And now your host for Morongo Casino Dodgers on Deck, Tam Chase, Hi, everybody, and welcome in to Morongo Casino Dodgers on Deck. Hope you're well on this Wednesday night. You're Los Angeles Dodgers sixty one and forty one on this season, first place atop the NL West with an eight and a half game lead in the division. Dodgers winners of five in a row.
After the All Star break. Tonight, they look to keep the street going against the San Francisco Giants on Keith a Hernandez Bobblehead Night as the Dodgers tonight get back Tyler Glass. Now he'll get the start, first pitch coming up at seven to ten. Coming up over the next hour here on Morongo Casino Dodgers onod the deck. We got a lot to get to. We're gonna hear from the manager Dave Roberts. We'll dive deeper into this pitching matchup.
Will if your Dodgers magical moment coming up your O Twani Rewind, We'll get you an injury report. Vas Tegos one on one with Billy Gasparino, the Dodgers vice president of Amateur Scouting, a week after the MLB draft. How did the Dodgers do? And great out? We'll hear for the man in charge that shortly, we'll hear from Kirsten Watson from sports and at LA and in just a few minutes we'll check in with Steven Nelson and Jose Mota out
the Gallpin Motors Broadcast booth. Well, last night Dodgers had a knack forgetting the win. They're fifth in a row, landing knack. The big right hander, the rookie, pitched well for the Dodgers last night. Five innings, one run, two hits, struck out six along the way, throwing ninety six pitches. The Dodgers offense given some instant offense to work with a couple of wild pitches. Have two in scoring position, two balls, two strikes, and now the pitch to looks. Gavin swings line the base hit
the right field. That's gonna get all the way to the right field corner. Then score a pair. Freeman touches home. Hernandez will follow Gavin. What's going for three? The throw to third is in time. They get him, but the two runs had scored, so it's a two run double for Gavin. Looks breaking the ice with two out in the first inning.
Two run double for LuxI is eleventh double of the season, RBI's twenty eight and twenty nine for Gavin Lucks, the raining National League Player of the Week now hit him three ninety three with a twelve hundred OPS over the last nine games. He continues to produce now in the middle of that Dodgers lineup, Dodgers up two to nothing. The one mistake that landon Knack came in the top half of the second inning, Tyler Fitzgerald a solo home run to the
left that cut the lead in half. Dodgers up two to one, but then in the fourth runners on for show Hey Otani. One ball, one strike, Hayward and Bizio the base runners. The pitch, o Tani pulls it the right field. It is gonna hook down and bounce off the warning track, one hop off the cage in front of the giant bullpen. Hayward scores the relay home not in time. Bisgyo Sake puts two more on the
two run double for show Hey old Tony. Twenty six double of the season for Otani that now ties him with Aaron Judge for the Major league lead with sixty extra base hits on this season. That gave the Dodgers a four to one lead of the eighth inny Otani tacked on another run for the Dodgers with an RBI singles scoring Andy Paez that gave the Dodgers a five to one lead.
That's the top Tier player of the game sponsored by Arco Quality, Top Tier Gas for Less shoey Otani also the only player in Major League Baseball this season now with thirty home runs and twenty five doubles. As the Dodgers go on and beat the Giants last night five to two, got a little iffy there on the ninth inning with Alex Vesia on in relief, a couple of walks a hit gave up a run, but Evan Phillips came in and got out of it by getting the final out of the game after a walk.
As the Dodgers get the five to two win, the win goes to Landon Nack. He's now two and two, save number fifteen for Evan Phillips for the Dodgers, there are again twenty games over five hundred on the season. It's sixty one and forty one and eight and a half game lead in the division, and tonight they look to keep it going. With Tyler glassnew fresh
off the IL, he is backing on the mound for the Blue. First pitch is seven ten and with more we head out to the Galpin Motors broadcast booth as we say hello to Stephen Nelson and Jose Mode guys, thank you Tim Here with Jose, Mota and Jose. The Dodgers riding high five game winning streak, the longest winning streak of five plus of the first winning streak of at least five games since they won seven in a row from May one to May eighth, and so they've taken the first two games this final series
against San Francisco and five to out RBIs last night. So let's talk about the offense on this side. As he talk about RBIs, think about the last twenty four runs they have scored, thirteen have been driven by the last five guys in the lineup, which is remarkable considering that, you know, throughout the season the story has been pretty much do the narrative, where's the
other side of the lineup? Well, now they're getting it done, and they're gonna get done also in different ways, because we look at kick your Hernandez and the wayste contribute, Look at Gavin Lutz and the wayst contribute. They look at Chris Taylor prolonging at bats and then playing fundamental baseball. That's been pretty much the basic back to contact, back to driving the ball the
other way when they need to protect with two strikes. And then the best part is the emotional side that you talked about last night, the two out RBIs I've been there, and that hurts the other team even more so tonight they try to take this series from their rivals. And we have a couple of pitchers coming off the injury list, one in Tyler Glass Now. His was just a brief stint, a minor one at that and Glass now has said if it wasn't if it was the postseason time, he would have pushed
to pitch through it. But it was the All Star breaks, we took it easy. On the other side, Robbie Ray his season and Giants debut, was acquired from Seattle in the offseason. And I'm thinking about one thing, is Taostra Hernandez going to stay hot? And can Tyler Glass now cool off Tyler Fitzgerald because he's homered in five consecutive games. That's gonna take a
little strategy as to make him feel uncomfortable in the batter. And for ti Oscar, I don't worry too much about when he's in one of these streaks like this and he's making contact that swing and shorter. The results have been there, and I think he looked for situations and just hunts pitches and really wants those type of situations. So I'm not to worried about him because he can go out there and go one for four and still get you a big
base hit. Seventeen game on bass streak for Tao, he's slashing three sixty nine, slugging five sixty nine during the stretch with twelve RBIs So Tayo and the Dodgers approaching game number three of this series. As Tyler Glass now makes his return from the Angelust will dive more into Glass when we chat with you again. Tim, All right, thanks a lot, guys, as we caut you down to first pitch. Dodgers fans, get your game day meal

Out of the Dodgers grade out how they replunish that minor league system. We'll find out more,
and also checking out with Kirsten Watson when we return. So we lead you up to Dodgers and Giants on this Wednesday night. First pitch is seven tens Keith a Hernandez Bobblehead night out at the Ravine. Thanks for being with us. I'm Tim Kasis. Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network is Laurento Casino, Dodgers on Dodgers on Deck. Y'all on the official home of La Dodgers Baseball, Dodgers and Giants on this Wednesday night. Tyler Glass, now fresh off the
injured list, Robbie Ray makes his San Francisco debut. First pitch coming up at sevent ten. This is the Otani rewide one ball, one strike, Hayward and Vizio the base runners. The pitch Otani pulls it to right field. It is gonna hook down and bounce off the warning track. One hop off the cage in front of the giant bullpen. Hayward scores the relay home. Not in time, Bigio Say put two more on the board, a two run double for show Hey Old Tani. The two two pitch, Otani
lines a base hit to center field. Potz comes home. Heyward's going to third. He slides in safe third RBI for Otani in LA five one. Dodger leads show Hey Otani with the two run double on the fourth then he followed out up with an RBI single in the eighth inning. He drives in three runs last night as he improves his average to three fourteen on this season. He drives in three of the Dodgers five runs as they beat the Giants
last night by a final of five to two. The Otani Rewind brought to by Eto inns Oyocha, Japan's number one green Tea and the Tea the Shoeotani Loves and drinks available at local Diso stores, Amazon and eto in dot com. That's it o e A dot Com. This is Kirston's Corner with Kirston Watson and Kirson now joins us on this Wednesday night before first pitch. It's been a busy day for the Dodgers. Kirson ryan a winning streak, and
they add a new face to the lineup. They did they added Nick on Med because a usual face of the lineup is actually going on the injured list. Miguel Rojas a couple of days ago left the game with four arm tightness. They were really hoping that he was only going to be down two days and then get back in the lineup today, but he ended up getting some imaging It showed at a flexer strain, so they need to give him some
time to heal, so they're placing him on the il. That of course means a massive question mark for who was going to be the shortstop for the Dodgers, so they acquired Nick on Med. He was dfa'ed earlier this month, actually from the Giants, who of course he's going to be playing with
his return now to the rival the Dodgers. Obviously a lot of familiarity, whether it's been playing against the Dodgers for the Giants or are playing with the Giants who he's going to be playing against them today, So it's definitely it's a welcome return for him to the big leagues. He's someone who he said, he's been staying in a good spot. He's now a veteran in this game, so he's been in Arizona kind of just staying hot. So he
feels like he's in a good spot. And Dave Roberts was saying that the plan for him, he's going to be the everyday shortstop for the Dodgers now moving forward until Miguel Rojas as well as Mookie Bets, until they're healthy and they can return. He is gonna give him some off days here and there just to kind of manage him, and then when he does do that,
then Kei k Hernandez will be stepping in as the shortstop. But this was a move to they they're optimistic that guys are getting healthy and returning, but it is a solution for until then, until Mookie Bets also returns. What's the lightness on Mookie in that hand? Yeah, it's getting stronger. He's been taking grounders out here, he was running the base pass so's he's staying in shape and staying taking part in baseball activity. He's now taken some swings.
It's all soft toss or off the tee things like that. No velocity just yet, because the biggest thing is he has to continue to build that strength in his hand. As much as it's healing, it's not ready to go just yet. So these have been just really good steps in the right direction. But he feels good. He's found different ways to stay engaged and stay ready because he knows that when he returns, it's go time. You know it's going to be late August September baseball, then as soon as you
know, it's October baseball. So he's staying ready to get back. And obviously he's got to be ready to shortstop position as well as well as second base because whatever the team needs for him when he returns, that's what's going to be asked of him. Another Dodger coming back tonight, and Tyler Glass now, but we've run out of time cures, so we will check back in with you after this game tonight Dodger fans and handsherre listening experience by downloading
the iHeartRadio app and listening in HD. It's all powered by la Care Health Plan serving all Angelinos. Lacare dot Org. Still to come here on Dodgers on Deco. Done deep into this pitching matchup. David Vassi goes one on one with Billy Gasparino, the Dodgers vice president of amateur Scouting. As the
draft wrapped up last week. We'll get you an injury report and we'll hear next from the manager Dave Roberts himself to leads you up to Dodgers and Giants on Key k Hernandez Bobblehead Night, first pitch from Dodgers Stadium at seven ten. I'm Tim Kasi's Los Angeles Dodgers audio number. This is Morongo Casino Dodgers Hunting on your home for La Dodgers Baseball. Marongo Casino Dodgers on decontinues as we lead up to first pitch on this Wednesday night, Dodgers and Giants,
Morongo Casino Resort and Spy Grand Slam for good times. Tyler Glass now Robbie Ray. The pitching match up, First pitch set for seven ten. This is the La Dodgers Injury Report, presented by UCLA Healthy, official medical partner of the Los Angeles Chres. Miguel Rojas goes on the iel with the right forearm tightness, Dodger signing Nick Ahmed, the veteran shortstop who is in the
lineup tonight for the Dodgers. More on that from Dave Robertson. Just a couple of seconds here, Rookie Betts on the ielt, the fraction of left hand, Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the eel to strain rotator craft, Walker Bueller on the iel to sore a hip. Michael Grove on a rehab assignment, as is Bruce Dark Gretel and Ryan Brazier. Clayton Kershaw schedule to make his twenty twenty four debut tomorrow in this series finale. All right, let's have back
out to Dodger Stadium. Find out more from the Dodger skipper. Questions for Dave, Dave, can you just describe Dave? Can you talk about the pressure in the dugouts with Dave roberts All? Hi, Dave, lots of news today, So we'll see. We'll start with Nick Ahmed. What does he bring to the team and what is the role that you're kind of expecting for him? Just moving forward? Well, Nick brings uh obviously gold glove defense. That shortstop. There's there's a grit, a toughness, a compete.
He's a veteran ballplayer, familiar with certainly the National League West, the National League, and I just like the grind and the toughness. So I think it's gonna be. I think he'll meld really well with our ball club. Certainly planned against our guys for so long, there's familiarity and just a consistency. So for me, he's gonna lock down shortstop and there's certain days
that I'll give him, give him a day here there. But you know, the plan is while Miggie's down and we just don't know how long that's gonna be with that farm, you know, he's gonna play some short and then obviously we'll mix Keiky in there as well. And then with Miguel Rojas going on the il you guys were optimistic that this wasn't going to be the case. What I guess shifted that it now needs an il Ston. He he had a scan and it came up that there was a flexure strain,
and so that's something where I don't know the timetable. Some of it could be kind of how he's feeling. As I understand it, he's going to take a few handful of days to kind of non baseball activity, to let it subside and then get him back, and then you know, get him back hopefully as soon as possible. All Right, there's Dave Roberts down the dugout, brought to you by Service Titan. Dave Roberts a tightening to his own right. He's got a plan before his team hits the field. You

We'll check back in with David Vase. You lead you out the first pitch. Dodgers and Giants, Tim Cases, Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network. This is Marongo Casino, Dodgers on Deck on your home for the Blue all season law Dodgers and Giants on this Wednesday night. Tyler glasnow
Robbie Ray. That matchup series will wrap up tomorrow at a one o'clock first pitch tonight though, first pitch coming up at sevent ten. Joining Tim Kats on Dodgers on Deck, I accept everybody for who they are. This is Dodger insider David basse Well. Last night, Nick on Men was at home, didn't know if he had a future in baseball anymore, and here he is a Dodger now, David twenty four hours later. Yeah, the Dodgers
certainly needed Nick Onmed. This is really good timing on both fronts. Unfortunately, Miguel Rojas's right arm has not responded and the Dodgers need an infielder, and Nick on Med was released by the Giants on July thirteenth and was available, and as known, the NL west really well playing for the Diamondbacks and Giants. And when we saw him come out of the Dodger clubhouse and in the dugouts, I took a double take. I said, wait a minute,
that's Nick Onmed wearing Dodger blue. And we caught up with him after he did some infield work with Dino Ebol. All right, Nick, how did this all come together? Pretty quickly? Got to call it late last night and greeted terms pretty quickly and decided to come. And pretty obvious choice. Just playing against these guys for a long time and knowing the opportunity to compete and win a championship is something I wanted to send up for when you
come to a team and you're thrust into the lineup already so quickly. How is that easier? Is that more challenging? I mean, the baseball parts are familiar part, it's just meeting the new people and getting used to the new environment is the tough part. So once a game starts, it all all be normal. I'm excited to play tonight and excited to get a win tonight too. When they asked you about signing here, did they kind of explain this as a long term situation a short term situation. Yeah, we
didn't talk too much about that. You know, obviously things changed all the time, and you know, I'm just here going to focus one day at a time and try to help us win games. Nick on Met thirty four years old, played fifty two games with the San Francisco Giants before being released. He's not known for as bad at this point in time in his career. He hit two two this year with the Giants, But certainly he serves a purpose a sure handed defender at shortstop, and he replaces a sure handed
defender at shortstop right now. David is driven by Ford. If there's one thing we like, his choice is fine, yours at the Ford f one fifty gas hybrid or electric tough and smart. That can only mean the Ford F one fifty Walker Bueller. David is back from his floor to get away. Yeah, the sabbatical's over. We saw Walker Buehler out here when the Dodgers got back from the All Star break, and he seems to be in
a much better place, not only physically but mentally. And remember he went on the IA with a hip issue, and that was part of his thought process to kind of get away from things and be able to not only get his hip right, but also his pitching mechanics right. Was that from that? I don't know, you know, but I did have a strain in kind of the growing hip until uh that's important to pictures. So yeah,
you know, I feel better now. I feel a lot more encouraged in terms of, at least mentally that the knowledge of the delivery and seemingly the misses and the bullpen have been It's not taking me three or four to figure out why I miss up all there. It's kind of more like it used to be. And so yeah, I think that's encouraging. That was unique to do what you did. Did you feel like it benefited you and you got what you wanted out of it. Yeah, I think it was I
think it was beneficial. I think it kind of figured out kind of a roadmap or like a stairstep to getting back to where I want to be. But you know, I'm not the first you got to do that. I think maybe I'm one of the more open people about doing it. But we've had members of this team to do that before, and so hopefully it works
out a little better for myself than it did. But yeah, I mean, I'm encouraged by it, and I think it's a big testament to kind of the relationship that that we have between myself and the front office and the coaching staff that we can kind of trust each other to do something like that, and you know, I hope that what comes out of it, you
know, is beneficial for all of us. Walker Buehler is getting closer to making another start for the Dodgers, but first tim, he told me that he is going to make a rehab start on Friday for Oklahoma City and from there maybe you return to the Dodgers major league rotation. We shall see. Thank you David coming up here on Moroco because you know, Dodgers on deck well, here from Billy Gasparino, the vice president of amateur scouting for the
Dodgers. Following the draft last week. But up next, you're Dodgers' Magical Moment Dodgers Giants first pitch of seven ten of Tim Kas's Los Angeles Dodgers at the Dower. Rick Monday will rejoin us on the upcoming road trip in Houston, but again Jose Mota alongside Steven Nelson tonight, and we do have a new starting shortstop Jose Mota, and that is Nick Ahmed, who is luckily for the Dodgers, was available at Miguel Rojas going on the IL.
How about that SAT news about Miguel Rojas, because we knew when I saw him catching ground balls yesterday and he's not making any throws and then the coovery hut in his forearm and tossing the ball gingerly to the infil us that this does not look good and you saw it too, But now you find a guy has one gold globes and his job is one thing, catch the baseball, fit into the infield flow, and then on top of that, in the bottom of the other play the small ball. Because you've done it before,
you know what it's all about. I'm sure that Nick Ahma has in mind the fact that last season he was a staple in Arizona, right, but he was not what happened when they were doing later in the season. So I'm glad they got him because just July tenth, he got let go about the Giants and gives who's playing Tonight's against the Giants and his former teammate Robbie Ray. He's going up against Robbie Ray. How about that? About
that too? He knows a thing or two maybe about Robbie Ray, who's becoming obviously after a long layoff over fourn in twenty days or so, but the teal that allows that he plays out today. Robbie Ray is a guy that made actually ten ninth starts on rehab, ten total games, which I love. They took him easy, they spread him out. The last couple of starts. He's been punching people out, which he takes a lot of pride in. And hopefully he'll come today and find a Dodgers seem to also
love that fastball, all right. Going back to Nick on Med, he was out here early taking ground balls with Dinu Ebol. They were going over a few different things because he was just signed last night. And then Bob garn brought out the entire pitching staff to go over pickoff moves for Nick on Med at second base. Where the pitcher's resentful in the situation like that, or they appreciate, uh, you know, the work. It felt like,
uh, I don't know. Not everybody was too excited to be out there at one hundred degree heat for one new player that who knows how long he's gonna be here for. You're so observant, man, I've been around salty baseball players a long time. Hose. Here's what we know. It was their day to do it. It happens to be a day when Nick Ahmed shows up, right, But when somebody comes in like this, it's a less simpler now to show him the the you know, the realms are
what's happening in the organization. Before it was to be like okay, first and third, here's the sign bunch signed and discoverage and the wheel player, all those things disappear. Now on basement's pretty much go out there and if you see daylight, put your hand out. That's pretty much it. Now there's a combined sign between the catcher Ahmed and the picture. Then he needs to be aware. Sometimes, say you put a play on a second base
and you tell your catcher you do three pumps. When you put on the five, is the last pump you go? In? Other words, you time it up with him. So things like that happen less now than the easters. I was a little surprised we didn't see more of Gavin Lux and nick Onhmed working as the double play combo. I felt like that should have been more of a focus than doing stuff with the pitchers. I'm not sure
the pitchers can do their pff David, Yeah, let's costly. Sometimes they were going through the motions Jose. Oh, they can't do that during the game because the pressure's on. Man. You gotta play catch, even at thirty feet, you got to play catch. Yeah, and sometimes throwing a thirty feet is harder than throwing a six, no doubt. We've seen that. We throw ninety five right, Yeah, yeah, thanks, Jose, you got it. We'll catch up. But you and Steven Nelson a little
bit later. Hey, you want to give us your call tonight? Right? Who are you calling? I'm the PA. All right, there we go, Andy Pater has Tim Kates lock in. This this high and tugged the Dodgers and Giants getting set for first page. And I'm joined right now with a man that headed the Dodgers amateur draft over the All Star break. He's been doing it for Andrew Friedman ever since twenty fifteen. He's the director
of Amateur Scouting, the one and only great Italian American Billy Gasparino. Billy, thanks a lot for the time, Appreciate it. I love the intro, perfect perfect. No glad to be here and glad to always talk draft. Yeah, you still look very grizzled from the draft war room. When was the last time you saw your family? Well, I got a good weekend with him now, but it is it's a long road to recovery. I start now, and I hope I'm I'm a home ready for the playoffs.
That's always a goal. This is something new that I feel like still sneaks up on all of us, that the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft now is held during All Star Week? Is that different? Challenging? How do you feel about that? I don't love it, but I've grown to accept it. There's definitely some pros to it, but I think that most part
is just it's a little too late in the year. I think we like lose development time with some of these players and which is so valuable, and I think it just kind of like it starts some morph into the trade deadline and it just never feels like you get a break. So there's there's more comms and pros, but MLB says to do it, So we do it. And where did you hold the draft? Where did you make the phone calls to Texas? We did the downstairs in the Dodgers Stadium club. It
was a nice little venue. We we had it all seated up and TechEd out and and it worked perfect for us. Obviously you picked these players because you like what their potential may be. Is there any player that we should remember? Obviously you picked a shortstop with the number one overall pick the Dodgers had. Yeah, I mean we you know how it goes. We like all the players we took, Obviously we did. We went a little more upside this year. We went high school shortstop with our first pick and then
high school third basement with our third round pick. So those are two exciting players, huge talents, huge potential, and really a lot of work to be done. But we trust our player development and we were excited to turn those two over maybe for the fan base or fourth under Jacob Right, just because he's a cal poly kid, a local East LA kid, we're excited about him. We think he's like a talented lefty, four pitches, a
really good breaking ball, and a really good competitor. So I think Jacob Bright's probably maybe a guy for the fans to remember and to look out for. Kellen Lindsey shortstop, high school shortstop. I did some homework. It seemed like the mock drafts were picking you guys to take this young man. What intrigued you and what told you that he has a chance. Yeah, the mock drafts are kind of right this year. They we got to only do that for the NBA Billy. No, we did. We liked him
all year. I think I think we felt fortunate. You. No, he didn't play last summer because he broke his phibia and so the scouting community was a little late getting to him, and we just felt like, A, he's a great athlete. B some of the rawness to his game. We really thought we was a good thing we could develop and he could really push shortstop. I think his defense is a little underrated, and he's in He's a top of the scale runner for us. So that was kind of
where the trade turner comps came. It's not kind of like athlete runner exciting package. What is it about high school players that may or may not separate them from a college player Because I've heard if you're a pitcher, it's better to be drafted, if you're a position player, it's better to go to college. How do you weigh all that when you pick a guy like Kellen Lindsay who obviously hasn't grown completely into his body. Yeah, it's hard.
I mean a lot of it is. You know, risk versus reward and the college guys a little more established and trying to figure out how they can what development's left or how much more of their potentials left to get him to be, you know, a high end major league player, because that's what it takes to be on our roster. Let's be honest, We got it like a high borrower of talent. It takes a lot of It takes a
lot of talent and work to just play on our team. And so we're really conscious of that, and so we've leaned a little bit more towards some more talented guy lately. And we trust our player develpment group. We really think they usually get the most out of these guys and maximize their talent, and it kind of has led us to these high school kids lately. Billy
Gasprino, the Dodgers director of amateur Scouting, is our guest. When you look at what the Dodgers major league roster looks like, when you look at the wealth of pitching the organization has. Does Andrew Friedman give you any direction on where he wants you to pick or position he wants you to pick,
or is that mutually exclusive? Good question, you know Andrew is good, but I think he understands the draft very well and so he definitely like is like, hey, go get the right players, or go pick the best players. But I think he has urged us likely to be aggressive, and I think part of that is like our pitching depth, our depth in the minor leagues. You know, we really feel like prospects say ten through forty is really high quality, and go be more aggressive and don't feel like you
can't make a mistake. And that's comforty knowing this, like our situation here allows us to do that, and he gives us confidence. And so what we did no doubt. Hey, Billy, before I let you go, there's a lot of the draft picks that you were able to select that have made it to the major leagues and made their major league debuts even this season. How emotionally connected are you to these players? Secretly? Probably pretty emotionally
connected. You know. I think you try to stay usual and I'm biased, but you just have You've seen where they come from and where they are now, and it's just a really special moment just to make it here. And just even like one pitch one a bat is hard enough and you realize how far they'd come and how hard they work, and so it's more like proud Dad than anything else. Yeah. Well, you're a great guy.
The Dodgers are lucky to have you. You've been able to provide the organization with a lot of good young talent, and I'm sure it will continue twenty twenty four and beyond. Thanks a lot for the time, and congratulations on getting through another draft. Thanks David, always special talking to you. I love it. Great Italian American Billy Gasparino. Robbie radyed a thirty two year old left hander on the mound for the Giants, making his twenty twenty four debut after having Tommy John surgery last May. He was acquired in an offseason deal with the Mariners. He's made ten rehab appearances in the minor leagues, most recently five and a third score listenings, one hit, seven strikeouts in Triple A. He's a fastball, slider, sinker pitcher. The Dodgers have faced him a lot. In fact, he's
made twenty one starts against the Dodgers in his career. Remember, he pitched a long time in Arizona with the Diamondbacks, and they're facing him for the first time, though in forty years it's been a while since they've seen him. Eight and six with a three thirty nine r ray at Dodgers Stadium, ten career starts, six and four to twenty one a er ray. Tyler
Glass now on the mountain. Good to see him back out there, thirty year old right hander coming off the IL where he had back tightness and missed the All Star Game, where he was an All Star selection. In his ninth season out of the big leagues, his first with the Dodgers, Sin's coming over from Tampa eight and five with a three forty seven r ray, making his nineteenth start this year. Again, he's been really good going into the All Star break. As we mentioned, so good he was an All
Star selection for the National League, although he didn't pitch. Is in his third in the majors. Right now in whip third in the Major leagues and batting average against team sitting just one eighty three against him in fifth in Baseball in strikeouts with one hundred and forty three. In his most recent start before the IL stent July fifth, six intings, five runs, two hits, seven strikeouts and a no decision versus the Brewers. He's facing the Giants for
the third time this season. Yes, one to zero with an eight R Ray Tyler Glass now rob A couple of veterans going at it. Dodgers Giants. Dodgers winners of five in a row since the All Star break. All right, before first pitch ted back out to the booth, Stephen Nelson, Jose Mota, guys, All right, Tim, well, yeah, but you one last time.
Jose mot of the Dodgers are the only team in baseball that haven't lost a game out of the All Star Break. Well thanks to the rookies, right five strong. Four rookies have done a fantastic job throwing strikes, keeping you in the game and allowing the offense to even after some slow starts with the bad first four or five innings at leaves they are catching up but not looking up four or five runs down. So give it to the youngsters,
not afraid of filling his own and also incorporating great secondary pitches. And on top of all of this is they're not rushing through the bathroom. They're using the clock so ideally because they're letting the clock die when they need to. But also they're spinning up some guys and that's part of the strategy that right now is missing in baseball where guys are not paying attention to that. But
it's been a key piece, especially with a guy like Gavin Stone. But I think the world guys are paying attention as a Dodger ball club, as a young pitchers because they've experienced it also in the minor leagues. So the Dodgers rolling out of the break and you see the counter getting close to August,
and we know what the Dodgers can do in August. But it is great to see them, especially after what happened before the break and how they limped into it, that they came out with emotions riding high and the ViBe's reset. What are your expectations for Tyler Glass now tonight? And it threw a sin game last Friday about fifty seven pitches, so you can't imagine he's going to go super deep into this game unless he's really efficient. What are
you expecting tonight from Glass? I expect him to go six innings and go ninety plus pitches. Remember Tyler Glass, now we look at his year with a double digit strikeouts, He's still been super economical even when he strikes a lot of people out. Because he throws a lot of strikes. I don't think the layoff was long enough to get him off the track when it comes out to pitch capacity or quantity. And I do expect him to say, this is what they signed me for, this is what I'm here for.
I got trailed here for this reason. I'm think who's going to take charge here? Last one, I want you to talk about signing up the Dodgers had to sign somebody new today and he's in the starting lineup. That's a former Giant, Nick Ahmed, the longtime Arizona Diamondback shortstop, and Meg Rojas put on the injured list by the Dodgers and Ahmed now added to the team. Goal glover, catch the ball, throw the ball, be a leader as he has done over in Arizona, and just put the ball in play.
That's all. Nothing else attend. You know what that means. If you're into a revenge series, maybe we see a revenge night for Nick Ahmed as he's starting at shortstop, batting ninth for the Dodgers against his old club. It's Tyler Glass now and Robbie Ray. It's Game three of the Dodgers and Giants that we look forward to. It all right. Padres already won
in Washington, DC. They made the Nationals twelve to three. Padres have won four in a row despite playing five hundred baseball over the last ten game. So the Dodgers currently as we speak, an eight game lead over the Padres. As far as the Arizona Diambacks are concerned, they are now right now losing in Kansas City four to three. That game, though still in
the seventh inning, So winn Todnight for the Dodgers. They maintain their eight and a half game lead over the Padres and possibly picking up a game on the Arizona Diamondbacks the Giants. They start the night thirteen gears back in the division. First pitch when we come back, Tyler Glass, now, welcome back from the IL. The All Star will take them out when we return.
