Welcome to Dahmerbu's podcast. I am Dominic and I am blessed. I am very blessed that you were here with me today. You really could have been doing anything else, but he chose to be here with me listening to a guy talking a microphone in his living room. And it really does mean a lot. You guys have been with me for a lot of years now, a little over three years now, and you've been supporting the show just through your streams, your download your likes, your shares, your comments. Some
of you have been supporting financially, which really does mean a lot. But I've loved being on this journey with you guys so much that I started just to improve on my mental health and I think it's gone a long way for me. I wouldn't change it or take it back for anything, and I hope you guys have been able to do the same thing for yourself. It really is cool that we've been able to do this together in a very simple,
simple way. Whether you're listening on Apple podcasts or Spotify or Google podcasts or iHeartRadio, it is really cool that you're here. Thank you guys so much. Let's get in the episode so here we go. We've got another episode. This is fantastic. We've got a whole new vibe, all new music, a whole new feel, a whole new format, whole new color palette, a whole new profile picture. We are we are moving up in the world. You guys. This is awesome. I feel great. A
little bit of spring cleaning for the podcast. This is exciting. It feels fresh, it feels feels new. It is still me talking, so it's it's not gonna be awesome, but it's gonna. It's gonna feel awesome, right, it's gonna feels it will feel springy or something. It's gonna it's just gonna happen. It will, okay, But I'm very excited about it. And it was kind of one of those things that I was just kind of sitting around. I actually had listened and it's one of the few times
where I actually have done this. It's one of a few times I've actually gone back and listen to an episode and realize, you know, what I might be onto something, I might be onto something with the slight rebrand that I kept referring to. And I only did one thing, and I changed the picture of the podcast from me sitting in a yellow rain jacket with it all the way zepped up where you can't see my face. I changed it from that to a picture where you can see me talking and I'm doing a
video in front of all my equipment here where you can see me. You just see my face and a Microphone's great, or maybe it's not great, I don't know, but it feels more personable. I don't know, because some of you've never seen me before, so now you have seen me, and that's awesome. Congratulations, there's my face. But I just wanted to like really dig into that, and I really liked the idea of that,
like mild rebrand. So I got a team together and I figured out, Hey, what are ways that I can do kind of a rebrand where I'm still kind of genuine and true to the thing and true to the people that have been listening to me, And it doesn't feel like I'm I'm taking him an entirely different direction. It's just an updated version of the thing that we're doing. And we came up with a bunch of different things, new music,
which was awesome. It changes the whole vibe and feeling aesthetic, and it's been a little bit different because I've had the same music now almost since the beginning. As soon as I figured out how to put in music and episodes, UM, I've had basically the same like handful of songs going through
the episodes. So that's that's been a big thing. I wanted to touch on like bullet points basically, like you, weren't things where I touch on in the episodes, like UM, like I did in the beginning, how to, how to subscribe, how to reach me, you know, things like that, And I really, I really think those things will kind of elevate the podcast. I think it will elevate your listening to experience and my UM experiencing, my experience in delivering said messages to you. And I think
it's I think it's great. If you guys have any other UM inputs or things you would like to add to the show, that'd be fantastic as well. I don't think it's uh, my way or the highway here. I don't think I have like all the answers. I'm just the guy sitting in my living room talking into microphone and so like, this is great. But I was really listening back to one of my other episodes, which is something that I rarely will ever ever do. And I thought to myself, you
know what, you might be onto something here with this slight rebrand. Maybe you should just think about that and kind of lean into it. Because I refreshed the picture, I talked about it, and then something about that just felt lighter. It felt it felt like there was just potential to really delve in and reset and and you know, I guess give give new life to something that's that's been around for a long time, three years now, and
it was just a simple thing. So great. I hope you guys enjoy if you want to reach me, um, if you want to continue to see that new process kind of evolved into what it's going to be, go on Facebook Dahm Reviews Podcast search it there, Go on Instagram Dahm Reviews Podcast search that as well. And I will be there. And it's just a lot of little things. I'm gonna keep all the other and all the other posts and things up there, and eventually, you know, they will kind
of disappear unless you like really start scrolling down, which is fine. I don't like this. I don't like really deleting things like that, but yeah, it's it's gonna be awesome. I think it's gonna be a little bit cleaner. I think it will be more I mean it guess. I guess it will be a little bit simpler for people to interact with, to like, and to share, and you feel like you actually want to be able to do that, which is fun. Which is interesting because I don't get
really any kind of engagement on social media, which is amazing. With the amount of people that listen to my podcast and as little engagement that I get on social media, it is kind of shocking. It is a little bit shocking to see like the disparity in those two numbers. It's really hard to believe. The guys that I was talking to, like working on with the team, there's like, well, here's my numbers like listening like to my
episodes over the platforms and like, wow, it's pretty respectable. And then I was like look at my like social media numbers, and they're like wow, like how like have you spent money on this, Like have you done any ads or anything? No, No, I've not, but it's really interesting. So you guys can help me very quickly by just going to my Facebook page, Like in my Facebook page again, Dom Reviews podcast again, going to my Instagram Dom Reviews Podcasts as well, and helping me get my
numbers up because I have not been able to do this without you. Guys are liking and sharing, but you're not doing it on social media. You're just like telling your friends about it by actual word of mouth. I mean, which I can't be upset with. I will never be upset with that. It's just like very hard. I don't know, it's just it's a very interesting way, and I didn't expect the growth to happen in that way, kind of just like the good old days, which is really funny.
But anyways, this brings me to my question today. And there's a word that my wife likes to use a lot, and I've heard it over the last like actual couple of weeks, not actually coming from her. There's a word called synchronicity, and she loves saying that word synchronicity. I think she just likes the way that it feels when she says that. You have words like that, like I like the word disgusting. I think it's such a
vivid, fantastic word. She likes synchronicity, which sounds much more educated than the word disgusting, but synchronicity, and I think I've had a few of those in the last couple of weeks, which is really cool. So the question that I have today is what could use a makeover in your life? If I could give you a quick story about the last handful of days in my life. So I did. Last week, I did the episode, so that was kind of the start of that, and I changed the profile
picture and that was a slight makeover there. Great. Then this last weekend I had the wife, I had Jeanie. She went off on a trip on the over the weekend to see some like old family friends in Utah. So she was out there from I think it was Friday to Sunday Sunday night, I think it was, which is great. It's just like a time for her to let go and see family friends whatever, do her thing.
And so in that time I had changed again the profile picture. And then on Saturday, I had our hot water heater break and so I had to replace that. But even the week before that we had gutted and completely rebuilt our deck. I had my dad come over here and he replaced the whole deck in literally like two days. It's pretty incredible how he does that stuff.
I don't know how he does it. I was telling Jeanie the other day, I was like looking at it because it was raining, and I was saying, watch, I was just watching the water just sitting still after it stopped raining, and I realized, like, I don't know if you're supposed to do that, but my dad built it like perfect like literally perfectly flat, so the water the water doesn't drain off, And I don't know if that's like I don't know if that's what you're supposed to do or which
you're supposed to like build things at just like a slight slope so the so it drains. I don't know they do that with like soccer fields and football fields. So there's like a mild grade, but nope, like there's no there's no grade, no slope, nothing. It's it's perfectly flat all the way all the way through. But like he wouldn't have it any other way. I guess I wouldn't have any other way either. So we did that.
We fixed the sink. It's got a bunch of leaks in it, whatever, and it's just been a lot of things, like my brother Aaron has basically he rebuilt his deck as well that we have been over at his house and cleaned up a bunch of the stuff in his backyard. We've got like a family reunion coming into town, so it's just been like a lot of days of like work to get prepped for that and things breaking and blah blah blah, and so our entire life has felt like spring cleaning slash makeover.
So the question today is what could use a makeover in your life? Everything? And it's that's a simple answer because everything has already gotten a makeover in my life and it all started. It all started with the profile picture, and then I had to stop and really think about all the other things that have happened. But then just how much better I feel for having done that. No, I don't want to have to replace my hot water heater.
Not a great purchase that I wanted to make right now, And that's okay, But hey, guess what, I have really great hot water now and I don't have as many problems with it, like I don't know, leaking like it was, which is a huge issue because they can explode. Did you know that? So if your hot water heater is like leaking at all or giving you any trouble, you should just replace it because it's pretty
dangerous. So I think it's fantastic. I think it's fantastic. I think for years I would always have trouble with, you know, changing things up and kind of elements of forced change, I guess. But every bit of it that's been in the last few weeks for me has been actually really great
and really beneficial. So where I could take something that I've done for years in this podcast and feel okay, going to a team of people and being like, hey, how can we maximize on this very simply and then just try and execute and then just execute it and just do just run the play
and just run the play. And I think it's really exciting. I think it's it opens up a world of opportunities and what if it's the wrong answer, right, Like that's what you're afraid of, right, like that, what if what if you do it and it sucks, It's like, well then I change it, right, Like, it's not it's not the end of the world. It's not like there's a billion people listening to it this
podcast. Even if there were a billion people listening to it, and I kept this, you know, kind of context in this format and the the aesthetic on social media. I kept it going for a while and nobody liked it. I can change it, and it's it's not that big of a deal. And I think that's awesome, and I think it's something that I have to remind myself every once in a while to just chill out and not be afraid of change because I'm so used to doing a thing a certain way,
because change brings inspiration. An inspiration brings creativity, which is my whole life as a musician, Like that is my whole life. So and it's it's just simple things, you know. Like sometimes I'll go into the studio and we'll be like, oh, we need this drum, this drum thing.
Hey, what can we do? You know what? I could just go in and play a drumbeat this way, or I can do something super weird sometimes every once in a while and I will, you know, take my snare drum and flip it upside down, or take my snare drum and not have it between my legs. I'll have it where my floor tom is, which is for U non drummers. It's the one that it's the big one that sits on my far side, my right side, that everybody loves.
It sounds like that doesn't make any sense. It sounds like Mordoor when I hit it. If you don't know what Mordoor is, I don't know what to tell you. I don't know what to tell you. It sounds
like drums of the Deep. It's fantastic at least, mind you. Anyways, So every once in a while, you know, I'll do something weird and you know, move my drums around or play them in a different way, or play set up my kit left handed, something something weird that makes me moderately or extremely uncomfortable that will inspire me to do something in a different way or come out playing like, you know, doing something that I've always done, just a slightly different way. And the process is, I don't
know, it's awesome. It's awesome. So don't be afraid of doing that. I think it's awesome. Find something in your life where you can do a slight change and see if it inspires any creativity, and then let me know. Let me know about that, because that is fun to know that. It is fun to get the feedback from everybody that is listening and goes, oh, yeah, like you know what, I tried this and this worked for me, and now I do blah blah blah or this inspired somebody
else to do this or YadA YadA, YadA cool and it's fantastic. And I thoroughly enjoy doing stuff like that. I enjoy hearing stories about things like that. And yeah, we're just here for the journey together. That's what this podcast is about. But that's about it for all I have. I mean, yeah, that's about all I have for today. As far as that question, what could use a makeover in your life? And for me, the answer A kid was everything and it has gotten a makeover and it's
been fun. It's been liberating. It feels light, feels airy, it feels inspiring, and I was creative. And I'm curious what you've done in your life again and if you have anything like that, if it's made you feel the same way, or it's made you feel worse, or you've gone back to the thing. But let me know again Instagram, Facebook, Dahm Reviews Podcast. You can message me, you can comment on my status is let me know what you guys think. It's really great. On my platforms.

It really does mean the world to me, and it really does mean a lot of game in that you've taken your time to spend it with me and listening to a guy talk about makeovers in his life in his living room, it's fantastic. So thank you guys so much. I'll see you the next one. Good Bye.
