Ep. 103: Steve Jobs- Mediterranean Salad, Pita Bread, Hummus, and Apples

We take a look inside the turmoil of Steve Jobs this week after we eat Mediterranean salads, pita bread, hummus, and apples. The film treads lightly through Steve’s reality distortion field as it covers three launches of products that propelled Steve Jobs and Apple into behemoths. Like the man, the writing is smart and quick-witted. The acting is superb with some almost emotional moments. We kind of wish the film would have focused on both Steve’s family and work-family relationships a little mo...

Ep. 102: Nightcrawler- Chicken Tacos

We get down and dirty with Nightcrawler this week after we eat some tacos. Lou may be one of the best stringers of all time. That happens when you’re willing to do anything to get the best footage, eliminate the competition, and manipulate your boss/girlfriend to get what you want. It’s a very uncomfortable ride along with Lou and the only thing that makes it bearable is his sidekick Rick. Nightcrawler is full of WTF moments that pay off in the end.

Ep. 101: Kingsman: The Secret Service- Big Macs with Fries and Twinkies

This week, we eat classic Big Macs with fries and Twinkies before we discuss Kingsman: The Secret Service. This is a great spy movie parody with a wonderful score and a lot of fantastic action scenes. A little light on character development, but it all works out for Eggy in the end.

Ep. 100: Ratatouille- Ratatouille, Strawberries, Bread, Cheese, and Wine

Thanks for celebrating the podcast’s 100th episode with us. This week, we eat ratatouille, bread, cheese, and some unmentioned wine before we discuss Ratatouille. Disney can really push the envelope on crazy ideas and this film is no exception. It’s an appropriate film to start our new year with because rats secretly control us too. We hope we don’t get shut down by the rat infestation.

Ep. 99: Auntie Mame- Caviar with Salmon Spread and Crackers, Shrimp Cocktail, and Champagne

Films are a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death except us. We end this year's holiday movie marathon by eating caviar with salmon spread and crackers, shrimp cocktail, and champagne (actually it was Prosecco) before we talk about Auntie Mame. Just like Mame, we've had our ups and downs but we always manage to come out on top. We hope you have a happy little ol' New Year and that you all Live, Live, Live!

Ep. 98: How the Grinch Stole Christmas- Roast Beast, Pudding, Bananas, Onions, and Eggnog

This week, we continue our holiday celebration and eat roast beast (chicken), pudding, bananas, onions, and eggnog. We pause for Blake to unload everything he ate and then discuss the live-action version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. We agree that Jim Carey is the perfect Grinch and that Max is the best dog actor ever. Brandon thinks Jim Carey is wasted on his over-the-top performances, Jose leads us on an exploration of multiple Whoville snowflake universe theory, and Blake believes that t...

Ep. 97: Klaus- Salmon, Cookies, and Berries

We begin our holiday season by eating salmon, cookies, and berries before we discuss Klaus. If you start watching the film and don't like the main character, wait for Margu. We all agree that she raises the film to another level just like a magical reindeer. Although the story could have a little more of the title character, this Santa Claus origin story is a good addition to your holiday season movie lineup

Ep. 96: Vice- Burnt Ends, Mashed Potatoes, and Cheeseless Pizza

We trade in our darkened hearts for new models this week and eat barbequed burnt ends, mashed potatoes, and pizza with only the sauce before we watch Vice. Christian Bale delivers another outstanding performance, this time as republican icon Dick Cheney. This one may get a little political, but everything’s fair in love and war.

Ep. 95: Crank: High Voltage - Sushi and Donuts

There’s an electrifying show this week when we get amped up on sushi and donuts and discuss the shocking film Crank 2: High Voltage. This film could be a masterpiece or a major disaster and we waste a lot of energy deciding which it is. Plug in, power up your device, and get your heart racing for an invigorating or at least mildly irritating experience.

Ep. 94: The Omen- Cappuccinos, Cake, Ice Cream, and Coke

We get all sugared up by eating and drinking cake, ice cream, cappuccino, and Coke before we dance with the devil and discuss The Omen. We would have liked a five-year-old superhuman battle between Jesus and Damien, but we weren't disappointed by great crunchy deaths. If Pop-Pop is listening, we're very happy you've joined us and you can forward to about twenty-five minutes in and not be bothered by our incessant opening shenanigans.

Ep. 93: Rocky- Raw Eggs, Turkey, Tomato Soup, and Apples

This week, we punch up some bloody good commentary about Rocky after we eat turkey, tomato soup, an apple, and a raw egg. This love story really packs a punch, but Rocky takes it all in stride while dealing with jabs from Paulie, Mickey, and Buddy. Rocky may lose the fight, but to us, he’ll always be a winner, even if he is a little forceful with the ladies. Yo, Adrian!

Ep. 92: The Time Traveler's Wife- Thai Food

We go back to the beginning or maybe the middle before coming back to the present to eat Thai food and present The Time Traveler’s Wife. We try to decide what we would do with our time if we could time travel. Would we change the past or future, win the lottery, or have some sexy time with ourselves?

Ep. 91: 10 Cloverfield Lane- Spaghetti, Goldfish Crackers, Ice Cream Cones, and Orange Soda

This week we continue to thrill down in our bunker with another scary film. We eat spaghetti, goldfish crackers, ice cream cones, and orange soda before we discuss 10 Cloverfield Lane. Do Martians and Russians walk amongst us? What would you do if there was a nuclear chemical alien attack? We don’t really answer these questions, but we do know that surprises await us once we come out of our bunker.

Ep. 90: The Shining- PB&J Sandwiches, Fries With Ketchup, Chocolate Ice Cream, Chocolate Milk, and 7-Up

Take a ride with us to the Overlook Hotel and eat PB&J sandwiches, fries with ketchup, chocolate ice cream, chocolate milk, and 7-Up before we discuss The Shining with our good friend Kyle. What is the meaning of everything Kubrick put in this movie? We aren’t sure we know, but it’s fun to talk about all the same. What we do know is that if you’re watching just the surface of this film like Blake, you’re a dummy.

Ep. 88: Silence of the Lambs- Lamb Chops, Corn, Peas, and Baked Potatoes

We’re very happy that you decided to put the lotion in the basket and come visit us in our cell to kick off this year’s spooky movie marathon. We’re eating spring lamb chops, corn, peas, and a baked potato before discussing Silence of the Lambs. The excellent cast really makes this incredibly meme-able fun family film for us. Thank you, Dr. Lecter for having us for dinner.

Ep. 87: The Terminator- Sandwiches

We eradicate some delicious post-coital sandwiches before talking about The Terminator this week. We all agree that it’s a fine film even if we don’t understand why Sarah Connor would have sex with a man that she has no chemistry with, why Terminators have real dongs and hilariously fake heads, and what a South American kid is doing taking Polaroid pictures at a remote Mexican gas station. A storm of sequels and spin-offs are coming and that’s all right as long as they keep to the source materia...

Ep. 86: The Goonies- Domino's Pizza, Baby Ruth, Potato Chips, Rocky Road Ice Cream, Whipped Cream, and Pepsi

HEY YOU GUYS! This week, we eat a Chunk and Sloth size meal of Domino’s pizza, Baby Ruth bars, potato chips, rocky road ice cream, whipped cream, and Pepsi before we talk about The Goonies. This film is filled with the boundless energy of kids on an epic quest to find rich stuff. We all agree that it’s fun but may have too many dick jokes… or, maybe not enough! It gave us the irreplaceable talent behind Thanos, Samwise, Waymond Wang, and a good-looking lawyer. Proof that anyone can be a Goonie....

Ep. 85: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse- Hamburgers, Fries, and Kind of a Bagel

With a great podcast comes a great dinner with a movie and this week we talk about Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse after we eat burgers. There’s no doubt that this film is one of the best superhero films ever made. Every part of the film’s story, animation, and soundtrack makes this one of the few films that we give all tens. We just hope the next Spider-verse film retains the power of this one.

Ep. 84: Midnight in Paris- Pastries, Bread, and Brie

We’re in Paris again this weekend where we eat pastries and bread with brie and discuss Midnight in Paris. Creative characters abound in this film, but are they just caricatures of artists from the 1920s, or were they actually just a bunch of crazy characters that keep inspiring the world a hundred years later? You decide. One thing we all agree with is Corey Stoll as Ernest Hemingway makes one very sexy icon.

Ep. 83: Portrait of a Lady on Fire- Beef Burgundy and French Bread

We’re back and on fire this week when we eat beef burgundy and French bread before we talk about Portrait of a Lady on Fire. There’s no doubt that the film is beautifully shot and the sound is exceptional, but it pales in comparison to the ladies in the film. Blake should know. He famously likes the pretty ladies. Jose is the most cultured of us and won’t be swayed by the pretty lady shenanigans. And well, Brandon is just along for the wild pretty lady ride.

Ep. 82: Letting Go of God- Hamburgers

We go a little off the beaten path this week when we eat hamburgers and discuss Julia Sweeny’s monologue Letting Go of God. Julia’s talent for captivating storytelling takes us on her search for answers to some of life’s biggest questions. We also discover answers to some of our most pressing questions about self-love and whether or not we can accumulate enough points to go to Heaven one day. No matter if you’re a believer in God or Not-God, we hope you’ll find our meandering through Julia’s sto...

Ep. 81: Shrek 2- Buffalo Chicken Wraps, Curly Fries, and Sourdough Soft Tacos

We’re joined by Tiffanie this week to eat buffalo chicken wraps, curly fries, and what we came up as an alternative to sourdough soft tacos (Jack in the Box tacos and sourdough bread) not recommended. After sipping our cups of love potion laced tea, we talk about Shrek 2. This is one of Tiffanie’s favorite films. We all have our own problems with holes the film’s story but all of us agree that the pop references and gags are so great the film deserves tens all around. We’ll wait until we watch S...

Ep. 80: Trainspotting- Tomato Soup, Mushroom Soup, and Vanilla Ice Cream

This week, we continue our heroin-filled foray into film with Trainspotting. We ate Renton’s detox diet of tomato soup, mushroom soup, and vanilla ice cream which didn’t mix well in our stomachs. It’s a good thing we’re all mates and had a clean bathroom instead of the worst toilet in Scotland. Oh, baby.

Ep. 79: Requiem for a Dream- Hard-Boiled Eggs and Bagels

We take our diet to new extremes this week. We don’t juice or do keto and we certainly don’t want to eat any nasty grapefruit, which would just make us all miserable, so we decided to eat hard-boiled eggs and bagels before discussing Requiem for a Dream. Is this film about making addicted people miserable just for misery’s sake or is there something in the story that makes the misery much more meaningful? We’ll let you ponder the film’s existential crisis. We’re going to lay off the hard stuff f...

Ep. 78: Knives Out- Baked Beans, Sausage, and Biscoff Cookies

We set the table this week with our finest cutlery to eat baked beans with sausage and Biscoff cookies before we try to keep everything down and discuss Knives Out. We gentlemanly ascertain that this is one of Jose’s favorite movies to watch while he eats milk and cookies.

Jun 26, 20221 hr 43 min

Ep. 77: Clue- Mock Shark Fin Soup

We’re aided in our unwavering search for who done it this week by watching Clue and eating mock shark fin soup only because we couldn’t find the monkey’s brains. We all agree that the film has holes and its multiple endings don’t really line up with the rest of the film, but the comedy and performances are treasures that are to die for.

Ep. 76: Star Trek: The Motion Picture- Happy Meals

Jose seeks food in happy meals, Blake boldly goes where he has never gone before, and Brandon gets lost in the final frontier as we discuss Star Trek: The Motion Picture. There’s a lot to unpack in this pop culture film. We do our best to make your trip through the stars as entertaining as possible on a ship where no one eats, sleeps, or goes to the bathroom.

Ep. 75: Pan's Labyrinth- Grapes, Milk, Chicken, Oranges, and Bread

We’re joined by our good friend Kyle this week to eat a dinner of roast chicken, grapes, oranges, bread, and some fresh milk; and discuss Pan’s Labyrinth or El Laberinto del Fauno in Spanish. We all agree that it’s a great film, but some of us have different opinions on what could have made it better. Jose thinks the Spanish lisp is obnoxious and hard to ignore. Brandon thinks that The Faun should be more deceiving. Blake thinks Ofelia’s death is an example of Heaven being an instant. Kyle think...

Ep. 74: Interstellar- Cornbread, Canned Corn, Corn on the Cob, and Corn Nuts

This week, we eat cornbread, canned corn, corn on the cob, and Corn nuts before we talk about Interstellar. Is the science sound? As long as Matthew McConaughey is talking in his sexy drawl in a film with spectacular cinematography, who cares? Love may be something that can transcend space, time, and gravity and we’re willing to believe it as long as Timothée Chalamet can act like he has some emotion too.
