Diamond Diehards Turns One Year Old!

Joe Rizzo brings you baseball (now for a year!). Riz & "The Dawg" Jeff Healy brought the show over the one-year threshold as they welcomed in frequent co-host/guest Jerry Milani to celebrate the memorable moments from Year One of Diamond Diehards. If you're new to us, find out the backstories of how the show began and get some insight into the backgrounds of Riz, Dawg and Jerry, who have known one another for over 30 years (that means they've been friends for longer than most other podcasters have been alive ;-). This was not just a trip down (recent) memory lane, as Riz, Dawg and Jerry discussed the ramifications of injuries to White Sox OF Eloy Jimenez, closer Kirby Yates and CF George Springer of the Blue Jays, and Yankees 1B Luke Voit. There was some talk about a possible MLB misstep by not bringing enough televised content from Spring Training, and a quick preview of the upcoming Strat-O-Matic Elite Media Experts League Finals, between Riz (Cardinals) and Sportchie.com guru and MLB Network contributor Joe Lemire (Red Sox). In fact, Lemire is going to be on an upcoming show to discuss the Strat league and share his wealth of baseball knowledge! Our social media pal and teen baseball phenom Lillian Martineau aced her tryout and made the JV baseball team at her high school, so there was a pause for celebration of this inspiring young athlete. And the guys wished former Orioles closer Gregg Olson a healthy recovery from prostate cancer. Dawg got things going with Veteran of the Day.
