Berly

Welcome to denim wrapped nightmares tipsy exchange Podcast where we explore the supernatural series episode by episode.

LA

over drinks, we'll discuss the lore of gore and what we adore about the Winchesters and their adventures.

Berly

I'm burly, and I'm a new fan of the series. I'm

LA

LA, and I'm here along for the ride. Now, let's get tipsy. Hello, la. Hello, Beverly.

Berly

First and foremost, we owe our listeners an apology. Oh, yes. And the episode the end, we missed out on a vital important plot point, which was pointed out to us by our good friend Theresa from three essay photography. Hey, girl.

LA

Hey,

Berly

we forgot to talk about Dean's thigh holster. Now I will say I noticed the big belt buckle at one point. And then something else happened and I got distracted and I forgot about it. And we all know how well I take notes. So I

LA

feel like I noticed it when he was coming in and right before he shot that guy but then I think I was so like, caught off guard by that. I just forgot about it. Yeah,

Berly

she she called me on it. She was like if it was Richard Speight Jr. He would have said something. I know I was like, girl.

Unknown

I like it, but true.

Berly

So thank you for the holster to show us like the radius. Sometimes his pants are a little loose. Yeah, that's true. important plot point. It was good. That was the episode before our last episode. So let's fast forward to our last episode.

LA

Well, that one was fallen idols, Sam and Dean decided to start hunting together again. And the first case they took on they went to a small town whose inhabitants were being killed by famous dead icons like Abraham Lincoln and James Dean's car. But after two teenage girls came forward and claimed their friend was kidnapped by Paris Hilton in a fabulous cameo by her. The brothers aren't sure what they're hunting anymore.

Berly

Here's I actually have a question about that. Like, it wasn't a ghost. Right? It was Leshy. Like this deity. But all the victims blew cold, got cold and had the what I thought about that, too. Yeah, that was never explained. Yeah. And it wasn't really addressed. You know what the law was really long. And I will admit, I didn't read every single thing. Oh, well, maybe the word like yeah, maybe the law is like Forest Scott chili. Makes you cold? Yeah. Oh, wow.

Today's episode is titled, I believe the children are our future. Teach them well, and show them something to anyway, it's the sixth episode of season five. And it originally aired on October 15 2009. We open up in alliance Nebraska. We see a young woman, young lady named Amber watching TV and brushing her hair while babysitting. Because everyone knows if you're going to be away from the house for a few hours, you better fucking bring your hairbrush.

LA

She was sitting way too close to the TV to shame

Berly

shame. You're gonna go blind and lose your hair. She hears a strange noise and goes to investigate and finds Jimmy the kid that she's babysitting hidden in the closet with like, one of those headband things on it makes it look like an arrow has gone through your head. And he's put ketchup all over himself. I mean, he went through a lot of effort. Yeah, it was. At first I was like, oh, Jimmy. You a little mischievous rascal.

But then she was like, it's bedtime go to bed and he was like, I'll go to bed if you'd let me touch your ticket. And I was like, oh, yeah, okay, not okay. Not not. It's not a fan. Now. Jimmy. He does it he goes to bed.

LA

He does it. Anyway, after all he does.

Berly

He goes Hong Kong and runs up the stairs. No, he does not touch the boob. Amber tells him to fuck off and go upstairs and so he does. Then she goes and gets her hairbrush and sits in front of the TV again. we flash forward to the parents coming home. Seemingly Amber is asleep on the couch. The dad tells the mom Oh, you go ahead. Go upstairs. Do whatever. I'm gonna take Amber's home. And for whatever reason, he started stroking her hair to wake her up. Which I kind of know what he

did. How did he get his hands all bloody?

LA

Oh, I thought he just like kind of touched her head. Which I guess Yeah, still, uh, why

Berly

is he touching your shoulder touch your shoulder? Yeah. Or just, hey, wait, right, right. Get up, get out of here. Sleep it on the job. Maybe touches her hair. And you hear like this white noise. It's like oh, that's not Good. Then he rolls her over. And you can see, like I thought she had been scalped at

LA

first. That's yeah, yeah,

Berly

that's what it looks like mangled mess. A lot of math. A lot of flash. Yeah, a lot. A lot of red. Yeah. I didn't stare at it very much. So I can't comment on if the special effects were good or not. It was enough to make me want to look away from the TV, so it was good. Then we get supernatural mumbo jumbo. The Mirtha morgue and Sam and Dean are almost matching, but not quite. I thought they were matchy matchy twins at first, but they were not.

LA

It was just like different shades of their tie. Everything else seemed Sam's

Berly

was more red. Yeah, Dean's was more blue, I think. And they introduced themselves as agents page and plant, which I thought was the who at first, but then after I quit Google, I was embarrassed that no,

LA

no. Like I went along with it. And then when you said zipline, I was like, Oh my God. I knew.

Berly

I know. As soon as I saw it, I was like, Oh, wow, that's embarrassing. Like they're chatting about the case with the coroner. And he's, he's real fun. I liked the coroner. Yeah. He was like, didn't you get my report? I emailed it. And Sam said, Oh, we had server issues. And he was like, Well, come on, we'll go look at the body. So he pulls the body out of the morgue drawer. And they're looking at the head. And the coroner says, you know, first I thought it was a wolf or something. And he's

like, Yeah, or something. And then the coroner says, but then I pulled this out and it's a press on nail. He said it was embedded in wasn't her frontal lobe or something like that. But he said he said it was embedded in our brain essentially, I don't remember which part of the brain it was. But coroner guy is like, you know, I'm guessing it was just a phantom itch or something. You know, she's She's scratched her brains out. It

happens. People talk about itching, you see somebody scratching, and you'll just start scratching and like sometimes it can be an extreme case. And I thought it was a cute little touch that after he said that and turned around and walk away that both Sam and Dean started scratching places. And you know what, I was totally scratching somewhere at the same time. So it was really fun. Sam and Dean still think something

funky is going on. So they go to the house where Amber was babysitting to go and talk to the parents try and figure out what's going on. Sam is interviewing the parents doing the usual drill. Like okay, I'm gonna ask you some weird fucking questions, but just go with me here. While Sammy is handling the parents Dean is walking around the house seeing if he can find any clues. And he runs into that little shit Jimmy. And Jimmy is acting just as guilty as can be. Oh, yeah. Plus his

little art. He's adorable. He's just like, I didn't see nothing. I didn't know nothing strange. I'd tell you Mr. But there's nothing

LA

I wrote my notes Jimmy's a little liar.

Berly

He was so nervous to the kid did great. Yeah, he did great in this in this scene. Turns out Jimmy put itching powder on Amber's hairbrush. As they're leaving Dean, tell Sam, what happened? And Sam was just what did he say? It was like groundup walnut shells or something? Somebody said, where he was like, it doesn't fucking work. Like it's just, it's just this. It's not real. Dan was like, no, no, shall you like this is this is something that

we need to look into. So they go back to the hospital, I'm guessing to look at the body, see if there's something else they missed. And while they're there, another body is getting wheeled in. And they find out that it's a man who had been electrocuted, but they don't know what happened. Like maybe it was faulty wiring. Like, we don't know, we're still looking for the cause. And Sam and Dean are like, Well, were there any witnesses? Like adjusting their

matching ties? And they're like, yeah, there's that senile old man over there. He witnessed it. So Sam and Dean go to talk to him. And he is so upset. Yeah, he explains that he had the little hand buzzer thing that he just shook the guy's hand Joy buzzer

LA

joy. Because I like I was writing my, uh, you have a choice. I was like writing my notes. And I was like, what is it and I kept calling it a gadget. And then later on, they called it a joy buzzer

Berly

Oh, boy.

LA

Okay, Moses. Yeah.

Berly

Well, Mr. Stanley's Joy buzzer did a whole lot more than that. Bless his fucking heart, man. He just shows him the joy buzzer. I was like, I just shook his hand. So Sam and Dean are just like what is happening here? They go back to their motel and Dean tests, the joy buzzer on an uncooked him. And so he like slams his hand on to it and it vibrates and cooks essentially cooks that whole big old thing. Yeah. And they were prepared. They put on like big, big gloves and protective

goggles. That had little flip up thing that would have been fun to play with as soon as they're just like, okay, yeah, there's something going on with this toy buzz or something. Something's going on with these things. And Dane just starts going to town on that ham almost immediately. I mean, it does look it looks really good. I

LA

try I really I try not to eat pork but I was like damn.

Berly

I'm not a big pork eater either, like not even a ham like not even sandwich meat. I don't dislike it, but I'm not a fan. I'm not gonna go to town. But whenever he started cutting into it and go to town, I was like, okay they start thinking what LA and I first thought which was cursed objects. They figure out that the powder and the joy buzzer both came from the same store. So they're like, Okay, well, then we need to go to the conjurer berry yum.

LA

I like that name.

Berly

The wiki notes say the contravariant them symptom of magic and mystery. Ooh. I'd go there to buy a joy buzzer anytime that she would. They're talking with the owner and he's a little disgruntled with today's youth. Little.

LA

I wrote that he was real better.

Berly

And it came out quite easily. Like they didn't even need to press that far to get him to be like, yeah, Buck, everybody. Kids these days. Yeah. And then dean has clearly been hanging out with angels way too much because he decided to get real traumatic. He grabbed a rubber chicken and was like, Yeah, you hate everybody enough

to do something like this. And like slams a rubber chicken on the counter, and then uses the joy buzzer to electrocute it and melt it on the counter completely traumatizes the owner who's terrified me like fall back. I wouldn't be surprised to be pissed his pants. Yeah, he looked terrified. And Dean was just like, Oh, I'm sorry. My bad. So they leave in a hurry. Oh, important. plot point. Dean did buy a whoopee cushion while they were in the conjurer area. But we didn't see that. Did we?

Yes. It was the first thing he did when he walked in the door. Oh, that's right. Yeah. So we cut to a little girl getting put to bed in her house and she's precious sweetest could be and her dad is telling her about the Tooth Fairy cuz she lost her first tooth. And she is unimpressed. Not a fan. She's smart. And I liked it. Yeah. Some freak is gonna come into my bedroom at night to pull this tooth out from under my pillow. Like I don't think so. Thank you.

LA

Yeah, Stranger danger in my home.

Berly

She was super cute. So the dad is just like, No, you're fine. And goes to bed. Well, she waits until daddy's asleep, and then takes her tooth and goes and puts it under his pillow because she's like, I said, Fuck this. Fuck this nonsense. I'm not playing your game. And so she goes back to bed, sleeps peacefully, daddy tosses and turns a little bit and then he wakes up to what I thought was like a giant bearded man in a pink leotard and wings and like a beanie. And he's like, hanging

over me. He's like stew stool or something like that is exactly what

LA

I thought.

Berly

The dad is like, what the fuck? And he got these massive, like, pliers. I think they were bloggers. You're just seeing it in the shadow. But still, I clenched everything. And he starts ripping teeth out of this man's mouth. Oh,

LA

bad. Oh, no, that's a nightmare. Right?

Berly

So now we're at the hospital again, where this man has been admitted because 32 of his teeth were extracted, but he did get 32 quarters. So you know, even trade. He describes the man to Sam and Dean and Dean is just like, okay, like, so he's walked out on pain pills or something. Right? But that doesn't really make sense. Like his teeth are gone. He was clearly attacked in the night. Doors are still locked. Windows still locked like there was no

break in arm was on. Yeah. So they're just like, What the fuck? So as they're leaving Dean, he's got the old noggin working. He kind of starts putting together because he's heard while he was in the hospital, he found out that one kid's face got stuck in a funny face because he held it there for too long and somebody else that was in the hospital because they mixed Pop Rocks with coke. And he's like, this is all shit.

I believed as a kid. No, this is the kind of stuff you believe when you're a kid, the kinds of things that your parents tell you to keep you from doing certain things. And so they're thinking okay, so what are we dealing with here? Sam said, This could be the work of a trickster. And I got really excited you

LA

did and I was like, I kind of I was like, I don't think he's in this. He was not he comes back this soon and but you got real excited and I didn't want to

Berly

hit comes back this season. We get two episodes this Yeah, no,

LA

but not this too. I'm just saying it was rude. It's Foreshadowing Foreshadowing I still enjoy this

Berly

episode though. So I got over it. We cut back to the motel room, and Dean is eating a sandwich from the big ol ham. They don't have a fridge, they got to use it up. And Sam comes walking in. He has been out doing more research has figured out where each of these incidents have occurred. It's like within a two mile radius of a single location. They also figure out that the hotel is within what Dean called, like the blast zone. And then dean reveals that he has now grown

hair on his palm. That was fun, was it? He was like, I'm sorry, the nurse at the hospital was really hot, and I got bored. And then he ate a sandwich. But here's the thing like he purposely waited until Sam got back to take care of that. Take care of what the hair on his palm. Oh, yeah. Because after he showed Sam, what happened, he went and shaved it to take care of it. He could have done that before. True. Like he was proud of himself. He literally waited until Sam got back to show him.

So yeah, I thought that was funny. It was I mean, it was gross. Anyway, they figure out that in the exact center of this two mile radius, there's a farmhouse. So they decide, You know what, we need to go check out this farmhouse. They walk up the steps, and they start to pick the lock. But then this adorable little kid just opens the door. And I was like, Can I help you where you want. Sam is like, you know, who were you or

your parents home? So they're talking with this little kid tried to be nice and say no, yeah, we're with the FBI, you should let us in. He examines their badges and eventually he trusts them enough to let them inside. And we see that he is cooking himself dinner. His parents are still out working. He's home alone a lot. As they're talking with him. He starts saying all the things that we know kids believe you know that Pop Rocks and soda will put you in the hospital itching powder will make you

scratch your brains out. Dean finds a picture that is the exact replica of the tooth fairy man that we saw earlier in the episode. So they've kind of started to put together okay, this, this is who is causing this. They don't know why. But they're just pretty sure that he is causing it. As they're putting two and two together. Dean decides to test the theory. So he pulls out the joy buzzer from his pocket. And he shows it to Jesse, this is little boys named Jesse and says, Hey, what

do you think of this? And Jesse says, Oh, that'll that'll shock you to death that'll that'll fuck you up. And Dean says, No, a little kid said that. Well, Dean was like, no, no, it won't. It's just a wind up toy. It doesn't even have batteries in it does nothing. It just vibrates. That's all it does. And then just he goes, Oh, okay, good to know. So Dean goes go look, and like slams it up against Sam. Sam jumped out of his skin. But sure enough, it

does just the vibrating. That joy buzzers do nothing happened. So then they're leaving the house and they're like, Okay, this is definitely who's doing it. You know, as soon as we convinced him that the joy buzzer wasn't gonna electrocute you, and suddenly it's lost. It's like magical powers, but they don't understand how he's doing it. So now they need to research this little boy. And by the way, Sam was not a muse. No rally. So he was like, he risked my fucking ass just to prove a

point. Dean just kind of shrugged it off like, Sorry, my bad. So they researched Jesse's birth records. And they find out he was adopted. And his biological mother is a woman named Julia, right, who actually lives in the same state. She's a ways away, but she's in the same state. So they go to talk to her first. And she has like, what was it three dead bolts? And it sounded like when she was unlocking the door to talk to them that there was a lot more going on on the other side of

that door. Oh, yeah. And she also asked to see their badges and examine them. What are y'all looking for? When you asked to see their badge? typos? I don't, I don't know what you're looking for when that happens.

LA

I've heard some crazy stories, though. Like, I'd become the precinct, precinct to

Berly

precinct. Precinct precinct. Call the call the FBI to get to verify their badge numbers, but they would just give you Bobby's number. Who would Sam and Dean. Oh, that's right. Yeah.

LA

Well, I'm just saying in real life. I've heard stories where like, killers dressed up as police officers, and they were just like, okay, yeah, we'll go along with you, officer. Ah, no. Yeah.

Berly

You and your true crime stuff. I know. It's terrifying. Well, anyway, they start asking her questions about her pregnancy and if anything weird happened during that time, and that sets off some alarms for Miss Julia. So she says look you and turns around and runs Sam and Dean Chase. her into the house, she books it to the kitchen, grab some salt and starts throwing it at them, which makes them stop in their tracks to kind of be like, what? This isn't what we usually get.

Yeah, and then Julie goes, Wait, you're not demons. Now like, how about the unibody? It is? What is going on here? Turns out poor Julia was a virgin got possessed by a demon who somehow which had the demon have semen. It's just black smoke.

LA

I don't know, man. I don't want to think too far into it. Okay, fine.

Berly

We'll just move forward. The demon possessed her and impregnated her somehow. Then she gave birth to the baby, which is Jessie. And we'll find out more about what this baby is. In a little bit. She's just like, it was fucking traumatizing. I don't even know how I got pregnant. We don't either. We never find out. And she's just like, I don't know, I almost killed it. But I just I couldn't bring myself to do it. It was just little baby. Like, I couldn't do it. So I dropped it

off for adoption. I got the fuck out of town. That was that.

LA

I thought it was crazy that when she was giving birth, somehow she was able to take control over the demon. Right?

Berly

Well, she was saying that she was in immense pain or whatever. Yeah. So I wonder if like if a human gets to a certain point emotionally where they're in pain or whatever, if you're able to because yeah, if it breaks it somehow, because think how much pain Bobby was in, when he thought he was about to murder dean. And that's when he got control of his vessel and was able to stop himself instead. So maybe it's like, emotion pain. I don't fucking know.

LA

I just was like, that was great. That's like, I feel like besides Bobby, that's the only time we really like seen that happen.

Berly

I think so. Yeah, it is. Yeah. Except for Chef nurse. But chef nors handed control over like, purposely mount. Yeah, these are the only two times I can think of where we've seen the person able to take control. Well, and

LA

she likes booked it to the giant bag.

Berly

Sort of swallowing it. Ah, and she essentially exercised herself, like using salt and everything and got rid of the demon that is important. So the demon did bail out. And that's when she was left with them. And she was like asking, you know, have you guys found my son? And they told her he's a good kid. Yeah, his name is Jesse. This is where he is. And then they leave. And they think, okay, we don't know how to how to deal with this. We don't even know what we're dealing with

still. So they call on Cassiel. And Cassiel is just like this thing is a cambian or a calico. Actually the Antichrist, and it's half demon, half human. unlimited powers. This thing could strike down the host of heaven. Murder time. That's that's the answer. I

LA

was most impressed with that. He said with a thought he could be anywhere in the world. Right? What a dream.

Berly

Yeah, and he does it later. Yeah, I know. Sam is not having this. He's like, no, no, no, no, no, we're not murdering children. And Dean was not on board with murdering children either. No, neither of them are on board with this plan. And he says, we're gonna go get the kid and we're gonna take him to Bobby. Bobby. Bobby will know what to do. Because that's always the Winchesters.

LA

Our daddies know what to do.

Berly

Bobby will know what to do. Casio points out. This kid is happy right now, which I don't know if that's necessarily true that he's happy. I mean, that's questionable. But I get Castillo's point. He's like, this kid is doing this stuff. Completely unintentionally, right now. Imagine what would happen if you made him angry? Actually, he's saying it. Jesse gets referred to as

LA

it a lot. Yes. And the mom called him it? Yeah, yeah.

Berly

The mom calls him it. Cassio calls him it. So I guess we should stick with the theme. So Castiel says, What if it gets angry when you kidnap it? What do you think it's going to do then? So no, it's murder time. And Sam says, well, then we'll tell him the truth and give him the chance to make the right decision. And I was like, oh, Sammy is projecting? Oh, yeah. And then Castile goes. You didn't?

LA

Oh, my God, this face. Unnecessary.

Berly

So they're just like, we're not killing a kid. And Cassiel just like, Okay, peace flat, and he's gone. We see Julia leaving her house. We don't know where she's going. She's putting on her sweater. And I mean, she's just bless her heart. She just was just so sweet and yet so scared and timid. The actress did a wonderful job portraying the two different personalities. I

LA

like her I think her name is ever Carradine. Okay seen her and other stuff. I like her. I liked her a lie. I just randomly was on Instagram and I think somebody attacked her or something during the strike and she was out there a bunch good supporting. Yeah,

Berly

nice. But yeah, she did really well. So she's this too. metacharacter leaving her house bundling up. And there's this postman just standing there on our doorstep. And she turns around and

LA

she's like, Yeah, that's nighttime. Like what do you do? Dude?

Berly

I was like she was being way nice for someone who has 20 locks on her door. You were being awfully nice to this postman just standing on your even if you know him, like how familiar are you with your postman right?

LA

Also, like, I don't think if I'm that safety conscious, I'd just be walking out willy nilly, I'd have a weapon or something. me

Berly

like, why was it there? He's like hitting on or something. I don't even know what was going on. They seemed they seemed awfully cozy,

LA

right? She was like, I had a weird day or something. And he's like, No, we'll talk to the Winchesters will do that. Yeah, that

Berly

and then he like slammed up against the door and held open our mouth. And Black smoke came out of him and into her. So it was the demon that had possessed. It was her baby daddy, her baby Daddy's back in town, and he possessed her again. Then we see her eyes go black and her whole demeanor changes. Poor thing as she steps away from the door. I know. I felt so bad for her.

LA

I mean, leave her alone. She and the kid for you. Okay, yeah.

Berly

They're like you took something of ours. When he's in freaking Alliance. Okay, go get them. What do you need her for? Right? Why are you coming and taking her? Hasn't she given you enough? Yeah. Go follow Sam and Dean. They'll lead you to Yeah. fuckhead. Anyway, so Jessie is getting a glass of water. It's like the middle of the night. He's thirsty. He's walking around the corner and Castile suddenly appears. He's just like, don't be scared. Just a stranger in your living room in

the middle of the night. Don't be out of nowhere. And Jesse starts screaming for his mom and dad and Castile is like, I assure you, they will not wake up until morning. Again, that's scary. Oh, totally. Thanks. Thanks for the reassurance as he's backing him in the corner. He's like, I'm not going to hurt you. He does show a moment of you can tell he's doubting his decision just a little bit. Not feeling good about what he's

about to do. And so I think that him hesitating a little bit is what gave Jesse the window to actually turn Castile into a joy buzzer action picker.

LA

Yeah.

Berly

Let's see. Sam and Dean come in, bursting in the door, right after this. And they pick up little pocket sized casts, like

LA

arm raised with a knife and everything.

Berly

Put them somewhere safe. I think they like put them on the mantle. And they start talking to Jesse about everything and they're essentially laying it out like he's an X man. Like, it's superpower time and we're going to take you to a man he's even in a wheelchair. And we're going to train you how to use your superpowers. And we're going to

keep you safe. And all of these things but as they're doing this possessed Julia comes flying in the door, uses her superpowers to slam Sam and Dean up against the wall. We got some Winchesters what not tied up was the word I'm looking for. slammed up against the wall incapacitated.

LA

stated. Yeah,

Berly

I don't know. We got some Winchesters up against the wall

LA

right next to each other

Berly

grimacing, their jaw lines being on display as they're turning. Oh, yeah. Oh. And Julia tells Jessie possess Julia. Aren't you angry? Everybody's

LA

wanting to work to earn angry.

Berly

And we get to see that Jesse is angry, because he makes a fist with his hand. The lights start shaking, and the wall is splitting open and the fireplace is going crazy. When they're realizing Jesse is way more powerful than even the demons thought. They're all just kind of like, holy shit.

LA

Yeah, I think Julie even says that, doesn't she? Julia she's like, you're stronger. Yeah, powerful than I

Berly

forgot about something else possessed. Julia said after she slams the Winchesters up against the wall. She's like, Oh, sorry. Like, handsome. We aren't gonna hurt you. We're under orders. We can't hurt you, Sammy. But deem you hurting you is actually encouraged.

LA

Whoo. Interesting.

Berly

But Jesse takes charge. He gets control of his emotions. He does some deep breathing exercises. He comes back down to earth. And he tells possess Julia, you shut up and sit down. I want to hear what Sam has to say because Sam is trying to talk to him. So Sam explains that they did lie to him and tells Jesse the truth tells him everything and just he gets really upset. was like, why are

you telling me this? And Sam is just like, because I want you to have all the information so that you can make the right decision even though I didn't bore Jessie like bless his little heart. He tells the demon to get out of his mom. And she's unconscious after that, but they tell her they say he's going to be okay. And Jesse realizes I can't stay here can I? Or like no, we're sorry. Like the demons know where you are. Now. They're gonna come back. And Jesse says Well, let me go upstairs and say

goodbye to my mom and dad. He doesn't talk to his parents because they're still asleep per cast yells description And so he goes in his room and he lays on his bed. There's this massive poster on his wall. That's like Surf's up in Australia. So he's staring at this poster. Then we cut back down to Sam and Dean, who are still downstairs with joy buzzer Cassiel because when Dean asked Jesse to turn Cass yell back, Jesse was still mad. He was like, he tried to kill

me. And they're realizing, okay, Jesse has been gone for a little bit. Let's go check on him. They go upstairs. He's nowhere to be found. All of a sudden Casio comes around the corner. It's just like he's vanished. He turned to everyone in town back to normal, and he's gone. I don't know where he is, though. And then they just go oh, well, I guess he's just gone. I guess we'll never know. Do a quick

sweep of the room, boys. You're probably going to be able to figure it out really fucking quickly where he went,

LA

yeah.

Berly

He's in Australia. Oh, but no, they don't do that. They just go up. All right, I guess you know, he can only be found if he wants to be well, the world will never know. The Jessie Turner. It shows Sam and Dean in the car. And they're kind of talking about how we just ruined that kid's life telling them the truth. And Dean says he's starting to understand why some people lie to their kids as a way to try and shield them from the real evil in the world and help them feel more

safe. And he even says sometimes I wish dad maybe lied more to us examine Greece.

LA

But yeah,

Berly

that was the end. It was written by Andrew dabb and Daniel Loughlin, and it was directed by Charles Besian. A fun little tidbit from trivia. This episode shares many similarities with the book Good Omens, which was written by Mr. Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Both have an 11 year old Antichrist who subconsciously uses their powers to make urban legends come true. All right, so Gore, it wasn't gory. But, I mean, well, the glorious thing

was the babysitter's head. I was gonna say, yeah, that was that was pretty. That was pretty gory. Yeah. And her even her body in the morgue was a little gory. But the thing that made me cringe the most was the freakin Tooth Fairy. Oh, God. I know, even though we only saw it in shadow on the wall was just the sound effects. Ah, it was well done, though. I enjoyed it. Like it was both funny and scrapey. It just I liked it. I liked it. So adore was there anything you adored in this episode?

LA

I guess I like Jessie. He was adorable. And the kid did a good job as an actor.

Berly

I think both of the child actors in this episode did really well. Yeah, they both did good. I named Jesse. Jimmy. Jimmy was the first one. Okay, Jimmy and Jess. Yeah, I liked him. I agree. I liked them as well. I wonder if he's gonna come back. Well, that's

LA

what I was. Uh, yeah. I'm curious. Like, what's

Berly

he gonna? Is he gonna play a part in the future?

LA

I hope so.

Berly

I hope he comes back. Yeah. I know that the actor who plays Jesse I don't know his name. I didn't look it up. He is in the boys. Oh, really? He played the young gunpowder on the boys. Okay, just part of the payback superhero team. But yeah, I would say that's that's I agree the two the two child actors were my adore in this episode. Yeah.

LA

What about lower? Okay, well, Laura's over the kami on this article says if you look up cambian you will most likely find sources telling you that this word refers to the offspring of a human and a demon. More specifically a succubus or Incubus, but that's not what the word used to mean. cambian comes from the Latin can be air which means to change. A cambian was originally a changeling. Ah,

Berly

stupid phone. We learned about changelings suck goodbye. And incubi No, this

LA

is like a it's all mixed together in this one. Oh, it says this confusion isn't new. Oh. There are essentially two similar traditions of the demon baby, which have always been very close and prone to mixing up. So when there was a demon or a fairy impostor, posing as usual, as a human, which was usually a baby the stories of changelings were used to kind of explain away disabilities or

illnesses. There were legendary examples like Merlin or Robert the devil, but this became a widespread thought experiment for medieval theologians. Could demons reproduce? Could they reproduce with humans? How would

that work? explanations were detailed there was a whole myth about incubi or male sex demons and their alternate female identities the sucky by today cambiemos would be defined as the type two there but when this 13th century Bishop William of Aw, Vernie, Vernay probably saying all this shit wrong. Yeah, won't be the first time mentioned cambiando in his work

D D universo. He ascribed type one as you should not overlook what is said about infants from whom the convention calls can be yawns, about which the most widespread are old wives tales, that they are children of demon incubi substituted by female demons so that they are fed by them as if they are their own and are hence called cambios. That is, can be can be seen as if swapped and substituted to female partners for their own

children. They say that these are thin always wailing drinking so much milk that it takes for wet nurses to feed one oh goodness, they are seen to stay after which they fly away or rather vanish.

Berly

They suck for wet nurses dry and then just disappear he's out Yeah, or like I'm full. Bye, thanks PSL Williams

LA

cam yawns are the offspring of incubi instead of fairies but otherwise they are the same. They eat they scream and they played the families whose children they have replaced. Richard Firth green remarks that Incubus was probably the most widely used general scholastic term for fairy in the Middle Ages. And his account is one of the earliest full descriptions of changelings. In 1487, the malleus Maleficarum appeared on the scene. Hey, oh, there's a

lot of coming up already. This was the hammer of which is a mid medieval book that still famous today it was all about witchcraft, and what people should do about that. Spoiler, burn all the witches. But it also touched on the subject of demon human hybrids a couple of times. Martin Luthers. table talks published in 1566 would become the most widely cited authorities on changelings.

Luthers version fit both that type one and type two that we talked about earlier, as they were the demonic children of Satan and human women whom Satan then swapped for normal children. Less than a century later, Pierre de la Ludden Cray was a French judge and performer of a huge witch hunt. Among his books on witchcraft was Tableau day in constants and constants this mother, Agnes at Dima 1612 It says read it in English or French. I would suck at both it

sounds. Like many of his contemporaries, he touches on the question of whether demons could procreate and the Dictionnaire infernal by Jacques Augustus some Simon Cullen de Plansee when he first published in 1818. This includes cambian but as it cites Dylan Cray, as saying that incubi and succubi produce children called cambio yawns, this can imply that the Cambodians are born of incubi and succubi together rather than Incubus, human or Succubus human relationship. All right. That's

it. There was a lot more. I don't think we needed it. Yeah, like each of those examples had long, lengthy examples, and I was like, I don't think we need to go deep into it.

Berly

All right, well, quote, close it out, after they call on Castile to come help them out. Castile said, this child is half demon and half human, but it's far more powerful than either other cultures call this hybrid cambian or Calico? You know him as the Antichrist. Then Castile says,

LA

That wasn't me. Dean says. share yours.

Berly

Thank you for listening to denim wrapped nightmares.
