In 1964, 9 year old Marise Chiverella walked to school alone for the first time. It would also be the last. Somewhere in her six-block walk, someone abducted her. Her still-warm body was found within hours; the child had been raped and murdered. Despite scores of suspicious persons of interest, police could not pin the crime on anyone. It took 58 years and an incredibly complicated forensic genealogy process to pinpoint Marise’s killer, someone who lived nearby and struck again 10 years later – or tried to.
