And now your host for Morongo Casino Dodgers on Tech. Tam Case, Hi everybody, and welcome in to Morongo Casino Dodgers on Tech. I hope you're enjoying your Sunday morning, A cup of coffee and don at a Bengel and some Dodgers baseball. Going into the All Star Break. Dodgers fifty six and forty on this season, first place at top the NL West. Today, the final game before the All Star Breaking. It can't get here fast enough. Injuries have hit this Dodgers team the first half of the season. They've

battled through them though, and still lead the division. But it's been a tough stretch the last week. After getting swept in Philadelphia, the Dodgers blew a five run lead yesterday in Detroit. Today they looked at going the All Star Break on a winning note. Brent Honeywell claimed off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates Dodgers gutting him last night, and he gets to start today in Detroit.

First pitch coming up at ten, forty coming up over the next hour Here on Arongo Casino Dodgers on Deck, we'll hear from the Dodger manager Dave Roberts get his thoughts on this Dodgers team in the final game of the first half of the season. Will preview this pitching matchup. David Vasse goes one on one with Brandon McDaniel, Dodgers strength and conditioning coach. Shortly, we'll

check in with Kirston Watson. In just a few minutes, we'll head out to the Gallpin Motors broadcast both it here from Rick Monday and Tim never Well. Yesterday, quite frankly, was one of the worst endings to a Dodger game this season, the Dodgers in Detroit taking on the Tigers. Justin Robleski. He was good five innings, four runs, three of which were earned, four hits. He gave up a couple of home runs but struck out

four along the way. The Dodgers gave the early one to nothing lead on the Freddie Freeman Fielder's Choice scoring Show Hey O Tani and the Dodgers led one to nothing, but Robleski gave that right back up with the two run double in the second inning. Dodgers tied it up on a basis loaded walk in the third, and then in the fifth a historic home run for show Hey National league leader in home runs with twenty eight ninety nine career home runs.

The swing drills it to right field, tape to the corner. It is gone. That's number two hundred for show Hey O'tani and the Dodgers take the lead three to two. A line drive justin signed the right field foul poll for Otani home run number twenty nine and a milestone homer for Otani, number two hundred of his career, the fifty six extra base hit of the first half, most ever by a Dodger player. As the Dodgers had a three to two lead, they'd make it a five to lead thanks to a Gavin

Lux two run single. Later on that inning, the Tiger Zoe would chip away. It was a five to four Dodgers lead in the sixth when Otani grouded into a fielder's choice, again a six to four lead. Keiky Hernandez then extended that lead for the Dodgers in the seventh ten forty Pacific time. Will be the first pitch to kyk belts one deep to left field. That one is gone off the pole. K k Hernandez Clank's won off the foul pole for his fifth home run of the season. It's a two run shot

and the Dodgers now lead at eight to four. Dodgers up by four, they'd make it a five run lead in the eighth on the Freddie Freeman sack fly. They were up nine to four going into the ninth inning. Ricky Venasko on in relief. He couldn't get it out, gave up three runs. Officially, Evan Phillips gave up a two run home run to tie the game at nine. Somehow, the Dodgers blew a five run ninth inning lead,

so extra innings we went. The Dodgers could not push across the free base runner, so they were still tied going to the bottom of the tenth with Geo Urshela a two run home run to the left that walked it off for the Tigers, who come back with seven unanswered runs, including the two run walk off home run in the bottom of the tenth. They've stunned the Dodgers eleven to nine as the Dodgers blow a five run lead. Well, the Dodgers back at it today, look to go out on a winning note.

The first half of this season. Brent Honeywell on the mound first pitch and co America Park coming up at ten forty and with more, let's head out to the Gallpin Motors broadcast booth as we say hello and good morning to Rick Monday and Tim Never guys, Tim, thank you very much getting sent for the third and final game of this three game set. It's the rubber games who wins the series between the Dodgers and the Tigers. The Tigers yesterday

pulled off an incredible comeback on the Dodgers. The Dodgers bullpen really let them down. On the ninth inning, a five run lead was blown. It's the first time in many many years that has happened to the Dodgers, and a walk off home run by Geo or Schella was the final nail in the

coffin in an eleven to nine Tigers win yesterday. It was frustrating, and if you're reading the tea leaves at all, just as the of the players and the coaches were getting on some of the buses last night to go back to the hotel, they were not only stunned, I kind of sensed a

little anger because they let it get through their fingers. And we mentioned really in the outset of the ball game yesterday with the Dodgers scored first as they did yesterday, with a leadoff triple by Otani in the first inning and walked to Taskar Hernanez and then the infield out by Freeman that scored Otani. So again they led in the first inning, three batters into the game, and their record when they score first coming into yesterday forty one wins and six losses.

So it was a shocking turn of events in the ninth inning where Detroit Tigers, they went to home plate temp like they knew what was coming and the pitches that were done. It was a tough afternoon for Evan Phillips a blown save and then for Johann Ramirez third of an inning, but he gave up the big two run home run to walk off job. So the Dodgers have to figure out a way a to get more runners on base and then

be more efficient with runners in scoring position. That's not been the case the last seven eight games Olympic to the finish line before the All Star break. Today, the Dodgers fifty six and forty seven games up on both Arizona and San Diego. They lost a game by losing that game yesterday, lost a full game in the standings, and for the Central Division Tigers, they're still

in fourth place. They didn't gain any ground their thirteen back of Cleveland pitching matchup today, well, it's gonna be a bullpen day, so buckle up for that. For the Dodgers, a brand new name claimed yesterday off of waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates, Brent Honeywell Junior, twenty nine year old right hander. He will get the start in the big leagues this year, no

decisions in a two to seventy era. Don't know a lot about him other than his uncle Mike Marshall won the Cy Young in nineteen seventy four and he throws an occasional screwball. Other than that, we'll find out together as Brent Hulling Honeywell Junior will face Bawl Bristie Brisky we've seen in the series already. For the Tigers, he is one to zer on a three to five two in a challenging day for both teams in a bullpen game, no question about

it. I mentioned the fact they're trying to get more runners on base and then being more efficient. On this road trip with the Dodgers are one and four. They've had seventy three advanced with runners in scoring position. That sounds pretty good, but the opposing teams, both the Phillies and the Tigers combined have had ninety five advants with runners in scoring position. That needs to change, and with the Dodgers, when they get runners on, need to be

more efficient. So the Dodgers, at fifty six and forty one in four of the current road trip, look for just their second win on this swing, and the Tigers forty six and fifty still in fourth place in the Central Division, go at it an interleague play. Brent Honeywell Junior will start for the Dodgers today, don't know how long he'll go. Boe Brisky will start

for the Tigers, and he's probably an inning maybe to at best. That's your pitching matchup as we get you set for this rubber game between the Tigers and the Dodgers. Tim all right, nothing like a bullpen game going into the All Star break. As we count you down to first pitch, Dodger fans, get your game day meal on. It's Shaky's Pizza Parlor. What are your Shaky's Pizza Chicken Mojo's right now at shakys dot com. Coming up here on Dodgers on Deck. You'll here for the manager, Dave Roberts.

We'll check in with David Veasse. Of course we'll dive deeper into today's pitching matchup and what is a bullpen game for both teams. But up next to your Otani rewind An, we'll visit with Karsten Watson from Sports net LA. We're leading you up to first pitch on this Sunday, Dodgers and Tigers from Detroit. First pitch set for ten forty. Thanks for being with us,

Happy Sunday. I'm Tim Kasi's Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network. It's Longo Casino, Dodgers on Dodgers on Deck, y'all on the official home of LA Dodgers Baseball. It's the Dodgers and Tigers on this Sunday. Brant Honeywell claimed off waivers from the Pirates. He'll get this for the Dodgers Bobrisky reliever. We'll get the job as the opener for Detroit. First pitch coming up in ten

forty. This is the rewide OH. One pitch is hit down the right field line, that's gonna roll to the corner rounding first and on his way to second base. He is show Hey Otani, He's not stopping. He is on his way to third and he is in with a leadoff triple. It is his fifty fifth extra base hit that ties a Dodger franchise record set by Duke Snyder, having fifty five extra base hits before the All Star Break and one hundred and ninety nine career home runs. He swings drills at the

right field taped to the corner. It is gone. That's number two hundred for show Hey Otani, and the Dodgers take the lead three to two. Show Hey Otani. Yesterday eat off triple scored in the first and then a home run. He went two for four on base four times with two more walks at fifty six extra base hits. Now on the season with the triple

and the home run. Home run number twenty nine. Stolen base also there for Otani, number twenty three, and that is our Otani rewind on this Sunday, brought to you by etoins Oi Ocha, Japan's number one green tea and the tea that show Hey Otani loves and drinks available to local Diso stores, Amazon and eto in dot Com. That's it o e N dot com.

This is Kirston's corner with Kirston Watson and Kirston Out joins just from co America p our final game of this three game series, final game before the All Star break, and the Dodgers Kirsten in need of some pitching the way the bullpen has been taxed the last week. They've brought in some help, at least for today. Brent Honeywell gets to start for the Dodgers. Yes,

and he is someone who he can't take up too much length. The hope is Dave was saying, an ideal situation is maybe three innings, but the hope is he can just go out there give the team some support. Ryan Yarborough is also available, so he has he pitched a couple of days ago, so he's only really going to be able to give like one or two innings. He can't take down his usual multiples just because he hasn't had

the rest in between. But today, like you said, it's really about just piecing it together, getting I kind of feel like we might be crawling to the first half finish line, but just finding ways, you know, not only for the offense to continue to get going, which we did see yesterday and really the last two days, so that's been really good. But hopefully just the bullpen can give the offense the support to help put them in

a position to win. But when it comes to Brent honeywell, Dave was saying, he's a pretty neutral guy, so it's not like this is major league debut or anything. He spent some time in the big leagues and so the hope is just for him to find ways to be efficient against his Tigers offense and allow the rest of the arms in the bullpen to come behind him and continue to protect to help the team win. Kirsten's brought to buy cars for Kids, the easiest way to get rid of your old car. Donate

today, your car could be picked up tomorrow. Donate now Carsfrokids dot org. That's cars with a K. It's tough right now. Certainly as the Dodgers going to the All Star Break, they've lost some games they should have won. They'll have the break and then when we come back here at the end of July, hopeful that the Dodgers can turn things around. In looks like the Calvary could be coming to help out. Yeah, you know what that is the biggest thing. This All Star break honestly is coming at the

perfect time. Maybe became like a week earlier could have been even better, but the fact that there are so many guys who are getting healthy right now, and that's been the biggest issue. They're dealing with so many injuries at the moment. But looking ahead, we've got Jason Hayward, so he is someone who Dave said, as soon as he's eligible to come off the il, he should be returning. He's not going to need to do a rehab

assignment. Clayton Kershaw is someone who just threw yesterday, had to start with OKC, was really really solid. He's only gonna need likely one more outing then hopefully he can get through four, maybe do five or do a fifth inning in the bullpen, and then he should hopefully be activated. After that. You have someone like Joe Kelly. Dave Roberts said that he's going to be returning after the All Star Break. Bruce dar graderol who I think early

in the year we had a lot of question marks about. He is someone who he's gone back on track. He's been throwing bullpens. He's doing really well facing hitters and Dave is saying that he's hoping to start his rehab assignment once the All Star break ends, and then he could be returning at the end of July. So you're seeing all of this progression, and so we're gonna be getting a lot of guys back, which is a really good sign. Even Yoshinobiammoto, as much as he's gonna need a bit more time.

He's moved to the sixty actually to make for the roster move in the on the forty man as well as the activation for Brent Tunneywell that's still just his timeline is a little bit longer, so that makes sense. But he's playing catch and kind of starting to get stretched out, so that's a good thing. Then you have someone like Cookie Betts, who Dave told us today that he actually was He started playing defense and was able to catch with his left

hand. That was something he could continue using his arm to throw, but he wasn't able to catch just due to the fracture and the fact that he was able to do that, it's you know, it's just a sign of progression. It's a big step for him. He said that Mookie was really excited about it, so there's a lot of positives. You know, we don't necessarily feeling here in Detroit right now, but there's a lot of positives

just that guys are getting healthy. The second half is going to be electric, and I think we're going to see this team turn it on because they have big goals when it comes to October. But you got to start playing like that as we get into August and September, hopefully they can go out in a winning note. Hereson, We appreciate it. We'll check in with you after the game. Coming up here, I'm wrong Goo Casino Dodgers on Deck will die deeper into this pitching matchup, David Vats goes one on one

with Brandy McDaniel. But up next we'll get you an injury report and we'll hear from the manager, Dave Roberts. Leading up to Dodgers and Tigers on this Sunday morning, I'm sim Kass, Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network. This is Marongo Casino Dodgers Hunting game on your home for La Dodgers Baseball. Marongo Casino Dodgers on Deck continues, Marongo Casino Resorting Spot, Grand Slam for good

Leading you up to Dodgers and Tigers on this Sunday, first pitch in ten forty This it's the LA Dodgers Injury Report present if my UCLA healthy official medical partner the Los Angeles Dodgers will get you updated on a couple of Dodgers on the il. Clayton Kershaw through last night for Oklahoma City. Good report from that. He'll make a four to five inning start for Oklahoma City on Friday. If that goes well, he could be ready to return after

the All Star break. Jason Hayward is on track to be activated after the All Star break. He will not need to rehab. Assimon and Mookie Betts has started fielding ground balls, as Kirson alluded to, another positive step in his recovery from a broken hand. So that is some positive injury news for the Dodgers's head back out to Detroit and check in on this Sunday with the Dodgers kipper anything dafties questions for Dave, Dave, can you just describe Dave?

Can you talk about the pressure in the dugout with Dave Roberts So Dave with Honeywell, just what is the plan for him and what can you tell us about him, so I know, I know he was I think he was an original race Drafty was with the Pirates and he's a neutral pitcher. There's a good change up in there. I had a chance to talk to him briefly this morning, and it's one of those he got in last night at about midnight, and I figured the best way to kind of assimilate him

is to start him. And so he's gonna go out there and give us what he can, and I don't know what that's going to be. Hopefully, you know, he's got right around forty five fifty pitch or something like that, So we'll see how it goes. All right, there's Dave Robberts. Yeah, Brandon Honeywell, we'll get the start for the Dodgers claimed off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates. Down the dugout brought to you by Service Titan. We'll check out with David Bassay to lead you up to first pitch Dodgers and Tigers. I'm Tim Kays's Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network. This is Morongo Casino Dodgers on tap on your home for the Blue All Season Law. It's the Dodgers and Tigers on

this Sunday morning. Brent Honeywell gets a start for the Dodgers as the opener, first pitch coming up at ten forty, joining Tim kats on Dodgers on deck. I accept everybody for who they are. This is Dodger insider David Basse. All Right, DV. Yesterday the ninth inning completely got away from the Dodgers and also got away from Evan Phillips. What happened yesterday late in

this game, in particular Evan Phillips, What's going on? Any concern there, Tim, There's a lot of concern because on the last home stand, Evan Phillips told me he's been trying to work through some things, mechanical things, pitch grips, and yesterday was evident that he has not worked them out. And after the game yesterday he shared some more insight on the adjustments he needs to make, especially to left handed hitters. We've seen it here and

there with some some good lieft handed hitters, especially against me. You know, I think we've done, you know, an all right job so far, have him mixing back in. You know, you sinkers have lefties any four teams, more sliders, whatever it is to keep them off balance. And we still believe that. You know, my cutter versus lefties are one of my best options. So it'll still continue to be a piece for me. But we just got to do a better job of keeping these guys off

balance. Evan Phillips is one of the higher baseball IQs on that team, tim and obviously if anybody's going to figure it out, it is Evan Phillips. But I thought it was interesting the day before he pitched in the sixth inning and then yesterday asked to get the final three outs. I know the Dodgers have definitely preached and created a culture of pitch whenever you're asked to pitch, whether it's the sixth inning or the ninth inning, But as you know,

the final three outs are different than any other inning. Maybe a lack of continuity for Evan Phillips recently has contributed to some of these hiccups. David has driven by Ford. There's one thing we like. Its choice is fight yours with the fort f one to fifty gas hybrid or all electric tough This smart, This can only be called f one fifty. All right. We're all excited about the All Star Game and the festivities, David, but the

trade deadlines it's gonna be a few weeks after this All Star break. What do you hearing anything bruined for the Dodgers. Well, they're still looking for an everyday outfielder, and Randio rose Lorena and Luis Roberts seem to be the two names that are connected to the Dodgers the most. Also, Garrett Crochet is still out there, and the Dodgers definitely are one of the teams that are in on the White Sox left hander. But I'm not sure you heard

me on Dodger Talk. A couple of days ago, tim I came up with a scenario that could possibly entice the Tigers to at least consider and strongly consider a trade of Trek Scubel to the Dodgers. It couldn't just be the Dodgers unloading their farm system. If you remember in twenty twelve when the Dodgers made that blockbuster trade with the Red Sox. They took on a lot of

dead money from Boston to bring Adrian Gonzalez to the Dodgers. Why not offer to take Javier bias Is three years, eighty million dollars remaining on his contract and take that burden off Detroit in exchange for Trek's scouble and maybe a lesser prospect package. Not saying that's been discussed, but if people are thinking about Schooble and how to get him away from Detroit, that would be one way

that trade makes so much sense. Dave, I'm actually in face for that immediately, Yeah, immediately, all right, Dave, We appreciate it. We'll check back you with you just a little bit. Final Game, Final pregame show before the all Star breaks. So Rick and I are going to have some time apart, and I'm really concerned about you, Rick, how you're going to handle that. Well, I'll figure out a way to do it because I will be home in Florida later tonight and I guess major League Baseball. But

there's a lot of people. The airports are going to be busy with players and coaches kind of scattering around. It's not going to be a full plane going back to Los Angeles. Some guys obviously are going to Texas for the All Star Games and those events that are taking place. Others are taking your respite for a number of days and going home wherever that may be, in whichever state that it may be that they're headed to. So it's one of those things. Hey, by the way, I got to ask him,

did you get any phone calls yesterday on the postgame show? Oh? We had a few. Rike. I say that because you and I talk a lot about the fact is that when the Dodgers lose a game, especially if it's painful, and the one that we look at yesterday was painful. Indeed, that's oddly enough, that's where you get the most action as far as phone calls coming in, and everyone has an opinion. Some people have something

constructive to say, some are venting, which is a good thing. It's a good platform for you to be able to share some moments with people that watch this Dodger ball club. And it was frustrating and the results in the ending in yesterday's ballgame at ten innings. The good news is Rick, there's another game today before the All Star break, and the Dodgers can salvage this series by getting a win. How vital is it for them to get this win today and go into the break feeling good. Well, I think it's

a good point to bring up. They're all vital games to play. But I think even more so, it gets magnified when you're not playing particularly good baseball. And that's where the Dodgers find themselves right now. I mean, on this road trip, something that Tim Nevert and I will be talking about a little bit later on on this road trip, David, they're one and four. They've been outscored thirty three runs to eighteen. That's not a good

sign. And if we look at the starting pitching, you look at recently, the starting pitching has worked the last fifty eight and two thirds innings, they've given up fifty eight earned runs, and that's going to turn around. I don't know if it's going to turn around today or not, because you know, you're calling up Honeywell, who, by the way, met Dave Roberts on the bus coming to the ballpark today. Ain't that something, Rick?

I mean, that's where things are right now for the Dodgers pitching staff. Brent Honeywell, who was picked up in the wee hours of the morning, is now going to be the starter or opener for the Dodgers. We'll see how long it goes. David. Word of point two is that Honeywell also can claim the number thirty because he is now the thirtieth different pitcher the

Dodgers have used already this year. So we've had pitchers that have come in and joined this ball club that name tags have been mandatory, and it just feels like the Dodgers have not been able to put it together recently. Rick. They don't get good starting pitching, and they don't score runs. They score runs and they don't get the pitching to support it. Hopefully today they can bring that all together. Yeah, and it needs to turn around and

do it and the guys are working hard. I mean, that's exactly what happens. There's a couple of numbers that yesterday went south. I mean, the Dodgers entered yesterday's ball game and they scored in the first inning a leadoff triple by Otani. There was a walk to Tiascar Hernanez and the ground ball out, but an RBI by Freddy Freeman sold one to nothing very quickly. And they entered yesterday's ball game when they score first, with a record and

an incredible record of forty one wins and six losses. And yet they lost that ball game painfully. As they looked in the ninth inning trying to close things out, they got closed out. They had a five run lead in the ninth, they give up five in the ninth and a walk off two run home run in the tenth inning. So runners in scoring position has also been problematic Dodgers have had. If we look back now to the last six

games, they've had seventy three advance with runners in scoring position. What about the opposing teams, they've had ninety five opportunities. I just need to change those numbers around. And today's a good day for the Dodgers to you know what, Rick, get a win? Yeah, And we have another term that we talk about internally with a broadcast that we will abstain from saying. But Dave Roberts knows it exactly because you and I used to walk into his

office and when ask him, Dave, you know what today is? And you knew exactly the answer. And hopefully we're all on board today. All right, Rick, enjoy the all Star break, and we still got nine innings of you and Tim Neverett before we say, see you in a little bit. Thanks, Rick, try to live life without me. Hang in there. We'll send it back to you in the studio. Tim, all right, thanks a lot, guys. Dodgers Baseball is brought to by Speedy

But up next we go high and time with Brandon McDaniel. He's been busy him and his staff getting Dodger players healthy here this first

half of the season. We'll check out with Brand McDaniel. Next, Dodgers Tigers from Detroit on Tim Kates's Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network. This is Morongo Casino Dodgers hunting on your home for LA Dodgers Baseball. It's the Dodgers and Tigers on this Sunday morning. Brent Honeywell and Bow Brisky. The pitch you've matched up, first pitch coming up at ten forty. Dodgers Baseball is presented

Find the right doctor at c HLA dot org. And now what will likely be vast fielding insults from a Dodger player. It's an engagement of endearment. This this high end tugged the Dodgers and Tigers getting set for first pitch in Motown. And we're joined right now by the Dodgers Vice President of Player

Performance, Brandon McDaniel. Brandon, thanks a lot for the time. Appreciate it, Oh, thank you, Dave. I enjoy being on here every time as I say thank you for your time. I see a clock on your forearm, a tattoo. What does that represent? This is actually when my son was born. So you notice there's a day. This is my oldest Caleb, and the exact time he was born. I got three of them, so I have three boys, one for Turner and then one for

Asher on the backside here. So it's just kind of like significance to me. I'm always looking down in my arm and it's a reminder what the most important things in life are. Even when the Dodgers are on the road, you're away from your family quite a bit because you're working with the Dodgers injured players here in Los Angeles. So right now on the last home stand, I saw you working a lot with Mookie Betts. How has that progression gone

for him and for you? Yeah? No, I mean, obviously it's an unfortunate situation to be in where someone gets injured, especially when it's Mookie Bets, and the nature of these injuries, especially like a broken bone like he has. Right away, we just we step into the mindset of what can we go get better at? And it helps when it's someone like you know, Mookie who's very motivated and wants to be the best on the field.

So we've kind of tried to attack some things. He's going after some things in the weight room that we can do without gripping with that left hand. Right now, He's going after some speed stuff, like to make sure that when we come back from you know, from the il, that he's

ready to sprint as fast as he can. And then lastly it is the throwing and so like we know right now that we can throw, and so if you see us out here, we started with kind of a throwing program over the first ten days, just to make sure that his arms stayed in shape. But now we're attacking like very specific things with Dino on the field, like positions that he's going to get into to throw the baseball, so that he feels like he's mastered those things so that when we hit the ground

running, when he comes back, he's ready to go. This reminds me of when you were working with Corey Seeger after he broke his hand in twenty twenty one, and so completely opposite hand. Corey broke his right hand and we couldn't throw. And Corey obviously another extremely motivated player and had a great

relationship with him. We had an air cast like a splint on his right hand, like a bubble basically, and I was hitting ground balls to him like the day after he was clear to get onto the field, because ultimately we were just trying to maximize Corey into being the best short south that he possibly could be, and that was more. You know, no injury is rewarding, but one of the more rewarding processes I've ever been a part of is like when Corey came back, he was able to ball out short.

Brandon McDaniel, the Dodgers VP of Player Performance, is our guest. You've been with the team for a long time now. You were here during a neck Colletti era and obviously here in the transition with Andrew Friedman. It feels like this is a well oiled machine now after you guys got the infrastructure put in place. It's crazy to look back. This is my thirteenth season with

the Dodgers. It was very fortunate to be around Net and Net gave me my first big league job, and I'll always be in debt to him and to Stan Conti, and we did some really special things. And twelve, when everything kind of turned over when mister Walter A bought the team in thirteen, when we went out and you know, got Zach Grienky and hunjin Rue and Carl Crawford was coming off the IL and Josh Beckett and all those things.

So like it was really cool to be around that era of players and that era of success because we had a really good team in thirteen, We had a really good squad in fourteen. But obviously Andrew coming in this is

the tenth season that I've been fortunate enough to work with him. Like the process at which we go about things all the way from you know, the International Amateur Draft to PD all the way up to like the things that we do at the big league level has afforded all of us on the staff the opportunity to go be creative, go be curious, and to do things like we're doing with Mookie right now that maybe fifteen years ago probably weren't the norm

for a strength coach to be out here working with somebody like that. But the environment that has been created as ultimately open is up to have that well oiled machine. Like you mentioned before, I let you go going back to Segur in twenty one and what we're seeing with MOOKI right now. It feels like the work that you're doing with them actually makes them feel like they're a competing and be accomplishing something. So does that help their mental health? Yeah?

I mean, I think the hardest thing and of doing this role, I've been around a lot of guys that have been injured. Obviously that kind of sucks to say it that way, but I have been and you feel disconnected, I think, and you feel disconnected from your team at times. You feel disconnected from the competition and from the game. And I don't think

that what I'm doing is anything special anything that anybody else could do. What I want to do is provide an environment, a competitive environment, for guys to be able to come in and get their work in every day and feel like they're working towards something, and not just working towards, you know,

being activated, but like working towards greatness. Let's not only do this to make sure that you're gonna be better when you come back, but hopefully something Mookie picks up something or learns something about himself that he takes with him for the rest of his career. And to me, that's like where I get the most gratification, no pun intended. MOOKI is in great hands with Brandon McDaniel, the Dodgers VP of Player Performance. Thanks a lot for the time
