Episode description

For more fantastic stories, visit Carol on Medium.com. This story breaks from my humor story tradition but is relevant today and is something I experience regularly. I've been approached on Facebook, Quora, and X (Twitter).

It's annoying because it takes time to discern if it's a scam. Sometimes, I know upfront, like the old dudes claiming they're widowed, former military personnel, or military personnel but have incomplete profiles and few posts. I get those on Facebook.

X (Twitter) and places like Quora are harder to root out. But the moment they tell me how beautiful I am, offer to lend me one of their many cars, or say they want to be my "friend," I know for sure they're a scammer.

I've catalogued some of my experiences on my YouTube channel in shorts, https://youtube.com/shorts/FO8pb3-bpY0?si=fRC0cRAr3PYm9KRu and https://youtube.com/shorts/BXBmEtAKU1U?si=69LkdMp79FmZeowk
