Music. Welcome to denim wrapped nightmares, Tipsy exchange Podcast where we explore the supernatural series, episode by episode, over
drinks, we'll discuss the lore the gore and what we adore about the Winchesters and their adventures.
I'm Burleigh and I'm a new fan of the series.
I'm LA, and I'm here along for the ride. Now let's get tipsy. Hello, LA, hello Burly. I thought, for the episode we watched today, I thought we were going to get like a double feature with another possessed car. At first.
I know you said that whenever things started happening. You went ghost car. Yeah,
well, I mean,
I understand why you jump to that conclusion, yeah, especially after last week. Yeah. So our
previous one, before this one, was the racist truck.
It was a racist truck. Yes,
it was a small town that Dean had dated this girl back in the day, Cassie, she had her her dad recently, recently was killed in a car accident, and it ended up being this whole thing from back in the 60s. Her parents were an interracial couple. Wasn't frowned upon. This one guy in the town didn't like it. He basically tried to kill them. Turned out it was this. This truck was tied to
this guy, Cyrus. Who did she? He was dating her mother at the same time that her father was she was playing the playing the field. So the Cyrus guy found out beat up her dad, but he got, he got one over on the guy and beat him to death, and him and his friends hid the body in the swamp. But then all these years later, I'm not going to go into all of that, but basically it was a racist truck going after Black men and Dean and Sam saved the day by making it go through
a church. There you go. That's it. Oh,
excellent summary. Yeah, thanks. You did really good.
Yeah, great. Best one yet.
So this week, we watched nightmare, which is the 14th episode in Season One. And the episode opens up on this really old car. Think it was a Dodge,
yeah, it was. And it pulls, which I don't mean to interrupt you, but go ahead, like in the last episode, when you were doing the the lore, oh, for the your ride, zest, car. I was like, Oh, shit. Is this? Is this? What this? Is this? The Golden two bars, two car episodes in a row anyway, but it was a Dodge, right? Yeah, okay, so it was
like a limited edition dodge, yeah, 330 I don't remember the year. This one was not gold. No, it was not, it was not the Golden Eagle, but they zoom in on the license plate, and it started with an MF. And so I was like, motherfucker, 6037
and I was really confused. Yeah, why is she saying this?
I just assumed, like, we needed to remember it. For some reason, I didn't even pay
attention to the MF. I just saw the numbers. So I was like, What is she saying?
So he pulls into the garage, and the garage door starts closing, and he's looking around very confused, and you realize he didn't do anything to close the garage door. And then the locks snap shut, and he can't get out, and the engine starts again, and he's very frantic, yeah, the garage fills up with smoke very quickly, exhaust, yeah, the exhaust from the car very, quickly, it starts coming through the vent. He's trying to block the vent with his jacket or something. None. He doesn't
he finally tries to bust the window, but it's he's too
late. He's too weak. He's already been breathing in the carbon monoxide, and you basically watch him die a slow, not as slow as I think it would be if it was real life, but a slow death. Cut to Sam, and we find out he's having another dream. It's another premonition, and he is freaked out. Fully clothed, t shirt. I said, Jama pants. I
was like, in pants.
I got out of bed and LA was not happy. I mean, Dean was dressed too. Yeah, they maybe they were somewhere chilly and they needed the extra fabric. So Sam's freaking out and is like, Dude, we need to go right now. I just had another premonition. Some shits going down. Let's go so it does this really cool transition from the lamp to the headlight of the Impala. I really liked that transition. That was pretty cool. Did
you say that that was his? What his dream was, was that guy? Yes, yeah.
We cut to Yeah, the guy that that was all Sam. Dream the guy in the Dodge, right? So we cut two. They're in the Impala, and Sam is talking about the license plate. So I was right that it was important. He said I saw the license plate. And he calls Michigan police or something and pretends to be a cop looking into stuff himself and gives them the license plate number. He did not say, motherfucker. He said, What was
it? Mary Frank. Mary Frank, and the cop tells him the name of the car owner and gives an address. So they're going to Michigan, and Dean says we're roughly two hours away. So they go ahead and head to the house, but by the time they get there, there's cops everywhere. The wife is outside crying. It's too late. They see Jim Miller getting put in a body bag. They
didn't make it in time. Like his like creepy little teen son standing there, yeah, just menacingly over in the corner, which, now that we've watched the full episode, we should have known. Yeah, he stood out. Should have known from the beginning, something was up there. And so the assumption is that Jim Miller committed suicide. But of course, because of Sam's premonition, the Winchesters know otherwise. They know something shady is going on here. I just want to say, I love Sam. I
was about to say I'm sweet, Sam. Sweet. Sammy, he
was so upset they didn't make it there in time. But at the same time, why didn't you tell the cops, hey, there's something suspicious going on at that house. Go follow that car, get to the house, do something once you had the address and the man's name, why didn't you call back and pretend to be somebody else? Yeah, if it was really a concern that this is about to happen,
well maybe he thought, I mean, everything else that he's like, had the premonitions. You know, it's like, the next day, it took time. Yeah, right. So maybe I just, like, didn't think it was happening, right? Then that
quickly. That makes sense. That makes sense, you know what? You're right. La, Sam, I'm sorry. Thanks. Sorry, Sam, I judged. I judged too quickly. Anyway. So speaking of the next day, they decide, okay, we need to go talk to the family. And Sam is talking to Dean and says they literally just had someone die, which FYI hasn't stopped them in the past, right? But they're being more empathetic now, growth. They're growing up, so Sam says they aren't going to want to talk to
us. They literally just had someone die. They think this person committed suicide. How are we going to get them to talk to us? And Dean says, Oh, I know. And so it shows the brother in law open the door to the house the next day, and Sam and Dean are dressed up like priests. New fantasy unlocked.
I know it's wrong, but I liked it. Yeah, as I mean, it was all black, just that white.
I asked la I said, what if it was like hot priests from fleabag and the Winchesters kicked in your door dressed like that? And said, Neil,
I probably pass out. I
dropped to my knees so quick. Oh, for sure. But then I pointed out I'd need that little bench thing that you can kneel on the little bench because Sam, he's put taller than me. I need to step stool. What am I gonna do? I'm gonna need those. Oh, my God, that's awful. Isn't that like a little stool that you kneel on? Like to help pad your knees. It's got, it's like a short little stool for you to kneel on to pray at church. Yeah, well, yeah, like, flips
down forever. I'd need, I'd need, I'd need Sam to bring one. That's awful. You're awful.
But man, now you just might need one for Dean too. He's tall, too. Remind me of fleabag. And I loved that
show. Winchesters were the original hot priest, apparently, I guess so damn. Yeah, it was nice. I'd tell them my sans me too. It was nice. It was nice little shot, yes, and it was fun because they teased us with it, because they were showing it from the back, and it just looked like they were in their normal black suits at first. So you didn't get the full picture until that brother in law opened the door, and you got to see them from the front
well, and he wasn't impressed. He was a fucking Grump. Yeah, he's
a real dickhead. Yeah. Roger is his name, and he is the brother of Jim Miller, the gentleman who passed away at the beginning of the episode. Anyway, they go inside and they talk to Alice, who is the widow, and it's, I swear that's one of the ants from Sabrina as a teenage witch. Like,
like, I told you, I was like, I looked at her, and I was like, I think that's her. But then it was like, maybe it's not. But I think by the end, I was like, yeah, that's her.
It's her. It's her. The OG series, not the Netflix rendition, right? Yeah, it was one of the ants. I don't, know, I don't know the actress's name. I didn't look it up. So they're sat on the couch, and they're talking to her. She sits very close to Dean. I would have to blame her. Don't blame her at all. And while they're sitting there chatting, she brings up Max, who is her son? She calls him her son, but we found out
later, it's her stepson. He. Sitting over in the dining room area by himself, corner in the back, in the corner, again, not acting normal, which we find out more about why. Later, Sam says, Hey, I'm gonna go talk to max and see if he needs to, you know, talk to me about anything, Dean. You You know, sit here. So Dean talks to the widow for a little bit and is asking her their normal questions. He does
it in a really smooth way. I was talking about the old house, and I'm sure you guys have to deal with old house problems. And he's like, cold drops, smells, noises, so he's asking the normal questions, trying to figure out what's going on here. And she's just like, No, everything's fucking great. I love this place. It's the bomb. Best house ever, best house
ever. It's been amazing. And Dean's like, What the fuck? So he goes and hunts around the house to try and see if he can find anything, pulls out a fancy new
gadget, a new one. Yeah, he's upgraded from that EMF little thing. Haven't seen
it before. It doesn't look like a Walkman. It doesn't look like the red EMF thing. It
looks like like they they built it themselves. It does. It's
very Ghostbusters, yeah, and it's got a little screen on it, yeah? So where'd the screen come from? What were the green lasers supposed to do? I don't know. It's never explained. He's touching things, checking to see if furniture is dusty. It seems like touching things and doing stuff. So Dean's a hunting All right. And in the meantime, Sam is talking to max. And Max is like, flaring his nostrils, and he's what just happened over there too.
I knew you were gonna bring it up, but just the way you said, I was
like, oh my god, sorry. Max is distraught, and he's nostril acting, and he's looking very, very pale, very sickly, and he's just like,
pink around the eyes, and then real pale, yeah, and
he's not doing well, no, not doing better after talking to Sam, he just seems distraught. And Sam's just like, Okay, we're gonna go. So Sam goes and finds dean. And Dean's like, there ain't shit here, I don't know what to tell you. Sam's like, well, I don't know, there ain't shit here. I don't know what to tell you. So they go and do some research. Nothing bad has happened at the house. Nothing bad has happened on the land. They can't figure out, what the fuck is going on? Is
there a poltergeist? Is there a ghost? What's happening? They don't know, so they just figure, okay, there must be something going on with the family, like the people in the family must be cursed somehow. And Sam makes some joke about how their family's cursed too. And Dean's like, No, we're not fuck you anyway, later on, they're at the hotel, and they're talking about this shit, trying to figure it out. And Sam is obviously getting a really bad migraine.
He keeps pinching the bridge of his nose, and he's squinting his eyes, and it came on fast. Yeah, I remember you going, what the fuck is going on here? He was not enjoying for a second. I was like, is he gonna have a seizure? Yes, it was very dramatic, yeah. And he gets a vision. So Sam is now having visions when he's awake, which not fun. Don't let that boy drive. And it looked painful. Yeah, he did not look like he
was enjoying himself. And he has a vision of Roger Miller, so the asshole brother that answered the door, yeah, yeah, the grump, and he's at his apartment, and he's putting away groceries, and the window in his kitchen opens, and he looks at it and sees it opening by itself. Now, if my window fell shut by itself, I wouldn't think much of it. It's a different story. Yeah, right. But he sees it open, going
up, up, yeah, on its own. Doesn't even flinch, yeah. It's just, I'd be fucking out of there. I'd
beat the fuck out of there. So he just goes over and shuts the window and locks it, locks it, and then it unlocks by itself and opens again. Does he get the fuck out of there at that point. No, no, sure, doesn't he decides to go investigate the window further, and
he's got to stick his head out the window. Yeah, to do so
gotta, like, lay down under the window like a fucking guillotine. Not
even, like, leaning out and looking down. He literally turns upside down and is looking at the fucking window. Yeah, like normal,
who does that? I would have been the fuck out of there. So it's like a Darwin Awards kind of thing. Oh yeah, he's not saying he deserved it, but just, you don't know what the Darwin Awards are. Google them. Come on anyway, as all of us would have been expecting. At this point, the window falls shut very quickly, and we finally get our second blood splooge of the series. It was pretty decent one. It was really messy,
and that head, oh, and I love this was terrible, but he had like a little box below his window that I guess had like flowers or something in it. So that's where his head. Sitting lovely.
He gets decapitated, yeah? Straight up, guillotines his ass. But again, he like, laid there, basically setting it up, asking for it, yeah. Now Sam is like, Oh, fuck. We gotta go. We gotta go help Roger. So they haul ass to Roger's apartment, which, who knows how they found out where he lived right, but they did. And they pull up alongside him, and he's walking on the sidewalk with his groceries, going home. And they're like, hey, motherfucker, we need to talk to you. And he's
like, fuck off. Leave me alone. I'm grumpy. I'm grumpy. Man. He's
not into religion, and he thinks, he still thinks they're the priests. Yeah, he's like, these fucking priests just fallen banned
on me everywhere. Being the grump that he is he's like. So he goes inside. So Sam and Dean find a parking spot very quickly and get out and go down like the side path. And they find this iron gate. Dean kicks it open, and they run through. And they go running up like the fire escape, I think it was, and they see the blood splooge, too late again,
poor Sam. Sam
was very upset. He was doing some nostril stuff this episode as well, which we'll find out. Hey,
they're connected. I
know I was saying we'll find out they're connected. So maybe it's one of the symptoms of their their little connection thing is the nostril thing. Dean tells Sam to wipe off all their fingerprints, and then proceeds to break and enter into the apartment. I'm gonna
take a look around, smart, good thinking idiot.
They don't find anything in the apartment, nothing to make them think, ghost, ghoul, whatever. So they are stumped. And they are just like, yeah, it just must be this family curse. Oh, this is when they decide it must be the family that's cursed. Yeah? Sam is like, well, I relate because I'm a melodramatic. Thought you were out of order. Yeah, I was, I was, I was, you're right. Okay, so, yeah, melodramatic. Sam being like, oh, like, I relate. I get it, because we're cursed
too. And Dean's like, no, quit being dramatic. Don't
you say that about our family, right? He is loyal to the end with that family and their dad, Dane, good old Danes. He really is just that project, prodigal son.
He cheat on a girl in no time, though, what do you mean? I don't see him being a loyal boyfriend, is my point. Oh, well. I mean, he'd be loyal to me, but obviously, you know, anyway, they visit Max next and yet again, he doesn't give them a lot of helpful information, yeah, but he does happen to mention where the family used to
live. So Sam and Dean decide to go there, and they end up talking to a next door neighbor, and the neighbor reveals that Max used to get beat, and that the dad would leave bruises on him, broke his arm at least twice. He mentions that the brother or the uncle, the brother in law, was just as likely to beat on max if he was there, and that the stepmother, Alice, was the worst, because she would literally just stand there and do nothing. Yeah, she would pretend like nothing was
happening. And that's where we find out she's stepmom, not his actual mom, correct? And so Dean, I don't like, how correct thing good for you. So after that, though, Sam and Dean are kind of like, what stepmother, what do you mean? Yeah, are you airing out your vagina?
My legs, not my vagina? Well, from my
angle, it just looks like it's my leggies. So they end up asking him to elaborate. We thought that Alice was Max's mom. And he says, No, I think the mom died in a car crash or something. I don't know exactly what happened. It was kind of mysterious, but Max's mom died as they're standing there talking to the neighbor, Sam starts pinching the bridge of his nose again and squinting his eyes. He's getting that pain. The neighbor's like, are you okay? What is going on? And Dean
says, we're fine. And he just helps his brother, helps him to the car, taking care of baby, little baby, Sam, like he does. And Sam has another vision. This time it's max and Alice, and he sees Max confronting Alice about how she didn't help him, that she didn't do anything to try and stop the abuse, and he makes a knife levitate. So it's like,
oh shit. Max is telekinetic. The knife gets really close to Alice's eye, and she has this perfect tear fall out of her eye, like that shot was pretty good, and she's begging for forgiveness and saying, I didn't do anything. And Max is just like, that's the point, you didn't fucking do anything, and just knife through the eye kills her, goes through the back of the skull into the wall. Boom. So Sam says, fuck, man, we gotta get over, get back to the house.
Yes, because Max is about to kill Alice, and luckily, they get there in time. They get there right when Max is about to confront Alice, and things were just starting to get a little heated, they knock on the door. Actually, I think they kick in the door and came in, right? I think they did because, because Alice went father and I was thinking, Okay, if that were to happen today, with today's ginseng Ackles and Jared Padalecki, you would go, daddy,
oh my god.
And then drop to your knees. So they're just like, hey, hey, oh, hi, we're here checking on you. Hey, Max, why don't you come outside? Come outside. With us. Come outside. Let's go chat. And Max, at first, is like, okay, I guess. And as they're going outside, Dean goes to open the door, and he looks over and gives a sexy little smirk. It was a cue, very sexy little smirk. But Max does not fall for the smirk he sees and a mirrors reflection that Dean has a guns, pretty gun on
him. Yeah, he's got more going on in his pants than Max would like, yeah, sure, that gun's right there. Pretty, pretty ivory handle and all that. And Max says, fuck you. He slams the door, he slams all the shutters. He's like, no one's going anywhere. We're not going anywhere. Y'all obviously know something's up. They're not priests. They're lying to us. What the fuck is going on?
Lots of shutter action in the last two episodes.
I want shutters like that, though I want them so bad boy, I like them. I don't like mini blinds. They're hard to clean. Yeah, they are. And even like the thicker blinds that are wood or whatever, they get warped and stuff, they're just hard to clean. I just feel like shutters are easier. Yeah, my dad has them at his house. So Sam is cool, calm and collected, which says a lot for Sam, because Jared Padalecki is normally kind of sweaty and hot. I mean, he's always hot, but you
know what I mean? Cool, calm and collected, totally handling the situation, saying, let's talk like, just you and me, it'll be fine. And Sam says it'll just be the two of us. And Dean's like, No, I don't fucking think so, not having it. And Sam's just very calm Stern is like, yes, you will. Yes, you will. So Dean helps Alice up, they go upstairs, and Sam and Max go hang out in the living room to have a little discussion. Throughout this discussion, Sam's being really sympathetic.
Max, sympathetic. Sympathetic. Max is telling Sam more about the abuse and how it's been ongoing. They've just gotten smarter about it, and so now it's kind of making sense. This is a traumatized little kid that's not been able to get away from abuse, and he's a victim, yeah? And, oh, my God, in that bruise. Oh, it was terrible. He's
like, try or what does he say? Like, no, not just when I was little, try next week or last week, right? Yeah.
So it's been happening recently, and he's just traumatized. As they keep talking, Sam is asking questions about when it started and what happened to his mom, and all of these questions, and it's revealed that Max's mom died in the exact same way as Sam and Dean's mom pinned to the ceiling in a fiery blaze in his nursery over the crib, and Max's dad actually blamed max for what happened to the mom, and that was what he used as an excuse for the abuse. So Jim Miller is
terrible person. Yeah, Sam is pretty shocked to hear this, because it's not really normal. And when he's asking more questions, he figures out he and Max their abilities started to kick in at roughly the same time. Obviously, Max's abilities are stronger and more violent. Yes, I said more advanced. I said violent. But either way that they're figuring out there's this connection between the two of them. I will
say, the guy that's playing the kid that's playing Max, did a good job. He did great, like, especially in that scene with Sam, and then the next scene, like, really well done.
He did really well with going from menacing and being like, What's wrong with him to me feeling sympathy and being empathetic and, oh, my god, I'm so sorry. Yeah, even he did well. He did well. He
did really good.
So Sam is trying to convince max to let his stepmother, Alice go. He's like, I know she didn't do anything. I know she didn't help you, but she also didn't abuse you. You've got to stop killing people and trying to do that. And Max is just like, fuck. No, no. He's too angry, and he can't let it go. Bless him, bless him.
He throws Sam telekinetically into a closet and slams the door and slides this big armoire dresser thing in front of the doors, and at that time, Sam has another vision of Max going upstairs, getting Dean's gun, threatening to shoot Alice Dean, being the hero that he is getting in the way, and saying, if you're gonna hurt her, you're gonna have to go through me, and Max just being like, all right, bang and shooting and killing Dean right in the head, right through his beautiful fucking
face. We got another little bit of a blood splooge, but it's not the official kind of blood splooge that I'm looking for, so we're not going to count it. We're just going to say that it's one blood splooge this episode. It was a pretty gory little shot, though. And then we cut back to Sam in the closet, and he's just like, No. And the dresser moves by itself. So Sam is having premonitions and is apparently telekinetic as well.
Now Sam runs upstairs, and he bursts in the door just in time to stop Max from killing Dean, and he's his face. It was so open and vulnerable. And Sam, he looked so cute. He's like, Max, this isn't gonna solve the problem. Please. Let me help you, Max, even
like this, like was shaking on max, yeah, just
traumatized. I mean, just oh, I mean, you literally go from the beginning of the episode being like, Who's this fucking freak to the end of the episode just wanting to hug him, yeah? And he looks at Sam, and he just says, You're right, this isn't going to fix anything, and he turns the gun on himself.
It was awful. It was
very sad ending for a victim of abuse. It was just, it was
it was hard, yeah, and Sam, I mean, feels like you failed another time. Yeah. Tried so hard.
Well, then he saw himself in Max, yeah, too. So it shows later on that the police are talking to Alice, and she is covering for the Winchesters. She's saying, I don't know where the gun came from, and just definitely covering for them. And yet again, we have a bandage with a lot of blood. Yeah, I
just, I don't we get it, you know, they're glad the bandage is there. We don't need the blood on
it. They're injured. Yeah, we understand the bandage did a good enough job conveying that we don't need the massive amount of fake blood on the outside of the bandage. It's a bit much. It's a little much. She's like, I have no one. Okay. I
mean, it doesn't sound like it was a great life,
right? Yeah, we see Sam and Dean, and they are talking, and Sam can't help but wonder if whatever killed their mother was after him and Max, you know, maybe they were trying to get to us because we have abilities. And Dean just kind of poo poos it away like, no, no, no, no, no, no, it's fine. We're gonna get the monster and it'll be fine. And Sam kind of is like, by the way, I moved a dresser, and Dean goes, Oh, that's great, that you're getting some upper body strength going good for
you. And Sam says, No, I moved it. How might max could move things? I moved it with my mind. And Dean tries to give him a spoon to bend his spoon, make little matrix. Shout out there. And he is just assuring Sam that he's not going to let anything bad happen, being that big protective brother, and they leave their very spacious, large motel room that had trees in it somehow, and head out.
Sorry, I don't know where these uh motels are, but they're very spacious rooms, and they're
always the decoration. The decor is pretty unique. In my opinion, most of the times I go to the bedding is some 80s, fantastic pastel, you know, kind of color, and there's some generic watercolor painting on the wall. You know, everything looks like it's from the 80s or 90s. When I think of a hotel, a motel room, I haven't stayed in a motel in a while, maybe they are more
right, fancy, yeah. Who knows when I last time I was in one? Can't remember hotel, hotel, holiday and,
oh, and also, when Sam got shoved in the closet, I could not which he's a terrible person, but I could not help but thinking like Sammy in the closet, oh yeah, he said the closet and the dresser in front of the closet. Oh my god, I'm not even gonna say the artist's name. You either know what I'm talking about or you don't. So that was nightmare. Very nice.
Yes. Well, on our other podcast, we already covered this little lady, but I'm gonna talk about another person that had the abilities that Max, well, telekinesis. Anyway, a real person. Yeah, so her name was Nina kulagina. Kulagina. Kulagina
Sounds good to me. Yeah, sure.
She was born in 1926 Russia. She when she was 14, she joined the Red Army and she entered its tank regiment during World War Two. By the time, like she kind of got to be known for her abilities, she was a housewife. So she she had been in the war in the Red Army, and now she's a
housewife. Then during during the Cold War, there were some silent black and white films that were produced where it showed her to be it appeared that she was moving objects on this table that was in front of her, without touching anything her, just doing it with her
mind. It says that these films were like allegedly made under controlled conditions for Soviet authorities and caused excitement for many psychic researchers around the world, some believed that they were representing like clear evidence that there is existence of psychic phenomenon. But of course, they're, they're the haters too, you know, fake. There was one test they did with her from, I think it's Larry, kettle camp, kettle camp, kettle
camp. And there was a film of her separating broken eggs in water. So she was like separating the whites, the white, the yolk, from the whites. Okay, with her mind. During during this there were like physical changes that happened too, like heartbeat, brain waves, electromagnetic field. They to ensure that, like the external, dramatic. You want
to try that again? Yeah, yeah, thanks
to ensure that the external Electromatic
Third time's a charm, come on. You got it to
ensure that the external electromagnetic impulses did not interfere. She was placed inside a metal cage, and while she was supposedly demonstrating an ability to remove a marked a marked matchstick from a whole pile of matchsticks under a glass dome, damn, yeah, that's excessive, right? She claimed that she first noticed that she had this ability when things just kind of spontaneously would move around her when she was angry, and she thinks she felt that she inherited it from her
mother. Doesn't say why, but she got it from her mama, yeah, and she said, like, in order to for it to for her to be able to do these things, she kind of required a period of meditation, first, where she had to, like, clear her mind and thoughts, which makes sense. And then once she was focused, she reported that, like when she was doing it, she had a sharp pain in her spine, and like, her eyesight would get blurry. And she also that's
what was happening when Sam would have his visions and show his eyesight get blurry, and then I'd like, go white, that's right.
And storms apparently interfered with her ability to like, they would be, like, thrown off when storms happened, which makes sense, if it's like electromagnetic, yeah, okay. Another experiment she did at linen grad, linen grad laboratory in the 70s was where she was, uh, moving in that in at inanimate, inanimate, and is that it? Yeah, inanimate, inanimate, like a non animated object, yeah, inanimate objects.
Scientists were curious to see if she had abilities to like, where she could extend to like, cells, tissues, organs. Ooh, I was like, like, make
your butthole clinch. Like, well, that was, I
was like, what would be the purpose of that? I don't, I could think of some purposes. Anyway, one of the scientists that was present, he saw her attempt to use her energy to this was another test to stop the beating heart of a frog floating in this solution. Why they gotta keep messing with frogs? Leave them alone. They're so cute. He said that she focused so intently on the heart, and apparently it made it beat faster than slower, and using extreme intent of her thought she really did stop it.
Ooh, so did she kill the frog? Doesn't
say, I hope not. Hope she got it beaten again anyway. And like I said, there are some people who like straight up, didn't believe her. Said it was all a hoax or whatever. But I like this one guy. He's a science. Writer Martin Gardner said he described her as being a pretty plump, dark eyed, little charlatan. Oh,
he did
not like her, but yeah, so she so for, I think she was in, like, academic, scientific research with the USSR for like, the last 20 years of her life, doing that kind of stuff. That's crazy, yeah. And she died in april of 1990 at 63 so
nice. So that's the lore. That's the real world, real life, from what we think was probably inspired, which we actually la already brought this up. We actually did something like this on our other podcast. The tipsy exchange for Stranger Things inspired by is the name of the episodes, and it's in our
second season. So if you want to learn more about Nina kulagina and the MK Ultra project, isn't that what it was called La that was inspired by Nina kulagina, go check out those episodes, because there's actually some pretty fucked up things that happened, interesting, yes, to say the least. So close out this episode. I've got a quote from Mr. Dean Winchester, when he was talking to Sam, trying to tell him, you know, our family's not cursed. So he said, our family's not cursed. We just have our
dark spots. Yeah,
you know, cheers, cheers.
