Owen Nestor is the toast of many Galway parishes for his poems and ballads. He lost the sight of one eye when a sod of turf fell off a cart and hit him. The explanation for his self deprecating soubriquet, ‘the half blind Quarter poet’ is now clear. (First Broadcast 1995)
