And now your host for Morongo Casino Dodgers on Deck can tam Case. Hi everybody, and welcome in to Morongo Casino Dodgers on Deck on this absolutely beautiful, warm Friday evening here in southern California. Your Los Angeles Dodgers forty seven and thirty on this season, first place atop the NL West, a nine game lead over the Padres and the Diamondbacks in the division. After taking three or four from Colorado in Denver, the Dodgers are now back home for a
brief two game freeway series against the Anaheim Angels. First pitching Dodgers Stadium is coming up at seven to ten. Coming up over the next hour here on Marongo Casino Dodgers on Deck, you'll hear from the manager, Dave Roberts. We'll dive deeper into this pitching matchup. David Veasse will go one on one with Freddie Freeman. He is having himself a month of June. Shortly, we'll hear from Kirsten Watson, and in just a few minutes we'll check in
with Rick Monday and Tim Neverertt out at the Gallpin Motors Broadcast booth. Well yesterday in Denver Stone pitched a jim as the Dodgers used the long ball to get the win. Gavin Stone, what a first half he is having. The young right hander making his first start ever at coors Field, and usually this spot that's not favorable to pitchers, But for Stone, he defied the
odds and pitched well. Sixth inning and he went five and a third officially two runs, four hits, all of them singles, and he tied his season high was seven punchouts. The Dodgers offense, meanwhile, got after ty block early and often the first bat of the game, Show Hey Otani. Two balls in one strike to Otani, Otani, then Smith, then Freeman.
Here in the top of the first inning on a sun splashed Thursday afternoon two one swing on Well hit the center field, going back as Toil, He's to the track, to the wall, he leaps and that a home run. As Show Hey Otani hits it out, it's one nothing Dodgers instant offense for Show Hey O'tani his twenty first home run of the season, and the Dodgers scored first this afternoon leadoff home run for Show Hey, that's the top tier play of the game. Sponsored by Arco Quality top tier gas for
less. Dodgers up one to nothing. How about shoey Ootani by the way, the lead off spot four games in Denver, eight for eighteen, two home runs, three doubles and six rbi. The third bottom of the lineup came through Andy pa Has in RBI double that scored te Oscar Hernandez. Dodgers up two to nothing. The very next batter Miguel Vargas and RBI single to right that scored Paes. Dodgers up three to nothing. Then in the fourth Dodgers back at it. This time it wasn't back to back singles at scored
runs. It was back to back jacks home runs, first with Will Smith, then for Freddy Freeman Will Smith. It's the second Dodger home run today. Forty five RBIs now for Smith, breaking ball hammered by fred Need to center field. This ball heading back and this ball is gone. That's d of the trees. Freddy Freeman back to back home runs with Will Smith and the Dodgers lead at five to nothing. Back to back home runs is eleventh
of the season for Freddy. Dodgers a five to nothing lead. Gavin Stone pitched well for five innings, got into some trouble in the sixth, then he can give up a pair of runs. After that, the Rockies were able to get a runoff alex Vessia in the eighth. Dodgers z oh go on and beat the Rockies yesterday five to three to win this series. Gavin Stone is eighth win of the year. What a first half he is having. You got to get him to the All Star Game. Alex Vessia has
twelfth saved. Dodgers take three of four. They improved a forty seven and thirty. They're leading the divisions now nine over Arizona and San Diego, and tonight they're back home for a brief two game Freeway series against the Angels. Landon Nack called up from TRIPLEA Oklahoma City. He'll get the start. First pitch is seven to ten and with more we head out to the Gallpin Motors broadcast booth as we welcome in Rick Monday and Tim never guys, Thank you
Tim very much. Beautiful night here at Cheveezravine. The Dodgers and the Angels renew the Freeway series, although it's been a bit one sided lately, with the Dodgers taking ten in a row in this series and outscoring the Angels sixty to seventeen in those ten games. Patrick Sandoval will get the start. The left hander is two to eight for the Angels and for the Dodgers. They called up Triple A pitcher Landon Nack. Knack will make his fifth appearance for
the Dodgers this year. He's won in one of the big leagues with a two sixty one earned run average. JP Fireheisen was optioned back to Triple A Oklahoma City to make room for landon Nack. The Dodgers begin the day nine games up on both San Diego and Arizona forty seven and thirty season high seventeen games over five hundred. Meantime, the Angels twenty nine and forty five,
thirteen and a half back in fourth place in the American League West. The Dodgers coming off a pretty good road trip, just a four game trip to Colorado. But anytime you go onto Colorado and take three out of four, you'll take it. I think the other part, too, kind of coupled up with that same thinking, is the bull bin comes out of it. Okay, Dave Roberts saying there's a couple of arms in that bult bin tonight, maybe not going to be used, but that can be a nightmare for
pitching staff. So the Dodgers got through it relatively unscaled. This is a portion of the schedule also, and not to throw disparity towards any ball club at all, but if you're looking at the Rockies and their record, you look at the Angels in their record, and then the Dodgers after these two games in the Freeway Series move on to Chicago and face the White Sox.
This is the time that the Dodgers, if you're looking at it realistically, should possibly maybe even prove that nine game lead that they have in the nationally Western Division. The Angels are seventeen and twenty on the road. They've got a much better road record than they do at home. At home, they're only twelve and twenty five, but still under five hundred on the road.
And you're right, this is a point in the schedule here where the Dodgers really need to make some hay And if we look at this, the won two punts changes a little bit tonight for this Dodger lineup. Will Smith will get a breather after playing a few of the games up in Denver, Austin Barnes is doing the catch. He's going to bat in a nine spot, but t Oscar Hernandez is going to be elevated at the number two position in
tonight's game. He'll play right field and for show Hey Otani another night as a designated hitter, and boy, you can underline hitter because you look at the last four games where Otani has been the leadoff man for the Dodgers and the absence of Mookie Benz. He's eight for eighteen. We'll do the math. That's a four forty four batting average with two home runs and he's knocked in seven. And if Show Hey Otani gets an RBI in this game tonight,
he'll do something he's never done in his career. That's having RBI in six straight games. So Otani taking on the Angels for the first time, seeing his former team in the regular season. Will Smith having an off day today, Dave Roberts wants to rest the catcher, so Austin Barnes is in the lineup. Barnes is in the lineup, Rojas again at shortstop, and Miguel Vargas starts in left field. Ky K Hernanez another start at third base, and Chris Taylor, whose bat is beginning to live it up and live
it up. Indeed, he's going to get the start, bat eighth and play at second base. It's the Dodgers of the Angels, Game one of the Freeways series. Patrick Sandoval pitching for the Angels. He is two and eight Land and Knack called up today from Triple A. He will pitch for the Dodgers. Nak is one on one for LA this year, making his fifteenth appearance. Lineup's first pitch not too far away? Tim, All right, as we cut you down to first pitch. Dodger fans, get your
game day meal on at Shaky's Pizza Parlor. What are your Shaky's pizza, chicken and mojos right now at Shaky's dot Com. Coming up here on Dodgers on Deck. You will hear Dodger manager Dave Roberts. You will hear from Freddie Freeman David Vass say, we'll check in. We'll get you an injury updates. Max Monks he's been shifted to the sixty DIIL. What does that mean? Kyle Hurt activated off the Angel list but sent to Triple a what
does that mean? We'll break it on down, including the pitching matchup tonight when Land and Knack back from Triple A Oklahoma City is Patrick sandon Wall. It's a Dodgers and the Angels Freeway Series on this Friday night. Thanks for me and with this, I'm Tip Kates's Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network is Lorongo Casino Dodgers on, Dodgers on deck, y'all on the official home of La Dodgers Baseball as the Dodgers and Angels Freeway Series Land and Knack, Patrick Sandalwall.
The pitching matchup in this brief two game series Dodgers off on Sunday before heading into Chicago. First pitch tonight, coming up a seventen. This is the free wide two balls and one strike to Otani, Otani, then Smith, then Freeman. Here in the top of the first inning on a sun splashed Thursday afternoon. Two one swung on well hit the center field, going back his toil, He's to the track, to the wall, he leaps and that buzz gone a home run. As show Hey Otani hits it out.
It's one nothing Dodgers instant offense for show Hey O'tani his twenty first home run of the season and the Dodgers scored first. This afternoon show Hey Otani with the leadoff home run yesterday twenty one home runs thirty in Major League Baseball. He walked a couple of times yesterday. He has gotten his average up
now to three eighteen on this season. The Otani Rewind brought to you by Eto Wins Oyocha, Japan's number one Green Tea and the Tea Then show Hey Otani Loves and drinks available your local diso stores, Amazon and eto win dot Com. That's it oe n dot Com. Last night, after the game, Kirsten Watson had a checks to catch up with one of the Dodgers who hit a home run. Otani went deep, Freddie Freeman went deep, and so too Will Smith. Well, in this series you had a lot of
hard hit ball, but today one finally fell. Just how good did it seed? Just to get the results today? Yeah, I had thee one homer. Yeah I feel all right it to play. You know, driving ball is just you know, it's a big outfit here, so need to hit a little harder. But yeah, it's good to get one to day. So considering it is such a large outfit. Have you learned that right field just not really your friend here? Yeah, not this series. So
it's definitely hot with the pitching today. See and Gavin Stone his first time playing here. How impressive was he with how he handled it. There's a little traffic later on his outing, which just how he was able to settle it. Yeah, he pitched really well. Was getting a lot of you know, weak contact. I was punching guys out. He was looking really good early. I thought he was going to go at the distance. But
yeah, I just got a little squirrely in the sixth inning. But you know that happens, you know, it's ran out of gas or whatever. But he looks really strong the whole day. It's always challenging to play here, just considering the altitude and things. But considering how you all played in these four games series, how important was it to take this one and win the series against the Rockies? Yeah, it's uh, you know it take
three or four on the road. We need everyone we can get. You know, guess yesterday I sweaked away from us a little bit, but you know, come back out and get a w today. As you know, it's good for us all rightly, ready to get back home? Yes, all right, Well, congratulations on the wain in the win of the series. So thank you some much. All right, Dodgers back home tonight to take on the Anaheim Angels, Dodgers fans and hamps. You're listening and experience
by downloading the iHeartRadio app and listening to Dodgers Baseball and HD. It's all powered by LA Care Health Plan serving all Angelinos Lacare dot org. Still to come here on Dodgers on Deck, we'll preview this bitching matchup. David Bes say he'll go one on one with Freddie Freeman. But up next we'll get you an injury report and we'll hear from the manager, Dave Roberts. It's Dodgers and Angels on this Friday night. First pitch is seven ten. I'm
Tim Kasi's Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network. This is Morongo Casino Dodgers hunting on your home for LA Dodgers Baseball. Maronggo Casino. Dodgers on Deck continues as we lead you up to first pitch, Dodgers and the Angels. Dodgers start the night first place in the NLS, a nine game lead, in the Division. Marago Casino Resort and Spa. A Grand Slam for good Times landed
nag Patrick Sanderbal the pitching matchup, first pitch set for sevent ten. He's the LA Dodgers Injury Report present of i UCLA Healthy Official Medical partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Mookie Bets on the IL with the fractured left hand, Yoshinobu Yamamoto with a right tricep tightness, Walker Buehler on the iel with the sore hit. Michael Grove on the IEL with the lat soreness. Max Munsey has been moved to the sixty day IL. He is now not eligible to
come off the injury list until after the All Star break. He's doing baseball activities, but it has been a slow rehab for Max Munsey. Clayton Kershaw, Joe Kelly Brusdar Graderol Ryan Brasier, Tony Gonsolin, Dust may All on the sixty day IL. Kyle Hurt was activated off the injured list, the Dodger pitcher the reliever, but was sent down to Triple A, Oklahoma City,
where he had been doing minor league rehab assignments. All right, let's head back out to the stadium and check in with the Dodger skipper Dave. Do you think the questions for Dave Dave? Can you just describe Dave? Can you talk about the pressure in the dugouts with Dave Roberts is nacked? Is this going to be a spot start for now or are you guys thinking about Yeah, I think we'll see how it goes. We we have an off day on Sunday, and so you know, we'll see how it goes.
But Landin has comed in and filled in admirably, and we've got some other guys down today, so it'll be a good opportunity for Landing tonight. What's Walker going to be doing? Is he going to stick around with you
guys or what's the plat So we haven't figured that one out completely. I think with Walker, it's sort of trying to figure out who he is as a pitcher right now, where his body is at, and so it's sort of you know, he's a lot heavier and stronger than he was before his surgery, so to kind of figure out how his body's moving related to the
pitch mechanics and delivery. So it's going to be a process and we haven't kind of finalized sort of where this is going to take place, so it's going to be kind of obviously we'll have our hands and things, but it might be an off site thing or internal I'm not sure yet, or combo do if you guys have now long dominated the Freeway Series against the Angels and compared to last year, show hanging now is sitting up in bloom giving you
guys more reinforcements. What's your overall thoughts on him going against this former team? Is that does that warrant any extra conversation between you and him? Certainly doesn't warrant any extra conversation. I think that's he's very grateful of his time in Anaheim. I think he's certainly happy here. I think it's one of those things that he's excited to get here this day, to get here, to get it over with because I think he just wants to play baseball.
So it's kind of when you're sho hey Otani. These questions certainly happened, and he impacted a lot of fans, you know, so from the come North a little bit, it was it's a big deal, But I'm sure he just wants to play a baseball game, no doubt about that. Shoiotani taking on his former team in which he spent six seasons, all the way down in Orange County and Dave Roberts down the dugout brought to you by Service Titan. Dave Roberts, this is a tight in his own right. He's

Drone show after the game tonight. First pitch is seven ten. I'm Tim Kates's Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network. This is Marongo Casino, Dodgers on Deck on your home for the Blue all season Law Law Dodgers and Angels on this Friday night. Dodgers first place atop the NL West, looking to keep the winning going after taking three or four in Denver Landon NAK, Patrick Sanderbal the pitching matchup. First pitch coming up. Joining Tim Kates on Dodgers on Deck.
I accept everybody for who they are This is Dodger insider David Basse and David now joins us from Dodgers Dandy before this series opener a brief two game series against the Anaheim Angels, and it's show Hey Otani DV. Facing his former teammates, Yeah and it's interesting. Otani told reporters in Denver tim that this series is not going to mean as much to him as far as emotions go, than the emotions he'll feel when the Dodgers go to Angels Stadium later
in this season. He did also revealed that he does keep tabs with the Angels to see where they're at in the standings, and one player that he singled out amongst all the other former teammates wearing red was Logan o'hapi, the Angels catcher. Obviously, Ohapi caught o'tani starts last year, but he does like to hear things about Logan o'happy and does like hearing good things about him.
So he didn't mention anybody else by name, but he singled out Logan o'happy as one of them and certainly is looking forward to playing at the Big A. That's where he said it will feel a little bit more emotional coming off this series in Colorado DV. We've got pastly midway point here at June, and what a month that's been for Freddie Freeman. It really has. And look, Freddie has not had that bad of a year, despite what
he'll tell tell you. He's been treading water in his words, but he always talks about when your lows are low, don't let him be too low, hover around the two to eighty two to ninety mark. And that's what he was doing the first two months of the season. But now in the month of June, he's slugging almost seven hundred and his batting average is three
point fifty four. I thought it was indicative of the way he's been seeing the ball in that six or in that five walk game the first game of that series in Denver, because I think back to what Nomar garcia Paro was telling us before the Dodgers went to Denver and corse Field. He said, a slump is when a hitter does not have the feel for the fastball and he's not seen the ball well and not allowing it to travel deep in the
strike zone. Well, show Hey Otani and Freddie Freeman, Freddy the entire month of June has been doing that and no better way to show that by having a career night five walks the first game at course Field. David is driven by the Ford Here he's America's best selling truck for forty seven years and counting. Ford gives you freedom of choice gas hybrid electric head of your Southern California forty dealers and find yours Ford F Series built tough landon knack. The
twenty six year old right hander dv gets called up. He'll get the start tonight, his fifth start in the big leagues, and he's pitched pretty well in his time up here. He really has. Look, it wasn't because his performance being the reason why he was sent down. It was just a numbers game. The Dodgers had a lot of starters, especially when they got Walker Buehler back. But all of a sudden, now Bueller's on the il and Yamamoto is out for an undisclosed amount of time. So the Dodgers can't
continue to go to the bullpen game just to create extra off days. And look, they want to give Glass now an extra off day. He's going to get one tomorrow. But this is the right move to have Land and next start tonight and Austin Barnes will do the catching, and Austin Barnes will be in the lineup again. His former battery mate with Team Mexico in the
World Baseball Classic. Patrick Sandoval went out of his way that entire tournament, praising the way Austin Barnes caught him after really having no relationship with him before. So Barnes versus Sandoval round one after the World Baseball Classic tonight. That's interesting, DV. Austin Barnes catching, So no Will Smith in the lineup
tonight? Is everything? Okay, Everything's okay. The Dodgers just came back from a four game series at Corsfield, and, as Andre Ethier told us before the game yesterday, a three game series is not delightful at Corsfield and the high altitude. But a four game series can be really taxing on the body. And what position is more taxing than catching? So Dave Roberts giving Will Smith a breather before the night game tomorrow night against the Angels. Good
to know, just a breather for Will Smith, DV. We appreciate it. We'll check with you in just a little bit here on Dodgers on You'll go one on one with Freddy Freeman. That's coming up in about fifteen minutes. Coming up next year on Marongo Casino Dodgers on Deck, though, we'll get you your Dodgers Magical moment leading up to Dodgers and Angels on this Friday night, first of two the Freeway Series from Dodger Stadium, first pitch and

Bitch Magical presented by Hawby Hot Times. Welcome back to July fifteenth, twenty twenty two. So just a little less than two years ago, Dodgers were in Anaheim on a hot July night to take on the Angels. In his final start before the All Star Game, Clayton Kershaw was near perfect. Taylor Ward is on deck, Trout not playing tonight. The one to two call,
straight three on the outside corner. Kershaw's first strikeout of the game, and it's against show Hey o'tani blind one to Wright and hands are Alberta. There's a shot. What a play by Trey Turner picks it up, throws the first it dead sund the third spectacular defensive play turned in by the Dodger infield, first Justin Turner, then hands are alberto and now Trey Turner keeping the perfect game intact for Clayton Kershaw. What a play. This crowd standing
is won. One ball, bike's the pitch tong on and miss strike pray strikeout number six. Pershaw is perfect through seven. Here's a two to one line drive base hit. There it go, no hit or done. Perfect game is done. And now rang Guifo will arrive at second base with a double, a clean scorching line drive off the bat of Luis Ranguefo, and dreams of a perfect game are over, and now a standing ovation for Clayton Kershaw. Luis or Anifo in the eighth inning ends the perfect game for Clayton
Kershaw. It was just a few outs away from a perfect game on that hot July ninth. July fifteenth, twenty twenty two. It's time to take that next big step. Classes can fill up quickly, so enrolled today and I can go to college dot com. Now joined by David Bassey. Here's LA Dodgers broadcaster and World Series champion Dodger Rick Monday. Rick, it's great to be reunited at Dodgers Stadium with
you. The heat has not led up here in southern California for you or the team. A nice to see you, David. Evidently you didn't realize that the ball club was actually leaving LA and went to Denver for four games. But it is nice to see you, and my goodness, I mean you're in a coat and tie today, so you're doing dual duty of both radio and television tonight. As long as I get the approval on the not from Rick Monday, I'm good to go. Well, you look solid.
He By the way, I want to congratulate you because a number of years ago we had to have a tieing how to tie a tie session if you will, and you've done a magnificent job. I might add on the NOTT on your tie. I appreciate that, and that was not only my biggest accomplishment today. Rick I'd beat Bobby Miller in a game of pig out in Huntington Beach. We were at a clothing store together. They had a full
court basketball court. I brought Bobby, Gavin Stone, and Blake Trannon down and we all played a game of pig together, and yours truly was the last one standing. Is that right? So? But you did not go one on one with a six foot five Bobby Miller, No, I did not. I didn't want to hurt him. He's got a pitch, hey, but the Dodgers have land and knack on the mound today. He's one of these new wave pitchers like Bobby Miller and Gavin Stone that will say hello
to you on start day. I did not respond, yeah, well, you don't know surprise. And sometimes when we get a pitcher that's going to pitch that day and they say hello, the first thing is is it mistaken identity? Does he have a twin brother? You know who used to do that? Though? Every day Don Sutton. Don Sutton would not only say hello. Don Sutton would actually hold a one on one or one on five with the print media the day he was going to pitch, and he would
do it right in front of his lockers. So he would actually have, if you will, a spontaneous press conference the day he was going to pitch. Hey, it must have worked. He went to the Hall of Fame. Yeah, it did work because a lot of starting pitchers, you don't say hello to them that day, to say hello to him twice the next day. Yeah, So I've been traumatized covering Kershaw for the majority of his
career. And you know how he acts on start day. Yeah, you don't even you don't even look at him on the day he's going to pitch. But everybody psykes it up a little bit differently, and some are able to compartmentalize it, if you will. The same way with a hitter, if they're in a slump, they don't necessarily want to ab seen in public, and b don't want to be interviewed or talk. We just leave them alone. Hey, two Dodger hitters that are out of their slumps. Otani
was in a real one for about twenty five games. But he has come out of it, and Freddie Freeman has warmed up in the month of June. Yeah, he has. There's no question about it. How about the fact that the show, Hey, Otani now in the leadof spots, hitting four forty four since the absence, in a big absence by Mooky Bentz. And you know, we can only wish that he gets healthy. It's it's going to be time in order for the bones to heal in his left hand.
But in the four games, Otani is eight for eighteen with two home runs and seven runs back at end. That's not bad for a leadoff hitter. No, it's not. And it doesn't seem like he's changed his approach that much being the leadoff hitter. No, no, he's just a paint and rear in for any picture, doesn't matter if it's a starter or a reliever. And you start to look at the found a note on Freddy Freeman today. If you go back the last three years now, you know he
has the second highest batting average in baseball. Luisa Rise is the only one that's even higher the last three years now, Freddy Freeman hitting at three twenty three, and his bat has come alive, as as a couple of other ones. And the biggest one that we noted was Chris Taylor, and good for him because hard work has paid off. Frustration is now kind of flourishing.
A little bit more in a post positive stance for Chris Taylor, and he's batting in the eight spot tonight, blanket second base again against the left hander as Patrick Sandoval is going for the Angels as they come up from Anaheim. Yeah, I heard you during the broadcast yesterday, Rick, you were really celebrating the fact that Chris Taylor had his first multi hit game since last September. It looks like the same swing and approach. Is there something that
you're noticing that's different. I don't think the swing is as much as a nuppercut swing, and some of the numbers on Chris Taylor not going into him. They're negative numbers, and I'd rather talk about a positive stance. I'm not only seeing a better swing right now, but you can tell he's got more confidence right now too, because he understands that he's able to make contact much better because with two strikes that has been really problematic for Chris Taylor.
How problematic, Well, he's gone thirty seven consecutive games without a base hit with two strikes. Did not have two strikes on him in any of the accounts that he had in yesterday's Bowl game, So I think with the additional now of knowing he can make more consistent contract I'm just seeing a much more positive sign with confidence from Chris Taylor. Hopefully he can continue that confidence building tonight against Patrick Sandoval. Rick, maybe will you and me will play some
pig one. Well, you'll be on TV during the during the game itself, so you'll be down really from Doug outside, so you can carry on conversations with you will just let Chris knows that. Hey, look, we realize that your you know, your confidences is really kind of flourished, So go up and have a good time. Okay, sounds good. I'll relay the message to throw you out in a New York minute. I have no doubt about it. Good to see you again. Thanks Rick. Not the
first time I've been thrown out of any dugout. It won't be the last either. We'll send it back to the studio Tim, all right, Thanks lot, guys. David and now what will likely be vassy fielding insults from a Dodger player. It's an engagement of in dear. This is high
and tight. Sometimes we all need somebody to lean on, and yesterday Freddie Freeman leaned on Key k Hernandez and his first base coach Clayton McCullough. Freddy, you can lean on me anytime. I appreciate that. That was a good that's a good lead in to the term of your nice one, David. Yeah, that's that's not as easy as people think. Playing four games at course Field. Yeah, you know, I've obviously never dealt with that before. But usually it's a three game series you can get through. It's
usually night games too. But our first day there, of the four days, it was a really hot one is in that for nineties. Next two days are okay, but it just takes a twenty body. You're just not used to the altitude. But the fourth day obviously day game, and it was in about low nineties there too, and long four days. We're in
a tough stretch of twelve in a row. My last that bat, you know, there's you can sniff it hit and smell it hit sometimes and I emptied the tank and obviously emptying it all the way and I need a little helps back to the first base. The last Dodger player I heard that went to the oxygen mask was reliever JP Howe. So two lefties going to the tank. Yeah, but there's actually a few guys that went to the tank just don't know. You don't hear about it. During that series we had,
we scored a few runs. A lot of guys scored goal from first to home. It's mostly the outfielder that's a like it's a little little bit of running the right field and back. So that one game Jay played, he scored from first and then he kept running back and forth that he was a little tired too. So I'm not gonna throw some people out there, but there's a few other guys that took some mosters, not just me. Hey, Freddie, it's okay, nothing to be worried about. The biggest
thing is Freddie Freeman's in the starting lineup today. Well you thought that was what did you think? No way, no way. I got a day off on Sunday? Yeah, what are days off? What are days off? Freddy had five walks in the first game at Corus Field. Is that indicative of how well you're seeing the ball? Well? I would actually beg to differ on that. I had about six or seven pitches to hit and foul them off. So I obviously I can critique myself more than anybody in
this earth will critique me. But I had some pitches of hit, but I was ultimately able to lead to walks and not get myself out. But the swing has been better off the last you know, three or four weeks, but still some cut swings here and there, but ultimately better swings each day. Wow, Freddie, that was not the answer I was expecting. You are so hard on yourself. How do you allow yourself to enjoy the fruits of your labor? I don't. I think if you ask my wife,
it ever happens. I just, yeah, I expect a lot of myself. But yeah, maybe maybe when I'm done playing playing, I'll and I'll look back. But as I'm in it, yeah, it's usually never good enough. Freddy, you grew up in Orange County. Obviously the Angels were your team. Do you get excited wearing this uniform in a Freeway series? I get excited, Yeah, be home and playing in front of my family pretty much every single day, like my dad's gonna be coming tonight.
So that's the cool thing. What's cool to me is playing these games and I get to see Garrett Andrew walk on the field, which I just saw him about ten minutes ago, so he's obviously my favorite player growing up, so being able to come here and see him, and you know, that's what's so enjoyable for me, and being home. Obviously I didn't grow up a Dodgers fan because I grew up ten minutes from Angel Stadium. But I think we're all Dodger fans now. So we've got to beat the Angels.
Yeah, no doubt. And Charlie's here too, your dad, Charlie, and nobody cares about course fielding the Freeman family, No, none of them did. The three year olds were opening up fight early. We played some hide and see he got the house. We did some stuff and then obviously came here and started throwing at Charlie and doing that, and yeah, they don't care about that. Yeah, Freddy's got a lather like it's the seventh inning of the game already. I know, we just we just threw two
buckets. I did my work out here. I'm about to go hit somem in the cage. So about six hours straight hopefully of good stuff. All right. You know there's one other Dizzy related song, the Goo Goo Dolls. Dizzy. Jeez, David, let's just end this thing, okay, Yeah, it sounds good. Thanks for all right. No game on Sunday, just the games tonight and tomorrow night before heading off to the Windy City. The meantime, it's landon Neck getting another opportunity. The twenty six year old will make his fifth appearance for the Dodgers.
The right hander, when he's been on the mound for LA has been pretty good. Yeah, three starts in April, one start also in the month of May. Overall ten starts in at triple A. So Nack could possibly stretch it out a little bit in this ball game. He's handled left. He's very well, just a one forty six batting average against Dodgers. Need
to be very cognizant of of speed pitches against Patrick Sandoval. The reason is the last two years, he's thrown the second highest percentage of off speed pitches of any pitcher in baseball. He also gets that fastball hit and hit often, so he's the guy's going to move the ball around, and that off speed pitch is going to be a big weapon for Sandoval. He has had four prior starts against the Dodgers. He is zero in three with a five
to eighty nine earned run average. So those will be the starting pitchers tonight and the Dodgers looking for a little length out of Land and Knack. He's had ten appearances and nine starts in Triple A for Oklahoma City, but when he's been in the big leagues over his four prior appearances, opponent's only hitting one eighty nine against him. He's done a good job in that area and also with runners in scoring position below a one hundred average. The longer he
goes, the better off. The Dodgers' bullpen is going to be Dodgers and the Angels sand the ball against Knack. That's the pitching matchup we're getting sent for this ballgame here at a beautiful Friday night at Dodgers Stadium. Tim it is a beautiful night warm outside and afterwards a drone show, hopefully a happy drone show where all you Dodger fans is. The Dodgers look to keep the winning going.
