Tonight's guest is Mick. Mick, welcome to the show. Thanks Weick, thanks for having me, well, thanks for coming on. We appreciate your time. Mick. Please give us a brief bio on yourself and my party eight. You're old man, three lovely children. Obviously, I'm orrishing understand by me the accent and motorcycle freak, and I open construction and I'm happily married usuppose that's about it. Well, that's great. Yeah, it sounds
like you've carved out a great life for yourself. And dude to something I heard you say in your bio, I've got to ask you who makes the best bike, Mick, and it has to be the Japanese has to be Honda. Honda people say, the most expensive one you're going to go for the Italian months, but for reliability and practicality has to be the Japanese. So you're a Honda man. What's your dream bike if money wasn't an issue?
And BMWHP four race model, it's a sixty two thousand euros which is probably about I don't know, fifty thousand dollars and it's basically a Molo GP bike, but a registration play on it. It's built for the tracks, but you can use on the roads, and there's a limited division on them. That's there's only one hundred of mate or a thousand of mate or something. You have to be picked by Actually BMW did actually boil when you can't just don't boy, when you have to actually be picked by them the boy.
So I can't see it happening to me anytime soon. H Well maybe not, but it sure would be nice, wouldn't it. Yeah, of course it would be. We all need dreams. Except that price tag. That's pretty ugly. But that's the only ugly thing about that bike. Yeah, yeah, yeah, no doubt. Mick. You flew to Slovakia in two thousand and four for a wedding and wound up having a dog MEI an encounter there. For the listeners who don't know anything about Slovakia, what can
you tell us about it? It used to be part of Czechoslovakia, the old part that was part of the USSR before all the breakaway countries happened in the unities. Slovakia, it's loady country. The reason why I got there
was in the early two thousands, maybe two thousand two. There was a big construction bilm here in Ireland, and of course a lot of a lot of the jobs had to be filled by any kind of nationality, and we had a big, huge influx of Eastern Europeans coming here and Polish, Romanians, Slovakians, and that's how I got to notice Chap and that's how I got to be friendly with him, and that's how I got invoided to this wedding. When you found out that you're going to be going there for his
wedding, were you excited about the trip or dreading it? Oh? No, excited of course because it was a weekend away with the boys basically, and it was just gang of Woko has been to a country I've never been being too before. I traveled a lot of being to the States, a few times of being to South America as well as part of the North, and I've always looked traveling and it was a country of I actually googled a lot about it before I went, and it looked lovely. It looks really
nearly nice. Of course, it's a breakaway from the family, you know, I'll breaking out the boys, and it was a wedding as well. It was a happy occasion, So yeah, I was looking well forward to it. I didn't out that way though, Yeah, unfortunately it didn't. What part of Slovakia did your encounter happened then? And it was out about one hundred kilometers west of a town called Kosha Kasita would be a big wouldn't be a city, but it wouldn't be a village to be a big town,
and we were we were about seventy kilometers outside that. We were in like a really really really small village. It's kind of a place where if you blink on the train you'd miss it, you know. It was just two hotels, post office, a couple of bars, supermarket, two main roads and that was it. Like it's just it's really a middle of Norway job. But it was still nice and peaceful at the same time. Oh, I'm sure it was. Yeah, there's small villages like that over there.
There's just something special about them in my opinion. Yeah, this bit has made his own cheese and everything else and made his own wine and it was just so self sufficient. But a lot of unemployment as well, so maybe you have to do that for themselves. I'm not too sure, but really really lovely country. It just it just falls short on the employment, so either yeah, it does sound like a well place, definitely, except
for the unemployment. Like zaid, if you'd like to be able to listen to the show without ads and have full access to bonus content, that's an option to find out how, please go to dog Mean Encounters dot com Forward slash podcast. To this day, all these years later, you still get wound up when you think about what happened to you there. What kinds of effects have you been dealing with because of what that dog men did to you? At the start, when I first come back, I thought I was
dousing my mind. I thought it was like, really lose my mind because, as I said to you before, the only person I really told was my partner and my best friend and yourself, and I told me what before,
Yeah, I think it's held. And they didn't know how to take it at all because they didn't ever heard of it talking about and needed to do it until I actually had to look it open, until I actually seen drawings of what people have seen before, and I realized that depending drop as we say, he realized what what I saw because the fields was feeling it was first of all, I was losing I thought I was losing it because
nobody could everyone's laughing. Well, the people I told were just laughing and thought I was on some sort of rook or some whatever else are I was smoking something funny, And the fields I had were especially when someone laughs,
So it's hopefully it was. It was kind of hurt if someone, you know, when somebody you cared about, laughs back at you when you're being, when you're being, when you're trying to have an honest moment with them in swful and then if you tell someone that kind of half believes you, you kind of feel as if they're agreement you just just for the sake of
your own mind, you just to just to make you feel better. But the fields always have was a paranoia I was used, but you could you could say panic attacks, but anxiety was up the wall every time it meant to My mind was up the wall. Sleepless nights, sweats, couldn't even go nearar dogs for a while. I don't know what that was. It just it just didn't like any kind of for a legged animal or any kind
of food her animal. For a little while after, but it just felt alone for a long time because especially as I said it before, on this side of the world, we have the mid of the Banshee and lepre cons and everything else, the whole thing that goes with being owners. But someone says, dog Man, you didn't know what you're talking about. Well, that doesn't come as a surprise no matter where you go. For the most
part, people aren't going to know anything about dog Man. I just hate to hear they had so much trouble finding any support after having that experience, especially with it being as traumatic as it was. Yeah, that's just not
good. That's when I reached out to you back. And I think it was twenty fifteen when I actually pushed contact to Joe, because I was following your podcast and it's just these people and this chap because I listened to a lot of encounters and every one of them rang true and hit home me so and it's like kind of charrapy every Friday, listened to you know, every
Saturday. And that's when I decided to contact you because I knew wasn't just some podcasts, let's be honest, back in the day, some podcast with a joke and the ones that I listened to now and your podcast Jill and good under helping people. That's what I'm so glad you did. And believe it or not, I still remember that conversation we had back in twenty fifteen
about your encounter. There's just something about how creepy that encounter was due to where it happened in that ancient forest, something about how the dog men behaved, what it did to you. It stuck out of my mind all these years. And when you reached out to me recently and asked if I remembered that conversation with you, I was pretty sure you thought I wouldn't remember you.
But yeah, like I said, I definitely did. Yeah. And that's the point I was thinking, because it was in this foreign country, and I was convincing myself that these were like a part of the like over in certain countries, do you have joint sheep over here we have joined and Friesian cows and Scottish cows. And I was trying to convince myself that it's just a it's just a Slovakian dog. You must be everywhere. Yeah,
that was just a madness trying to make you feel better. Oh sure, Yeah, you're going to do all kinds of strange things, try and compensate with an experience as traumatic as that one. But at least you know it definitely wasn't some kind of Slovakian dog you encounter that day. Definitely, Yeah, it would have been nice if that's what it was, though. M all right, Mick, please tell us about that encounter. Now, give
us every last details that comes to mind. I suppose I'll sarden like before, really, because the day before this happened was the actual the day the wedding that we went over to part always suppose, and that I was getting married. His name is Radoslav, we call him Raddo, and it was his hometown. And over there you needed usual even because as I said, it's just in such an outaway place we need to sels to get around. So of course I put my hand up and I hired the car because I
was the only woman of Sufficients European license. And the course we drove to the chapel and over there they have a two chapel. Wedding was ones the wedding and the next one's kind of a blessing. The mother and the bather of the bride had to be involved in the first. It's really, it's really it's not like a eventual weddings. After the wedding, we went back to the the hotel that was doing the field, and the machine they give them was party and good time and everything else. But I had the car
me, so I decided not to drink. Prep I was gonna have a drink, i'd have to leave the car there, and I didn't fancy leaving the car somewhere where it wasn't really sure of in case because I wasn't being paid through the nose for insurance of any damage happened to it. So at the end of the night, I decided and say, okay, I'll have two beers. I was just sitting there watching everyone drink. I was just
killing me. So I had a lot of food, had two beers, and had another beer and another beer, so had four beers altogether, because I know exactly how the many I had. But over there you had it's like it's called a wheat beer. It's like a cloudy it's like a bud Wiser, but you can't see true it's it's really cloudy, and it's really it gives you an awful headache. Because the next morning I went up, it wasn't wasn't drunk or anything. You remember going home, left the car
there, walked on. We're being put up in the little B and B, and the four of us went to the B and B, and I was of Furst. Went awake the next morning, and it was it was a beautiful morning sunshine. We woke up with actual a rooster in the back garden acrown, and so I died to go for strow, just to it might be sitting there listen to three three grown men snorting in the room. So I decided to get up and b and see the place before we flew
back home the next day. It wasn't much see Lesbions was only a small little village. So went for stroll and who old this place is? The roads are cobblestone, like the old cobbles that we'd have in a whole team eighteen hundreds of London or something. There's cobblestones. You wouldn't see a car for ten minutes maybe more, and you see maybe one or two cars from the place of an hour. So I was walking and I wasn't watching where
I was walking. There's just there's only one small attle road that leaves the town and the same road comes into it and goes out to the car. So it was just the one one road in and out of the small village. So I was walking for about maybe twenty twenty minutes a half an hour. I couldn't get lost because there's only one road. You can just come back around back the way. So I wasn't word do with that and being he was. So it's just reminded me of we have got the Transylvanian movie.
You know, it's a cliche, but that's what it reminded me of. And it was sunny. It wasn't even darker, was just that's how it looked in the sunshine. I was thinking himself, help would look on a dark with a wet day, And but it was lovely at the same time, really beautiful country. And this robber started to get really really bad and it was just covering dog horspital. A lot of people are using the horse and carts. But decided to go off off the road to the left
and you could see walking trails into this small look like a forest. That's that the very start. It look like just like you'd see in a walking like a walking trail. So it took this trail and was well beaten. So it was well he used. And there's a couple of other trails gone different directions, but it just just almost gone uphill and the sea at the very top. But before I actually started to walk, there's a little information. Then I had them over in the States. It's like before he started
trail. As an information, it feel like a hard plastic and to be leaflet, I need to laminate it and so you can read it. It tells you where to try to bring you in. And you know because I immediately castle on the grounds. But I thought the castle was on the very top of this hill. So I said, right, I'll trying to find it. If not, at least get out for a bit of fresh air in the walk. So I followed this trail and it must be about ten minutes. It wasn't that far off the road. That's why I can't get
over the audacity of this. It was just so it wasn't even in the middle of nowhere. It was way off a little road where people come and go. So these things aren't afraid of human beings at all. So about ten minutes ago, boy maybe feel I'm not too sure what how the time went, because it was just being myself and just walking. I wasn't looking at the watch of anything. There no pleasure, So walking along and the trees start getting mark the answer like there was a sporadic tree that the very
start with a notice. As I was going on the trail, I would have to reroute my walk as it be would be in a way and the episode I keep walking stepisode it wouldn't be a straight line, but there was a lot more condense trees come out and I'm gonna realize that the trail I was on it was kind of worn away. There was there was no trail
I was on it. So it was like, right, I'm definitely off the beaten path, but it was still so must coming through the trees and still nothing to to bother me. It wasn't gonna get lost, but don't get get lost at all, and impossible to get lost all up hill, just go downhill. And then in my periphealin, this is where I starts,
I might start losing me breath a little bit. This is where I starts coming back on my peripheral vision on my right hand side, I just saw dark, dark mass, not not move enough, not flow across my my line and side just just a dark mass. But I looked over and it was just it was just a large three, just a really really really large three. But it was really really dead. And I never forget the
mushrooms going off. The mushrooms were just so big and they were like, I never I never seen mushrooms is big my life going off the side of this black tree. But there was a bush coming off, so it was like what the he just called it in the States, tickets is what you call it. Ticket. It was like a bush coming off the tree as well, like there's a tree and a bush maybe fifteen feet sixteen feet,
but there's no it wasn't buried. It was look like thorns and brambles and all sorts of the nasty s. So that kind of kept me on the subject. You that was on because I wasn't going to walk them through that stuff, so keep going. So it kept me moving a few more steps, and it just kept something kept saying to me there's something over there having on the roup and then making my brain told me I don't know. But
looked over and it was again looding. There was the dark tree. But I realized my whole old the forest had gone from the new baby trees that I walked in on at the very started the trail. This stuff was really old, was m there's kind of moss drawing off them, huge big trees, like really they're talking six feet span and the wit that's huge for us in this country. Kept walking another maybe forty yards fifty yards, and I
thought I was saying things. I looked over to Morrown's side again, and I was probably parallel with this, the end of the ticket, at the end of the bush, at the bush, as I would say, over here the bush ended, and just yeah, how much? Who just head? It was just just peeking around the side of the tree. And I looked once, and I looked back down again, and I looked again, and I wasn't there. I set myself up and I seeing things are just
really happen. Then I started getting the heart start really going because I was really starting to preak myself out. And he said, no, you're just you're just in. You're just in an alien place. You don't know where, you don't have to name the place. It's like this, man, it's just your mind playing tricks. And as soon as I had looked down on my shoelaces were I always look at my shoes and when I'm walking, I don't know what it is. They also looking at my feet. I
never look ahead and never look up. I was going at my feever and put my feet and this place was so old the roots were coming up through the ground and going back down instagramd. So that's one reason I was what was watching Mars done? As soon I looked up again and I looked over and it was it was, yeah, the dog man sticking his head around the side of the tree. And I didn't know at this age of the
game, I didn't know what the dog man was. The first thing come into my head was that's where I will if you look at the TV perceptions of where he post, That's what I was seeing. It had. Of course, it just took stuck his head around the three and it had this look um this day, where are I shouldn't be here? Or as if I'm I'm walking in on something I shouldn't see. That's the feeling I got.
And it moved in, it shot in, it flicked in a flash that it was so super you know, I'm not going to use this word, but I I shouldn't really use. It's so supernatural helm with how fast they can knew because it moved from the tree that or the push the tree that was standing behind, to the tree in front of me without me even seeing its body. It was like a flash and it was wait in front of me. I can't tell you what that body looked like until it got
to the tree in front of me. That too fast and knew and that's when it shelled more of itself to me. And I just couldn't believe what I was saying. There was the ears were like no these fighting dogs. I don't know if that any pit bulls are or massives. I'm not to show, but it had the ears you would see when the crops when when he put their ears, they were like that. They were sticking up really
as if they didn't need any kind of you see some dogs. But when he raised our ears and energy lowered our ears, this thing, this thing had his ears up all the time as if they were on the stencils. They didn't need to didn't need any muscles to stick them up. He didn't get these other things coming through their ears. It was like a little tufts like a three leaf clover tought the pair extending off them, and it had
a face like I'm not going to say like an alsay. I had a snout like an Alsatian, but it was much around muzzle as you say, but it was much shorter and stumpier, maybe like a hyaena. Its head was massively. It was the size of yeah, it must be the size of my coffee table here the head and the wits. It was about maybe three feet three now wouldn't yeah, maybe two yeah, three feet two feet maybe you joined beach ball head. But it wasn't circular. It was triangular
in shape. The snout had gray or siever short hairs going from this fund and I was back to the cheeks where the cheek would be in the cheeks, but it would change color from gray into a brownish black. It had eyes that were like an emerald emerald kind of sky blue in the sky blue kind of but you went all blue. They had a black, real black
Pierson puple. It had like a rump at the back of its back of its head that it's like joint be as if I had a hoodie on, but it was had the hoodie tuck in at the back of its neck. It was like a huge beat musle at it. And then it totally showed me a wold self. It step took one step out and looked at me as if and when he stepped out, and I looked him from the waist up so they mightn't want to take me always up the actual parts that were moving as in his head. He gave me this kind of look as if.
Hum it was like he smiled at me. I know it's a stupid thing to say. Animals can smoil, but he's he's able. He was smiling at me, and you messed up. That's the feeling I got up. No, I have to show you. I have to teach your lessons. That was that kind of lucky and really really sinister, and the black pupils looking through me. But the worst was the width of his shoulders. Who looked it looked as if it was someone had drawn him on a piece
of paper. It was comical how big he was. Both he wasn't overwhelmingly overwhelmingly sorry getting a bit, I was starting a stammer a bit, because a stammer when I get nervous. He wasn't overwhelming big as in height. He must have been six foot six, maybe pushing seven feet. He wouldn't be huge, but the shoulders are just unbelievable. He looked as if someone had just drawn them on. They were so he looked comically. But I don't know how. He just just going moved around of a column agoy whatever
he is. Maybe he got through the doorways. That's too wide he was. He'd get trapped, gone through a door. But he'd tapered down so quickly into his waist. His waist must have been he's tindered my waist, Like yeah, he'd probably be tinted my waist. He'd paper down from three three and a half feet wide at the top straight down into maybe twenty four
inch waist. It was crazy how he looked. But he had a twelve pack most in the stomach, well uniform here maybe one and a half two inches black coming in from his ribs, coming into an angle and meeting in the middle of his chest like you see you see some men and going down in uniform the uniform line into where where we have a belly button? Well, I didn't see. He didn't have a bellbody, didn't see any belly button. He was just covered in a uniform. Here to this belly button
area. He was a male one hundred scent. He was a male because it was all there the show. But his hands and his arms were just they were built for visceral chearing. And he could see how his hands were ready. They were just killing, killing machines. He looked. It would make Freddie Krueger look like a beast on the Sunday. That's how this this shops. And they were like giants and raccoon hands. But he had these massive, massive, black, guilty gone off yellow nails. Claws, yeah,
Morley claws at the ends of them. But they were just all broken and shipped. But they were like you could see that they were taking off a lot of damage to the man. Still they're still able to do the business. Yeah, he was. He was just standing there and this smiled the game. He was just and their teeth were like it was so white
and sharp. It looked as if somebody had I thought someone must have foiled down his teeth in some sort of work room again, an engineer and foiled his teeth and had them all picture perfect, and they were so white. He looked at silver to me, looked as if they were silver. This is all in the space of I don't know many seconds. I saw horrible. That part was bad enough, But when he told when he had he had one arm around the three, leaning out and shown me his his his
left on the right hand side of me, he was shown me. He was shown me his left. Then when he totally came out and stood by the three, that's when I just lost it. That's when I remember looking up. I said, how's he? How's he gone so big? In my own head? But I didn't realize that I had fallen down on my backside in front of him. I don't know how. It must have been money he stood out. I stepped back, ended up on my rear round and that's when he pulled his so called force I call it. I call
it a dog's It was like a man's foot. But it was the nearest thing I see it. It's just the luckily shade. The nearest thing I saw to it that luck resembles to it was the transformation on the eighties movie American American London. If you see his foot when he changed in that girl's house, when he was staying over, when that is what he had to be, but it looked as if I only the front part that his foot actually hit the ground. He stood on his toes and maybe a couple of
pads, and then the rest of his foot was elevated. But it wasn't. It was just hovering above the ground, maybe on three or four inches above and maybe two inch claws. I only saw four They just on this foot. They only saw this foot close. Because the reason why I remember it is when this is the part that really that I had, that I had a trouble dealing with his He put his foot on top of my foot, well his toe was touching my to more or less. He was looming
over me, standing over me with his those dog legs. What wasn't men's legs it was it was the hawks as we called them over here. He had dog hawks, the reverse dog. It just I said, what how is this even real? How is this even happened? I thought it was in a dream or so. I thought, this is a dead man. He's gonna do what he does because June boy looks down clause he's been doing
it already. He learned over me, and I don't know what he was doing, but he was looked to me as if pople smiled right dogs don't smile. This looked to me as if it was more dog than man, more animals than man, because the only thing that really was man about it was his his torso was built. He was standing on to two feet two two two two feet yeah, two two clods two ready heavy cloud feet and
he looming over me. And he must have been the or one and a half he oh away from me body was, but his foot was out forward, as if as if the pin wife to where it was, or maybe to stop me from trying to get. But even if I had but just jellify dog. Yeah, my heart start raising so much I couldn't catch a breath. It was like, really, it's like real living the whole thing again. What um, And this is only fifteen minutes away from away from a roads, is this? This is not in the middle of nowhere.
This is but it's in the middle of nowhere, but there's still civilization, there's there's still a lot going on around the area. It's how braising these teams are. And it's only recently the real up learned that I thought mine was just a one off, but um, yeah, he's looming over me, and I thought this is this is very and it's kind of saying himself, Look, I don't care if I don't feel. I don't mind if I don't fee anything. I just don't want to be torn to pieces and
be able to feel every glow or rip or whatever. And he looked down at me because I was looking up. He looked down on me as if he was enjoying, as if he was getting pleasure from what he was doing to me. And I was saying to myself, how was this even? No one's gonna know this is real? And I will never be found. No one's gonna put together that this animal come out of nowhere and took me or killed me, or they're just gonna find me in pieces all over the
starts. That's the one thing I thought of as my family. And I'm not going to get back from this country in pieces. Then it's just strange. Things flash through your head on the stay and I remember closed me aways
and he looked as if he was gearing up to have a swing. They let one rip, let one floy as we say, that was as as in give me a bang of his hand with all these clause and it and it caused me always waiting for that blow, waiting for the bang, or waiting for all some sort of the smell against the smell of it's just wing. I closed me always there could smell. It was like a hot breath, but it wasn't like hot breath that it was like a horse's hot breath.
If you ever smelled, it was like a sweet barley, but sweet barley kind of smell. And I'm not too sure if that was his breath, that that was an order coming off him, because it was pretty pungent when they when the encounter happened, then it was gone to see owns. It was over, So I'm not too sure of it. If the cousins that to him. I never closed me, always waiting for this the blow to pump. This is it, this is it, this is it,
and nothing nothing for about five six seconds, I hope my eye. I looked and he was two maybe three three is back still looking at me. But he able to treat it back to another tree behind that, and I took my put my chances. They did jumped up on the people. It didn't take me always up the hill. I was down down. It was very steep, really impossible to walk backwards down it. But I kind of crawled down it kept my eye on him, and he was doing the same.
He was keeping going on me and retreat and retreat. And after maybe twenty meters thirty meters of a gap, I turn't and I just booked it because I put it down to the It didn't take me that long because it wasn't that far away from the road. So I can't understand. These things have no barriers. No, they've no they have not ill way to look at somebody in the middle of the first and these things don't have produced it. When they want to, they can do whatever they want, and I
don't get anything anyone can do him. I need to stop them because it was only, as I said, a fifteen minutes walk from the Maine made it the road into a small village. Although not being used that much the road, it's still it's still civilization and buildings and goings on, people coming and going. But yeah, that was more less it and coming back then three boys were still asleep and I didn't I was crying. I didn't know what to be doing with myselves. Just as well. It was Saturday morning
and nobody was out. I saying, it was just crazy man walking around crying. I go straight back to the BnB, sat in the lobby. I'm just didn't know what must have been even even snapped out of it. One of the boys can go out from the room. Brian, it's just an easing. You're only getting home now, No, because he was he was pretty dumb right before he said Now, I came back at she was last night, says we're awaiting for the walk, and he goes. He looked like, and you know the you know the rest of it. I
won't say any bad words on this. He said, you look like, blah blah, you need to go and have a shower. I didn't know the time that I you'renated all over myself listening to some of the stories your podcast, not too too ashamed to join that up because I don't know it's say, it's the it's a normal person. But then coming back coming back to land, then I just didn't know how to handle it, what to do with it, where to put it, how do you put that into
a box, how do you deal with that? Whatever. The States, it's kind of known sasquatch donn bla. It's kind of as a following over your country, but over here it's like people think, what are you talking about? People have told I've told a couple of close people that I thought I could really trust. One kind of laughed, And it's helpful when someone laughed at you, when when you're when you're opening up handling something seriously that's
bottom me, it's getting too you. And someone laughed, and I just just learned then really quick not to say anything, just to try and put a put the past or put it somewhere and just lock it away and not
say but that doesn't look as I said. You can talk them to make it back in the two thousands fifteen once or twice since then, and this is the only time where it could really get it together, just to give a full recount of what happened, because the first time I tried to tell him I could be a half by true and he's so good and the feeling process, thank you for But it's it's a non going thing. It's no
way. It's not as if they can have a group over here in northern where we can get together once a week can talk about her encounters, because nobody in this country has anything like that. You don't have anything like that. I don't think we have any people close boy, or people who can whatsapper text or give a quick ring too and talk to you about it,
because just simply don't exist. So that's spelled it more or less. After you made it back to the B and B after having such a traumatic experience, was there any time from the moment you set foot in that B and b until the time you set foot on Ireland that you allowed yourself to be alone? I was alone, and I suppose if you can, if you can count it being alone. I was alone in the reception of the BnB because there was a girl that used that walks on the help desk. She
comes and goes, but I was. There's a room after and that's where I went because it was a mess. Like as I said, I urinated on myself and I'm sure my face was there was you know, what do you know when you cry and you're oping your I mean hands are toty from falling in the forest as well, So I'm sure I was. I was just sorright to look at. But I was alone for the first straight away afterwards, I was alone for about two hours. Well that had to be
difficult. Yeah, maybe that was about the worst thing I like, But I didn't want to go up in and make chaps up and tell them straight away because I was still dealing it in my head. I was trying to compute while it just happened. So hope, could I tell somebody else what it just happened? And I didn't realize what happened to yourself? Oh sure,
yeah, you were just trying to put the pieces together. If you've had a dog me an encounter would like to speak with me about it, whether I'm private or on this show, please go to dog meant Encounters dot com and submit a report. If you've had a bigfoot sighting and would like to be a guest on one of my two bigfoot shows, please go to my Bigfoot Sighting dot com and let me know. When you finally told your mother about that experience. How did she respond? Oh, way, motor,
she's real Irish. She's a real Irish mother. If way to hold her black was wait, she'd believe me. She doesn't no idea what a cryptos is or that's why the most famous did this big foot or whatever. That's probably as the longest history are more people talk about it. But she wouldn't even know what big foot is. She's so she doesn't go on any songs to social media, she doesn't help to even send an email. She's really really all school. She doesn't even have my boy phone. She still
has the house phone. So that's what I love about her, because but she she says, literally said to me listening, if it happened, if it happens here, and that's what you say happened, that's what happens. She believes it's just somebody else in my family had told they didn't believe me, and that that's what horse. You've got a great mother. I'm impressed. That's great. Yeah, you know Irish, Irish mammies, they are famous, but love under their sons. I'm the only boy as well the
rest of all girls. So and I'm the youngest. But I told my mother in law. No, I told me mother law because I'd be pretty close to her as well. You would be always jailed from day one. And I met her daughter twenty five years agot A, you know, so she's like a second mammy and she just she just laughed like she's laughing and she's waiting for me to laugh with her. You had a straight face, and what are you laughing at she was? She talked was a joke.
It's no joke. I'm telling something in them that's between me and you and that nobody else. I'm telling something that's really keeping me down. Really happened, and I'm shooking to the other and trying to share it. But she was trying to obviously say, problem shares the problem half, that's what I talk about. No, she just laughs, no such thing, and no such thing exists. So I don't explain why it's. Ah, you didn't he minds playing tricks on you. Okay, he mights playing tricks on me.
Well, some people are so ignorant you don't want to if you told them the hair was on fire, you still say that. There's no where, no where in this room. You know, people are just taking You're right. Yeah, that's her problem, not a you problem. I'm just so sorry to hear that. She responded that way. Yeah. See,
as I said, there's not many people they could tell. There's no well I supposed to is now because there's plenty of people on the Dog Encounters Family is you can you can just leave a message, doesn't It's huge support there, And that's one thing I never even taller, but at that time it
was looking. It was looking for someone tangible, so a real person that could sit down and talk to, to listen and just to not judge, not say yeah, not saying no that they believe me, just to listen to anyone who told from me on mother just had a giggle, just had a giggle, couldn't believe what it was. So that's when I learned quick, quick smart downs. Nobody put this on in the box, put it
somewhere in your mind and forget about it. More people who tell the more people who think you're a nut job, or you're out in that field pick a matching mushrooms or whatever. But yeah, that's where I learned, just to bottle it up and saying nothing. And then after a few years I realized it was doing more harm than good doing that. So that's when I firston It really is a shame you have to worry about concerns like that when
you have such a traumatic experience. It would be so nice if yet all these people you could reach out to you for help, But unfortunately, as you found out, that's just not the case. When you have a dog me an encounter while you're walking through the forest before you saw that dog man. Did you ever see any deer or other large animals? No, there was absolutely nothing. Do you know, I believe it or not. It was so quiet. I never realized him quite it was, But no,
jo Ony, think ourselves really really really rampant. It was big mushrooms grown out of the trees, the old hungo everywhere. No what a living thing? No other There's a few boards, but I think there was a couple of ravens, and there was squack and mcmad, but there was no dear. And there was cattle in the sheep. There was cattle in the field. Oppositely the forest, there was cattle there are like but in the forest itself or in the adjoining fields there was no no deer, nothing nothing.
Yeah, it wouldn't be surprised if he had worked his way through all the deer and other animals like that there unfortunately. Yeah. How far do you think you were from the trail where you saw that dog Me and Mick? Not too far at all. No, because I realized that I was, I wasn't on the trail when I start getting too the all growth, the groat, nimber and That's when, of course noticed that the mushrooms everywhere, and Scott and I was having to go off. I was walking the straight
line. I had to go off the straight line to go around trees and stuff like that. And I was saying, look down and then honest, because the trail was like like a hard packed shale, and there was hard packed down maybe three foot wide, and it was hard packed so you could you could to walk on. And that's when I realized that I was just just off the trail. I'd say it was about maybe maybe two hundred yards off the trail, not too far, Yeah, not far at all.
Then, no, not too far at all. And then if I've had to walk back to the trail, would be maybe maybe a mile back to the road. Did you have any trouble finding your way back? No, As I said, it was all downhill. And the reason why I knew what I would have no problem getting back is that's the very start. The trees were not dense at all, not dense, and the trees at the
very start were newer trees. It looked at me as if the area that I started, that where the trail started, something was maybe earmarked for being built there because it looks as if it was maybe dug out with a couple of big machines. Maybe I don't know. Maybe I don't know. Maybe forty or fifty trees were planted, because you could tell these are only young
trees. They're only four or five years old, these trees. So it looked as if the small area at the very started the trail was maybe being vacant or may he decided to cut the trees down at the time and do something with the land, and he didn't, so the replanted. Because if tomorrow I walked up hill, the more trees I came across, the more denser then the old growth started. So but I knew exactly where I was
because if I had to come it was walking up hill. It was so it was so steep, big that you couldn't really get lost because it's so up hill. If you're walking sideways, you're walking sideways. If you're walking down, you're walking back down. That's so easy it was. It's all. It was like a massive, big, massive, big rectangular entrance into this place. I was straight up hill and straight downhill, and I knew where I was going. I was coming down, but I was coming down
at a quicker pace. Obviously he was running, but it was leaving the more denser area end coming to the sparsity place trees. And they were younger looking as well, so I knew I was in the right spot. So it wasn't even get that long I was. I was only out. I thought I would say I left the B and B seven maybe it was around seven, Yeah, and I was backing on it by quarter to nine, so it wasn't gone on all. Yeah, it sounds like you weren't.
Yeah, that dog men obviously was a terrifying sight. But would you describe as being a monster or just a frightening looking animal? No, Yeah, now he was a monster. Monster to me, he was a monster, especially the way he smoiled than he knew what he was doing, putting his foot over mine nearly am like Pinnamy foot the ground. Yeah. Whether he was truly a monster or an animal, his behavior, best way to describe it his monstrous. Yeah. Animals don't smoil at you, Animals don't come
to you. Animals want to avoid men. Let's be honest, Men and human beings are the most destructive things in the world at a minute, and for him to reach out and put his foot close to mine. That's a sign of he's not afraid, he's he's not himid animal. This thing is he's think he was stating his superiority over me or something like that. That's the feeling like go, and the feeling that when he when he smiled, it was it was it to say, you've really messed up. But I
wouldn't use mess I used a different world. But that's the feeling like yeah, like I said, that's truly monstrous behavior. The only way it could have been worse would have been if he would have attacked you, and you think, goodness, he didn't do that. I thought it was coming. That's why it closed me always, because it was looming over me. It
was like you put yourself. I had my feet up and my knees were bent, and was sitting on right behind and I had one hand behind me propping myself up, so it was on as the step and I was looking up and I would say his blood right hand was drew like it was hovering around three four fronto my face and a red back and any kind of movement towards rearing his hand back. That's when they closed to the eyes that they knew it that he moves as I have. That's the sithing that he's going
to make a move. And there's no way dispointed his team. It's no way, any man. I don't care who you are. If you said three or four Bruce Lees or Took Norris or whoever, these chaps wouldn't last five minutes. But the way this thing is built, everything was just proportionate, perfectly proportionate. Wasn't He wasn't overly mustly, he wasn't skinny and small musly, he was like everyone had a purpose his nails and he was just
a killing machine. That's how he looked. Maybe it was just it was all a show or I don't know, but it was really really really impressive and really really really scary at the same time. They know what they're doing. Unfortunately, they know the buttons to push and they're too good at it. Yeah, it's not lost on you, Mick that a lot of people who are interested in dog man thankful kill what human if they have the chance to do that after having your encounter, what would you say to them about
that? Well? I was in that camp for a long time. I thought maybe he was just he was going to kill me, and he was just the store, but then I had to and then talking to you, and then thinking on it as well as he whatever wherever a long this I would say the whole encounter lasted a minute maybe more, with me seeing him the first time and then not seeing them looking over again, and him making
himself visible and then moving to the second three and then shown himself. He could have had me at any time, he had me bank the rights and seeing how fast these things mill. If he wanted to kill me, I would have been dead without even seeing him. He could have come up, he could have came. He could have blindside of me, I paint from behind or whatever. I think they're only just there to scare. I don't know what they're thing is, maybe to dig it off and I don't know.
No, they'll not all kill the changes, as as as I've learned. But he listened to the people's and kill just whatever. They'll kill him, livestock and the well that's oppose. You have to get you have to live UNTD you have to eat a sustenance and everything else. And maybe maybe one or two bad ones do kill the humans. Who knows. But he had me bank the rights he had could have had me, but he didn't. So that says something about they're not all killing machine. They're not all
going towards team. Maybe he's putting this planet. Maybe he doesn't know what he is either. He's probably just trying to find himself. Quite or no, but they're definitely not all killing machine because if that was the case, I wouldn't be sitting here having this conversation exactly. I'm so glad you realize that. Did he ever tail Mick? If so, how do you describe
it? No, I didn't see it till at all of it. I've never seen in the back room because the only time he saw and he was retreating back to the trees behind him, like he was in the tree back back. He was the uman I was doing. He was going backwards but keeping his eye on me, and he was I was looking at him.
But I've never seen his behind or the back of him. The only black part of them I saw was the when he couldn't really miss it, when he when he turned his head any kind of off center and he could see was that rump at the back of his head. It was like a I don't know what it is like a joint, big rump just where our next are, the base of our next where their next made their shoulders. It was a massive, big MASSI big muscle there. But he didn't see his
behind after that anywhere. Yeah. From listening to you talk about what happened, it sounded to me like he always faced you. Yeah, yeah, and he was never well. If he did have a tail, it wasn't alarmed because he was off center. Maybe maybe I don't know ten degrees when he had his foot right beside miculp. And if you have any kind of big tail, I'm sure it will probably stick out with your off center. It didn't see any tail. Oh yeah, I'm sure it would have been.
Did he ever make any sounds during the course of your encounter with him? Not one sound at all, not even people say they grew all and so I didn't hear a peep. And but the the only I was here was they got pulsate in my year, but relized after that while it was the blood pumping in my ears because that's all I could hear. It was like, you know what I mean, the sound of blood pumping. But no, there's no sound at all at all, Thank God, Oh,
yeah, I know exactly what you mean about the blood pumping. Three years when you first laid eyes on him, did you ever think about running? Yeah, well, the first time I saw him, I wasn't sure if I saw it, don't know, because it was just so he was so quick. I glanced over and he pants. I look down, as I said, look down at my feet. So I was watching my putting them because of the roots and stuff, the old bloat. And then I looked up again, and that's what I caught. Contact them now so so intrigued
them what I was looking at. I didn't even think about running. I don't know why. And then when I realized what it was, I just the whole body was just legs like jelly. If my mind had a said run, I don't think me body would enable the function. That's not that I even joy it too, but I'll be able to well. Regardless of the reason, I'm so glad you didn't try to run. I think that's maybe what they want. You want a bit of a chase. I'm not too sure if you run from a dog, they're going to run after you.
I shouldn't really compare it with a dog, because that's not what they are, but it's nearest thing to comparison. Well, when you consider some of the things they do, they do have some dog like tendencies. But if you would have run, do you get that much more of a rise out of you? I'm pretty sure you would have chased you, like you said, yeah, just for the pleasure of chasing. Yeah. It probably would have put Marvel Roy's elm me. Yeah, yeah, I'm sure you
would. Yeah. Are you glad your encounter happened so far from home or would have been easier to deal with if it would have happened closer to where you live? Absolutely? I'm deloyed to happen somewhere else because I can pull it away in a box saying that happened over there, It's not going to happen over here. That's exactly. One of the best things about it is that it didn't happen on my front doorstep are my favorite place to walk with
my children? Are the place where I go could happen with my son. It didn't happen there, happened on the forum bunty way way over there in eastern Europe. So I put it in the box and leave it over there. And I know it's a bad thing to say, but that helped me a lot, saying that it wasn't going to happen here. No, don't feel bad about that. I mean, if it's the positive that it happened so far away, we'll take any good news we can get exactly. Yeah,
definitely, you had a strong Catholic upbringing, Mick. Do you think that's helped you deal with that experience? And well, I've played an awful lot afterwards. I thought it was something that I'd done. Always been happened because something that I've done, But it's just where we brought ups Cattan, especially in Orleans. Yeah, it helped an awful lot because meeting the Bible as well, I helped an awful lot because it is always going to be
good, it's always going to be bad. Blah blah blah blah. Yeah, praying helped me a lot. It never took it away, but it made it easy a little bit, if you understand I'm saying it took a small but as anyway, Oh good, I'm glad it did help. Then. Yeah, what's about time for us to get out of here, Mick. But before we do, do you have any clothing comments you'd like to
share. I'd just like to thank you first of all, because ever since I got touched due the first time, even the second time and the tour time, it's been a big, great help because I kept forgetting the one thing that if he wanted me, I was gone, So he wasn't able to get me. He wasn't he wasn't just scifically looking for me. He was just out there the homody does talking about a total stranger. I think that's the mistake I made. Maybe I would have had a better outcome.
I've had to hold a total stranger. Radn't told someone that I got was close to me. If I had to hold someone that was totally didn't know who it was, maybe got a better reception out of it and maybe made you feel a whole lot better. Though the whole situation tells whole stranger than tells someone that I forsted than caredabile. That's all the past, No,
that's about it. Just share more and care more. Well. Like I told you, Mick, it's bad enough you had to experience that encounter, but when you got back home and you would expect that you would have gotten all the help from all these people that you shared your experience with, but unfortunately you didn't. It really is a shame that you had to deal with that as well, but thanks again so much for your time making have a great night.
