In 1926, Dr Douglas Hyde launched the first radio station in the Irish Free State, 2RN. This was the start of something very special in Ireland. In ‘Forty Years of Irish Radio’, RTE’s PP Maguire looks at the history of Irish radio, how it was perceived by the public and meets the men and women who helped make it a success.
