Copyright strike everybody. Welcome to this episode of the disc golf fans man. I am Bobby Cool Daddy, slick breeze and with me Eric chasing the chains. We have to throwback old. School. Logo and slogan thing. Yeah, we actually had a Chasing the Chains Facebook page for a while. We did, and a tour, and I think, I, I think Stevo still kind of uses it. Yeah, a little bit. He uses Dirty Dozen more than anything now I think. Yeah. And then we had that, the little
chase and the chains guy. We tried to use that on a few things. Didn't quite take off. It did for me I guess. Still got the shirt after 20 years so. Pretty, pretty cool stuff. Chase and the Chains. There's, I think there's a YouTube channel, Chase the, I think it's just called Chase the Chains. Who should we send them? A. Season assist. Maybe I'm just promoting them now, I mean. Check them out. Subscribe. I can subscribe. Hit that bell to.
Chase the chains. So all right well, it's a dreary day here in Emporia. The last couple days have been kind of weird. Yesterday it rained very hard buckets. We had a big staff meeting and we had to like talk loud 'cause it was coming down hard. I. Had to listen hard. You had to listen hard. I saw you. Eric was doing this like he was trying to listen hard. But and asking for subtitles. I need those captions.
Yeah, please. And then then by noon it was nice and sunny it. Did the sun came out? It became nice, actually. It was still just kind of wet and gross, but I took the dogs out to the park through the Frisbee for them nice last evening. So yeah. What are? I have been enjoying the cooler weather. My wife doesn't like the cooler weather. She likes it when it's a little more hotter, more in the 90s, which I think is crazy. You like that better? I don't like cold. I don't like to be cold.
I do not like to be cold. I would. I will take now when I'm sleeping, I want to be cold yes right, but if I'm if I'm going outside, I just there's just something about being cold. I just do not like. Yeah, I don't like being cold. I like a little little chill. A little. Chill in there. I like 70s. I think 70s to lower 80s are like perfect. Yeah, last weekend I we went out to River Parks in Tulsa and they have some nice, a nice lawn and we literally just laid on the grass.
It felt so nice just to enjoy the weather. Yeah. What did you do? Did you lay on the grass? I did not. I went to Tulsa, actually. Oh, that's right, I missed. That Tulsa, Yeah, I was looking for you. Never saw you. I know. Not once. Told me he was going to be there. Never showed up. I was celebrating my granddaughter's one year birthday. Well, you told me. I didn't tell you I was going to try to show up, but I didn't.
It was the collegiate event, the first of its kind, The inaugural event down in Tulsa at technically is at Broken Arrow. Is that where that is technically Hakey Creek? Hakey Creek. I think I should know this, but I believe it is technically. OK, it's Tulsa is what we'll say. But yeah, there was, it was 66 players, I believe that ended up coming out for it. And we took 16 players from Emporia State, went down and played pretty well. I'd say.
Our MC2 guy lost in a playoff, Caden Stuckey lost in a playoff. Otherwise we would have got first in all the divisions that we competed in. That's fantastic. I know that somebody that I only, I, well, I partly know because we used to sponsor him, but Carter Aaron's like he's just really making a name for himself. He is. He's playing well. He's playing exceptionally well. His rating just went up to like 1029 or something crazy like that.
So yeah, he's doing a little bit of the college thing, a little bit of the tour thing. So he's, he's hitting, hitting both ends of it, I guess. So would you say, do you know, happen to know how many schools were represented there? I I want to say they said like 12 unique universities or something like. That yeah. Was it just at at Hickey Creek? Yes, only Hickey. Very cool. So the atmosphere was cool. Kid young people, they're out. Yeah, it's all college.
Disc golf is awesome. It really is. It's it's growing every single year. It gets bigger and bigger and it's fun to watch these kids play. Very cool. Awesome. Well, we got a lot to talk about today. We got questions. We got discs we want to talk about. Some of the discs we've already talked about, but some we want to make sure you know about. In fact, I'm looking down at this Emac Truth and it's got a few scuffs on it and I'm
thinking what? And then I remembered we put out a video where it was me and Eric, six holes and Eric only was throwing the Emac Truth. And this is of course the new retooled with the really cool stamp, the missing piece. And then I only threw the drift. Plastic. Maybe we should run it back, play the same holes in switch. Oh oh, that would be interesting.
That would be. We should have done that for the whole video, like like hole one through 3 was that and then switch anyway, maybe for a future video. But anyway, it was really interesting to see how the drift plastic throws. Of course it floats in water, which is fantastic, so never lose a disk again. Is it floats in water or floats on water? It floats. It floats over water. It literally hovers above. It doesn't even go it like
senses water and. You ever seen those magnetic things where they that hovers above the Yeah, I guess it floats on water. Maybe that's the more technical term. Kind of. But like to me, it's like in the water still, like when the boat is in the water, it's still floating. Is it so if it's floating that means it's on top of the water? Does it 'cause it hasn't broke the tension of the water right? Is this actually floating on top of the water or is it a little bit submerged? I don't.
Know what? Do you guys think That'll be a debate? Yeah, we should ask. Chat CGP chat, GTP chat. Chat. GPT I can't even say it. Chat How do I say chat? GPT Have you seen that Instagram reel with a guy? He walks in and he goes, hey buddy, how what you doing? He goes. ChatGPT how am I doing? He goes, dude, just tell me let you want to go get something to eat. ChatGPT What do I want to eat? I've not seen that. It's hilarious. It's pretty funny. Anyway, sorry, off topic.
Drift plastic. I would say some of the molds were a little more flippier than I thought, so I had to make some adjustments. But this I would say the most, the one, I mean, they're all good, right? But the one I was really impressed with the most is the Sergeant. Really. I thought you threw the evidence extremely well.
The. Evidence was good, I think because the Sergeant I didn't I don't remember other than maybe doing and is this this correct for you really throwing it very much and I'm a. Hidden gem disk. Yes it got like really good distance almost. I almost want to grab one and maybe put it in my bag to see how it works and other plastics. Thanks.
Anyway, those great coming out in what October, October Emac Truth is already available for your store and you want to need some new truth grab the emac truth this comes out what's. In. About a week or so. It does come out in about a week or so. The Emac Truth These really nice swirls. Red swirl. Pink swirl. Blue Swirl. September 18th is when it comes out so. Also, if it happened, what was I saying? Oh, if you haven't watched the the video, go out and check it on our.
YouTube This actually comes out this week, this Thursday. This Thursday. Thursday, September 11th, which is technically tomorrow when we're recording this, it is the Marshall. I know last week we had a question about the Marshall. If we're going to bring it back. We brought it back just for you, and then we're going to immediately take it away because it is the last ride. So it's got a little, you know, a little grave.
It is a Marshall hat. It's kind of cool stamp, but ripi guess so pick up a Marshall. It's a good little putter. I don't know if you've really used it that much. It does have a microbead. It's kind of like an emac Judge, but it has more of a blunt nose to it. So it's gonna have a little bit more stability. These are classic soft, so they do have that little, little gummier feel to them. So yeah, that's where we're at. What kind of throwing putter
would it be? Straight to stable these would be with the the classic soft so. Straight to stable there. You go to stable. All right, let's get to some questions. Thank you guys for sending the questions. Remember, go to discgolfanswerman.com, send in your questions with them on the air. And I actually have one that
someone posted on our video. I think it's great that you post comments on our video asking questions, but I would say go to the.com Disc golf, answer man.com, submit your questions. We'll get you answers, but we'll kind of go over that when I posted on our Facebook group group too. This one comes from Anthony Anthony Fonti. Emac always talks about the trespass the. Trespass. What is his favorite run and
why? Man, I don't know that I've ever really met a trespass I didn't like, but my all time favorite run is going to have to be the 2018. I believe it was Tour series Lucid X. They were moonshine. Some of them were moonshine, but they were, they were Lucid X. So it's the stiffer plastic which gives them, you know, back then, we haven't really done a lot of Lucid X here recently, but Lucid X back in 2018 made
everything a touch more stable. So there's a little bit more stability, a little bit more high speed stability with the disc. So I could really trust it. I had one of those in my disc for almost five years at one point. They were very good until I lost it. Yeah, yeah. The trespass is a very popular mold. We have it in several plastics. 7. No several. Well. We have a 10 year anniversary. A that's not a plastic. That's not a plastic. What plastic is it?
It was That's lucid ice. Oh, lucid ice. OK, so lucid ice 10 year anniversary then? The lucid, the prime, the lucid air, the moonshine, the supreme trespass, and the did I say lucid X moon? No, lucid X moonshine. Jeez, we have it a lot. That's ice orbit. And then of course, fusion. Fuzzy. And then it's been a Macy Valdez. It's, it's in basically the trespass I think has been in every single plastic type that we've ever offered minus drift and it might be coming in drift
next year. So. Oh that would be a spoiler way to see that. Yeah, me too. So yeah, trespass have a great disc and I would say my so I have a trespass in my I have a huck lab, little mini huck lab. That's a good one too. That's a Lucid sparkle. Yes, those are good ones. Those are a little bit more stable too. So those are those are fantastic ones. Too, I would say for right now for my arm speed, it is a great wind fighter for me, the Lucid trespass totally.
So all right, next one is from Joshua. Will the will the trilogy team members be able to add in disk media and Casplas or will they strictly be Latitude DD and Westside? Wow. No, next question. Next question, please. No, I don't. I don't foresee that happening ever honestly. There matter of fact. I mean I don't know if we should say this and if not you can cut it out, but I wouldn't be surprised if in the future you don't see dynamic players only throwing.
Dynamic. West side only throw on West side latitude only throw on latitude. This is pure speculation, of course. This is not based on anything we've heard or talked. About not at all. But I, I wouldn't, I wouldn't be surprised to see that in the future 'cause they are kind of like our own. Every brand is kind of its own brand. It's kind of has its own, you know, like, like the latitude is kind of like the Craftsman, right, 'cause they manufacture everything.
West Side's like the story, the niche kind of market, you know, and then DD is more of their recruitment brand. So I, I don't, I don't know that you'll see that, but I, I, I, I would think that you're going to see that before you see trilogy members throwing Castoplasty and Discmania. It is kind of it is interesting, I mean to figure out and think
about because it does yeah. I mean when we came out with the, you know, Latitude West side and this side, we became the distribution Center for it here. It did make sense for us to because we were all growing companies to kind of work together to say, hey, we've got all kinds of different molds. But as our selection of molds grows, you know you could in a sense only throw DD and be able to play a successful round and. And oh totally, we have a full,
we have a full lineup. Yeah, a full lineup. So, so, so a lot of people did feel natural that once they became under the House of discs that then all of a sudden they were like one big family, which we are, but we but as a brand we aren't. So it is kind of interesting. But what I found interesting when I watched 6 sided discs was like I didn't realize that Gateway made a lot of other manufacturers. Gateway does a lot, yes, yeah. And of course, MVP does a lot. Also, you don't you?
You don't think of Gateway as like, I mean like player wise, right? Then he'll sponsor all the players, but so he's got the machine time. So it makes sense for him to, you know, be able to produce discs for whoever he's all producing discs for. I don't know. I couldn't name the list right now. I think I know the video you're talking about. And I mean, MVP does a lot yeah, Innova does a lot, right? Disk craft does a handful. So I. Don't know that.
And so I guess my point is like you, you don't see someone going, well, how come the the the disk that gateway makes, how come the player can't throw all their disks if they were, if they were sponsored by one of those manufacturers? Yeah, yeah. I think, I think a lot of those though, I mean, I don't know if that's a good example, because I feel like if there are gateway sponsored players, they kind of just have open bag. That's just more of an open bag
sponsorship, right? So maybe it's more like, can MVP, can they throw streamline MVP? And what is it Axiom? Axiom. I believe so, but I don't know that they can throw mint discs right? Which is manufactured by MVP and Disc Craft now. I believe so. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Disc craft, pick him up. So does that mean Macbeth or whoever? AB Yeah. AB can throw mint discs, yeah. Or DGA. Can they still throw DGA stuff? I don't know. Yeah, I don't know the answers to all of those. Questions.
I mean, it's kind of like one of those things the the disc golf is a sport. It's just kind of making up their own rules as far as that, Sure. Right. I mean, these companies, their own company, yeah, they kind of do things the way they want to do them, I guess. It's just interesting. It is very interesting. All right, let's talk a little bit more about what you got going on because next week you're going to be an AT, I've been calling it Nerpa. Nerpa. NRPA.
What is NRPA? It is the National Recreation and Park Association, so it's a big trade show where a lot of city officials will be there. And Avery and I are going down to set up a booth for, for disc golf and course design. So, you know, we're going to be set up next to playgrounds or I, I can't think of anything else off the top of my head, but there's all kinds of different companies that will go there and set up booths and, and it's basically trying to sell things
to parks and, and rec people. Do you think Leslie and Andy will be there? Leslie Nope. Yes, probably not, but I really hope Bron Swanson will be there. Bron Swanson, be awesome. That would be really cool, but no, I, I've been to this event probably 456 times, something
like that in the, in the past. And it, it's a great place to go and not just create leads, but, you know, contacts as well, or meet up with parks and recs departments that I've worked with in the past and you know, those kind of things. So yeah, NRPA, it's in Orlando, FL. We'll be down there all next week. Really looking forward to that, hopefully getting out and playing some disc golf as well. September in Florida sounds pretty nice. I was saying in a terrible
place. Orlando, FL doesn't sound fun at all. Probably nothing to do there. No, Probably. Probably right? Are you for sure going to get out and play some disc golf? I mean, I'm with Avery, so probably. Probably, yeah, I'm sure. Of course you'd want to hit up. Well, I know he, he had asked me if I had played Olympus. Yeah, 'cause I don't know that he's been there or not.
And I know he likes to collect courses, so we might just either go there or play the oldest course in the state or the number one course in the state, whatever that may be. I know he likes to do those kind of things. So we'll have to figure that out. We're going to have a little free time in the evenings and like Monday or Sunday when we get in, aside from setting up the booth. But yeah, I'm sure we'll play some disc golf. That's awesome. That'll be that should be fun. Yeah.
What was I going to say? Oh, hopefully the weather will be nice and cooperate so we can get out. Yes. All right. Let's get back to the questions. This one's from Brandon. Is there any chance that that they us we bring back the slammer in hard? I mean, he wants us to be like, here's the disc and just throw it at him. We're bringing it in hard. Throw it hard. Anyway, classic hard. I'm sorry, he's talking about. I don't. I don't know that it would be.
I know we're releasing it in classic blend here very soon. I don't know about the hard though. It's kind of tough. I honestly a lot of it will depend on how how popular the the classic blend ones are. You know that that's a great way to judge on on an on a mold that we're kind of bringing back that hasn't been out in a while. This is the OG slammer as well, not the the Saki bomb one that a lot of people are are are maybe more familiar with.
This is this is a completely different mold, but it is a pretty good mold. It's got the thumb track on the top nice and over stable. It is considered a puttin approach but people tend to lean on the approach more than the putt with it so I don't. I don't foresee it being in hard anytime soon unless like these blends just go crazy. Can we talk about the one that's come going to come out or is that which is it's not in the release calendar the the the stamp, the the. Oh yeah.
Yeah, totally. Yeah. So we're coming out with a stamp. Have I seen it? I think I just showed it to me. I haven't seen it. It's called Slam Squatch, yes. So that'll be on a slam. I'm looking forward to. That I'm not sure when that comes out. I think I've seen it on the like the. It's like coming up. It's like next week for wholesale. Is it OK they don't have the release calendar clay? It is. It's. Right here, it's September 16th for the B2B. Oh, OK.
Oh, no, no, no. No, no, no, probably 'cause they hadn't had pictures yet. But you can you can plan on picking that up on October 2nd. So speaking, you said, you said the word approach shot. Approach made. Me think of a hot take that I put out on disc golf management. So I was working on some videos with some throws from Zach Melton when I was at Idlewild and there was a particular approach shot that I thought, man, he just put it right under
the basket. And I was like, when you do that, it's like you don't even have to worry about putting. If you if your approach shots puts it right under the basket, then you're like not even worried about getting it in the basket. So I was like, OK, hot take practicing approach shots is more important than practicing putting. And I said agree or disagree. So in the comments put if you agree, if you agree or disagree.
And I thought we could talk about some of the comments that people put on disc golf answer Man Facebook group and then we can kind of discuss it. So let's hear it. So Carl says, I think it depends on the person. It's most important to practice whatever your weakest at. With that being said, if you are, if your approach shot is perfect, then putting wouldn't matter, right? And that's kind of what I was saying. So what are your thoughts on that?
I mean, when I coach, I always stress putting and approaching is the most important aspect of the game. You know, like getting off the tee is fine, but you know, you have days where your drives are off, but your putt is on, you're still going to shoot well, but those days that your drives are on, your putt is off, you're probably not going to shoot so great. So I don't know, I'm, I'm, I'm
somewhat in agreement. I don't think it's 100% focus on approach and just, you know, who cares about putting anymore because there's different types of courses. Now if you're playing a pitch and putt style, of course, that kind of flies out the window for you, right, Because then you don't really have approaches. You know, there's there's more approaches on these bigger courses that have par fours and par fives unless it is short enough where you're treating the
T shots like approaches. Mark Hill says. I agree. I remember hearing Paige Pierce saying a few years ago that she doesn't really practice C2 putts because she expects her approach shots to be inside 20. Yeah, I don't, I don't focus a lot of hard, hard work on circle
2 putts when I'm teaching. I like to say hey just concentrate on that circle one because circle 2 putts will happen sure, but if you make every single circle 1 putt every single tournament you play your your scores are going to improve. Yeah. And then of course our old guy Dixon Jowers on the box. It is only more important for a player that always botches The upshot and makes every putt. For most people, they will have way more opportunities to make practice range putts per round.
That shot that a shot from one, then a shot from 1:50 to 2:50. OK, yeah, so interesting. So I wasn't, I wasn't like, I mean, of course it's a hot take. So I, I wanted to see what people our thoughts are on it. So got some good conversations. So if you're still want to kind of talk about it, talk about in the comments below and let's discuss it a little bit. Let's discuss. We'll have to have some more of these little hot takes to discuss. All right, hopping back into the questions.
Next one is from Jeremy. Jeremy asks Will we see a verdict in the Supreme Plastic? Probably not. Probably not. So if you don't know, the Supreme discs that we did come out with, there were new molds that had to be created for each one of those. And honestly, it, it didn't really take off.
You know, I think they, I think it would have been more popular if we just came out with new molds, kind of like what Latitude has done, but I don't, I don't foresee us coming out with in in the near future, at least anything new in Supreme plastic. Now the discs that we do have, you may still see like the Supreme general, for instance, you'll you'll probably see that as a TFR mold or a custom run or
things like that. But I don't, I don't foresee any new supreme in the future, at least at least the next year. You know, 2026 you definitely will not see. It and you never know. I mean, the only thing one of the what is it saying the only thing permanent is change is is Sharpie is sharpie. Yes, actually can't you use like vinegar or something like that Anyway, so good stuff. Yeah. You never know what's going to happen. But that like Eric said 2026.
All right. Next question is, oh, that's Jeremy already asked that Daniel Brooke wants to know what brand shoes are most popular with pros that don't have a shoe deal. In particular, what shoes are Silva wearing? And also, did Paul ditch Bessie? I've watched Silva's. Wait, no, I'm thinking of Silas. Never mind carry. On Carry on 2 completely. Different. I know, right? I know. I feel like an idiot. I have no idea what shoes Silva wears. I I, I have no idea.
I have seen some speculation about the Paul stuff that he ditched to Bessie, but I. I just hear it from. Him. No idea but I'll throw out there. I've worn both Vessies and idios and spoiler Idios are better for me. I I personally from my game the toe drag on them 'cause I am a toe dragger. I've had a pair of Vessies now for a few months and they're still holding up great. The waterproof in them is fantastic. They're comfortable, they're grippy.
I haven't slipped. I shout out idio, they're fantastic. Yeah, I what I like about Idio and what I have been getting more into I've seen is the, the wider toe box, not necessarily wide shoes, but the wider toe box because you want your toes display. I'm learning that that's something that unfortunately, a lot of our modern shoes, they constrict your feet, their your toes and they squish them in a sense.
And so it that's not good for the bones, it's not good for your feet and it's got not good for your stability. I mean, it's all the way up to, you know, all through your legs as far as that happening. And so this the the wider toe box. So I have some shoes from topo. They're my walking and running shoes, right? They're not disc golf shoes. So I have been trying to figure out some more trail style shoes, more disc golf style style shoes
that have the wider toe box. I think that's very important. Obviously waterproofs are important and not slipping on. I had AI had a pair of Columbia shoes that I bought and nice. They're not necessarily marketed as wide, wide toe box, but they have a wide toe box. But they are so good on the grip and they're very comfortable. The only thing is they're not waterproof. Yeah, your feet get wet and then
they just get gross. Yeah, it's just, it just kind of ruins not, it doesn't ruin it, but it's it's something that's on your mind. It's like, man, my feet are. Wet. Anyway. That's when you need some sealskin. Socks, I need to check out some videos. Yeah, you do. They're good. I did some other content, social media content a while back when I was doing freelancing and they're it's a good company. Yeah. It's got a lot going on. Yeah, that's a good dude for sure.
All right, let's let's see what other. Oh, we already talked. Oh, did we talk about treason already? We didn't talk about the. Treason yet. So the treason treason is been available for stores right now, correct? That is correct. So they're available if you're a retail store and you're looking for the newest, latest, hottest thing, the dynamic disk treason. We got first run fusions. And yes, if you happen to notice, this is actually my disk. It has my name and my PDJ
number. I can save your phone number. No, Yeah, here's my phone number. No. September 25th is when you can get that at dynamicdisks.com. It's been a great addition to the lineup. I feel like. I think it's been pretty popular. I know a lot of the you did a video, I know with some of the junior players and even some of the other players as well talking about it and how it flies for them. How does it fly for you? For me, it's here's the thing.
So I bought these when they became available for employees to purchase them and I took them out of the course. And I have a video coming out on my my channel where I compare the heist, treason and trespass. So I play around and I emphasize throwing these and these are so what's weird is and it could be me, but like the yellow 1 is a little more just even a hair flippier, but it just gets that extra little glide to it, which
I really love. So this one is kind of like, and people keep saying like a beat in Trespass where I could see that if I had a like a biofusion trespass that was really beat in, I could get it on a nice throw. I can get it to stand up and ride and ride the ride. And so that's what I really love about the the treason. It's definitely going to be a disc that I'm going to reach for a lot when it comes to this is what I this, this is the the
pitfall that I get into. I get so excited about all the new discs and I want to see what they do for me that I have too many different molds. I need to pick one and go. This is going to be my distance driver, right? And the treason is going to be that one so that I can get really used to it and know how it flies for me and use it. And then of course have the heist and the trespass depending on the level of when that I'm fighting. Totally. Yep, that's smart.
Yeah, that's that's a great way to learn a disc and how it flies. So. And then for the juniors, yeah, we have Ava, Virginia, Alex Kaden, and I would say her name wrong. Eden. Yeah, Eden. And so if you follow us on Instagram and on YouTube Shorts, you're going to start seeing some throws from the treason of them that we can kind of get an idea if you want to grab this or I really think you should. But yeah.
And then I did a video with Toss Up Disc Golf Tulsa content creators in disc golf, and they threw it and they really liked. It I sent some of the protos out to a handful of of content creators as well, and I know that they've been dropping some videos on their channels as well. We had a guy on our last one of our videos, he had a question and he posted a comment. Now that's perfectly fine. I think it's great if you post a comment and you will ask a
question about your form. But I really, again, I highly suggest you go to discgolfanswerman.com and send the questions in there. But I went ahead and grabbed it and thought we could talk about it on here. Grab it. Yes. How do I practice rotating on my heel after a drive? My brain doesn't want to transition from front to heel so I end up getting stuck and twisting my knee. I have now loose ligaments and pain. What advice do you have? Oh ow.
Yeah. First off, if it, if you're serious about trying to do more of a a heel spin, the best way to do that is standstills is just work on standstill shots and getting that rotation down and then slowly transitioning it into your full run up again. And when you do transition into that full run up, make sure you slow it down. Make sure you're absolutely not just ripping through it 'cause that is a great way to hurt your knee, your ligaments, your
everything, your leg. However, slowing everything down but starting with standstills is going to be 100% the the best method for you. Oh, sorry, are you done? Yeah. What's going on over there? I was looking at the next question. I know you're going to look up you. You pulled up Google so I thought maybe you were looking up ligaments or? Ligaments or no heel?
Spins. You I was looking at the next question and I wanted to look up something I was going to talk about of the next question, so I apologize, sorry. Oh. That's OK. So, yes, so good advice. Thanks, Eric. Next question, I did post this one on the Facebook page as well and a couple people said the same thing. Stand still drills, practicing the heel pivot. Someone said change the mental thought from heel rotation to lifting your toes. So there you go. Heel toe. Heel, toe, there you go.
Like when you're walking in stilettos. Yeah. All right. Last question for this episode is from can you put he says, have you noticed an uptick in the disc golf industry yet? I know it will never be like the COVID boom, but has things leveled off not only in sales but viewership? And let me wrap around the text and interest in disc golf. This is a good question for you just based on, you know, he asks about views and, you know, sales numbers.
I don't know, I don't think we'll, as you mentioned, Ken, we'll never be back to where COVID is. I don't think. I mean, unless we have another global pandemic, you know, which we don't really want, but. Please no. But disc golf's still growing. Absolutely. There's no doubt in my mind about it. There's still courses being put
in the ground. And if they're, if the sport wasn't growing, we wouldn't be getting calls from these cities trying to to put a beginner friendly course in their town or, you know, revamp, upgrade, of course that they currently have those kind of things. But the social media side, yes, I now as Bobby mentioned yesterday, it's going to be a little skewed on our numbers because we basically did nothing for however long. I felt a little bad, but I was like, that's kind of what happened.
Yeah, yeah. I mean, we were doing things, we just weren't doing things consistent, right? That's and that's where that's what social media is. You have to be consistent with it. So. Yeah. So what he's referring to is the trimester. We call them trimesters and we have a meeting where the all the staff and then a lot of different areas kind of upgrade, upgrade update on what's been happening and some goals and.
Sometimes upgrade, yeah. Sometimes, but so and what I I had mentioned is that, you know, one of the I was brought back to kind of get back to the grassroots, the community first community focused marketing and social media. And so one of my objective was to start doing a lot more content. And so when I was looking at the time I've been back compared to right before I came back the same time time period as far as I would think it was four months, is that there was a vast improvement.
Like our comments were up 64,000%. Our post as far as like how many posts we made was up, I don't remember even 3000% or some crazy number. And I was like I felt bad. But in the meeting, like in front of everybody, he's like, I don't know what y'all were doing before we got here, but yeah, I know they were, they were posting stuff, but they had so many other things to. Yeah, didn't have a dedicated. Social media and then nowadays you that's, that's so important to have someone that can
concentrate on social media. So that's their own focus. So yes, in in our world right now, things are great because they're getting back to where they used to be. Not quite, but close. And we're being more active on social media, which is fantastic.
Disc golf as a whole. The sense I get when I talk to other people in the industry, other people in social media and different, you know, just different facets of disc golf is that it feels like we're kind of like breaking even when you start comparing things as far as, and, and we're starting to see a, a tiny tick of an upward projectory, a trajectory, right?
Like, yes, every time people say we're, it's not back to COVID numbers and there's, there's no way to even think that we're going to get back to those COVID numbers, But there is a little bit of an uptick. Nothing to get all like we're back, baby, nothing like that, right? But it is positive, right? So there's still, there's still
a lot of opportunity. I think the, the, the bad thing is that our perception is very skewed because of COVID because there was such a huge uptick in, in interest and, and, and people buying. I mean, I remember we've talked about it. There are times where, like, we couldn't even keep discs on the shelves. And it was like things that, like, were so stale and wouldn't move all of a sudden was moving. Sling. Oh yeah. Remember the slings that we had forever? Nobody wanted them.
Yes, the West, West side, right, West side, the ceilings, yeah, and. Now they're back. And now they're back. So, so yeah. And, and I'm actually, I pulled up Google Trends and when I look back five years, it goes back to September 2020. You can see where COVID kind of still had an effect where it was high and it's gone down, gone down. But it's like if you look compared to 2024 to 2025, like I said, there's kind of a steadiness and there's of course
UPS, downs, up, downs, peaks. And valleys. Peaks and valleys. And then of course, seasonally, obviously there's a there's a down tick during different seasons, but you can see as far as what people are searching for and disc golf as a trend, it kind of bounces back up, not quite to the same levels, but it's going to take time.
Now, the reason before this question, I was, I said I was trying to look something up and wasn't paying attention is that I've been watching a YouTube channel called it's a guy named Michael girdly. And what he does is he looks at businesses that have have failed or going away or bankrupt and he kind of studies them and analyze them and talks about them. Does. He talk about us. Yeah, no, he talks about brands like Starbucks. The latest one I watched was Barnes and Noble, CrossFit.
What are some other things, some other big name brands that you would think of? They're like Toys-R-Us, different things like that. And yeah, the rise and fall, it's what he likes to call the, his videos, The Rise and Fall. I definitely, if you're into the business side of things, it's
very interesting. Anyway, my point is that it, what I found interesting is like, and so far in the probably the last 10 videos that I've watched where you talked about the rise and fall, COVID is like such a game changer. Yeah, it's literally, it's such has affected the landscape of business and everything. Yes. And I remember when it was happening, when Covad was happening, the pandemic, like toward the middle of it, people were saying, like business people were saying, you don't
understand the effects. This is going to happen. It's going to be for years and years and years. I couldn't even fathom kind of what he meant. I could kind of guess. Oh, yeah, I get it. Yeah. It's going to affect us for a while. But I didn't realize to what effect, to what degree. So what? Yeah, to what degree. So a lot of these stories, it happens where either COVID because they're a business that relies on people coming into their store. Well, you couldn't do that, right?
So they they didn't quite pivot like they should have. And then very similar story to ours where the disc golf where things were so great that we couldn't keep up. And then we started ordering based off that and and started forecasting based off of that. And then things went sharply down, and then now we're stuck with a lot. Of now we're stuck with. Slings again. So it's slings again, Yeah. So I would say is there hope for disc golf? I believe there is hope for disc
golf. I think it just we still have work to do. And, and what people really don't understand is we're still in our infancy, regardless of what you think, how long disc golf's been around. I mean, think about disc golf compared to other sports, like, like golf is the one example that everybody compares this to. Look how long golf's been around a couple more years. So we are, I mean, as much as I hate to say we are still in our infancy and we're still learning, still learning from
mistakes. And, and I think it's going to take doing new things, being innovative, you know, and, and getting out of certain trends that we're potentially in. And you know, taking it to that next level is what it's going to take. And corporate sponsorship, in my opinion, if we really want to take it to that next level, we can't just keep playing with recycled money. Yeah, gosh, I had a thought. Now I lost it. It's because I just dropped a. Bomb. A truth bomb? Truth bomb.
You can pick these things up really soon, these truth bombs. How do I do that? How do I think of something and then completely? It must not have been a very good thought. It was it was something to do with the the industry coming back anyway, so provocative, so provocative. That's why it works or whatever he says. All right, that's enough. That's all we got. That's all the questions we have for this episode. We appreciate you guys.
Remember disc golf answer man.com send in those questions and we'll talk about them and discuss them. Dak Gummit, their answer thought. We'll answer them. We'll answer them see on the next one. No, it's not the bottom.
