Community leaders are again calling for peace and asking residents to step forward with any information as investigators work to find who's responsible. The young man's condition remains critical, a sobering reminder of Detroit's ongoing struggle with youth violence. In other news, a bizarre attempted bank robbery in Southfield involving
an axe has left residence stunfund. The accused didn't manage to escape with any money, but did injure a woman inside the PNC bank on Northwestern Highway. Police quickly apprehended the suspect and thankfully, the woman is expected to recover. Incidents like this underline the resilience of our community and the tireless work of local law enforcement to keep us safe. For a bit of inspiration, let's highlight Nick Fujetti, a Detroit Public school's teacher and musician who's making waves with
his new children's book, The Smallest Fazuzu Flum. Nick will be sharing his work and encouraging young minds to imagine and express themselves at the Detroit Public Library on July eighth.
