Dawg presented Veteran of the Day, the late Chuck Yeager, who died Dec. 7 at age 97. Brigadier General Yeager was the epitome of American dominance in the air, most famously remembered in the book and movie The Right Stuff. Then a captain in the Air Force, Yeager was the first person to break the sound barrier Oct. 14, 1947. He shot down five planes in a single day in World War II, and 13 overall. He flew over 150 different aircraft as a test pilot and logged over 10,000 flight hours.
