Episode description

Essential to the craft, interviewing can be one of the most difficult tasks a journalist and an interviewee must undergo.

Sometimes emotional, sometimes prickly or stilted or effortless, interviews range from those acquiring basic information to delving deep into some of the more painful moments of a person's life. The pursuit of truth on behalf of citizens can result in uncomfortable exchanges with elected officials, or it can blossom into an intimate moment revealing life's truths in a way only human connection can.

In this episode of the DispatchCast, Brainerd Dispatch staffers share what they've learned about interviewing, some of the defining interview moments they've experienced and how those moments have changed how they report.

Plus, catch up on some newsroom changes, including an introduction to the newest reporter on staff, Frank Lee.
