It was great to have James Outman back at Dodger Stadium as they set out on the road. James, thanks a lot for the time, and man, great to have you back in a Dodger uniform. Great to be back. I had a blast yesterday and it's really really nice being back home. What was your reaction to the fans reacting to you in your first start back. It was awesome, man, It's uh, you know, playing in front of these fans is a real blessing and I had like a nice ovation
when I came back, and that was pretty heart woman. Can you describe the difference between this James Outman and the one we last saw? Uh? I think, I don't know. I mean, I'm still the same guy, still the same same player, just a feel more relaxed and I'm just gonna go out there and play and kind of try and keep it simple. Now. Did you feel like you could catch your breath in Oklahoma City?
Yeah, I think I had time to kind of step back and work on a few things and you know, just kind of take things day by day and get back to the player that got me to the big leagues. I was tracking to you when you went down and it told me that James Outman wasn't sulking. He was taking this as a challenge to be better mentally. How did you handle that? I just told myself, still playing the same game. And you know, whether whether there's you know, the bright lights
or not, it's still it's still baseball. So I just wanted to get out there and you know, continue to try and make myself a better player than I was yesterday. Can you tell us so, without getting too inside baseball, just what you worked on to try to be better, mainly just timing, just getting on time, being relaxed and getting my swing off. Who helped you the most? Oh, it was a it was a it
was a group effort. Yeah, to say the least. There was a group effort for sure, many burst hitting coach and triple As huge help just getting confidence back, and Brett pill came down for a while for a week. But yeah, definitely a group effort. I kind of grabbed a lot from a lot of different people. It takes a village, right, Definitely. James Outman is our guest. Tarzan is back with the Dodgers, and I know you're an unselfish player. It's about not only you, but the
team. How happy are you for the success of guys like Andy Pa Haz and Miguel Vargas. It's great. It's you know, you come up through the system with those guys, and it's fun when you can kind of reach the pinnacle of your careers in terms of where you're playing together. Gavin Lux is still here, James, how does that make you feel? It makes me feel happy. He's a lovable type of guy, right, Gavin. He's just staring at us awkwardly. Hopefully he's gotten over his nasal sinus thing
from a few days ago. Stay away from him arms distance length. I don't know about that. It feels like you haven't missed a beat. It feels like you were just here yesterday. With the way everybody has just you. Yeah, it was awesome coming back. I gave out a lot of hugs my first day back, seeing everybody for the first time in a month or two months or whatever it was. And but yeah, it's you know, I I played with these guys for for a while, so it's it's
great seeing everybody. You're not usually a hugger, so I was surprised to see that. Yeah, I just missed them all right, thanks a lot for the time, James. Great to have you back and continued success. Thank you, David, appreciate it.
