Episode description

We start this week with Andrew's latest thoughts on the markets in the Dewing Grain market report for week commencing 2nd December 2019. In Farmchat Andrew meets up Fergus Fitzgerald, Head Brewer at Adnams, to talk about the importance of their Southwold roots and how drinks such as beer and gin are leading the way in a return to an appreciation of the subtleties of flavour. The relationship between Adnams and the Holkham Estate, who provide the malting barley for Adnams in a deal brokered by Dewing Grain, is discussed as an example of a direct relationship that helps to tell a story to the customer about provenance. Our beer this week is one of Adnams's most popular - Broadside - which at 6.3% gets the morning's trading off to a good start.
