Nelson out at the Galpinmotors Broadcast booth. Well, last night, the Dodgers took the early lead, then a friendly face he took it right back for the Texas Rangers. Bottom of the first, standing second batter facing John Gray at three to two slider, Show Hey Otani said, so long, another full count for John Gray. Oh Tani trills the ball, right field tosses the bat man watches it. Five back to back games with a home run

for show Hey old Tani. That's number seventeen four, number seventeen and the Dodgers have the early lead four hundred and thirty two feet for show Hey on Tani, his seventeenth of the season. That's the top tier play of the game. Sponsored by Arco Quality, top tier gas for les Dodgers with the early one to nothing lead against John Gray. Meanwhile, Walker Buehler he'd go

four scoreless innings. In the fifth, things would unravel a bit for the young right hander as Walker Buehler got an r ground out to start off the top of the fifth, then a single dissenter in air on Bigio had runners on base for former Dodger Corey Seger. So Buehler will try again. He comes home in the year right field and crush Corey Seeger announces his return to Dodger Stadium, sending a ball halfway up the Pavilion. That's his fourteenth home

run of the year. It flips the scoreboard and now Texas is ahead three to one. Corey Seger a three to two fastball down the middle of the plates. After fouling off back to back cutters and sliders, she takes Walker bueher Deep a three run home run, his fourteenth of the season. As the Texas Rangers take a three to one lead. The Dodgers in the ninth in and put together a little bit of a rally. Runners on base for Jason Hayward. Yates exhales and fires to Hayward, who swings and line's a

base hit right center field gap cut off by Tavara's deep bubbles. It here comes Smith, stop sign held up for Dino Ebol. Pot has just running through it to throw home the tag they got him. I has ran through the stop sign. He paid no attention to Dino Ebl who had his hands held up. Jason Hayward the double the rights centator. Will Smith scored and he Popeads was given the stop sign, but he ran through it from dino Ebl and he gets thrown out at home to end the game. The Dodgers

falls short. They lose to the Texas Rangers last night, three to two. As Walker Buehler gets tagged with the loss. He's now one and four on this season. The Dodgers fall to forty two and twenty seven overall. Tonight's the rubber game of this three game series. Michael Grove is the opener. Don't expect him to be out there too long. Ryan Yarborough, we'll

get a bulk of the innings. First pitch coming up at seven to ten, and with more we head out to the gapin Motors Broadcast booth as we say hello to Rick Monday, Steven Nelson, Guys, thank you ta. We're approaching the series finale between the Dodgers and the Rangers. Series on the line. Well, last night's game ending in thrilling but also heartbreaking fashion for

the Dodgers. They had the tying runs on base with two down in the ninth inning and a rookie mistake by Andy Pajez on the bass pass, saying after the game that he just did not pick up dino ebol and did not see the stop sign, ultimately running through it and getting tagged out at home plate. You know I've said it, and I would continue to say it because I've gone through it. This is a very difficult classroom to go through as a young player at the major league level. Regardless of the number of

games that you have played at the minor league level. This is a different game and a different game. Also from a standpoint is as a runner, you lose sight of the fact that on that particular play, the Texas Rangers executed a cutoff in relay. Absolutely textbook and that's the reason it was a

bang bang play at home plate. I will also say is that you know, if you're looking upon is he also made a base running mistake in New York already at SACA base ground Ball hit the shortstop was thrown out trying to advance the third when he's already in scoring positions. So those are the little things growing pains. Yes, and it hurts a little bit more, and there's nobody feels any worse than he does, but especially if you're ending the

game on those circumstances. The other part about ending the game, I think that rule at home played on if the runner has a lane or does not have a lane is the most misunderstood rule in baseball, and I don't think majority of the players really understand do you have to have a complete open spot on the baseline, because the baseline was actually blocked at that particular moment. With Paez specifically, you know, he said a lot of the right things

after the game as well. You talk about this is the toughest classroom. He said, the only way for me to learn is to make mistakes like this, and that's tough. It's embarrassing, it bums you out, it makes you angry, it does all those things. But in the learning curve, the growth trajectory Poe has is on. Ultimately, this happening in early June is a good thing for him and the Dodgers has been I talked to Dino before the game yesterday. He has been working so diligently on improving the

slide that was what happened in New York. He's had some really bad slides this year. So he's putting in the work and keeping that front foot down. So these are all things in his progression, his development as a big leaguer at the big league level in his rookie year. Yeah, you're going to have mistakes and you're gonna make them. You know. The Dodgers gave up an additional run because of an air in one particular inning too. But

this is not a finger pointing contest. Now, this is a team contest, and this team is going to get better and better because of decisions that are going to be made better and better. And the reason why we spend this first segment talking about it is because again we are looking at this team throughout the year, through the postseason. Lens and Andy Poi has looks like a player who's going to be a major contributor on the Dodgers road to the

postseason. And these are the lessons that this team and this player in particular, specifically in this instance, has to learn and hopefully will learn. After last night, when we come back, we'll talk about the series finals on the pitching matchup Michael Lorenzen, an Orange County kid for the Rangers and Michael

Grove opening a bullpen game for the Dodgers. I'm Tim Kas's Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network is Lorono Casino, Dodgers On, Dodgers on Deck. First pitch coming up at seventeen. This is the Otanians rewind another full

count for John Gray. Otani drills the ball right field, tosses the bat man watches it fine. Back to back games with a home run for Show Hey Old Tani. That's number seventeen four, number seventeen, and the Dodgers have the early lead. Showey Otani with the home run in the first inning.

That's it O e N dot Com. This is Kirsten's Corner with Kirston Watson and Kirston now joins just from the ravine which has been buzzing all night leading up to first pitch coming up at seven ten.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto Bobblehead Night. Did you get one, Kirston? I sure did. It's happening there we knew, okay, So showy Otani's bobblehead Night lines down the street insane. It's kind of like that tonight as well. And I'm being on like it's there. The gates opened a little bit earlier today, even like four hours ahead of the game time. There have been lines everywhere. So there's a lot of excitement. And even with talking to Yoshinobu, he was really funny. He was saying, I was like, do

you like this bobblehead, Like, what are your thoughts on it? What is it one of your favorites? And he goes, it's really good. He said it was really good. He said that it looks just like him. He said all of his friends back at home are like begging for him to send some back. So and he said that he was just really happy that fans showed up. It's like there's a line down the door, like down the street. And he goes, oh, I'm just happy they're here.

I said, what, of course they're here. It's your first step one ever. So he's excited about it, and he has become a little collector himself, so he really likes it. I can see the fear. You know, you have a bobblehead, you're a musician, nobody shows up. It's though you never know, Yeah, you don't want that to happened. I appreciate how humble he is. I can say that absolutely he gets pushed back. That means Michael Grove gets to start tonight, and Grovey Grove

at one point was the starter coming through the Dodger pharm system. But don't expect him out very long tonight. Yeah, you know, it's kind of crazy to think that he has truly now stepped into this role in the bullpen, in a high leverage role at that. So he is someone who we've seen whenever he's typically taken the mount I guess now in years past here at Dodge Tatum, it's been as a starter or even as a guy maybe there was an opener he'd come in behind them. But he's gonna get the start

today. He's not as built up as even early in this season he was, so Dave said it's likely only going to be one inning from him and then they'll obviously see depending on Mitch Nixon matching things like that, but Ryan Yarborough will likely take down the bulk of this game. So that's the plan. We'll see kind of how exactly it shapes out, but Michael Grove likely

one inning and then we'll see Yarborough take the bulk of it. Hope of the Dodgers can get out of it with a series win tonight in this three games set, and then the Royals come to town tomorrow night. Kirsten, we appreciate it. Glad you got the bobblehead. Dodger fans and hands are listening experience by downloading the iHeartRadio app and listening in HD. On Dodgers on Deck, we'll dive deeper to this pitchy matchup. David Basago is one on one with Ron Rennicky Up NEXTO, we'll get you an injury report and we'll hear from Dodger manager Dave Roberts. It's the Dodgers and Rangers on this Thursday. First pitch is seven ten. I'm Tim Kats's Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network. This is Wrongo Casino Dodgers hunting on your home for LA Dodgers Baseball. you up to first pitch on this Thursday night. Yo, should you have a moto Bobblehead night Dodgers and Rangers wrapping up this series wrong, go Casino Resort and spy a Grand Slam for good times. Michael Grove is the opener. Michael Lorenzen will go for the Rangers first pitch at seven ten. This it's the LA Dodgers Injury Report presented by UCLA Healthy, Official medical partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Max Munsey on the iel at the oldbleaque injury.

Joe Kelly on the iel with his shoulder strain. Ryan Brazier on the iel at the right calf strain. Bobby Miller is pitching in Oklahoma City in his final rehab start tonight. Kyle hurt shoulder inflammation. He has pitched in several games in relief for Oklahoma City as well out of the bullpen. Clayton Kershaw through a three inning SIM game today. If he checks out of that, he'll go in a minor league rehab assignment start the process of building back up.

Bruce Dark gratteral Tony Gonsolin estin May also on the sixty day, I L all right, let's have back out to Dodger Stadium and check out with the Dodger skipper. The questions for Dave, Dave, can you just describe Dave. Can you talk about the pressure in the dugouts with Dave Roberts. Yeah, Michael's obviously starting, and uh, he's going to open. It's going to be shorter. I don't see it going you know, one plus and then I can see Ryan Yarborough taking the bulk of the game, and

then we'll sort of mix and match. But I'm just not sure when we deploy the guys. So with Clayton Kershaw during another SIM game today, just how have you seen your continue to progress over your takeaways from this? Adding today it was good three innings today, Uh, a couple of our guys. We brought up another guy from Rancho. I think I thought the stuff was good. Obviously, it's hard to kind of, you know, get

as much out of it because there's not a lot of adrenaline. So hopefully we'll check on the next couple of days, and hopefully the next progression is he's pitching in a game, in a rehab game, and his progression there starts then be a ranch that would most likely be a Rancho. Yes, is he more advanced than you kind of expected? Much further along, much further along, and you know he's unique in his body, his mentality, his mindset, the work ethic and all that. And obviously doctor Elatross did

a great job, and so he's well beyond where I personally expected. How does that, I guess, I don't know if it impacts rotation or how are you going to have to plan? Just knowing that he will be ready sooner you've got Bobby likely taken his last rehab start. It's like, what

does that look like? You know? I think that where he's at, you know, we still got a good bit of time, you know, so I think that Unfortunately, a lot I think is going to change, whether it's we need to give guys a blow or something unforeseen does happen. But obviously, when he's ready, we'll we'll plug him in. All right. There's Dave Roberts talking about Clayton Kershaw the Three Inning SIM game today, and again, this is gonna be a slow play for Clayton Kershaw. He's

not returning anytime soon. He'll start some rehabit assignments with Rancho hopefully the next step after checking out. Okay, from this SIM game brought to you by Service Titan. Dave Roberts is a Titan in his own right. He's got a plan before his team hits the field. You need one for your growing contracting business too. Let Service Titan help you implement it. check out what David Vatt says. We'd lead you up to first pitch Dodgers and Rangers. I'm Tim Kates. It's Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network. This is a Wrongo Casino, Dodgers on debt on your home for the Blue All season Low Dodgers and Rangers wrap up this three game set. Michael Gerol the opener, Michael Lorenza at a Calta Fullerton. We'll get the start for Texas. First pitch coming up at sevent ten. Joining Tim Kats on Dodgers on

Deck, I accept everybody for who they are. This is Dodger insider David Bassi. All right, d v's Game two for young Bigio. The Dodgers pick up yesterday from the Toronto Blue Jays. Kind of take us through what's

the thinking of having him on this team? Well, number one, first and foremost, Max Munsey, from what I'm told, is not returning for weeks, and the Dodgers want to try to solidify the bottom third of their order to try to get it to turn over, so Mookie Beds and show Hey O Tani and Freddie Freeman can have more chances with runners on base in the middle of the game, and Cavin Bigio the batting average obviously doesn't stand out as stellar, but the one thing that does stand out, especially in

this saber metric world we live in, is the on base percentage. So he does get on base by walking. I know the Blue Jays would have liked to have seen him swing the bat more. The Dodgers obviously will work with him. He had some good at bats last night, and that's the biggest thing why Calvin Bigio gets his second straight start since being acquired yesterday morning. David is driven by a Ford F Series, America's best selling truck for

forty seven years in counting. Ford gives you the freedom of choice gas hybrid electric head of your Southern California dealers today and find yours Ford F Series built Tough Clayton Kershaw Tough Guy. David coming back from shoulder surgery three sim game today. There on the mount of Dodger stadium. What's the takeaway from that?

Yeah, last week he threw two innings at Rancho Cuca Manga in a simulated game, and today he took it another inning further three innings today, and I guess the biggest victory is he did not give up a home run to Chris Taylor, because the first time we saw that, he did give up a home run to Chris Taylor. Taylor, Miguel Rojas and another minor league player the Dodgers invited to face Kershaw where the hitters today and look, he was throwing eighty eight to eighty nine miles an hour. He seems to

be trying to work on the field for a change up. He has said forever he just can't throw it. We'll see whether or not this time off is forcing him to take more time to figure out the change up. He still won't fully commit to it, so we'll see where it goes when he comes back. But just think about this tim in the same type of parallels to spring training, a pitcher usually gets six starts, so you know, he went from two innings to three innings. The next time it'll be four

innings. David, Yesha, you had chance to catch up with Corey Seeger here on Dodgers on Deck. A great interview is you were here covering the team, traveling with the team when he got called up, and I've seen him really mature in front of your eyes as a baseball player, as a man goes to the Texas Rangers. What did you take away from your conversation yesterday? Well, first and foremost, he did take in the fans appreciation

for him the first night after that video highlight montage number two. I always wondered a lot of those Dodger players from twenty fifteen to twenty twenty one which one they believed to be the best team they played on, and Seeger being the two time World Series champion and World Series MVP twice, I asked him what was the best Dodger team he played on, and without hesitation, he

said twenty seventeen, and he said how close that group was. Another part of the interview that I thought was interesting as he was being very candid about beating the Astros last year in seven games of the ALCS and he felt like he was carrying the torch for that twenty seventeen Dodgers team, and he he did say He got many texts from his former twenty seventeen teammates after they did

beat the Astros, so I appreciated that as well. Dave. Twenty four hours after the running through the stop sign, the old California role there to get thrown out at home by the Rangers last night, Andy pat has any fallout, and he talked about that today in the clubhouse. Yeah, a lot of not on in the clubhouse. But Ron Rennicky and Dino Ebol we're talking about it. Ron Renicky obviously taught Dino Ebol a lot about coaching third

base. And Ron's gonna join us a little bit later and explain just what went right, what went wrong in last night's play. All right, time now to pick the ponies. It is the Sana Anita Derby. Here on Dodgers on Deck. We're gonna pick tomorrow's first race at San Anita Dam. It is currently seven horses, they've had a scratch already, seven horses, five furlongs on the turf. Start your future at a California community college. Financial Land is available to help you with tuition, books, and sometimes even the rent. It's time to take that next big step. Classes can fill up quickly, so enroll today and I can go to college dot com and now joined by David Bass

saying, here's LA Dodgers broadcaster and World Series Champion Dodger Rick Monday. Well, Rick Monday, being a former player and a longtime broadcaster, has a better understanding of the Major League Baseball rule book than most anybody I've come in contact with outside of umpires. Rick, I feel like you don't even have the answer to catchers blocking the plate and making a tag like we saw last night. David I said it last night, I have said it for years,

and I will reiterate it right now. The catchers giving the runner a clear lane. That's the rule in the rule book, A clear lane, a clear path, if you will, I personally believe it's the most misunderstood rule in Major League Baseball. Here's why. What is a clear lane on the catcher? Because last night's play and kudo's by the way to the Texas Rangers, because it was a perfectly executed cut off and relay from the outfield

after the ball had been bobbled. So instead of the tying run that began, DEAs being able to score who ran through the stop sign of Dino Evil. But now let's concentrate on what happened at home plate. If you look at the catcher on that play, on the replay, and it was him doing the catching, excellent catcher, he had one foot in foul territory. He had one foot in fair territory. The reason I mentioned that is that home plate is in fair territory. If you look at it, home plate's

in fair territory. So if the catcher has one foot in fair territory and one foot in foul territory, that blocks the direct path. In other words, he's straddling the baseline. Where is the clear path. That's the part that I don't understand. I thought that you had to be either in front or if you're in the act of fielding the ball or making the tag. But he's set up to receive the throw with one foot here and one foot there fair territory and foul territory. And it was a bang bang play.

But again it goes back. I don't think the rule would have been overturned, but I think overall, since it's an inception, that rule itself, and I've said it over and over, it's the most misunderstood rule in baseball. Rick When you look at that play last night, when Jonah him actually has the ball in his glove, is he allowed to block the plate? Do we know that? It's a good question if you're going to be making

the tag. And my understanding of the rule is if you're in the act of receiving the ball to make the play, but can you block it in order to receive the ball. That's where he's sent up to me. That was the big question mark to begin with, because if I'm straddling the baseline again, home plate is in fair territory, and if I'm the catcher and I have my right foot and fair territory in my left foot in foul territory, am I not blocking the plate because I'm straddling the baseline. Yeah,

you got your foot in front of the plate. So the runner has to And I've said this too, is that I think there's going to be it's protecting the catcher, which I'm all in favor of trying to protect the players and keep them healthy and on the field. But I think a runner is going to have to get maybe injured here there to really look at it because the runner has to then compensate at the last second. I just don't understand the rule itself. I've not received a clear definition of the rule. I've

asked two different umpires and you kind of get different interpretations. It's a tough play there's no question about it. But again I don't fully understand it even though you read the rule book. All right, Rake, here's another question that was posed to me by a listener. Can the runner run the catcher over if he has received the ball and is blocking the plate. There's going to be times that, yeah, that if a catcher is catching the balls

for exemp. For example, you catch the ball in front of infair territory right, so you're in front of the third base foul line, and if the catcher now turns to make the tag and a runner is not sliding, there's going to be a collision. Yes, you can make contact. I understand is to be able to protect the catcher, but the catcher cannot take liberties and put the runner into harmsway either speaking up taking punishment as a catcher.

Your dandy old roommate is at Dodger Stadium tonight. Stevie Yaeger was here drop by. He's going to entertain the troops in one of the sweets here tonight, my dandy little roomy. This is a big date actually in Dodger history because if you look at this date nineteen seventy three, it was the first game of a record setting infield of Davy Lope, Steve Garvin, Ron Say, and Bill Russell. Bill Russell, by the way, they were together for eight and a half years. It was on this date today they

played their first game together. Rick, thanks a lot, so you turned into history. Buff. Hey, thanks a lot. Proud of you. Hey, thank you appreciate him. I'll get out of here our times. be vast a fielding insults from a Dodger player. It's an engagement of endearment. This is high and tugged. Well. There's only a few people that when they tell me something when it comes to baseball, I say yes, sir, and I'm with one of them right now. One of the best and one of the assistants to Andrew Friedman, that is the great Ron Rennicky Ron, thanks a lot for the time, No problem. I hope you

don't feel that way that I'm going to get on you. No, no, okay, you're like one of my Jiminy crickets to steer me in the right direction. That sounds good. Not only are you one of the best base ball men that we know around here, but also you were a great third base coach and dealing with base runners guys that were a little bit more headier than others. There was a lot of debate about last night, Andy Paez keeping his head down. What did you see on that last play last

night? Well, I came in today and I talked to Dino a little bit. He asked me if I saw the play. And the thing about putting your head down is the fastest you run is when your head is up. I mean, if you watch a track runner, they don't run with their heads down. Yeah, they run with their heads up. So that's one thing we need to correct is when you run, the fastest you're going to be is when your head is up. So if your head's up all the time, which it should be, you should be able to see a

lot more. I know Albert Poolhols, for instance, I know sometimes he would come around third and when he had his head down, he was going home and you had to try to convince him that look, just make sure you picked me up before he dropped that head down. But there really isn't a reason to put your head down other than to see the bass. You drop it quickly to see the base, and then you're back up again because that's the fastest you run. So that probably was the most important thing.

When he's halfway over, you know, towards third, he should pick up Dino, and then once he hits the bag, you should. You should get your head back up because you're gonna run faster, and then pick up Dino again because it could be a late hold. He's halfway down the line. We want to do that to give ourselves more time to see what the throw is going to be into the relay and and and gives him the opportunity if he sees something he doesn't like, to be able to put on the

brakes fast. Ron Rennicky is our guest already teaching us something that you run faster with your head up then your head down. That's not something we all realize. But as far as Paez goes and the teaching lesson last night, when do you approach a player on a play like that that ends the game? Well, Dino actually told me that that Andy came up to him last night after the play said something to him. So I think it's better to

let a player do that in game. If you think it's a situation where it came up, come up again in the game, you can go talk to a guy. But most of the time you just you let it go until after the game, maybe the next day, and that's that's usually works out to be better. But it's really nice when a player does what Andy

did. Came up right away to Dino and said, hey, you know, I ran with my head down, and you know Dino's I mean, he's the best over there, so he's going to stop him plenty of time, and and he certainly knows what he's doing, so you can trust him. And it's just a matter of when you look and then how once you

see that bass, how you pick up that guy again. And as a third base coach ron when you have a player like Marcus Simeon who has a shortstop arm being the relay thrower, is that part of the equation for Dino to hold him up and to understand, Hey, this guy. A lot of guys are not very accurate, as you know, but he's pretty accurate. No, he's really good, and I'm sure that's why Dino put on

the brakes there. He saw him get be in good position to take the throw and didn't like what he saw, and that's why he put up that stop sign. But you're right, it does depend on the arm strength. So a lot of times we look and some of these infielders are going out too far on cutoffs and relays, and once that happens, if they're out

of their comfort zone, then you're more aggressive. Once in a while you get burned on it, but most of the time it's really difficult for them to throw accurately when they get past that point where you know they should be. Do you believe that it's easier now to be more aggressive when you're trying to go first to third or first to home because not a lot of players throw to bases before games. You're correct, The infield isn't taken as much.

I know Clayton has the outfielders out here and when I come in, I'm catching throws at third, I'm catching throws at home before we do our batting practice and stuff. So he brings them out early to make sure they're thrown probably a couple times a homestand so that certainly helps. But you're correct. They don't throw as accurate as they used to, and it's simply because we took in film almost every day. And I don't think that was probably very smart. I know because my arm was sore a lot. So I

think we do it. I think we're smarter now in the workload that we do, but also it probably causes some inaccuracy. Ron, thanks a lot for the time. Like I said, you always teach, and the guys that don't talk a lot, they've got the most knowledge. And Ron Rennicky, a World Series champion player with the Dodgers, a multiple time World Series champion as a coach. Eleven season out of cal State Fullerton, Red's Angels, Tigers, Phillies, and this year at the Rangers, but he didn't sign with Texas until the end of spring training, making his eleven start last time out four to thirty in's two runs, seven hits. He's three and three overall with a three zero five RRA. He's

allowed two or few runs in your career high five straight starts. This is his start against the Dodgers, However, he has pitched in relief against him eight different times. Michael Grove gets to start for the Dodgers four and two, two seventy two ERA, twenty seven year old right hander in his twenty

seventh game this year, his second start as an opener. Overall, he's seven and five in the big leagues with a five forty three r RAY in one hundred and thirty nine strikeouts in fifty one games, including nineteen starts. But they've made him a reliever now, and not just a bulk innings guy. He's the guy who can pitch one inning every couple days here now. So Grove pitched one inning against the Rangers on Tuesday night, gave a one

run on two hits. He'll get the first inning and then turn it over to the left hander Ryan Yarborough, who will be the bulk inning guy. By the way, in bulpen games this year, the Dodgers two and one with a three r ray. Michael Lorenzen Michael Grove. It's the Rangers in town taking on the Dodgers, or fifteen minutes away for first pitch. He's in the game. Our next I'm Tim Kasi's Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network. As we were saying yes wrong Tho Casino Dodgers on Jack on the official home

Head back out to the booth Rick Monday, Steven Nelson, Guys, thanks TC okay. So, Michael Grove going to open or start the game for the Dodgers, his second start of the season. The last time he did that the end of April in Toronto.

So moa, it'll be a bullpen game. That was supposed to be Yoshinobu Yamamoto on his bobblehead night, but the Dodgers after he threw one hundred and six pitches against the Yankees last week, pushing his start back to Saturday against Kansas City, so have seven days in between starts. I noticed two days ago that Yamamoto was throwing in the outfield and basically on flat ground. But what was unusual there were eight members of the Dodgers organization, including the general

manager and both pitching coaches are also a long Yamamoto. At the time, we asked, look, is there anything wrong. He said, no, there's not anything wrong. But indeed his start has been moved back very quickly on Michael Grove. One of the things a couple of things looking at. First of all, he throws high percentage of strikes and I think all speed pitches more than half the time. The other thing is you look at the slider that's been thrown by Michael Grove the last two years. Yeah, seventy

percent had been sliders on the strikeouts. So that has really been his bread and butter. And we'll find out how well he's going to control that slider tonight, regardless of the number of innings that he might pitch. Oh one thing that he and any pitcher who comes into the game tonight for the Dodgers will not have to contend with his old friend Corey Seger. He was initially in the starting lineup for today's finale, but then he has been scratched since.

So Corey Seeger not playing today for Texas. Last night had ultimately the game winning swing. Yeah, he's going to take his three run home running and go home Evidentally, he had missed four games because the left hamstring, and you know, we don't know how long he's going to be out. Dodgers have to also contend with off speed pitches from Michael Lorenzen, and you start to look at the Dodgers very quickly have five left handed batters in the

lineup. Why do I mention that, well, lefties are hitting a very meager one to three against Lorenzen, who is making his eleven start tonight. Michael Lorenzen, an Orange County native, grew up an Angels fan, and he has pitched well for Texas so far this year. But the Dodger's going to try and take it to him tonight so they can take this three game series TC back to you, all right, appreciate it there, guys. Yeah. Michael Lorenzen, Cal State Fullerton grad. He's pitched in Southern California's

entire life. Now I gets to pitch at Dodger Stadium and get the start for the first time in his career against the Dodgers. Dodgers and Rangers rubber game of this three game set, Well, this one is over. David Vass will have all the postgame coverage, including Dodger Talk on AM five to seventy LA Sports.
