Episode description

Some parents are well used to the drill - they know the ins and outs for packing when it comes to sending your child away to boarding school. But for many, it's the first time and with so many bits of advice coming your way, it's not always easy to wade through the suggestions and come out with the necessities. So we've put together your Ultimate Packing List - whether you're a first time boarder parent or a well-oiled machine they'll be some great ideas in here for you. Your child's school will provide a standard list, and we've included many of those general items. This list however, includes the special things that only a parent who has been on this road a few times will know about. Consider it the "tips and tricks" from a boarding school insider. Amanda Ferrari, from Boarding Schools Expo Australia has sent three children away to boarding school, survived the packing, the goodbyes and the grief that follows. She's also consulted her wide networks from right across Australia - parents who have also been a part of a boarding school community. Enjoy our very first Bonus episode on Destination Boarding, a podcast for boarder parents and carers from wherever they call home.
