In the 1920s a married Harvard professor takes the unconventional advice of his physician and begins an affair with a younger man. The arrangement seems to work happily for everyone involved. But in the summer of 1933, on a tiny island off the coast of Ireland, Arthur Kingsley Porter vanishes.
