  • How can I serve Christ?!  did I fall into the trap of doing things out of works and not by faith?
  • Find a Balance between effort and relaxation!
    • Between doing and being
  • Works can be a slippery slope, we do not want to find ourselves being  apathetically passive expecting God to open every door but we also do not want to fall into a place of striving  with a constant  “let's make this happen” mentality
  • We need to choose into walking our walk out with Faith and Works, in balance with each other.
  • We all want formulas but the one formula that is written to work is the living water!

Resting in God by the living water, rooting ourselves in His water. Allowing his water to be the place of rest, nourishment, and guidance.

Drinking the Living Water

  • Drinking is remarkably simple.  Easier than eating even
  • A person can be dirty and drink, unworthy but still drink…
  • We have to actually participate to take a drink
  • We do not have the power to make certain fruits grow, we need to take care of the tree. Cultivate the ground, tend to surroundings, water the tree, and prune the tree!  Only in this can we have productive good fruit!
  • How does the works mentality deter us from producing good fruits?—thinking we can do God a favor, earn our way to a better place, or believing we owe God “I'm not doing enough so I have to “do” more”
  • We can not do anything for God that He does not already have. We get to participate in what He is doing.
  • He put a call on our lives and wants us to pursue it, putting effort towards God and His will.
  • Are you forcing yourself to do things to simply suffer for Christ; not because God asked you, but to serve Him in your own way?
  • He calls us to be planted in Him FIRST, trees flourish because they are planted by the water. When our roots are always being fed, we will not fail to bear fruit!
  • Honor the Sabbath - we need to rest and quit reaping the consequences of doing everything we “think” is needed.
  • Are you trying to make sure you are prepared and equipped to whatever or wherever the Lord leads?! God will provide what is needed. Time to set down expectations and our own way of equipping ourselves.
  • The Lord chose you and there is no work needed to be chosen
  • Saul was chosen..just an ordinary man out gathering donkeys for his father, who was called by God to be king. He had no clue he was just an ordinary man called to do something extraordinary in Christ. All he needed to do was be receive and be obedient.
  • The work we need to apply ourselves to is OBEDIENCE
  • What is our motivation? It should be to obey, walk obediently, live victoriously in our purpose; in who God has called us to be..surrendered as a vessel for Him!
  • We can do all things through Christ, but God did not call us to do all things! He called us to be content, content in all circumstances because HE did does all things.
