So here we go. We've got another episode. This is great. If you were listening to my last couple episodes, you'd know that I had a writing camp this last week Monday through Friday, and it was a lot. It was a great time. We had a bunch of guys there that we've known since we were I mean, we were all teenagers and some of us not even really even teenagers yet when we first had met each other. But

we're all out here now from various places in Colorado. We're out here now in Nashville doing our thing, writing songs and producing and traveling and really doing cool stuff, doing the things that we always talked about doing as kids together and teenagers together and now mostly functional adults. It's been fantastic. So we

did have a writing camp. We did it Monday through Friday, and we basically the whole premise of the idea is that you write as many songs as possible in one week, and some writing camps are longer than others, but that is just a premise. You like take kind of a genre and be like, hey, we're gonna write these kind of songs in this style or this vein whatever. So we wrote a bunch of songs this week for my

band Vow and UM. We were just trying to see what we could do as far as kind of stacking content together and songs together for ourselves basically for the rest of the year and beyond, and it was fantastic we were actually able to do. I think it was UM, I think it was thirteen. I think thirteen was the final number, which is fantastic, very lucky number, I guess, But that's that's great. I think that's the most we've I mean, that was the first one we've ever done. But that's

that's a writing camp that I've never been a part of. With that mini come out at the end of it, some really great stuff coming out of it. We felt really great about probably eleven and a half of them. The other half of it just the song isn't written yet. We kind of got stuck on it and then moved on. We kind of got a little bit of a brain fog when we were kind of writing it and got a little bit stuck and then decided to just move on instead of kind of beating

our heads up against the wall. So that's the only reason why I wasn't twelve. And then we had another one where it is literally just it's gonna be just a simple lyrical tweak, and I think that'll really bring it together again. It could have just been we were tired, it could have just been I don't know. But whatever it is, it'll be a simple fix. So we'll have, you know, twelve thirteen songs that will come out of it. It's really really exciting stuff. The guys worked really really hard

this week. M and our brains were absolute mashed potatoes. UM by the end of Friday. You should have seen as all. Um. By the aid, it was just like, oh my gosh, it's it's a lot of work. It's a lot of work. I'm really I'm really happy with what we've done. Um, I'm really happy with the effort the guys put in this week. UM. So that's great, really great stuff. UM. But today and this weekend is kind of our our first days off, so we've been kind of just kind of chatting and most of us have just

been kind of taking the day off and relaxing. UM, and that's kind of what I did today. Jeanie had her birthday the other day, so that was fantastic. We we had um just kind of a day off with her. She took the day off of work and we just kind of went around and did some stuff and it was a lot of fun, kind of just celebrating her birthday. That was right. But today I was driving around

she was doing some stuff for yoga. So I ended up taking her up kind of North and Nashville, just slightly outside of North Nashville till I could get together for whatever yoga things she's doing. It was kind of a like introductory meeting for a bunch of teachers and things like that. So that was cool, and I had a couple hours to kill and so being my brain kind of was a little bit mush. I just decided, you know what, I should just chill out do something that's non creative, something that's very

simple. And over the years I've learned that that thing for me that has nothing to do with creativity or anything in that realm as far as like music or artistry goes, that thing for me is driving for Uber. And that's that seems like, oh, that's strange, but it is something I can do that has, again, there's nothing creative about it. If you've you've been an Uber, you've driven for Uber before you know that. It's just there's no creativity in this. You just turn on the radio and I just

turn on literally generic Top one hundred radio whatever. Actually it's not really Top one hundred. It's basically like all these classic hits from like the seventies and eighties and some nineties stuff, so like nothing really overwhelmingly modern, but something that you would hear in an elevator somewhere, and that's just like identifiable as music. Great, but you're not going to be upset if it comes on. You're not going to be upset if the Doobie Brothers comes on or Prince

comes on and then Adele comes on afterwards. Like it's not there's nothing offensive about this or awesome about this. It just kind of is what it is musically. But you get in and you just follow the blue line. That's it, and you talk to strangers every once in a while. Some people want to talk more than others, and that's fine. You can take you know, ten minutes to sit there and talk to people and that's fine. And some people don't want to talk at all, and that's also fine.

But I really enjoy like just going there and doing uber for a few hours. I do it a lot before I go into the studio, just kind of clear my mind and it's and it's just really great. But as I dropped Genie off, I go to go to my first my first ride, so I could turn the app on. I'm going it's like great. I hadn't turned out even out of the parking lot yet when I dropped op Genie. I get the ride. So I'm taking off. I'm going up the

street. And this is something that you could only see really in Nashville. It's it's like very specific. Like I was driving up and on the sidewalk, I see a riding lawn more. There's this lady on a riding lawn more. She's riding up the street, riding up the sidewalk on this riding lawn more in a leather jacket and a cowboy hat. I mean it's going full speed. She's like full What do they even call that on a on a lawn like a riding lawn more. It's like, is it rabbit mode.

It's not. It's not like high high speed mode. It's like I think it's rabbit mode. What I call is like rabbit mode, like they have rabbit or like turtle and it's like somewhere in between. She was like full rabbit mode, just flying in this like all like blacked out, like oblique, oblique zipper leather jacket with like flannel pants on, like flannel plajama pants on, and a cowboy hats, just like this is something that you would only see here. And I really didn't even bat an eye about it.

I just thought it was like a funny thing that I was watching it and going like I didn't even think, oh, that's weird. I thought, oh, she's probably going to like the store up the street or something. But like, why would you why would you get on your writing lawn more to go up the street to go to the store. But then again, why not, why wouldn't you get on your writing lawn more and put on your oblique leather jacket with your flannel pajama panton and go to this grocery

store. It's your Saturday too, it's your Sunday too, it's your weekend. Do your thing. I just thought that was funny. I thought it was just funnier that I didn't even bat an eye about it. And then I, you know, just went on about my day and it's just kind of been living rent free in my head. Just the amount of confidence that this lady had to just do the thing and it was just unashamed and I

I thought it was absolutely fantastic. So if you're ever like, oh, you know what, I just need more confidence, just think of this lady. If she can do this, you can do whatever you want. You can also do whatever you want. Just absorb some of that confidence for yourself today. Just be oblique leather, leather jacket, lady on a riding lawn more going to the grocery store. Absolutely fantastic. So anyways, that was a long That was a long tangent. Maybe I don't know, maybe not,

But again, I'm gonna go back to my book today. So this is awesome and I've been talking about this. I've talked about this a lot. This is my five year question today, memory Journal, And so my question today was where what actually was it? The question was who is the funniest person that you know? And I actually had to sit and think about this. I know that I'm not supposed to think about this. I actually have been sitting and thinking about it for probably the last handful of minutes because

it's a big answer. It's not like it's not like, oh, like you can just say something because you know, I know a lot of funny people, like you know a lot of funny people, but like, who is the funniest person? I mean, that's kind of you know some people's some people's jokes hit well one day, and some days they're jokes don't hit as well. You know, like sometimes they're they're great, sometimes they're a

little bit tiring. Sometimes they're the same kind of repetitive jokes, and sometimes they're like, oh that was a revolutionary type of joke, um, and you can't even laugh it's so funny. Um. I have all of those,

all of those friends and all of those relationships in my life. So I was really trying to think about who overwhelmingly is just like, if I'm around them, I need to like be careful because they're just gonna make we laugh, And they, overwhelmingly, based on crowd reaction, are the funniest person that I know. So the more that I thought about it, of course, I'm like, I think it might be me. I think it might be me. Well, I was like, no, I don't think

I'm that funny. I think my my comedy styles kind of it's finding the lane there, and I don't know if it'll it'll change really until I die. I think I'll just get less funny as I age, because I've found kind of cheap laughs and low hanging fruit to make people laugh. And then I just I'm gonna just settle into that until I'm like old, get off my porch guy, or stay off my lawn guy. I think that's that's gonna be the that's gonna be the move for me. So I automatically like

disqualify myself because I'm just kind of my lane already. So that's fine. Um, But I think overwhelmingly, I don't think it is a single person that might be the funniest person that I know. I think it might be a collective of people that are the funniest people that I know, um, mostly because I've spent the most time around them. And you might be like, oh, it's gonna be it's gonna be the Vogue guys, right,

Like it's it's gotta be the Vogue guys. Yeah, Like, well, we're around each other a lot, we make each other laugh a lot, but I think we're just I mean, you spend enough time around each other and you kind of get each other's comedy style, and that's fine, and

we do have a lot of great, great laughs and great stories. But like for the time spent and the the the level of laughter that I have, the people that make me laugh and even the Vogue guys laugh the hardest and surprise us the most is definitely the wives, the vo wives, and it's it, really, I don't think it's even close. So all of us are married in VOW, So I'm married to Jeanie, my brother Aaron's married to Jen and Drew is married to Lindsay. And I think collectively the

three of them might be the funniest people that I know. They are, Seriously, they are some of the smartest people I've ever met. Collectively. They kind of mopped the floor with the three of us in VOW Like iqise very smart, uncomfortably smart. But it also translates to their comedy styles. So their comedy styles a lot of time are like it's very dry, it's very it's extremely quick witted, and because they're all so smart, it is

extremely high brows. So there is a lot of layers happening to it all the time, and it is overwhelmed. There are a lot of times where they'll make a joke and it is so funny that you can't even laugh, like where you just are like, I wish you could see my face what

I just did? That I was horrible for radio, where it's just like Paul like mind blown, where you've got your head like your hand on your hands and you're just like wow, like you do that explosion on your brain thing like it's like that, and where you're just looking at them one of them that made a joke and you're like, oh God, like that was that was so funny, like and you want to laugh because it was the funniest thing, but it was also so funny and damn near so revolutionary that

you're like, I I have to take some time to think about that. Maybe I should write that down because it was so funny. So I think collectively it's the three of them are the funniest people that I know. As

a group. They are just they're so highbrow in their comedy and so dry and quick witted that I've not met I've not met a single person or set of three that hit like that that wasn't already like me and Drew and Aaron in the group, Like we we do that already, but we've spent enough time around each other, Like it's fine, and me and Aaron are brothers, so like we we can do that all the time. But it's definitely

I think overall, it's got to be. It's got to be. The wives are the funniest people that I know, and I think that's the I think that's the end of the debate there. I think that's the end of the debate. And I think over time, obviously, I think it'll shift. Maybe it'll shift. I have yet to see it. They've really come into their own as far as their comedy styles. But you know, today they hold the trophy and I think it's fantastic. Good for them, Good

for them. They get a whole episode talking about them, and most honestly, most of my episodes are talking about a significant other. Most of my episodes are talking about like a wife, mostly mine, which should should be right, Like, you guys are super interested in that. You guys love the stories about the wife, and she's fantastic. So I figured, you know what, let's just do it again. Let's just see it again, except we'll just throw all three of them in there and that'll be just fine.

That'll be just fine. So Jen and Jeanie and lindsay, congratulations, you guys get the trophy for the funniest people that I know. I don't give that out lightly. So you are the champs for twenty twenty three. It is April, so you got a lot of time to really screw that up, I think, But so far, I think you still are going to like hold it strong and be I mean serious contenders for the next handful

of years to come. So congratulations, congratulations, enjoying your moment. The Internet has now heard that you're the funniest people alive, and you will probably gain a bunch of Instagram followers. I don't know if you're gaining Instagram followers, but here's hoping. Here's hoping right, Here's hoping great. So that's that's my answer to my question as far as life goes, if you are not doing anything in the city of Nashville, or you are coming to the

city of Nashville. On Wednesday, Vox is playing a show at the Brooklyn Bowl. So that's going to be a great show hosted by our favorite radio station here, w NXP, and it's going to be a great show. It's going to be the first concert of the series called Next Up UM and it's a bunch of bands that they think are kind of next up in the mainstream UM. And we were invited to play in it. UM. So it is very UM. It's really it's really special to us. It is

really special to us. We just played the Brooklyn Bowl this last December with w n XP UM in their Christmas bash and end of year kind of showing and it was sold out and it was it was a lot of fun. UM. So they invited us back again. UM. We're doing a lot of cool things as bands, So they invited us back again to be a part of this Next Up series UM in Nashville, which is really cool.

We've done some really cool things with them w NXP. We just did an interview with them in a live performance with them UM in their live studio. So if you go and find UM at least my personal Instagram, UM, you can find that in like the one of the link trees or on vows link tree. UM. It should be on there as well, or you can look up w n XP on their website UM and you can find that

there. We did three songs on there that were live, and then we also did like a five six minute interview kind of talking at the end of that, so that was really cool. Um, if you're looking for a little bit more insight, but we are there. UM. You can buy tickets obviously on the w NXP website. You can buy it from from vote on our Instagram. You can find it on my on my personal Instagram as well, so that's really cool. You can find that. I mean,

yeah, just in the link trees. That's fine. UM, we would hope to see you guys all there. It's just gonna be a cool event. It's a really cool thing to be a part of. UM and just kind of to support kind of just local music and local local radio stations as well, um, because they are publicly funded w n XP. Um, if I could throw all of my money towards w NXP, I would What

did they say, supported me or not? I believe in so many of those people at that station and what they're doing, and they're just heart for music and their belief in a bunch of artists here. I just happened to be a part of one of those groups that they believe in, which is really cool, but and and a giant blessing. But I really support them. You should support them to come out see us and say hello. That would be really cool. I would really really value and appreciate that. We

can take a picture or whatever you want to do, shake hands. I don't I don't know. We'll figure it out. We'll figure it out. We'll get a fuel for it. We'll get a fuel for it.
