Hopefully rested after a long delayed flight home from the East Coast. Walker Bueller on the mound. First pitch from Dodger Stadium is coming up at seven to ten. David Bassey will go one on one with Bobby Miller.

Shortly we'll hear from Kirsten Watson. We'll get your o TAWI rewind and in just a few minutes we'll check in with Rick Monday and Tim neffertt o at the Galpin Motors Broadcast booth. Well when day in the Queens, the Dodgers were the Kings as they beat the Mets ten to three. James Paxton got the start. It was an abbreviated start going in. He knew that on short rest. Three innings, no runs, two hits, three strikeouts. The Dodgers offense gave James packs in the early lead. Will Smith got

it started in the second. Think good Peterson, you get something common with you mo left handed. Yeah. Aside from that, there's a swing in a drive deep to left fan, way back. It goes, it is gone. Will Smith a solo homer to get it going. Here the second inning, one nothing Dodgers home run number eight for will as Smith rounds the bases and starts things off for the Dodgers well. On the second inning, Will Smith is solo home run back to back games with the home run,

hitting over four hundred against left handed pitching. More on Will Smith coming up. Andy Pott has an RBI single and the fourth Dodgers a two to nothing lead. Show Hey Otani an RBI single in the top of the fifth. Dodgers were up three to nothing. But that fell apart in the bottom of the fifth inning as the Mets scored three runs. Tomas Nito a two run shot. JD. Martinez, the former Dodger, tied it up with an RBI double, So the game was tied at three until the eighth, when

Will Smith untied it ball no strikes. Tom Avino gets ready to face Will Smith again. It was a curve ball swung on hit well in the left field and is going back to the walk down home run for Smith had the Dodgers leaded in the eighth four to three. The second home run of the game for Will Smith. Head the Dodger catcher, has scored three of the four Dodger runs this afternoon. What a performance from Will Smith. Two home runs, his ninth of the year for that one, giving the Dodgers a

four to three lead. But they weren't done. They'd score six runs in the eighth Inny Miguel Rojas an RBI single, Miguel Vargas a two run double show heyl Tony capped it off with a two run home run as the Dodgers explode to take a nine three lead. Brought to you by Arco, the top tier gas for less, and they weren't done. In the ninth, Jason Hayward a solo home run, his second of the year. Dodgers go on and beat the Mets ten to three. Blake Trying gets the winning relief.

Adam Ottovino gets the loss. What a day for Will Smith who gets his one hundredth home run in a Dodger uniform. Roy Campanella, Mike Piazza and Steve Yeger the only other three to do so, and Will Smith ties Steve Yeger with one hundred in a Dodger uniform as the Dodgers get the sweep in New York No. Now thirty six and twenty two on this season. They come back home with a six and a half game, leading the division

as the offense starting to heat up. Walker Buehler on the mount in this series opener tonight, first pitch at seven ten and with more let's head out to the Galpin Moters broadcast say hello to Eric Monday and Tim Never guys, Tim, thank you very much. Gorgeous night a Dodgers stadium. Great to be back, and the Dodgers take on the Rockies tonight, first to three, before heading right back to the East take on Pittsburgh and the Yankees.

But meantime, the Dodgers have won three straight, ended up with a three and three road trip after sweeping the Mets, and they have won a lot against these Colorado Rockies. In fact, the last one hundred games against the Rockies, the Dodgers have won sixty nine of them. Last year, they

took ten of thirteen meetings. Dodgers begin the game six and a half games above both San Francisco and San Diego in the Division, and the Rockies in the basement fourteen and a half back their record twenty and thirty five, fifteen under five hundred. Already, the Rockies playing a little bit better lately. They took two of three from the Phillies and two of three from Cleveland in their last two series. Dakota Hudson at one in seven makes the start for

Colorado. Walker Buller one in two. He'll make his fifth start tonight, But Mookie Bett's back at shortstop after playing second base two days ago in New York, and I think the good news also Dave Roberts is alluding to it after the last game on the road trip, is we're now beginning to see the bottom part of the order. We're talking about it for a number of

weeks. Bottom part of the order now is starting to contribute, and that's exactly what they were able to do, in particular in the final game of the series in New York, where the bottom part of the lineup responsible for five runs that were put up on the scoreboard, five of the ten runs. So that is the very good news. And you get some support from the bottom part because for the most part of the season it's been the big horses hit. The top of the order been pulling the wagon. Miguel Rojas

coming off a four hit game, his tenth career four hit game. He's batting in the eighth spot again. Dave Roberts complimenting his compete at the plate lately, and we've seen it very good. Yeah, I did some numbers today and started to look to put it into perspective. The bottom third of the lineup coming in tonight, and again they're hitting much better if we look, not only in the New York series, but it is starting to show some signs in Cincinnati at the beginning of the last road trip. But the

number seven hitters in the lineup total one nine four. Number eight hitters just one eighty five, number nine hitters two to two. Those numbers are going up, and that is a very good sign. Indeed, Well, the Dodgers want to give their skipper a birthday present tonight at Stave roberts fifty second birthday, So a win is really all he cares about at this point in

time in terms of getting a win. Number thirty seven. They've won seven straight games at home against Colorado, and it seems for the Rockies when you look at him year over year, at least the last few years, and again coming in here for their first meeting this year, it's basically the same ball club. They keep running the same guys out there, and they keep getting similar results and wondering that the results are not going to be changing.

Talking about Dave robertson hit his birthday. Hopefully it's going to be a happy night. Normally the win, it's a happy flight. The Dodgers did not have a happy flight from New York to Los Angeles because of weather, because of a mechanical because of a crew change. The Dodgers were on the plane for thirteen and a half hours for a five hour flight. Did you get the sleep yesterday? I just woke up about two hours ago. Me too, Rocky is when Dodgers coming up, game one of this three game series.

Dem all right, thank you guys, as we call you down to first pitch. Dodger fans, get your game day meal on It's Shaky's Pizza Parlor, or to your Shaky's Pizza Chicken and Mojo's right now at Shakys dot com. Coming up here on Dodgers on Deck, you will hear from the birthday boy Dave Roberts. We'll check in with David Vets say he'll go high and tight with Bobby Miller. We'll dive deeper to this pitchy matchup. We'll get you at Injury Report, We'll get you your magical moment of the day.

But up next you're O Tani Rewind and we'll visit m Kirston Watson from sports and at LA. And that's all coming up as we lead you up to Dodgers and Rockies on this Friday night Military Appreciation Night. Appreciate all our

military past and present. First pitch coming up at seven ten, Tim Kass, Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network is Morongo Casino, Dodgers on Dodgers on deck y'all on the official home of La Dodgers Baseball, Dodgers and Rockies, Walker Bueller, Dakota Hudson, the pitching match up and the start of a three game series. And it's back on the road for the Dodgers to the East Coast. We getting next week. First pitch tonight, coming up at seventen.

This is the free wide all in one to Otani stretch and the delivery swung on ground ball up the middle, sharply hit. Farnus is gonna come around third. He's on his way to the plate. He will score, and O'tani gets his first hit of the series, driving in a run. It is now three to nothing. Marcus off of second Lopez pitch and Showy hits one well to left field. This ball's back and this pun is gone. Shaw Hell Tony with a two run shot and there's nine to three.

The show rolls on here in New York. Two run home run for show Hey Otani. He was two for three on Wednesday in the finale against the Mets, drives in the three runs at the home run, now hitting three point thirty on this season. The Otani rewind brought to I eto enns Oocha Japan's number one Green Tea, Filbow, your local diso stores, Amazon, and etoen dot com. That's it o e N dot com. This is Kirston's Corner with Kirston Watson. Hey, Kirston now joins us before this series

opener against the Colorado Rockies. What a wild road trip, Kirston. The Dodgers lose three straight in Cincinnati, get rained out of Memorial Day, then they take three from the New York met some interesting travels back from New York. But with that all being said, this is a team that's in good spirits right now and I have to be feeling good about the way they're playing.

Yeah, they really did. And ultimately, like look, you talked about how the braindown on Memorial so that Monday it really allowed for everyone just to kind of reset. They came in for the doubleheader, they're ready to go. Took two on that game, and then they were able to pick up the sweep on Wednesday. So Dave has said that like it's truly in the last seventy two hours, If not, I guess maybe a couple more like a total just shift and energy. The offense has gotten going again.

We've seen from Will Smith multiple homers in the last game, and if you look at the last two games, he's got three homers. So the top of the order is getting things going. Show Hey, it was kind of the numbers had dropped down, but he's now gone back on track with that home run in the last game in New York. And then like, really the bottom of the order though they were able to put together some hits and with talking to a couple of the guys for them, it's really just about

like how can they set the table for the top of the order. And the numbers have shown, especially with Miguel Rojas. You know, when he goes, the team goes, and he has kept his little If he has a hit or scores a run, they're undefeated and he's kept that one going. So let's see what he can do today. The bottom of the lineup for this Dodgers team, I mean, we talked about it on Dodger Talk a lot, and we talk about it here on the pregame show a lot.

It cannot just be the top four when Will Smith included in this Dodger's lineup if they want to keep producing in winning games and winning series. And I think we're starting to see Jason Hayward, Miguel Vargas, some of these guys starting to produce here. Yeah, and that's exactly what it is. Look, it can't just be the top of the order. And so the fact that you're seeing not only just about on the order getting on base, getting a result, they are proving to be a lot of the difference in

a lot of these games. And they get going, then it just puts the top of the order in a position where like the other day in Game three against the Men's where when Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman they don't have a hit, you know, but they still can put up ten runs and still ability big performance and things like that. So the fact that those guys are

getting going. Dave has said that ultimately he doesn't necessarily always like to talk about, you know, top of the order the bottom of the order, but he did say today that what they're doing is they're doing their jobs, and that is really push in the offense in a good position. They're seeing really good at bats. He's putting them in a good position to win games. Kirston, we appreciate it. We're glad everybody's back safe and sound and

rested. On this Friday night day, you got another road trip to look forward doing seventy two hours, you're back on the road. How about that. Listen, just know we are going to be the kings and queens of cross country flight. That's right. By the end of by the end of next week, you're gonna see Middle America more than you ever wanted to see. In the next last two weeks, we will truly be flying. I'll just look out the window say hi, we appreciate it. Kirston will check

with you after the game. Dodger fans and hands, you're listening experience to games by downloading the iHeart Radio app and listening in HD. It's all powered by la Care Health Plan serving all Angelino's la Care dot org. We continue here on Dodgers on Deck, will dive deeper to this pitching matchup five and Matt Saying goes one on one with Bobby Miller. But up next, we'll get you an injury report as Evan Phillips is back, and we'll hear from

Dodger manager Dave Roberts. And it's a Dodgers and Rockies military appreciation night out of Dodgers Stadium, first pitch at seven ten. I'm Tim Katson's Los Angeles Dodgers. All you know where this is Morongo Casino Dodgers Hunting on your home for LA Dodgers Baseball. Morongo Casino Dodgers on Deck continues on this Friday night as you lead joke to first pitch from the Ravine Dodgers and Rockies Bronco Casino Resort and Spa, A Grand Slam for good times. Walker Bueller Ta Cota

Hudson. The pitching matchup, first pitch coming up at sevent ten. He's the LA Dodgers. Injury report presented by UCLA Healthy official medical partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Max Munsey Grade one oblique train. He's on the IL. Joe Kelly on the iel at the shoulder strain, Ryan Brazier on the iel at the right cap strain. Bobby Miller, who you'll hear from coming up in about twenty five minutes, on the iel with the shoulder inflammation.

More on that we'll hear from him himself. Evan Phillips, Welcome back, activated off the iel of that hamstring strain. So he is back now at the back end of that Dodger's bullpen, Connor broadenstall on the Il, Clinton Kershaw, Bruce dargarrat Oral, Kyle Hurt, Tony Gonsolin, Dustin May, and Emma Shean all out with injuries. Let's check you out with the Dodger

scopper anything A questions for Dave Dave? Can you just describe Dave? Can you talk about the pressure in the dugouts with Dave Roberts Dave, Happy birthday? What is your favorite part about celebrating your birthday at the ballpark? You know, I think outside of just being with my family, I think there's no other place on Earth I'd rather be. I really wouldn't And to have a home birthday, a game, a day we're playing baseball. It's great.

The Lord blessed with the beautiful day at Dodger Stadium. So just very excited, well being back home, coming off of the sweep in New York. How have you seen just the offense get back on track and really just the bottom of the order. How have you seen them start to be really in a position which they're kind of setting the tone and setting the table for the top of the order. It's great, I'll tell you you know what

a different seventy two hours makes. You know, you're on the heels of losing six in a row, and you come back and win a ball game. Then you win three in a row, and you're feeling pretty good about yourselves. I try not to make too much of the bottom part of the order, but I think it just really comes down to everyone just doing their part. And when those guys are doing their part and taking productive at bats, then good things happen. What do you want to see from Walker today?

I think with Walker just command, I think the stuff is good enough. I think last time, I think he took down twenty one hitters, got into the sixth inning. I'd love to see him go through, you know, twenty three twenty four hitters tonight and you know, put us in a position win a ball game. All right, there's Dave Roberts down to the dugout talking about tonight's game. Happy birthday, by the way to Dave Roberts, hold for the Dodgers can give him a win. Brought to you

When we continue here on Dodgers on Deck, we'll check in when David Bassey lean you up to first pitch on this Friday night, Dodgers and Rockies Military Appreciation Night. I'm Tim Kateson's Los Angeles Dodgers Auditing Network.

This is Marongo Casino, Dodgers on Tech on your home for the Blue all season long, Dodgers and Rockies. Dodgers back home for a brief three game series against Colorado. Walker Bueler on the mound, first pitch coming up at seven ten, Joining Tim Kates on Dodgers on Tech. I accept everybody for who they are. This is Dodger insider David Basse. All right, DV. The big news for the Dodgers today getting healthy Evan Phillips is back.

Yeah, and that's a big boost to the Dodger bullpen. Tim there without Joe Kelly and Ryan Brazier as it is, and getting Evan Phillips back from a freak injury where he was just playing catch and got his cleat stuck in the grass while playing catch with Joe Kelly and it turned into a Grade one right hamstring strain. And gotta tell you, Evan Phillips one of the nicer guys in that clubhouse. He was not happy during his month on the il, but today the smile was back on his face. Very happy to

be back, very excited. You know, not being able to pitch and being on the injured list is definitely no fun. It's much less fun than you know, being a part of the team and trying to win ball game. So very fortunate that my rehab journey was irrelatively quick and fully healed, So very fortunate for that. I'm just happy to be here again. Did you catch Daniel Hudson reminding the world you are the Dodgers? Yeah? Sure,

did you know? That was really exciting? It was actually that game of the doubleheader was what Sunday right, Yeah, So I had I had a rehab game that day, and I was just getting ready for my game, and I had the Dodgers on in the background, and you know, watching that moment unfold and you know they basis loaded three to zero count, you know, winning run on third base. I didn't have any doubt that

Hoddy could get through it. So it was a super super awesome to see that come to fruition and the shushing of the crowd at the end was just the icing on the cake. Man. I could tell you're back. The smile is back. For Evan Phillips. It feels like a weight's beIN lifted. Definitely. Yeah. I'm absolutely just super excited to get back out there and you know, competing again. So been it felt like a long road for me, just because it's been I think about four weeks now since I've

been in a game. So just super happy to be back. Yeah, Evan Phillips is back, and Alicia Hernandez was DFA designated for assignment to make room on the roster for the Dodger Closer. David is driven by Ford F Series, America's best selling trucks for forty seven years in county. Ford gives you freedom of choice gas, hybrid, electric. Head to your Southern California

After this three game series, the Dodgers will head back on the road and back to the East Coast Pittsburgh and New York, this time to face the Yankees. I don't nobody's gonna do the Dodgers any favors, but the schedule makers certainly are not doing them any favors. Yeah, it's not just the Dodgers.

Tim. Other teams around baseball cannot believe the way the schedule makers at New York City's office, the hub for Major League Baseball, planned out this year's twenty twenty four campaign. You go back to Cincinnati, and the Reds played the Dodgers more than they already have played inside their own division. They played the Dodgers seven times and have only played three games inside their own division.

And not only are the Dodgers going back to the East Coast after this short three game homestand next month the Dodgers return home from a four game series in Denver against these Rockies to play two games against the Angels to go back out on the road to Chicago and San Francisco. So very strange schedule. Not to mention Tim this coming week in our a week from today, the Dodgers

are a Yankee stadium. While Major League Baseball has the most anticipated regular season series in New York between the Dodgers and Yankees, they also planned for their Jewel London series to take place the same weekend. Go figure that. I can't figure that one out, Dave. All right, time not to pick the ponies as we do here at Santa Anita. And tomorrow we're looking at the eighth race at Santa Anita, currently a ten horse race six furlongs.

Who you like, DV in the eighth race tomorrow? Well, Cody Bellingers sent me a nice text today, So I'm going with the nine horse Cody Boy. And yes, I'll pick up that name off the ground, Cody Boy. Yeah, you dropped it. Let's go with coach Cronin, obviously in honor of Mitt Cronin and his dad, who are heavily and in horse racing along with a mixed brother. They own a couple of horses, and I'm just assuming that's the Cronin family horse coach job future. Thanks Dave.

Dodgers on jack on the official home of La Dodgers Baseball. Dodgers and Rockies Military Appreciation Nights at at Dodger Stadium started a three game series against

Colorado Walker Vieler Dakota Hudson. In the pitching matchup, first pitch sent first seven ten, I do d A. Who's that hot cod It's time for the Hawfy Magical Moment. It's Magical presented by Hawfy Hot Dogs. Go back to April twenty second, twenty and sixteen, the Dodgers on the road at cours Field in Colorado taking on the Rockies. Trevor's story was on the base pass until Yasio Puige nailed them to two to one. Is a fly ball to right that goes tweeting he is at the wall. He jumps he can't

get it. It is off the wall and story can really run. He's on his way to third page. I want to throw, and he is out at third page. Yes see Old Puigue with one of the great throws you will ever see in this game. He is three hundred and seventy nine feet from home plate. He threw on the fly. Story could run, and he was out by a thread magnifficent throw by Yasie Old Puig. You're never gonna see anything like this one again. That will go down as one

of the great throws in baseball history. It bounced off the wall, then he had to chase it down, and then in one motion he threw a strike in which Turner was able to slap the tag on Trevor's story. The story was Pleague's throw, oh Man, an absolute laser from Yassie Old Puigue and right field at Corus Field. To get Trevor's story. Will check you oil Rick Monday for leading up to first pitch on this Friday Night Dodgers and Rockies. I'm Tim Kason's Los Angeles Dodgers Audio, No long Sino Dodgers on Dodgers on Deck. Y'all on the official home of LA Dodgers Baseball. Dodgers and Rockies from the Ravine started a

three game weekend, said Walker Vieler on the Mount. Dodgers fans, start your future out of California community college financial aids available to help you with the tuition, books and sometimes even the rent. It's time to take that next big step. Classes can fill up quickly, So enrolled today and I can go to college dot com and now joined by David Basse. Here's LA Dodgers

broadcast and World Series Champion Dodger Rick Monday. Well, Rick Monday was a few rows ahead of me on that plane that was delayed seven hours the other night on the way back from Newark. Have you recovered Rick Monday? I just woke up about two hours ago. Was that a night of just stand by to stand by. And by the way, kudos to first of all our cabin crew that most of them we see on every flight. They did a marvelous job. And also to Jay, the gentleman from United Airlines that

goes with us. He wound up getting on the plane finally, he was soaking wet. He was doing his best to get a the plane fixed, b to get a flight crew up front because they had timed out and the airport had closed because of weather. So yeah, it took us thirteen plus hours on the plane to take a five hour flight. It was quite an evening, it sure was. And I was telling guys at the radio station. The good news was nobody had a meltdown, nobody freaked out on the

plane. Everybody kept their composure. It is what it is. And again, the people that really made it enjoyable impalatable at the very least was the cabin crew. You know, the flight attendants that worked the Dodgers charters are absolutely top of their profession and they showed that. You know, they don't get paid for that on the ground. Wow, they do not get paid while they're on the ground in doing that. They get paid in the air so our thanks to them and our thanks to Jay. Jay may have dried

out by this time. He was literally soaking wet off the plane, calling, calling, you know, the the tower, calling everybody else to see if we could get a flight crew. And we had to wait for the maintenance to come and fix the plane because there was an issue taxiing out of a fuel pump. You know, it's better to have a malfunction while you're in the where you're on the ground, than is in the air. I was never aware of that. Yeah, I learned that being a pilot over

a lot of years myself. David, Yeah, it's much better because there's no off ramp. You know, you can't pull over the side and called Triple A or anybody else. Hey, Rick, good news. The Dodgers will do it again on Monday when they go back to the East Coast. Yeah, I can't wait. But they got a short homestand here against one of the worst teams in baseball. How do you view this series for the Dodgers, Going back to the fact that the Dodgers are here for three games

and then they go back to Pittsburgh and New York. I know there were a couple of people talking to said, well, should we just leave our luggage in the hotel here and we'll you know, we'll get by at home obviously for the three days and pack enough clothes for the three days in Pittsburgh and then go back and pick up the luggage because we're at the same hotel when we go to New York next time to play the Yankees. But you

know, now, three games against the Rockies don't take them lightly. I mean, it comes down to the same thing that I've said even from spring trending. The Dodgers are viewed as the Goliath of baseball. The Rockies are having a putrid season, and that may be at the best you talk about that. I mean, they come in, they're twenty and thirty five, there's seven and twenty one on the road. However, they're playing against Goliath.

That's going to be incentive itself, right, And I feel like already we've seen that the Reds played Goliath and took them down in Cincinnati, Yeah, and enjoyed every minute of it. It was amazing. In New York at City Field, Tim Nevert and I were talking about the fact is, you know that first game, the Mets had the lead and it was kind of a quiet stadium and the Dodgers when they were able to come back and tie that game, it was amazing, if not overwhelming, the number of

Dodger fans that were there. Now I realized there's still a certain age group that has irritated that the Dodgers packed up and left Brooklyn to begin with. But there's even more of a group that they were on their feet when the Dodgers were winning those games. Yeah, it's the grandkids of the Dodger fans from Brooklyn that were in Queen's over the weekend or not over the weekend.

Research again have Yeah, there we go, right, Yeah, moonlighting, Thanks a lot, Rick, and we'll check in with you and Tim Nevertt a little bit later. Yeah. Yeah, I'm glad you finally woke up. Hey, I wish we were sitting in the same road together during those seven hours. Rick, won't happen. We'll check back with Rick Monday a little bit later. For now, we'll send it back to you in the studio. Temp. All right, thanks a lot. DV. Dodgers Baseball

Still they come here at Dodgers on Deck, we'll get you a preview of this pitch matchup. Rick and Tim Newiby right back before first pitch with the keys to the game. But up next we go high and tight with Bobby Miller. How's the young right handed feeling shoulder inflammation? Hopefully fingers

crossed coming back soon. We'll hear from him and find out next. For leading up to Dodgers and Rockies. I'm Tim Kason's Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network. This is Morongo Cassino Dodgers hunting on your home for LA Dodgers Baseball. It's the Dodgers and Rockies on this Friday night, Walker Rueler to go to Hudson. This is high and tight. The Dodgers are back for three games, but it's always good to come home and see my guy, Bobby Miller. Bobby, thanks a lot for the time. You look fresh and well rested. I feel great.

Thanks for having me. Everybody's wondering how the rehab is going. I know the way you've expressed it to me that you're itching to get back. I'm definitely interesting to get back. You know, I just trusting the process at the same time, but I feel ready to go. I feel ready to get back in major league games with where my stuff is at right now and health wise, I feel one hundred percent right now. But you know,

I'm just here trusting the process. During your rehab outing, can you gauge anything from those or is it more about how you feel the next day. It's a little bit of a mix of both. You know, I felt great that day the day after. I've been bouncing back really good, especially after that after that LIVEVP here at Dodger Stadium. It seemed like right after that, like I just started bouncing back really good health wise, and everything just seemed to go away. And I'm feeling nothing at this point,

like no pinch or anything. In the shoulder even warming up. It's not taking me a long time to get loose anymore. It's just like coming out good right away. But the takeaways from the game, I mean, it's hard, like really to know what to expect. You know, you don't know if there's gonna be guys like really really excited to face a major leaguer and start swinging a lot. But you know, some of a couple of them put together some good at bats. It's really just an execution standpoint for

me, like showing them something good or not. But I my takeaways were really good, you know, after a decent amount of strikes. Fastball was really good, changed up was great, cider was great. Curveball still needs a little bit of work, but I learned that everything's going good. The curveball, that's that's a field pitch, right, I mean, yeah, last year that was a big field pitch for me. I could throw whenever I wanted, whatever count. I still feel that way. It's just not

as sharp as it should be right now. But I'm sure once I get back into game action, it'll be right where it needs to be. I remember the first time Bobby Miller pitched at Dodger Stadium. It was during the Futures Game of All Star Weekend here at Dodger Stadium, and your manager was Mike Zosha for that game, and he had so many great things to say about you. But the one thing that's refreshing is how you prioritize throwing the fastball down in a way to hitters. That seems to be a lost art.

Yeah, I mean, especially like a guy like me too, like a little bit of a taller guy being six to five. I'm not releasing low. So you know, when you release high, that fastball down in a way is really good. It almost looks like it's especially if you have good carry on the baseball, which I've had like this year and a little bit most of the time last year, you know, and you stick that

down away heater. Being a tall and high release guy, it could look like it's going to be a ball out of the hand, like it's coming straight down, looks like it's going into the ground. But you stick that pitch and you'll get a lot of swings out other stuff. And then it's kind of the opposite, like a shorter guy or a low release guy, like throwing the ball up it's like the same effect. So but a lot of people take that for granted. They think a lot of guys think like,

oh, I really good vertical breakup my fastball. I can just throw it up at all times, but it's just going to make your off speed pitches worse. So that's something I had to learn coming into this organization is burning out a stick, a downin the way heater. I really started throwing that more when I got to the major leagues. I wasn't throwing that enough coming up up through the system, and that's something Prior helped me out with a lot, and he's telling me like, hey, this is this is

a really good throw for you. And I started working on that. And I still do every single bullpen and make sure I can establish that glove side heater before I start throwing anything else. So that's a really important pitch. Bobby Miller is our guest Walker Bueller's on the mountain tonight for thes How impressive has it been to watch him put in the work and obviously be able to

come back and pitch at this level the way he has. Yeah, I mean I know, knowing Walker, I know, I know he expects a lot out of himself and he's a huge competitor, So I'm excited to watch him tonight. You know, it's always a tree being able to watch Walker pitch. He's always been one of my favorite guys to watch in baseball and it's a blessing to being teammates with him, and and I'm pretty good friends

with him now at this point. And but yeah, I love watching Walker pitch, and he's getting better every outing and and he knows what he needs to do. How about your roommate, Evin Stone, He's really starting to put his name amongst some of the better rookies in the National League. It's been a work in progress, but like you, he put in a lot of work during the off season. Yeah, he put in a ton of work and it's obviously showing the steps that he made from last year to this

year. Is is crazy. You know, he's he's became. I mean, he's he's one of the better arms and like all starters right now, he's going deep into games every single start, which is which is really good for our bullpen. And he's given it. I haven't seen him not give the team a chance to win when he's out there, and that's something we really prioritize as a starters. It's just like the main thing is giving the team a chance to win, and he does that every time he's out there.

All right, Bobby, thanks a lot for the time. Glad things are going well for you and we look forward to seeing you on the mound soon. Thank you. There he is my guy, Bobby Miller. We'll send it back to you in the studio. Tim, all right, thanks a lot. DV. Great to hear from Bobby Miller. Hopefully getting close to coming back. Last time out, I have a two third innings, three runs, six hits, four strikeouts and a loss to the Reds. He's facing Colorado for the twentieth time in his career,

We get you ready for the first pitch of the ball game tonight the Dodgers and the Rockies. Walker Bueller against Dakota Hudson. Buehller has faced the Rockies more than any other team in his career'll make his twentieth start against the Rockies.

Just in his last five starts alone, he's three to zero against them. He said, really good success against Colorado, and in his fifth start tonight, he hopes that it translates into more success against that ball club and hopefully gets off to a good start. The first nine batters going through the lineup the first time have been somewhat problematic of three forty three batting average against him and for Bueller five home runs, but they have all been solo home runs,

you know, with runners on base. Walker Buehler's given up just a one sixty seven batting average against He's challenging hitters early and then when he needs to really pick and choose, he's really been on top of it. One key for him so far, and again it's a small sample because we've only seen him in four starts, but he's allowed nine earned runs, five of them more than half have come in the first inning, So he's got to

try to shut it down right away. Yeah, shut it down. And for the Rockies, they have three lefties in the lineup, so predominantly right handed hitters and right handers have hit exactly one hundred against Bueller in his four starts. Left he's hitting three ninety five on the other hand, So that's why Bud Black's got Charlie Blackman, Ezekiel Tovar and Ryan McMahon out there to

start things tonight. Well, as far as Dakota Hudson is concerned, first pitch to him by him has been a problem because he is giving up an average of six thirty three on the first pitch he throws in games, and two of the five home runs he's allowed have also come on the first pitch. Yeah, he's had trouble first nine and the final third time through the lineup. But he's coming off a very good start, maybe his best outing

before the bullpen collapsed. And for Dakota Hudson had a no decision. That was last Saturday against the Phillies. He went six innings, only two runs, five hits, and the Rockies are hoping that was just something that really good. Signs to come. Hudson at one and seven, deal A at one and two, Rockies and the Dodgers. Game one of a three game weekend set here at Dodgers Stadium. Tim should be a good one.
