You are listening to Dialogue Frog, a podcast for English listening practice. Luke, I have to say I really like those socks. Oh, thanks. They're interesting socks. Yeah, they are. They're uh, they're warm and fuzzy. Warm and fuzzy. You know, you're a warm and fuzzy person. Oh, thanks. Appreciate that. You too. Thank you. Thank you. It's the first time someone's called me warm and fuzzy. I usually don't get compliments like that. Well, you're warm and fuzzy.
Thank you. What, what's the favorite compliment you've ever received? After a show, one time-. A musical performance. Musical performance. A lady came up to me and she's like, "I've never heard anyone play guitar like that before." So like that was cool. It made you feel good? Yeah. Yeah. For me, I, it's, it's not really about like, when people give me a direct compliment, but when something I've done is recognized in a way that I'm invited to do more of something-. Oh yeah.
So if it's at work, for example, if I've done a project well, and then I'm included for another project, that's similar-. Yeah. That- it's like a backhanded compliment-. Yeah. I think of, of my work. How- do you ever get those compliments though, that you're not quite sure if the person means it as a compliment or an insult? Yeah. I've had a few of those. I hate those. I'm also worried that sometimes when I give a compliment, people will think that I'm not sincere.
