And now your host for Morongo Casino Dodgers on Deck, Damn kase Hi. Everybody had a welcome in Jumo. Wrongo Casino Dodgers on Deck. You're Los Angeles Dodgers, fifty three and thirty three on the season, first place atop the NLS. As we get ready for this Fourth of July weekend. After a dramatic walk off win last night, the Dodgers are back at it tonight, Game two though this three game series against the Diamondbacks. Gavin Stone on

the mound, first pitch at seven to ten. Coming up. Over the next hour here on Marongo Casino Dodgers on Deck, we'll hear from Dodger manager Dave Roberts. We'll dive deeper into this pitching matchup David Vasagos one on one with Miguel Vargas. We'll get you your Dodger magical moment. Shortly, we'll check in with Kirsten Watson, Lavio Twani Rewind. In just a few minutes, we'll hear from Rick Monday and Steven Nelson at the Gallpin Motors Broadcast booth.

Well, last night it was a dramatic end for the Dodger. There's a walk off win in the ninth inning. Bobby Miller got the start. By the way, It's Bobby Miller. Bobblehead night out at Dodger Stadium tonight. Bobby Miller five innings, two runs, four hits, four strikeouts. He had a two to nothing lead after ta Oscar Hernandez infield choice in the third to give the Dodgers a two to nothing lead, but that lead was

evaporated in the fourth inning. Christian Walker, the Dodger Killer, a two run home run to the center in the fourth that tied the game of two. The Diambacks took a three to two lead in the top half of the seventh inning, only to see the Dodgers grab it right back and more on Showy Otani's home run to right center field the two run shot and the Dodgers led four to three. However, in the eighth inning, the Diamonbacks would tie it up, and the ninth they'd take the lead on a Jock Peterson

a home run, So the Dodgers down. Going to the bottom of the ninth inning, they had two outs when a little two out magic happened for Freddy Freeman. Here we go, Freddy with a base hits for right center. Mit splits the gap. It'll get all the way to the wall. Smith stores. Freddie Freeman clutches up. In the ninth We are tight at five. Freddie Freeman with the RBI double to right. That tied the game and five. That's the top tier play of the game sponsored by Arco Quality

top tier gas for less. Freddy Freeman down to his final strike. He was in an O two count with two strikes and doubled the right center field. So now Freddy standing on second, still two out for Taoscar Hernandez Raymond on second, see you wall out of the stretch. Hernandez quells the ball basement on the field. Freddy's gonna be waved around. The throw in from Gurriel hits off the play tail the hero again. The Dodgers walk off the b backs. He's being not between second and third, six five to the

final. The Dodgers score two runs with two out on the bottom of the ninth inning. With their last breath, they take the series opener from Arizona tay Oscar Hernandez a walk off RBI singles scoring Freddie Friedman. Dodgers went two out in the nine score two runs they win at six to five. Evan Phillips gets your win in relief. Dodgers take the series opener in a dramatic

win. They are now fifty three and thirty three on this season. The Dodgers now look to make it two straight over the Snakes tonight with Gavin Stone on the mound, first pitch coming up at seven to ten. With more, we head out to the Gallpin Motors broadcast both as we say hello to Rick Monday and Steven Nelson. Guys, thank you Tim. With Rick Munday here and mo. Last night, it was a gorgeous night to kick off the six game homestand and it looked like at the very end it was going

to begin with one of more frustrating losses of the year. But they snatched victory from the jaws of defeat three consecutive two out hits. They were down to their last strike and the big four, the top four, I should say, in the lineup without Mookie Betts, of course, I mean, they were terrific last night. Yea, it was one of those games.

And I got a couple of phone calls today and they were angry. They were angry at me because they were listening as they were driving out of the stadium in the ninth inning, when I said, if you're in your car and in the stadium and you're leaving, you may have left too soon. Well, they left too soon, and they missed a heck of a curtain call. It was one of those games that you look at and say, Okay, wait a minute. You're down in the ninth inning and you're down

by a run. You have two outs. Freddy Freeman is going to be coming up, and Will Smith is the hitter. Now he gets the double to begin with. And I proposed the idea, if you're a manager, which way you're going to go? You have first base that is open, you have Freddy Freeman is the hitter. Freeman has one of the higher batting averages in baseball. With two strikes on him, what happened on an O two pitch, He gets the the RBI double that knocked in the tying run.

He's at second base. Now you pitch the TI Oscar Hernandez or do you walk in and get to the rookie and de Paes. Well, they decided to pitch to him. That didn't work, as Hernanus gets the RBI single. The Dodgers, they walk off victory and it's one of those moments too, and especially with the big Crown almost fifty three thousand in the house, a lot of people were stunned. But boy, it was almost like Happy New Year here Dodgers. It really was. We talked about it yesterday

all day. Hey, this is a big game in a big series for the Dodgers against the Diamondbacks. Given the last month and a half malaise at the whole division, but the Dodgers, really they've been hovering around five hundred and for them to find a way to pull it out in that sort of fashion, picking up the bullpen, which has picked them up time and again throughout this year. You know, all their high leverage guys came in and gave up runs. Basically, for the Dodger offense to wake up with their

last out was a really big sign. Now you talk about your friends and many fans who who wanted to get a head start and beat the traffic left too early. Well that kind of ties into the pregame festivities tonight. Eric Gangne twenty year anniversary of his streak. He was one a game over. He kind of inspired fans to stay through the end. Well, today, fans are gonna want to get here early to see Ganye's first pitch. Yeah.

I thought it was interesting too, because Dave Roberts saying with the media a little bit earlier that Eric Ganye asked the manager who was the former teammate of Eric Kanye and made a wonderful catch in Houston's he did down on tals

Hill out in center field to keep a streak. Alian asked Roberts if he'd like to catch the first pitch, and Roberts declient only for the reason, he goes, I saw the pitches that the hitters could not hit, and I do not want to embarrass myself, but trying to catch one of those. So we will see who does have the catching duties for the ceremony. First pitch for Eric Ganya. Can't believe it's been twenty years since a save number eight eighty four in a row. The Dodgers going to take the series

against the visiting Dbacks tonight Game two. Gavin Stone will start. We'll talk more about that the next time we talk to you. Tim. All right, thank you guys. As we count you down to first pitch, Dodger fans get your game day meal on a Shaky's Pizza Parlor. Order your Shaky's Pizza, Chicken and Mojo's right now at Shaky's dot Com. Coming up here on Dodgers on Deck, you'll hear from the Dodger manager Dave Roberts. We'll check in with David Vats. Throughout the show. We'll dive deeper into this

pitching matchup. Your magical moments coming up. Injury report up next. So you're O Tani Rewind and we'll visit with Kirsten Watson from sports Net LA. So you lead you up to first pitch Dodgers and Diamondbacks on this Wednesday night, first pitch of seven ten. Thanks for being with us. I'm Tim Kasin's Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network. It is Lorongo Casino, Dodgers on Dodgers on Deck, y'all on the official home of LA Dodgers Baseball. Dodgers and

Diamondbags on this Wednesday night. Gavin Stone on the mound for sus Fishing Dodgers Stadium on Bobby Miller Bobblehead Night. Coming up seventen. This is the Free Why Show. Hey, coming off an outstanding month in June twelve homers and twenty fours are of an end fly ball left field. Running after at Guriel on the warning track, he drops the ball as he slid to the dirt. So show hey O'tani will take second base. He's in agreement as is

two to one pitch. He steps and fires home and Otani fights at the center field over Perdomo and down in front of Glek Thomas. So Otani has his second hit of the game. Martinez has the ball at the bell, kicks and fires out of the stretch. Otani swings and bubbles the ball. Did the right, Bill, Oh, no doubt about it? Half way up, think we'll do you in it right and have taken the league. Oh run number twenty seven for show hey Otani. He singled, he doubled,

he home run a triple. Shy of the cycle. Otani now sixty four ribies on this season. He goes three for five, now hitting three to twenty and oh yeah, show hey. Otani elected to the All Star Game as his starter just about an hour and a half ago. He'll be

the designated hitter for the National League. First time selection as a Dodger, fourth All Star selection in the Big leagues for show Hey Otani The Otani rewind brought to by eto inins Oo, Japan's number one green tea and the tea that show Hey Otani loves and drinks available at local diso stores, Amazon and Etoin dot Com. That's it o e N dot Com. This is Kirston's

corner with Kirston Watson. Hey Kirson now joins this before the Dodgers and dinadbacks on this Wednesday night, Kirston Kevin Stone on the mound for the Dodgers. He's had a really good first half of the season. Should be an All Star. We'll get into that three minutes. But for Gavin Stone, important for him to have another good outing. Yeah, and he's coming off of the best one of his career of this year, of his rookie season.

He is someone who this year he has been everything that this starting rotation has needed and more. Coming off of a complete game shutout which was amazing in Chicago. So as much as that is not the expectation for the game tonight, Dave said that it's just to go out there and can continue to be really competitive with with his pitches, which we have been seeing thus far. So he said that there's not They're not going to keep him on a pitch

count. They feel like he's in a really good spot. They will be mindful of the stress of each inning just against Diamondbacks. But the hope is for him just to continue being himself and continuing to show why he truly does deserve to be an All Star this year, this big of the All Stars. Gavin Stone deserves it, Tyler Glass now deserves it. The Dodgers could have a good representation, even though starter wise, it's only Showingo Toni.

Yes, so as you mentioned, starter wise, only Shoho Tani got the fan vote, So we're excited to see him representing the National League, representing the Dodgers in the All Star Game. He actually told the media last night that he is not going to partake in the home run derby just because he wants to be mindful that his elbow is still coming back from having that surgery

in the off season, still rehabing in regard to his throwing progression. So we know he's going to be in starter as the DH in the game, which is very exciting. Dave Roberts is optimistic that Freddie Freeman's gonna get in. Of course, with the Mookie Betts, he should get in. He's not gonna play, as we know, but he should be named as an

All Star. Tasker Hernandez should also be named as an All Star. And then when it comes to, like you mentioned, the arms, the hope is that Gavin Stone as well as Tyler Glass now and maybe if we get lucky, Alex Vessia could be an All Star as well. We'll see, but the hope is that there's a lot of representation for the Dodgers in this game. Mookie Betts. I know David beattst had a chance to talk to him Shavi Instagram. But now we're seeing him out of Dodgers Stadium, cures

in a positive feelings about him coming back soon. You know what, It's kind of crazy when you see him out there, and to be fair, because it is a hand injury, he can continue doing a lot of normal things. He was out here running, working with the trayer, he's throwing the ball. There is just so many things that he's still able to do, which is a really good sign because he's keeping his body going and is keeping him in somewhat of a baseball activity. He cannot catch the ball or

field per se. But he can throw in and so he's definitely in a good spot. He's still healing, he still has a brace on his hand, but the hope is that, you know, he's got some time. But he said that he's really open to whatever is asked of him when he comes back. There's some conversation of does Miguel Rojas stay at shortstopp does he move to second base? He said, whatever is asked of me. If does Shohyo Tani stay as the lead off hitter, he said, whatever is

asked of me. He'll be more than happy to step in because he has one goal, much like the rest of the team, and it's to wins whatever it takes to win, and that is what he's going to do when he gets back. So still has some time, but Dave zaid they'll kind of start having those conversations as to what it's going to look like when he returns when it gets a little bit closer, because he doesn't want to mess with the psyche of any of the other players that it could involved with the

move going back to second Absolutely curist to appreciate it. We'll check out with you after the game. Coming up here on Dodgers on Deck will dive deeper into this pitching matchup. David Vasego's one on one with Miguel Vargas. We'll get you an injury report though, and we'll hear from the manager

Dave Roberts when we come back. It's the Dodgers and Diamondbacks on this July third. First bitch is seven ten. I'm Tim Kates's Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network. This is Morongo Cassino Dodgers Hunting on your home for LA Dodgers Baseball. Marago Casino Dodgers on Deck. Continua is on this we Wednesday night. coming up at sevent ten kiss. He's the LA Dodgers injury report. Is it a boy? UCLA Healthy official medical partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Mookie Bets on the I L, Yoshinoba Yamamoto on the ILT, the strain Rotator Croft Walker, Buehler on the IL, This sore hip, Michael Grove on the ILE, the lat sore is, Max Munsey on the I L. Clayton Kershaw on the I L. But he's gonna start throwing again this week. Joe Kelly at them won aning five pitches last night for Rancho Cucamonga.

Bruce dark Gratterol is a countback ranch in Arizona. He is working his way back slowly as well. All Right, let's ted back out to Dodger Stadium and check in with the Dodger Skipper. Questions for Dave Dave, can you just describe Dave? Can you talk about the pressure in the dugouts with Dave Roberts. You know he's, uh, he's just an a really good spot. I think you know it was fun yesterday. You watch some guys throw bullpens. He's there watching. Uh, you know, you see Clayton

do flat ground. Gavin's there watching. You're on the bench and you look down at the end of the bench and he's there watching, and so it's good. Because he's constantly trying to gain knowledge. But physically he's in a good spot. Confidence wise, he's in a really good spot. So I think for me it's like, you know, stay the course and just compete

and physically mentally he's in a good place. Meeting the ulstar starters, you don't know just yet, just kind of when you think about this same co sharing on the sad yeah, there, I think obviously there's a bias.

I think they're all deserving in their own right. You know, it's hard to obviously debate show Hey and what he's done on the field, off the field, and shoot, before Mookie was hurt got hurt, you know, he was up there as far as leading you know, all of voting, as far as it's a shortstop and they need to talk about Tao and his production that he's had consistently all year long. And I think this would be a second nomination, And so I think he's been representing the Dodgers really well.

And then you got a couple of pitchers, Tyler and the guy going tonight, Gavin, I think certainly have a case. Will Smith, I've always said that I think he's one of the top two catchers in baseball, and then I'm probably missing someone else? Whom I missing? Am I missing someone else? Oh? Of course Freddy, Freddie, Freddie should be starting. I think now with Bryce down, I think Freddie's ultimately going to start

in that game. Yeah, Freddy should get to start. We'll find out though, showyo Tony the only one that will start for the Dodgers taskar and Andez misses out as a starter, and so does Mookie Bets, wh wouldn't have been able to play anyways because of the hand injury. I'm Tim Kates's Los Angeles Dodgers on You. Note this is Marongo Casino Dodgers on Deck on your home for the Blue all season law. It's the Dodgers and the Diamondbacks.

Gavin Stone, Christian Mania the pitching matchup. First pitch coming up from Dodger Stadium at seventen joining Tim Kates on Dodgers on deck. I accept everybody for who they are. This is Dodger David BASSI all right, DV. Last night, what a game, down to their final out, down to their final strike with Freddy Freeman, he doubles and then to Oscar they walk off single. The Dodgers just did not die last night on him and look,

things were not looking good. Paul Sewalt's pitches were so nasty against Gavin Lux and show hey o'tani. I talked to Lux about it. He just said the pitch that he struck out looking on, there wasn't much he could do. It froze them. It was one of the best pitches he's seen all season long. Otani struck out swinging on a pitch up and in, and then Will Smith jumped all over a pitch early in the count and the Dodgers were on their way back to a two out rally, and Freddie Freeman

not only tied the games but He also scored the walk off run. And we caught up with Freddy after the game. Yeah, you know, I just we know he's got a good heater that a lot of rides, just trying to be on top of it, straight to it. So likes heater in certain counts, and she tried to be off talk of the ear. I heard you in my head saying I'm looking for strikes. Yeah, I was way of the first one. I would just strike two, but I took that one. But uh no, overall, what a great heavy too.

We'll get it going, get it through it off for ending it. Big win for the Dodgers tim as much as it can be in the middle of July with a ten game lead. But the Dodgers did not play well in San Francisco. They got blown out on Sunday afternoon at Oracle Park.

They come back home. It would have been very disappointing to lose that game last night and the fashion the Dodgers would have lost it, and also they would have had a losing record coming into tonight against Arizona, so that would have been problematic as well, especially when you consider it were these Diamondbacks that swept the Dodgers in last year's NLDS, But all those bad feelings and the

bad taste swept aside with that two out rally last night. Pendy your Southern California four dealers for great offers on a Ford Bronco Sport or any Ford model for in Ford's fourth of July Selifons Forry Damn and Taskar. Hernandez doesn't get named one of the three starting outfielders in the National League, any disappointments on him not getting voted as a starter, well, obviously he's a little disappointed.

Talking to him in Chicago last week when he returned from being with his family after his grandfather passed away, he said he was not going to self promote, which he did not do. His teammates did it to a certain

extent. But there's a very good chance with the injury to Fernando Tatis Junior, who was elected one of the three starting outfielders for the National League, that could open up a replacement spot for Taoscar Hernandez and also Bryce Harper being on the injured list may open up the door for Freddie Freeman to not only be part of the team, but also be the starting first baseman for the National League. Dave Real quick, what's the update on Max Munsey. I

talked to Munsei today. Tim. He is still swinging, but he is not going to give a timeline. All he would say is that things are trending in the right direction. That is certainly good news. David, appreciate it. We'll check back you with you in just a couple of minutes. Coming up here on Wrongo Casino Dodgers on Deck, we'll hear from Miguel Vargas.

We'll then deeper into this pitch he match up as the Arizona Diambacks have called up a twenty one year old rookie to make his major league debut tonight. And we told you then the last Dodger pitcher to throw a complete game shutout. It was April twenty fifth, twenty twenty two, Dodgers taken on the diamonbacks. You remember who it was, Walker Buehler, No balls and two strikes, Buelers set to go. The right hander kicks fires, swang on a

hit of the air to center field. Bellinger's got it. It's a complete game shutout for Walker Buehler. The Dodgers won it Ford to nothing. What a night for Walker Buehler, A night to remember for the right hander. What a terrific night for Walker Builder as he pitches his first career shutout, his third career complete game. Classes can fill up quickly,

so enrolled today and I can go to college dot com. And now joined by David bas saying, here's LA Dodgers' broadcastre and World Series Champion Dodger Rick Monday. Rick, I'm still riding a high from last night's dramatics. In the ninth inning, the Dodgers came to life when it mattered the most. I made a comment last night as they got to the ninth inning, if you left too early and you're listening to us in the parking lot,

you left way too early and you never know what's going to happen. I brought up the scenario in the ninth inning, when you get the double by Will Smith, there's two outs. The Dodgers are trailing five to four, so you got Will Smith the tying run at second base. Freddie Freeman, is the batter in first base? Is open? I asked, is that? Well, here's one question if you're the manager of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Not to second guess him. He went and he said, after the ballgame, you had one of the better hitters against one of the better relievers. So they believed in their players. They just happened to work out. But the present I made was, what if you walk Freddy Freeman. Now you have a force out at any three of the bases. On the possibility of a ground ball out, you're dealing with the guy Freddy Freeman that if you look at what he has done with two strikes over the last number of years,

he has a very high percentage of base hits. In fact, the numbers it he's in the top three in baseball. If you look at the last couple of years with two strikes, Well, what was the count when he got the tying base hit two strikes? In fact it was and two. He fouled off the second pitch that made it oh and two, and then got a pitch and hit it in the center field. Then you look at Tascar Hernanas that comes on. He didn't waste any time. First bases

open again, You've got the rookie Andy Paz waiting on deck. Do you pitch around Tascar Hernandez They elected not to, and a base hit came over and for the Dodgers in front of fifty two thousand plus on end, it was a lovely evening here in southern California. And I'm happy for Ta Sker Hernandez Rick because he has been struggling at different points in time, but certainly

last night three RBIs and the last one was the biggest one. Yeah, and the r Bay tripling, the first ending and then an infield out that discored a run from third base. He's made a lot of adjustments. It's still vulnerability with a slider away, But then again, who's not. Yeah, there's a long list of guys. Yeah, I mentioned that from time to time. That's like a lot of pitches up and end. Well, the guy has trouble with the ball up and end. We'll name those guys

that don't. Right. I mean, if you position the pitch right, that is a very difficult pitch to hit because of the location. So it was the slider away, right handed pitcher to right handed batter Rick last night as well. We've talked about this over the course of the last couple of years since Freddie Freeman put on a Dodger uniform. How good of a base runner he is. He went through the whole scenario after the game with us last night, knowing that the second baseman might try to backdoor him, so

he couldn't get as big of a secondary lead initially. Yeah, and then you match up as you have to trust your third base coach, and there's nobody better to trust than Dino Evil coaching a third and Dino knows I heard part of your postgame show last night, you were spot on about the fact that if you look at Dino, he does his homework, understands who has strong arms, who has accurate arms, because there's two different types of arms,

the strong arm in the accurate. We've seen a lot of strong arms that maybe can't hit the broad side of a barn, but they have a strong arm. If they can find the right barn, they might throw the ball through this side of the barn. But he knows, and he also knows the runners, those that immediately get off to a good start, because some runners, David quite frankly, take three or four strides in order to

get up to speed. Freddie Freeman, even though he six' five, does not take him in extremely long period of time to run the bases, and he knows how to cut the corners. I'm not talking about not getting to the third base bag, but how to approach the bag and get a very good cut as you plant your foot on the bag, so you don't have to go way way out of the baseline and cover more ground as you're going to home plate. And I guess that's another layer to the Scotty report

for Dino Ebol not only the outfielders, but also your base runner. Yeah, you have to know that as well. There's some guys that they have

a built in ropid dope. You don't want them to continue on. And another guy says, hey, look, I remember Joey Malfatano told me once, and do you know a very good student of Joey malfatana on how to coach third base and all the different parameters that go into the thought process immediately right then, But you've already analyzed it in your head before the game starts.

Now the situation dictates what's the score, what ending is it, who's on deck, who's the runner that you're dealing with, How hard the ball was it? Is it hit to the left or the right of the fielder? Does he charge the ball well? Does he field ground balls well? Does he get the ball out of the glove quickly? Some guys take four steps to throw the baseball. Well, those are all things that you're computing, and you have about, oh maybe a second and a half to think

about it to implement it. Fair to say that a third base coach controls the game second to only the manager. Yeah, if you get runners. Otherwise it's like the loner repair man. Well, hopefully he's got more business tonight. See. Thanks Rick, That's how it works out. So yeah, I listen, along with everybody else that listens to you in the postgame. I appreciate it. I'm glad you listen. Some people only hear, but you listen, and some people selective hearing. Yes, no doubt about

it. Thanks Rick. Well check in with you and Steven Nelson a little bit later. I had a first pitch, Eric Ganne throwing out the ceremonial first pitch. In a matter of moments, we'll send it back to you in the studio. Tim, all right, thanks a lot, DV. Thank you Mo. And now what will likely be vast fielding insults from a Dodger player, It's an engagement of endearments is high and touched. The Dodgers are back at Dodgers Stadium and a lot of players have brand new haircuts, including the one and only Miguel Vargas,

the player with the most swag on this team. Always looking great, Miguel, thanks a lot for the time, Thank you, thank you for inviting me here. Hey always, not only do you look good, you feel good and you're practicing hard. Yeah, always always, you know, that's that's why we do going here, practice hard, looking good, you know, and win games. Yes. Indeed, earlier today you were throwing the football around. Are you more of a wide receiver or a quarterback?

Do you think I think, well, like wide receiver. I don't have that feed though, But yeah, I'm working out there with the football, you know, trying to put it into baseball terms a little bit, you know. Now then I'm in the outfield, so I think it really helped me. So I'm I'm keep doing it. What does that help you with? Yeah, I mean, you know, like a lot of time with the balls, like trying to see the uh how do you say trajection of them? And then you said it great? Yeah, yeah, trying to

you know, like you speak better English than Gavin Luks. Yeah that's true. That's true too. Yeah, but you know, like trying to be there and you know, like makes the plays and you know, trying to be soft in the outfield. Thing that helped me a lot. How big we always hear on the infield, we talk about the hands, soft hands. How big are hands in the outfield? You know, I mean it's

pretty the same. I think that obviously the speed on the outfields little bit lower, but you know, like you need to be ready for you know, like every time the ball is getting there is a hardline driver or you know some like that. So I and they keep you know, give your legs moving and your hands be ready. Do you feel like you're more comfortable now in left field than you were even two weeks ago? Yeah, one

hundred of things. I feel. I feel every every time. Every day, I feel, you know, some progress, and then I'm happy about it. And then, you know, trying to be the best I can be out there, and you know, trying to help we get an opportunity. The great Miguel Vargus, a big fan favorite, is joining us in front of first pitch between the Dodgers and Diamondbacks. The one thing that I shared with fans while we were in San Francisco, I think it was perfect

for every player. You put your feelings inside the locker, and when you put on that uniform, it's about the name on the front. How that seems like a very mature Miguel Vargas, You know obviously, you know, I mean we all grew up minds here. You know, we had a job to do every time to you know, we put the uniform. Anything else modeled than within a baseball game. Yeah, it feels like you've handled everything well, whether it's not playing every day or being called upon off the

bench, is your mind. The reason why your bat is as good as it is. Yeah, obviously, you know, uh, feel good, feel great if you're heafly. You know. Obviously my mindset, he's being ready for any situation of the game. So you know, any opportunity that I can get, I need to be ready one hundred percent. Do you feel like your mind and your body is more mature than last year? Obviously you know it's about a year, so I hope, I hope he's grew

up. There will be more so yeah, definitely, definitely I am more you know, ma, sure, you know, being more around big league guys, spend more time with them, and you know that's very helps. Hey, I joke with you, but I do feel our time in Korea really changed you. Yeah, one a good time. Hey, change me for the better. I want to move in with Miguel Vargas. Yeah, you got a really good, nice place to do you so I trust you. Hey, love it. Miguel, thanks a lot for the time.

Continued success, stay healthy and we'll see you soon. Yeah, thank you. The great Miguel Vargas has been our guest. We'll send it back to you in the studio, Tim All right, thanks a lot. Bobby Miller Bobblehead Night. It's a good looking bobblehead. I hope you go on the first forty attendance to the turnstiles and I get one of those bobbleheads. Hopefully the Dodgers can make it two straights over the Arizona Diamondbacks after a walk off win last night thanks to ta Oscar Hernandez's RBI single. Before that, Freddie Freeman and RBI doubled to tie the game in the bottom half of

the ninth inning. Dot to start the night. First place in the NLS will dive deeper into this pitchy matchup when we come back of Tim Katson's Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network. This is Marongo Casino Dodgers on deck on your home for the blue all season long. Dodgers and Diamondbacks on this Wednesday Night.

one year old rookie righthander of the Dominican Republic. He is filling the spot in the rotation for Arizona because Jordan Montgomery went on the injured list earlier this week with knee inflammation. He was three and two with a four to ninety ERA over sixteen starts in Triple A Reno this year. He was acquired from the White Sox in the trade this past offseason. He's made seventy nine starts over four minor league seasons. Tonight his first ever in the big leagues.

Gavin Stone a young right hander for the Dodgers. Twenty five year old nine to two with a two to seventy three RORA. He has been fantastic and we saw this coming Minor league pitcher of the Year in twenty twenty two. Fifth round pick in twenty twenty at a Central Arkansas, highly totted right hander for the Dodgers last time out a complete game, four hitter in Chicago against

the White Sox in which he struck out seven. He has gone six or more innings in nine of his fifteen starts, so he has given the Dodgers everything they need as far as length in games. He has faced the Diamondbacks just one time in his career. He's zero to one with a six RRA. That previous start against him came May twenty first this year, just a couple of months ago. Six innings, he gave up four runs on eight hit and struck out five. That was in a losing effort to the Diamondbacks.

Gavin Stone rookie Christian Maya on the mound, Dodgers Diamondbacks. We're fifteen minutes away from first pitch from Dodgers Stadium. Keys to the game. Our next. serving all Angelinos Lacare dot org. All right, before first pitch, we head back out to the booth Rick Monday, Stephen Nelson, Guys, thanks TC MO. Let's get us set for Gavin Stone his sixteenth start of the year. I'm gonna be honest, I don't know if he's gonna be able to top start number fifteen on the South side of Chicago. That complete game, shutout one hundred and three pitches. I don't care who it was against.

We know who was against, but the fact that he did it as a rookie, as a guy who barely won a spot in the rotation is now on the cusp of being an All Star in twenty twenty four. Yeah, how about that? And that was the first complete game shutout by a Dodger pitcher since Walker Buehler did in April of twenty twenty two. Happened to be against the Arizona Diamondbacks. But that complete game shutout, no runs, four hits, did not walk a bat or had seven strikeouts. So for

Gaven Stone a chance to pick up victory number ten of the season. Who would have been projecting that end of it because of the necessity of going to the the minor leagues and bringing some people up because of injuries, here's Gavin Stone. Roberts also had a great comment, and I say this many many times. When you look at some pitchers, they're also very good observers.

And by that I'm talking about, hey, the guy's not catching up with the fast bowl, or hey he's on the breaking ball, not only throwing the pitch, but observing what the reaction of the hitter is. And for Dave Roberts said, Stone uses his eyes very well besides using his arm and he seems wise beyond his twenty five years as Gavin Stone. I mean doing games with oral that Gavin starts in between breaks. Bulldog will say he's like

Connor, reminds me of me sometimes out there. Wouldn't you like to know sometimes if there was a hurricane meter where he could get inside the head or the body of a pitcher or a player, and wonder is he really well? Is he adrenaline overloaded? Because of that moment he looks calm, cool and collective on the outside. I totally agree. It could be cat five wins. You would not know it by looking at Gavin Stone. He's unflappable. And if you think he's young at twenty five, the guy he's starting

against tonight is even younger. The twenty one year old Christian Mena, one of the top pitching prospects of the Diamondbacks, was acquired from the White Sox in the offseason. He is making his major league debut again at the age of twenty one. That's gonna do it for us, tim for our pregame, so segments will stop yapping at you and get it back to you, and we will see you for first pitch, all right? Thank you, Nelly. Dodgers start the night first place, a top the NL West,

looking to get to win fifty four and catch those Phillies. Who's got fifty six wins most in baseball right now? Dodgers going to play with an eight and a half game lead over the Padres, eleven and a half games up on both the Giants and the Diamondbacks, twenty three and a half games up on the Rockies.
