And now your host former Wrongo Casino Dodgers on deck, Kenny Tam kys Hi everybody, and welcome in to mo Wrongo Casino Dodgers on deck, ad afternoon to you your Los Angeles Dodgers fifty two and thirty two as we sit on this Sunday afternoon, first place atop the NL West. After getting walked off Friday night in San Francisco, the Dodgers looked to get back on track yesterday, and they did just that in extra innings today, the rubber game of

this three game set. James Paxton on the mound, The big maple, first pitch of Oracle Park is coming up at one oh five, coming up over the next sixty minutes here on a wronggo Casino Dodgers on deck. We got a lot to get to. You're gonna hear from the Dodger manager, Dave Roberts. You're gonna hear from Dodgers third baits coach Dino Ebles. David Vaste will sit down and go one on one with Dino. Ebel. Will

dive deeper to this pitchy matchup just a little bit. We'll visit with Kirsten Watson live on the field at Oracle Park, and in just a few minutes we'll check in with Rick Monday and Steven Nelson, who hopefully still has a voice left after that long marathon of a game yesterday at Oracle Park. It was back and forth for nine innings before the Dodgers pulled away in extra innings. Tyler Glassnow got to start his shortest outing as a Dodger, just three

innings. He gave up five runs while striking out only one and walking too After Glass Now, eight different relievers came in to pitch for the Dodgers. The Giants, meanwhile, used seven different pitchers and a bullpen game, A lot of pitchers, a lot of offense between these two teams Yesterday. Twenty one combined runs, twenty nine combined hits between the Dodgers and Giants. In the second Miguel Rojas an RBI single, and the third show Hey Otani a

solo home run, his twenty sixth of this season. In the fourth, the Dodgers scored four runs, two off infield singles, one off a single to right from Gavin Lux and one of those off a bases loaded walk to Freddie Freeman. Dodgers and Giants were tied at six after nine innings. In the tenth, both teams would score the free runners. The Giants had a chance to win it, but couldn't do it, so they went to the eleventh tied at seven with a free runner. On second showy Otani was intentionally

walked, bringing up Will Smith. Heyo two to Smith. Will swings in the air left center field, that splits the gap, gets all the way to the warning track. K K stores so hay Be waved a rap, Will Smith, Oh did you? A two run double on the top of the eleventh, Dodgers ahead nine to seven. Two run double from Will Smith, Dodgers a two run lad next stuff in RBI double Dodgers a ten to seven lead. Two batters later, Chris Taylor and RBI singled to right.

Dodgers were up eleven to seven. R after that. Jason Hayward Jason Hayward first and second, still no outs. First piss swinging grandit foot ball down the right field line, tail will score great hight for fifteen. As the ball gets all the way to the corner, Hayward heads the third hey poo run triple. Jason Hayward standing on third and two run triple Dodgers of thirteen to seven. They tack on one more on a Miguel Rojas sack. Fly

Dodgers was seven runs in the top half of the eleventh inning. They go on and beat the Giants fourteen to seven, a game that took nearly four hours but was worth the way. The Dodgers get the win. They're now fifty two and thirty two overall. Today, the rubber game of this three

game series in San Francisco. James Paxton on the mound and with more we head out to the Gallpin Motors broadcast booth as we welcome in Rick Monday and hopefully a guy who still has a voice after that long game yesterday, Steven Nelson, Thank you, Tim, I'm here next to Rick Monday. No, I'm kidd night. My voice is fine after all the screaming and yelling I did in the eleventh inning yesterday. Is the Dodgers scored seven runs. It went from a tight game to a blowout out. Justina Blink, I

don't know how either one of these clubs tops today. What we have seen a walk off home run Friday night as the Giants prevailed at to run blast when to get five to three, and did the Dodgers last night able to come back up and put a seventh spot on the board in the eleventh inning. So it comes down to drama. Also, you know, in that losing effort on Friday night, keep in mind too, the Dodgers had to score a run in the ninth inning in order to even take it into the

bottom of the ninth and they were able to survive. On that end of it. I think it's going to be really on the weight on the shoulders of James Paxton for the Dodgers today to kind of relief appearances of the bullpen. And on the flip side of that, Steven the San Francisco Giants, they have Spencer Bevans is going to be going and we know that their bullpen is absolutely exhausted, so they're going to have to try and maneuver themselves.

Yeah, Bob Melvin was asked after the game last night, hey, what's your plan. You have back to back bullpit game bullpening games, and he's like basically threw his arms. We'll see, we'll see. I mean, Tyler Rodgers did not pitch yesterday after pitching the opener. We have Luke Jackson. Those are probably the first two that come to mind in terms of who is available for the Giants. That did make a call bringing a kid up from Triple A today. But this is on paper, on paper, this

is a game that the Dodgers should be able to take advantage. Now they are sitting Will Smith and Miguel Rojas as the plan to keep. Mickey wrote thirty five years old, fresh but having played three out of four and Will Smith after you know, catching eleven and then the quick turnaround the day game, he's probably available off the bench today. But again, on paper, this is a game they should win. Yesterday, on paper, that was a game that they should have run away with Tyler glassnow on the mound.

But it didn't. It just didn't go that way. That's why we got it was actually funding on the bus earlier today going from the hotel to coming to the ballpark, is it? Freddie Freeman and his son were already on the bus, and then Will Smith got on the bus and as he's walking past Freddy, Freddy says, oh, you're not going to play today. And he turned to me and says, mo, what do you think about that? And I said, well, he had a good night last night,

so just give us the space. And they were all laughing. I mean, this is a ball club that understands, Hey, look, we've got to rest some guys here and there. Interesting also, as you bring up KK Hernanez will start at shortstop, and Chris Taylor is going to get from what we understand, a little bit more opportunity and get some more looks

at third base as he will be there. Gavin Lucks again is going to be at SACA base, Jason Hayward in the number five spot, and Hayward's bat beginning to really start to warm up, so he'll play just his thirty ninth game, but his presence back of the lineup has really added it a lot. Hopefully the Dodgers can carry the momentum from that seven run eruption in the top of the eleventh yesterday here in today's series finale. We'll have a little bit more a little bit later, but for now, back to you

TC. All right, thank you, Nelly, good to hear your voices. Okay, we caunting down to first pitch. Youll here from the Dodger manager Dave Roberts. Get his pregame thoughts. We'll check you with David Ves eighth. Throughout the show will dive deeper into

today's pitchy matchup, another bullpen game for the Giants. But up next your o Taani rewind and we'll hear from Kirsten Watson on the field at Oracle Park in San Francisco. So the lead you have to first pitch on this Sunday Dodgers and Giants. Thanks for being with us. I'm Tim Kates's Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network is Lorono Casino, Dodgers on Dodgers on Deck. Y'all on the official home of LA Dodgers Baseball, Dodgers and Giants on this Sunday afternoon.

James Paxson, Spencer Bibbins the pitching matchup, first pitcher Oracle Parks,

coming up out of one oh five. This is the Otani rewind. Really that that one corner up and in is where you can get him fly ball center field, hit pretty deep on the warning track is Ramos at the wall that has gone no. Show Hey Otani launch his home run number twenty six to straightaway center field and it puts the Dodgers in front two to one with one on the top of the third four hundred and twelve foot home run for show Hey O'tani in the third inning yesterday, his twenty sixth home run of

the season, RBI number sixty two for Otani, who's now hitting three twenty one on this season. The Otani rewind brought to buy Eto into oil Chat, Japan's number one green tea and the tea that's show Hey Otani loves and drinks available your local DISO stores, Amazon and eto in dot com. That's it o e n dot Com. This is Kirston's corner with Kirston Watson.

Hey Kirston now joins us from the field at Oracle Park in San Francis go before the final game of this three game series and Kirsen a long one yesterday. Both bullpens got used a lot. The Giant's gonna have to use that bullpen again today. But for the Dodgers, James Paxton, what are you looking from him today, the hope is that he can go deep into this

game and just give the bullpen and breather as much as possible. Dave didn't specify like who's unavailable on the bullpen, but he said, just know a lot of guys are going to be down. So the hope is that James Paxton can just give them as much as they possibly can today to get the whole team to the off day tomorrow. Looking at the lineup CT three, Chris Taylor at third base today, Yeah, and it's something that Dave Roberts

said today. They're going to give him a bit of a runway at third so stepping in there today, said that we'll be seeing him if a left he's on the mound, he'll probably step back over a second base or Alwa's kind of been seeing him stepping in for Gavin looks against a lefty. But for now, Davis don't really pleased with what he's been seeing from Chris Taylor

in regard to just the quality of that bat. You look at these last two weeks, he's essentially batting over four hundred, so he's getting things going with the bat, just kind of feeling in a really good spot offensively. So the hope is, you know, with a little bit more playing time,

did you continue with that? Dave hasn't been as pleased just what he's with what he's been seeing from the guys who have been stepping in at third base, not necessarily defensively, it felt like he gave really strong defensively,

but offensively they haven't been there just yet. So the hope is, you know, get a little bit more consistency at the bottom of the order from whoever's playing at third So right now saying it'll be Chris Taylor, and you know, moving forward, he doesn't know exactly what the plan is going to be, but there were to be seeing a lot more of Chris Taylor playing at third base. Good news, Appreciate it. Curiously, we'll check out with you after the game. Curious is brought to you my Cars for Kids,

Here on Dodgers on Deck, we'll pret view this bitching matchup. David Mass goes one on one with dno Ebel Dodgers third base. Marango Casino Dodgers on deck continues on this Sunday afternoon Dodgers in San Francisco to take on the Giants Marogo Casino Resort in Spa, a Grand Slam for good times. Rubber game of this three game set. First pitch coming up at one O five. This is the LA Dodgers injury report. President of my UCLA Healthy, official medical partner of the Los Angeles

Dodgers. Mookie Bets on the iel at the fractured hand. Yoshinobo Yamamoda on the iel at the strained a rotator cuff, Walker Vieler on the iel with the right hip soreness. Ryan Brazier, Michael Grove both on the I. L. Clayton Kersha, He's gonna pick up a baseball hopefully this week and resume throwing. Max Munsey's doing baseball activities and it sounds like he is progressing. He's able to come off the il the day before the All Star break,

so probably won't see him until after the All Star break. Brusdar Graderal, Joe Kelly, Tony Gonsolin estimate all on the sixty day. I l all right, let's head back up north and check out with the Dodger Skipper. Questions for Dave Dave? Can you just describe Dave? Can you talk about the pressure in the dugouts with Dave Roberts you felt about the production at third basis next, it's gone down, hasn't been great. I think that you know, keyk is playing the heck out of third base, playing third

base, the offense has been inconsistent, Calvin has got on base. I just think that the Abats need to get better and the defense has been fine. So I think that you know, for me, you know, it's it's performance certainly should matter, and I think that opportunity should be created. I think that Chris is gonna I'm gonna give him some runway at third base, and I think that he deserves a look and I think his last couple

of weeks speak to that. When you see a runway, does that mean two three consecutive starts or is that you know when Keyk's giving Rojas a day off. No, he's gonna play. He's gonna play. He's gonna play. So I don't know what that means, but he's gonna play more than he's played in the last few weeks. Do you see him still stepping in

at second or primarily able to be at third? We'll see. I think verse left he'll be at second base, verse left to be a second base, but you know the runway is more of he's gonna be playing more verse right and just in general. But I think, yeah, verse left he'll be a second base. And then would you want to take a look at happened or even keikick kind of elsewhere on the field or where does that impacts

sense? No, I don't think so. I think that it doesn't change that part as far as you know where they're going to play on the field. All right, there's Dave Roberts down the dugout brought to you by Service Titan. Dave Roberts a Titan in his own right and he's got a plan before his team hits the field. Dodgers. Fans and hands are listening experienced all Dodger games by downloading the iHeartRadio app and listening in HD. It's all powered by Lacare Health Plan serving all Angelinos Lacare dot Org. Joining Tim kits on Dodgers on Deck, I accept everybody for who they are. This is Dodger insider David Basse. All right, DV Miguel Rojas, pretty impressive what he did yesterday? Yeah, great, game by Miguel Rojas, not only the three hits and four RBIs,

but again great defense. There was a play in the game yesterday where Jorge Selaire was at second base, ground ball hit to Miguel Rojas, aggressive play to throw to third base to get not only an out, but get the out at third base. And that's not something a lot of shortstops would do or would be able to execute. But Miguel Rojas stopped for us. After the game last night, just talked about the resiliency this team has showed in individual games and all season long. It's really good. I feel like

that's all you can ask for. You know, every single day we come to a ball part with the expectation to win, and we don't take it for gotten that we want to win every single game. And we know what we want our compli, which is winning in the postseason and winning awards years. This game was pretty much a postseason game, to be honest with you,

here against our rival, and he's always nice to win here. A great game for the Dodgers, scoring seven runs in that eleventh inning, tim and there were just so many different things that went on in that three hour, forty five minute game. But I think everybody that was here listening thoroughly enjoyed a classic Dodgers Giant Seesaw game. Yeah, no doubt about it.

David is duram by The Ford F Series, America's best selling truckst for forty seven years in county Ford gives you freedom of choice, gas, hybrid, electric, heady your Southern California Ford Dealers, and find yours Ford F Series built tough. Chris Taylor, David, we're gonna see a little bit more of the CT three. Yeah, he's in the starting lineup as you know today. And Dave Roberts said that he is going to give Taylor more of a quote runway. And when I asked Dave Roberts, what does that mean?

Is he going to play third base? Is he going to play left field? Second base more? And he said he wasn't sure what that meant. But it feels like it's going to be more of third base for Chris Taylor, because let's be honest here, Kevin Bigio, that experiment really has felt like it's run its course and he's playing adequate I guess defense. He's not getting hits, he's not getting on base, So what really is he doing that's helping the team, DV. We appreciate it. We will check

in with you later on. Do you know, Ebel your conversations coming up in about fifteen minutes coming up here on Moroco Casino Dodgers on Deck though, we'll get you your Dodgers Magical moment as we're leaning you up to Dodgers and Giants on this Sunday afternoon rubber game of this three game series. I'm Tim Katsi's Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network is Lorongo Casino. Dodgers on Dodgers on Deck. Y'all on the official home of LA Dodgers Baseball. Dodgers and Giants. James Paxton, Spencer BIBBNS the pitching matchup.

First pitch from San Francisco coming up at one five Dodgers fans. Start your future at California Community College. Financial aids available to help you with tuition, books, and sometimes even the rent. It's time to take that next big step. Classes can fill up quickly, so enrolled today and I can go to college dot com and now joined by David Maasse. Here's La Dodgers

broadcaster and World Series champion Dodger Rick Monday. Well, Rick, as we get ready for this game, you had to throw out a former umpire. How good did that one? We just had the most delightful conversation with Ed Montague, a former Major League empire and now he is an official umpire review if you will. And he's one of those guys that as a Major league umpire, he was part of baseball. It wasn't like he was a separation. Well, we're an umpire and you're a player, and no, Ed

Montague was one of the best. He's been talking to the umpiring crew here in San Francisco as well. So we just had a nice talk about setting up for umpires and what have you. I did bring up something that took place last night, and I asked him specifically because we saw it take place late in the ballgame with what turned out to be a base hit. And that base hit was in the tenth inning and it appeared that it was off of Ramo's left foot. The ball stayed fair. It was an infield single,

So I asked Ed. I said, look, can you check into something for me, because we're looking at the different rules on replay and review and if it's the crew chief review that may be taking place, and he

brought up a good point. We had a nice, wonderful discussion. If you can review on a hit by pitch if it hit the batter or not, and that's an umpires and a crew chief review, you can do that, And if you can also review catcher's interference if the swing, if the bat happened hit the catcher's mint, and I proposed the question, then why can you not check on a review if the ball was fouled off of a

player's foot or leg or any part of his body and stayed fair? Because is that not also a description of fair or foul which is included in the review? And he goes, you know what, I'm going to give a call to Major League Baseball and maybe be able to figure out if that's something that should be included. I love that rick, because I talked to Dodger bench coach Danny Lehman, I'm out the same play, and he said that was not reviewable. We wish it would be reviewable, but we were stuck

between a rock and a hard play. But the question is would it not fall into the auspices of fair or foul because it should have been a foul ball should have been And does it also not to fall into it because it's reviewable if a batter is hit by a pitch or not. So Eddie mightded it was going to go down. In fact, that he's on his way as we speak, down to the umpire's room and to kind of talk to them and see what their thoughts are. But we had a nice discussion,

and I told him before he left he just a delightful guy. It was that same way as a as an umpire as well. I said, Eddie, we need to do some work right here. So I officially gave him the umpire heavo, you're out of here. Best story at Montague ever told me was that he intercepted a large Italian sub sandwich that was headed to Tommy Lasorda's office. He redirected it into the umpires the room at Dodger Stadium. Yeah, large Italian sandwich headed to Tommy. Amazing, huh, you would

never have thought that, But yeah, he intercepted that. We were talking about some of the empires that he worked with, and you know, we asked him a couple of different questions. Steven Nelson asked him, so, who was the most difficult player that he ever worked with on the field or against or hard feelings, whatever it may be. So we had some interesting discussions and it's just nice to bridge back and forth because those guys down they call him the men in Blue. They have a tough, tough job.

I mean, they're always on the road, and you know, we kind of talk about it. We talked about one of the umpires the other night who did not have a good night according to some official scoring in the difference between cold strikes and called baseballs out of the strike zone. All right, Rick, I'm going to enjoy this. You're out of here. Time to move on, David, we're about to start the game. In case you haven't figure out, I'm staying you're leaving good point. Rick has always got

me. Dang it. I'll send it back to you in the studio. Tim, All right, thank you, guys. Dodgers Baseball is brought to you by Speedy Cash, official sponsor of every LA Weekend. Rick Monday, Stephen Nelson will be back with the keys to the game. But I'm can actually going high and tight with Dodgers third base coach

Dino Ebel leading. You have to first pitch in San Francisco on this Sunday. I'm Tim Katsus Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network. This is Morongo Casino Dodgers Hunter Game on your home for LA Dodgers Baseball, Dodgers and Giants on this Sunday afternoon. It's an engagement of endearment. This is high and tight, an exciting game here at Oracle Park yesterday the Dodgers scoring seven runs in the eleventh inning, and the man that had the best view of all was Dodgers third base coach Dino Eboldino. Happy Sunday. Thanks a lot for the time,

oh always, Dave, Thank you for having me on. What an exciting chess match going on even before that eleventh inning, Dino, the five men infield, who I know you're a big proponent of from your days with Mike Zoshi. Absolutely, and that's something that I grew a custom, you know about in the defensive end of it through Mike, and Mike did it, you know, one thousand percent of the time anytime we were on the road. But you know, Dave did it yesterday. We're well prepared.

We know what we're doing on the defensive side, where to position guys, who's the hitter player, know what's what to do when the balls hits. So I like that. I think our staff liked it, and I was, you know, I know Dave is a big part of it. And yesterday, you know, he put it in play. And you know what David shows that you know, puts a little pressure on the hitter. He has to get a ball up in the zone, he has to hit a fly ball, he might have sworn a pitches that he's not customedly swinging at.

So put the pressure on them and big k from you know, Hudson getting their Bailey on that in that moment. That's a great point. That's why we come to dino Ebol. And in that four run fourth inning, you made an aggressive send on Gavin Lux's base hit to right field. Jason Hayward certainly made Patrick Bailey a little bit nervous bearing down on him absolutely. And you know there's times and I tell you all the time and I and

I say this, and I truly mean this. I'm not a perfect third base coach, but I do I know, I know the process of it, you know, the inning, the outs and all that stuff that the outfielders arm. And right there, I felt like, right now we need a little push and and I told Jason after the any way to go away, to run through the base and a big body coming at home play you just you know, I know there's no more the running the catcher over,

but there's still some presence there. I pushed the envelope a little bit and we got a break there when he missed the ball. Dodger's third base coach dio Ebol is our guest. All right, let's fast forward to that seven run eleventh inning. What was it like being in the coaches box and obviously see that avalanche happen. Yeah, it was impressive inning from our hitters. Right away. I felt like when Shohey was up there with you know, a man on second base, I thought Bob was gonna do what he did

and he walked him. And what a clutch double for Will Smith. There's there's the opportunity that Will shines in big moaning, the game, extra innings, packed house, and he delivers the big double. It puts us over the edge and then it just a carousel. Everybody was. They were passing the baton, they were swinging at good pitches, the pitcher was giving us pitches to hit, and we exploded for seven. But the thing that I got sided on was Jason a triple down the line for a veteran player coming

around and head diving at third base and getting up showing that emotion. Man, I got the chills out there. It fired me up. And I looked in our dugout and everybody was on their feet. So big, big inning. For us and a lot of runs in that moment. Was that the baseball gods rewarding Jason Hayward for making the right baseball play in the tenth inning to move the gifted runner to third base. There's no doubt about it.

And for me standing out in that box, I thought, that's a team at bat where you know, a left handed hitter get a guy over, and Jason forgot about his own self ego and he just put it to play, like, hey, this is gonna be a team at bat. I'm gonna do everything I can to move a runner over, and then he delivers big in the eleventh, which it was exciting to watch. It's ironic because before yesterday's game, Dino Ebol was telling me about team at bats,

how many at bats a player has to sacrifice the entire season. And you had the utmost veteran leader do that in the tenth inning, right, And that's something I learned long time ago. And you know your big horses on your team. You're gonna get six hundred and fifty seven hundred played appearances, and there's maybe five to ten good at bats a year where you're gonna give yourself up. You're gonna have a guy on second base move a runner over.

Those are the team at bats and we were talking about it yesterday and it came in to play with Jason yesterday. All Right, there's the man, Dodgers third base coach, Dino Ebel, a wealth of knowledge and the Dodgers are certainly fortunate to have him back in the organization. We'll send it back to you in the studio, Tim, all right, thanks a lot, DV. Great to hear from Dino Ebel, A great guy to learn the game of baseball from. the call today, Rick Monday and Steven Nelson. Thank you, Tim. All right, well, we're getting closer to first pitch in the series finale. The Dodgers have a chance to They've already clinched the winning road trip, but they want to take both series today, series on the line against the rival Giants the final series here in San Francisco in twenty twenty four. But believe it or not, for these two clubs, they only got one more

series left after this that's in July at Dodgers Stadium. So it's just weird to see play against San Francisco wrapping up before August. Yeah, and you're finished coming to San Francisco before the first of July, and then during the month of July, you're finished with the Giants. Period. But the Dodgers have won six of the eight played against his ball club. You mentioned a

winning road trip. Yes, indeed, four and one swept that series in Chicago, And I think realistically the Dodgers when they barked upon this road trip, we're thinking, hey, look, we need to go five and one since you're going against the White Sox, the lowly White Sox and the standings, and a ball club that is really having some difficulty, that being the San Francisco Giants, who are twelve games behind the Dodgers as we start today.

Coming up after this series, of course, the off day Monday, and then a six game homestand you have the kind of fledgling Arizona Diamondbacks who just cannot get anything rolling consistently. And then after that the Milwaukee Brewers. One more thing before this finale, I have to ask you about Shoeotani because now hits home run yesterday, number twenty six on the year, twelve games

in the leadoff spot, and again it looks beyond comfortable there. Twelve games the leadoffs, body's hit four to nineteen nine home runs, eighteen runs batted in. He's also scored sixteen runs. He's a guy, I will continue to say. When he's about to come up to bat, nobody leaves their seats. It is just amazing what he has done. You talk about a table setter, He's set a fit very large table at a fourteen game on bay Streak for show Hey entering Sunday. Well, next time you hear from

us, Tim, we will be welcoming show. Hey, Otani to the played against the San Francisco opener. Spencer Bibbins first pitch approaching here at Oracle Park all right after the game.
