You could pop them into the video if you remember, but you probably won't. Dang. Dang. Dang, hello, everybody, and welcome to this episode of the Disc Golf Answer Man. I am Bobby. Cool daddy, slick breeze, and I got with me Eric McCabe. You must be chilly McCabe. McCabe, I'm just gonna throw it in there. Best nickname of of all time. Of all time. Yeah. Well, I notice you have a hoodie on. It's not a hoodie, it's a long sleeve performance tee. Oh my bad.

What's it say on the front? Alaska disc golf. Oh nice, it's. From Meyer Lake these are nice it. Is it's not from Georgia? It it and it's 70° outside and it's 10. It is. It's chilly when I left. This morning it was nice I. Left the house at like 7 and it was like. It is cold. I left the house at 5:00 in the morning going to the gym. I had to wear my hat 'cause my head was cold. But yes, it was Cheney a beat. No, it was a hat.

It was a ball cap. All right, so we are back here in Emporia, KS. I say that because it's been a while since we've done a an episode. I've traveled to Idyllwild. You have been to. Ohio. Ohio. Iowa. Iowa all course stuff or? Yeah, OK, Yep. What is the latest with course design? The latest and greatest, Well, I just travelled to Iowa, like I mentioned and did a redesign on a course out there that I did a few years back, actually. You went there, Piasta. Oh yeah, Piasta.

I was going to see if you still had that coverage, that footage from. I mean, it's on our YouTube channel. Drove down Main St. in the RV. If I remember, I'll put the clip here. And if you're wondering why it wasn't here, it's 'cause he forgot, right? But no, they, they put a sidewalk in on that, that property. So I came in and, and moved a couple holes around. I haven't, I actually have a video that I'm putting out about

that. So if you want to be more in tune with that, check out my YouTube channel. And then I'm also working on a course in Washington state. I think we've discussed this one out of Oak Harbor and Celina, TX as well is another one that I've been working on and we're we're just now getting to the phase of the contractors cutting the fairways and and then I'll travel back down and and officially mark everything so. Very cool. Yeah. All right.

Do you find that, like at this, like disc golf season isn't? I mean, we've still got quite a few. We still got through October. Feels like it's over. I know it feels like it's like winding, like really winding down. Down, I guess, is the better term. They're not over. Do you think does course design pick up slow down still stay the same? I think it stays close to the

same. My busy season, I would say is is upon us because a lot of times when there's thick woods and those kind of things, I'd like to be there when everything's dormant. So in the winter sense to go through, I can see sight lines a little easier. Just makes it a little little a little less wild, I guess walking through Poison Ivy and thorns and ticks and all that fun stuff. You could do it in the winter when you can see that you can actually navigate.

A little easier, I can see that for sure. But yeah, season's not over. I guess we've still got USDT. C yeah, USDTC, we got the the Disc Golf Pro Tour Championship. Yeah, Isn't that is that, is that, do I remember right? Is it match play or is that like it's something? No, they're doing match play throughout the year. But I, I. Don't know, I thought the championship was mass play. I know who knows what they do.

I've been following a couple of podcasts to kind of keep up, but man, there's so much out there to keep up with. So much, so much. What do you listen? I notice sometimes you listen to disc golf podcast. What do you listen to as far as to keep up with disc golf? I, I, I'll, I'll go to my 4 again. I don't even know what's called your 4U page, but your YouTube channel and just kind of look at what's, what's popping out. I, I take in a lot of it, actually.

I'll listen to Ulta world occasionally Foundation Griplock to listen to those dudes talk for a while. Goodness, what else do I listen to? And then I just, I'll just take in like J Millie stuff. Bodanza, I like him a lot. We did a couple videos together. So yeah, I, I, whatever. If it's disc golf related I'll probably watch it. I need to reach out to Bodanza to get him on the show because I'd like to learn a little bit more about him to have an interview. I liked it, yes. The upshot?

I listened to Griplock I listened to and then one that I surprisingly and nothing, no offense, nothing against them, but surprisingly. Don't listen. To disc golf world. Oh yeah, I listen to them. Yeah, yeah. I'll, I'll listen to them. Like for a while I felt like they were kind of click baity, like, you know, I. Mean they are to an to an extent, but some. Felt like they were worse. Yeah, I don't think I think they've got some feedback from from their fan base, but I enjoy it.

I mean, it's quick. It talks about the event that just happened, everything that you needed to know that went down. I, I do, I I'll listen. I they're on my sub list with the little bell and I get notifications when they drop things so. Smash that bell. Yeah. Now I say, no offense. I didn't mean. What I meant was at the beginning when I first got back into like, OK, I need to like, just really start soaking into

social media disco stuff. It felt like a lot of their stuff was sensationalized, like the TMZ of disc golf, and it feels like that's either slowed down or or whatever. But yeah, they're one that like. I feel like Ultra World used to be like that, though. That used to be the TMZ style of we don't care, we're going to talk about our opinions and things like that, and they've kind of toned back a little bit and just done like player interviews or things like that.

You didn't even mention Smashbox. I mean I watch it all day Tuesday because that literally lasts how long it is. That's an old running joke. No, occasionally I have watched Smashbox. I, I, I'll watch it depending, sometimes it depends on who's on the show or if I just get a notification that they're live, you know? It's just not my, it's not my thing. The long, long format.

I know some people enjoy it and a lot of people enjoy it and, and kudos to Terry and and Johnny V Obviously they've been around for the longest time, but I just like the, I like the quick bites of disc golf world and some of the other guys especially like Griplock. Well, they'll do a full episode and then they'll put it into like 1012 minute chunks like I'll listen to on the way to work or on the way to the gym. And so I get little bites in which that's what I really.

Debate Night Do you ever watch Debate Night? I have watched a few debate night depending on the topic and that's something that I even mentioned to you that maybe that something be fun to kind of get into is like grab a couple of our team players or something like that. Just have a round table. Discussion. Just get on discuss we. Already have the round table,

It's right there. We do have a round, a a triangle, and no, we don't have a triangle, no. That would be kind of wild, a triangle. A triangle table, yeah. So anyway, I don't know why I went on off on that tangent. That's a good tangent. If you're watching, if you're not, if you're just listening, I apologize, but if you're watching, we have several discs on our table that we're going to talk about.

We have a lot of new releases, some that are already out, some that are coming out very soon and that some that actually won't come out till another month, but we're super excited about them. If you are watching or listening to this on Spotify, we do upload the video on Spotify since Spotify is kind of pushing the whole video. But if you are an audio only listeners, you'll have to come check out the clips to see the actual disc. But we'll talk about it so before.

And I also want to talk about some events that we have coming up as well. So, but first let's jump into something that's already out and that is the fusion heist. Now, we released the heist in a lucid orbit, which went over very well. It kind of had a little bit of a slow start, but I think as people started learning more about it, they grabbed a hold of it, and they're loving the heist. Yeah, it's a good disk. So now we have the fusion that just came out last Thursday, I

believe. Yeah, So last Thursday. So tell us about the heist. Eric, what were you thinking when you said this needs to be a disk? It's to be a disk. Well, you know how much I love the trespass. Yes, how much I have preached about the trespass for. Let's see 12 years, however long that disc has been out But and and there's just something about a beat in seasoned trespass. And that to me is exactly what the heist is so fresh out the box.

If you need a seasoned trespass, this is exactly what you're going to be reaching for. For me, I love Heiser flipping it and getting nice big turnover shots for my week forehand. It does work great for Heiser flips on that as well, and I know Bobby uses it a lot for even I don't want to say like full on headwind drives, but if you need a consistent stable shot, you are reaching for your heist right now at least great disc, though. I I I'm very excited about it

and I think fusion these fusion. It just looks really clean. The the plastic feels nice. I mean it doesn't feel like some of that older like I don't know how to explain the old fusion stuff that felt like it would beat in relatively fast. This stuff feels very durable and and grippy and it's a little softer. So I, I think these are, I think these are going to be a winner. Yeah, I definitely like because it's a speed 12 right on the high end of what I go for, but

definitely in the wind. But yes, with a headwind. But I just recently went out to a course in Tulsa, or a Broken Arrow, and I did it a round where I threw the heist, Treason Renegade, and it's passing kind of compared. So I think that went over well and the heist became a disc that will be on my bag. It's not the one I'm going to grab all the time, but if it's a headwind for sure, grab the heist. Yeah. All right. And then events.

As far as events, we'll go over these other ones here in a minute. But as far as events as well, if you want to come to Emporia, KS and play some of our amazing courses we have out here, we have the Emporia Ladies Open now. It's obviously open to ladies only because it's in the name. Emporia Ladies open October 4th through 5th and that's where Jackie and Denise do a fantastic job running events so that women can come out and play. What course do they play? Pan Peter Pan.

And I believe this is their 7th year doing this 7th annual. So that's that's huge and quick shameless plug, but the day before the Emporia Ladies Open, if you are bringing your significant other down, we are hosting a Flex Star C tier as a Emporia State disc golf fundraiser.

So if you guys want to come down and play that course or if you ladies want to practice the course, we are playing the same exact layout so. So if you want to make a complete weekend out of it, you have the the Flex start C tier on Friday and then that evening is the Emporia first Friday art walk in downtown or the Emporia. And the downtown Emporia is a big art like they do. They have the Emporia. Art Council. Out art council where they have where you can go in there and look at stuff.

So yeah. And then of course look at art, look at art and on Saturday and Sunday we have rounds on Saturday, round one on Saturday, round two on Sunday. So check that out. And then the other bit we have coming up is the Hand Eye Classic on October 18th and that is played on with. Jones East and Jones West. Boom, now that be prepared for some weirdness 'cause that's hand eye classic and he likes to weirdness. But it's fun weirdness. It's cool weirdness.

He was already telling me it's. A great event. Some of the stuff he has going on and so that's interesting. That's going to be Saturday, October 18th. Looks like nothing. SO2 rounds and then. One on east, one on West. It's only a one day event, yeah. Which one day's events I remember are like, people really like that because you still have your weekend left. Yeah, especially when it's on a Saturday.

You know, you can do your Saturday, you can spend Sunday just chilling, relaxing and all of that. So that's always nice. I know how you Oklahoma guys and your Kansas people are. You wait till the last minute. Don't wait till the last minute. Get signed up. Limited spots available. So that'll be fun. And then further down the road in November, we have the Freedom Fest. Let's not talk about November already. But people might want to plant.

So Freedom Fest, of course, Emporia, the founding city of Veteran's Day, they really like to do it up around that time, so. Do they still do all the other not not with our events, but Freedom Fest. Do they still do like the I know they do a bike race, they do a run scavenger. I mean, there's all kinds of cool like activities that happened that week or that day. I'm not I'm not exactly positive on it. I'm pretty sure it's still the same.

Yeah, they literally are called run, ride, release, ruck and recognize for a great 'cause which. One are we ruck? I don't doubt it. We're probably the release. That makes sense. So, yeah, that's cool. Yeah. So a bunch of different activities that you can participate during that week. Let's see, I'm trying to find out where they show, oh, events. A Wagon wheel, Freedom run, walk, Freedom Ride. So that's the bike ride, the dynamic disc, Freedom Fest. Open the disc.

What's that? Vigilance? Martial arts? Norwegian Foot March. I'm in. Southern Star Warrior Spur challenge? I've never heard of that. Oh, that's cool. They're like on a beam with ninja stars throwing at each other. It says type of event. Triple event with 5K run, 40 mile bike and warrior skills test. OK, I may have to sign up for that. That looks really cool. Whoa, there's people on the ground? Oh, that's a dummy. They're trying to save the dummy. They're trying to save the dummy.

Save the dummy. That's interesting. So anyway, check that out. You can actually go to emporiafreedomfest.org get all the information, or you can go to disc golf scene. Look up Freedom Fest if you just want to do the disc. Golf and I assume most of our listeners are going to just care about the disc golf portion of it, but you know, and it's it's at Sodin's, which is a really fun little 9 hole course here in town. I mean, there's all kinds of stuff to do for that weekend, so

maybe people want to just. Come on down. Do it up. So all right, let's get to the questions, the meat of the matter. The meat, meat. And potatoes. So remember, you can go to discgolfanswerman.com, submit your disc golf questions and we will get them on the air. We appreciate you guys sending all your questions. And this first one's from Matthew.

Mr. Slick Breeze for the dynamic for the dynamic driver lineup for you, what is a good slightly under stable, stable, then slightly over stable disk 11:50 speeds preferably. Well, we kind of went over it. The heist is a new one that's in my bag that I'm going to have for AI. Wouldn't say it's. I could say it's slightly overstable. For me it's. Slightly overstable for you? So that's one.

And now if it's a lot of wind and I'm trying to really get around a tree or get really get around with a hyzer, I'm going trespass, go down a little bit lower and that's gonna be a renegade. The renegade I can get a little more glide more a little more flat to throw with that. And then we go with the trees in. That's got that nice little push. Someone who someone threw it the other day and said, well that's got a nice push and I was like, that makes a lot of sense they.

Just push us forward. Yeah, it just pushes forward. And so the treason is one that I'm really liking. Now I did mention in my video and on my live update that I'm thinking about testing out more speed eights and speed nines to see how they fly for me and not just think of them only as a fairway driver, but maybe off to T driver. So they're they're maybe that'll help a little bit. As far as under stable, I got a beat in Maverick that I really like. That's under stable.

And the motive has been really good for an under stable disc that if I, if I throw it on an Anheuser will keep that turn going. But if I throw it nice and flat, it'll give me the little bit of turn, but then that fade will kick in right at the very end, like nice little easy fade. So I like that. So thanks for the question, Matthew. That's a good question. Next one is Joe P Does Win affect a disc thrown on forehand the same way it would for backhand?

For example, a right hand backhand throw into a headwind makes the disc less stable. Does a right hand forehand throw into a headwind also become less stable? Yes, 'cause it's, it's, it's just different rotations on the disc, OK? It just it's no different than a lefty throwing a backhand. Yeah, a back. Sorry, I was trying to a backhand forehand. What I was almost said, but no throwing a backhand, left hand backhand is what I was my brain was trying to say.

Yeah, it's it's it's really no different. Obviously with forehand and backhand, there's different angles that you can put on the disc. But if you throw the exact same disc into a headwind on a backhand, let's say it's an under stable disk and you're throwing it into a head when it's going to want to turn over. If you do it with a forehand, it's going to want to turn over

but the opposite way. So a backhand right hand backhand turnover disk turnover shot is going to move to the right and a forehand is going to move to the left. Does that make sense? So yes, to answer your question, they fly the same but different. I really need to work on my forehand because I don't have a great forehand at all so. Boy, is that true. And. I don't know if that's. True. No, it's very true. And then it's even like figuring out which disc to use as a forehand thrower.

What would you tell me if I was like? If I'm like, I need to get better at my forehand, What would you tell me I need to I? Would tell you right now to start working with the escape and and not like just no different than these drift ones how you just nice and easy. That's what you should be doing. Not with the drift one, but you know a heavier escape, but it's a neutral flying disk. So it'll help you with your angles and it'll expose what your issues are. Got you.

So. That's what I would tell you to. Do all right, so the next disk, that disk that we're going to talk about is something that Eric is super excited about and that is the new. The drift Sergeant. Yeah, that's his new distance driver. No, is the emac retooled truth? Tell us about that The. Missing piece I love it that it's the missing piece too 'cause it's kind of like not just a clever name, right, because it's the missing piece from the emac Truth lineup.

So you know the the disk itself, the the original emac Truth started to get a little flippier. I don't know, I don't know what the story behind it is, if it's the plastic or the way they were manufactured or if it's the mold. But I reached out to Oscar at, at over at Latitude and said, hey, man, can we make this just a touch more stable? I want this just to fly like the, the flight numbers in 10. So 55-O2 is, is what the, the flight numbers for the Emac Truth are.

And I wanted them to fly like that. And the new ones were, I mean, they were, you know, 55 probably lots of glide on it. It just, it just held over a little bit longer than I than I really wanted. So it would, I couldn't throw it into any type of a headwind. These new guys, they they just hold. I, I did a video the other day with them and I compared the, a brand new emac truth off the shelf to one of these and trying to throw very similar angles, power release angles, all of

that. And there was significant flight difference. I would say not not like crazy flight differences, but these definitely had the integrity that I, I've, I always wanted in my mid ranges. So, you know, you people that are all nervous about the old ones, they're still around. They're still going to be here for however long since we have so many of them still. The new ones are just going to fly a touch more stable.

They're going to have that predictable fate at the end, like A5502 is supposed to. Felix from Ace run production so I did Felix. I did a live update earlier this morning talking about these discs. Yeah, he. Picked up a couple. Yeah, he picked up a couple and he said, he said I could use this quote if I wanted to. But he says how did this say it reminded him of the 1st? It reminded him of the emac truths that he fell in love with in 2017. There you go. That's exactly what the goal was

With this. I have them go back to the original flight, how they were originally manufactured to fly. So I think we've hit it nail on head. Yeah. And so if you're if you're curious about before you pick one up now it went they're available September 18th for retail.

So if you're curious, cursed if cursed, if you're curious, I know Eric has been putting out some content on it and then me and him film something that I'm going to try to get done by the end of this week so we can put out to put some more info on it. But that way you can kind of see how it. Throws also go to your local retailer and they're available right now for wholesale. And if they don't have them,

kick them in the face. And let them know hey I really want to try like 5 or 6 of these of these colors so. And if they don't kick them in the face, I'm just kidding. Do not. I do not condone kicking people in faces. Maybe in somewhere else? Next question comes from Josh. He says, I feel classic hybrid is an utter underutilized plastic, especially when it comes to mids in general. We haven't seen many classic plastic mids in a few years and they have high prices on the

second hand market. Is it possible to get some classic mid runs? A classic hybrid Verdict would be wonderful. Having that blend grip with greater durability from hybrid for mids is a killer combo. I haven't tried the new Pro yet, but would also give that a go in some mids if it were available. The new Pro. The new Pro line. Oh. The new Pro, like the peak, is the new Pro line. Oh, I got you. To answer your question, yes we are in the works with some classic hybrid disks coming out

in mids. Nice. So I believe the verdict is actually one of them. Now this keep in mind we're we're working on this right now, which means they get manufactured, they get put on a container, they take a couple months to get here. So we're looking at, you know, towards the beginning of next year before we'll see any of it, but it is in the pipeline. There you go. And he's not just saying that just to say it. He's the guy that plans this all out. So.

So that's exciting. And so, yeah, if you ever send in Instagram messages or direct messages, I'm now going to forward them straight to Eric. He may not have an answer for you right away. Like, yes, we'll do this. But like, it gives him ideas of what to to think about what to put out next. Correct. All right. Billy Madison. No, I'm just kidding. Well, Billy. Say Billy. Billy, Billy says Emac Sub. Have you designed a course outside of the USA?

If not, are you open to it? I have designed one course outside of the USA in Canada, OH. It's technical, I mean a. Yeah, it's, it's in Kamloops, Canada, which is in the BC area. OK, hour and a half, two hours ish from Vancouver. They used to host quite a few events up there and I became very close with Carrie and and Chad and you know, the whole crew up there that that used to host these events and host us when we would come up.

When I started getting more heavily into designing courses, they called me out to do a, a, a course up there a little 9 hole or sorry, it was a nine hole executive golf course. So it was like par 3 style of golf course. So there was enough room to put in. I would call it more beginner friendly. It's a little technical, but more beginner friendly. 18 hole disc golf course on MacArthur Island is what it's called. It has now been coined Emac Island, at least that's what I

call it because why wouldn't I? But no, and, and to answer the other question, I am totally not opposed to traveling outside of the US to design courses. And you know, obviously my main goal in course design is an emac course in all 50 states is kind of like a, a huge goal that I would love to be able to accomplish. It's going to be very challenging, but I think I'm at 29 right now, so I'm over

halfway there. I got some difficult states out of the way, but I got some difficult states to cross off as well. But that's my main focus. But if somebody from, you know, a Sweden, a Finland, Germany, wherever called and said, hey, we want to do this, you know, obviously it'd have to make sense financially for me to do it. Yeah, I'm not opposed. I would love to do that. Well, what makes the estate more

difficult than others? I think history, size, land available, you know, like a California is really tough to get into 'cause there's a lot of red tape you got to get through. But I do have a course in California, Riverside Park, Martha McClain down in Riverside, CA rather.

And then, you know, states like Delaware, Connecticut, you know that those are going to be tough ones to get courses into 'cause they're, there's so much city and they're, so you know, they've, they've probably got courses in almost every park And it's just, it's just tough. It's just tough in those smaller

states to get in the door there. I mean, I know that you have to deal like there's no I oh really, I could be wrong, but there's no like general rules or laws that govern the entire United States when it comes to. So most of your quote, UN quote red tape is more local, regional things that you have to like. Correct. Like what California think of California, the red tape. There is insurance, you know, is this course going to be insured? We can't.

We got to worry about someone getting hit by a disc. And who are they going to sue? Are they going to sue the city, the state? The park? So do you think, excuse me, do you think overseas is going to be even more challenging? I, I would assume so because I mean, obviously I'd have to, I'd be working there. So I'd have to figure out what type do you have to get like a work visa to do those kind of things. So there's, I haven't looked, you know, maybe I'll talk to

Avery about that. We have an in our PA trip coming up but he does a lot of courses overseas but I know he does a lot with the Paul Macbeth Foundation though on his courses overseas so I don't know if those are all. Under the foundation. Under the foundation and pro bono, right or what the situation is there interesting. Yeah, it is. It's very interesting. But yes, to answer that the question, I would love to have a course in Europe somewhere. I think that be really cool.

All right, Tyler has a duo of dynamic questions for a dynamic duo. First, we'll start with Eric. Eric, I know that you are obviously a member of Hashtag Team EMAC Judge. Your name is on it, for God's sakes. I know I'm a ride or die Team Marshall. Any chance of it getting back into production? I'm running low on my stock of prime Marshalls for putting and throwing. Uh oh. Well, we literally just released the Marshall's last ride. Oh yeah, so you better the last

ride or you? Better you better launch onto those bad boys because that more than likely will be one of the last trends we're going to see of the Marshall. When was that put out? Like like. Fairly recent, very recent I think. I don't even know if it's released retail yet. Let's see. I'm going to look it up, Marshall. Awkward. Yeah. Awkward. No. OK, seven days. So 7 days from today, The. 11th 7 or No 911. Oh, I I think you did. You show me that stamp.

I can't remember if you show me that earlier. Yeah, it's got. The little tombstone with the cowboy hat. 'Cause it's is it like 'cause it's got the Halloween colors is. It that one is like Halloween colors. No, it's not really. I mean, it's, it could be. It could be because it's like dark and it's a grave site. Yeah. He's. Dead. OK, so and these are the, these are clothic classic soft orbits. They look fantastic. They look beautiful. And it's not just like the

white. Some of them have the white flight plate and different color rims, but some of them are all different colors, like orange in the middle, black in the middle, pink in the middle with blue rim. So yeah, they they look fantastic. Seven days from basically today, right? What's today? No, today's Wednesday. So a week from tomorrow on 9/11, you can pick those bad boys up. Stock up, my friend. Stock up my friends. Like, can you bring it back? You're like, yeah, we did.

Yeah, we. Won for you? Yeah, just this is just for you. One more run. That's crazy. All right, so let's talk about. You had one more question. Oh, that's right, yeah. It was the duo. The duo. Sorry. OK, this question is for me Bobby. I'm starting my YouTube channel, Go and Grow Disc Golf. Nice dude. My hope is to inspire people to just get out there and play disc golf. I plan to share things that help my game grow while showcasing Dynamic Discs in the process.

And sweet thank you for doing that question. Do you think short form videos, YouTube shorts or or Instagram reels are a must for success or will high quality long form videos be enough? I have plans for different types of video series but wanted to hear your thoughts. So the question is, do you think short form videos are a must or high quality long long form videos? Both, both. I mean that's is that right?

Yes, it is. 'Cause you could take the long long form videos and cut it up into yes. So here's what you got to think of. You have to in a sense, you have to think of yourself as and think of YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, whatever. Those are distribution channels. So you have a message that you want to put out there. These are your distribution channels. Just like if a movie gets out, their distribution channels are the movie theater, the DVDs.

If we do, people still do DVDs. So the. VHS. The V No, definitely not VHS. And then of course the streaming services and then of course the digital downloads where you pay to watch it and then it becomes and then it doesn't eventually end up on Netflix anyway. My point is, is that the YouTube long form is just a different way to put your message out there in a long format where you can do it either slow or do a really quick cut, cuts and

edits. Whatever your style is, go for it. The shorts is a different way of telling a similar story or breaking up your story into bite size. Now, as far as, OK, I'm going to go in the weeds here for a little bit, but as far as even your Instagram account, you have to think of Instagram Reels as a way of getting outside of your follower bubble because they tend to show Instagram Reels to people that don't follow you or

people of interest. Like if they're interested in disc golf or interested in cooking, they're going to start pushing out those particular Reels well. I was going to say a good example of that is that when you are on Instagram and you click the reels and start scrolling, majority of the time you're not following those reels that

you're seeing. Right, yeah, and that's The thing is that YouTube long form your YouTube channel is is more of a like I want to find when you the the the habits is I want to look up this particular topic. Either it's disc golf tournaments, disc golf education or cooking or political stuff, the news or whatever you're into you disc. Golf answer, man. Disc golf answer man, video gaming, you actually look for

that. But when you think of reels in in, in other words, you are, you are seeking out the content. But if you think of Instagram reels and YouTube shorts, that's more of the platform feeding you the content. Because if you think about it, like you said, if you're just thumbing through shorts and thumbing through reels, you're just literally watching thumb up, watching thumb up, watching thumb up and it's pushing it out to you what it thinks it you

want to watch. And then it learns from that. So if you stay on a video longer or you tend to watch this topic a little bit longer than others, they're going to feed you more of that. That's like a lot of information. So I would say your best bet to start out is to put together your long form YouTube videos, tell your story there and then take it and create bite sized chunks. Don't don't just literally cut things and put it on YouTube Shorts. Make the YouTube shorts its own thing.

But you can grab that content from your long form, if that makes sense. Yeah, totally. So that's a good thing. And good luck to you. And let us know what your YouTube channel is so I can. Tag it out, tag us in it. Yeah, tag us in it and yeah, I think that's awesome. We were. Going to talk about the drift now. Let's do the drift. Let's do the drift. Is that the new dance move? Yeah, do in the drift. It's where you float on the water.

You float on the water so the drift is in four molds now. Tell us the story. I tried to tell a story on the live updates earlier today. Tell us the story cause drift is not a new and if you've been a long time follower you know 20. 15. Was not new to us.

Yeah. So we came out with the idea to, to come out with a floating plastic is what we, we wanted to 'cause there wasn't a whole lot on the market at the time for discs that float and a lot of people were losing discs, especially on courses like we have here in Emporia where there's a lot of water. So we came out with the idea to Drift Plastic was a great name, like just such a great name for plastic that, that floats in lightweight and all of that.

We came out with the witness in Drift and and to say it was a failure is an understatement. I would say the plastic was terrible. If I recall, it was sticky. Almost remember that like they're they're they're for a while they were selling them as like, hey, we've screwed up here. Just take these. Let's see if anybody wants these as like a whatever, beside the point. But I remember them being in bags and they would like stick to the bags. It was just terrible, just gross.

But yeah, so we kind of pushed it back to the the drawing board on that. And, and then a couple years, year and a half, two years ago now, Latitude 64 came out with 0 gravity and we're like, wait, that flows too. Maybe we should revisit the drift and the drift plastic's actually a little different formula than 0 gravity. So it is it's not the same plastic.

It feels similar, but but honestly, these, you know, when I told some people in our brand department that we were getting some drift discs and they're like, that sounds terrible, like from the history of it and plus the zero gravity stuff. And as soon as they felt this like, wow, these, these actually

feel pretty good, right. So that's kind of like the the short story, I guess on on what drift was, but we wanted to bring it back because it was a great name and a great product as long as we could, you know, replicate this, which we've done successfully. And right now we have them available in the Sergeant, the escape, the evidence in the emac judge and depending on popularity, we're going to plan to release some more molds in this.

The two that I think I have slated for next year are a Maverick, which would be great, and a Trespass, which. Would be awesome. So the cool thing about yes the the big feature is that they float on water. So if there's a hole that you play that there's a pond or a Creek or something nearby that you tend to kind of avoid, don't avoid. Now you don't have to avoid grab one of these. And if it goes into the water now obviously the goal is for it to not land in the water,

obviously correct. But if it happens to go into the water, it's going to float. Now, another feature that we really think exciting is that a lot of or some feedback that I've seen is people want a lot. There's a group of people that want lighter weight discs. Well, these suckers are 127 on 128 around that that weight. And so they are very light. And yesterday when we did the video, I literally said, man, you don't have to use this much power.

And Eric was like, exactly finesse these pull back on the power and you'll still let the literally let the disk do the work. And so if you're kind of like me, where you've got a slower arm speed or even if you're thinking, 'cause I, I've even talked to some players where as they play around and they get to like the round two, their

shoulder gets kind of worn out. And so they kind of they, they change their disc a little bit based on not having to throw with, yeah, fatigue with not having to throw with so much power. To me, that's what these are good for. So, yeah. So I don't know where I was going with that. I completely lost my. Thoughts. I mean, it's great for everyone, not not everybody, I guess, but it they are great for for beginners players that do have

lower arm speed. Now, probably not the best disc to grab when it's going to be a windy day, you know, unless it's a tailwind, I guess. But yeah, the drift plastic, I think it's going to be, it's going to be great for starter sets, you know, things like that. If you have a someone that you've been trying to introduce to the sport, I mean, we're going to have a a starter set with these in it at some point. And yeah, pick them up for them.

I'm going to, I'm going to plan some, get some people out here at the warehouse that that don't play a lot of disc golf, but have played before and I want to get them on video throwing because I think they'll be pleasantly, pleasantly surprised at the flight for them. Totally. Now we're talking about these very early because these aren't available until the beginning of October to stores. Yeah, I guess it is just a month and then soon after that

available to retail. So we're gonna be put out more info on that so you can get a little more info on it totes. Let's see. Last question O the day comes from Paul Sampson and this one might be a doozy. I like doozies. Bobby, since you're a big media guy, I wanted to ask about the whole AI that's artificial intelligence. OK, I was I've seen Terminator. Sarah O'Connor, the whole AI controversy within our sport. Does a dynamic disc have artists you work with?

Do you foresee dynamic discs using AI for future projects? All right, so this is like a loaded question, 'cause there has been a lot of controversy out there and the people that don't like it have really made themselves known. There are, I will have to say, and just was anything. It seems like the squeaky wheel gets all the attention right? That's true. But there have been people that are like, what's the big deal? It's literally part of everyday

life. Now it's not quite part of everyday life, but they're that's kind of the sentiment is like, not sure the big deal. So here's my thinking is that do I use AII, use AII, use chat? Yes, I use Chat Beat GPT to help

me organize and structure. So a lot of times when I have an idea, I'll type up an idea when I'm brainstorming, I'll script it out and then I'll give it to chat and I'll say, help me structure this, give me some suggestions and I'll like, oh, that, that's actually I hadn't thought about that. And I'll put it in my script or put it in my idea or if I have a phone call and I write down my notes, I'll give it to them and give it to them, give it to chat and have it give me it in a

outline structure. So I use AI for that. Have I used AI in any of my videos? What here's what's interesting. I actually have Premiere Pro and This is why I get This is why I don't know how to explain it. But like the whole AI in our work that we do. So like Premiere Pro has a a feature and even cap cut and different software has features where the AI helps with audio. So like if your audio isn't so good it's literally AI trying to help. Artificial intelligence. Yeah. Thank you.

You're welcome. It's trying to help where the voice sounds more clear and it gets rid of the background. That's that's AI, right? I think that's that's different though than. What I know that's what I'm getting there, I think, but I, I, yeah, I'm getting there.

In fact, what I'm and then there's actually a new feature that's in still in beta mode where like, so let's say you have a scene of you or anything and you like, man, if I just had two more seconds of that scene, it would make the cut in the edit so much better. You literally can do called generative video and you can tell it to try to make up to 2 seconds longer of your scene. Do it now for this I. Don't Maybe, maybe I maybe I'd do that.

Maybe I'd do it real quick and, and show it on the video because I, I, I don't have the beta version yet, but maybe I can have access to it and I want to try it. Yeah, just the alpha. And so, but that's to me, is that cheating? Because to me it's like, you should have just filmed longer 'cause I don't know how many times I've been filming and I hit end on the record and something fun happens or funny or something. I'm like, now it can't make up things.

It's just going to kind of like extend your scene. So I have to, I'm going to have to experiment with it. So anyway, the point is that AI is in stuff that we do a lot already. And I bet, I would bet money that nine out of the 10 times that you've watched content nowadays, you don't know what you just watched is AI.

And it is AI. Now, there's some words like you can obviously tell right there, you can tell obvious, but I have a feeling there's things out there that you've watched that you did not realize that AI played a part in it. Now, I don't like the idea of AI stealing an artist's job, right?

You're seeing all kinds of headline that are being sensationalized where I just saw one something where Salesforce or some software service just laid off 4000 employees because they said the head of the place said AI can do the job of these 4000 employees. Now I don't know if it's sensationalized or if it's a true headline. I quickly saw it and didn't read the whole article. So that's not a good thing, right? That's not a good for AI to take people's job.

And so no, I don't think it's, I don't think it's right for companies to simply just rely only on AI to create artwork and stamps. Do I think AI can aid someone in it? I think it's OK. That's my opinion. I've seen a few opinions where people are like if there's any AI in it, then you've taken someone's job. But I think AI the. Person that's creating the AI just typing it into the.

Well, they say who who said it? I think Temp said that he read somewhere that AI is not what did he how did he say? AI is not going to take the wait, AI is something to do or like if you don't know AI, then you're definitely going to be out of a job because the people that know AI and how to implement it in their job are the ones that are still going to have jobs. I don't know, what are your thoughts? Artificial intelligence. Oh, I like I I don't know, I'm torn on it.

I think you've. Seen it right. This what they're talking about? The stamp that was put out. Yes, I have seen it yes and it it I yes, it was probably AII don't know. I don't know. I can't. I can't say a. 100% I don't think no one's definitively said it is. Yeah. But gosh, I don't, I don't even know where to go with this statement like and and pain

artists. And to answer your question, yes, we do have a couple graphic artists on staff dynamic and we also have a hand folding that we work with outside of of DD. So I, and as the product manager, I am the one creating kind of the stamps, I suppose, or at least the idea for the stamps. And I send those over to, to our

two graphic designers. And they come up with the ideas if, if they think they can attack it or if they want to hire someone else out to do it. If they hire someone else to do it, who's to say this person's not using AI as and, and here's the other thing. In my opinion, it's going to be really. Hard in the future. To tell the difference, right. Yeah. It's only gonna get better. I guess you would say that yeah. You always have to think what you.

Just saw is literally the worst it'll ever be 'cause it'll only get better. That's that's crazy to think about and I'm. I'm all for paying artists and and that which we do here, you know, that's any design I've ever come out with has been from an artist or or someone that I had draw it up, you know, so I'm a firm believer in that.

I don't, I don't know, man. It's, it's a, it's a weird situation and I'm not super familiar with all the AI stuff aside from even in Gmail that, you know, you type it up. You want me to what is it called? A Gemini? Yeah. They'll like clean it up for you. The whole thing that's that's basically AI, right? Different voice than yeah. So there's a lot a lot of it out there and I think I think there's some good use for it. I just, I just, I prefer not to see it on artwork on discs.

Yeah, I mean 100%. It does it. Definitely artwork. There's definitely. Something to be said to where it's going. I don't want everything to become generic and bland. And that's what it feels like when we're using AI right now is that it becomes generic and bland. And we use AI to, to hurry up the process and to a cheap, you know, a cheap way of getting to the end product, which is an image. But I think in the end, that's where going the cheap route will cost you.

Right now. I get nervous. No, I don't get nervous. But I've thought about it like as far as like even video editing, right? I mean, there are services out there where I'm, I can plug in. And I've tried it with the disc golf answer, man. I've tried it with a couple of our challenge videos where I gave it to, I think it's called Opus clips and a couple others, 'cause I just want to learn. I want to see how it is and it's

just not that good. It doesn't it, It picks sometimes it picks the right moments, but I still have to go in and edit it. So it still has to be a human involved. Now, I do like when it gives me

the transcripts. I do like when it gives me summaries and then I can take that summary and I can rewrite it. So it's it's definitely a useful tool for me, but I don't see it as a tool for our graphic designers or artists where we're just going to go, hey, we're just going to tell AI to create the image of a trespass stamp and then put that on a stamp. I don't ever see any part of me making the decision of saying, yes, that's a good choice. Right. Agreed. Yeah, I, I. Agree with that.

Now 10. Years from now, dude, I don't even I could AI all of a sudden have a style and tone and, and to where it is kind of like an artist. I don't know. That's weird to think because right now AI is just what a learning language model. It's just I've understood it as it's just predicting based on based on its ability to know and search what's out on the Internet. And so it's just giving you the

logical answer to things. That's why to me, what's organization, organizing and summarizing and structure is makes sense, but it's not. Some people said it's not literally artificial intelligence. It's not sentient. It's not a a thing that really can think for itself. It's just predictive. It's just predicting what would be the next thing to say would be the logical answer to what you're asking. It's not a a mind where it's thinking for itself, right?

Interesting, But do you? Think we'll get to there? I think we will get there sometime. It's scary, it's so scary, it's so scary. It is very controversial and it touches based on in disc golf because of the art, art, art stuff that's going out there 'cause it is. I mean, I've had fun with it. I've done things where I've uploaded a picture and had it made me grow a big Afro. I've done that. Interesting, I've done one. Where I had me and my.

Wife and we were it was a picture where we're just kind of, you know, like a selfie picture. We were on vacation and it was Grok, which is XS or Twitter's AI Elon stuff. And it said it said I, I loaded it and it said make a fun scene and it it shows me and Misty looking at each other and then it shows Misty body slamming me into the water. That's so weird and I showed it. I showed it to her and I was laughing. She goes don't ever show me that again and don't ever do that

again with our pictures. Now. She wasn't like super mad, but she was it was just one it it's a weirdness. It is weird. It it, it's going to. Mess with our head and. Distort our brains. Yeah, it's going to. Yeah, it's. Scary like even. Cap cut if you edit in cap cut now I can go in there and it'll recognize a face and I can say make my make my jaw thinner, make my eyebrows this make my eyes smaller, bigger, make my nose smaller. So weird. I don't like that it's. It's.

I know, I know. But it's like. When you're, you're going to be watching. Something and you're going to think, am I really watching what that person looks like? Like this episode of the Disc Golf Answer Man. It's not real. It's not real as we melt. Well, even even that one photo that I put us. Where I did the baby emac and the baby Bobby. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, that was somewhat. AII. Would say so yeah, that was taking our. Images and and. And and predicting what we would

look like as as babies. I like that. I like that part and then having. US talk and stuff. So. I don't know it it is. Let us know in the comments. Yeah, with the let us know in the comments. What are your thoughts. I mean, I've read some of the thoughts going on with the different people using AII mean AI commercials. Tyler got got some negative feedback from AI using in in the commercial with the alpaca. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. I thought that was I. Mean it was.

I thought it was. Clever. I thought it was a clever way. Of he was just kind of like poking fun. At it, in a sense, yeah. It's like he's not. Trying to hide it. It's obvious AI. Well, he has a yeah, an alpaca. Talking right? Anyway, I could go on and on. About that but we won't thank you guys for sending your questions. Remember disc golf answer man.com send in your questions. Check out the Emac Truth. Retooled the missing piece. Missing piece come stamp.

That an artist did That an artist did? Yes, that an artist. Actually did the fusion heist is already out if you're looking for an overstable to stable distance driver and then if you have a hole that has water and you just want to make sure you have a great disc to throw over it and not worry if it happens to go into water. Check out the drift that I'm coming out later this October. The only other thing I want to mention that we have that is. Dropping right now are the putt monsters.

We have it available in the judge, the Warden and Emac Judge. Is that correct? Yeah, I think it's classic blend on the emac Judge. The Judge, I believe was I'm not going to. I'm not. I don't have no idea. Oh, the plastic, I don't remember off the top of my head, but those 3 discs are available as you're watching this. So go to dynamicdiscs.com and check those bad boys out. Perfect. We'll see you guys.
