We got your Dodgers magical moment you're otani rewind shortly, we'll visit with Kirsten Watts from Sportsnet LA and in just a few minutes We'll check in with Steven Nelson and Jose Mota out the Galpin Motors broadcast booth. Well last night, a river ran through Dodgers Stadium as Tao provided all the offensive push. Last night, River Ryan made his major league

debut. The right hander we pitched into the sixth inning five and a third, one run, four hits, struck out two while throwing a season high seventy three pitches. He battled it out against the reigning Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell, who was equally as good, but the Dodgers were able to get to him. The Giants, though, scored first in the top half of the fourth inning. A pass ball from Will Smith, the ball that probably should have caught goes off of his catchers mid back to the backstop.

Matt Chapman scored from third and the Giants with an unearned run take a one nothing lead, But the Dodgers came back in the bottom half of the fourth inning. Tay Oscar Hernandez the guy, won the home run derby a week ago. He has started off the second half of the season on a roar. But Kansas City is the story bo say is there? Fifty six win of the year. That's as many as they had all of twenty twenty three.

As Hernandez lifts off to left field, he can watch it fly halfway up the pavilion, right next to the Dodger bullpen, and we are all tied up. Tay Oscar Hernandez with his twenty first home run of this season, and he was just getting going. As the Dodgers and Giants were all tied up at one. In the bottom half of the sixth inning, Taot delivered again and RBI single up the middle, scoring Freddie Freeman. As the Dodgers took a two to one lead, River Ryan would go five and a

third Indians, he'd leave and get a no decision. The Giants, though, would tie things up late in the seventh. Fitzgerald a home run to left center field off Ryan Yarborough, and the Giants came back to tie it at two. Then the bottom of the eighth, the Dodgers got something going runners on for Wow tay Oscar again, two balls, two strikes, two on two out, game tied at two. The pitch Hernandez with another base hit in the center field tail Timing again comes through in the clutch. The

Dodgers lead three to two. Tay Oscar Hernandez delivers again with an RBI single that's the top tier play of the game sponsored by Arco Quality top tier gas for less. He has three hits in the game last night, including a home run the Dodgers had six as a team. He drives in all three runs As the Dodgers hang on and beat the Giants last night three to two. Blake Trining gets the winning relief. Daniel Hudson comes in, strikes out two and the ninth inning to pick up his seventh save of this season.

River Ryan and no decision put pitch Well into the sixth inning in his major league debut. Dodgers have now won four in a row since the All Star Break. Tasker Hernandez in these four games, betting four to twelve, He's seven for seventy in ops over twelve hundred, two home runs, two doubles, and five ribbis. Tay Oscar Hernandez is off to a great start post

All Star Games. The Dodgers get the win, improve to sixty and forty one, and tonight it's game two of this four games set against San Francisco as the home stand continues. Landing neck on the mound first pitch of seven ten and with more, let's head out to the Galpin Motors broadcast both as we say hello and welcome in Steven Nelson and Jose Mota. Guys, thank you Tim. With Jose Mota, we're not sure about you. I'm not sure about anybody else out there. I got enough gray hairs as it is.

Jose. The radio listeners can't see that. You just take my word for it. The Dodgers aren't helping things of late. Six of their last seven games have been decided in the eighth inning or later. So you want to be a good big league player, well, the tests are gonna come more when things are tight, when you really you have to go out there and show your ability to slow the game down. You won the ball hit to you on the defensive side. You want to be the guy in the

batters box when the game's on the line. And then as a pitcher, you want to have the ability to have the mentality to say I want the big spot and I'm gonna make that great pace. So you know what, if you don't enjoy it, I am. I know you are, yeah, but you know what the best thing is we can talk about it, laugh about it because they're winning ball games, and I think you're leading the way you talked about that, Jose led me perfectly to the man of the

night in game one. Who was the player of the game was the Taoscar Hernandez show. The Tao show. Three of the six hits, drove in all three runs in the game, caught the last out, and proving again that he wants to be that guy. Where's that heartbeat? It just doesn't get to spit up at all. He goes three for four, rest of the team goes three for twenty five, and again mentality and separation to Oscar has the knack. I will say to say I want the game on the

line, and also understand something else. He told me this in spring train, and he goes, when I look at this lineup, I know that I'm going to get a lot of opportunities because if I look one through five, if I'm paid him six, there's gonna be plenty of Chenzis. We met on bass now he wasn't talking about scoring position, but he goes, as a slugging team, you have to be able to think as I do.

Once you reach first base, Steven, you aren't scoring position, and was more particular to me as of late as the adjustment seams made on making contact and sacrificing perhaps a little bit of power, which really he hasn't, but the ability to just say, I'm a small ball player right now, if I put the ball in play, it's going to be beneficials of my team. And there it is. And he talked about how the derby has helped his swing. You you talked about one Soda always said it fixed his

swing at Dodger Stadium a couple of years ago. Well, tasker Hernandez, it has helped his swing, added some natural loft, not intentional, just naturally and out of the break he's now seven for seventeen. And I'm glad that you brought it up because we the Dodgers signed to Oskar Hernandez as a slugger. Fans know him in the past for being a slugger thirty and one hundred. But as we saw last night, not trying to hit it out to left field halfway up the bill Villian as he did last night, but

do that every time he's up there, take it up the middle. Know the situation went two outs. So he has been a complete offensive player. And when that Dave Roberts just told the media he was not he did not think that they were going to get this type of guy here in his first year as a Dodger. He has been that guy. And I don't know if you caught it. Tim a word that Jose Mota used in that description of Tioscar Hernandez, he said, nack nack, fitting as we have Land

and Nack starting tonight for the Dodgers. When we come back to the booth, we'll talk about his most recent outing and what to expect for the Giants against Jordan Hicks. All right, thank you guys, as we count you down to first pitch. Dodger fans, Yeah, get your game day meal on a Shaky's Pizza parlor, one of your Shanky's PiZZ said Shicken and Mojo's right now at Shaky's dot Com. Dodgers with four come from behind wins to

start their post All Star Break second half of this season. All four wins for the Dodgers, who are now sixty and forty one overall and an eight and a half game lead in the division going into play tonight. Coming up here before first pitch on Morongo Casino Dodgers on Deck. We're gonna hear from the manager, Dave Roberts. We'll check in with David vest Say, we'll dive deeper to this pitching matchup. What up next to your Otani rewind and

we'll visit with Kirsten Watson. It's a Dodgers and Giants on this warm Tuesday night here in southern California. Thanks for being with us. I'm Tim Kasis, Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network is Loronzo Casino Dodgers on the Dodgers on Deck. Y'all on the official home of La Dodgers Baseball. It's the Dodgers and the Giants, Game two of the four games series, landing neck Jordan Hicks pitching matchup tonight, the first pitch set four seven ten. This is the

Otani rewhy Well. The Dodgers got the three to two win over the Giants last night. It was the tay Oscars Show, going three for four, driving all three runs in for the Dodgers, who only had six hits as a team, three of which came from tay Oscar showo Tani last night zero for three at the play diget on base with the walk, now hitting three thirteen on the season with a four hundred on base percentage. Just so Tani

rewind. Brought to you by Eto Wins oil Ocha, Japan's number one green tea, the tea that showy Otani loves and drinks available at local diso stores, Amazon and eto win dot Com. That's it, O E N dot Com. This is Kirston's Corner with Kirston Watson Hey Keirson Down joins this before game two of this four game series. Dodgers on a little bit of a roll of getting too that in a second One of the big reasons why tay Oscar Hernandez Karsten continues to produce. Yeah, he's been lights out. He

is. He's that guy who he walks up to the plate. He wants to be the guy who's going to put this team, whether it's in a position to come back and win, to get the win like he just wants to be the guy to step up to give his teammates an opportunity to take home the w. And so yesterday single handedly pretty much scored the runs he was getting. He was just so efficient on the bases and at the plate.

And so he is someone but talking to him, you know, obviously he just won the home runner we and there are a lot of ideas that, oh, you take part in the derby, it messes up your swing, you overswing things like that, and he was like, I don't know about all that made my swing better, got me right where he wants to be. So he's trying to put the ball in the air. He felt that in the first half of the season he wasn't really getting the extra base

hits that he likes to. So by being able to just kind of move the ball forward, like Dave likes to say, and kind of put it in the air, he's been getting those results and finding that consistency. So he feels really good at the plate, and it's just a matter of you know, yeah, you stick to your approach, but when you get into big positions in which you can help this team. He wants to be that guy, and he's shown that he is that guy, no doubt about it.

Guys like Keiki, Hernandez have been big in these four games for the Dodgers post the All Star Break. Collectively, this Dodgers team playing a lot better than they were pre All Star Break. Yeah, going into the All Star break, you know, and that was a tough week, whether it was getting swept in Philly, you know, losing two of three against the Tigers in Detroit, and just how they lost that final game in Detroit.

It was almost it was like they had it and then all of a sudden, literally someone pulled the rug from underneath them, and you just kind of saw it fall apart right there, and it was, you know, you don't often see a lot of frustration coming out of these guys, but in that clubhouse, you not only could you hear it and feel it, but like the guys, and I think that was really important, I should say, for everyone to kind of express that frustration, because then they went into

the break. Some guys went to the All Star Game. Other guys got to just go home, do with family and take a breather. And then it allowed for them to come back and get back on track right where they wanted to be. And they've come out at the break high. Look. And even when I was talking to Will Smith today and he was saying what he appreciates what these last four games, these have been tough games. It's

not like they've just kind of blown them out ten to two. Or whatever the case may be, against the Red Sox coming from behind to get wins. Yesterday it was a tight game. So there these have been situations in which they're proving not only to themselves that you know, this is the team. They're starting to get more reinforcements back, Clayton Kershaw, Tyler Glassana is

coming back, the bullpen's continuing to get stronger. So it's just it's been a shift in a mindset and so they just they're in such a better position right now, and honestly, they might have needed just that little like, all right, we got to settle back in and we know how good we are. Let's get back to it. And so we're seeing this team do just that, no doubt about it. Cairston, we appreciate well. Check out with you after the game. We'll dive deeper into this pitching matchup. David Va saying goes one on one with Gavin Lutx. But up next we'll get you an injury report and we'll hear from the manager Dave Roberts. It's the Dodgers and Giants on this Tuesday night, Kates, and this is Los Angeles Dodgers Audio

Network. This is Morongo Cassino Dodgers Hunt game on your home for LA Dodgers Baseball. Brongo Casino Dodgers on Deck continues on this Tuesday night as he leads up to first pinch from Dodger Stadium, Dodgers and the Giants, Morongo Casino Resort and spy a Grand Slam. Four good times, landing neck Jordan Hicks the pinching matchup first pitch coming up at sevent ten. He's the LA Dodgers Injury Report president of by UCLA Healthy Official medical partner the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Dodgers Slowly starting to get guys back. Tyler glasst now will be back tomorrow. Mookie Bett's still on the ieltafraction left Tan Yoshino Yamamoto on the IOUL at the strained rotator cuff. Walker viuelers with the team and working his way back, throwing a bullpen session more on that coming up. Michael Grove on a rehab assignment with the lat soreness, Max Munsey still quite a ways away. Clayton Kershaw schedule make his season debut coming up on Thursday in the series finale.

All right, let's head back out to Dodger Statum and check in with the Dodger Skipper. Questions for Dave Dave, can you just describe Dave? Can you talk about the pressure in the dugouts with Dave Robberts. I think the thing with Landon is, uh, you know, certainly there's pitch ability, there's a four pitch mix in there with with really good command. And the challenge for him has always been that he eases into the game and you try to feel your way into it, save energy, whatever it is.

And so what he's done so well this year is from pitch one to go out there aggressive and not hold anything back. And so you know where he's at right now. I feel he's got a good base that he can hold his stuff into this and like I said yesterday, you know, get through twenty two, twenty three, twenty four hitters. How that plays out tonight, No one has any idea, but I do feel that, you know, we've kind of put him in a position now that I think he can

take that next step. Now it's up Tim to go out there and perform. How valuable just have these young arms beIN that's a Blaine and obviously we know that it's veteran's coming back in the next two games, which is for them to kind of hold their own and indeed such a have an impact. I guess the right is it's been great. It's one it's been one of the big joys for me watching these young pitchers develop, learn on the fly, you know, with a club like ours, and so it's been a

lot of fun. And these guys are very mature. They watch, they use their eyes, they use their ears, they ask the right questions and you know, it's it's translating to performance. And so I think that, you know, in the short term, near term and in the long term, things are looking pretty good for us. Technically have a six man rotation right now. It's like kind of technically right now, but I don't think

we're trying to get too far ahead of it. Obviously, we've got landing going tonight, then we've got glass and then uh kursh so both those guys coming back, and then you've got Stone going on Friday, and then we'll kind of figure out where we're at there. You especially like a case my class howls and the other guys are gonna have to manage ending twice a little bit late. Doesn't make more sense to have a six man rotation the rest of the year, you get or can you kind of go with the same

way you have and and accomplish that. I think we can do what we've done. Uh, you know, I think that the six man A lot of it is predicated on the schedule. And when you have consecutive days ten thirteen days in a row, you know after this stretch we're gonna have some some off days coming. So it just then you start to kind of put yourself in a position by pitches in a position where they get too much rest.

All right, there's Dave Roberts down the dugout talking about his rotation with Glass now coming back and now Clayton Kershaw expensed to pitch on Thursday as well. Brought to you by Service Titan. Dave Roberts, he's a Titan in his zone, right, He's got a plan before his team hits the field. You need one for your growing contracting business too. Let Service Titan help you implement it. on Dodgers on Deck. We'll check in with the David vat Say as we lead Jeff to first pitch on this Tuesday Night Dodgers and the Giants of Tim Kates's Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network. This is Marongo Casino, Dodgers on Deck on your home for the Blue all season long, leading you up to first

pitch Dodgers and Giants on this Tuesday night, landing neck Jordan Hicks. The pitching matchup series and homestand will wrap up on Thursday Tomorrow night kek her name is Bobblehead and night, let's check in with David said, joining Tim Kates on Dodgers on Deck, I accept everybody for who they are. This is Dodger inside there. David said, all right, David, it's been a

while since we've heard or seen Walker Bueller. What's going on? Well, he threw a bullpen session today and I was talking to Andrew Friedman earlier and he said his stuff is outstanding. He just has to learn how to be more of a pitcher and rely on that a lot more than what he did maybe before he had his second Tommy John surgery. So the Dodgers are very optimistic about him after going to Florida and resetting for about a month, that

he's coming back with a clearer head and a better pitcher. And I would expect Walker Buehler to be back pitching in a game within the next week because part of the layers of the Dodgers of cutting ties with James Paxton is because they're getting Tyler glass Now back tomorrow, Clayton Kershaw back on Thursday, and Walker Buehller shortly thereafter. So he's on the horizon, and him throwing a bullpen session today tells me that he is very close to pitching in a game.

David is driven by four. If there's one thing we like, it's choices. Find yours with the four F one to fifty gas hybrid or all electric tough This mark can only be called F one fifty. Next week is the trade deadline in baseball. David, how much do you think the next five to six days will determine who's selling at the deadline? Well, talking to a few GMS around the league today, Tim, they communicated to me that they believe the next five or six days is going to be vital for

teams to decide whether or not they are buyers or sellers. And quite honestly, there are a lot of eyes on Arlington, Texas and the Texas Rangers, who obviously are the defending World Series champions. They have had a lot of injuries to their position players. They have not gotten Jacob deGrom back, they were waiting for Max Scherzer, and right now they're under five hundred se having games back in the Wildcard race, four games back in a really poor

Al West and going into the All Star Break. I had heard that Chris Young their GM was still defiant in being a seller, but if they continue to go downwards here in the next five or six days, he may change his position. And former Dodger Nathan Evaldi certainly would be a very attractive starting pitcher, not only for the Dodgers, but maybe the Yankees as well. So Nathan Avaldi, who is a proven big game pitcher in October, would be very attractive. David, is there a certain NL Central team that is

maybe looking at some of the Dodgers down the farm. Yeah. I found out that the Chicago Cubs TIM are scouting this week all levels of the Dodgers' farm system. And you may say, well, who might they be wanting from the Dodgers, and who do the Dodgers want from the Cubs. It feels like it wouldn't be Cody Bellinger. Ian Happ is an interesting outfielder and

also infielder Nico Horner, who could play second base and shortstop. The Dodgers are not just looking for an outfield bat, maybe looking to add to their infield depth as well, So Nico Honer, Nico Horner, and Ian hat might be names that may interest the Dodgers. We'll find out the trade deadline one week away, David, we appreciate it. We will check in with you in just a little bit. Coming up here on Marongo because you know,

Rick Monday Well rejoin the Dodgers in Houston after the finale of this homestand on Thursday Jose Mota alongside

Steven Nelson. Tonight and Jose, the Dodgers are looking to make it five in a row and they might have a chance to make this a very long winning streak. I think it's great when you can go back there and say, well, they can base it all off how guys have started on the mound and how much the starters have to contributed. You know, the main

thing has been todated strike one and then leading to strike two. And the fact is that also when guys are falling behind, and I'm talking starters, they go back to finding a way that it's not necessarily a fastball to get back into counts. And I think it's a sign of maturity and a confidence and also the information they're getting from Mike Pryor and McGinnis is about, hey,

you're here, because he can control more than one pitch. Remember that, guys on Fastfool will sit you and they know very well and to me has been very impressive on the way at least they're getting into counts, getting back to evening counts, and also finishing off hitters. I've got a question for you. Last night River Ryan had two or three strikeouts, yet he was throwing ninety seven ninety eight. How does that add up when a pitcher's

throwing that hard and only has that amount of strikeouts. I think it relates to the Bobby Miller syndrome. Same thing too, guys can see the ball out of your hand, Well, you don't have that little extra zip to get beyond barrels either above or below. And then location two, you're gonna miss a lot of barrels. When you set up a hitter, say from the letters up to the shoulders. Now that fastball with the letters, when you elevate a little bit more, he says, there it is again,

and just two or three inches it's gonna happen. But also sequencing and setting up a hitter, remember there's something called speeding up a vet, which is when you throw the off speed right and you got you got a guy that saying I haven't, but you speed up this bet for a reason because you want to come back with a cheeese right with the fastball, and all those things are learned through the process. Same thing with the I mentioned Bobby Miller

because people wonder ninety nine, how is he not missing best this? It'll come with time, all right. At the Dodger bullpen, we saw peek into what Dave Roberts was thinking. Daniel Hudson comes in to the ninth inning last night. Obviously Evan Phillips is working through something. Jose, How difficult is it for a reliever that is counted on for big outs to be able to try to work through whatever pitching mechanics he's going through yet be available to

pitching games. It's hard, Dave, And I'll tell you that. You can plan it out. All you want is say, hey, I'm gonna get him high leverage situations. That's if the game calls for that. You don't know what the game's gonna call for later, when maybe you have a tight ball game in the tenth inning, you're like, he's my choice.

And it is a high leveraged situation, so you have to map it out in a way in which you're also the one to use him way too early to say I just wanted to get working because he still wanted our premier arms. Right, And then if you bury him too much, and the mentality is why may not being used in better situations though, right. So it's a delicate balance. But for the picture himself, it's a matter of saying,

what is it that I need to do. I'm not gonna take it personal when they use me, but I have to get better at something. So it's a delicate balance. You've gotta be careful of the emotions. But at the same time, no one explained to that person, Hey, this is why I'm doing it. I'm gonna just skip you. I want you to get some work in, but you gotta find the ability because I want to use you in those situations again, all right, jose Motive, before

we let you go. I talk to your dad almost every day and he always asks me who's my player tonight? And I try to pick a wide variety of players. Okay, but your dad, Manny Mota, the great Manny Mota. He always says show, Hey Otani. I say, come on, Manny, pick another game, pick another player. He goes with the easy one of them. Yeah, you say to one hundred and sixty two times. He's gotta be right a lot of times. Yeah, right, we can all pick Otani every night. It's like I said, yeah,

I have about Gavin Lucks tonight. Okay, Gavin looks I'll go because he was the player of the week. He goes, No, I like Gavin Lucks. Thanks. They always great to see your dad here every night. So all right, Tim, we'll send it back to you in the studio. All right, thanks a lot of guys. Dodgers Baseball is brought to you by Speedy Cash, official sponsor of every LA Weekend. Find the right doctor at CHLA dot org. Now, what will likely be vass a fielding insults from a Dodger

player. It's an engagement of endearment. This this high and tucked. All right, I'm here with the big sexy Gavin Lux, who is feeling sexy these days at the plate. Thanks a lot for the time, Appreciate it always for you, Dave. Oh yeah, it feels like sexy is another word for confident. You feel like the confidence is getting back and you're trusting what your legs can do for you. Yeah, I mean, for sure.

I think just you know, kind of going over the course of the year and more at bats, you get the kind of better you feel, and you start to figure stuff out in the game. Instead of you know, using the cage and trying to figure it out, you kind of actually figured it out in the game and try to figure out your feels whatever it is. So uh yeah, I think you know, the last price since

Philly, it's been pretty good. So just keep trying to ride the momentum and hopefully you can just keep carrying it on during the All Star breaks. Since you are the pride of Kenosha, Wisconsin, what'd you do? Take the boat out on Lake Michigan, you know, take the whole Lux family out there. No, I actually went back home where my house is now. I'm not gonna stay where in Wisconsin. But yeah, and I just had a cookout a bunch of my buddies, family, my fiance, Miley,

her family, her friends. So one of those nights that was good. And then I got to hit with my uncle, who has kind of been my hitting coach, you know, ever since I was a little kid, So that helped too. And then I think, you know, just getting a mental reset away from baseball for a couple of days always helps. How much custard was served at the luxe party, No custard, but a lot of a lot of beers, brots and burgers. Man, a lot of that. No no custard though, all right, since Milwaukee has known

for the brots. I actually learned my recipe from my in laws. They're from the same area that your family's from. They kind of taught me how to make the brots. Can you give us the lux family recipe on brotz? I don't think we have one. Man, We just go to the go to the store and get whatever we see. I don't know, my family doesn't know how to cook like that, so I just, you know, I go get them from the store and then throw them on the grill.

Now, I actually boil them with beer onions and then put them on the grill. Get that char that's fair. I mean, that's that's the true Wisconsin way. I can't I can't claim I do that. I'd be lying to you. Gavin lux is our guest. You talk about the mental reset. You guys come out of the break now winning four in a row. It feels like this team is starting to get their swagger back. Is that just coming with the wins or how you're winning these games? Uh?

You know, I think a little bit of both. Going into the break, obviously we lost a couple of tough ones that we probably you know, wish we had back. But I mean, baseball is just it's so up and down, and you know, I think even you know, people thought like, oh, it's the end of the world, and I look at the standings and we're still eight games up and you know, twenty wins over

five hundred, so it's never as bad as you think it is. And yeah, I think, you know, we gotta have a couple of good wins against the Red Sox where we came back and fought our ass off to to win those ones. And then even yesterday Tayo with three huge hits, and you know, just little things like that over the course of the year. Try to keep saying to like ride the wave, and I think you know, our team's doing that, and we're gonna get healthy at the right

time and then hopefully just keep rolling like that. Kevin Lux, that's what he's been doing, fighting his ass off every day. Yeah, and out here, you're out here every day since the beginning of spring training trying to get better. Can you describe the level of accountability you have for yourself and

your teammates have for each other. Yeah, I think you know, no one's harder on ourselves than we are internally as you know, individual players, So you know we as a team and I think you know, the work ethic is contagious. I mean, you look out on the field every day. Keyk's out of her early, Mooki's out of here early. Vargie and Pahes are out here, like everyone's out here early, getting getting stuff done. And you know, I think you look around the league and not every

team is like that. So I think just the work ethic is contagious, and I think we just kind of feed off that from each other, right Kevin, Thanks a lot for the time. Appreciate it. You're dripping sweat before first pitch. You got a game tonight, and look how much work you put in already Ready when every day, baby, when every day love it. Gavin Lux is winning the day. Thanks a lot for the time. And you know we're always rooting for you, always, my guy,

the big Sexy Gavin Lux. We'll send it back to you in the studio. Tim, all right, thank you, gentlemen. See your Toyota Dealers today, They

make it easy. Jordan Hicks on the mound four and six with a three seventy nine ERA, twenty seven year old right hand in his seventh season now in the big leagues, is first with the Giants, came up with the Cardinals. There was a sinker, a sweeper, and a split finger fastball. Making his twentieth start of the season. He's now transitioned from a relief pitcher into a traditional starter this year. He's made twenty seven career starts in

seven years, nineteen of which have come this year. Hicks has pitched five plus innings, or more than fourteen of his nineteen starts this year. Last time out before the All Star Break, four and third innings, five runs, eight hits. That was in a loss of the Blue Jays. He's making his tenth career appearance, third career start against the Dodgers tonight. He held the Dodgers to a two toh eight average over his career with twenty one

strikeouts. His first starts of the Dodgers this year came back on May thirteenth, where he allowed two earned runs on seven hits over five innings of work Landon Knack on the mound. For the Dodgers. He's one and two with a three twenty three ERA. Twenty seven year old rookie right hander second round pick in twenty twenty out of East Tennessee State, making his eight start,

ninth appearance here at the big league level. He tossed four to third innings in his last outing against Philadelphia before the All Star Break, giving him three earned runs, six hits and striking out five after entering the game as the bulk inning guy in the second inning. He's facing the Giants for the second time in his major league career. He last pitched against him on June twenty eighth at Oracle Park. He took the loss after allowing just one earned run

on five hits through four and two third innings. He struck out his season high seven batters in that game on seventy six pitches. So it's Landon Knack and Jordan Hicks the pitching matchup. Dodgers Giants were fifteen minutes away. First pitch. Keys to the game was Stephen and Jose are next. I'm Tim Kayson's Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network. As we were saying yes, is Marongo

first pitch, we head back out to the booth. Stephen Nelson, Jose Mota, guys, thank you TC. We know that everybody is looking forward to the next two days, Game three and four of this series of the Dodgers against the Giants, because it means the returns of Tyler Glass now and Clayton Kershaw, the season debut of the future first ballot Animus Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw. But we cannot overlook tonight's Game two starter Landon Neck Jose Mota.

This will be his eighth start, ninth appearance overall. The home run ball has bitten him through throughout this year. What are you looking forward to tonight? Out of the Dodgers right hand? When that lineup turns around second time, third time, I want him to show Dave Roberts and Mark Pryor that he still has stuff to get people out another time. So he has not pitch all that deeply. Ninety four pitches, Max, that was the second start of the Big leagues, and the reason is he faced the Giants

three starts ago. The outs were hard outs, and that's just an indication that your stuff is playing okay, and e've been fortunate, right. But he's got the stuff to number one, throw three pitches for strikes. Number two is he's got enough basketball to make second their pitches much better. But he's got to show once again that competition is good. Guess what he's got

to follow Gavin Stone, Justin Robleski. He's got to follow Paxson and River Ryan on what they've done on the first four games out of the break, because perhaps he wants to be a part of that too. I'm glad you brought up the link for Landonak. He's completed five innings in just four of his eight appearances so far this year. But it does sound like Dave Roberts and the Dodgers are more comfortable giving him that leash to go a little deeper.

They feel like his stuff can hold into the sixth inning. We'll see how the game plays out, of course, and we'll see what we get from Jordan Hicks. The Dodgers will face the converted reliever, long time cardinal Jordan Hicks. The Giants signed him and turn him into a starter, but this will be his last turn in the starting rotation for now, as they're going to push him back into the bullpen, probably be a piggyback, a bulk guy of sort the rest of the way. But this is a guy

we've seen with some electricity in the back end against Saint Louis. Now we'll see him as a starter for the Giants, big sinkerball, So he's catching up with those innings so right now, July has not been very good for him two seven point seventy and the Dodgers need to make him elevate the baseball all right, So game two for the Dodgers and Giants coming up shortly, trying to improve to two to zero in this final series against their arch rivals

from NorCal. All right, thank you, guys. Dodgers start the night sixty and forty one. An eight game lead now is the Padres have won. Padres playing on the East Coast, that game has gone final as they beat the Washington Nationals four to nothing. So a half game pickup by the Padres. Dodgers going into action tonight, an eight game leading the division over the Padres, nine games up in the Diamondbacks, twelve games up on the

Giants and the Rockies. Thanks for playing twenty three games back in the division. First pitch is next landon knack on the mound when we come back, enjoy the game. I'm Tim Kats' spin Moroco Casino Dodgers on deck on Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network
