And now your host for Marongo Casino Dodgers on Deck, Case tam Case, Hi, everybody, and welcome in two Morongo Casino Dodgers on Deck. I hope you're well on this Tuesday and night. You're Los Angeles Dodgers forty one and twenty six on this season. After a five hundred road trip that saw the Dodgers lose two to three in pittsber but then go into the Bronx and
take two of three from the Yankees. Well tonight they're back home for the start of a six game homestand first up a three game interleague series against the Texas Rangers. James Paxton, the Big Maple, the left hander on the mound for the Dodgers. First pitches coming up at seven to ten. Between then and now, we got a lot to get to here. On Wrongo Casino Dodgers on Deck, we'll hear from the Dodger manager, Dave Roberts.
We'll preview this pitching matchup. David veassegoes one on one with Brad Paisley. Yeah, country musicians, superstar and Dodger fans. Shortly, we'll hear from Kirsten W. Jason in just a few minutes, we'll check in with Rick Monday and Stephen Nelson out at the Gallpin Motors Broadcast booth with the Dodgers were
lasting action on Sunday Night baseball at Yankees Stadium. As Tyler glass Now got the start, and he put the Dodgers in an early hole as Waldo Cabrera a solo home run followed up by an Aaron Judge rb Gui double which was misplayed by Andy Pajas in right center field the Yankees and the third took a two to nothing lead. The Dodgers, though, would answer back Mookie Betts
a two run double in the fifth that tied the game at two. In the sixth, ta Oscar Hernandez gave the Dodgers the lead buckle up for the two to one. Tayo Teas off left field, hit deep again, Tioscar Hernandez. It's Tayo time, and that might be the one swinging the bet I was talking about. He turned around a changa Taoscar Hernandez with the home run. He had a wild weekend in New York. Three home runs, a couple of doubles, nine ribys. That's the top tier play of the
game. Sponsored by Arco Quality top tier gas for less Dodgers a three to two lead in the top half of the sixth inning. In the bottom of the sixth, though, Tyler Glass now gave up the lead two balls, one strike, one out. In this sixth inning, the pitchering Glass now pulled in the air right field and hammerd Grisham tosses the bat. He has flipped the scoreboard with a home run, his third home run to hold the year, a three run blast, giving New York a five to three lead.
Here at the bottom of the sixth they were chanting, we want Soto for one Soto. Instead they got Trent Grisham, and he hits a three run home run sub one hundred batting average, but he comes through there on a ninety six mile an hour fastball that he turns around for a three run home run. Yankees take a five to three lead. The Dodgers would get to within one in the eighth on a Will Smith sackfly scoring show he O
Tani. Dodgers were down five to four. However, Johann Ramirez came back out to pitch the eighth and a one run game, and Aaron Judge crushed a fastball for a four hundred and thirty four foot home run is twenty fourth of this season. The Yankees took a two run lead and they go on and win it by a final of six to four. Former Dodger Caleb Ferguson gets the win. Tyler glasnow gets the loss. He falls to six and five on this season. He is now winless in his last six starts.
The Dodgers lose the finale in New York, but they still take this series, taking two of three. They're forty one and twenty six overall. Pack home to start a six game homestand James Paxton on the mount. In the series opener, it's the Dodgers take on the defending World Series champion Texas Rangers. First pitch at seven to ten and with more let's head out to the Galpin Motors broadcast booth as we say hello to a Rick Monday and Steven Nelson.
Guys, thank you, Tim Mo. We are recovered from the off day, getting ready for a six game homestand on the heels of a six game road trip. And while the Dodgers finished that trip five hundred taken two to three in New York. Given all the hooplaw the pomp and circumstance and the noise that went into it. Don't care that Wan Soto didn't play the fact that the Dodgers won that series and nearly swept it. Hopefully we'll give
them some momentum into this one against the defending World Series champion. Recovered. Heck, I just walk up. How about the fact I think the impact that the Dodgers and what they did in the Bronx winning two out of three and really even competitive throughout the game three of that series. But I think they proved something to themselves more than maybe everybody else on the outside looking in, And that being the fact didn't play particularly well in Pittsburgh the first series
on that road trip, and I think they come back into time. They're in a streak now, they're going to play thirteen consecutive games, and that was a very good two out of three to win. And they were not alone, as we found out in New York because there was a large group. They'd even had a police escort coming down the street the Yeku Stadium. So this is the club that has to be feeling good about themselves and it's a good way to come back into a series. Against the defending world champion
and the Rangers are five going out. How difficult it is to repeat a World championship because everybody knows you're coming into town. It has been a weird year in the whole American League West. I mean, the Rangers are three games below five hundred, but they're only five and a half games back for the top spot in their division. But they have been in the midst of a brutal stretch. I mean they've lost seventeen of their last twenty six.
But for the Dodgers in this matchup, they saw him in Arlington last year and at the time it was Hey, this could be a matchup, a potential World Series matchup, and you coming out of that thinking, I don't know if Texas has all the pieces. Well, they showed even you can finish the season cold, but if you get hot at the right time, you can take it all the way. That's exactly what they did last last October, despite coughing up the division to Houston on the last eight year.
Put the pieces together when they needed to be put together. So did the other team that they played in the World Series, that being the Arizona Diamondbacks. Diamondbacks get in. They're a wild card team, but they played their best baseball when you really had to play it be in postseason play. So you look at the Rangers coming in. He has five and a half out Seattle. Has it taken people by surprise in American League Western Division because you
look at what the Mariners have done. They're in first place for a lot of reasons, including playing within their own division. They've won fourteen of the nineteen games played against teams in that West. It's gonna be a heavy interleague month for the Dodgers. That the Yankees series just their seventh, eighth, and ninth interleague games of the year. You gotta play forty six, so this is gonna kick off a stretch of seeing a lot of American League opponents.
Here the six game homestand with Texas and Case, James Paxson will have the ball for the Dodgers opposite Dane Dunning for the Rangers. We'll get into that a little bit when we check in a little bit later. Thanks Tim, all right, I see count you down to first pitch. Dodger fans, get your game day meal on at Shaky's Pizza Parlor. I'm next, so your Otani rewind and we'll visit with Kirsten Watson. Lead you up to Dodgers and Rangers. Thanks for being with us on this Tuesday night. I'm Tim Kats's Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network is Lorongo Casino, Dodgers on Dodgers on Deck, y'all on the official home of La Dodgers
Baseball. It's the Dodgers and Texas Rangers. James Paxxtondeane Dunny. The bitching matchup in this series opener. First pitch coming up at seven ten. This is the otanias rewinde. Here's the one two pitch. Otani serves one fair, a little qu shot down the third baseline and he's into second, standing up a leadoff double and Moe we've been highlighting how hard he hits the baseball. Did not hit that one hard at all, but he hit it perfectly
in the right spot. A double for show. Hey Otani, his eighteenth of this season that on Sunday at the Yankee Stadium. He would later score in the eighth inning, but the Dodgers would fall short by a six to four final. The Otani rewine brought to by eto Inns oil O Jo, Japan's number one green tea, available at your local Tyso stores, Amazon and etoin dot Com. That's it, o e n dot Com. This is
Kirston's Corner with Kirston Watson and Kirston now joins us from Dodgers Stadium. Dodgers back home after all the buzz over the weekend and the bronx with the Dodgers and Yankees. But Heirson, last time I looked, these Texas Rangers are the defending World Series Champson there in town that they are, So this is gonna be. You know, as much as it may not feel like the Yankees Dodgers excitement, that atmosphere was insane. It truly was a postseason one.
Well, it doesn't necessarily feel like that East West rivalry, there's still something in this one. I mean, look, like you said, you got to give them that respect. They are the World Series champions going into this year, and so when I asked Dave Roberts about it, he said that they're a team that's kind of finding their way at the moment. So, yes, it does feel a little bit different because of that, but ultimately there's still a good team. The team They're gonna face some really good
pitching. So yeah. So and even with talking to Oscar briefly, he said, you have to approach this one just as similar as they did the Yankee So hopefully they'll be able to put up some good numbers here in this one today. And the fun ist back for Corey Seeger back at Dodger Stadium for the first time, but really not the first time. Yeah. So he was a part of the All Star Game when they played here, but two years ago now, yes, two years ago, and so that was
technically his first time coming back to Dodger Stadium. But it's an All Star game, totally different atmosphere, there's players from different teams. It's just the feel is different. Yes, it's still the iconic Dodger stadium. It's a totally different vibe. So this is his first time coming back in the regular season as a Rangers player with his teammates facing his former teammates the Dodgers, and so he said, you know, this was a really special organization for
him. This is where he you know, he is where he grew up. It's where he became a young adult, and he really learned about himself. He learned how to do things the right way, play the game the right way, and so those are a lot of the things he learned here. He's carried over into his career now with the Rangers, now being a World Series champion with both organizations. So he unfortunately is not at the moment playing in this series. He's been dealing in nursing a hamstring strain and something
that happened last week. On Wednesday, he said he's trending in the right direction. But when he was asked if it's likely that he will be playing in this series, he didn't have an answer. So he was like, a game, I don't know. We'll see. So I think we're all going to find out. He'll probably know before us, but we will find out when he goes into the game, but the fact that he's back here,
got to spend some time with his former teammate. It's all Chris Taylor and his family yesterday, So uh, it's definitely it's a special return for him no matter what, looking forward to his return at some point. Cur's some appreciate it, Dodgers fans and hands. You're listening experience by downloading the iHeartRadio app and listening to Dodgers Baseball and HD. Dodgers on Deck, We'll dive deeper to this pitching matchup. We'll check in what David Vaz say. We'll get you high and tight, we'll get you an injury report, and we'll hear from the Dodger manager, Dave Roberts when we returned. It's the Dodgers and Rangers. Joe Kelly Jersey Night, first pitch at seventy ten. I'm Tim Kasis, Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.
This is Morongo Casino Dodgers hunting on your home for La Dodgers Baseball. It's the Dodgers and the Texas Rangers. On this Tuesday night, Marongo Casino. Dodgers on Deck continues as we lead up to first pitch. Moron Goo Casino Resort and Spa a Grand Slam for good times. James Paxton on the mound first pitch at seven ten. It's the LA Dodgers Injury Report presented by UCLA Healthy, official medical partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Max Munsey on the
IL with the oblique injury. Joe Kelly on the iel with the shoulder strain, even though it's Joe Kelly number ninety nine, Jersey Night. Ryan Brazer on the IL. Bobby Miller writes, shoulder inflammation. He's gonna make one more start at Oklahoma City before being activated. Kyle Hurts Dodger relievers, shoulder inflammation. He's pitched in two games for OKAC over the weekend, coming out of the bullpen. Clayton Kershaw working his way back. He's gonna throw a
sim game here shortly. Bruce dark gratterol starting to pick up the baseball and throw a little bit imiche and of course done for the season after having Tommy John surgery. Let's go back out to Dodger Stadium and check out with the Dodgers skipper anything else? Questions for Dave? Dave? Can you just describe Dave? Can you talk about the pressure in the dugout with Dave Robbers? You know, obviously they're the world champs. They're sort of kind of trying
to find their way right now. They've been banged up a lot. I think Corey is in town, but he's not act or not playing tonight. But yeah, they're still the world champs and we came off a big series in New York, get an off day, and I expect us to play well, you know this home stand. James Packiston after his last outing, what are you hoping to see from him today? Just kind of keep back on track. I think with James, obviously the New York outing was abbreviated
intentionally. Then the last one just wasn't very good. And so I think that right now it's go out there and filled the strike zone. The stuff plays in the zone. He just hasn't been in the strike zone very much. And you know, I think if he gets ahead, it's an aggressive swinging team and get some swinging miss gets some quick outs and you know, get into that six inning. Sure, what the success she hit on the world. Did you learn anything on the team that you didn't know? No,
not really. I think that I've been with these guys for for long enough to appreciate that, you know, the ability to focus and play a clean ball game, play up to the level of competition. It is certainly in there. We haven't been as consistent as any of us would have liked. But that's baseball. It's a marathon. But no, I was. I was happy to see the way they responded. And you know, we're going to start here at thirteen in a row. The pen is in a
good spot. I think our starter is in a good spot right now, and so I just want to keep playing, you know, build off that momentum this last series. Dad, you mentioned here when you when you when he's master your years and what do you think of first Gosh, superstar, just a heavy baseball player, great competitor and really has performed really well on
the biggest of stages. So, you know, very good Dodger, and he had a chance to coach him like kind of every October, right especially in the years that hasn't worked out for you guys to kind of talk about guys and that moments. Do you think I've seen the two time World Series. Do you think there's such a thing as an October player? And if Segar is one, why do you think he is? Well? I think that over the first couple of years, I don't think he was very good
in the postseason. I think in twenty it really started. And I think Corey is an aggressive swinger, and so he understood the value of just taking walks when you need to and when they throw it over the plate, hit it hard and do what he does. And so he's carried that on through the you know, following postseasons. You know, as far as us, it still takes more than one player. I think collectively, we just haven't been great the last couple of years. Offensively, all right, there's Dave
Roberts down the dug out brought to you by Service Titan. Dave Roberts is a Titan in his own right, and he's got a blame before his team hits the field. You need one for your growing contacting business too. Learn more at servicetitan dot com and let Service Titan help you implement your plan. When we come back here on Dodgers on Deck, we'll check you out with David bad saying, lead you up to first pitch Dodgers and Rangers. From
the ravine of Tim Kass Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network. This is Marongo Casino, Dodgers on Deck on your home for the Blue All Season Law Law Dodgers and Rangers. James Paxson, Dane Dunning. The pitching matchup, first pitch coming up at seven to ten. Coming up, we'll dip deeper into this pitching matchup. Stephen and Rick will get you the keys to the game. But first, joining Tim Kats on Dodgers on Deck, I accept everybody for who they are. This is Dodger insider David Basse. All right, DV,
he's back. He's a World Series champion with the Texas Rangers and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Welcome back Corey Seeger. Yeah, indeed, welcome Corey Seger back to Dodgers Stadium. Despite him not being in the starting lineup tonight for the Rangers. He's been dealing with a left hamstring issue that he injured over the weekend when the Rangers were playing the Giants, but nonetheless great to have him back at Dodgers Stadium. This is the second time that Seeger has
been back to Dodgers Stadium since signing with the Rangers. He was an All Star for the American League when the Midsummer Classic was at Dodgers Stadium a couple of years ago, but this is the first time he's coming to town wearing that Rangers uniform and coming back not only a two time World Series champion, but coming back a two time World Series MVP. I think winning's fun. Anytime you can win, their fun. So to be at the top is
what you're always trying to accomplish. So in a lot of ways, there's a lot of similarities. You know, how you get there, things like that were probably different, but at the end, winning is the same. So a lot of the times were similar. And that was when Seger was asked about the difference between the Bubble Championship with the Dodgers in twenty compared to a full season World Series championship with the Rangers last year and this season.
Corey Sieger He's been hitting the ball hard, but not a lot to show for it. He's hitting two seventy one with an ops of eight thirty two thirteen homers and certainly playing still solid shortstop. If you remember when he was with the Dodgers, Mookie Betts was a right fielder tim and now he's a shortstop. And Seeger was asked about his thoughts on Mookie moving the shortstop. I think it's really impressive. I mean, he hasn't played really the infield
since the minor leagues. I know he did a couple times here or there, but to go out and play a position probably since high school that he's played short I don't know what it was ex actually, but that's not an easy thing to do to learn on a big league level. It's great to have Corey Seger back. He still has such strong bonds with his former teammates. He spent the off day with Chris Taylor, among others. So Corey Seger, even though he's wearing a Ranger uniform, will forever have that Dodger
bond with his teammates. Tavid is driven by the Ford EV Series, America's best selling truck for forty seven years in counting. Ford gives you the freedom of choice gas hybrid electric. Hey your Southern California Ford Dealers and find yours ford EV Series built Tough Max Munsey DV haven't heard an update on him in a while. How is he progressing? Well, he's still not swinging the bat, and this obleak issue has basically debilitated him from doing anything physical up
until today. The last homestand we saw Max Munsey take some ground balls, but he was not allowed to throw across the diamonds. So today was a major improvement because when we got to Dodger Stadium around on two o'clock this afternoon, the Dodger third baseman was not only fielding ground balls, but he was throwing across the diamonds. So that's a step in the right direction. But my understanding, Tim is that Mounsey is weeks away from returning to the lineup.
What about Clayton Kershaw David any update? Yeah? I asked him what he thought about Dave Roberts comparing this start to the throwing and the simulated games to his first week of spring training, and he said, look, you can do the math. I've pitched two innings in a simulated game and you'll
be able to track it as the time goes along. So basically he's going to make at least six to seven, maybe eight starts before he comes back sometime in July, and right now the Dodger rotation is pretty full, especially with Bobby Miller on the horizon to return to the rotation. Yeah, Bobby Miller. One more start in Oklahoma City, then he's going to return. David, appreciate it. Looking forward to your conversation with Brad Paisley that's coming
up, Dodger fans in about fifteen minutes. Yeah, that same Brad Paisley, country superstar, also a Dodger fan. You'll hear from him coming up in fifteen minutes. Coming up here next to on Dodgers on Deck, we'll get your Dodgers magical moments. We leads up to Dodgers and Rangers. First
pitch is seven ten. I'm Tim Kas's Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network. As we were saying, yes, it is Marongo Casino Dodgers on Deck on the official home of La Dodgers Baseball, Dodgers in Texas Rangers, James Jackson, Dane Dunning. The pitching magic will dive deepen in the numbers. Coming up in just a little bit. First pitch at sevent ten. Who wants It's time for the Hawey Magical moment, Bitch Magical presented by Hawvey Hot Dogs.
We go back to July twenty second, last year, Dodgers in Arlington taking on the Texas Rangers and facing this same Dane Dunning. For those on already are wondering what the Freddie is, well, basically he puts his hands up over his head and if you can imagine what someone looks like while they're trying to work a hula hoop, Freddie hits a high drive to right field. It is deep, it is gone, and we're doing to Freddy get the hula hoops. A two run homer for Freddie Freeman. How about that?
It is seven to one Dodgers, Freddie Freeman with his second home run of the game, that one in the fourth inning, and the Dodgers would go on and score a season high sixteen runs, demolishing the first place then Texas Rangers sixteen to three, and the same Dane Dunning who's on the mountain tonight for the Texas Rangers, took the loss in that Dodger domination last July. This Haffey Magical Moment brought to you by Hoffey Hotalgs, a so Cal treasurer

But man, what an exciting series in the Bronx. It was exciting from a lot of different reasons. And what about to Askar Hernandez. By the way, congratulations to a Teo the National League Player of the week. He
did everything so dragged the infield. If you look at last week and especially with that big Grand Slam that he hit on Saturday night, eat Yankee Stadium and David for the second trip in a row. The last one was twenty sixteen. But if remember a number of years ago Dodgers went into Yankee Stadium
and pantone two ninety four came in. Well, they were there again this past weekend and kind of took over a Yankee Stadium and Yankee fans were stunned again by the support that a visiting team, I mean the audacity of the visiting team had a lot of fans that came in to their house. It was really nice to see. And this is a ball club. I was talking earlier to someone about momentum and some people that maybe have never participated in
sports or competed don't understand momentum. Is it important? Well, I think it's important along with chemistry too, and I think the momentum hopefully that they garnered from that winning two out of three in New York is now going to carry over. They're in a good spot the Dodgers right now, no question about it, seven and a half game lead in front of the San Diego Padres. Are they better than what the record is? In my mind,
yes, they're a better team. They've had injuries. Every team is going to have injuries, and still maybe a long way away by Max Munsey. We don't know how far away he is at the present time either. So this is the club comes in knowing full well, they come in with a positive thought. Two out of three in New York. Now they're going to be home for thirteen games, and this is a good kind of a test, thirteen games in a row, at least the two series here before they
go back out. That was one thing I've been meaning to ask you. How much more is left for this Dodger team. It feels like there's a lot more left. I don't think you want to peak too early. It's funny. Dwayne McDonald and I were having the conversation our great producer engineer a little bit earlier about teams that will momentum playing well, do they peak too
early? Because you can make the argument if you look at the Texas Rangers, who are coming in tonight, the defending World champions they barely got into postseason play last year. Well, they won a World championship, and the team that they played against, the Arizona Diamondbacks, who did not play particularly
well until it really really mattered at the end of the season. They get into a wild card, they played lights out during the postseason, and they wound up in the World Series. So yeah, it's nice to have seven and a half game lead right now. It would be better to have a seven and a half game lead after Game one sixty two and have a club A that's healthy and B playing well. Right now, the club's not totally
healthy, but they are playing well. Going back to taoscar Hernandez, who is the National League Player of the Week, Like you mentioned, it feels like on that stage in New York, he has become a household name. Now in Los Angeles, Well, let me ask you this, because you're on the field talking to the guys a lot, and in the locker room and around him. He's enjoying being here with the Dodgers, and you see
it up close to personal. They enjoy having him here. Yeah, I feel like he has that million dollar smile right, and he kind of fills in a lot of different areas about Hey, let's go out and play.
If you play well enough, you can have even more fun. He happens to have fun each and every day because he realizes, hey, look, it's a true grift, true gift to be really one of the six hundred major league players that are out there right now if you consider all the different teams that are playing in Major League Baseball, and he's in the upper echelon, and he was last week the best of the National League. Hey, Rick, you always wonder about players and whether or not they can perform on
the biggest of stage. I feel like we learned something about ta Oscar Hernandez. You bring up a good point, because there are some players that quite frankly, don't want to play for the teams that have the bright spotlights on them. It's one thing to say, oh, I want to play in the big stage. Okay, who can perform? There is a player that I know a number of years ago with the Boston Red Sox that ask a starting pitcher about a day or two before he was going to pitch in the
World Series. Aren't you scared? And that picture said, no, I'm not scared. I'm really looking forward to it. This is an area that I look forward to since I was a little kid. And this other pitcher, who is a reliever at the time, said, I'm scared to death. Quite frankly, I hope I don't get in the ball game. Those are not the guys you wanted your team. Obviously, it's not that easy to play under the brightest lights because not everyone has the greatest of expectations of
not only themselves but those around them. That's coming from a man that delivered one of the biggest home runs in Dodger history. He liked the big stage, Rick Monday. We had a big ball club that got us to the big stage. You delivered as well. Thanks Rick, I'll be your PR guy. Don't worry, I look forward to it. David, thirteen consecutive games with you, Oh man, buckle up, trust me, Temvill send

But I'm next, Well here if I'm one of the Dodgers' biggest fans and one of country's the biggest superstars, Brad Paisley, that's next Dodgers Rangers, first pitch of seven to ten. The Dodgers back home after an electric three games at Yankee Stadium, and one of the biggest country music stars and Dodger fans was in attendance for a Saturday night's game at Yankee Stadium, and that was the one and only Brad Paisley. Thanks for that intro. I don't know how much of that I deserve. Thank you, You deserve all of it. And it was great to see what Yankee Stadium. I couldn't believe how good your seats were. I mean, you flew in for that game, and I feel
like you got your money's worth. Are you kidding? I mean, it's that was one of those games where it's great to be the fan of the
winning team because it was the perfect game. It's like tie, well, you know, we're up one, tied up one again, go up too, and then it's all hell breaks loose thanks to tai Oscar, and it's like it was just a blast, and the experience of being there when these two Titans collide is just it's really it was really something I've been to, you know, our World Series games before, and this was every bit is exciting. It's it's crazy. I hope you weren't getting a hot dog when
ta Oscar Hernandez hit his grand Slam. No, I was. I was sitting there and I mean just as shocked, and I mean it was just great. It was. It was literally the moment the Yankees fans started to believe true Blue. Brad Paisley is our guest. And I got to ask you, can you set the scene for Dodger fans? Are you in the part of your property in Nashville where you brought Eric Neander and Andrew Freeman together
for Tyler Glass Now? You miss Glass now? I feel like both times you've seen the Dodgers this year, you've missed Glass Now pitching by one game. You still have not seen Glass now pitch for the Dodgers, but you you brought them together. Well that's I mean, that's really that's a kind thing to say. I don't know if it would have happened without me, but I like to I'll definitely pretend to take the credit, but it's really it was a really amazing night. We have. I have this bar we
broadcast from there. You can go back and see it on your I guess your Instagram look at you? Yeah, right right on the iHeartRadio app, you can find that Dodger talk. We had about forty executives and baseball people here between the two teams, mostly Dodgers. But it was a really amazing experience to see the way that this sport is just like it's always been.
I don't know whether the NFL or basketball or how or soccer or how they they operate in terms of like the way deals get done, But for these it felt like in the days of the you know, Babe Ruth and Yeah, and you know what I mean, Garrek and these guys, like the things were going on where these guys would need it, you know, Rudy's Bar in New York and just hash out like, well, I mean, I don't know if we need them this year, do you want them?
Yeah, I guess I'll you know that kind of thing. It felt like it was that kind of thing, like basically, the Dodgers really wanted glass now and the Tampa Bay Rays knew they couldn't really keep them and they wanted to see what they could get, and over the course of sitting at the bar and having drinks, you know, it became really clear that these are guys that really want to build the best teams they can, and they like each other, and everybody had alcohol. And then the fun part was like
reminiscing. I was sitting there and talking to Eric about the World Series against the Race, and then you know, watching as we kind of teased him about something that happened in that and then the same with like what happened in years prior and just memories and it's just baseball is the best, it really is. The Dodgers getting close to officially welcoming the defending World Series champion Texas Rangers to Dodgers Stadium a three game set here and with the Rangers in town, MO, that means the return of a former and beloved Dodger, Corey Seeger of course, just won his second World Series, was the World Series MVP for the Rangers last October in their victory over Arizona, and no Dodger fan will ever forget what he did on
the twenty twenty run. Yeah, and not in the lineup tonight. Fourth consecutive games that he's not being in the starting lineup nursing a hamstring. It's a little bit of an issue in brus Bochi does not want to be able to push it right now early and extend the absence out of that lineup. But one thing about it, listen to Dave Roberts, I thought he summed
it up very well earlier this afternoon talking about the Rangers. He said, look, you have to treat them carefully because they are a very aggressive hitting team and when they get the offense going, very similar to what we see the Dodgers. They have some guys that can hit the ball to gap to gap extra bases, and some guys occasionally can run into it and hit it
out of the ballpark. The highlights without Corey Seger, even with Corey Seger, Marcus Simon, who's the lead off batter tonight for Texas, and Adolis Garcia the right fielder batting third. Hey, the Dodgers do own the National League Player of the Week, the reigning NL Player of the Week in Taoscar Hernandez. He's probably the one who was most upset to be leaving New York. Yeah, well, you know in New York would have sent a limousine
to take into the airport. A question about that. And for James Paxton getting the start tonight, and for the left hander his twelve start a factor of five and one so far, you know, what he's really done is kind of even the batting average left handed and right handed hitters against him. All the home runs that being seven of them had been hit by the right handers. He's actually owned the lefties. And I bring that up because only
one left hander in the Rangers lineup tonight. There's a couple of switch hitters that they'll be batting from the right side of his Packston. But this Dodger ball club, one of the things have been able to do recently, score early in the games. And the other factor this may come down to bullpins. The Dodgers' bullpen by far, has had a better start this season. It's been rugged for the Texas Rangers. They're bulk e twenty six out of
the thirty teams. Wool all right, So James Paxson, coming off his worst start as a Dodger in Pittsburgh when he was touched up for seven runs, six of amern At just an ending in two thirds. One positive that he can lean on coming into this one is that his new home has been a sweet home at Dodger Stadium. He's two to zero here in La in four starts with a two point seven to eight era. I'll try and hold down the defending champs. First pitch coming up soon. Back to you,
Tim, all right, thank you, Nelly. Dodgers and Rangers, starting with three game sets. First pitch is next. Don't forget after the game.
