Frankie Paige (Patricia Arquette) is living her best late 90s life in a non-descript city. She works for a hip tattoo/hair/nail salon with her best friend Donna (Nia Long) when she receives not only a rosary from her mother, but also the wounds of Christ. When the church hears of this, Cardinal Houseman (Jonathan Pryce) sends Father Kiernan (Gabriel Byrne) to investigate.
