I just remember after the call, just like sitting on the couch, just like did I couldn't. I didn't even say anything for about like five minutes. I just sat there and just soaked it in and just like trying to process it. But it took it, honestly, took me like like thirty forty five minutes to just like soak it in and realized

that what happened. And it was so cool because on my family, they were around me, they were supporting, they were jumping and shouting, and um man, they stuck with me through this whole process. You know, three straight nights, you know, we're standing up to twelve o'clock waiting to hear and waiting to hear it. You know, you go and go back to bed and can't really sleep much, still thinking, and then you know, finally get that call. Man, they were just excited for me. So it's a dream

come true. So I'm super excited and I can't wait to be a Jet get once again. University of Virginia head coach brock Omnden Hall to see Bryce saw Thinking in the fifth round, UM number one. I was grateful that he was drafted and grateful that he's an NFL football player. Um that is the biggest bargain in the history probably probably of of the NFL draft to get Bryce Solomon in the fifth round in my in my opinion, in my perspective, and I've had about five players per

year over my fifteen years go on to play. And so I don't have a sample size of thousands, but I have a of and of anyone that's gone on to play, other than maybe Danny Sorenson who was a free agent who's with the Chiefs, who was also an amazingly bargain pick. But Bryce hall Um, congratulations of the Jets because what they just got for that pick in

that round, that's unbelievable. So anyway, I was just the pointed, furious, sad, every emotion you could possibly have with every pick after about the second round until the fifth and then I just celebrated like crazy that that it did happen, Um, because now I knew Bryce would make the most of it. And and well, the Jets will find out what everyone will find out soon enough, and then they'll be saying, how holy smokes, how did how did we get him? For?

That is what's going to happen. And the reality was is they wanted to see and they told me right, they wanted to see run jump stop. Where where exactly is he now? Right? How recovered? And so anyway he has the chance to to write the next chapter. And man, if I'm trusting anyone with the pen, I'm trusting Bryce Hall with the pen to write an amazing chapter coming up on the next episode of Drafted, I I was supposed to go higher. I guess it was Denver, Baltimore, Cincinnati.

I thought he would have been gone. I'm glad he was there for us because we have a vision for him. Okay, I think this would be a good place to propose to her. Are you nervous? I'm excited. He has no idea. I'm actually in the NFL. WHOA Drafted as a production of tree Fort Media, Clutch Sports Group, and I Heart Radio.
