James Packson on the mound. First pitch from Dodgers Stadium is coming up in a little over a bit of an hour, coming up here on Marrow on Goo Casino Dodgers on deck. We got a lot to get to before first pitch. We're gonna hear from the manager. Dave Roberts will dive deeper into this pitching matchup.
David vas Say, will check innis, He'll go of course, high and tight with Kenley Jansen, who was action yesterday for the Red Sox. We've got your Dodgers magical moment. We got an update on the Dodger injury report. Some guys going out on minor league rehab assignment, so that is good news for the Dodgers. And in just a few minutes we'll check in
with Tim Neverett and Jose Mota out the Galpam Motors Broadcast booth. Well, yesterday at the Ravine, the Dodgers were the comeback kids, coming back not once, not twice, but three times from a deficit to beat the Red Sox. Justin Robleski got the start. The twenty four year old rookie left hander pishwell four and third shutout inning to give hip just three hits while striking out five. The Dodgers gave Robleski a lead. Gavin Luxe a solo home
run in the second, his fourth of this season. The Dodgers grabbed a one nothing lead. The Dodgers led until the fifth, when Robleski was replaced by Johann Ramirez. He proceeded to give up the lead as the Red Sox got a two run double from Jaron Duran and the Red Sox took a two to one lead. However, that didn't last long. The sixth to Oscar Hernandez, an rbi scoring Otani that tied the game at two. Then Andy Pajis had a sack fly to give the Dodgers the lead three to two.
Dodgers lead, though, did last long. Tyler O'Neil hit a two run home run off Anthony Bonda, and the Red Sox jumped back out in front four to three. In the ninth, Dodgers down but not out, facing former reliever Kenley Jansen on in relief for the Red Sox to close it out for Boston. However, the comeback kids wouldn't have it any other way. I put you a little inside. Kelly might have got a call there too, too. Swin on belt at the left. This ball's back. It
has got a gay time home run kick Hernandez. That is four to four. Oh my goodness, what a belt in the upfield pavilion by Hernandez and here knights, this crowd, they are on their feet all around Dodgers Stadium. It's a bram New ball game. In the bottom of the ninth, solo home run for kik his six of the season. No better time than the bottom of the ninth that tied the game at four, so extra innings. They went in the top of the tenth O'Neil with the two run home
run off Evan Phillips, and the Red Sox led six to four. In the bottom of the tenth, the comeback kids at it again, Andy pot Has and RBI doublemated a six to five game. Then Keiky Hernandez again delivered, this time an RBI single in the game was tied at six, so so the eleventh they win. Red Sox failed to score in the top half of the inning. In the bottom of the eleventh, though, the Dodgers
walk them off. Both the outfielders very shallow Bray who is in right and dran Is in the left, two zero pitch swung out pasht Dodgers win, Dodgers win, Dodgers win. In eleven innings, will Smith comes up with his sixth career walk off hit and the Dodgers winning an extras seven to six. Will Smith, though walk off RBI single that's the top tier play of
the game sponsored by Arco Quality top tier gas for less. The Dodgers three different times and yesterday game come back tie the game, then they win it in the eleven back to back wins in late inning dramatics. With the win,
the Dodgers now fifty eight and forty one. They maintain their lead in the division and today they go for the sweep of the Boston Red Sox on Sunday Night Baseball, James Paxton on the mount first pitch, coming up at four to ten and with more head out to the Galpa Motors broadcast booth and say hello to Tim Neffritt head Jose Mota. Guys, thank you Tim.
Beautiful afternoon for baseball. This is the Sunday Night Baseball version as the Dodgers and the Red Sox will wrap up this series and it will be the only game going on in Major League Baseball at the time for national television. We got your local broadcast right here as the Dodgers try to sweep the Red Sox out of Los Angeles. They haven't swept a home series, by the way, since the beginning of May, and the Dodgers now have won six of
the last eight regular season games against Boston. Last night another come from behind win, the twenty third such victory. Of this season four Los Angeles seven to six in eleven innings. It was also the longest game of the year, three hours and thirty one minutes. The Red Sox begin to day fifty three and forty four, six and a half games out of first place. They're in third in the American League East, and right now they're on the
outside looking in of the wild card picture too. They're a half game behind Kansas City. As the Royals beat the White Sox again today, they're now in that third spot in the American League wildcard race as far as the Dodgers go, seven and a half games the lead over Arizona. Arizona walked off by the Cubs two to one a little earlier today, so the Dodgers pick up a half game for now. They can extend the lead to eight games with a win. Here. Fifty eight and forty one is the record Cutter
Crawford will pitch for Boston. He is six and seven, three to Ozho four the earned run average, James Paxton seven and two four thirty eight the earn run average for the Dodger left hander and Jose. When you talk about last night's game, it was pretty meaning full certainly for one guy. In a couple of ways, Kei k Hernandez came off the bench and did it
all. Tied the game twice, scored the game's winning run, and one other thing that people don't really pay attention to outside the game, he reached his ten year mark in service time, which guarantees him his full pension. Oh, that is huge in a celebration for Keik Hernandez. His family is around here. I talked to Keike after the game yesterday. It's quite an a compliment for a guy that we know came up as a guy that had
the scratching claw to get to the big leagues. I mean, since the minor leagues, Kik has to fight at least a good recognition to get, you know, put in the principal's office as a regular, you know, as a guy's going to play every day. And he's still fighting for that. So very happy for him. But main thing, you know, the main thing is he comes through again in a big way in a big moment for kikit there's no big moment. I mean he's kept his mind like this
since he got to the big leagues. There's talent disa's face, but you know, to do it against Kelly Jensen, to do it here with a team that really has been compling to score some runs. And you know, I talked to him today too, and I said, well, that home run is pretty impressive. About lone drove up the middle even better. That's what's going to keep you in line. That's what you need to do.
And I think I hope it gets to all point out tim where keyk Heron andz is pushing to be an everyday player somehow somewhere, because defensively he's behind nobody. Roster moved today, James out in an option back to triple A,
Jason Heyward activated and he's back in the lineup. Jason look good the times we've seen him here, and in fact, they stretch him out a little bit more with his base running, making sure that the issue with the back doesn't pop up that happened back in April, and certainly the one now when he jumped in Bruce's knee there it doesn't pop up again. But I think the way he moved was pretty impressive. He's a big athlete, big
guy, and it's a bad that they need. I mean, there's no doubt that Jason Heyward's going well, is now that you expect him to slug his way into you know, that number or top of the order. No, no, no, it's just his presence, his patience, and his leadership in that bottom of the utter may becomes very important. Well, if you've been watching the Dodgers over the last five games, you've seen him win three of them. But your heart rate has probably been elevated quite a bit.
This group of cardiac kids, they have seen these games. Last five games, there have been lead changes in the eighth inning or later to decide the game, and it looked like in the tenth inning the Dodgers were in deep trouble. When Tyler O'Neil hit a two run home run to make it six to four. They clawed their way back and then won at Neil eleven key things. Yet, bats got better, They really got little greedy and in gritty too, when it came down to just grinding out at bats and
going out there and performing four for thirteen men scoring position. Those big hits came later when they needed to, but as eventually, let's hope that they got it to a good start, because when they score first, no doubt, one of the best teams in baseball is forty two and eight. It's a Hall of Fame induction Sunday Special Day in Baseball. We'll talk about the inductees, including former Dodger Adrian Beltray during the course of the broadcast today Cutter

Big day yesterday for keyk Hernandez a home run an RBI single, helping the Dodgers come back multiple times, even in extra innings, and then come back and win the game in eleven by a final of seven to six. The Dodgers get the win thanks to Kei K who also get to the ten year mark. Kei Ky Hernandez with David Vesse, Key K, what a game for you? Late, Always ready,
always clutch. Yeah, obviously not starting the game. You gotta be ready for, uh, whenever your name gets called upun and my case is whenever left it comes in to face a couple of lefties. Uh, it was really really hard to see that first of at but then you know, the the the shadows went away, and there's no secret with what Kenley's gonna try and do to you. And uh, you know he gave he gave me a good first piece of hit. I swung through it, and then uh
made a good pace respect too. And then John, you know, stay on top of the ball and uh, you know, put the ball in play and I happened to catch the ball up front. And then after that, uh, the third of bat, it was you know a lot of a lot of self talk to to stay stay in the at bat, stay confident, you know, uh telling myself there's no better, nobody better in that situation. And uh, you know, I'm just happy that I came through. I haven't been able to come through for the team that much,
especially here at Dodge Stadium. And uh, definitely a great one. Feels like you had a lot of clarity, your mind was pretty clear today. Yeah, you know, it's a pretty special day obviously, it's it's hard to feel like it's a special game when you're playing regular season games. And uh, you know, my my I got my whole family in town, my wife and and my my parents and my sisters. Uh they we had a great morning. Uh you know, kind of appreciating what this, this
whole journey's been about. And I'm just really thankful that that I'm back here and that uh you know, it's it's it's crazy how the world works, but uh, you know, to be able to celebrate ten years of serve time at Dodger Stadium playing against the Red Sox, to the other team that I played at the most time my career, it's a pretty special one. And to be able to come through with the team twice like that, it's a start to point into words, Hey, we know that Key k Hernandez
really well, thanks for stopping and congratulations, Thank you, Dave. Keyk Hernandez, one of the good guys, gets to ten years of service time and yesterday drives into a couple of runs, a huge home run and back in the starting the line up again this afternoon against the Red Sox, playing at third base, Dodger fans at Hatcher listening experience by downloading the iHeartRadio app and listening in HD. This it's the LA Dodgers Injury Report, presented by UCLA Healthy, official medical partner of your Los Angeles Dodgers. Here's the good news. The Dodgers are starting to get a healthy We saw Joe Kelly come off the IL on Friday Today, good news. Jason Hayward comes off the IL from the bone bruise and his knees actually in the starting lineup in right field. James Outman gets option back to Triple A Oklahoma City. Tyler Glass now will come off
the IL in the next series against the Giants and get a start. Mookie Betts still rehab his fractured left hand. He is doing limited limited baseball activities. Yoshinobai Amimodo on the eye at the strain, Rode Tator Cuff, Walker Rueler on the iel at the sore him, Michael Grove on the Iowa sore lot. He is actually in Triple A, Oklahoma City, joining Bruce Dark Gratterol. They are there for rehabit signments. Both expected to pitch at some
point tonight, and of course Clayton Kershaw. The good news is he has checked out okay after his last rehabit signment in Oklahoma City, and he is scheduled to come off the I L in the series against San Francisco. Right, let's tip back, got to Dodger Stadium and checking out the Dodger Skipper. Anything else? The questions for Dave Dave? Can you just describe Dave? Can you talk about the pressure in the dugouts with Dave Roberts, Dave,
Why has James Texton been so good at the Dodger Stadium? The numbers of the splits home and road are really drastic. You know, I don't know that answer. I didn't know that. I know why he hasn't been good on the road, you know, or when he isn't good, it's you know, getting behind the walks. So you know, I guess with that he's probably working ahead better, you know, and finishing off guys. He probably likes the mound. That's probably another part of it, the familiarity
with it. But being a veteran guy, he's pitched all over all over the Big League, so I don't that's interesting. You know, hopefully that trend continues. When he struggled, has it been more because it's something mechanics or just bringing trying to be fine when he's talking about his stuff is what he needs to be, trying to find other ways to back. That's part
of that, I think. So I think it's a combo. I think, you know, understanding or kind of appreciating that his stuff isn't what it has been and being able to just blow guys away with the fastball, and then you start to get fine or nibble and then you kind of get deeper behind in count and you know that without then you don't want to give in,
and that's just kind of a cascading effect. As far as you know, you know base runners, you know each inning, so hopefully you know today it's it's an aggressive team and still got to find a way to get strike one though. All right, there's Dave Roberts down the dug out brought to you by Service Titan. Dave Roberts is a tighten in his own right, and he's got a plan before his team hits the field. You need one for your growing contracting business too. Let's Service Titan help you implement it.
Learn more of Service Titan dot Com. We continue here on Dodgers on Deck we'll check in with the damnit vas. Hey you get you an updated on Yoshinobu Yamamoto and the latest trade talk. Trade talk, my nummy trade talk. That's all coming up. Dodgers Red Sox Sunday Night Baseball. First pitch of four ten, I'm sim Cases Los Angeles Dodgers audio. Now, this is Marongo Casino, Dodgers on deck, on your home for the blue
all season law Dodgers in Red Sox. James Paxson, the big maple cutter Crawford go for the Red Sox. First pitch coming up before ten, joining Tim kats On Dodgers on deck. I accept everybody for who they are. This is Dodger inside there, David BASSI, all right, indeed, be I'm going to give you a name from the past, Bruce dark Graderol. I haven't said his name a lot this season because of injuries, but he's
trending in a good direction. Now. Yeah. I actually thought Tim that we would not see Bruce star graderol at all this year, But all of a sudden, since the Dodgers' last road trip, he has turned a corner for the better. And today he was sided in Oklahoma City with Michael Grove. Remember Michael Grove, he was a converted reliever and was a big part of the Dodger bullpen the first few months of the season before a lat injury. Michael Grove is ahead of schedule, or more ahead of schedule than Bruce
dar Graderol. Dave Robert liking Gradol's rehab in Oklahoma City to the beginning of the Cactus League if Gradarol was healthy, So there's a good chance we could see Graderol by September. But Michael Grove on the fast track to return.
But I mean, this is significant. The Dodgers have not had Brucetar Graderol all season long in their bullpen coming off a career year, and you know, he did not do a lot of throwing during the offseason and kind of put himself behind the eight ball for injury and spring training, and that's exactly what happens. So that's encouraging that he's going to be starting rehab games and after pitching in the Arizona League during the All Star break, he was at
Camel Back Ranch pitching to hitters in the Arizona League. So the shoulder has turned the corner for the better. There's certainly some great news. David's turned by four. If there's one thing we like, its choices, find yours with the four f one to fifty gas hybrid or all electric toughness mark can only be called F one fifty Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the injured list day, but
we've got a sighting. Yeah. We actually spoke to Yamamoto for the first time in over a month since he went on the IL with that shoulder injury, and he said the rehab process has not gone too slow for him. He's been in constant communication with the Dodgers' training staff. He was also asked whether or not he believes the increase in throwing sliders contributed to his injury, and he said he thought it was not just one thing that created the issue
with his shoulder, but a combination of different things. I felt like it was interesting that during Dave Roberts' pregame press conference he used the word if when referring to Yamamoto returning if he returns, and when I asked Yamamoto what his optimism level was to return this year, all he said through an interpreter was, quote, that's my so it still remains to be seen whether or not Yamamoto does pitch this season, well, whether he comes back or not.
David, the Dodgers could be active or may not be active at the trade deadline, which is only ten days away. Yeah, I'm starting to get indications Tim that being able to pry away a potential American League sy Young Award winner Trek Skoubel from the Tigers is not likely. It feels like Garrett Crochet definitely is a pitcher that could be moved. But another Tiger pitcher out of Harvard Westlake definitely has the possibility of being traded, and that is Jack Flarity.
His name is interesting because he has had a bounce back season. But also when I was at the Winter Meetings in Nashville this past December, there was a lot of buzz the Dodgers were maybe the runner up to the Tigers in signing Jack Flaherty, so they definitely have had interest in him going back to this past offseason. Interesting. Burbank's own Jack Flerney, will keep an
eye on that, Dave. He never mentions that. Yeah, but that's his roots though, you know, he claims Harvard to Wesley, but he's from all right, Dave coming up here on Morogo Casino Dodgers on Day. Well, you're here from Kentley Janssen. He claims the Dodgers roots coming up through the farm system, and certainly we'll go into the Hall of Fame hopefully as a Dodger. Today is the Hall of Fame Day Inductions in Cooperstown.

Dodgers broadcaster and World Series champion Dodger Rick Monday. Rick Monday is still on vacation. He will rejoin us when the Dodgers hit the road to Houston, San Diego and Oakland. But joining us again is Jose Mota, who's on the call today with Tim Neverett. And how about this Adrian Beltray not forgetting his roots, giving Manny Mota a shout out a longtime mentor and friend since he was a teenager. That was special. Those were a special you know.
Driving in here and listening to all these speeches was so beautiful, very emotional too, because I mean we're now at the age day where we all have a connection with every one of these players or characters. He with Jim Leland. But to see Adrian on stage, how well he represents obviously the country, our country, Dominican, the fans around baseball, Dodge organization, the Rangers organization. But to hear my dad's name was pretty special to Actually,
I'll give a little insight. He invited my dad to ceremony today and because the circumstances around my family, my dad couldn't come. But that was a big I mean, he did it a couple of months ago, say, Manny, I want you there. My Dad's like, I'm going to make every effort to be there, but unfortunately he couldn't be there, but it meant to love to listen to the name and the names he came up with him many people you know thought were pretty obscure too. Yeah, I
saw a photo of him and CAESARUS terrorists. Sean Green text me on Thursday that he was going out to Cooperstown and Alex Cora told us yesterday. Sean Green basically gave Beltrade the keys on how to be a better hitter because they used to compete with opposite field home runs. I'm sure your dad was behind the batting cage for those. I recall how many times out of spring train.
I missioned this to you a couple of days about finding the other side of the field for Adrian and as my dad projected him to become a steady Menior league player, Dave. He also said, here's the one thing you need to learn is that you're gonna have to learn to head a slider and to lay out the slider. He goes, a good slider, you're not gonna hit, but the hanging slidder you're gonna make a lot of money on. So let's start working on you getting jammed and you know, versus like
getting jam I mean, Manny, I don't want to get jammed. He goes, no, No, I want you to think about getting jammed so you can hit the slider better, so the ball travels a little bit more. And that's just part of the old school teaching, you know. I remember Mert Redman, who was my hitting coach in San Diego. One time he goes, I want you to hit the ball with the label. I'm like, I'm soft outs I go with the lay ball. He goes, I'm trying to teach you something says tell the ball and dragged the bat a
little bit more. But for Adrian that year he hit forty forty eight home run stave. I remember this. He was playing on a bump ankle and he was hobbling around the bases. Every time he had a whole rum. People were like, he's hot dogging, like national media, why is he hot dog? No, he could just couldn't run. And I recall him saying, because I had to land softer and made me a better hitter to
go the other way too. JSean, can you share with that. We always heard about Adrian Beltray and kind of the mishap in the Dominican Republic when he needed an appendectomy, and the Dodgers needed to rescue him out of the Dominican so he could get some professional medical care here in the States. Your
dad was at the center of doing that. Oh, my dad checked in with Belcher when he knew that something happened with his appendix, and he goes through the days that following he goes, so, how are you feeling, He gos Maney, I'm not feeling very well. My dad went to see him and he saw the condition he was in and his body in a bag of you know, fluids out of his body, and there was not looking
very clear. Let's put it that way. And my dad immediately called the Dodger said, listen, we need to get this kid out of here because something bad could happen. And no doubt, I mean the next day he was on a plane. But that was a connection he had with my dad and with so many people around there too. But you know, my dad will never take breadit for this, but who knows what could have happen to Aarram Beltrad. He stayed over there, but because he just did not want
to cause any problems thinking that way. But I'm glad it happened that way, he got rescued by the Dodgers, immediately got put on the plane, and then doctor Shore here at Sandela took care of him for the rest of History's made. Hall of Famer. Yeah right, the rest is history, Jose, thanks a lot for sharing that with Hall of Famer Adrian Beltrade. The Motive family not forgotten today in Cooper's Town. We'll send it back to you in the studio. Tim, all right, thanks a lot, guys.

No, I mean, for any guy on that team, if that have to happen, you know, glad it happened with KK. You know, I love KK, great teammate of mine, having them with the Dodgers and last year the Red Sox. So I mean it put a good swing at the ball and tip my cap to him, you know. And today's now today,
when you saw key K today, what's that feeling like? Same feeling? Just show him some love, man, you know, like I say, it's been a long teammate of mine and like you say, man, we play against each other now, but you know we do what we have to do during the game, but you know, on the sidelines, off the field, we'll just show each other love. Man. That's that's that's what
it is about. The one part that I love. It's not just seeing you with some of the staff, but some of your former teammates and the guy that you were teammates with longer than anybody. You saved more games for Kershaw than any other reliever in his career. What's it like to be back with him? I love cursh Man. Like I said, Man, I'll be, I'll be. I'll be watching this guy pitch his first game closely because I was catching him and and and and min league baseball was first,
you know. And yeah, now I got a lot of saves for him also too, So it's always awesome to see him. Man, every time I come here around. That's the first guy I wanted to see him in this curse. You guys were together back in Vero Beach and Kenley Janssen is back at Dodger Stadium. Kenley, when you look back at your career, can you take it all in or you're in the moment right now? And
obviously the goal is five hundred saves. Well, the goal is you know, I'll try to get Like I say, right now, you know you look at five hundred, but then you know I'll stay motivated. Man, I want to play this game for a little bit longer, and I believe you could do some more special things. And I got to keep my body in shape. And yeah, we're aiming for five hundred right now, and
you know, a couple of seasons hopefully can get it. So like I say, man, it's the law for the game that I have since I was a five years old kid growing up watching the Braves, watching my favorite player, Fred McGrath, watching Andrew Jones hit the homes, and Will says, never thought that, you know, I will be here too. So I'm having an unbelievable career. And yeah, of course that's that's that's a thing you focus on. But also you know, winning championship is my first
priority. So you know I want to. I want to. I want to get another one. I know you do, and you never know where you might get that next one. You never know, so that's the good thing about it. Kenley Jansen is our guest. Ken Ley always loyal to LA. His teammates were wearing Celtics Jersey to celebrate the Boston NBA championship, but Kenley would not wear the green, So we still love you in l a Ah, Yeah, I can't, man, I can't do that. Man. I mean I'm a growing up as a kid watching Shack play with
the magic, breaking the rains and becoming his favorite player. And then when he got when he got sent over to LA you know, ninety six, you know, ever since, I've been a leaguer fan. So like I said, man, purple goal, that's where I belong as much respect the half of the Red Sox fans and Boston fans overall, but I think they all get it also to it if I'm a huge fan growing up being a Laker. You know, I'm happy for them to win the championship, but
it's also hard to write that uniform. Kenley. Can't wait until we celebrate you at Dodgers Stadium after a great career, a Hall of Fame worthy career, and I envision number seventy four being down the left field line with all those Dodger greats one day. Great to have you back here and I'll let you get ready for the game. All right. That's thank you, Thank you for having me there.
