Dodger Talk is sponsored by LA Care Health Plan, providing affordable healthcare insurance to millions of Angelinos for over twenty five years. And now your voice for Dodger Talking like Back, David Basse. Welcome the Dodger Talk David Masse live at Dodgers Stadium. After the Dodgers come from behind a few different times tonight and they had the final at bat and got the final word on Jock Peterson and the Diamondbacks as they come from behind with two outs to beat Arizona six to

five. We're with you until eleven thirty tonight. Eight six six nine eighty seven two five seventy is the phone number. We have a few lines open, so if you want to get in now, it would be a good time. We do have a one hundred dollars gift card to Superior Grossers to give away tonight as well. Eight six six nine eighty seven two five seventy.

Jose Moto will join us. We'll get you at update on Clayton Kershaw and Mookie Betts had a chance to catch up with Mooki earlier today on our and five to seventy LA Sports Instagram Live series, you can watch the full instagram live from earlier today with Mooki from Dodger Stadium, brought to you by our friends at Navvy and Tankless water Heaters. Visit Tankless Made Simple dot Com.

The Dodgers walk it off six to five, and look, I'll be honest with you, this would have been a really tough loss to talk about because of the way the Dodgers played the first six to seven innings of the game tonight. They had multiple chances to actually give themselves extra breathing room, but they did not cash in when they had those opportunities. And then in the eighth inning, Blake Trinen was not himself at the beginning of that inning.

He spiked what was going to be a sacrifice spunt by Jay McCarthy. It gets by Gavin Lux who was covering second base. Maybe he could have

done a better job to keep it in front of him. Gabrielle Moreno scores the tying run after Otani gave this sellout crowd fifty two nine thirty one life hitting a go ahead two run home run halfway up the right field pavilion, and the Dodgers gave it right back in the top of the eighth inning, and you always hear players, managers, coaches talk about when you score in one half of the inning, it's very important to put up a zero the next half to keep the momentum on your side. You score one, they

score one, You score one, they score two. That's deflating to your dugout into the guys behind you. But luckily for the Dodgers, as Jason Hayward told me in Chicago, and this is a great time to relay this one more time in Chicago, our friend John Hartongue Sports Net LA, the host that is the most unselfish host out there, gave me a heads up.

They were going to ask me what my biggest takeaways of the first eighty one games were, and I thought, you know what, it would be more powerful to ask somebody in that clubhouse what their thoughts is on what stands out the most from the first eighty one games. So I asked my baseball or Dodger twenty twenty four conscience, Jason Hayward, what he thought, and

he gave me a great answer that applies tonight. That the Dodgers have freestyled all season long, whether it's beating the expectations or blocking out the expectations and spring training, with the money, the offseason the Dodgers had, or whether it's the guy's going down with injuries or just individual games like this where they have the freestyle and figure out a way to come back and be resilient. And tonight in the ninth inning, tonight, in the seventh inning, you

saw that from the Dodgers. They could have very easily just said, you know what, Seawald's really good tonight, We're just gonna give up this game and we have a eight to nine game lead, and they did not do that. Will Smith is not giving away at bats. He can't afford to give away at bats. He hasn't been swinging the bat that great, so for him to get a clutch, two out double to put himself in scoring

position got that inning started. And then you have the most professional hitter in Major League Baseball, Freddie Freeman at the plate, who you know, you see other guys get two strikes on him, you become very nervous. You kind of feel like, Okay, this guy is striking out or it's not going the right way. But when Freddie Freeman is down in account o two, you don't have that sort of pessimistic attitude towards what's going to take place.

And I don't know about you, but that's the way I felt standing next to the Dodger Dugout. I thought Freddy had to plan the entire time and the one thing. And I told him this after the game. I have heard him say multiple times, I'm looking for a strike, and he was looking for a strike O two and he was able to drive it to tie the game. And how many times have we talked about the most underappreciated part of Freddie Freeman's game is his base running. Did you know how good

of a base runner Freddie Freeman was when he was playing in Atlanta? I certainly did not. But he values ninety feet and with two outs, and you have a very aggressive third base coach Dino Ebel, who does his homework before every game, knows the strength of the outfield arms, knows the accuracy, knows the tendencies, and he's got a base runner like Freddie Freeman at second base. That was him sending him all the way and the throw is

offline. Freddie Freeman slides home safe. He was out of breath after the game, and the Dodgers win, and the Dodgers needed this win. I know you might say, and the guys in that clubhouse might say, what are you talking about, Vassay, We have a ten game lead in the lost column. We had a seven and a half game lead coming into the game tonight, Padres got shut out by the Rangers seven to nothing. What are you talking about we needed this game? Well, here it is.

You guys just lost a very disappointing series to the Giants, who are not better than the Dodgers, and they got blown out in San Francisco. I don't care how big you think your lead is and how much you think about October. That was embarrassing on Sunday to get blown out at Oracle Park. So the Dodgers needed to come back tonight and win this game and start this series on the right foot. If they lose this game, they have a

losing record against two NLS Division foes they have lost. They have a losing record against the Padres. They're just three and five this year against the Padres, and coming into the game tonight, they were just five hundred against the Diamondbacks, the team, by the way that swept you out of the playoffs in the first round. Let's not forget that either, right, Are we

just just going to forget that part of it too? So that's why this was a big win for me, and it would have been a very disappointing and disheartening loss. Eight six six nine seven two five seventy is the phone number. Let's go out to Gilberto and San Diego. You're on Dodger Talk with David Veasse. All right, I'll put them back on hold for now. Let's head downstairs to sports net La. Kirsten Watson caught up with one of the heroes, ta Oscar Hernandez. Ta Oscar, what's here? You

find yourself in another RBI situation? To walk this one off? What were you seeing from seawall there at the plate? I mean, you know today I was trying to get ready, not to think about anything and just gonna go fish it hit and just put it and play with a win like this. How much fun is it to be a part of with this group? Oh, it's been great, especially here at home. You know the facts.

I love this and I love it too, So every situation I'm gonna be on it, I'm gonna be focused, I'm gonna try to do my job. The All Star vote is coming to an end tomorrow. What would it mean to you to not only be a starter in the All Star Game representing the Dodgers, representing the National League, to get the vote from the fans. I mean it's gonna mean a lot, you know, especially being a far of these team and River Sennata in the All Star Game. It's

gonna be awesome for me. And it's a dream come true. With this win, you guys are setting the tone for this home stand. How import was it to do that? What did you see from Bobby Miller and how he was able to fight back into this one? You know, this was a team win. You know, everybody puts a little bit on it. The move in, Hibbel's stay in the game, and we put some runs and we win the boy game. Right Well, congratulations on the walkof in

this win tonight. Thank you appreciate it. There is ta Oscar Hernandez on sports net LA and I'll say it once again, ta Oscar Hernandez leads all National League outfielders in home runs and RBIs. He belongs on the All Star Team and you can vote for him at MLB dot com slash Vote until tomorrow. Morning at nine am eight six six nine seven two five seventy is the phone number. Dodgers walk it off against the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight, six to

five. Let's go out to Gilberto san Diego. Gilberto, you're on Dodger Talk. Oh total bien grande fiesta tonight at Dodger Stadium. Oh yes, And I I learned something alone time ago that my dad told me you never leave the game until it's over, And tonight was watch just one of those games. I like what I'm seeing. I like the struggles they've been having and how they come through. I love what they did tonight that they never gave up. I think they listened to our conversation from last year that if

they didn't put it together, they will play spirit airlines. Remember that conversation. Oh how can I forget it? But it was great. I mean, I love what they're doing and I hope they keep it going. And I'm gonna go home right now and vote for the Oscar to make sure that he's in the All Star Game. I love it, Gilberto, thanks a lot for the phone call. You can also vote for Mookie Bets and show

hey o Tani Ghetto TONI the most votes of any National League player. And also, I know Mookie's not going to play, but man, what an honor it would be if Dodger fans show Mookie the love and made him an All Star as a shortstop. That would mean a lot. And you can hear his thoughts on it on our IG live on the A five seventy LA sports account. Let's go out to Danny, who is at Dodger Stadium tonight part of a sellout crowd. Danny, I hope you stayed all the way

through. Well, you know I did, Dave. I could never leave. I saw people hitting the exits when Otani struck out of the ninth, and I don't know how you do that. Man. You got Will Smith and Freddie Freeman coming up one run down. You can't leave that game, and they showed you exactly why let him? Let it come back? And I love what you were saying about. It's yeah, it's July one and they got a big lead in the they lose this one. What's the big

deal. But the reason you want to win Thames is because a game like a fourth late innings sworn runs, you want to win that game. You know this is like, that was like a playoff type of game because of the sosos of it. Those are the types of games you want to win. If you're a championship team, you're gonna win those games. And great

job on Bobby Miller. I was walking up to the stadium stay talking to myself, and I'm like, what would be a good Bobby Miller start today, considering you know, the season's happened, and I was thinking to myself, you know what, five innings, two runs, I'll take it. And that's exactly what we got. Dave, great game to day, heck of a comeback by the boys. Love it, Danny Way to stay all the way through, Appreciate it. Eight six, six nine, eight seven,

two five seventy. You know, Bobby Miller showed me something in that fourth inning because we have seen innings like that just completely implode. And Bobby gave up the game tying to run home run to the Dodger killer, Christian Walker. But after that he loaded the bases and he there was nobody out.

That game could have got away from Bobby and the Dodgers really quick, like we have seen in other starts that he has made, but he kept his composure, and he found a way to get out of that fourth inning throwing thirty one pitches. I mean that the game could have got away right there in the fourth inning with bases loaded and nobody out, but then he was able to get Alec Thomas, then Heraldo Perdomo, and also was able to get Corbyn Carroll, who was not the same Corbin Carroll from a year

ago, to end the inning. So he retires the side in order after giving up a game tying to run home run and also loading the bases with nobody out. That showed me a lot. Let's head downstairs right now, speaking up my guy Bobby Miller. He's speaking to reporters on Sports at LA. Definitely, I wish I could have given him more innings, but at the end of the day, it's a step forward for me. I mean,

to get away with this stuff I had today. I feel pretty good about it because that definitely was not my best stuff today, but I got away with it and got through five biggest part of the game was definitely bases loaded. Now it's really glad I got that. Got a lot really like energetic after that, and Doc talked to me a little bit settled down a little bit, re group, and that's what I usually do after showing a

lot of emotion out there. You know, I'll just deep brass regroup and go back and get a shutdown inning because I knew the game was close on a new our offense was gonna do the job and get us back in the game. Hey, Bobby Miller was top stepping at the rest of the game. He was where his feet were during that fourth inning and that's how he was able to get out of that bases loaded, nobody out jam eight six six nine seven two five seventy is the phone number, by the way,

want to add insult to injury. Do you really want Jock Peterson coming into your own house, the team that he used to play for October in July to beat you with two outs and running the bases and showing that emotion after being embarrassed two out of three in San Francisco. That would not have set well with me. And uh. Thankfully the Dodgers were able to be resilient in that ninth inning and have the guys that they count on, Will Smith,

Freddie Freeman and Taoscar Hernandez come to the rescue. Let's go out to Justin who is part of the sellout crowd tonight, Justin, you're on Dodger Talk. Hey, Dave, long time listener, first time caller. Appreciate you having me on. Yeah, it was a great atmosphere, especially that show. Hey, home run the place exploded. Love being there for that. I just wanted to comment on the resiliency that everybody's been talking about.

It's great to see the guys siding back when you know things aren't going great. That fourth inning was huge, especially hard to tell from my seat, but I seem like Bobby really only had his fastball working, you know, the way it's supposed to. So yeah, he actually showed a good curveball to get himself out of that basis loaded jam. In the fourth inning, he started doubling up on the curveball. So the curveball was a weapon for him tonight as well. Great to see it. And yeah, and hopefully

you know, works out the kings. He just said, you know, didn't have his best stuff, and that just shows, you know, his not best stuff gets us, you know, five innings of two run ball. Hopefully that's a good sign for the rest of the year. Once he does get it. Strained out, So all right, justin thanks a lot for the phone call, appreciated. Eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy is the phone number. Another layer to this series and why tonight was

such a big win. The Dodgers get the win tonight. Before the game today, the Diamondbacks place Tomorrow's scheduled starter, Jordan Montgomery on the injured list with right knee inflammation. So the Diamondbacks are scrambling for a starter tomorrow. With Zach Gallon looming in the final game of this series. The Diamondbacks lined up Gallen specifically to pitch on Thursday against the Dodgers here at Dodgers Stadium. So if you lose this game and you have Zach Gallon looming on Thursday,

who is really good? You have an uphill climb to try to win this series and that would have been problematic. Eight six six nine eighty seven two five seventy is the phone number. Dodgers walk it off with two outs in the nine against the Snakes six to five. Let's go out to Eric in Hollywood. You're on Dodger Talk. How you doing, Eric, God Jered day shot? Wow, what a great win. David will Smith stepping up

against Seawold. The guy had a point zero five four er. Great job Will Smith, I mean, his bat hasn't been there, but he came up tonight. Then Freddy bringing it home. And gotta give it up to Bobby m I know everybody's been mentioning to him right now, but man, base is loaded after giving up the tying up and tying the game up and then he just he just took care of business after that. Man, Good

job, Bobby. I hope he's turning something around for him. And you're right, man, the snake suck and it just it's great to see the Dodgers balling. And migal Rojas had a little bit of kind of like some balls hit to him and stuff like that. But you know what, I'm not tripping, you know what I mean. The team stepped up, everybody rallied around, and they won this game. And that's what and that's what

I love about this team. You know what I mean. You're gonna run into some little missteps here and there, and you know what, Hey, you're not gonna get to every ball, but guess what, we won the game. We won the game, and that's the most important thing. Yo, David feeling it. Obie here feeling it in Hollywood, bro feeling it. Let's take the series, man, I'm loving it all right, Eric, thanks a lot for the phone call. Appreciate it. Eight six six

nine eighty seven two five seventy is the phone number. Dodgers walk it off against the Diamondbacks six to five. It was a two out rally against Diamondbacks closer Paul Sewald Will Smith with a two out double and Freddie Freeman followed with a double of his own to tie the game and ta Oscar Hernandez to win it in the bottom of the ninth inning. We had a chance to catch up with Freddy moments after the winning run was scored by fast Freddie Freeman.

I'm here with Wheels Freeman. Not only does he tie the score, but he scores the winning run. Take us through being down two against Sea Wall, who was pretty tough against lux and Otani before you. Yeah, you know, I just we know. He's got a good heater that has a lot of riyes, just trying to be on top of it, straight to it. So he likes sater in certain counts and he should be out top of the eater. I heard you in my head saying I'm looking for strikes.

Yeah, I should show you at the first one, and I would a strike two, but I took that one. But uh no. Overall, what a great heaving to We'll get it going, getting it through and ending it Freddy, When Tao Oscar gets that ball through the left side of the endfield, what are you is seeing? As far as the read from second base, all I'm seeing is looking at Tino. I'm trying to give everything I got, and you know I'm gonna go and until he stops me. And he was waving his arm, so I gave everything I got.

Does it make it easier to get a secondary with two outs? You know? I was trying to get a secondary, but the teams we've been playing lately have been running a lot of second base back picks, so I was kind of looking for a glove dropping that situation. So I was a little bit shorter on my leave. I was trying to make a big secondary and hit off. Ever since you became a Dodger, we have valued how much you value ninety feet. That was really fun to watch you score from second

I appreciate it. Bribably, isn't looking very fast out there, but I'm going to fast not good. I I I'll score. Hey, it counted. I appreciate. Thank you, Dared there. He is Freddie Freeman, one of not only the best hitters in baseball, but one of the best base runners in baseball. He is just a complete player, and he certainly is a pleasure to watch. Eight six six nine eighty seven, two five seventy is the phone number. We're going to take a time out here on

Dodger Talk. We have three lines open at eight six six ninety seven, two five seventy. We will check in with Jose Mota. We'll get you an update on Mookie Beds and Clayton Kershaw. And we still have that one

hundred dollars gift card to give away to Superior Grocers. We're with you until eleven thirty tonight, live from Dodgers Stadium after the Dodgers win in dramatic fashion six to five over the Diamondbacks on the Los Angele Angelis Dodgers Audio Network on air at AM five to seventy, online at AM five to seventy, LA sports dot com, and available by podcast on the iHeartRadio app. This is Dodger Talk with David Bassan Raymond one second Sea wall out of the stretch,

hernandezquells a ball base hit on field. Freddy's gonna be waved around. The throw in from Gurriel hits off the place tail. Thank hero again. The Dodgers walk off the Bebacks. He's being pop between second and third, six five the final. The Dodgers score two runs with two out of the bottom of the ninth inning with their last breath. They take the series opener from Arizona. Rick Monday and Stephen Nelson on the call tonight as the Dodgers defeat

the Diamondbacks six to five in Game one of this three game series. This is Dodger Talk. David Vasse with you until the bottom of the hour, and our friends at Daniels Jewelers. They are the official sponsor of the trip around the diamond Stop by any Daniel's location and say home run for your free team bracelet and fifty dollars gift card toward any purchase of ninety nine dollars or more. Daniels Jewelers own the Dream. I will say this. We got

to give Gavin Luck some props. In the seventh inning, he let off the bottom of the seventh inning with a walk to set up show Hey Otani's monster go ahead two run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Otani's home run just would have tied the game if Lux does not turn the lineup over by getting on base with a leadoff walk. That was one of the best at bats that I've seen Lux have in that ninth spot this year.

Eight six six nine seven two five seventy is the phone number. Show Hey Otani tonight recorded his five hundredth and five hundred and first RBIs with that two run home run that went and estimated four hundred and thirty three feet. He is on fire. And I was, you know, I'm not trying to name drop here, but Brad Paisley was in the house and we were talking about Otani that this does not seem like a hot streak for Otani.

His cold streak of that twenty five game stretch before Father's Day that seemed to be an outlier more than what we're seeing right now. Otani, though, is on fire. I feel like this is another level. Since taking over the leadoff spot because of Mookie's injury, Otani is hitting three eighty. He's been just a monster for the Dodgers since Father's Day. And if you remember, on Father's Day he was hitting second. That's when he broke out of

his slump when he hit two home runs. Speaking Mookie Betts, we had a chance to catch up with MOOKI on our and five to seventy LA Sports Instagram Live this afternoon, and he is not wearing a cast. It's more of a metal brace that gives his fingers a little bit more breathing room. And I found it interesting that he revealed he gets scans, whether it's an X ray or maybe a little bit more of a detailed scan on his left hand every week to check on the progress of the healing of his bones in

his left hand. And he said, by all accounts, it's healing nicely, so he's encouraged. And he was throwing earlier this afternoon from about ninety feet out there on the left field grass with Brandon McDaniel, and he had Dino Ebels's youngest son, Trey, catching for him like a quarterback getting ready for a game, because he obviously can't put the glove on and catch. So that's the this on Mookie Betts and later in the show, we will get you on that date, update on Clayton Kershaw, and we will get

more of your phone calls here. But first we want to check in with our guy, Jose Moda. It's tough to go around the horn with Jose Mota, all right, Jose Mota, be honest with us. Did you feel like the game was over with two outs in that ninth inning? Freddy Freeman up, No, never you mentioned it. Freddie Freeman understands situations. And the game's not over, Freddie, until the last ruck is thrown. And for Freddy to say score it up against together. That's been so tough

against everybody else. At some point you know the battle is going to shift the other way against Sea Wold, and tonight was his night. I mean, think about this too. If you have that base open and you're thinking about who's hitting behind and Freddy he saw the first pitch was the slider right on the black outside. Okay, a little back door slider. But Freddy has to have the ability to say it doesn't matter if the visit to the

Mountain was about being careful and pitching. To me, pitchers do make mistakes, and O two is exactly what Sewell did not want to do. Freddie was ready to hit. There's some hitters now that they know very well in that type of situation, they get themselves caught thinking, well, maybe he wasn't gonna bitch to me, baby. No. No, Freddy's like pitch to me. I expect to see something. Because he's also telling himself don't expand his own because they're going to be careful with you. But you have

to be ready to hit strikes, and he was. And also Will Smith was the one that started that too out rally. He did not let Seawall get too deep in the count. He was very aggressive early on. How important was that? That was huge because you know, Will Smith had a very poor month of May, very poor month of June, and he's been

missing pitches where he's been getting out of the ball early in counts. He's very good with two strikes, but I think right now the best thing is going to benefit him is to be aggressive early and try to drive the baseball, especially a big part of the field, which Aaron Base speaks to me a lot about. You know, certain times against hitters, he goes, I don't want the homer, I want a line drive up the middle. As how as you can and let the ball travel whatever's going to do.

But certainly he wants an aggressiveness and I think for will Smith, hopefully that's a good indication because he did a good, very tough picture today. Jose, How big of a win is this for the Dodgers? I felt like this would have been a tough one to swallow with the way the Dodgers played late in this game and Jock Peterson hitting the go ahead home run off of

Phillips with two outs. How big of a win is it considering the Dodgers just got beat pretty badly in San Francisco, and you know, they would have had a losing record against Arizona if they lost tonight. Oh, Dave, there's no doubt. I can say enough that you have to learn and you have to enjoy winning games like this. It's great to blow people away.

That's great to blow out you know, but you have to learn how to win games like this, and is by staying on the game every single out, every single pitch, and then not having to and only on the middle of your order. It's a great blessing when it comes up that way and they do their jobs. But you know, with a nine to nine record coming into today. In one run games, you figure something goes amid sometimes in these type of situations, and it's not about looking for the long

ball. It's about having good productive bass to Oscar give him a lot of credit. Today, Telsker put the ball in play and he ended up with your RBIs And that's something that he has been speaking to me about. He goes. It seems like sometimes I get myself thinking too much about driving instead of just going. What's a situation calling for? Is it maybe a ground

out to take the RBI? But it is big. But Dave, you know I was talking about like Whitey Herz when I was a kid, telling me something like this about winning games like this, about the playoffs and just getting your mind ready as he did for his teams in Saint Louis and other Buck clubs. But understand that these games are the ones that drain you the most, and these are the games that you enjoy winning also the most.

No doubt, mister Momentum was changing jerseys quite a bit tonight, and the Dodgers had the last laugh six to five, coming from behind with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning. Jose Mota joins us after the Dodgers beat the Diamondback six to five at Dodgers Stadium. And I don't know if you heard what I said earlier, but you know, Shoho Tani has really caught fire after hitting two hundred for a twenty five game stretch. You've seen

him more than I have. Is this the norm or is this higher than the normal baseline for Otani when he's hot? Oh, this has been elevated because of the environment and the expectations. And yeah, honestly the contract and everything that's on showhial tiny right now and talk about leading off, and you know he knows and expects in just in Joe's the moment. I mean, Japanese Sarah is nine fifty two thousand plus the Dodgers get over two million today,

by the way, in forty second date, that's pretty amazing. But to come up in that situation and hit a ball as long as he when the whole stadium is like, I want to see shoy here at home run as a fan, right, and there it was. He delivered once again. It's like following the script. And I mean, I always think that you are a product of your environment. I'll never stop saying that I believe in that I've seen it happen wait too many times in this environment, and

his teammates are making him take it to a new level. It's pretty amazing. All right, Jose, thanks a lot for checking in. We'll see you tomorrow night at Dodgers Stadium, Dodgers looking to make it two in a row over the Snakes. Buenos Nochez. All right, Buenos Nochez. Jose Mota part of the Dodgers Spanish radio broadcast with Pepe and Ninguez, who has one of the great voices in broadcasting, and the legendary Fernando Valenzuela. Eight

six six ninety seven two five seventy is the phone number. Dodgers beat the Diamondbacks tonight six to five in front of a sellout crowd of fifty two thousand, nine hundred and thirty one. Let's go back out to the phones. Roy in Van Nice, you're on Dodger Talk live from Dodger Stadium. Hi, Roy, Hey, it's great to hear from you. Hey. You know, speaking of Otani, he reminds me of when Mark McGuire had a sixty home run season in Saint Louis I was in Saint Louis and it was

a similar deal. I mean, mcguild was just swatting bombs, you know, and you had that same and the thing that you mentioned, It's like, is this guy from another planet? You know? I mean it was it was saying kind of a similar thing. Just amazing, you know. I mean every home run it seemed it was a bomb, you know, and he carried it through the whole season. Yeah, I can't. You know. McGuire was a right handed hitter. He was a slugger. He

was a really good first baseman. But I feel like Otani being a left handed hitter and doing what he's doing. The closest thing I could think of as far as this dominant and the mystique that surrounds him is very Bonds and we all know what you know took place with Bonds in San Francisco. But he was a great hitter and a great player. You can't take that away from him. Thanks for the phone call, Roy, Let's go out to Trey in West LA. You're on Dodger Talk. How are you doing,

Trey David? Hello, sir, how are you my man? Well? I'm doing better now than I was in the top of the ninth inning. Well, I feel you there. Excellent, Yes, indeed, and you know, cheers to Giberto and Jose Mota as we definitely know, you never leave the game and over till it's over. Kudos to Bobby for really focusing in that fourth. I agree with you. He definitely showed some growth there. And you know, what a hell of a win. Jerry Harriston Junior

said it after the game. Even you know it's Tuesday, we're playing the Diamondbacks, and you know it's early July. But this really was the heck of a win, a real confidence boost me win. And if we might go back to a couple earlier calls that we had for everyone that was calling for chopping heads in you know, late April, early May with Taylor and you know, Monday, Monday quarterbacking on Doc's decisions. You know, baitball

is like the ocean when you're surfing. You got to respect it, you got to be patient, you ride the highs and the lows, and ultimately you come out that tube and victory. And that's what we did tonight and just a great win. I really appreciate it, and just everybody listening right now God bless this team and want to wish everyone God blessed wonderful Independence Day for the greatest country, the United States of America. Everyone have a wonderful

holiday. Are you reading from a prepared statement right now? Trey, No, sir, No, sir. This is exceparaneous. All those that was very eloquent. Thank you for the phone call. I appreciate that. And we'll see you on fourth of July, hopefully here at Dodger Stadium a great fireworks show after Thursday night's game against the Diamondbacks. Seventy is the phone number. Let's go out to Luis in La. You're on Dodger Talk. Hi, Luis, Hi, David like like I mean, I'm like you right

now after the Ninetheenny, I'm excited about the win. Glad they pulled it off. This is one of the most exciting wins in the season, other than the Game two of the Yankee Series in New York when when Oscar hit the Grand Slam. Yeah, the Oscar to the rescue that night too. Of course, we've got to vote him in anyway. Just concerned about about

the bullpen. Everybody besides Ramirez and Daniel Hudson, but I know who would have thought that Blake trining And yeah, Blake, Blake's not looking like himself lately. And Evan Phillips, you know, he's been human here lately. He'll get it back on track. He's got pitches that you have to have a feel for. But Blake Trinon has looked very human the last week or

so, so I'm with you. Louise. Hey, Louis, you mentioned voting for Teoscar Hernandez mouki Otani. If I give you this one hundred dollars gift card to Superior Grocers, will you vote the rest of the night. Yeah, I'll vote. Done. You get that one hundred dollars gift card to Superior Grocers. Luise, thanks for listening. All right, thanks a lot, Dad, All right, man, Luis gets that one hundred dollars gift card to Superior Grocers. And for another chance to win, listen Sunday

through Thursday games in the top of the sixth inning for Andre Ethier. Yes, the real Andre Ethier's Q to call and you could win a one hundred dollars gift card to Superior Grocers. Stream all the games in HD on the iHeartRadio app. Keyword and five to seventy LA sports. All right, we

had a chance before tonight's exciting finish to catch up with Clayton Kershaw. As you know, after his first rehab start, he felt soreness in his left shoulder felt even more when he was trying to throw a bullpen session after that rehab start, and the Dodgers had to throttle him back. Today was the first day we've seen him since all that took place, and Kershaw actually walked

up to me and a couple of beat riders and offered some answers. You know, I feel like it's been pretty the upward trajectory has been pretty steady, you know, up to this point. And I don't really want to call it a setback. I just think it's just like just getting your feet underneath you a little bit. And I don't feel like it'll delay the process by that much. And you know it today felt good and I'll throw a

bullpen here pretty soon and get right back at it. I don't know, you know, I don't know, so just it could be part of it. It could be just a little hiccup. I don't know, but you know, I was able to get some shots and feel better with it and kind of go from there. Dave said that there was the way he put it was when you had the MRIO show no new incident, was that a

relief or yeah, definitely. I mean nothing nothing new, you know, it's just there's some old man shoulder a little bit, you know, there's somewhere and tire in there, but nothing new, so which kind of means you can kind of push through stuff, you know. So that's what that's what I'm gonna do. And you know, I think having this little, you know, couple of day reset should help. All right, There's Clayton

Kershaw giving us an update on how his left shoulder is feeling. And look, he sounded relieved that that MRI did not show any new damage to that left shoulder. He's gonna throw a bullpen session tomorrow and we'll see how he comes out of it. But after that, but I'll be very transparent with you. He's coming off a major shoulder surgery. He hasn't had a bump in the road up until this shoulder soreness over the course of the last seven or ten days. The way I look at it and the way the Dodgers

are approaching the July thirtieth trade deadline. You can't count on Kershaw. That's an extra bonus if you get Kershaw back, and he's any semblance of the way he was two or three years ago. To me, you can't count on Kershaw. You can't count on Yamamoto. And that's why you're reading and hearing more buzz around the league that the Dodgers are prioritizing starting pitcher that can start a playoff game for them, not just a guy at the back end

of the rotation to piecemeal it through the regular season. They're looking for a higher end starter, whether that's Garrett Crochet or Kevin Gossman. They're looking for those type of guys. Crochet obviously is the prize of the trade deadline, But the issue is there's not a lot of supply on the market, and the Baltimore Orioles are looking for Garrett Crochet just as much as the Dodgers are, and so are the San Diego Padres, so there's competition for him,

and the White Sox cannot miss on this trade for Garrett Crochet. They desperately need talent in their organization. They are going to do their due diligence and

just take the best offer. I know, I've talked to people in the White Sox organization directly and they have said, send your best offers, and if that turns into a bidding war for your best offer, whoever steps up is going to get Garrett Crochet. And Garrett Crochet I know maybe you haven't seen him pitch, but you saw him pitch against the Dodgers lineup last week and he did not back down and a lot of people were impressed with his stuff and his moxie on the mound. So you know he's number one.

After that, you know, you could go for Kevin Gossman. You could bolster your bullpen as well with Tanner Scott, who knows. Also with the way things are going right now in Major League Baseball, specially in the National League, with so many teams currently within earshot of the last wildcard spot. He got almost half of the National League separated by just five games of the

last wildcard spot. Some obviously more realistic than others, but there are teams that are under five hundred, like the Diamondbacks, who are just three games back of the final wildcard spot, which is currently held by the San Diego Padres. My point being is, let's say the trade deadline comes and goes,

and some of these teams fall further and further back. Will some of these teams copycat what the Angels did last year when they acquired all these players to make a run for it, trying to entice Otani or one last run with Otani guys like Lucas Giolito, they fall further back. I think they lost nine to ten after the trade deadline. Arty Moreno says, you know what, we're out of put these guys on waivers, so I'm not over

the luxury tax. It feels like other teams took notice of that. And who knows, you may have some really good starting pitchers with multi year contracts for a big price tag that only a handful of teams would be willing to take on, including the Dodgers. So that's also a possibility. Eight six six ninety seven two five seventy is the phone number. Dodgers beat the Diamondbacks tonight, six to five. Let's go out to Portland. Aaron, thanks a lot for being patient. Hi, thank you for of course, nice

to talk to you again. David, my pleasure. What'd you think about the game tonight. I'm gonna say I've already voted. You did you're cannandos. Yes, you've maxed out your votes, Hi, Aaron, Yes, yes, well no, but I was just gonna say that I think that this game is proving that, you know, even though like we we're coming under a different circumstances and we're just kind of digging up and to come up to a mountain is what it is. Hey, you gotta look at it.

You gotta look at it like the Dodgers do erin the bottles half full, the bottles not having bottle is always full. Oh sounds like an Aaron. Keep the party going up there, Thanks a lot for the phone call. Hey, Tomorrow night to game over, Eric Ganye is going to be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch. Tomorrow is the twentieth anniversary of Ganye securing his eighty fourth consecutive safe It is still a Major League record, and he

is going to be back out here at Dodger Stadium. And last night Ganie joined us on Dodger Talk. It means the world of me. It's really special just to be part of that team, part of that uh, you know, amazing history and people talk about the Drysdale, the Sandy Coo facts and you all the stories I got from Maury Wills, and it's a very very special organization. It's something that I was very fortunate coming from Montreal.

There's a lot of history there with Jackie Robinson playing in Montreal. So I felt like being a Dodger it's something I know, something I love, something I'm really proud of and really honored to be part of. And you know, once a Dodger, are always a Dodger. Tommy said the best, you know, I bleed Blue. I'm a Dodger from you know, through and through. It's just that's what I do, That's what I am.

It's a it's going to be very emotional. I think it's when the music turns on, when the fans get up, when I'm up there, it's still feeling the you know, the energy that the fans used to give me. Feel that before the game. It's going to be unbelievable. So I'm I'm crazy, you know, It's it's crazy to think that I've had that type of career coming from Montreal. But to be honor, to be honored of down the Stadium. It's part be part of the great history of the

Dodgers. It's it's very special. Kudos to the Dodgers for recognizing that tomorrow is the twentieth anniversary of that Major League record eighty four consecutive saves and Gannie being asked to throw out the ceremonial first pitch, so should be fun and no doubt that theatrics will be in place for Guns n' roses. Welcome to the jungle, just like when Ganie would come through those bullpen gates in two thousand and three on his way to the National League Cy Young Award. And

after all that, Gavin Stone is making a name for himself. He'll add to that tomorrow night. He's nine to two with an ERA of two seventy three. That's the lowest ERA by any Dodger starter this year. We're not sure who the Diamondbacks are starting, but Jordan Montgomery was supposed to start, and the Diamondbacks put him on the il with right knee inflammation. Morongo Casino Dodgers on Deck begins at six o'clock tomorrow with first pitch at seven ten.

That'll do it for us Tonight from Dodgers Stadium.
