A week after a category 5 hurricane makes landfall in the U.S. Virgin Islands, a 32-year-old teacher named Hannah Upp goes missing. The search for her is complicated by two things: a second hurricane that hits the islands shortly after the first, and the strong possibility that Hannah may be in a fugue state — a form of amnesia that can last for years.
