Episode description

4/07/07 ... Hands down... the most memorable night I ever heard Peter Rauhofer spin in New York City. This was the opening night of his "Work" party in Stereo, 555 W 33rd St. That night there was just something about the beats... It was almost like he was spinning as if he had something to prove and he turned it HARD! After the Roxy closed Peter brought in different DJs every saturday night excluding his monthly residency, which i rarely ever missed. Djs like Tom Stephan, Offer Nissim, Hector Fonseca, Cajjmere Wray, Stephan Grondin and another favorite, DJ Paulo, all gave it a go in Stereo. It was a time of change in the New York City night life and the house music scene. With the closing of the Roxy which felt more glamorous at times, this venue had a much more grimy dark underground feel to it... with beats to match. A set I originally titled New Electrotribe Mix in 2007, I now dedicate to Peter and the DJs that made the Work parties in Stereo such a success.
