S1E87: Disaster Response with James Roberson, founder of 516 Project

In this episode, I have a great conversation with James Roberson, founder of the 516 Project. We discuss how the organization got started and the mission.  We discuss how James faced his fear and took bold action to found the organization.  We also discuss considerations for disaster preparedness.

James Roberson is the founder and President of 516 Project, a non-profit construction and disaster relief ministry. James’ background in construction, disaster relief, entrepreneurship, and holding C-Suite level positions in multiple companies has set him up for success in business and life. Initially founded 516 Project as a side project and way to give back to the community in 2016. Quickly it was evident that God had bigger plans for the organization and James went full-time in July of 2018. James has led and coordinated groups of 1000s of volunteers to help disaster victims recover and rebuild after floods, hurricanes, and tornadoes. He has worked with multiple government and non-government agencies in multiple states to make the recovery process more efficient and cost-effective.

James did not attend college and is a strong believer in workforce and trades training. Though a lot of time is spent traveling after disasters James grew up and still resides in Fredericksburg, Va. He is married and has 3 children ages 14, 10, and 8.
