Episode description

Don’t Forget to Breathe is a podcast that follows the journey of a father—me—who suddenly lost his 20-year-old daughter, and the life that followed a tragedy no parent should ever have to endure.

In these episodes, I’ll talk openly about my grief, my anger, my depression, the emptiness I’ve felt—and even those surprising moments of joy, glimpses of happiness, and what it’s been like to learn to laugh again. This is an ongoing journey, and I’ll be sharing my deepest thoughts and feelings with you along the way.

We’ll also explore the emotions you might be feeling—whether you’ve lost a child yourself or you’re walking beside someone who’s living the unimaginable. I’ll speak with guests who have their own stories to share—stories that may help you feel a sense of connection, understanding, and the comfort of knowing you are not alone. Together, we’ll work to normalize conversations about death, grief, and everything in between.

If you know someone who has lost a child, please share this podcast with them. And if that someone is you, I hope you find something here—whether comfort, connection, or simply the reminder that someone, somewhere, understands the weight of what you’re carrying.

If you have questions or topics you’d like to hear about, I’d love to know.

But please don’t think of this as a “how-to” guide—because it’s not. I’m not a therapist or a counselor. I’m just a man. A dad. And now, I suppose, a storyteller.

So let’s begin with my story—a tragic story… and, unfortunately, a true one.
