Berly

Welcome to denim wrapped nightmares tipsy exchange Podcast where we explore the supernatural series episode by episode.

LA

over drinks, we'll discuss the lore of gore and what we adore about the Winchesters and their adventures.

Berly

I'm burly, and I'm a new fan of the series.

LA

I'm LA and I'm here along for the ride now let's get to

Berly

La Hello murli All right before we dig into the finale, because Damn these past you,

LA

I feel like I should watch it again because I was taking so many notes I'm sure I missed you. Were

Berly

you were you were writing I feel like the entire time. Yeah, okay, but last episode, Dean and Bobby had to lock Sam in Bobby's panic room so he could detox from the demon blood. However, as more and more seals get broken, Bobby and Dean start kind of debating whether or not keeping Sam locked up is the right thing to do. When they have this impending apocalypse

on their hands. Dean disagrees, goes to Casio for work for help and ends up like pledging his allegiance to the angels without having any idea as to what they want him to do. In the meantime, with the help of the angels, Sam escapes and goes to find Ruby, where he gets more demon blood. Dean Find Sam and they have a major confrontation, which does not end well. And that's essentially where the episode ended.

LA

I'm just gonna preface this that my stomach is growling so bad. So I hope it doesn't. I hope you can't hear the recording.

Berly

I hope we can.

LA

Okay,

Berly

it'll add to the tension of the episode.

LA

So season finale, it is called Lucifer rising, which I was like, Oh, we started the season with Lazarus rising, ending with Lucifer rising.

Berly

up again. Yeah,

LA

it was the 22nd episode. It aired on May 14 2009. So we start out we are in 1972 at St. Mary's convent and Maryland, Maryland. Anyway, and we see that there is a priest, he's giving a sermon or something. Like he's like, blah, blah, blah. Because I don't think that's correct.

Berly

Well, when it first saw started, we saw him like setting everything up and he got possessed. Oh, that's right. I forgot about that. Yeah, like reason I remembered is because I was so confident and be like, Oh, it's Lola. I was so confident that I knew exactly what was going on. And I was wrong. Yep. I was not correct.

LA

Well, he's somebody. Yeah. But yeah, he's so he gets possessed, then he's doing a sermon and inserting blah, blah, blah. And the sermon, which I thought was funny, he starts talking about how he's been looking for his father. He feels like he's been in a desert looking for him for years. And as he's as he's saying, This he's walking toward the doors, he locks the doors, so you know, shits about to go down. He continues talking about his father and he says that his daddy was once an angel to, you

know, keep that in mind. And then he is back up at the pulpit or whatever. And I forget what he says, But he blinks and his eyes turn yellow. So we know it's his AITSL Yeah, and he picks up a knife. And I think he tells the nuns like, if you know if you're gonna pray might be a good time to start now. And then, you know, like, he just goes and slaughters them. It doesn't show it but we know that's what happened.

Berly

was quite the intro. It really well. Yeah, it's poor. No.

LA

Well, no, I could go on about that. But nevermind. So next up, we see Sam and Ruby there at some weird old house and like a field. She actually is like, Hey, Sam, you know, that wasn't right. What Dean said he had no right to say it. But I was surprised by this. Sam was like, No, he was right to say it. Like he's, he's right. And he mentioned that he can feel that Dean was right, he's changed like, he's not the same like you can feel it inside him.

And that he thinks, you know, Dean's better off being as far away from him as possible. So once again, they're just always constantly secretly protecting each other from each other.

Berly

Says that drooling which over which one? Sam over evil sound my words. Just your words. Yeah.

LA

All right. Then we're back at Bobby's, and Dean is thinking it's too late. And Sam you know, Sam Nugent never really wanted to be a part of this family. He never wanted to go into this. I mean, that's, you know, he made his choice. This is this is it. It's over. And Bobby is not having it.

Berly

I see Bobby episode two.

LA

I was surprised. I was like, I could tell he was getting pissed. Like you said he was breathing really heavy. Yeah. And he was getting pissed. Paul Dean was saying all this bullshit, literally, like he just does a drama move and throws everything off his desk.

Berly

Who are you an angel, Bobby?

LA

And he's like, I'm I'm tired of hearing this bullshit. He's like, Don't you know that family is supposed to make you miserable, which I thought was hilarious. Then he tells them he sounds like his dad sounds like a coward. Yeah, he did not like. And he says that John was one that pushed Sam away did exactly what you did. And he was too much of a coward to go and go and tell them you know, he did love them and wants them around. So he's trying to encourage him like, don't make the same

mistake your dad did. You need to call him?

Berly

He said, You're a better man there Dad. Yes. So quit trying to be like him.

LA

So this was a transition. Oh, cool. Trent. Like he's after Bobby tells him all this. He turns around and looks at Bobby's window. And then as he turns back around to what we think is gonna be Bobby. He actually is in a completely different room. It was so alone. Yeah. Which I thought was a church at first because it had paint like the white and the paintings, religious paintings and look like, but it more so looked like just like a room in a museum. Yeah, you know, I loved

Berly

so they Dean's looking out Bobby's window. He turns around, they pan around. And you see they're in this big white room. And as they pull back, suddenly, we're looking over Castile shoulder. That's right. Yeah. It was just the transition. I would love to know how they did that. Was that on a handheld? Was that just one shot? Was that edited together? was really well done?

LA

I can't remember what they talked about. But Zachariah shows up. And that's right. Yeah. And he just tells Sam that or he tells Dean that they're, they're just keeping him safe there. They've got a bucket of beers there for him a pile platter of burgers, and he just needs to sit in this room. Chill out and wait till it's time. And then you know, they'll come. We'll come for him. When the time's right. That's all we

know. Whatever is going on for Dean at the moment, and it switches over to Lilith chef with the baby. She's rolling the cart with a baby out that she needs to go give to Lilith,

Berly

which we learned about last episode was this chef who essentially obtains babies, yes.

LA

But Sam samen Ruby corner and something and got slammed against the wall. And they they are going to take her hostage basically, to which you were right. They want to drain her to get the strength as Sam needs to kill.

Berly

Well, the thing that came up at some point that surprised me was Ruby said something about how old like we haven't done this before. Yeah, I was like, Oh, shit. They've been draining demon's blood before. Like, I assumed he's just been taking a little bit from Ruby here and there. Yikes.

LA

Well, I wonder if him like detoxing a little bit, made him kind of be himself again and get a little bit of a conscience again, maybe, you know,

Berly

maybe, but like, she was just like, like, we haven't done this before. And I was like, Yeah, God. So how many people and then the other thing that came up at one point, which if I'm getting ahead of head of you, let me know. The other thing that came up at one point was Ruby made a comment about how like, when you're when you're slashing a demon with the knife, there's a person in there, and that hasn't bothered

you yet. I could have sworn that back in like season three, that they were making the comment about how like the demons ride their vessels hard and that they're probably dead already. And so we just weren't supposed to care about that. But now they're saying like, no, for a lot of these demons. There's still people in there and y'all are just stabbing them and killing them. No problem. Something Holy shit. How many people have they just straight up killed? Because we found out

the dental hygienist. She She's Oh, yeah, we see her again. No. So how many times have they killed the person in order to kill the demon? And how many times has it been the person was already dead? And the demon was just using their body still?

LA

Yeah. Who knows? me a lot. Could be a few. Wait, oh, no, no, no. But suddenly Sam has a conscious conscience again about it. Yeah, I don't know where so he's apparently been killing people and drinking them this whole time. It's in game time. And he's, he's like, oh, you know what? I'm a little worried about it again. I don't want to do it now. Yeah. Yeah. Not comfortable with it. Even though I've done a bunch apparently. Oh, me who? Were back in the room with Dean Zachariah and

Castro better nowhere. And what is he he says something about what is Suite Life of Zack and Cass and they don't get his joke.

Berly

There were some Star Star Trek jokes in the past episodes to which I'm like, thank you. Yeah, I appreciate it. I

LA

meant to write the one down that Ruby said I forgot.

Berly

There was I heard something about a Vulcan something about the holodeck, like plenty of Star Wars or Star Wars Star Trek jokes. Yeah, good stuff, good stuff.

LA

They inform Diem that there's only one seal left at this point, which is crazy. This final seal is going To be different because it has to be broken by Lilith. They are going to need Dean when the time comes and Dean's getting a little argumentative and Zachariah reminds him You swore obedience. So be obedient. If we go back and forth a bunch in this one too, so I feel like I'm like bouncing around. But it's really the way it was the way the

episode is. So because now, now we're in I don't know where we are. But Sam has the the chef lady nurse tied up and He's torturing her because they want to find out where well I guess we were both right. They want to find they want her to lead them to Lilith and they're gonna drain her. Yeah. Two birds one stone. We were both right. Look at that. Yeah. And then we're back with Dean. He actually gets his phone out and calls like Bobby wanted him to. It's a sweet message. He tells him he's

not dead. You know, they are family. And he apologizes for what he said he didn't mean it. He shouldn't have said it. Then we're back with Chef Sam and Ruby. Yeah. And she is tired of the torture and she's like, just kill me Just kill me. He does it again. But then she tells him not tomorrow and I midnight at the convent. That's where this final seal is gonna be broken. And Ruby is like, we got to take this bitch with her with us. You know, we need that blood. We all

drink that bit. And the chef, Chef nurse. She is like, okay, all right. Yeah, take me take me with you. But I'm just gonna take a little siesta. And she like calls on the whoever body she's like inhabiting, and she's like it just like snaps and it's the nurse whoever she is inhabiting, which I was like, that's interesting. I haven't seen them really do that.

Berly

Give power back to the vessel. So yeah. And it was sad to the actress did well, yes. Switching between the two personas also.

LA

Then we're back with a priest and we see that the nuns are scattered everywhere. Yeah, back in somebody's back in 72. He is praying to His Father asking for him. You know, he's done what you want me to do? Where are you at, bro? One of the dead nurses start speaking and it's his daddy talking to him.

Berly

All these daddy issues to say iZl. Dean sounds Joe. It's a lot.

LA

It is

Berly

crypkey Who hurt you?

LA

His daddy tells him that he needs to find Lola and that he needs to find a child a special child.

Berly

I assume the rest of that conversation was like, hey, gotta find a special child. You know what? Find like 10 feed them your blood. And then wait 20 years

LA

long. A long game plan game. Yeah.

Berly

But if you're immortal, is it long? True? Yeah. 20 years probably isn't that long. If you're immortal. Yeah.

LA

Good point. Well, then we're back with salmon Rui. And Sam has found an article on this situation where this priest killed all these nuns.

Berly

This is the convent that the chef nurse mentioned.

LA

And he once again he's He's like, he's not sure about taking this particular demon chef, Nurse lady. And he's like, go find another demon. Yeah, just find another one. Which is so weird. Like, what's, what's the difference? And that's a Yeah, that's when we mentioned that they've done it before. Yeah. Then we see Dean and the fancy little room and he is just just for shits and giggles pushes a little angel statue over to break off the table.

Berly

He's got to get his anger out somehow. Yeah, but he's being held hostage by these Angel angels. Yeah. So he's gonna go destroy all the angel art.

LA

Well, Cass shows up again. And Dean wants him to take him to Sam. And Cass is like, not a good idea. You know, not gonna happen. And Dean's like, well, what's stopping me like, why? I can't go anywhere. I'm trapped here. Casas, like No, you go wherever you want. Just not to say Dana's like what would watch me and he like, goes toward the door, but then it just disappears.

Berly

He's like, I'm gonna leave and Cass's. Like through what door. And then it goes away.

LA

We're back with Sam again being conflicted about killing this demon. Ruby. As you can tell Ruby, this is where I feel like Ruby started to break a little. She's like, I mean, we're gonna follow through this right? We're gonna go through with our plan because she's a little concerned with Sam changing his mind to Galaga in

Berly

hindsight, you can see that she's like, egging him on trying to get him there.

LA

Sounds like no, we're gonna do we're gonna do it. Back with Dean. He's trying. He's trying to beat down a door with one of the statues or through the wall. No, there's no door anymore. Zacharias shows up this time. And he told me he told him again. You can't see Sam. And it's not little if that you're going to be stopping. Lulu is going to break the seal. We like they want her to do this. And they never wanted to stop Sam. Like this. This is all gonna play out. They wanted it this

way the whole time. In the end, when it happens, the angels win. It's gonna be paradise on earth. And it's like, you know, just a little side note people are gonna die but you know It's not the first planetary enema. He says, Yeah, I was like, Wow, that's nice.

Berly

saccharine is like the ends justify the means is what I'm getting at. And I love Kurt Fuller's performance of it just very Oh yeah, nonchalant nonchalant about the whole thing. Like, just It's fine. It's fine, bro. Like, it's cool. Just calm down. Chill out. Have a burger. Have a beer.

LA

Yeah. What happened? And he always says Sam obviously has his part to play even if he needs a little nudging to get there. And Dean still has a vital part. They just love some details out.

Berly

Yeah. Need to tell him everything.

LA

It's not a big deal, bro. Yeah, the real plan they can tell him now is that Dean's job is to stop Lucifer. Not Lilith. Dean's pissed, obviously. And he's he says, you know, where's God and all this? And Zechariah says, God, God left the building. Just like Elvis.

Berly

You checked out? Yeah.

LA

Then we're back at the the convent but present day not 1972 and Lilith is there. There's a security guard looking around. She shows up behind him

Berly

is the dental hygienist again, by the way? Yes. Yes. So let's really liked that vessel she did after Sam decided okay, I'm not gonna have sex with you. And they just left her unconscious body on the floor. And that one episode? Yeah. I guess Lilith went back and got her or did she become conscious and try to go back to work and try to resume her normal life and then Lilith was just like, I liked this one. So I'm gonna go. Who knows? Like, I'm just gonna go take her again. Poor dental

hygienist. All these people that she didn't get laid? And she got possessed again.

LA

That's a rough life. Yeah, she kills a security guard.

Berly

I liked her dress though.

LA

She does look for Yeah, fabulous. Fabulous. She

Berly

dressed up for the occasion. She

LA

did all white of course. Uh huh.

Berly

It's our wedding day.

LA

Oh, back with Dean. He's on a cell phone trying to call Sam again. On cast tells him Kessler, Oregon. And he's like, Dude, you're out. You can't No calls are happening and where you're at right now. You're out of rain. Yeah. And he wants to say sorry. Dean tells him he needs a bigger word than sorry, bro. And Dean dean. And it sounds like a coin machine when he punches them. And he like he punches him in like pretty much twirls around and then is it like just so much pain with his hand

Berly

whereas Casio whenever he got punched, just basically looked to the side. Yeah, it was looked back like it was nothing. It didn't affect Casio at all. And Dean just turned around and was like clearly trying to hold back her saying like it clearly hurt him so badly. Yeah. And we come back in this scene to Cassiel trying to not look at Diem. Oh, yes. And I loved that Dean forced him to because that's been ongoing throughout

the season. You know, once Casio started getting checked for getting too close, you know, Urial would keep Dean from looking at Cass Cass wouldn't face Dean like, I was happy that that kind of came into play here. Yeah. Dean was like, no leaned over to get into his eyesight and be like, Look at me. Look at me. Oh.

LA

And so Cass proceeds to tell him that you know why? What's the problem? All he sees in this on this earth is pain. What is there to save? You know, once this is all over dean will be at peace after Dean says no, that's not what he wants. He doesn't want to be a Stepford bitch and Paradise. And that he'll take the pain and he'll take Sam as is he doesn't care. Like he'd rather have that he doesn't want your paradise and all the shit that comes with it.

Berly

He said, You can take your paradise and stick it up your lily white ass he did.

LA

And he tells cast that he knew he was going to warn him before he went to Bible. He was dragged back to bible camp. He says yeah, so yeah, he wants he's expecting cast to help him in the end, like, get him out of here. Like, help me do what I need to do. And Cass is like I can't can't do it. And Dean is like, we're done. Dramatically. Oh, yes. Yeah. Well, he walks off in good.

Berly

Done back turn to him.

LA

We're back with Ruby and Sam. And you can tell she's getting impatient with them. Which I don't know why we didn't. How did we not notice?

Berly

I'm still upset that my theory didn't pan out.

LA

I know. I kept waiting for that to happen.

Berly

I did too. I kept waiting for it to be revealed that this was the same demon who had Meg and that she's been the one all along since Season Two trying to get them to this point. It made so much sense in my brain. I know. But not the case.

LA

But it wasn't good theory. I thought I like I said I was like okay, any anytime. I was

Berly

like thinking 100% as things were going on, like any minute now any minute, especially when she was making her speech. I really thought it was gonna get revealed. I was like ready to jump up and be like, I do it. And it just never happened.

LA

I mean, you were kind of On the nose a little about it just a little bit.

Berly

Yeah, I was wrong that like, I thought that it was the same demon who has been working with Azazel this whole time and turns out this was just a different team and who had like its own side mission, but Sam does finally agree. Yeah, go kill the chef nurse. Yeah, he's

LA

like stopped. Well, he's stalling and rubbish, getting impatient. But then he flips his phone open and listens to his voicemail. Yeah. Which is crazy, because I was like, Oh, here we go. It's gonna be a sweet moment. He's gonna hear that sweet voicemail from Dean. But no, those motherfuckers I still don't get it. Yeah,

Berly

that's my whole thing. Was it because Ruby's smirking. Yeah. So it makes you think, even if she didn't do it, she knew. But who actually did it? Because at this point, everybody, the angels and the demons are pushing for this to happen. So who changed the voicemail? Because Dean didn't say any of that awful stuff that was on the voicemail, right?

LA

He's like, you monster I should have. I should know. I mean, it was horrible.

Berly

Dad always told me I have to kill you. Yeah, it was terrible.

LA

And so I was so disappointing. So I was like, Oh, we're gonna have a cute little moment here. But no, that gives him the motivation he needed. And he tells Ruby. All right, go do it. Do it. Go get the bit out of the trunk. Let's do this.

Berly

I still want to know how many bit how many times I don't think I want to know, right? This response. We kind of called it we kind of did, where we were saying that it was. I mean, it's not a blood sacrifice. But I mean, kind of is. Yeah. And if this is what he's been doing all along.

LA

So disappointed. Oh, I'm sorry. Anyway, back with Dean. And he finally goes to the platter of burgers, which they're probably cold by now. But maybe not since the angels are there angelic burgers? Yeah. He goes to pick one up and you're he's about to take a bite. And cast comes out of nowhere, slams them up against the wall. covers his mouth. Oh, yeah. Like dead eye, eye contact straight. And DOM Dom Just staring at him. You could see he's got a knife in his other hand, but it's lower as it out.

And But Dean, he whips it out. And then that little nod. Yeah. But yeah, he they're looking at eye contact. And Dean just nods his head a little bit like that. I know. I got it.

Berly

Give it to me. Yeah. It was Hi.

LA

I was not expecting this. But Castiel cuts his arm and then gets the blood on his other hand, and starts drawing that symbol we saw it was the last episode. And so

Berly

you've seen it a couple of times now because Anna Anna did it too. Oh, yeah.

LA

He's painting it on the wall. Zachariah shows up and he's like, Dude, what the what the hell are you doing? What's going on here? He finishes his drawing, puts his hand on it and blast Zachariah out of there.

Berly

It was very dramatic. It was it was great. It was wonderful. Yeah.

LA

I love

Berly

these Buchan angels. I love them so much. The drama drama of it.

LA

Then we're back at the convent. And Lilith is she's there. We know she's the final seal. Some guys bringing her a little bowl of blood. There's a the hallway behind her is lined with demons. And she's like, Don't be afraid. You're gonna save the world.

Berly

Yeah, it'll be fabulous. That'd be great.

LA

And she kind of turns around after he gives her the blood. And we see Sam and Ruby at the end of the hall.

Berly

We hear like this. Oh, that's kind of whoosh noise. Not the angel flap. Whoosh. It's a different kind of sound. Right? And that's what makes her turn around. Yeah. And everybody who was lined up in the hall is dead. Yeah. Sam killed them

LA

all as we're showing up. Yeah. Well, he's right.

Berly

He drank all pumped. pumped. He drank all of he drank up all of Chef nurse, Chef nurses all in his system. And so he was able to just boom, no, we shouldn't really what those lesser demons should learn that nurses name I apologize. Chef nurse.

LA

Yeah. And then out of nowhere, we see Chuck. We're back with Chuck. Oh, sweet. Hey, what's this? I was not expecting either. Like a phone sex like Do you think he's like, Okay, I'll take the 20 girls. What are you gonna do with 20 Girls? So

Berly

he's one of them all at his house? Yeah, he got one pain. What are you gonna do? Yeah, that's like,

LA

whoa, Zachary. Didn't Zachary make some gross common? He was like two virgins and 70 slides? Yeah. To Dean at one point.

Berly

He also was like, I'll give you ginger from Gilligan's Island. Marianne is a bonus.

LA

Yeah, it was awful.

Berly

Anyway, but yeah, check was like I don't even remember what he was talking about. But he was like, that sounds moist. We I couldn't be now done without all of that, Chuck. Yeah, put on your robe and your boxers again and just sprawl out. Just be sweet. Yes. Ah,

LA

well Cass indeed show up. Yeah. Which I've been there saying that and turn around. They were there. I'd be like, Oh, that's embarrassing.

Berly

He was like, this isn't supposed to happen. The girl the phone was like, but and he was like, no, no, like, This part's gonna happen this I still want to make this purchase, please. But I'm just gonna have to call you back because there's some other shit going on.

LA

I can't remember what else happens in that scene as

Berly

well. They went to chuck to be like, Okay, tell us what's supposed to happen where Sam? Oh, that's what it was. So Chuck told them where Sam was he told them the convent and all of that and he just kept being like, but this part is not supposed to happen. You're not part of this story. And that's when Castile said we're making it up as we go. And they refocus to show Dean just like staring at casts. What was that shot about? Love? Yeah, I think so. Lust, not shippers, but no, I'm just

saying there's love there. What was that? Yeah, yeah, there's something there. I don't know what it is. But the way Dean was staring at Cass whenever he said we're making it up as we go. It was like almost admiration to like, he was like, oh, yeah, I don't know why, what that line did to Dean it did something.

LA

I feel like there's a lot of non romantic love in this Oh, so

Berly

much between a lot of the characters. And depending on your personal experiences and perspective. Maybe you view it as romantic. Go for it. That's the wonderful thing about fictional characters and fictional stories is that you can kind of implant on it what you want, and everybody can see it differently. And I love that. Yeah. But yeah, there was definitely a moment when cast said that. And then the house started shaking arcade and yet again, we don't get to completion with the archangel.

LA

No, he's like, go I'll hold them off for as long as I can. Yeah,

Berly

but that was a really cool transition again. Yeah. As Cassiel put his hand on Dean's head, and suddenly Dean was at the convent. But I want to say this Archangel heart ready. We keep getting these like, vibrational lights going crazy things going insane. Like I want to bring me to completion. I would like to see Archangel please.

LA

Do you think it's going to be Jon Hamm because of

Berly

good omen. Okay,

LA

clearly, Dean is at the convent. Now. He looks down the hallway and sees Ruby she sees him and she shuts the doors on them unlock some. Yeah,

Berly

that face she made as she did it, too.

LA

Oh, yeah. She's smiling. And she's she's like, oh, yeah, you're Shut up. Sorry. Sam is in the process of killing Lilith. As he's doing it. He can hear Dean through the doorway and he's yelling his name. Ruby. It's kind of like slow motion. You can't hear really what she's saying. But you can tell she's flipping out. She's looking toward the door looking at him like a little. It's like, she's like, You need to complete this job. Yeah.

Berly

She's like trying to get in his line of sight and distract him from hearing Dean and felt like,

LA

but he does stop because he hears Dean and that but then Lillith kind of goads him as like, you know, you turned yourself into this freak monster and you're not gonna bite. Yeah, that's all it took for him. So he his little eyes turned black.

Berly

I could not believe that. He

LA

kills Lilith and Ruby is so excited. She says you did it. You open the door and he is free at last.

Berly

Well, like blood was coming out a little nothing. Moving as if it had a mind of its own causing the circle and Sam was really confused was like what the fuck is happening? And that's when Ruby like went into her little monologue. I have to say, Genevieve paddle lucky. I thoroughly enjoyed her performance of this scene. Oh, yeah. It was good. She She did well. very cocky, conceited. I'm the best. No one knew. It was really good. She's very proud of her. Yeah, very proud.

LA

I mean, kind of kudos. You pulled it off. You really? I mean, Dean was right. The whole time. Yep. She was just stringing little Sammy along manipulating the hell out of him. Uh huh. So when Sam realizes like, Oh, okay. Like Dean was right. You just totally laid me like me. Yeah. He tries to exercise her but he's spent. She's like, you shot your shot. Your shot shot your load? Load? Yeah, with Lilith telling her which makes sense. She's like you did everything right. You

did everything. i Every chance. I needed you to do something. You did it. And you did it. Right. Poor Sam.

Berly

Yeah. When she was like pointing out like, I just gave you the options and you made the right choice every time like, oh,

LA

that fucking sucks. And she was like, it was always you. It was always going to be the one you were the one to do it. And at this point, Dean finally bust through the doors, which I kind of love this. And I didn't expect it. I was like, Oh, the anger in his eyes when he saw her.

Berly

He was on a mission. Oh, it was I thought and but

LA

I mean, he had that knife raise ready to stab her. And I thought there was gonna be a fight but then I saw that Sam like, stood up and held her because he so he could keep her tight for Dean to do the job.

Berly

Yeah, she tried to be like You're too late. And he's like, I don't fucking care. Yeah. Oh, loved it. It was really good. It's pretty charged and in that door. Oh.

LA

Then Then we hear some sort of noise rustling something. This the circle of Willis blood. A light starts just like coming up out of it. Dean looks at Sam and he's like, Hey, let's let's get out of here. And he's kind of grabbing Sam. But Sam says he doesn't say no. But he's he just is staring at the light. And he's like he's coming. And it ends.

Berly

I did not expect it to end when it did not either. I thought we had at least another 15 minutes. Right. So it was just like, ended it just like went to credit. So I was like, What the fuck? Yeah.

LA

So I'm like, cliffhanger man was like Sam was a little excited.

Berly

I don't know if he was excited. Or if he was just like, it's happening. It's happening. You fail. What are we going to do? Where are we going to run? Where are we going to go?

LA

True. Now?

Berly

You know? It's fucking Lucifer coming up out of his cage.

LA

Also, Dean. That's your job. Right? Why are you trying to try to get out of there? Get out of the job.

Berly

Aren't you supposed to take care of the steam? Yeah. It was good. Yeah, it was good. It was written by Eric crebbp. and directed by Eric Gretzky.

LA

And you said this is his This was his last season. We have one

Berly

more one more. Yeah. Or not? One more season? Oh, yeah. Okay. crypkey was the show runner for the first five seasons. Okay. Whew, it was a good one. It was a doozy. Like you said there was a lot of bouncing around. But just like the whole episode, I just felt like I was getting more and more amped up. And now I'm just like,

LA

Oh,

Berly

I'm finished. Oh, all right. So core London or the nuns I guess and what a vulgarity in this episode.

LA

Like, oh, yeah, the the words a little I don't know. Yeah, I could have done without that wasn't the

Berly

glorious of the episodes that we've had though. We're we haven't had a blood splurge and quite a while, actually. But yeah, so not not gory. Anything you adored this episode? Oh, much. I adored the trans the transitions, which I kind of already talked about the transitions from Bobby's into the White Room and the transition from the White Room to checks and the transition from checks to the convent. Convent. I loved all of that stuff. Yeah.

LA

I kind of liked Ruby and Cass they've been playing this this the same way this whole time. And then they both like switched. I kind of liked how that happened. how that played out.

Berly

Ruby didn't so much switch. She's been faithful and loyal the whole time.

LA

Well, I mean, from what we knew, like, right, we're thinking that she was like Sam this whole time, not

Berly

Lucifer, Lucifer. But it turns out she was helping Lucifer casts on the other hand, has been trying to help the angels and has been we know, having doubts. And I think he finally made the switch from he's not being loyal to the angels anymore. He's trying to help Dean. So I enjoyed that. I yeah, all the little relationship things between Sam and Ruby and Dean and Cass and a tied up a bunch of stuff. I mean, we know that Dean is supposed to stop Lucifer, we finally know what these angels

are expecting him to do. I still don't understand how a mortal is supposed to stop up. Top of Lucifer, and we'll find out so that remains to be seen. How is he supposed to stop Lucifer? What the hell? And then I was happy. We got a little bit more of Kurt Fuller, but I have to say, this season. I feel like they could have utilized the angels a little bit more. I'm an angel fan. I enjoy the angels but like with even with Robert wisdom, I would have liked to have seen Uriel, the villain for

like one more episode. Yeah, like the same episode we got him revealed as being a bad guy. He got killed. And Zachariah. He's been what three episodes? Maybe a total of five minutes across all of the episodes, but maybe we're building up to it. Yeah, maybe next season. I'll get some more. Anything else you adored.

LA

I adored the nuts and muscling through that door. Kellan Ruby. How he did that.

Berly

That was real nice. There was a lot of a lot of good stuff to appreciate. And this episode for sure. Alright, so lore. Since next season, we'll have plenty of opportunities to talk about Lucifer. I decided to focus on the convent featured in today's episode. Oh, it's a real one. Apparently. According to to ancient origins.net Hell House College is the nickname given to St. Mary's College in Ilchester, Maryland. The college is also sometimes referred to as, quote,

creepy College. This college was originally set up as a Roman Catholic seminary during the 19th century, and was closed about a century later. This college gained its nickname as a result of the numerous legends and rumors surrounding the institution, which include stories of satanic worship and

ghosts. In 1830, the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad was opened and George Ellicott Jr, whose father Andrew Ellicott, was one of the founders of Ellicott Mills later renamed Ellicott City decided to turn his homestead in Ilchester into a hotel and tavern. The entrepreneur had thought that the trains would stop at Ilchester, and that passengers would patronize his establishment. However, Ellicott Mills was chosen as the main stop in that area, which meant that very few people came to

Chester. The Enterprise failed, shocking, and Ellicott decided to sell his property, the businessman struggled for several years to find a buyer for his land. Eventually, it was bought over in 1866 by the congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, a Roman Catholic missionary congregation, better known as the ridet tourists, who intended to turn the property

into a seminary. The first community at the college is recorded to have had a total of 29 people, including three priests, who made up the entire teaching staff, and 19 students. According to one source at its height, the college had had as many as 100 to 150 students at one time, the college continued to be operated by the Redemptorists into the first

half of the 20th century. The number of students however, gradually decreased over time, and in the end, the college was forced to close its doors in 1972. Now the rumors for its closing. Whilst it was the dwindling number of students that resulted in the closure of a college. By the late 1980s. Rumors about the real reason for the closing down of the college began to spread. One of these, for instance, is that an insane priest had slaughtered several

female students. This rumor may have spread due to some confusion with the Patapsco female Institute. The endings of the story varies from one version to the other. One, for instance, claims that when the priest was caught, he managed to escape while the nuns became possessed by demonic forces, and murdered everyone in the college. And another version, the nuns were found hanged with a pentagram drawn in blood on the floor below, and the priest dead from a self inflicted

gunshot wound. It may be noted that St. Mary's College was a seminary for men and not a nunnery. Nevertheless, such tales as well as many others were circulating and resulted in St. Mary's College being nicknamed Hal house College. While the college closed in 1972. It remained in the hands of the Redemptorists I hope I'm pronouncing that right. Eventually, part of the property was sold to the state of Maryland in 1987. The rest of the property was sold to private interests. Little has remained

of the seminary today. Wow. That's all I got for Laura today.

LA
